In a setting where characters from all sorts of franchises and media live in a city, life is never boring in Toon City, especially with all the antics everyone gets up to; ranging from comical situations to more underlying themes. 130. The Great Toon Show

The Great Toon Show

[We begin our story in the early morning hours as the sun is rising over the ocean, and the calls of the gulls accompany the gentle waves of the sea]

[We pan over the body of water to the Island of Anima as the beginning of "Eye of the Tiger" starts up, panning up to reveal the morning light shining off the skyscrapers and other buildings. Cut to a shot of the main engine sheds, before cutting to a shot of the Star and Zero Docks, cut to a shot of the Town Hall, cut to a shot of Sesame Street labeled by the signposts, opposite Bergman Avenue on the other post]

[The main guitar solo shows each contestant by every beat; Applejack adjusting her belt buckle in the barn, Knuckles fixing on his gloves, Jasper flexing her arm, Tai Lung narrowing his eyes]

[Followed by Sonic stretching by the lake, Balto limbering up in his apartment, Steele looking at his timer in the rec room, Haruka looking determined in the mirror and giving a nod]

[Another guitar riff, this time with the drums, plays we cut to the salvage yard as Tramp is shown limbering up alongside Buster while Scamp watches on, Chance and Jake doing stretches in preparation in another section of the facility before we cut to Rainbow Dash flying overhead as an early warmup, while Lapis Lazuli flies past her]

[Repeat of the previous verse as we are then shown Top Cat and Mao Mao walking alongside each other with looks of determination, followed by their respective groups; Benny, Choo-Choo, Fancy-Fancy, Spook, and Brain for TC, while Badgerclops and Adorabat follow on for MM. Cut to Arnold weightlifting before showing Beast Boy alternating between different forms to see which one would be the strongest]

[It then shows the various characters walking across the city on their way to Evergreen Station to board the trains to the stadium. Gordon, James, Henry, Emily, Thomas, and Toby are standing at the platforms with their respective coaches ready to go. Percy, Edward, Duck, Oliver, Donald and Douglas are behind the trains closest to the edge of the platform with their own coaches, seeing as there are many people to take onboard]

[As a bonus, the engines and carriages have been decked out with colorful flags and streamers representing the island's colors]

Risin' up, back on the street

Did ma' time, took my chances

[The guard of each respective train blows its whistle and waves its green flag, ready for departure. Gordon is the first to set off as soon as the signal drops]

Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet

Just a man, and his will to survive

[Cut to the contestants and audience members looking out of the coach windows as the city passes by before heading underground through the subway tunnels and out into the open countryside]

So many times, it happens too fast

You change your passion for glory

[Cut to Scar and Shere Khan with their arms crossed as they look out the window, looking over at Blitz and Exile leaning on each other. The lion and the tiger glance at each other and then wink]

Don't lose ya' grip on the dreams of the past

You must fight just to keep them alive

[Cut to Jaspers and Lapis sitting across from Rarity and Applejack as the mares nod. The gems glance at each other, Lapis with a coy look on her face while Jasper smirks]

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight

Risin' up to the challenge of our rival

[Fox and Wolf are shown glancing at one another, Fox turning away from the window seat as Wolf gives him a wink with his good eye]

And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night

And he's watchin' us all with the eeeeeeeeye

Of the tiger

[Pan over various characters within the coaches; Robin polishing his bow and arrow, Katz narrowing his eyes, Chance and Johnny giving a flex of each other's arms, Mulan and Merida arm-wrestling, Angelina glancing thoughtfully out the window]

[The rest of the song carries out in instrumental mode as we pan over to reveal the stadium near the village of Pine, a tall grey structure looms over the land as people from the village are flocking in droves to find their seats for the event. The narrow gauge railway is just as busy taking passengers from the mountains and delivering them to Pine Station as the standard guage engines arrive to drop off their passengers]

[Skarloey and Rheneas comes to a stop at the platform with a double header. The passengers pour out of their coaches as soon as the doors are opened]

Skarloey: Hooo, boy, not even Market Day got this chaotic.

Rheneas: I swear I saw some of them clamoring over each other.

[Gordon is shown entering the station to drop off his passengers]

Gordon: All change! Please mind your step as you exit the carriage.

[The passengers disembark from the coaches and make their way down the platform and towards the stadium as the other engines arrive to drop off their passengers, Thomas pulls up next to Gordon with Annie and Clarabel]

Annie: Ooooooh, it's always the same around this time of year.

Clarabel: We feel so full, we feel so full.

Thomas: Oh, come now, you two, it's only once a year. Besides, you do look nice with those flags on.

Annie: Hmmm…I suppose you have a point.

Clarabel: Quite, a little team spirit never hurt.

Thomas: Exactly, I just can't wait for the show to start!

Gordon: Just make sure you don't damage yourself trying to get in.

Thomas: As if I'd repeat that same stunt again. Oh, is that the Flying Scotsman?

[Sure enough, a long green engine with two tenders steams into the station with a train from Elm]

Flying Scotsman: Why, hello, little brother. I see you're keeping busy with all those passengers. I've brought a similar crowd, and, hehehe, they can't get enough of me.

Gordon: Hmmm, modest as always, I see, Scotsman.

Scotsman: Well, you can't exactly say you're the pinnacle of being humble, dear Gordon.

Gordon: …Touche.

[We cut to the inside of the stadium as the audience is gathered in their seats, practically everyone around the island is in attendance. A blimp passes over the stadium advertising the event on its sides while the contestants are shown getting ready for their debut. In the meantime, they're shown conversing with one another about anything]

[Pan over to Robin, Merida, and Mulan]

Robin: I wish you all luck in your events, in my eyes, may the best man or woman win.

Mulan: Just so long as you give the rest of us a fair shot, Mr. Invincible.

Robin: But, of course, ma' dear, wouldn't be a competition otherwise.

Merida: Och, ya' might be the legendary thief, but I know a thing or two about archery and showin' what's for.

Robin: Indeed, you're rather impressive from what I've heard. Shooting a bullseyes through another arrow, almost like we're kindred spirits.

Merida: Aye, that was a good show, especially against some a' those boys. But lookit this lassie, slippin' through an army in disguise.

Mulan: [waves modestly] Oh that. I guess you can say willpower knows no bounds when you're upholding your father's honor.

[Cut to Fox and Wolf]

Wolf: Ya' know, it's a little ironic, we're competing in this whole shin-dig, and we're not even facing off.

Fox: Then again, knowing how the world works, that's probably for the better…cuz you'd be at a disadvantage.

Wolf: Who says? Especially since we've fought before on a level field, and I got more than a fair share of hits on you.

Fox: True, but you've yet to beat me in the air. Or so the universe dictates looking out for me.

Wolf: Trust me, I don't need an aircraft to best you. I can make those legs weak with one little gesture.

Fox: And what would that be?

[Wolf puts a paw under Fox's chin]

Wolf: This…

[Wolf presses his nose right up against Fox's, enough for their muzzles to come in contact with each other]

?: Well, isn't that adorable?

[Fox and Wolf pull away from their engagement to reveal Rarity and Applejack standing nearby]

Applejack: They're like a couple a' candy apples, tough exteriors, but real sweet all the same.

[Wolf rolls his eyes while Fox looks away flatly]

Fox: Oh yeah, we're definitely like that.

Wolf: Couldn't find a more accurate description of us.

Rarity: We don't mean to scoff, darling, I think it's sweet that you're being openly affectionate around each other.

Fox: I suppose in that case, we could say the same for you and Applejack. Who'd have thought polar opposites would mix?

Applejack: I guess you could say that life's full of surprises. All I know is that Rarity's a gem I wouldn't trade for anythin'.

Rarity: And you, darling, are the apple of my eye.

[Rarity puts a hand under Applejack's chin as the two share a kiss with each other]

Rarity: Win that event for me, won't you?

Applejack: I won't be draggin' behind, that's for sure.

Wolf: [murmuring] Isn't that corny?

Fox: As if we weren't being that not five minutes ago.

Wolf: …Shush, pup.

[Cut to Chance and Jake]

Chance: Tell you what, I'm gonna whip the floor with the others, just lookit these guns here.

[Chance flexes his arm for emphasis]

Jake: Just try not to show off too much and strain yourself, big guy.

Chance: Hey, what's there to worry about? The two of us are tougher than nails, so we got this competition in the bag.

Jake: True, let's just tone down the hubris a little bit. I'd rather see you lose with grace than be sore about it.

Chance: As if I'd lose to half of these guys, same goes for you with all that training we've done. Have a little faith in yourself.

[Chance playfully smacks Jake on his back]

Jake: Oof! I can't take you anywhere, can I?

Chance: [shrugs] Hey, it's why ya' love me.

Jake: Hmmmmm…you're not wrong.

[Cut to Sonic, Shadow, and Silver]

Sonic: Well, it's been a while since we've had a proper race together.

Shadow: I'll admit, it's not…too bad competing alongside the both of you.

Silver: And I see this one's finally come out of his shell.

Sonic: Oh, trust me, you missed a whole session with this one.

Shadow: [rolls his eyes] It's not something I would advise making light of. But, I will admit, it is nice to have this trio back together.

Silver: Hopefully without any controversy this time around, or people losing their minds in general.

Sonic: You'd be lucky.

Shadow: What I still don't understand is why he's competing with us.

[We cut to Scourge leaning against the wall, fiddling with a toothpick in his mouth before flicking it off]

Scourge: Hey, I wasn't plannin' on joinin' this crapfest to begin with, but cuz of Mr. Albino Psycho, I got roped into it. Either way, I'm just as eligible for this thing as you are, especially since I means I get ta' put you all through the wringer.

Silver: Just so long as you don't go completely off the rails as per usual, we can…tolerate your presence.

Scourge: If they can tolerate you, that's a start.

Silver: …I don't even know.

