Canterlot Castle – Throne Room
As Naruto, Twilight, and Luna entered the grand throne room, Luna was still finishing her lecture on the dangers of the multiverse.
"...which is precisely why we must be cautious. It is an unknown, volatile force that—"
She stopped mid-sentence.
The room was filled with the sound of quiet sniffles and soft crying.
Naruto and Twilight froze, their eyes locking onto the source. Near the throne, Celestia stood with her large white wings wrapped around Fū, who was curled up, sobbing into the alicorn's side. Celestia's usually warm, motherly expression was filled with deep sadness.
Without hesitation, Naruto ran up to them. "Fū?! What's wrong? What happened?"
Fū only whimpered, burying her face deeper into Celestia's fur. Celestia gently stroked her back with her wing, then looked up at Naruto with sorrowful eyes.
"I told her the truth about her clan..." she said softly.
Naruto's expression shifted from concern to shock. "Her clan? Fū has a clan?!"
Celestia nodded solemnly. "Yes... The Kimera Clan."
Naruto had never heard of them before. He turned to Fū, still trembling in Celestia's embrace, then back to the Sun Princess. "What... what kind of clan were they?"
Celestia took a deep breath before explaining.
"The Kimera Clan were... extraordinary. They were unlike any other shinobi. Unlike the Aburame, who merely partner with insects, the Kimera Clan had something far greater—something unnatural. Their very blood carried the essence of every insect species, from the smallest ants to the mightiest beetles.
"They could transform their bodies, adapting insect traits to suit their needs. Wings for flight, armored exoskeletons for defense, razor-sharp mandibles for attack. They were the ultimate insect users."
Naruto listened intently, but his gut twisted at Celestia's next words.
"...And that is why they were exterminated."
The room fell silent.
Naruto's breath caught in his throat. "...What?"
Celestia's expression darkened. "It was the Uzumaki Clan that killed them all."
Naruto felt like the floor had disappeared beneath him. His own clan had... wiped out an entire bloodline?
He turned to Fū, who was shaking harder, gripping Celestia's fur as if trying to disappear.
"But why?!" Naruto demanded. "Why would they do that?!"
Celestia sighed deeply, her voice heavy with regret. "The Uzumaki Clan saw them as a threat. Their abilities—so versatile, so adaptable—were feared. The Uzumaki were masters of seals, and the Kimera could counter almost any jutsu through biological transformation. They were unpredictable.
"So the Uzumaki took no chances.
"A few thousand years ago, they orchestrated a massacre. The Kimera Clan was hunted down, erased from history... except for one survivor."
Celestia looked down at Fū, who sobbed quietly.
Naruto felt a lump in his throat. His ancestors did this? The Uzumaki Clan—his family—had slaughtered an entire people just because they were different?
He clenched his fists. He had always thought of the Uzumaki as the victims—the ones who were destroyed, wiped out by the other nations. But now...
Now, he learned that they were not innocent.
They had blood on their hands.
And the only known survivor of that lost clan was right in front of him, breaking down in tears.
Naruto didn't hesitate.
He sat down beside Fū and pulled her into a tight embrace.
Fū gasped slightly, surprised, but she didn't resist. Instead, she clung to Naruto, sobbing against his chest.
"It's okay," Naruto whispered. "I'm here. I got you."
Fū just cried harder, gripping his shirt like a lifeline.
Celestia and Luna exchanged quiet looks, the weight of history heavy between them.
Twilight, meanwhile, watched with sad, guilty eyes. This was wrong. No one should have to carry the pain of their ancestors.
Naruto held Fū tighter. "I don't care what the Uzumaki did back then. That was them. Not me. Not you. You're my friend, and I'm not gonna let that past define you."
Fū sniffled, looking up at him with watery, grateful eyes. "...You promise?"
Naruto smiled, resting his forehead against hers. "I promise."
Luna, watching, let out a quiet sigh. "Perhaps... the past is not always what we wish it to be."
Celestia nodded solemnly. "But that does not mean it has to define the future."
In that moment, surrounded by the echoes of the past, Naruto made a vow.
He would not let history repeat itself.
Ponyville – Ice Cream Shop
The small, cozy shop was normally filled with laughter and the clinking of spoons against glass bowls, but today, the atmosphere at one particular table was... somber.
Fū sat at the table, staring down at her half-eaten sundae. The whipped cream was starting to melt, and the cherry had already slid off to the side. She absentmindedly poked at the ice cream with her spoon, but she wasn't really eating.
Naruto and Twilight sat across from her, exchanging worried glances.
"She's still upset..." Twilight whispered.
Naruto sighed, resting his cheek on his hand. "Can you blame her? If I just found out my entire clan was wiped out by my friend's ancestors, I'd be pretty messed up too."
Twilight bit her lip, ears flattening slightly. "There has to be something we can do."
Before Naruto could respond—
CRASH!
A pink blur smashed through the window, showering the table with glass—only for the shards to suddenly rewind in the air, magically repairing the window before they could even hit the floor.
Twilight blinked. "...What?"
A burst of confetti exploded over them.
"HEARD THERE WAS A SAD GIRL WHO NEEDED CHEERING UP!!"
