Author's Note: AS YOU CAN SEE, THIS STORY IS NOT DEAD! Anybody understood the reference I slightly changed? Eh, eh? Okay, moving on. FIrst of all, to all my readers, I apologize for this update taking so freakin' long. It definitely shouldn't have been like this, but rest assured, I'm back now. I desperately needed to update this fanfic, along with many others. This chapter will be a bit different, though. It's a short Christmas chapter with a family-like vibe, and just to confirm, it's canon to the main story. After this chapter, we're continuing the actual main story. I just figured I would make a Christmas chapter since we're in the holiday season right now.
Oh, reviews! Time to reply to those.
El-lector327: Thanks for the kind words! I hope you're still reading, lol. I did want to put an emphasis on how much baggage Spidey has in this story, to your point. And don't worry. This story will never be abandoned.
Guest: Well… this chapter still might be too short for you then, haha.
Ki11er18001: Good news, this story is returning!
Wearedeadpool: It's continuing! Continuing, I say!
Okay, that seems to be all the reviews. If you guys leave a review, I'll reply to it in the next chapter. Anyway, let's get this Christmas stuff started.

Chapter 3: Christmas at Stark Industries
BGM: Brenda Lee - Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree
It was a chilly December evening in New York, and Stark Industries was buzzing with excitement, not just because of the upcoming gala, but because the Avengers were gearing up to celebrate Christmas in their own unique way. The air inside the Stark building was filled with the smell of cinnamon, pine, and the distinct hum of Iron Man's workshop.
Spider-Man, hanging upside down from the rafters in a cozy corner of the workshop, looked down at his friends who were busy preparing for the company's annual Christmas party. He'd been invited by Tony Stark, as usual, to join in the festivities and help out with whatever needed to be done.
"I don't know why I'm hanging up here," Peter Parker mused, his red-and-blue suit blending with the shadows. "I should be down there with the others. I could be... I dunno... decorating or something."
"Well, if you think about it, you are helping," Natasha said from below, carrying a box of ornaments. "You're giving us all a chance to focus without worrying about you sneaking in and stealing cookies."
Peter laughed. "Guilty as charged. But seriously, I'm just trying to keep the Christmas spirit alive in the Avengers. You guys aren't exactly the 'candy cane and reindeer' types."
"I beg to differ," Natasha grinned, setting down the box. "Some of us do have a soft spot for holiday cheer."
"Hulk just here for the food," Hulk grumbled from across the room, his massive hands wrapped around a stack of Christmas decorations. Even Hulk had managed to find a rare moment of peace in the holiday preparations.
Over near the workbench, Tony—who had, admittedly, delegated most of the work to everyone else—was tweaking his suit's thrusters to optimize his holiday flight plan. "Nothing says Christmas like a well-tuned Iron Man suit, right?" he quipped, not looking up from his tools.
Steve, meanwhile, was carefully stringing up lights along the wall. "I might've been frozen in the 1940s," he remarked with a smile, "but even I know that you can never have enough lights."
"Exactly," Tony nodded, finally glancing over at Steve. "And those vintage decorations you insist on bringing in? I swear, those are older than you."
"Vintage is in!" Steve defended, though his teasing smile betrayed his love for the old-fashioned holiday charm.
In the corner, Clint was hanging a wreath, grumbling as he did. "I miss the days when my biggest problem was getting the bow right on the tree," he muttered. "Now it's all about planning for a party... and you'd think a guy could be trusted with a simple wreath."
Peter, still hanging from the rafters, chuckled. "Oh, come on, Clint. You're a sharpshooter. Wreaths should be no problem."
Natasha gave Peter a knowing look as she joined Clint, helping him with the wreath. "We could have used your help earlier with the tree lights," she teased.
Peter stuck his tongue out playfully, flipping down to stand next to her. "What can I say? I'm a tree-lighting artist. It's a niche thing."
Despite the light banter, a soft warmth seemed to envelop the group. Peter caught Natasha's eyes for a moment. There was an undeniable connection between them, a bond forged in battle, trust, and respect. But despite their easy friendship and the moments of unspoken understanding, neither of them had ever crossed that line into something more.
Well, except when Natasha thought she was a completely different person one time. Nonetheless, they both enjoyed the closeness, knowing it was something special without complicating things.
"Alright, people," Tony called out, pulling everyone's attention to the center of the room. "Party prep's coming along nicely. Let's just make sure we leave enough time to... actually enjoy the party. Oh, and don't forget, you guys are all on cookie duty."
That earned a cheer from Peter. "Cookies, cookies, cookies!"
Clint rolled his eyes. "Of course you'd be excited about that."
As the evening continued, everyone had their task to complete. Thor had insisted on bringing in some Asgardian decorations, much to the team's amusement. "There is no Christmas without the God of Thunder's touch!" he declared, placing a glittering, enchanted wreath above the main doorway.
Afterwards, though, Peter was mostly hanging around the kitchen, chatting with Natasha as she prepared some of the final touches for the evening's feast.
"You know, this feels... nice," Peter said, breaking a long moment of comfortable silence. "Like a real family."
Natasha, as usual, gave him a small smile. "Yeah. It does."
"I'm glad you're here for it," Peter added, his voice softening.
Natasha looked up, locking eyes with him. She couldn't deny that she was really close with the wall-crawler.
"You're family, too, Peter," she replied, her voice steady as her smile became warmer. "And I'm glad you're here for this too."
Peter's own smile would become warmer as well, and as the evening rolled on, joyful laughter filled the halls of Stark Industries. The Avengers, as chaotic as they were, had created something that felt like home—unconventional, but home. The team knew they were bound by more than just their missions and their roles in the world. They were bound by trust, respect, and the kind of bonds that could withstand anything, even the holidays.
And as Peter looked around at his friends—his family—he couldn't help but feel a warmth that had nothing to do with the Christmas lights twinkling above them.
"This is what Christmas is all about," he muttered, barely audible.
Natasha, standing beside him, couldn't help but agree.
And then... a familiar voice could be heard, and let's just say this person wasn't too happy.
"Stark!" Nick Fury yelled, looking into the fridge and saw that something was missing. "Where's my eggnog?!"
A deep sigh escaped Tony's lips. "Sorry, Fury. Can you say that again?"
Fury would indeed say it again.
"Where! Is! My! EGGNOG!"
