Fighting Against the Odds

Ally's POV

"I can't believe we're almost there!" I squealed in excitement.

We were currently on the plane right now. There was only an hour left before we would be landing in London, the capital and center of England. I was extremely excited. England had such rich and thriving culture behind it and I wanted to explore every inch.

Dallas smiled and looked out the window.

"Yeah, it's exciting there's a lot of great places to visit, maybe we could go visit the Big Ben." He said while resting his head back. I gasped in shock, I had totally forgotten about the Big Ben. It's the pride and joy of London!

"Maybe we could if Austin would stop being a-"

"Stop being a what?" Austin popped up from his seat in front of me. He was currently sitting next to Dez who had fallen asleep and Austin being the little nosey boy he is wanted to sit in front of me to make sure everything was 'in check'.

I slid down in my seat, "What are you still sitting there for?" I asked.

He smirked, "Like I said...I'm making sure everything is in check."

Dallas sighed, "Austin it's not like I'm going to hit the girl. Can you at least stop watching us like a hawk? I can see you peeking through the wedge between the seats." I looked down so Austin wouldn't hear the small chuckle that escaped my lips.

"Not funny Dawson, don't make me get out the clipboard."

"I thought we were done with that?"

"Well, ya thought wrong. Now stop flirting and stay quiet." He snapped.

"We are not flirting!" Dallas and I yelled in unison.

I sighed and leaned back in my seat. Ever since the meeting, Austin has been getting harder and harder to work with anymore. I thought our days of fighting and arguing would stop after I helped him in the hospital but no, he just had to create another fire.

And he's been extremely bossy as well.

I know he's my boss but he's even more bossy than the usual. The day before the trip he asked me to get him some black coffee, so I did as I was ordered and brought him back the coffee he wanted and out of nowhere he poured the coffee into a trashcan and sat it on my desk.

Apparently he wanted cream coffee, but I'm pretty sure he had requested black coffee...

Anyways...

That's not even the beginning of it all. He suddenly started to get out that clipboard from the first day we actually started working together to observe my progress. And I thought we were friends but it turns out he's still headstrong on girls not being part of the detective department.

Heck...Like he knows what a girl is capable of.

"Dawson!" Austin yelled snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yes?" I answered slightly gritting my teeth while trying to hold back my irritation.

"Go get me some tea, make sure it's hot and not cold. Oh and don't forget to add sugar." He ordered me with a wave of his hand. I clenched my fist together and stood up walking towards the back of the plane.

I opened the door to the little kitchen and found a pot of tea that was sitting on the counter.

I grabbed a cup and poured in some tea and sugar. Quickly, I made my way back to Austin and handed him his tea. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow, "This tea better taste good." He warned.

I glared at him and he took a sip.

Suddenly he spit it out and coughed.

Are you flipping serious?! Dramatic much!?

"Why in the hell did you give me herbal tea?" He yelled while standing up.

Strangely, Dez didn't move an inch in his supposed deep slumber.

"What? That is not herbal tea!"

"Austin-"

"Stay out of this Dallas," he stepped closer to me, "I asked specifically for tea, not herbal tea. Why can't you do anything right?!"

"I'm doing the best I can with your stupid request! If I can't make your tea right then you can get up and make it yourself!" I yelled pushing him. His face turned red as he clenched his fist.

"Hey you guys-"

"Not now Dallas!" Austin and I said in unison.

Austin suddenly stepped closer, "You don't have any right to push me like that!"

"You don't have any right to boss me around like you do! We are partners, do you even remember that!?"

Austin leaned against Dez's seat, "Well maybe I don't want to be partners with you anymore."

I looked at him in shock, "Fine. Have it your way." I turned around and stormed out of the room, going towards the kitchen. I slammed the door shut and leaned against it sliding down.

I couldn't believe that just happened...

My eyes were starting to water as I buried my face in my hands.

