Tuchanka, Clan Urdnot Base
As Captain Shepard approached Wrex's dais, a rival Krogan clan chief was arguing with Wrex.
With only a nod, the dais guard let Jane to see her old friend. She interrupted the whining, rival Krogan, "Urdnot Wrex will drag your clan to glory whether you like it or not."
The rival leader shot back at her, "Stay out of this, Human!"
Before his old friend and his rival started a fight, Wrex rose from his throne to headbutt the other Krogan, "She may be a Human, but she's right. I will drag your clan to glory, Uvenk! Everyone is coming. This is larger than your petty complaints."
Uvenk picked himself up, and looked at Shepard, "The Human who destroyed a cure for the genophage? A shame I don't have my guns. You are hated on this world, Human."
"You hate Wrex and he's still alive. Your words are empty."
The rival Krogan left the dais, foul mood intact.
Wrex went and shook Jane's hand, "Back amongst the living? You have a knack for cheating death, Shepard. What was it this time? Geth?"
She inhaled a breath, "Nah. Collectors ambushed the old Normandy. I got spaced, and deorbited to the planet we were scanning at the time."
He chortled, "Ah, the benifits of a redundant nervous system. But, you don't have that. That must have sucked."
Jane smirked, "I remember only a fragment of panic as my ruptured suit failed to contain atmo."
"Someone with a lot of technical skill and money must hate someone else more than they hate you. You're alive, after all."
"Become qualified to answer weird, eon-spanning questions, and people start figuring out you might be right. It's a tough job."
Wrex grinned wide, "Some might even say, it's ageless."
Tuchanka, Proving Grounds
Jane casually walked around a corner into an open area where she had seen several Krogan soldiers waiting, dithering about, "GATATOG UVENK!?"
After Uvenk stepped out to get to the front of his line of men, Garrus and Grunt looked at one another. Garrus said to the young Krogan, "If she ever stops being right about enemies the rest of us didn't even know were there, there's a mountain of credit chits waiting for me at the Citadel."
Grunt grinned.
Uvenk addressed Shepard and her crew, "None since Wrex himself have downed a maw in the last two millennia, and the last was his father. This changes things."
She looked back to Grunt for a moment and quietly said, "Two thousand says he offers to recruit you, but with limitations."
The Rival Krogan was just that predictable, and looked at Grunt, "You are nothing, but your presence has power. You would not be able to claim a house, but you would live."
Grunt responded to Uvenk with anger, "I'm going to enjoy pissing on your corpse!"
Before anyone else started shooting, Jane drew her pistol and put one round on the bodyguard closest to Uvenk, who didn't get a chance to gloat about a bad shot, as the round ignited a fireball for her to detonate with a Warp.
Tuchanka, Clan Werloc Hospital
The further in the squad got, the angerier Jane got. Everyone was using incendiary ammo. "They're all going to burn," she had said.
Shepard didn't let the Werloc clan Speaker make a speech. Instead, she hit the loud Krogan with a pull field, shot a hole in the flammable gas pipe just below him, and when he was within the gas plume, she lit the candle.
Maelon urged an angry Captain Jane Shepard, "The Genophage has gone on long enough. A thousand years since its deployment, and only a handful of Krogan alive today actually saw why it was used!"
She had that terrifying calm about her again, "You're right about that, but your methods were sloppy. If you were Human, I could mistake you for a Cerberus operative and be done with it with one bullet."
Professor Mordin Solus looked at his former colleague before saying to Jane, "His death here serves no purpose." His gaze went back to Maelon, "Heart in right place. Figuratively and physically. Take over my clinic on Omega. Make positive impact in desolation."
Mordin made quick work of Maelon's terminal, "All that remains is his data. Might be useful, however poorly obtained."
Shepard responded, "He was right. The gentle genocide of the genophage has lasted long after its usefulness. Save a copy."
Tuchanka, Urdnot Base, shuttle pad tunnel
As the squad headed back to the shuttle, EDI stated over their comms, "Killing the Thresher Maw has made Grunt moderately famous; producing several breeding requests for him, and oddly enough, one for Shepard."
Garrus and Tali were belting out laughter all the way back to the Normandy.
