Every once in a while, the skyline of Satellite will be visited by a white dragon with crystalline wings - a symbol of hope in a time of despair. When Naruto Uzumaki decided to sneak into the City to rescue his friend, he didn't expect the challenges and trials that waited him and his beloved dragon. Riding Duel Acceleration! Naruharem.

4. Chapter 4

"Scrap-Iron Scarecrow sets itself back on my field after it's activated!" Yusei explained as his Trap card flipped down towards the ground once more.

Jack simply scoffed. "I will set one card and end my turn."

"It's my turn!" Yusei declared as he drew a card from his Deck.

Naruto Speed Counter: 3

"Battle! I will attack Multiple Piece Golem with Junk Warrior!"

"Looking to self-destruct?" Jack grinned in amusement. "My Multiple Piece Golem is still stronger!"

Yusei already had plans to change that fact. He waved his hand and flipped up a Trap card. "Trap card activate! Rocket Fist. One Level 5 or lower monster I control gains 500 attack points! I will increase Junk Warrior's attack by 500!"

Junk Warrior LV 5 Warrior/Synchro/Effect ATK: 2300→2800

"Impressive, but not enough!" Jack chortled as he pressed a button on his D-Wheel. "Trap card activate! Fusion Deflector!"

"A trap card that protects Fusion Monsters?!" Yusei cried out in shock.

Jack smirked. "With this card, I can negate Junk Warrior's attack and then destroy Junk Warrior!"

"I'm not done yet." Yusei countered as he flipped open another one of his trap card. "Go, Backlash Wave! Junk Warrior's destruction is negated and you take 500 points of damage!"

Jack grunted as he was assailed by a rough breeze. (Jack LP: 4000→3500)

Yusei grabbed a card from his hand and slotted it into his Spell and Trap card zone. "I will set one card and end my turn."

Naruto could only watch the back and forth action in awe. "As expected from Yusei and Jack, I suppose."

The Uzumaki teen drew a card to begin his turn.

T6 Naruto H:1→2 LP: 2900

Jack's Speed Counters: 5→6

Yusei's Speed Counters: 4→5

"I will Summon Level Sculptor from my hand."

He summoned forth a bearded man dressed in a dirtied blue overall and orange-striped t-shirt. In the man's hand, was a gray sledgehammer.

Level Sculptor LV 4 EARTH Rock/Tuner/Effect ATK: 1500

"I activate Level Sculptor's effect! Once per turn, I can change the Level of a Rock-type monster to a Level between 1 and 4. I will change Valkyrion the Magna Warrior into a Level 3 monster!"

Ten star-emblazoned rocks appeared in front of Valkyrion before Level Sculptor jumped in and smashed six of them with his hammer.

"I will now tune the Level 4 Level Sculptor with the Level 3 Valkyrion!" The monsters on Naruto's field dissolved into a quartet of rings and a trio of stars.

"Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings, and strike down your enemies at the speed of light! Synchro Summon! Appear now! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon LV 7 Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK: 2500

Within a brilliant cluster of light, a white dragon with crystalline wings flew forth, carrying forth a stream of light dust. The dragon circled around, letting out a roar that resounded through the dueling stadium.

"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon?!" Jack had a look of surprise as the white dragon flitted above in the sky above. "I don't remember you having a card like that!"

"Well, after you left Satellite, a lot of things happened." Naruto sighed. "Some things, I wish never happened at all."

He, of course, knew that Jack wouldn't be interested in hearing his little sob story. So, he opted to go on the offensive.

"Battle! I will attack Multiple Piece Golem with Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

"Attacking with a weaker monster, again?" Jack asked. "Have all Satellite duelists gone insane?"

"Nah! It's you who have gotten soft, Jack!" Naruto accused as he summoned Catapult Sentry from his hand.

A green-eyed golem appeared next to Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. The creature flexed its arms, causing the tip of a cannon to poke out from its stomach. He promptly fired off a large piece of rock towards Multiple Piece Golem.

"Per Catapult Sentry's effect, when it is special summoned, I can target and reduce Multiple Piece Golem's Attack by 800!"

Catapult Sentry LV 5 Earth Rock/Effect ATK: 1800

"All of that trouble just for 800 points?"