Naruto turned his head slowly to see Pinkie Pie, now standing dramatically on their table, striking a heroic pose.
Fū looked up, blinking in confusion. "Huh?"
Naruto wiped some confetti out of his hair. "...What the hell just happened?"
Before he could get an answer—
Music started playing.
Naruto's ears twitched. He looked around. "Wait... Where's that music coming from?!"
Twilight sighed. "It's just Pinkie being Pinkie..."
Naruto was not satisfied with that answer, but before he could press, Pinkie suddenly took a deep breath—
And then, she started to sing.
"Turn That Frown Around!"
By Pinkie Pie, the One and Only!
Ohhhh, life can be tricky, it's full of ups and downs!
Sometimes it feels like you're lost in the clouds,
But don't let those stormy skies bring you low—
There's a rainbow waiting, let's make it glow!
Pinkie suddenly pulls a rainbow out of nowhere and waves it like a flag.
So turn that frown around—flip it upside-down!
Let's take that sad and make it GLAD!
'Cause friends like us? We never stay mad!
She bounces onto the counter, spinning around as the shop owner looks absolutely bewildered.
Ice cream and laughter, they're good for the soul!
A giggle or two, and you'll feel whole!
So take this spoon, give it a try—
One bite of joy, and you'll touch the sky!
Pinkie dramatically holds up a spoon as if it's the legendary weapon that will save the world.
Turn that frown around—flip it upside-down!
You got sprinkles, syrup, chocolate, too!
So come on, Fū, don't be so blue!
Pinkie jumps next to Fū and does a boop on her nose, causing her to blink in surprise.
I know that life's been rough and tough,
The road's been dark, the path is rough...
But you're not alone, not now, not ever!
Friends stick together—forever and ever!
Naruto, caught up in the song, actually starts nodding along. Twilight sighs but smiles. Fū... slowly starts tapping her spoon to the beat.
So turn that frown around—flip it upside-down!
Let's take today and make it bright!
No more sadness, just pure delight!
Pinkie throws glitter into the air, and somehow, it forms a smiling sun above Fū's head.
We got cupcakes, we got pie—
We got friends who'll never say goodbye!
So wipe those tears, let's start anew!
Today's a day for Happy Fū!
Pinkie throws her hooves into the air, striking a dramatic pose. Fireworks somehow go off in the background. Even Naruto has no idea how.
By the time the song finished, Fū was staring at Pinkie in pure disbelief.
"...That was... so random..." she muttered.
Naruto crossed his arms. "Yeah, but did it work?"
Fū hesitated.
Then... she smiled.
"...Maybe."
Pinkie gasped. "A smile?!" She tackled Fū into a hug. "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!"
Twilight just sighed, using her magic to fix up the damage Pinkie caused. Again.
Naruto chuckled, shaking his head. "Well... At least she's smiling now."
Fū giggled softly. Maybe, just maybe... things weren't as hopeless as they seemed.
As Naruto watched Fū smiling and laughing with Pinkie, he couldn't help but feel relieved. Seeing her happy, even if just for a moment, made him feel like things were going to be okay. But as his smile lingered, a frown crept onto his face.
Something else was bothering him.
Twilight, always perceptive, noticed his shift in expression. "Naruto?" she asked gently. "What's wrong?"
Naruto let out a small sigh, running a hand through his hair. "It's just... what Luna said earlier about the multiverse. It got me thinking." He paused, staring at the table. "If there are other versions of me out there... do they have better lives than I do? Are they... happy?"
Twilight's expression softened. She could understand why that thought would weigh on him. Even though Naruto had never gone into detail about his childhood, she had a feeling it wasn't something she would have liked to hear.
"The multiverse is infinite, Naruto," she said. "There are endless possibilities. Maybe some versions of you had it worse. Maybe some had it better. It could be anything." She gave him a reassuring look. "But... what about your life? How do you feel about it?"
Naruto blinked and thought about it. His mind wandered back to the people who mattered to him. He remembered his mother, Anko, the woman who raised him with care and taught him how to be strong. He looked at Fū again, her laughter filling the air as she talked to Pinkie. She was happy. That made him happy. Maybe... his life wasn't so bad.
But then—
A flicker of a memory surfaced.
A younger version of himself, bloody and beaten, staring at the lifeless body of a child hanging from a tree. The image was hazy, like a nightmare that had never fully left him.
His stomach twisted, and he pushed the thought away, forcing a smile at Twilight. "Yeah... maybe you're right," he said, but his voice had a slight strain to it.
Twilight didn't look fully convinced, but she didn't push further. Instead, she simply nodded, offering silent support.
As Naruto turned his gaze back to Fū, he held onto the present moment. The past was always there, lurking in the shadows. But for now, he had something to protect. And maybe... that was enough.
Twilight sat in deep thought, her mind fixated on the dream that had disturbed her slumber. A name lingered in her thoughts—Tenebris Divinitas. The armored warrior, an imposing figure shrouded in mystery and death, had left an indelible mark on her subconscious. The sheer presence of this entity, the way she commanded destruction with cold precision, made Twilight wonder if such a being could one day find their way into her world. The very idea sent a shiver down her spine. If Tenebris did come, what would she bring? Peace? Or annihilation?