Scourge: Plus, let's not act like I'm the only one with a checkered past here. I can spot at least five fellow scumbags in my sight.

Shadow: Just…stay out of trouble and I won't do anything to you.

[Scourge rolls his eyes and walks away from the other hedgehogs just as Knuckles comes up alongside them]

Knuckles: I see you all got along with the welcoming committee.

Shadow: That's an understatement.

Knuckles: Hmmm…either way, I wish you all luck on your event.

Sonic: Same goes for you too, Knux. Knock 'em down if ya' can.

Knuckles: I didn't spend most of my life training to be a guardian for nothing, I intend to make it count.

[Cut to Scourge shuffling through the crowd]

Scourge: [muttering] And people call me edgy. At least I can show more emotion besides 'stoic'...oh, speak of the devil, and there he shall appear…

[Scourge leans against the wall…he then closes his eyes as we transition to a flashback, set some time before the current events]

[We're shown the exterior of the Hazbin Hotel where Charlie and Vaggie are sitting in the lobby, looking over the poster for the show]

Charlie: You know, a participant from the hotel could do wonders for business.

Vaggie: True, but who would we send in?

Charlie: Hmmm…have you thought of entering?

Vaggie: [shrugs] Maybe, but competitions like that aren't really my thing.

[We cut to outside of the hotel where Scourge is propped against the wall, a cigarette in his mouth before he lets out a puff of smoke]

?: You know, I believe there's an opportunity for you to take advantage of.

[Scourge is caught off and coughs around the smoke in the air]

Scourge: Who the hell said that?

?: Oh, come now, don't you recognize my voice, unless the toxins have kicked in.

[Scourge looks over to his left and sees Dr. Finitevus standing next to him]

Scourge: …For cryin' loud out, you just like stickin' onto me like a leech. You always have to pop up to kick someone down further.

Finitevus: Now, now, is that any way to greet an old friend? Let alone your superior?

Scourge: ACK! What the hell do you want, doc?

Finitevus: Well, as I'm sure you've guessed, there's an event going on in a few days.

Scourge: Yeah, the tabloids won't shut up about it. What does this have to do with me?

Finitevus: For all your many failures, I'm willing to extend an olive branch. Putting in a good word for you in order to compete in the show.

Scourge: …And why would I wanna be put in with that bunch of lunatics?

Finitevus: Think of it this way; your conquests have all been about power, and, in trying to take the higher ground, you only set yourself up for a painful fall.

[Scourge grimaces at this]

Finitevus: However, let's focus on your…other attributes…you've got the same powers as the rest of those hedgehogs…speed in particular…

Scourge: …What do I get from entering a stupid race?

Finitevus: It's an even playing field, there's nothing to stop you from gaining a semblance of victory that will linger…think of it as a way to finally have one over on those plebians without embarrassing yourself.

Scourge: HMPH! Even when trying to beef someone up, you can't help but insult them.

Finitevus: Pot, kettle, black, my dear rebel. At the very least, you'd have something to consider a success…and truth be told, I have a feeling you know I'm right.

Scourge: You…are a smug bastard.

Finitevus: I know, but looking at you is like looking into a mirror. I know you can't resist the temptation. It's practically a straight shot for yourself, all you have to do is not screw it up. And think of the reward, the praise, the acclamation, for a moment, people won't look at you like criminal scum, they'll see someone fighting tooth and nail to earn their title…

[Scourge pauses and looks down, seemingly taking a moment to reflect on the echidna's words]

Scourge: …Why are you doing this? You don't care about any of us.

Finitevus: True, think of this as me being…generous for a change. Expect nothing less…

Scourge: [sighs] …I'll think about it.

Finitevus: Good boy…now then, I must be off, I have…business to attend to…

[With that, Finitevus slips back into the shadows as Scourge watches him with an odd eye…pan up to reveal that their conversation wasn't entirely private as Alastor is shown hanging over one of the balconies, giving one of his signature smug grins]

[Cut back to Charlie and Vaggie organizing papers at the desk]

Charlie: I'm not saying I couldn't enter myself, but I'm not nearly as athletic as some of those guys and gals.

Vaggie: Funny enough, you might not need to be, one of the contests is literally "style", dunno how you fit that into a sports show.

?: I believe I may have the solution to our little gambit.

[Charlie and Vaggie turn to see Alastor standing at the other end of the desk]

Charlie: Oh, Alastor. How do you mean?

Alastor: Well, my dear, I believe Scourge might be our best bet for the show, after all, isn't he essentially Sonic's parallel?

Charlie: I guess so…I mean, he probably would stand a good chance in the show…but only if he's feeling up for it.

Alastor: Oh, I have a feeling he'll be quite up to the task.

Vaggie: [shrugs] If you say so, just don't do any weird voodoo woodoo to pressure him or anything.

[Alastor turns away and chuckles]

Alastor: Why, of course, I wouldn't dream of it…

[Scourge is shown reentering the hotel before he looks to his right and sees Alastor polishing his microphone stick. He looks over to the green hedgehog and gives a sly wink. Scourge's face morphs into an odd look]

[Transition back to the present day as Scourge sighs]

Scourge: What have I gotten myself into…?

[In front of Scourge, we pan from behind him to reveal Drago talking to Arnold]

Drago: And so I told him, I'd rather have a rock dropped on my head than losing these limbs again. I mean, could you really see me trading this beauty here?

Arnold: Someone would have to be dense to do that. Of course, it's nothing compared to this figure, I'm literally a titan.

Scourge: [muttering] I see the himbos are getting along…whatever, if I can get a decent placement, it'll be worth entering this stupid contest…

[Cut to Angelina, Stella, Blitz, and Exile conversing with each other]

Angelina: You know, having performed on ships and in castles, I never thought I'd get to show off in a stadium.

Blitz: I neva' thought I'd get to show in a place like this either, unless it involved a lot of falling on mein arse.

Stella: Now, don't sell yourself short, dawling. Most people would think I wouldn't humor the idea of something like this, but then again, beauty doesn't need to be restrictive.

Blitz: I'll say, I mean, I do like to take care of my appearance, but even I'm not afraid to get my paws dirty. Besides, who says that style can't be a sport in itself?

Stella: It's a competitive field for sure, and even speaking as a fairy, it takes time and effort to create something beautiful.

Exile: Don't suppose we could commission you for victory suits upon our respective wins?

Stella: On two conditions; one; that you actually win, and two; before Rarity gets her hands on you first.

Exile: I'll hold you to it, hmmhmmhmm.

[Blitz turns to Exile]

Blitz: Du versprichst mir, Gold zu bringen, Liebling?

Exile: Tol'ko yesli ty tozhe yego prinesesh', dorogaya.

[The Doberman and the Husky press their noses against one another while Angelina and Stella watch with adoring expressions]

Angelina: Aren't they sweet?

Stella: Puppies are naturally sweet.

Angelina: True…

[Cut to Kyoko practicing martial arts with several punches and kicks while Velvette stands nearby, examining her nails with a look of boredom. She glances over at the raspberry-haired girl with an unamused expression]

Velvette: What's a runt like you doin' in a place like this? You're a far cry away from the playground.

Kyoko: Trust me, lady, you don't know what I'm capable of. I've spent years training to be tough as nails.

Velvette: Oh, how cute…I'm sure they'll toss you a bone for participation.

Kyoko: In that case, I just hope your fashion sense is as strong as your smack talk. Cuz I'm not gettin' solid vibes lookin' at you.

Velvette: [scoffs] Like you'd know anythin' about fashion in that gaudy ass outfit a' yours.

Kyoko: At least I don't look like a doll that came out of Beetlejuice.

Velvette: Please, that bloke ain't got nothin' on me, the backbone of the Vees.

Kyoko: Whatever you say…[under her breath]...diva.

Velvette: [hisses] Wretch.

[Cut to Harold flying over the stadium as Ann Gora is shown in the cockpit next to the pilot, while Jonny K films her from behind the camera]

Ann: This is Ann Gora reporting live from TCT, as you see, the Great Toon Show is in full upswing! In order to get a scope on how confident our competitors feel, here's some exclusive interviews.

[Interview: Angelina]

Angelina: I would say I've got a decent chance against my competition. Sure, I'm no Robin Hood or Mulan, but I'm not a ballerina for nothing. These shoes aren't just for show.

[Interview: Katz]

Katz: I'm going to be incredibly transparent, I came here for one goal in mind; to achieve first place. Not for second, not for third, not for fourth. First place only. I will be damned if I let any of these people take it from me.

[Interview: Shadow]

Shadow: While I may be the ultimate life form, I recognize that my competition is just as capable of proving themselves. I still don't understand how someone like Scourge was allowed to compete with us.

[Interview: Rarity]

Rarity: Style might not be a sport, but it brings out a different kind of challenge; testing one's patience and creativity. Being a fashion designer isn't as easy as it looks, even as someone with magic. But I know how to make it work, hmmhmm.

[Interview: Jasper]

Jasper: Am I worried? If I was, I wouldn't have signed up for this event in the first place. Sure, I might be going against people who could match me, but I was built for strength. Not even a demi-god is gonna stop me from claiming my rightful position, you got that?!

[Interview: Velvette]

Velvette: You're currently looking at the new head of fashion, and guaranteed winner of this little schtick. Trust me, if you've seen the plebs I'm up against, you'd think I was in a circus. This'll be a piece a' cake.

[Interview: Tai Lung]

Tai Lung: I'll make this brief; I'm here to win, no matter what it takes. I might be in a better state of mind than I was before, but it doesn't mean I'm going easy on these people.

[Cut to back to Ann]

Ann: As you can see, we've got quite the roster going on, but in the end, only four will be lucky enough to receive the gold medal for first place.

[The scene cuts to the executive suite for some of the audience members, namely that of the Toon City Town Hall group; Mayor Mickey in the center with Donald and Goofy to the left, contrast Minnie and Daisy to the right]

Mickey: I did say we'd get the best seats in the house.