"Hmph." Naruto smiled. The kind that one would give when they knew a secret that others didn't. "I now activate Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect! Once per turn, when a monster effect activates that targets a Level 5 or higher monster, I can negate the activation and destroy it! Go, Dichroic Mirror!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon flew in front of Catapult Sentry's attack and unleashed a blinding flash of light from the four jewels extending out of its waist. In an instant, Catapult Sentry was obliterated.

No longer able to see the logic in Naruto's moves, Jack's face was marred with confusion. "Have you lost your mind, Naruto?! Did you go mad from the pressure of competing against the King?"

Naruto shook his head. "When Clear Wing Synchro Dragon destroys a monster by its effect, it gains the destroyed monster's attack points! Which means Clear Wing will gain 1800 attack points!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon LV 7 Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK: 2500→4300

"The battle continues! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Attack Multiple Piece Golem! Helldive Whirlwind Slasher!"

Suddenly and aggressively, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon dove towards Jack and his Golem. As it approached, it spun like a tornado and quickly drilled through Multiple Piece Golem's colossal body.

Under a rain of holographic rocks, Jack's Life Point plummeted. (Jack LP: 3500→1800 Speed Counters: 6→5)

"That's payback for earlier, Jack!" Naruto said. "Now, I will end my turn! And at the End Phase of this turn, Clear Wing's attack points go back to normal!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon LV 7 ATK: 4300→2500

T7 Jack H: 1→2 LP: 1800 Sp. Counter: 5→6

Jack's D-Wheel had slowed down enough for Yusei to catch up. Yet, despite that, Jack refused to look the man in the eye—not out of shame, but out of a sense of superiority.

"Not bad, Naruto." Jack complimented, his face relaxed with a light smile. Yet, in a second, his pleasant disposition vanished in an instant, replaced by a prideful rage. "But! It's still not enough!"

To back up with his declaration, Jack activated the card that he had just drawn.

"I activate Speed Spell - Speed Diffusion! By removing 3 Speed Counters, I can banish one Fusion monster from my graveyard and then summon all of its Fusion materials back to my field. And if I do, I can draw 1 card from my Deck! I will summon both Medium Piece Golem and Big Piece Golem in defense mode!"

Medium Piece Golem EARTH LV 4 Rock/Effect DEF: 0

Big Piece Golem EARTH LV 5 Rock/Effect DEF: 0

Jack's D-Wheel slowed down drastically until he was even lagging behind Naruto. (Jack's Speed Counters: 6→3)

In exchange, Middle Piece Golem and Big Piece Golem all returned to Jack's field at once. Jack then drew an additional card per the effect of his Speed Spell.

"Perfect!" The King said as he examined the card he just drew. "I summon Dark Resonator from my hand!"

Dark Resonator DARK LV 3 Fiend/Tuner/Effect ATK: 1300

A small floating, dwarf demon dressed in a fancy black robe floated on the field. His evil red eyes shone behind his iron mask. In his hands, he held a single, silver tuning fork.

"I will tune the Level 3 Dark Resonator with the Level 5 Big Piece Golem!"

The rings and stars associated with Synchro Summoning once again filled the air and flitted about until they were in a straight, horizontal line.

"The ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shaking power! Synchro Summon! My very soul, Red Dragon Archfiend!"

From within a column of burning inferno, a crimson dragon with three goat-like horns flew out. The draconian had a muscular physique, with exposed skin burnt dark by the bath of hellfire. On his back, there were a pair of large, bat-like wings. Its tail was thick and tapered off into a sharp blade.

Red Dragon Archfiend LV 8 DARK Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK: 3000

Naruto stared at the dragon in awe. Then, without warning, something hot burned inside his heart, causing the boy to grab his chest in pain.

What is this feeling? Naruto wondered to himself. Beside him, Clear Wing let out a provoking roar.

Clear Wing? Naruto observed his dragon with a quizzical gaze. Are you trying to communicate something to me?

"Battle!" Jack roared as his dragon soared forward. "I will attack Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with Red Dragon Archfiend!"

The dragon clenched his fist, setting it ablaze in a miniature inferno.

