Restless Nights
Austin's POV (Finally!)
"No." I said simply walking to the jeep.
"Austin please she looked scared out of her mind back there and I read her phone and it said her father went to a convention out of town and won't be back in three days." Meeghan complained to me as she hopped inside the jeep.
Ally was in the back seat passed out. She had some sort of breathing attack and passed out. Unfortunately I don't know how to deal with those kind of problems so I laid her down in the backseat.
"Meeghan we are not letting some mortal into our house, it's against my rule, dad and mom's rule, and the rule of our kind. We are not associating with some human, you know what happened last time and I'm not letting it happen again." I snapped at her.
I know I seem harsh on my sister but if she doesn't understand something we've known forever then I'll definitely make it clearer for her. "Just because of what happened last time doesn't mean there will be another problem you're so cold sometimes Austin." Meeghan sneered crossing her arms with a pout.
I chuckled, "It's in my gene's Meg."
"I noticed." She snapped looking out the window. I started the car and drove away from the greenhouse. I don't know how Ally figured out about the Halcyon but everything's going to change once I erase her memory.
I pulled onto Decor road, I looked over to see Meeghan still looking out the window. I bit my lip rolling my eyes as I pulled the car over to the side. "Ugh Meeghan fine we'll go home and make sure she's ok until morning but that's it, after that we take her home and erase her memory nothing more nothing less." I said strictly.
She smiled and squealed. "Thanks Austin I knew you'd come through!"
"Yeah like I always do..." I mumbled under my breath as I pulled out of the space and turned the car back around heading for sunset road. Cheesy name for a road I know, yet how ironic it was to live on a road that didn't get much sunset not that I liked the sun anyways.
We basically lived in the middle of nowhere surrounded by huge acres of land and trees. Our house was off the sunset road on a small dirt road secluded from the other houses. We like our privacy especially in this small town.
I turned onto the small dirt road and drove faster. I wanted to get home, put Ally to sleep, wake up, erase her memory, and get her home. Fraternizing with a human is just not in my agenda anymore.
I parked the jeep in our garage and pulled out the keys stepping out of the car. "Meeghan don't you even try to wake her up." I threatened coming over to her side as she opened the back door. She rolled her eyes before heading for the back door.
"Thanks for helping!" I yelled as she pulled the door shut. I sighed and got Ally out carrying her bridal style. As awkward as this was I didn't have a choice in the matter, Meeghan was going to complain to mom and dad and knowing my parents mom would win of course.
I slammed the car door shut with my foot before walking to the door with Ally in my arms. I opened the door, walking through the corridor I found mom and dad on the couch watching some TV.
"Austin..." my mom said her back still facing me, "Why do I smell blood?" she asked questioningly.
They both turned around and gasped. "No Austin no." Dad said strictly. Meeghan walked into the room sitting down in an arm chair. "Oh come on dad she had a really rough night." Meeghan complained. "Probably getting drunk and partying." Dad snapped coldly. He had a strong judgement against human's almost as much as I did.
"Mike." Mom said slapping his shoulder. Meeghan went up to mom holding her shoulder. "Please mom I think she was attacked by someone or something, she looked almost paralyzed." She explained softly.
"Just to notify you this wasn't me, I didn't want anything to do with this mortal." I said laying Ally down on the couch. Dad went over to her, his hand grazed her body. "She's feeling some type of pain but I can't tell what it is. Mimi, Meeghan take her up to the guest room we will take care of her tomorrow. For now I must talk to Austin." He said sitting down in a chair.
Meeghan and mom lifted Ally up together heading for the upstairs. "Sit down son." Dad gestured at the chair.
"Before you say anything I was not following the mortal father Meeghan was, she picked up her scent and couldn't get a lock on it until we found her knocked out the greenhouse floor." I explained. "I know Austin but this is much bigger, I think the Cabal found us." He said, his eyes furrowing in worry.
"What do you mean they found us?!" I yelled standing up.
"Now Austin don't get upset."
"Don't get upset!?" I screamed, I could feel the heat rise in my face. "T-they killed her father!"
I could feel a tear slide down my cheek. My father came over embracing me into a tight hug. "They killed Lea..." I cried burying my head into his shoulder. He shook me softly shushing me. "How dare they think they can come back and overthrow us? What do they want from us?" I snapped.
"Oh son I don't think they're after us, they're after the one thing that can finish everything." He said looking at me.
I stepped back, "The Clairvoyant."
Father nodded and sat back down in his chair. I felt anger build up inside me, "I'm going to kill them, each and every one of them I'll rip them to shreds." I declared slamming my fist on the coffee table.
"Austin you know what happened last time. Give it some time you need to think about this before you get someone hurt." Father warned.
"No father I'm killing them, I'm not planning this one. Last time I planned it got someone killed!" I yelled. "Son you're focusing on the wrong thing! They are after the Clairvoyant not us this time."
"Yeah but they were intending on killing us along with Lea!"
"Then we need to let them find the Clairvoyant it's not our job." Father said sipping on his drink. I laughed, "So you're going to let them go around killing innocent people?!"
"Austin I'm trying to prevent what happened last time, this Clairvoyant could possibly not even know the limit of its powers." He said sternly.
"Fine but I'm not letting people die father, not again." I said strongly slamming the keys on the coffee table and walked away.