Goofy: When ya' put it like that, we got the best seats in the house because of the mouse, HA-YUK!

Donald: Best not let the executives hear you say that…or me for that matter.

Minnie: I'm looking at a few familiar faces clutching the win in their events.

Daisy: Is that so? Well, I've got my money on Hunk-ules in the strength competition.

Donald: Das too predictable, I say Jasper!

Goofy: I reckon that ole Sonic might secure another win in the big race.

Minnie: I was thinking more along the lines of Shadow.

Mickey: Well, whoever wins, I wish them nothing but the best of luck…oh, I believe the show's starting.

[A recreation of the Laff-a-Lympics theme is heard as we pan over the stadium before Snagglepuss chips in with his commentary]

Snagglepuss: Heavens to hilarity! This is it, sports fan! Participants even!

[Circular icons of the contestants are shown passing by the screen]

Snagglepuss: Animation's greatest array of stars! Our contestants will be competing in tests of speed! Strength! Skill! And style!

[The camera pans over the audience]

Snagglepuss: The audience is raring with excitement, anticipation, even! So let's get on with it, in the Great Toon Show!

[Cut to Snagglepuss in his yellow suit that he previously wore in the original show]

Snagglepuss: Aaaah, it feels just like old times to be back reporting, along with my old co-host; Mildew Wolf.

[Cut to a scrawny dark brown wolf with a green hat, donning a similar outfit to Snagglepuss]

Mildew: I dunno how ya' dragged me back into reporting on these silly savages, Snag.

Snagglepuss: Why, it's very simple, Mildew, not only are we experts at what we do, but the producers felt it captured that air of nostalgia, vintage energy, a return to form, even.

Mildew: I suppose you have a point there. Anyways, we're just about to show off the contestants for this year's events.

Snagglepuss: Additionally, we have a special guest appearance from beyond the galaxy, the Diamonds of Homeworld have arrived to grace us with their presence.

[Cut to an interview with the Diamonds at their level, the way the camera is moving makes it appear this was done as an aerial shot]

Yellow: This isn't exactly an event I would have considered attending. Let alone the fact that I find the premise barbaric.

Blue: I'm not sure of the significance of these…awards. A prize around the neck isn't anything notable, if you'll pardon my phrasing.

White: Professionally speaking, I find it amusing that earthlings would gather around to determine their superiority. After all, if I was to have been a participant, there would be no competition. I'm naturally superior.

Yellow: But…on behalf of Pink, AHEM, Steven, I'm putting my bias aside for the time being.

Blue: I suppose it could be…fun to watch, at the very least.

White: Whatever they were saying.

[The camera cuts to ground level where Spinel, the frame stabilizing once more]

Spinel: I wasn't gonna miss this for the world, let alone the galaxy! Don't you know I'm all about entertainment? What could be better than watchin' people dukin' it out in the field?

[Cut to inside of the stadium where Finitevus, Starline, Naugus, and Mogul are seated in an isolated section]

Starline: You know, if he screws this up, how does this benefit us exactly?

Finitevus: It's simple, really, if he succeeds, then all that time spent on him will be worth it. If he fails…well, it will be entertaining regardless.

[Cut back to Snagglepuss and Mildew]

Mildew: As soon as the Olympic Flame is lit, the contestants will be coming out onto the field.

Snagglepuss: And this year, we have our dear Pink Panther upholding that honor, befitting to someone having gone through a recovery of their own.

Mildew: [presses on earpiece] What's this, I've just gotten word that our star's gotten some assistance.

Snagglepuss: Heavens to Murgatroyd, you're right, Mildew, it seems he's being accompanied by my old friend; Huckleberry Hound, as well as everyone's favorite pups from down under; Bluey and Bingo Heeler!

[Cut to the aforementioned group shown running up the steps to the large basin for the flame to be put in. Bluey in particular is carrying the flag of the island's colors while Pink Panther is carrying the torch]

[As they reach the top, Pink stops, and Huck lets up Bingo to hold the torch herself, while she's wearing a set of protective goggles. He carefully leans the red heeler to the basin and then reels her back as the flame goes off. Pink then holds up Bluey as she waves the flag about. The audience cheers in response]

[Bingo removes her goggles giddily]

Bingo: I did it!

Bluey: I got to hold the national flag!

Pink: Hmmhmmhmm, you know, this definitely went a lot smoother than last time.

Huck: I hear ya', and would you look at that, feels like old times bein' at this here event, reminds me a' the 70s.

[Cut to Chilli taking a recording of the event before smiling down at her work]

Chilli: Now that's a keeper!

Bandit: Haha, that's my girls!

Mildew: Well, looks like the flame's been lit and it's time to unleash the savages.

Snagglepuss: And what do you know, here they come now!

[The piece "Chariots of Fire" plays as the camera goes into slow motion, and the contestants come out onto the field, standing tall and proud as the crowd cheers them on, waving flags, holding up signs, even setting off confetti]

[We cut to normal speed as we go to several different parts of the island where other characters are watching the event live; the Small Railway engines from Willow, the Narrow Gauge engines from Pine, the tugboats watching from the television at their respective docks, the locomotives from Elm and the engines parked near the stadium]

[Cut back to the contestants standing among one another as Tony the Tiger stands before them in his referee outfit]

Tony: Right, everyone, this is how it's gonna go down; your events will be split up by two-hour intervals. The test of strength will be at 11:00, speed will be at 1:00, style will be at 3:00, and finally, skill will be at 5:00.

[The contestants all glance at each other upon hearing the news, some of them flash support, such as Stella catching Hunter's eye as he gives her a sunny thumbs-up, along with Chance and Jake winking at each other. Others look at one another with suspicion or dripping with overconfidence, in the case of Katz and Velvette narrowing their eyes at each other while Steele bares his teeth absentmindedly and Shadow snorts]

Tony: Seeing as it's ten now, everyone for the strength challenge will have an hour to prepare.

Arnold: Pfft, more than enough time fa' dese guns.

[Knuckles rolls his eyes]

Katz: Great, sitting around for hours for a specific event…

Applejack: In that case, ya'd better train hard till then. Unless, a' course, you wanna take home another second place trophy.

Chance: I think it was thirty at last count.

[Jake nudges Chance as some of the other contestants laugh at this, while Katz gives a look of deepest loathing]

Wolf: Pay 'em no mind, I've heard it all before myself. Yet on solid ground, I can wipe the smirk off any bozo I please.

Panther: I couldn't have put it better myself.

Katz: Hmmm…at least there's some forms of intelligence to be found around here.

Hunter: …AHEM! Either way, I'm sure you're all gonna do great in your events, I can just predict it now.

Colleen: [rolls her eyes] You and your predictions never cease, do they, Hunter?

Hunter: [shrugs] You can't fault a guy for being consistent with his thing.

[Cut back to Tony as he holds up a clipboard]

Tony: Now then, twelve of you are going to be placed in a specific event, I'll read them off now;

[The contestants listen in anticipation for their names to be called out]

Wolf, Buster, Exile, Chance, Drago, Johnny, Applejack, Jasper, Tai Lung, Arnold, Knuckles, and Hercules, you're on the Test of Strength!

[Drago and Arnold smirk at each other while Jasper looks determined]

Sonic, Shadow, Silver, Rainbow Dash, Haruka, Hunter, Lapis, Speedy, Roadrunner, Balto, Steele, and Scourge, it's the Test of Speed for you!

[Rainbow Dash gives a fist pump while Steele and Haruka exchange a competitive glance]

Stella, Antoine, Blitz, Rarity, Panther, Barbie, Pink, Velvette, Cinderella, Quinn, Da Vinci, and Top Cat, you're on the Test of Style!

Rarity: Top Cat? Why are you in this contest?

Top Cat: I tried to book for skill, but there were no slots left…besides, I think I've got enough sense to know what looks good.

Velvette: Oh yes, the street urchin knows a thing about fashion sense.

Barbie: Well, I say anyone can design if they put their mind to it. So why not?

Tony: And finally; Robin Hood, Mulan, Merida, Kyoko, Fox, Angelina, Katz, Colleen, Mao Mao, Jake, Starlight, and Tramp. Your event is the Test of Skill!

[Starlight gives an odd look to Angelina and Kyoko]

Tony: Your events will go in order; Strength, Speed, Style, and Skill. The first one is at twelve o'clock sharp.

Katz: So the lot of us are just sitting around for six hours…

Quinn: [shrugs] At least it'll give me time to prepare my designs.

Chance: Huh, it's more than enough for me.

Fox: As they say, pride comes before a fall.

Tony: Now then, everyone, go out there and put on a grrrrrrreat show!

Chance: Heh, knew he'd say that. Never gets old.

Jasper: Oh, brother…

[Cut to Daria and Jane sitting up in the audience]

Jane: Care to explain how you ditched an opportunity to compete while letting Quinn snag it?

Daria: Simple; I don't do sports, even if style somehow qualifies as one by this event's definition. Besides, aren't you a runner?

Jane: Hmmm, true, then again, going up against three or four OP hedgehogs isn't worth the humiliation.

Daria: Oh boy, I wonder who will win in that competition, couldn't be any of them.

[Interview: Quinn]

Quinn: I know people think it's risky going up against some of the biggest names of fashion, but I prefer to challenge myself. If I don't, then I'm setting myself up to be overlooked, and as an aspiring fashion designer, I need to prepare myself.

[Interview: Wolf]

Wolf: I know people are looking at me like I'm crazy going into a competition against bodybuilders, but I've got more than enough meat on these bones. I don't just know how to deal with people in the air, or with a blaster, they know better than to mess with this.

[Wolf points to his flexed arm]

[Interview: Panther]

Panther: It truly is an honor to compete alongside the greats, and with my leader no less. Of course, I don't expect an easy victory. So, I need to be ready for whatever's thrown at yours truly. But not to worry, my feline charm is bound to prove handy.