All I wanted was to go to England and have the greatest trip of my life, not to mention take down the bad guys while having fun. I even thought that Austin and I would get over whatever dispute we were having, but I guess I was wrong to think that. I was wrong to think that Austin had changed since the day we first met.

He is and always will be a sexist manipulative jerk.

I can't believe I did all those things for him.

I stayed up with him at the hospital, been gathering information on the Memorial Bank radioactive bombing so he wouldn't have that much to worry about since he's been hurt twice trying to save my life.

I know I shouldn't be complaining since he is the reason that I'm okay today.

But I can't help but feel hurt by his actions...

Suddenly the speaker came on, "Attention everyone, we will be landing in approximately 5 minutes. Please remain calm and stay in your seats at all times. Thank you." I ignored the speaker and just stayed where I was.

It was pretty likely that Austin was still out there spewing with anger.

Austin's POV

"What the hell is up with you Austin?" Dallas asked.

I sat down in my seat and leaned back, "It doesn't matter. Just stay out of my business."

Dallas scoffed and stood up, "You know you're a real jerk sometimes? She did nothing wrong. I don't know how it escalated from her getting you some freaking tea to you wanting to end your partnership with her!"

"I swear Dallas if you don't shut up right this second I'll-"

"You'll what? You think I'm scared of you Austin? You're wrong." He spat.

I took a deep breath trying to calm my nerves that he had spiked up.

Suddenly Dallas kicked my seat.

I knew he was just trying to rile up my nerves, "Whatever you're trying to do Dallas, it won't work." I said while looking out the window. I didn't want to pay mind to someone who was just being childish.

But without a warning, he grabbed my hair and pulled my head back.

I stood up and growled at him, "Don't fucking touch my hair man."

"Well maybe if you would turn around and face me like a man I wouldn't have to try so hard to get your attention now would I?" He responded while coming over to stand next to Dez.

"You are supposed to remain in your seat, we're about to land."

Dallas chuckled, "I could care less about landing."

"Suit yourself then." I laid back in my seat as Dallas rolled his eyes and went to the back of the plane, probably going back there to find Ally. He's such a sentimental person sometimes, it makes him weak.

"You're a real bitch Moon." Dez mumbled in his sleep.

I stared at him in shock, "Excuse me?"

"I don't think I stuttered Austin, you heard me loud and clear."

"You were listening the whole time?" I asked. He opened his eyes and looked at me, "You really thought that I could sleep through all that ruckus? You're lucky that I even kept my eyes closed. When you're angry you tend to send your fury of spit flying everywhere."

I scoffed and turned away from him.

My hand reached up to my bottom lip.

I don't spit when I'm angry right?

"Anyways," Dez said while sitting up, "I think you should go and apologize."

"Oh really? Why should I apologize to her? She's the one who got my order wrong!"

He suddenly started to laugh, "You do the craziest things when you're jealous."

My hands clenched into a fist, "I am anything but jealous."

Dez cocked an eyebrow and angled his body to face mine, "Is that so old friend?"

I nodded in response.

"So you're telling me that you don't mind Centino and Dawson sharing a hotel room together...all alone? In that tight...cramped...room? What if she needs to change? You know how nosey and curious Centino gets, he could probably be a peeping tom." He exclaimed.

"Dez shut up. Dallas wouldn't peep."

"Then what are you getting so worked up about? If it's not jealousy why are you treating Dawson like some bitch?" He asked. I looked down, honestly I didn't know why I was treating Ally that way. I guess it started when I found out that she would be rooming with Dallas, but then again we did get into an argument before the meeting so that could have triggered it as well.

"Look Dez, I just don't want to be her partner and that's final." I answered.

He sighed and laid his head back, "I hope you know that you made a big mistake this time."

I watched as he closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

I looked out the window as the speaker came on announcing that we had finally landed in London and that we were to collect our things. I grabbed my things out of the holder and made my way towards the front of the plane with everybody else. I found myself scanning the small crowd for a patch of long brown hair but couldn't find it...or her.

