When Tenten's water broke, she knew exactly what to do. She ought to, Guy had insisted they run it as a drill often enough.

Guy could get her to the hospital in seven minutes, which meant they didn't need to rush. Being her first labour, it would probably be hours before she needed to be at the hospital.

When that time came, Guy scooped her up and made the journey just like they'd practiced.

"Perfect timing," Sakura said.

"See, Tenten?" Guy grinned, giving her the thumbs up. "All that training paid off."

The difference was though, no amount of training could simulate this pain.

Sakura and Ino got Tenten settled, preparing for the birth like they'd discussed at her check-ups.

"Tenten, you've got this!" Guy encouraged as though he were on the sidelines of a battle. If he kept talking to her like a sensei instead of a husband, she was going to strangle him.

"Guy," she said through gritted teeth. "If you don't shut up right now, I'm going to STAB YOU IN THE THROAT WITH A KUNAI!"

"Sorry, Tenten. You know how I get."

"I do. Get over here and give me your hand."

He did this to me and if I have to go through this pain, then so does he.

He stood beside her and she took his hand, squeezing as tight as she could every time a fresh wave of pain hit her. The first time she did it, Guy yelped with the pain, but after that he just grit his teeth and bore it.

Tenten had decided not to find out the sex of her children because she thought she might need the added incentive of finding out to encourage her to deliver them.

Personally, she was hoping for girls, but she knew Guy would like sons. Either way, they were about to find out.

"Okay," Sakura said. "You're nearly there. One more push, Tenten."

She screamed and pushed, squeezing Guy's hand as hard as she could, bringing her first child into the world.

"You have a daughter," Sakura announced.

"Damn," Guy murmured.

"Guy!"

"No, you're right, Tenten. She'll be the fieriest kunoichi the village has seen since Lady Tsunade."

"You're not done yet," Sakura reminded, handing the baby girl over to Ino. "Okay, Tenten. Ready to keep going?"

"Yes," she nodded. The delivery continued and within fifteen minutes, their second child arrived. Guy looked down eagerly, awaiting the news of the baby's sex. Sakura smiled up at them.

"You have a son."

"Yes!" Guy cheered. Tenten squeezed his hand hard again. Even thought she was exhausted, this needed saying now.

"You better not play favourites with our babies." It was a bad habit he had.

"Of course not, Tenten. Do you think you could let go now?"

She released his hand and he cradled it close.

"I think it's broken."

"Don't be so dramatic."

While Sakura tended to their son, Ino brought them their daughter. She laid the little girl in Tenten's arms. There was no doubt she was Guy's daughter, she had thick dark hair and eyebrows to match.

"She's adorable!" Guy said. "Good work, Tenten!"

"Um, thank you… And you did have something to do with it as well."

"Can I hold her?"

"Sure," Tenten allowed, she was actually pretty worn out.

Guy took the baby with one arm, favouring the hand that Tenten hadn't been holding.

"Did I really hurt you?"

"It's okay," Guy said, but now that Tenten looked, his hand was pretty bruised up.

"Ino, can you take a look at Guy's hand?"

"Sure," the blonde medical ninja agreed.

Guy let her examine him, but he didn't really pay any attention, he was too wrapped up in his newborn daughter. He gazed down at her dotingly and Tenten smiled, knowing that this little girl was super lucky to have a father who would devote himself to his children completely.

Ino's assessment was that Guy's hand had more than one broken bone. She wrapped it up to stabilise it for now.

"Sorry," Tenten apologised.

"It's fine," Guy said, leaning over and pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I want to share as much of this as I can with you."

By this time, Sakura brought them their son, laying him in Tenten's arms. He resembled her more, with lighter hair and finer features.

It was crazy to think that they were parents now, with not one, but two, children. It was a lot. They were going to have their hands full and she'd just broken one of Guy's. It wasn't an ideal start, and she could see it already, the drama-filled future she was in for, but it was done now. There was no going back.

She settled back against the pillows and smiled down at her newborn son with a sigh. What've I gotten myself into… The thing was though, when she looked at him, at her daughter, her husband, her family, she was strangely okay with that.