[Interview: Drago]

Drago: I imagine many people would think I'd never get chosen for something like this, but that's the beauty of blissful ignorance. You get to pull the wool over people's eyes and tell them, guess again, plebs. Not to mention, I got a prize waiting anyways once this is over.

[Interview: Pink Panther]

Pink: What most don't know about me is that I happen to have a rather high sense of fashion. I've tailored my own suits and slacks, with the finest thread in the market. No surprise when you've got a diamond to your name.

[Cut to a military drum being played as the troops from Pine HQ file into the center of the stadium, General Pepper is shown leading the march while his lieutenant William "Bill" Grey can be seen in the first rank of officers]

[Bill looks to his left and sees Fox among the competitors, he glances a smile and a friendly wave in the vulpine's direction]

[Behind the canine officers are the feline officers flanked by the Megakat Enforcers; Commander Ulysses Feral, his niece Lieutenant Felina Feral, and the Commander's second aid; Lieutenant Jonathan Steel. The dark orange feline smirks as the crowd cheers their arrival]

Steel: Hmmhmmhmm, exactly what I like to hear.

Feral: Remember, we're here as a tribute, not show off.

Steel: Lighten up a little, Commander, it's not often you get to be in the spotlight.

Feral: Generally speaking, I prefer to be away from it all, those incessant cameras never capture my good side.

Felina: Perhaps it would help if you smiled a little more. Show us those pearly whites, uncle.

Feral: Hooooo, you and your ideas…

[We cut to a pair of sharp shoes and black slacks before panning up to reveal a stout gentleman in a top hat, with a referee's whistle around his neck. Four soldiers, decked in blue, red, green, and white, stand behind him with their firearms shouldered. He stands up to the podium and clears his throat]

STH: Contestants, man your stations for the first event!

[Colonel, Sergeant Major Tibbs, and Captain stand up to the podium themselves as the old sheepdog turns to the soldiers]

Colonel: AHERHRM! Preeeeeeeeeeesent ARMS!

[The soldiers lift their arms to the center]

Captain: Take aim!

[The troops aim their guns up at the sky]

Tibbs: Ready…FIRE!

[The guns go off in rapid succession, signaling the start of the competition as the crowd cheers in anticipation]

[We cut to the twelve participants gathered for the first event while the other thirty-six are watching from the sidelines]

Snagglepuss: Our first competition will be the test of strength. The objective is to carry a 100 lb barbell while carrying an excess of 50 lbs around their waist across the field to the blue flag.

Mildew: And then they'll come back to the checkered flag at the finish line. The first three to cross will earn a spot on the podium.

Snagglepuss: I'm here with the acclaimed Olympic champion, the demigod Hercules himself. Tell me, how likely are your chances of winning?

Hercules: Well, as someone with immeasurable strength like myself, I would say this contest is practically a steal. Not that my competition is slacking by any means, I'm sure they'll all prepped hard to get here.

Mildew: In that case, let's see what some of the contestants make of it.

[We cut between several interviews with the microphone placed in the bottom right of the screen]

Jasper: Pretty boy's going down, and so are the rest.

Exile: Is it not impractical to pit demigod against mortals?

Buster: Listen, I'm gonna be straight up, I don't care who's got super strength, I've been bustin' my ass for this spot and I am not gonna take it lyin' down.

[We cut to the crowd focusing on Lady, Jenna, and Krystal in particular]

Jenna: Well, would you look at that? The boys are competing against each other again, only this time, they're not at each other's throats.

Lady: Hmmmm, I have a feeling that Tramp's going to pull one of his wild cards. Knowing this kind of event, I wouldn't be surprised if some of that past finess came back to him.

Krystal: I would have rather liked to have been in the actual contest, but I'm happy for Fox. At least he'll get to represent the team in some capacity.

[We cut to the contestants for the strength competition gathering at the start line with a barbell consisting of 100 lbs while they clip a chain around their waistlines with a rolling 50 lbs]

Chance: This ain't exactly what I'd call normal…

Wolf: Ironic given the stories I've heard from the guys in your sector.

Tai Lung: …Ugh, this thing wasn't built for comfort, obviously.

Johnny: Hooooo, man, if this scuffs ma' waist, I'm gonna need a masseuse after this.

Knuckles: It's always about looks with you pretty boys, isn't it?

Johnny: It takes a lotta time ta' be as good lookin' at this, bonus if ya' know how ta' lift.

Buster: [under his breath] And take steroids.

Arnold: You weina' dogs are all going to be eating mein dust once this is ova'.

Buster: Oh you ain't knockin' me down so easily, I came here ta' win and that's exactly what I'm gonna do.

Applejack: You'll have ta' put yer money where your mouth is, partner.

Drago: Pfft, piece of cake if ya' ask me.

[Drago looks over to the crowd to see if he can spot any familiar faces, he manages to spot Guntiver with the rest of the Arctic Freedom Fighters and the former Mobius Seven. He gives a wink to which Guntiver gives a toothy grin back and Sleuth gives a coy brow]

[Tony approaches the contestants with a green flag in hand, they all ready themselves to start]

[Cut to Tai Lung narrowing his eyes, Jasper gritting her teeth, Hercules giving a sideglance, Chance taking a breath, Buster pursuing his lips, and Wolf bearing his teeth]

[Tony blows his whistle and waves the flag]

[The contestants strain over the starting line and make it their mission to pull ahead of one another. Hercules and Jasper seem to be having little issue with the weight on their shoulders, Applejack digs her boots into the grass, and Exile huffs as he pulls]

"We're off to a great start! Hercules and Jasper have taken the lead, but Tai Lung and Buster are right on their tails! Knuckles and Applejack are duking it out to pull ahead, but Wolf is having none of that!"

[Johnny and Arnold struggle to pull ahead of one another while Exile grits his teeth, Drago growls, Knuckles snarls, and 'Applejack narrows her eyes]

[Chance, Wolf, and Buster are locked in a three-way tie as Tai Lung just barely inches ahead of them while Jasper and Hercules eye each other suspiciously]

"Tai Lung's trying to break the middle ground between the two leads and the trio! Oh, careful, Buster's comin' up behind you!"

[The snow leopard looks back to see the Doberman mix inching closer towards him. Tai Lung grits his teeth while trying to retain his composure]

Tai Lung: This one is mine, street smarts!

Buster: So you say, spots!

"Hercules is the first to make it past the first flag!"

Tai Lung: Damn it!

[Tai Lung goes into high gear as he drags himself past the flag right after Jasper]

"Oooooh, look at this! Buster's moving past Wolf and Chance and is going for Tai Lung and Jasper!"
Jasper: What?!

[Jasper notices Hercules almost three-quarters to the finish line and she snarls]

Jasper: Oh hell no!

[Jasper strains on her weights while Tai Lung and Buster try to pass her, but the orange gem manages to catch up with the Greek demigod]

Hercules: Huh, I see you're not slacking.

Jasper: Save it, curly! You might have godly powers, but guess what…?

Hercules: …What?

Jasper: So! Do! I!

[With a mighty heave, Jasper strains ahead of Hercules, much to his surprise]

"Ooooh! In a stunning turn of events, Jasper's pulling ahead, and-OH YES! SHE'S DONE! Jasper crosses first!"

[Jasper gives a big sigh of relief as she throws down her barbell and swings her chain weight off]

[Cut to Lapis watching from the sidelines before giving a smile while the Crystal Gems in the audience are shown giving polite applause amidst the cheers and whistles]

[Interview: Lapis]

Lapis: Did I know that Jasper was gonna win? Against someone like Hercules, I was sure it would be a challenge. But, lo and behold, I was proven wrong. And honestly, good for her.

[The large screen above the stadium shows the results;

Johnny: Aaaaaaah, man, that ain't a good look for me.

[Johnny pulls out a mirror to check himself]

Johnny: Hmmm, at least it didn't take too much outta ma' appearance.

Wolf: Hrrrrrmmm…I suppose you can't win them all…

Buster: Hey, you put up a good fight, I'll give ya' that.

Wolf: Same to you.

[The top three are given their respective medals; bronze for Tai Lung, silver for Hercules, and gold for Jasper. The gem looks down at her medal with indifference at first…but then a smile creeps across her face]

[Tai Lung looks down at his necklace with a sigh]

Tai Lung: How pitiful…

[Tai looks off to the side and notices Panther giving him a thumbs up and a wink. The snow leopard's stoic expression softens a bit before the inching of a smile comes over his muzzle]

[Cut to the Diamonds glancing at one another]

Yellow: Hmmmm, I suppose it's a start, one of our own managed to win the first event.

Blue: Perhaps…this will provide some form of entertainment, at least from my perspective.

White: I say it was inevitable, put one of the strongest gems against a supposed "demigod" and the results will speak for themselves.

Spinel: Eh, I'd say it was pretty amusing seein' Jasper clench that win, takin' Curly by surprise.

[Cut to the audience in the stadium]

Peridot: AHEM, judging by Jasper's success in her event, I think it's accurate to assume that Lapis will also win hers.

Amethyst: Hmmmm, I'll give ya' that.

[Amethyst munches on a set of nachos she bought amidst several other snacks gathered around her and the gems. Pearl cringes at this]

Pearl: Amethyst. Did you have to buy all this…stuff?

Amethyst: Chillax, Pearl. We're gonna be here for several hours, might as well pack down what we can.

Pearl: You know that most of us don't eat, right?

Amethyst: [shrugs] Eh.

[Amethyst goes back to her nachos]

Garnet: Ironic, I went from fighting Jasper to supporting her…eh, it happens.

[The scene cuts back to the competitors for the strength challenge mingling with one another]

Applejack: You put up a mighty good fight out there, partner.

Knuckles: I suppose you did good as well.

Arnold: HMPH! Dis is bogus…

Exile: Maybe for you, comrade, I am just glad I got to compete. Now then, if you don't mind, I have business to attend to.