"Absolute Power Force!" Jack shouted as his dragon threw a punch towards Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.

Before the punch could connect, a ghostly image of Level Sculptor suddenly emerged between the two dragons and absorbed the blow in Clear Wing's stead.

"Once per turn, if a Synchro monster that used Level Sculptor as a Synchro material would be destroyed by battle, I can banish Level Sculptor from my Graveyard instead!" Naruto explained.

"But!" Jack cut in fiercely. "You will still take damage!"

"Argh!" Naruto groaned as Red Dragon Archfiend's flames went around his monster and burned him. (Naruto LP: 2300→1800)

Jack smirked, satisfied with the damage that he dealt. "I will now end my turn! But with my dragon out, I now have an absolute rule over the battlefield! It's only a matter of time before this duel ends in my complete and undisputed victory!"

Yusei stared at Red Dragon Archfiend and knew that he needed to do something about it and quickly.

He drew a card and saw that it was Descending Lost Star. His heart sank slightly as he realized that it wasn't something that he could activate this turn.

Naruto's Speed Counter: 5→6

Jack's Speed Counter: 3→4

"I will attack Medium Piece Golem with Junk Warrior!" Yusei pointed at the Golem guarding Jack's Life Points.

Even if he couldn't get rid of the main threat on Jack's field, Yusei figured that he might as well as destroy one of the weaker monsters.

Junk Warrior rushed forward and smashed Medium Piece Golem into bits.

Yusei then grabbed the two cards in his hand and placed them in the Spell and Trap card zone. "I will set 2 cards and end my turn!"

As Yusei's turn ended, Naruto drew to start his.

T9 Naruto H:0→1 LP: 1800

Jack's Speed Counters:4→5

Just like Yusei, Naruto didn't draw any card that could allow him to overcome Red Dragon Archfiend this turn.

"I will set one and end my turn!"

Jack broke into a round of hysteric laughter at his former friends' pitiful moves. "I didn't lie, did I? Both of you are powerless in front of my Red Dragon Archfiend! Cry, beg, and grovel in front of my absolute domination!"

"It's my turn!" The King bellowed with authority as he drew a card.

T10 Jack LP: 1800 H:1→2

Jack's Speed Counters: 5→6

Yusei's Speed Counters: 8→9

Naruto's Speed Counters: 7→8

"Perfect!" He remarked once he saw what he drew.

"I will summon Bruteforce Archfiend to my field!"

He called forth a red humanoid demon with both of his arms wrapped in solid steel chains.

Bruteforce Archfiend DARK LV 4 Fiend/Effect ATK: 1800

"It's the Battle Phase! I will attack Junk Warrior with Red Dragon Archfiend!"

Yusei was quick to counter. "I activate my Trap Card: Scrap-Iron Scarecrow! With this I—"

"Quit your futile struggles!" Jack interjected. "Bruteforce Archfiend's effect activates! Once per turn, during the Battle Phase, it can negate the activation of a Trap card and destroy it. Then, all monsters on my field will gain 500 additional attack points!"

Bruteforce Archfiend rushed forward and ripped Scrap-Iron Scarecrow into pieces with its hands. All the while Yusei could only grimace in horror.

Bruteforce Archfiend ATK: 1800 →2300

Red Dragon Archfiend ATK: 3000→3500

"The battle continues!" Jack demanded as his dragon rammed its fist through Junk Warrior's body. (Yusei LP: 4000→2800 Speed Counters: 9→8)

"Your field is wide open! I will attack Yusei directly with Bruteforce Archfiend!"

"Tch. Double trap cards open! Descending Lost Star and Call of the Haunted!"

Jack frowned, displeased. "Bruteforce Archfiend can only use its effect once per turn. This means, I can't negate either of your Trap cards…"

"Descending Lost Star's effect allows me to bring back Junk Warrior in Defense Position. But its Level will be reduced by one and its Defense Points will be set to 0!"

The purple robot jumped from a dark void and crossed its arms in front of itself.

Junk Warrior LV 5→4 DEF: 1300→0

"And with Call of the Haunted, I will bring back Junk Synchron!"

Junk Synchron LV 3 Warrior/Tuner/Effect ATK: 1300

"So what? You have only surrounded yourself with more weaklings! I will attack Junk Warrior with Bruteforce Archfiend!"

