Austin's POV

I slammed my can of coke on the picnic table angrily.

"I am not in love with her, there's no way in hell that could happen." I snapped at Dallas. We were at the park skateboarding until we wanted to just chill and talk for a while. "Lies." Dallas teased snootily. I huffed as I continued to drink my can of coke.

"Why the heck do you always think I'm lying? I'm telling the truth." I remarked. Dallas could be so annoying when he wanted to be. "Austin I may be some troublemaker but I'm not stupid I don't think you're lying."

I sighed in relief, "Thanks buddy,"

"I know you're lying." He continued with a smirk. I glared at him. "I'm out of here." I grabbed my penny board and threw my coke in the trash can. Suddenly Dallas grabbed my shoulders, "Don't be such a wuss, why do you keep denying that you feel some way about Ally? Is it because the crew was picking on you at Jerry's ice cream parlor?"

"No."

"Then what the heck is it because you're giving me mixed signals here." Dallas snapped. I could tell he was getting pretty frustrated but I kind of didn't care, I don't love or like Ally, we aren't even friends anymore so we're nothing to each other. It's meaningless to like someone when it's pretty obvious they don't give a damn about you.

"Look Dallas I don't care what everyone else thinks I just don't like Ally Dawson period I like someone else." I said easily as Dallas grabbed his long board. We started walking along the small path leading into the back of our neighborhood.

"Oh really? Then who is it?"

I stopped in my tracks swallowing hard. How was I supposed to tell Dallas I kind of liked Cassidy? I mean do I even like Cassidy? Maybe or maybe not. But I can't just tell him if I'm not sure of my feelings, I'm still trying to get over Ally...

"You don't know her she goes to another school." I blurted. I mentally cursed at myself. Another school? Seriously?

"What's her name?"

"Vanessa?"

"Last name?"

"Hudgens oh crap!"

"Ha I knew it! I knew you would buckle under pressure, Vanessa Hudgens? Seriously that's a new low, even for you." Dallas exclaimed with an arrogant smirk upon his lips. "But seriously dude who is it?"

I groaned, "It's Cassidy."

Dallas' jaw dropped as he looked at me in bewilderment. "No freaking way." He gaped.

I rolled my eyes and got on my penny board, "Close your mouth you don't want to catch flies." I smirked and skated off leaving Dallas to stand there all alone. Sometimes the kid just could not get over things... but anyways, it's not a big deal. I mean I'm pretty sure I like Cassidy right?

I got off my skateboard and entered my house only to see Meeghan tapping her foot in a disturbingly parent-like manner. "What's up with you?" I asked laughing as I closed the door. "Mom and dad left for a convention and Dylan's out until later tonight said he had some errands to run, but lucky for you mom and dad left me in charge!" Meeghan chimed happily.

Any smile on my face washed away at that very minute. "No, no, no, there is no way I'm letting my sixteen year old baby sister watch me. I'm 18 Meeghan I think I can handle myself." I said with a sly grin.

I dropped my skateboard on the floor carefully and walked into the kitchen, Meeghan followed close behind, "Too bad, you know Derek doesn't trust you alone at the house, I was supposed to go to my sleepover but I gave it up to save the house from burning down." Meeghan sneered.

"Uh... and that's supposed to be my fault?" I snapped as I drank from the milk carton. Meeghan walked over and grabbed the carton out of my hand. "Yes actually it is, I could be having fun but I have to babysit my eighteen year old brother because he's too damn lazy to act mature for his freaking age!" She said with a glare.

I laughed, "You're not babysitting me, I'm going out."

"For what? To have sex with Cassidy again?" She blurted. I stopped laughing and my face turned serious, "How do you know about Cassidy?" I snapped.

Meeghan stifled her laughter, "You idiot, you don't think I can hear you guys from my room and plus you left your phone here, how the heck did you get Jason's number I never gave you it!" She yelled.

I growled, my phone was my only privacy. "Meeghan Anne Moon you know you aren't allowed to touch my phone!" I yelled. I could just feel my temper rising with every second. Meeghan glared once again, "Why not? Are you afraid Dylan's going to find out? Or better yet Ally might find out too."