[Arnold pushes down his sunglasses to see Exile approaching Blitz while Wolf approaches Fox]

Fox: So, fifth place then?

Wolf: Don't rub it in, we've yet to see how well you'll do in your event.

Fox: Hmmmm, I suppose so. Either way, you pulled quite a sweat back.

Wolf: Got a good enough view, didn't ya', pup?

Fox: Mind yourself, Romeo, there's children in the audience.

Wolf: Fair enough, I'll save it for afterward.

[Cut to Panther and Tai Lung]

Panther: That bronze doesn't look too bad on you.

Tai: It's merely a trife reward…

Panther: Well, at the very least, there's still my event to go through, so perhaps I'll win it for both of us. Besides, I intend to treat you afterwards for your efforts.

Tai: Hmmmm…in that case, I appreciate the sentiment…hmmhmmhmm, and at least I got to be on the roster alongside you.

Panther: That's the spirit, querido.

[We cut to Ann Gora standing amongst some of the audience members]

Ann: As we prepare for the next event, we thought we'd ask the audience for their thoughts on the competition.

[Ann lowers the microphone to Fiona]

Ann: Tell us, who do you think has the best chance in the test of speed?

Fiona: All I can say is that it's still crazy to see Scourge in a thing like this, but then again, the guy was always known for pulling risky things. If he wins…well, more power to him.

[We cut to the Hazbin gang with the Suppression Squad]

Angel Dust: So, who's bettin' the lean mean lima bean pullin' dis off?

Husk: If he's meant ta' be the mirror to the so-called "fastest thing alive", I wouldn't be surprised if they were evenly matched.

Nifty: I hope he crushes his competition into the dirt!

Rosy: Oh, they'll probably crush him before he gets the chance.

Alicia: He'd better give some kind of results, otherwise, this'll be a complete waste of time.

Patch: Trust me, it is already going to be a pain watching you-know-who flanting about.

Boomer: Like you would have been a better option.

Patch: Well, no use in you trying out for any of this, not even style would be able to fit you in.

Boomer: That's ironic coming from the eye who looks like a pirate.

Buns: Can both of you please pack it in, I'm ratha' invested in somethin' that ain't just fightin'.

Miles: Scourge truly is running the risk going up against some of this lot…then again, a handful of them would hardly be an issue. Quite a few are rather pathetic, actually.

O'Nux: If he does pull it off, then blow me down. If it doesn't…well, that's on him, isn't it?

[The scene transitions to the start of the speed competition from left to right the contestants are gathered in preparation; Hunter, Lapis, Speedy, Roadrunner, Haruka, Shadow, Sonic, Silver, Scourge, Rainbow Dash, Balto, Steele]

[The Malamute narrows his eyes at the four hedgehogs in particular]

Steele: Those hedgehogs are going down, one way or another.

Balto: Best not to get your hopes up too soon.

Steele: Oh, and you intend on giving the win?

Balto: Of course not, I'm just planning on pacing myself. No need to exert myself so soon.

Steele: You say that now, and you'll end up too far behind. And I'd rather you lose to me than the donut steels.

Shadow: You know, you could try to be a little more subtle when you insult people.

Steele: You are as far from subtle as one could imagine, edgelord.

[Shadow breathes in and then out]

Shadow: [thinking] "Pay no mind, his pride will be his downfall."

[Cut to the Sailor Guardians in the audience, Michiru and Setsuna are sitting on opposite sides of Hotaru while the Inners are lined up in order of their debut]

Usagi: I can't wait to see Haruka win! I know she's got the wind at her back!

Makoto: Oh, I'm sure she'll give everyone a run for their money!

Minako: By the power of love, she'll win for her girlfriends!

Rei: [sighs] Can you all sit down, there's no need to make a scene.

Ami: I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but she's up against some of the biggest names in racing.

Rei: Of course, put her against four hedgehogs that are literally known for being the fastest things alive.

Usagi: Oh…well, I'm sure she won't have that much of an issue, especially if they don't allow things like superspeed.

Michiru: Whatever the result, I know that Haruka will come out on top. She always puts on a brave face…a brave, beautiful face…

[We cut to Michiru's perspective as Haruka looks in her direction, giving a wink. The Guardian of Neptune sighs romantically at this while Setsuna is blushing alongside her]

Setsuna: She really is quite gracious, isn't she?

Michiru: I would certainly know, hmmhmmhmm.

[Cut to Chibiusa's face flushing bright red at the implications before Hotaru turns to her with a smile]

Hotaru: Trust me, I hear it all the time.

Chibiusa: I'm sure you do…

[Cut to the Guardian of Uranus warming up with some stretches]

[Interview: Haruka]

Haruka: Having been a racecar driver for years, I never forget to appreciate the relief that comes from a good long run. Sure, the competition might look stiff, but it's nothing that I can't handle.

[Tony approaches the contestants with his flag and whistle while Snagglepuss and Mildew are standing by to do their commentary]

Mildew: Tell me, Snag, what kind of antics are these silly savages gettin' up to here?

Snagglepuss: It's very simple, Mildew, the racers will run five laps around this track to determine the winner. But here's the catch; there's to be no use of superpowers, or anything along those lines.

Hunter: AHEM! Of course not…

Speedy: Ey, hombre, I don't need no boost. They don't call me Speedy Gonzales for nothing.

Rainbow Dash: That's nothing compared to me! I've got this one in the bag.

Roadrunner: Meep-meep!

[Lapis rolls her eyes while Scourge just gives an odd look]

[Interview: Scourge]

Scourge: Yeah, can I just state for the record that a good chunk of these people are complete wannabes? I mean, a blonde retriever, a pegasus splashed with Skittles, and a mouse with a sombero? I know that sounds rich coming from me, but still.

[Cut back to the contestants ready to start the race as Tony lifts the flag]

Tony: Racers! On your marks! Get set!

[Cut to Steele narrowing his eyes, followed by Balto, then Sonic, then Shadow, then Haruka, then Scourge]

[Tony waves the flag down]

Tony: GO!

[The runners jet off from the starting line for the first lap]

"And they're off! Sonic starting off with a strong lead, but Shadow's keeping pace with him! Meanwhile, Roadrunner and Speedy Gonzales are catching up, but Rainbow Dash is putting up a fight!"

Rainbow Dash: No offense, old timers, but this one's mine!

Speedy: So you say, amgia!

Roadrunner: Meep-meep!

[Scourge and Steele narrow their eyes as they try to pass each other before Haruka comes sprinting up behind them]

"And with the first lap down, it's neck and neck between Sonic and Shadow, followed by Silver and Rainbow Dash! But uh-oh, what's this?!"

[Roadrunner has stopped in the middle of his tracks to peck down on a pile of birdseed as the other racers rush by]

"Roadrunner's taking an impromptu snack on the track!

[Cut to Wile in the audience as Pepe and Sylvester glance at him]

Wile: Just to be clear, that wasn't my doing.

Speedy: Hehehe, hermano, you can't keep falling for that! AY!

"Oooooooooh, Speedy trips and collides with Hunter and Lapis!"

[The water gem, golden retriever, and Mexican mouse are shown toppled in a pile before Lapis manages to pick herself up]

Lapis: Mind where you're stepping!

[Hunter rubs his head while Speedy groans beneath him]

Hunter: If there were things I wish I could predict…this would be one of them…oh, the race!

[Speedy gasps as Hunter picks himself up in a flash before heading back onto the track]

Speedy: ¡Oh, tienes que estar bromeando!

[Rainbow Dash looks back at the mess as the third lap begins]

Rainbow Dash: What did I say? I've got this one covered!

"And here comes Rainbow Dash starting strong in the third round, gaining on the hedgehogs!"

Rainbow Dash: Hey, Sonic, get ready to eat my dust!

Sonic: Hey, Dash, might wanna mind the bar!

Rainbow Dash: [raises brow] What bar?

[RD looks ahead and barely has time to react as several bars have been placed over the track. The pegasus just barely clears her bar before stumbling on the other side, just as some of the other racers pass by, including a cheeky Lapis Lazuli]

Rainbow Dash: Oh, come on!

"Oooooooh, Dash is gonna need to make up for lost time there as we head into the fourth round, Silver is squeezed between Balto and Steele while Scourge is trying to stay ahead!"

Scourge: [panting] Come on…come on…

[Cut to Scourge's POV as we see him trying to overtake Sonic and Shadow as it cuts to the Suppression and Hazbin crews watching with intent]

Angel Dust: C'mon, lean, mean, and dangerous~

Niffty: Show 'em what for!

[Cut to Team Sonic along with the Freedom Fighters that weren't selected for the roster]

Tails: Go get 'em, Sonic!

Amy: You can do it!

Rouge: Hey, Mr. Ultimate Life Form! I'm placing bets on you!

"As the racers enter the fifth lap, it's proving to be a tight one between the hedgehogs! But who will be the first to cross the finish line?!"

[Scourge growls as he closes in on Sonic before just barely edging in front of him, much to the blue hedgehog's surprise]

Scourge: That's it…just gotta…pass…

[Just as Scourge inches closer towards Shadow, Haruka suddenly pulls up alongside him, much to his shock]

Scourge: What the?!

[Haruka barely acknowledges Scourge as her eyes are locked on Shadow before we cut to the finish line with Tony waving the checkered flag]

"And that's Shadow the Hedgehog claiming first place in the Test of Speed!"

[Cut to the placement board on the giant monitor;

Daffy: Hahaha! And down goes Gonzales!

Sylvester: And what do you know, so does the Roadrunner.

Wile: Oh, he'll feel better once I'm done with him.

Bugs: [shrugs] Whateva' you say, doc.

[Cut to the contestants catching their breath, particularly on Scourge as he clutches his chest]

Scourge: Damn…I can't remember the last time I excerised…

[Lapis merely struggles her arms]

Lapis: Eh, whatever.

[Haruka gives a sigh, followed by a grin]

Haruka: And that's how it's done.