"No! I still have one more trap left!" Yusei shouted as his final Trap card flipped up. "Urgent Tuning! During the Battle Phase, I can synchro summon one monster using monsters that I control!"

"What?!" Jack's eyes were wide with bewilderment.

"I will tune the Level 3 Junk Synchron and the Level 4 Junk Warrior! Appear, Level 7 Junk Berserker!"

Junk Berserker LV 7 WIND Warrior/Synchro/Effect ATK: 2700

Junk Berserker was a robust ogre warrior clad in thick crimson armor. With a swing of its giant ax, it kicked forth a mild whirlwind that tore through the battlefield.

"Jack!" Yusei shouted, catching the man's attention. "The restless soul of the oppressed will now devour you and your dragon whole!"

Jack's face was now red with anger. "Since Bruteforce Archfiend is not strong enough to defeat Junk Berserker, I will end my turn! But, your Junk Berserker is still nothing compared to my Red Dragon Archfiend!"

Yusei remained undeterred, his brows were knitted tightly with determination. "I wonder about that? It's my turn! I draw!"

T11 Yusei H: 0→1 LP: 2800

Yusei's Speed Counters: 8→9

Naruto's Speed Counters: 8→9

Jack's Speed Counters: 6→7

Yusei took a second to close his eyes and take in a deep breath. Finally, after all these years, he could finally unleash the pent-up emotions growing from inside him.

"It's over, Jack!" Yusei declared. "I will activate Junk Berserker's effect! I banish Junk Warrior from my Graveyard to target Red Dragon Archfiend and reduce its attack points by 2300!"

"What?!" Jack cried out in shock.

Junk Berserker swung its ax, unleashing a typhoon of cutting winds that shredded into Red Dragon Archfiend's flesh. The wounded dragon limped in the air, its back hunched over in exhaustion.

Red Dragon Archfiend ATK: 3500→1200

"Then, I will banish Junk Synchron from my Graveyard and reduce Red Dragon Archfiend's attack by 1300 points!"

"I-Impossible!" Jack stuttered out in disbelief. "If this goes through, then Red Dragon Archfiend's attack points will be reduced to 0! Then if he attacks with Junk Berserker, my remaining Life Points will..."

"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates!" Naruto's words cut through the air like a knife. "When a monster effect activates that targets a Level 5 or higher monster, I can negate the activation and destroy it! Go, Dichroic Mirror!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon moved in front of Junk Berserker and obliterated Junk Berserker with its Dichroic Mirror technique.

"Then, when Clear Wing gains attack points equal to the attack points of the monster it destroyed!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon LV 7 Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK: 2500→5200

Yusei looked at Naruto with a look of confusion, hurt, and betrayal. "Naruto? What are you doing?!"

"Ha! Don't forget that this is a Battle Royale!" Naruto said with a mischievous grin." I'm not about to let you have all the fun."

"Jack!" Naruto then turned his attention towards Jack and pointed a bold finger towards him. "I'm the one who is going to defeat you!"

After all, he had a feeling that his Clear Wing wouldn't be happy with any other result.

Jack let out a guffaw. "Hahahahaha! See? Such a beautiful friendship! It's a masterpiece!"

Yusei looked at the remaining card in his hand and set it down reluctantly. "Turn over." He declared.

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 5200→2500

"Then, at the end of the turn, Clear Wing's attack points go back to normal!" Naruto placed a hand on his deck. "It's now my turn! I draw!"

T12 Naruto H:0→1 LP: 1800

Naruto's Speed Counters: 9→10

Yusei's Speed Counters: 9→10

Jack's Speed Counters: 7→8

"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Attack Yusei directly! Helldive Whirlwind Slasher!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon dove towards Yusei, crashing onto the defenseless duelist with its wings. Yusei groaned as his Life Points took a massive dip. (Yusei LP: 2800→300 Speed Counters: 10→8)

"I will set one card and end my turn."

T13 Jack H:1-2 LP: 1800

Jack's Speed Counters: 8→9

Yusei's Speed Counters: 8→ 9

Naruto's Speed Counters: 10→11

"It's my turn!" Jack roared as he drew. "I will play the Speed Spell - Jet Stream! For each Speed Counters I have, a monster of my choosing becomes stronger by 200 points!"