On our way out Detective Jackson was waiting.

"Hello boys and welcome to London. I hope you brought all your belongings and equipment for this mission. Now as important as accomplishing the task at hand, I also want you guys to have some fun so please for the rest of the night relax and we start in the morning 6 am sharp. Don't be late."

I rolled my suitcase toward the van that was to drive some of us to the hotel.

"Austin over here!" Dez yelled.

I watched as he helped shove some suitcases into the back of the van.

"Is this car taking us to the hotel?" I asked while sitting my suitcase in the back as well.

He nodded, "Yup. Plus I hear the hotel has a pool so we should hit that up when we get there." He patted me on the back and went to the other side of the van. Suddenly I saw Dallas and Ally walking towards the van smiling and laughing.

Anger boiled within me and I couldn't help but turn around and spit out every curse word in the book.

Ally's POV

"Don't worry about a thing, I got your back." Dallas said as we walked up to the van, which Austin was currently standing at. I watched as he turned around quickly acting like he wasn't aware of our presence, but I'm pretty sure he was.

"Hi Austin," Dallas handed him his suitcase, "nice to know that you're helping out."

Austin smiled bitterly and shoved his suitcase in the back.

Suddenly he cleared his throat, "Do you want me to put yours in the back too?" Austin asked.

I felt myself blushing, "Y-Yeah sure," he grabbed my suitcase and shoved it in the back with the rest. I watched carefully as he took out his phone and walked around to the front of the van.

"Don't worry about him Dawson, he'll come around soon."

I crossed my arms over my chest, "Dallas, I don't want to be his partner anymore, I thought that we both made it clear back on the plane that we don't like each other obviously." I muttered.

"You guys are just stubborn." He put an arm around me and I stiffed up.

"Dallas I-"

"I can't wait to explore London with you, it's going to be amazing. Maybe I can help you get over Moon for a couple of days." We both walked towards the front of the van and hopped in. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that Austin was in the back with Dez playing on his phone.

A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A&A

We arrived at the hotel we were staying in and it turns out...it's a dump.

"What the hell?" Austin said crushing the pamphlet in his hands.

Dez grabbed the crushed pamphlet from Austin, "I thought Jackson said this was a five star hotel!"

"More like a one star hotel..." Dallas muttered.

"Well this is just my luck." Austin rolled his suitcase up to the front doors and went in walking towards the front desk. We all followed, holding our on suitcases. I sat in one of the chairs and watched Austin as he started to talk to the man behind the counter.

"Uh sir, is there a reservation for Moon?" He asked.

"Ah yes there is. Here's the card to your room and here are the rest of the cards for everyone else. Enjoy your stay here." He handed Austin the cards and Austin came back to the group.

"Okay guys, I guess this isn't a mistake so take your cards and go get set up." He handed everyone their cards and we all departed. Dez went with his group, which only left me, Dallas, and Austin standing in awkward silence.

"Uh...this way." He started walking down the hallway and stopped at a door.

"Wait a minute...why do you have a key to our room?" Dallas asked.

He turned around and cocked an eyebrow, "Excuse me, but why do you have a key to my room?"

"Whoa...does this mean...?" I grabbed the card from Dallas, swiped the door open, and gasped at the sight. There in fact were three twin beds, a bathroom and a small, yet convenient kitchen.

I turned around and saw that Austin was smiling, "Ah...looks like we'll be rooming together."

I glared at him as he walked past me. "We are most definitely not rooming with you."

"This is my room, and plus I don't think we have a choice with the kind of conditions we're in right now." He snapped while dumping things on a bed. He sat down and took in a deep breath while smiling.

Dallas and I looked at each other with pain.

"Oh don't look at each other like that. Let's try to get along." Austin said with a wink.

I felt my grip on my suitcase handle tighten.

He truly is going to be a pain in my ass...

A/N- Hey guys I'm sorry for the extremely late update I hope this makes up for all of it :) Make sure to review your thoughts!
