Restless Nights

Austin's POV

I was sitting on my bed thinking long and hard about today. It was only midnight but I didn't really care, the way Allison looked today was replaying through my mind. She looked frightened, scared, like she had just witnessed a murder right in front of her.

And on top of that the Cabal has came back probably to murder some innocent person again. Damn it I hate them, they don't even know what they took away from me but I'm not going to let anyone get hurt this time.

I ran my fingers through my hair before getting up. I opened my door making sure no one was in the halls before walking down towards the stairs. Suddenly I heard whimpering from the guest bed room. I didn't want to bother the human but something forced me to walk in against my own will. I opened the door only to see Allison tossing and turning the bed. I figured she was having a nightmare, I sighed and went over to her, sitting on the bed I shook her softly.

She shot up, I jumped back frightened by her movement.

We looked at each other and she looked bewildered. I came a bit closer as she backed up, "Allison, I'm not going to hurt you what's wrong?" I asked as politely as I could. She looked around the room, the crazy, lost look was still clearly upon her face. With one glance at her her whole aura changed, her eyes turned a light purple but I was sure I was only seeing things.

After blinking my eyes a couple times Allison's face went back to normal. She put her hand against her forehead before sitting back on the wall. I rushed over to her sitting by her. "Allison are you ok?" I asked once again.

She nodded slowly.

Unfortunately for me, that wasn't a good enough answer. I grabbed her shoulders forcing her to look me in the eyes. "Allison what do you see right now?" I asked knowing she was in some sort of daze. "I see red eyes, fangs, and blood... lots and lots of blood." She said softly.

I was shocked. Honesty. How could she see all this? Did she know something about our kind that I don't know about? I ran my hands through my hair trying to grasp the concept of her knowledge. "Allison what are you talking about?"

"The Halcyon. You have to find it." She stated looking me in the eyes. It's as if she's another person, a whole different person. The Halcyon was destroyed a long time ago and only a Clairvoyant would know where it is. "The Halcyon is gone Allison it's been gone for centuries. H-how do you know about this stuff?" I asked curiously.

Suddenly she squeezed my hand tightly. "Just find it." She snapped at me before passing out on my lap.

My breath hitched for a minute stunned at the sudden reaction. I sighed and lifted her up laying her down in her bed. She looked somewhat peaceful... I looked away and walked out of the room. Suddenly someone bumped into me.

"Austin? What are you doing up so late?" My father asked.

"Allison was having a nightmare I guess." I explained awkwardly. "Well besides that, I found out that the Cabal wants a talk with us." He said reluctantly. I groaned and leaned against the wall, "You're kidding." I spat.

He shook his head walking down the hall. "I'm not son, they are dead set on finding the Clairvoyant. It's the only way they can find the Halcyon, I think they may want us to team up with them."

I growled and hissed at my father. "How dare you say such a thing in this house? They killed someone I loved and do you even give a damn about it? I hope you know you make me sick." I snapped at him. He stood there with a firm face, "Austin I will not tolerate that language."

"What will you tolerate father!" I yelled.

He grabbed my shoulder forcing me to look at him, "They are our kind, with the Halcyon we can rebuild Pompeii."

"Oh, so this is about Pompeii. That's the only reason you want to destroy another Clairvoyant?" I said with anger. I was trying to hold back the will to punch my father. This was insane, I mean team up with the Cabal? Does he realize how dangerous that is? "I don't care this is what's best for the family." He yelled at me before walking away.

I scoffed, "Are you sure it's best for the family? Because it sounds a lot more for your own benefit!" I said. Realizing he wouldn't come back I sighed and went back to my room.

Ally's POV

I gasped holding my chest as I awoke from a terrible dream. I looked around only to find that I wasn't only in someone else's room but that I was not in my room as well...

Where the heck am I?

I got up out of the bed and pulled my hair back into a small messy bun. I was still wearing my clothes I wore from this morning. Wait... how long have I been gone from home?! I desperately looked around for a small clock. Looking up at the ceiling I found one.

1 am in the morning? I have to get home.

I found my converses along with my small brown leather bag. I quietly opened my door, looking left and right for any sign of anyone. I quickly tip toed out into the corridor. It seemed spooky and gave me the haunted house kind of feeling. Scared for my life, I started to move faster until I heard a creak.

I looked back only to see nothing, continuing, I walked even faster feeling even more frightened.