"What?" Naruto exclaimed in shock.

"As I have 9 Speed Counters! Red Dragon Archfiend's attack goes up by 1800 points!"

Red Dragon Archfiend LV 8 ATK: 1200→3000

"You dared to make light of Red Dragon Archfiend's might, Naruto? Well, I'm here to make you eat your words! Go, Red Dragon Archfiend , bury Clear Wing Synchro Dragon once and for all! Absolute Power Force!"

"Trap card, activate!" Naruto shouted as a card with a purple border flipped up on his field. "Follow Wing! With this card, I"

"I don't care! Bruteforce Archfiend will negate the activation of that Trap and destroy it! Then both of my monsters gain 500 attack points!"

Bruteforce Archfiend charged forward and punched a hole in Naruto's trap card. Naruto winced slightly as his destroyed trap card shattered into tiny fragments of light.

Red Dragon Archfiend ATK: 3000→3500

Bruteforce Archfiend ATK: 2300→2800

"Hmph! You have played right into my hands!" Naruto said as he opened up another Trap Card: Synchro Jealousy! When a Synchro monster's attack value changes, I can target one Synchro monster I control and have it gain 1000 attack points!"

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 2500→3500

Jack scowled. "Aiming for a tie, Naruto? How pathetic!"

Naruto shook his head in disagreement. "Not at all! During this turn only, the Synchro monster I targeted cannot be destroyed by battle!" Naruto spun around on his D-Wheel to face Jack and punched the air fiercely. "Strike back, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Helldive Whirlwind Slasher!"

A large fiery collision ensued as the two dragons rammed their signature technique into each other.

Yet, when the dust settled, Yusei was the one controlling Red Dragon Archfiend.

Naruto and Jack both went wide-eyed with surprise. "How is this possible? Shouldn't Red Dragon Archfiend be destroyed?"

"It was." Yusei nodded. "I had simply activated my Trap: Snag Reborn!"

All eyes quickly zoomed onto the Trap card that stood by Yusei's side. Its artwork was a shadowy hand stealing a copy of Monster Reborn from a duelist's Deck.

"This card allows me to Special Summon one monster that's been destroyed by battle this turn!"

"Tch! Cheap tricks one after another!" Jack spat out in frustration. "I will set one card and end my turn!"

Yusei drew for his turn.

T14 Yusei H:0→1 LP: 300

Yusei's Speed Counters: 9→10

Jack's Speed Counters: 9→10

Naruto's Speed Counters: 11→12

He activated the card that he had just drawn immediately. "I activate Speed Spell - Speed Break! By removing 10 Speed Counters, I can target and destroy 1 card on the field! I will destroy Bruteforce Archfiend!"

"Argh!" Jack groaned as his archfiend exploded in front of him.

"Your field is wide-open, Jack! I will attack you directly with Red Dragon Archfiend!"

"Damn you, Yusei!" Jack cursed as he slammed his hand onto a button on his D-Wheel. "I activate my Trap: King's Consonance! With this card, I will negate your direct attack and perform a Synchro Summon by banishing the materials in my Graveyard!"

"A Synchro Summon from the Graveyard?!" Yusei asked.

"I will banish the Level 3 tuner - Dark Resonator, and the Level 5 Big Piece Golem! Arise and serve me, Stardust Dragon!"

"Did you say Stardust?!" Yusei cried out before he could stop himself.

Soon, a new dragon was in front of all of them. This one was a tad bit thinner than Red Dragon Archfiend. Its skin was colored in pure weight. Its pectoral muscles were exposed, revealing the purple flesh that lay underneath. Its head had a spear-like snout, similar to a marlin fish.

Stardust Dragon WIND LV 8 Dragon/Synchro/Effect ATK: 2500

As the three dragons gathered on the field, they started to howl, as if calling out to each other. A strong whirlwind ravaged the race track from out of nowhere, forcing the duelists to brace themselves as they tried to not be blown away.

Up there in the starry night sky, The Crimson Dragon came streaking through like a falling comet.