Another Universe
In another universe, a different version of Konoha lay engulfed in flames, its destruction absolute. The once-proud village was reduced to nothing more than ruins and burning corpses. The screams of the dying had long since faded, replaced by the mechanical thrum of the Astartes of the Veil Legion marching through the devastated streets. Their bolters thundered as they cut down any remaining resistance. The shinobi, with all their chakra and jutsu, were nothing before the might of the transhuman warriors.
Tenebris Divinitas stood atop the Hokage Tower, her armored form bathed in the firelight of the burning village. The dreadnoughts below stomped through the remains, their heavy weapons finishing off any survivors. An infiltrator approached, bowing before her.
"We have located four underground bunkers containing civilians."
Tenebris turned her helmet toward the space marine. The violet glow of her visor intensified as she issued her decree.
"Eliminate every man and woman. Take the infant males. The females... grant them a quick death."
The Astartes nodded, leaving to carry out her orders without question. Tenebris turned her attention back to the streets below, watching as a sergeant approached with his squad. A smile curled beneath her helmet as she saw the surprise they had brought her.
Minato Namikaze, the so-called Yellow Flash, was on his knees, his arms severed, his chakra sealed. His family—Kushina, Menma, and Neoma—stood beside him, bound and trembling. With a flicker of energy, Tenebris teleported in front of them, her imposing presence sending a wave of dread through them.
She regarded Minato with cold amusement. "Ah, the great leader of the Land of Fire. A legend. A warrior. And yet, a terrible father."
Minato's face remained stoic despite his pain. "You won't get away with this."
Tenebris tilted her head, as if entertained by his defiance. "And how, exactly, do you plan to stop me? Your village is ash. The other great nations have been purged. Even the summoning realms—yes, including your beloved toad clan—have been wiped out." She let out a dark chuckle. "There is nothing left."
Minato growled. "Konoha will rise again. And you will fall."
Unfazed, Tenebris only chuckled, her tone dripping with mockery. "Coward. Fool. Clinging to a dream long dead."
Her visor turned to Kushina. "And you... the blood traitor."
Kushina glared at her. "I am no traitor."
Tenebris tilted her head. "Shall we test that claim?" Her gaze returned to Minato. "Should she learn the truth?"
Minato stiffened, a flicker of panic crossing his face. Kushina frowned, sensing the unease in her husband. "What is she talking about, Minato?"
"Don't listen to this monster," Minato snapped.
But Tenebris pressed on. "Tell me, what do you know of Naruto Uzumaki?"
Kushina's scowl deepened. "That thing? He was no son of mine. He was a demon wearing human skin. He's dead."
Silence.
Then, laughter—dark and cold. Tenebris shook her head. "Stupid bitch. I thought blondes were fools, but it seems redheads are even worse."
Kushina bristled, but Tenebris continued. "Naruto Uzumaki is alive. He was never the Kyuubi's vessel. The beast's soul was never sealed within him."
Kushina froze, confusion etched across her face. "You're lying."
"Am I?" Tenebris took a step forward. "Your beloved husband used the Shinigami Seal, but not to sacrifice his life. No, no... he sacrificed Naruto's chakra coils, making him unable to use chakra, and split the true power of the Jūbi between your precious little brats." She pointed at Neoma and Menma.
Kushina's eyes widened in horror. She turned to Minato. "Tell me it's not true."
Minato struggled against his bindings. "She's lying!"
Tenebris raised a hand, her sorcery gripping Minato's seal. Dark energy surged, torturing him as she invoked a truth spell.
Minato gasped in pain. "Naruto was just an expendable child. A scapegoat for the village. He was meant to die, to buy me time to train the twins. When I found out they weren't the Children of Prophecy... I tried to twist the prophecy to favor them."
Kushina staggered back, horror overtaking her. The memories of neglect, of abuse, of dismissing her own son as nothing flooded back. Tears streamed down her face as she realized what she had done.
Tenebris leaned in, whispering in mock reverence. "Isn't it beautiful? The realization of your sins? Even now, you forgot your own creed." She recited it to Kushina, watching as the woman sobbed.
Then, Tenebris drew her bolter, cutting Kushina's cuffs with a flick of her blade. She held out the weapon. "You've seen how these work. If you wish to redeem yourself, free yourself from his leash."
Kushina stared at the gun. Minato begged her not to listen, but before he could finish, half of his head was blown apart. Blood sprayed across the ground. Kushina fired again and again, shattering his remaining limbs, his stomach, his legs.
Then, she turned to her twins. Realizing the truth, seeing them as monsters, she raised the bolter.
"Mom! No, please!" they screamed.
It didn't matter.
She pulled the trigger, executing them both.
Then, as the weight of her actions settled in, she turned the gun on herself. One final shot rang out, her blood splattering across Tenebris' helmet.
A long silence followed.
Tenebris let out a whisper, almost reverent. "Magnificent."
She turned to her troops. "Find more male infants for the womb. Kill the rest."
The marines obeyed. Tenebris stared at the lifeless Namikaze family, nothing more than dead apes.
And she smiled.