Suddenly I was faced to face with a dark shadow. It held out a hand and I couldn't help but feel intrigued. I reached out my hand until someone pulled me out of my trail.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I looked up only to see Austin. Wait why is Austin here? "Who the hell do you think you are?" I snapped right back. I don't why but I was done with his attitude. The memory from school brought up five million reasons why I should hate Austin Moon.

"Don't get smart with me." He snapped.

"Then stop being such a jerk and let me go!" I yelled. He covered my mouth and I screamed. Though it was muffled I couldn't help but try. "I'm getting you out of here..." He whispered. Why was he being so discreet? God why I am asking so many questions? Stop!

He grabbed my hand and led me down the stairs. He grabbed his phone and shoved it in his pocket before sneaking me out the back door. "Why are you being so discreet about this?" I screeched.

"God dammit can you shut your trap you're going to wake up the dead!" He yelled at me. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Okay..." I whispered awkwardly. He led me to the back of his house and through the woods. "Where are you taking me?" I asked as we started to pick up a steady run. "Home, Allison...I can't erase your memory but you need to forget where we live, what you've heard today, and what you have seen. You must not speak this unto anyone." He snapped at me.

"Wait why?" I asked. We crossed a small bridge that was above a small pond. "Look at me, you can't talk to anyone about this. Forget you know me, forget Meeghan and forget everything you've come across yesterday and tonight." He spat coldly and firmly.

I looked deeply into his eyes. They were changing into a crystal blue color. "Your eyes..." I whispered in awe. They were the most beautiful color of blue I have ever seen. "Allison..." Austin said slowly looking down. "How can you see my eyes?"

I traced my hand gracefully over his cheek. He closed his eyes taking in a deep breath. "I need to get you home.." He whispered tenderly. He grabbed my hand as his eyes went back to normal. He led me through the woods, suddenly he stopped making me bump right into his back.

The wind blew hard. "Were not alone..." I said promptly realizing the situation we were in.

Suddenly a dart swung past me and Austin and into a tree. "Damn it." A voice snapped. A strangely familiar voice might I add...

"I need to get you out of here." Austin whispered grabbing my hand. "W-who was that?" I asked as we started off in a run.

"Stop!" A voice said. I looked back and dropped Austin's hands as I stared in shock at who it was. "Allison get back here now!" Austin snapped.

"Daniel...?" I asked the figure. The hoodie dropped from the dark figures head as he walked closer. "Ally?" Daniel asked. He smiled and stepped closer but I stepped back, he was holding a bow and arrow along with a stake and a couple darts. "Don't come near me, what are you doing with those weapons? W-were you trying to kill us?" I asked.

Austin came forth, there was cold look in his eyes. "That us is that bastard?" He snapped holding up his bow and arrow directly at Austin. I stepped in front of him. "Stop! You can't just go around shooting at people, what are you doing with this kind of stuff?!" I shrieked.

Austin laughed and crossed his arms. "You honestly don't know what he is?" He asked as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I shook my head in confusion.

"Shut up before I kill you." Daniel threatened.

This wasn't the Daniel I knew, he was intimidatingly mean and looked more like his father. "You wouldn't kill me, especially with Allison being right here and all." Austin teased. I could hear the humor in his voice. "I don't really give a damn." Daniel spat before grabbing a dart. He threw it right at Austin's arm. Austin groaned as he fell to his knees.

"Daniel!" I yelled in anger. I went over to Austin but he just pushed me away. "G-get out of here." He growled. I could hear the strained pain in his voice. I went up to Daniel and slapped him right in the face. I couldn't control the anger inside me I wanted to scream at him. "What is wrong with you!?" I yelled.

I looked over at Austin as he looked at me. His eyes were once again a crystal blue, but what I didn't expect to see were fangs retracting from his mouth. It was just like the dark figure I saw earlier...

I stepped back, it felt as if I was being closed in.

Austin stood up and looked down. I couldn't bring myself to look him in the eyes, I didn't know what was happening...

"Allison I can explain..." Austin said coming closer. I stepped back looking away. "No you guys are all just plain out crazy!" I yelled before running off. I kept running and running I didn't dare look back. I was going completely mad...

Daniel was some sharp shooter and Austin was some beast!

I finally found my neighborhood. I ran down the small sidewalk and up the driveway to my front porch.

Yet the door was strangely open... "Mom? Dad?" I yelled stepping inside, I was still enclosed in complete silence. I walked into the kitchen and gasped forcing my hand across my mouth.

There on the floor was a circle with a cross inside of it...