"Will you shut up Meeghan!" I yelled.

"No I won't! You're such a jerk you know that right? Ally didn't deserve what you did to her! She's the sweetest person you will ever meet and yet you treat her like she's a piece of trash! Well she's not, you need to stop using women like play toys! You can't just play with them and throw them away in 3 days that's not how women work or how anything works!" Meeghan yelled exasperated.

I stared at her appalled.

"Don't look at me dumbfounded! You need to dump Cassidy cause if you don't I'll get rid of her myself, you have no right sleeping with another man's woman! You're so desperate ya know? Looking for love only to use it you-"

Suddenly I slapped Meeghan.

She looked at me in shock, holding her cheek. "Wait no, t-that wasn't supposed to happen Meeghan I-"

"I hate you Austin y-you're the worst brother ever!" She yelled running upstairs. I ran my fingers through my hair and ran after. Just as I was about to catch her she went into her room and slammed the door shut locking it.

"Meeghan come on y-you don't mean that! You know I love you come on open up I'm so sorry!" I yelled as I banged on the door. "Leave me alone!" She exclaimed. I could hear the sadness in her voice and it made me just want to die. Suddenly the door swung open and Meeghan came out with some bags.

"Whoa where are you going?" I asked. I could see that her cheek was painfully red still. It made me want to cry...

"Out." She snapped rudely. She quickly walked past me and down the stairs. "Wait with who?"

"Jason and I'm not coming back until mom and dad come back, I feel safer with them here." She said meaningfully. I could tell that it was directed at me, I was the one that made her not safe. "Meeghan please..." I begged grabbing her wrist. She pushed me away and opened the door. "Don't touch me." She snapped before walking out the door.

I sighed and when she slammed the door shut.

Suddenly I heard the door from the kitchen open. "Anyone home?"

I walked into the kitchen to see Dylan laying down his books, he looked exhausted. "Yeah what are you doing home Meeghan said you were staying out until late at night?"

Dylan shook his head, "Well I was supposed to but something came up so I just left." He said sipping on soda pop. "Something? Like what?"

Dylan choked on his pop, "Wow Austin didn't know you took such a sudden liking into my life." Dylan joked. I glared, "I haven't taken a liking I just want to know alright?" I urged. He rolled his eyes, "Me and Cassidy got in a fight."

"A fight?"

He nodded and took another sip before speaking, "I think she's been seeing someone..."

That brought me to his attention. "Ha...uh w-why would y-you think that?" I asked curiously hoping he wasn't on to me. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he hopped onto the counter, "I don't know, it's just she's always doing something."

"What do you mean something?"

Dylan rolled his eyes, "What do you think I mean dumbass?"

I said 'Oh' and Dylan just groaned. "Aye watch the tone."

"Look it's just she's seeing someone I can just tell and then she had the audacity-"

"Whoa using big words there." I snapped. He cleared his throat, "She had the courage to ask me for child support and on top of that she asked for money to find an apartment to live in and get this, when I insisted that she stay with us she turned it down right on the spot!"

I cocked an eyebrow, something's definitely strange about Cassidy right now...

She's asking for child support and money? No, you don't just ask someone for that kind of money, I mean she can't afford an apartment now what makes her thinks she can afford the monthly rents?

"That's absurd." I snapped. He laughed, "Damn right it is, I want to break it off with her but I can't she's bearing my child and I have to just live with it. She deserves to be happy and I'm going to help her even though she might be cheating on me. I'm slowly falling for her somehow when I don't want to knowing her reputation, hopefully she only has eyes for me." He said hopping off the counter as he walked away and out the kitchen.

Guilt washed over me like a wave. I slapped Meeghan, I'm having an affair with Dylan's girlfriend who's pregnant, and worst of all it's going to get to Ally somehow someway. And trust me I wasn't ready for that at all...

This was not supposed to happen, I wasn't supposed to feel any guilt or sympathy for others and yet it was happening.