Shadow: Hmmm, as expected, my victory was inevitable. But, I will commend you, I don't think I've seen someone who glides like the wind as you do.

[Cut to the Hazbin/Suppression Crew]

Husker: Okay, third place…not as pissy as I was expectin'.

Charlie: At least he'll get to stand on the podium. Besides, I commend his efforts.

[Alastor notices something out of the corner of his eye, causing him to raise a brow]

Alastor: Folks, don't look now, but to your left, you'll find Modern Day Distraction and Pansy.

[Zoom over to Vox and Valentino sitting several rows away alongside the SWAT Kat baddies]

Vox: Would ya' look at that, Val. If it isn't Hell's little Care Bears.

Valentino: I see they were too pussy to send one of their own in the show, not like us.

Vox: I mean, can you seriously imagine any a' those twinks competing? HAHAHA, that'd be fucking hilarious!

Valentino: They probably couldn't even get into the fashion show, they all look like shit!

[Vox and Valentino laugh amongst each other before the scene cuts to the three contestants receiving their medals at the podium, once again, gold for Shadow, silver for Haruka, and bronze for Scourge. The green hedgehog looks down at the medal with a scowl]

Scourge: Finitevus is prolly shit-grinning from the benches, I just know he is.

[Sure enough, the albino echidna is looking quite bemused from the circumstances. Cut back to Scourge as he looks around at the rest of the competition. He then looks down at his medal once more]

Scourge: Hmm…least I got something to show for it.

[Hunter is shown conversing with Exile, Blitz, and Colleen]

Hunter: 10th place again? We gotta step our game up, Blitz, Colleen. It's all on you two now.

Colleen: What I don't understand is how he got accepted into a fashion show of all things? Have you ever designed clothes before?

Blitz: Does modeling after polaroids count?

Colleen: We're doomed, well, for the style challenge anyways.

Blitz: I might not the most "fashionable" or whateva', but I intend to put my all into it, no matter what they plan to throw at me.

Exile: Whatever it is, I'm sure it will look decent, at least to me.

[Blitz tilts his head at an angle and gives a modest blush]

[Cut to Rarity chatting with Stella]

Rarity: With a challenge focused on fashion, there's no way we can possibly lose.

Stella: Too right, dawling. We might be at odds, but what do you say? May the best woman win?

Rarity: From one fashionista to another, I can agree to that.

[Rarity and Stella extend their hands to shake on it, before Velvette passes by with a haughty expression]

Velvette: Aha, what a bunch of glittery whores.

[Interview: Velvette]

Velvette: Trust me when I say that I'm hardly intimidated. I mean, just lookit some of the blokes I'm up against. They had to drag in literal street trash to fill a slot. So yeah, I've got this one; hook, line, and sinker.

[Transition to the next event as the contestants are lined up for the Test of Style]

Snagglepuss: Now then, for a personal favorite of mine, it's time to see which of you is the most fashionable, creative, artistic even.

Top Cat: Question; why are there twelve rows of tracks conveniently set up?

Mildew: That brings us to the twist in this challenge, you all won't just be designing dresses…

[The contestants look confused until a large door opens up from the side of the stadium and several engines come out of the tunnel, in four sets of three; Thomas, Percy, and James, Gordon, Henry, and Edward, Emily, Toby, and Duck, Donald, Douglas, and Oliver. Each locomotive stops beside one another on their respective sidings]

[The contestants all look rather stunned before Velvette asks the obvious question]

Velvette: Um…what the hell is this?

Snagglepuss: For your challenge; you will all choose several buckets of paint to give these engines a fresh look. And here it comes now!

[Cut to Diesel shunting the flatbed of paint cans on the straight row of track]

Diesel: I don't know whether to call this a blessing or a curse…

Rarity: Um…okay, this wasn't what I had in mind.

Quinn: Excuse me, will we at least be wearing aprons? I didn't exactly plan on getting paint on this outfit.

Mildew: You didn't take us for being cruel, did ya', savages?

[Snagglepuss rolls a set of aprons on hangers for the contestants to wear. Da Vinci seems to be the least perturbed by all this]

[Interview: Da Vinci]

Da Vinci: This actually works out for me. I'm generally the artist of my family, so getting to paint a locomotive isn't all that different from what I do. I guess you could call this a lucky break for me.

[Interview: Velvette]

Velvette: Do I look like a bloody engineer?! I design dresses, skirts, lingerie, I don't paint f*king trains! I…okay, calm, calm…it's alright, I've dealt with worse before…I'm still gonna clinch this.

[Interview: Blitz]

Blitz: Okay, so painting a locomotive should be easier than designing an outfit, at least, I think it should. Perhaps it will give me some more creative freedom.

[Interview: Antoine]

Antoine: Contrary to what some may think, I have a particular attention to detail. Whether it's my own sword, my uniform, or in this case, painting an engine. An interesting task, but not one that I can't manage.

[Cut to the contestants grabbing their aprons which also includes a card for which engine they will be painting;

Snagglepuss: As a sidenote, the halftime show will be playing over the event for some extra entertainment.

Mildew: Really, it's only so that people aren't bored to death watching paint dry.

[The contestants grab the paint cans from the flatbed, as well as the brushes supplied in addition to buckets of water. Some options are more obvious than others]

[Gordon gives a suspicious eye]

Gordon: Do try to make look at least somewhat dignified.

James: You won't mess with my paintwork too much, right?

Percy: Oh, you can paint whatever you want on me, so long as it looks good.

Quinn: Trust me, anything that comes to my mind looks good.

[Cut to Daria and Jane]

Daria: Would you look at that? My little sister's moving up in the world.

Jane: Ah yes, instead of working for Gucci or Versace, she's painting trains.

Daria: It's enough to bring a tear to my eye.

[Tony blows the whistle to start the event. As the contestants begin to paint their designs, the acts for the halftime show play over them as a montage spliced between the competition on the monitor]

[Transition to Troubleshoes Clyde somewhat anxiously singing alongside Feather Bangs who is swaggering about the stage]

Troubleshoes: Oh, you'd better be good to be me

[A dash of red is applied to Gordon's boiler, while a streak of violet is applied over Donald, followed by a streak of blue on Douglas' tender. In the audience, Svengallop and James Kristal exchange a positive glance at each other about the performance]

[Transition to Trixie performing a flashy rendition of "Applause" in her magician outfit, during which she winks at Starlight standing on the sidelines]

[A darker shade of green is applied onto Henry's boiler, followed by a different shade of blue on Edward's tender, and then a streak of lilac running down Percy's saddletanks]

[Soon, it's time for the designs to be judged. Celestia, Luna, and Cadence have been selected to approve of who will enter the top three. They walk past the designs with the engines in numerical order]

Da Vinci: I took a bit of inspiration from Van Gogh with this one.

[Indeed, Thomas' boiler appears to be almost a direct translation from one of the famous artist's pieces]

Cinderella: I decided to go retro with this one, with some illustrator's inspiration.

[Contrast to Edward's normal livery, the one he's sporting appears to be from the Gunvor and Peter Edwards' illustrations of the RWS]

Stella: I thought I would make the big guy stand out a little more, with some Solarian decals.

[Henry now dons a shade of sparkling metallic green with an elegant sun emblem on one side of his tender, with an equally detailed moon emblem on the other side]

Panther: Seeing as this one's carried the English Monarchy, I thought it was only fitting.

[In addition to a consistent string of roses along his boiler, Gordon has the Royal Coat of Arms painted on either side of him, along with a rose red outline on his number four]

Blitz: I call this one, "The Homage to Germany".

[James has streaks of yellow and black in between his red paint in a consistent pattern, along with two sets of flags on his bufferbeam sporting the German colors]

Quinn: You might call it basic, but I decided to go with something that I thought suited him.

[Percy now has lilac paint around his boiler while donning golden stripes]

Barbie: I call it; "Neopolitian: Tramway Style."

[Toby has strands of cream and pink in between his brown bodywork, giving off the appearance of a familiar ice cream pattern]

Velvette: If you thought I was going for "edgy", think again and feast your eyes on this!

[As opposed to his usual green livery, Duck now has a striking deep red paint scheme, with his GWR lettering now in bold grey letters]

Top Cat: I thought I'd include some memories of the Big Apple inta' this one.

[Donald now dons a dark violet hue with yellow stripes, while his tender has several symbols of New York City splashed on it]

Antoine: If this doesn't capture the spirit of France, I don't know what does.

[Douglas sports a livery of French blue with white lining along with the Fleur de Lis on his tender]

Pink Panther: It's a rather handsome livery, wouldn't you say?

[Oliver's once green paint scheme is now a promient magenta]

Rarity: I knew how to make her pop, per se, so that's exactly why I did.

[Emily has a streak of golden flowers and vines all across her boiler, with a river running around the number twelve on her tender. Additionally, atop her smokebox and under her railing is a crown emblem]

[The Equestrian royals turn to one another to debate while the contestants are left with bated breath. The three alicorns finally turn to address the participants]

Celestia: After much consideration, we ranked the designs based on creativity and originality.

Luna: Some of you definitely succeeded more in that area compared to others.

Cadence: In any case, we hope you take our results into account and don't mean it as a slight against your characters.

[The results are shown being updated on the board, the contestants watching with either hope or anxiety. The results are in;

Dolly: That's what I'm talkin' about, Da Vinci!

Dylan: Great job, sis!

Bunnie: Ride 'em high, Antoine!

Sally: I'll admit, he does know how to make French Blue work on something.

Rotor: Ah yes, like that new jacket of yours, eh, Sal?

[Sally playfully nudges Rotor]

Sally: Oh, shush.

Bunnie: Hmmhmmhmm, that's what I like about the man, he can be a warrior one minute, and then be an artist.

[Cut to the other members of the Mane Six]

Pinkie: See, what did I tell ya'? I had a feeling Rarity would come in clutch for us!

Fluttershy: Well, I would say that Rainbow Dash and Applejack put up a good fight themselves.

Twilight: True, and all that's left is Starlight for her event. Knowing her, she'll probably pull some kind of spectacle.

[The top three are being awarded their medals, Rarity and Stella share a glance of comradery with their gold and silver, while Velvette merely looks down at her bronze before looking at the camera]

Velvette: Oh, like some stupid painting show means anything, I'm still the best in my business. Besides, red looks good on anyone.

[Cut to the engines making their way back to the sidings where they can see the rest of the show]

Oliver: I don't think this color really suits me…

Douglas: Och, the blue is nice, but I think I'll stick with black. How about you, Donnie?

Donald: Aye, purple makes for a change, but nothin' beats black ta' me. Besides, I prefer us matchin' liveries.

Gordon: Hmmmm…I suppose it could have been worse…

[James looks back on his paintwork]

James: At least it's not as bad as the bumblebee livery…

Henry: You know, I rather like this new coat of paint. I think it makes me stand out.

Thomas: I think I stand out a little too much…

Duck: I'll say, thank Swindon I didn't get turned into some gaudy livery. Least my Great Western pride is still intact.

Percy: Lilac is…different, I'll give it that.

Edward: I suppose going retro was a little too plain…either way, I appreciate the handiwork.

Toby: I think I'll just stick with brown, I don't think I could work in this paint scheme.

Emily: I think I look rather immaculate, these patterns are so beautiful. I think they really make my brass shine.

[The engines rejoin their companions in the sidings as Toby notices Henrietta giving him a look]

Henrietta: Yeah…you're not keeping that.

Toby: Glad to see we're the same page, as per usual.

[Oliver passes Bill and Ben who can hardly contain their giggling]

Bill: Look, Ben, it's a strawberry on wheels.

Ben: I was thinking he looked more like a bottle of medicine.

[Oliver rolls his eyes at the twins before parking himself next to his brakevan, Toad]

Toad: If it's any consolation, Mr. Oliver, I think you look decent in pink.

[Oliver sighs and then gives a small smile]

Oliver: I appreciate the gesture, Toad.

[Cut to the contestants conversing amongst one another, Panther, Blitz, Antoine, and Top Cat appear to be laughing about something while Cindereella is chatting it up with Barbie, along with Quinn speaking to Stella. Rarity and Pink Panther are conversing with those on the other events, Pink with Arnold and Rarity with Applejack]

Applejack: That gold looks mighty pretty on you, Rare.

Rarity: Why thank you, darling.

[Cut to Antoine making his way through the film when Sonic comes alongside him]

Sonic: Would ya' look at that, competing together as opposed to against one another.

Antoine: That is what you call progression, mon ami.

[Cut to the contestants for the final event glancing at each other, Katz in particular narrows his eyes with Kyoko by his side]

Kyoko: And just what's crawled up your ass?

Katz: I meant what I said earlier, I'm not leaving this competition without gaining first place, no matter what it takes.

Kyoko: Uh-huh, is that meant to be a threat?

Katz: I'm sure you're smart enough to figure it out.

Kyoko: In that case, I'm just gonna try harder so that it's not a cakewalk for you.

Merida: Och, what's all this here?

Kyoko: Edgelord here thinks he can sweep this game over all of us.

Merida: Pfft, that's nothin', I've been training for somethin' like this ma' whole life, and I'm not about to be outdone by a bureacrat.

Katz: In that case, prepare to set yourself up for failure, "lassie".

Merida: Ey, watch it, scarlet fever, there's more than a few ways ta' skin a cat.

Starlight: Besides, are you really sure you can win with those skinny arms?

Katz: Says the former cult leader.

[Starlight gives an unamused sneer in response]

Starlight: I know someone who owned man-eating spiders isn't one to talk about morality.

Mao Mao: Everyone knows that the side of justice will always prevail, that's the motto of a legendary hero.

Katz: Mao Mao…for the love of all that is holy, shut up about that hero nonsense.

Mao Mao: Of course it's nonsense to someone who's my polar opposite.

Katz: You are just as culpable of being morally questionable, especially with the stunts you've pulled.

Mulan: Can we not bite each other's heads off? This is meant to be a normal competition. Besides, anger clouds judgement and cognitive thought.

Fox: She's not wrong, best save that energy when we're out on the field.

Colleen: In that case, I intend to wipe the floor with you lot.

Tramp: Aha, if you think you can keep up with me, of course. I've been doing this stunt for years now.

Jake: That may be so, but you're up against an prior Enforcer.

Angelina: Not to mention someone's who's trained both in ballet and gymnastics.

[Katz merely looks at the camera with an unamused expression]

[Interview: Katz]

Katz: As someone who has been denied the victory he deserves for far too long, I mean it when I say that I am putting my all into this challenge. My opposition might appear like it poses an issue, but quite frankly, I don't care if they're Robin Hood, Mulan, or that Kyoko. One way or another, that gold medal is going to be mine.

[Interview: Kyoko]

Kyoko: Yeah, I can tell some of the people here are pretty egotistical, though I can't really say much since I like to flex myself. Either way, I think I stand a pretty good chance at winning. Hey, if I can handle all that's been thrown my way thus far, how much harder could this be?

[Interview: Fox]

Fox: You know, this takes me back to my days in the academy, we had to go through an obstacle course in case of doing missions on the ground. So I reckon I might have a shot at this.

[Cut to the contestants for the test of skill preparing for their challenge as Wolf comes up to Fox]

Wolf: Nervous, pup?

Fox: Not exactly, just making sure I know what I'm doing.

Wolf: In any case, try to win this one for us. We've been doing a bit…pissy in that area.

Fox: Yeah, well, I'll see what I can do.

[Cut to the rest of the Star Fox team in the bleachers]

Falco: So, how much you wanna bet Fox pulls this off?

Peppy: Must we make this into a wager? I'm confident in the boy's abilities.

Falco: Hmmhmm, you make him sound like a kit.

Peppy: Well, if you knew the full history between us, you'd understand it.

Slippy: I think Fox could pull it off, after all, he's been our leader for the longest time.

Falco: Yeah, true, maybe he's still got it…cuz if not, I'll probably rib him for it.

[The scene pans over to Leon watching from a distance]

Leon: Hmmmm, 5th place and 7th place…knowing them, they'll probably hold it over our heads if Fox wins…then again, I assume they're mature by this point.

[The scene transitions to the start of the final challenge as the crowd is bursting with anticipation. Ann Gora is standing next to Snagglepuss and Mildew to get the scoop]

Ann: I'm here with the announcers for the finale, what can you tell us about this challenge?

Snagglepuss: Why yes, Miss Ann. The contestants will run through five courses;

[As Snagglepuss talks, we get a view of each obstacle that the consonants will go through]

To start off, they will make a leap over the sand pit, before they make their way over a jungle gym.

Mildew: They'll next have to climb up the platform and navigate the foam spinners before jumping over a gap, unless they want an early bath in the pool below.

Snagglepuss: And, to make this interesting, the first two across the finish line will engage in a duel atop the next platform, gladiator style. The last person to tap out is the winner of the challenge.

Ann: Well, you've certainly got the audience on the edge of their seats as they're going crazy.

[Cut to a panover of the audience as many of them are cheering, clapping, or whistling]

Yogi: Let's go out with a bang, yeah-he-hey!

[Tramp is about to join the others to start the challenge when Buster comes up alongside him]

Buster: Ready ta' smoke these bozos?

Tramp: As ready as I'll ever be, this canine's still in his prime.

[Tramp gives a wink to the crowd as we cut to Scamp sitting with the Dalmatian family, in between Patch and Penny while Annette, Colette, and Danielle are sitting on either side of Lucky and Rolly, with Lady to the right alongside Jenna, Krystal, Peg, Jock, and Trusty]

[Cut to Homura, Madoka, Sayaka, and Mami]

Homura: Well, I guess we'll see if Kyoko's enthusiasm for this whole thing pays off.

Sayaka: Of course it will, I know she's gonna kick ass out there. You go, girl!

[Kyoko notices this out of the corner of her eye and gives a smirk of approval]

Madoka: You know, I'm happy for her, she's getting her chance to shine and in front of a crowd.

Mami: With that confidence in mind, I imagine she'll have a decent opportunity to crush the rest of the competition.

Homura: Hmmm…I suppose I can give her that, she's worthy of it.

Sayaka: Not bitter that you didn't get to be in her spot, eh, Homura?

Homura: It's not a major loss, I don't need a tournament to show that I'm physically capable. You've seen it before.

Sayaka: Touche…

Mami: Have we thought of a celebration for her victory?

Madoka: Well, a tea party wouldn't go amiss, especially one that doesn't involve any mysterious twists.

Mami: Hmm-hmm, sounds reasonable enough.

[Homura looks out to the field to see if she can spot anything suspicious before feeling a hand on her shoulder]

Madoka: Hey…it'll be okay…

Homura: …Of course.

[Tramp comes between Fox and Angelina at the starting line while Kyoko stands between Katz and Colleen. Tony arrives to announce to give the all-clear]

Tony: Right, everyone, time to make for a grrrrreat final act!

[The contestants ready themselves before we're given a close-up shot of them glancing at one another. Katz narrows his eyes, Kyoko pursues her lips, Robin sighs, and Angelina makes a silent prayer]

Tony: Ready…set…GO!

[Tony waves down the flag as the contestants set off]

"And they're off! Starting out on our first obstacle, the contestants are leaping into action!"

[One by one, the contestants hop over the big sand pit; Katz, Mulan, Robin, Merida, Kyoko, Fox, Tramp, Angelina, Mao Mao, Colleen, Jake, and Starlight]

"They all clear it, but now it's time to see who can get the jungle gym! Katz and Mulan are in front, but Robin is catching up behind them, HE OVERTAKES THE TWO!"

[Robin makes a dash for the gym while Kyoko passes Merida, but then Tramp passes her while Jake comes alongside Fox]

"Robin is first up and is making excellent progress on the bars, it looks like a steal for him!"

[Robin confidently brushes through the bars while Katz is hot on his trail with a fierce look of determination]

"As they enter the next stage of the challenge, Robin is still leading, but Katz and Mulan are right on his tail, oh, what's this, Merida's coming up behind them! She's leveling! And Kyoko too!"

[The contestants scale the ladder to come up to the platform, to which they're greeted by the foam spinners]

"Watch out, folks, those things can knock you off course!"

[Robin manages to time his reflexes on the spinners, and the same can be said for Merida. Katz, Kyoko, and Mulan have to time theirs a little more carefully. Fox and Tramp are shown coming up from the rear followed by the rest]

Katz: OH! How undignified…

Tramp: C'mon, kitty cat, keep up!

[Katz's eye twitches upon this comment]

Katz: You smug little-OH!

[Katz lurches to avoid getting hit by the foam while Angelina and Mao Mao are bringing up the rear]

Mao Mao: See? It's all in the reflex! You just gotta-DOH!

[Angelina winces as Mao Mao is hit by one of the foam bars before she ends up clinging to one of them]

Angelina: Less bragging, more concentrating!

[By the time Angelina manages to get back on the course, she gapes at Colleen and Starlight passing her. In spite of her prowess before, Starlight finds it harder to navigate through the spinners]

Colleen: What was that about reflexes, my little pony?

Starlight: That's rich coming from the furry bait, WHOA!

[Starlight hesitates, allowing Colleen to pass her while the unicorn curses under her breath]

Starlight: Damn it!

[Fox, Jake, and Tramp are seen trying to overtake one another before Tramp makes a leap to avoid the spinner, leaving the other two behind]

Tramp: C'mon, boys, I know you can do better than that!

Jake: Yeah, and you can do better than that!

[Tramp looks ahead to see five other people in front of him while they finally make their way out from the spinners and towards the gap in the platform where a pool of water is below]

[Kyoko narrows her eyes to make the gap and takes a good lunge at it, passing Katz and Robin who then jump at roughly the same time]

Robin: Hmmmm…not bad.

[Katz simply focuses on the finish line as he and Robin land on the other side in pursuit of Kyoko. Mulan and Merida are next to jump over the gap, followed by Tramp, with Jake and Fox coming up the rear. Angelina and Mao Mao briefly take over Colleen and Starlight before Mao Mao suddenly jumps into the air, thinking he can make the landing…before realizing that he jumped too early]

Mao Mao: Aw, crap!

[Just before Mao Mao goes over the edge, his cape is suddenly pulled back, revealing to be Angelina]

Angelina: I've got you!

[Mao Mao manages to lever himself back onto the platform with Angelina's assistance]

Mao Mao: PHEW! Thanks for that.

[Cut back to Kyoko about to cross the finish line before showing Katz, Robin, Merida, and Mulan behind her. Katz grits his teeth before suddenly pulling ahead of the others, just managing to reach Kyoko before they cross the finish line]

Snagglepuss: Heavens to Murgatroyd! It appears we have a tie between Katz and Kyoko!

Mildew: It appears that the duel will be decided by these two savages. For now, let's see the results.

[The results on the monitor reveal the following;

[Cut to the villains of CTCD looking rather pleased with themselves]

Le Quack: Hohoho! He showed that lot of pampered scrubs what for.

Cajun: If the kitty cat wins, we're gonna be feastin' tonight!

Queen of the Black Puddle: So long as you're not the one cooking, of course…

Mad Dog: Hrrrrrrr…he's still gotta beat that redhead…give her no mercy.

[Cut to Tony presenting Katz and Kyoko a sword each, plastic though due to the potential risks involved using metal swords. Katz looks at his weapon with an unamused brow while Kyoko looks at it with disbelief]

Tony: Right, you two. You're gonna be lifted on this platform and you're gonna fight until one of you taps out or knocks the other off the platform and onto the safety beds. I wish you both the best of luck.

[Katz and Kyoko narrow their eyes at each other]

Katz: Get ready to suffer, child.

Kyoko: Heh, trust me, you don't even know the definition of the word. You're going down, second place.

[Katz bares his teeth in concealed fury at this remark while Kyoko maintains a stern expression. The two make their way onto the platform as it then lifts up several feet in the air. The rest of the contestants from the challenge watch from below with bated breath]

"This is it, folks, the final battle of the titans! Who will win it; Katz or Kyoko!"

[The contestants stand on either end of the platform, ready to strike when the signal is given. The audience waits with anticipation as Samurai Jack makes a prayer]

SJ: May both warriors receive the outcomes they deserve.

[Cut to Katz and Kyoko staring each other down before the whistle is given for them to begin. Their swords hit one another in a struggle as one tries to overpower the other]

Katz: Stand down!

Kyoko: In your dreams, smartass!

[Kyoko manages to push Katz away before getting a hit on his shoulder. The red feline hits back at her on the leg]

Callie: Oh my…

[Kyoko hits Katz on the chest, he hits back at her waist, she goes for his thighs, he goes for her knees]

[Cut to the Diamonds watching the match with intent]

Yellow: Noooooo MERCY! AHEM! Hit her where it hurts!

Blue: Go for his waist, if ya' can…!

White: Hmmhmmhmm, now this is what I call proper entertainment.

Spinel: Go on, let 'im have it! And a right shot, and a left shot!

[Cut to the audience in the stadium]

Bismuth: Go on, girl, show 'im you mean business!

[Cut back to the duel as Katz is striked against the side of his face]

[Cut to Lightning, Thunderbolt, Photo Finish, and Hoity Toity, the latter two lift up their glasses]

[Kyoko is struck under her chin]

[Aurora, Ariel, Bolt, and Mittens wince at this]

[Katz is hit in the stomach while Kyoko is hit in the shin. By this point, both fighters are looking slightly worse for wear as they pant]

Katz: You…wretched child…give it up already…

Kyoko: I'll give up…when I'm dead…

Katz: I…am not…taking anything...but first place…

Kyoko: In that case…come and beat me, pussycat…

[Cut to the Magical Girls watching with either anxiety or intent, the contestants watching in anticipation, worry, or in the case of a few, delight]

Chrysalis and Sombra: FINISH HER!

[Kyoko stands ready to fight as Katz bares his teeth and charges at the redhead, only for her to suddenly leap into the air while doing a backflip, the scene playing out in slow motion to a stunned Katz]

Kyoko: …Enjoy victory while you can.

[Kyoko is shown falling from the platform and landing on the safety bed below, right on her feet with a smirk]

[Katz watches from above with a twitching eye]

Katz: That little…

[The crowd goes into a stunned silence, along with the rest of the competition and the hosts]

Mildew: …AHEM, I suppose in that case….Katz is the winner of the skill contest.

[This incites a cheer among the stadium, particularly around the CTCD lot]

Le Quack: HAHAHA! He did it! That beautiful man did it! How I could just kiss him!

[Katz is initially stunned by the cheers…before throwing down his sword and lifting his arms in triumph. The placement board updates;

[Kyoko sees the girls looking over at her. She winks at them and they appear to understand the gesture through nodding]

Snagglepuss: And with that, the Great Toon Show has officially wrapped up! My, my, what a throwback this has been.

Mildew: At least I didn't lose my sanity this time around…AHEM, either way, we're glad to have been a part of the action.

Snagglepuss: Who knows, maybe we'll be back for the next show.

Mildew: Heh, somehow, I highly doubt it.

Snagglepuss: On that note, I shall take my leave, I have…business to attend to.

[Mildew raises a brow as he watches Snagglepuss head towards Huckleberry waiting for him by the podium]

Huckleberry: You do look mighty fine in that there suit.

Snagglepuss: Why thank you, darling, it really does bring back memories.

Huckleberry: It sure does, now, as for more pressin' matters, why don't we go somewhere a little more…[puts a paw under the cougar's chin]...private so you can hear me sing Clementine?

Snagglepuss: Hmmhmmhmm, you know I can hardly resist the temptation…

[The stadium erupts into a set of cheers, whoops, whistles, horns, and bells as the winners of each challenge stand for their pictures. Some of the audience members have been allowed on the field with their respective contestants]

[Fox and Wolf come up alongside each other]

Fox: I know, you finally got one up on me.

Wolf: I wouldn't necessarily call it a one-up, I still didn't win my event.

Fox: True, I guess some things never change.

Wolf: Oh, come here, pup.

[Wolf puts his arm behind Fox to press their muzzles together, a motion which is repeated by several other couples; Blitz and Exile, Lady, Jenna, and Krystal, Panther and Tai Lung, Rarity and Applejack, Buster and Tramp, Balto and Steele, Haruka and Michiru plus Setsuna, etc, etc, etc]

[Kyoko and Sayaka wrap their ams around each other as they spin around while Mami merely watches with bemusement. Madoka puts a hand on Homura while the black haired girl gives one of her few genuine smiles]

[Drago ends up being surprised via double lick on either side of his face by Guntiver and Sleuth]

Drago: What the…?

Sleuth: I told you I was gonna get you back for the last one.

Guntiver: And hey, the more the merrier.

Drago: …Yeah, you're not wrong there.

[This is in stark contrast to Katz being taken completely off-guard by Le Quack dipping him, much to the bemusement of Cajun and Queenie, Mad Dog…well, you know]

[Robin Hood and Little John stand by each other as does Lapis with Jasper, Angelina with Alice, Top Cat with his gang, the Sonic Team standing amongst each other, Stella with the rest of the Winx, the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams, the SWAT Kats and Road Rovers, the Sailor Guardians, and Mao Mao with Badgerclops and Adorabat. The photographer has come to snapshot each of the contestants]

[We're then treated to an excess of snapshots of every single character within the series as they form over the screen with the music reaching its final peak]
