Clarity

Austin's POV

Darkness.

The one word that can manage to either scare you or haunt you at the same time. I'm lost in a world of darkness right now, deep in my darkest thoughts, painful memories, and deepest of desires. But to my surprise, there is only one thing that I desire, the one thing that has given me the greatest amount of pleasure.

And that is the one and only Ally Dawson.

I can't help but lose my breath when I'm near her...

Everything about her drives me crazy. Like the way she always seems to get annoyed by my words or how irritatingly cute she can be when she's nervous. I love the way she bites her lip when she's concentrating on something or how she chews her hair when she gets worried. Even though it's kind of disgusting... but other than that she still manages to make me go haywire.

And it's all because of her.

You might ask; How the hell do I know all this?

I can only answer you with a small reasoning and that is because I'm irrevocably, hopelessly, devotedly, in love with Ally Dawson.

The past few days have been like hell with Ally, we've been through Hades and back but I'd rather walk through it with her any day. She's the only reason I hold onto love these days.

Diving deeper into my thoughts I remember the painful memories as well.

It's weird how they all trace back to me hurting Ally in a way. You know how I kept Dylan's secret romance from her after all she's done for me, how I nearly seduced Cassidy, and how I yelled at her just so I could please my friends and feel like I fit in with them.

If only time travel was real.

I would redo that day in a heartbeat. I think that was the deal breaker for Ally that day. I remember her tear stained cheeks, the way her eyes glistened with sadness yet they still seemed to shine brighter than the sun.

And what did I do? I drove off with that bitch named Cassidy, I should have known she was a mistake from the beginning. Was I really that naive? That desperate to want sexual pleasure from someone as much as Cassidy?

I screwed up, I'll admit that.

And then there came my darkest thoughts.

I remember the day Noah invited mt over to his house. He knew about Cassidy at the time but played it off as if he never even knew her.

Yes he was that good of an actor.

But then there stood Ally, with her brown doe eyes, hair pulled up into a mess bun, it was hard to not want to push Cassidy out the door and mock her out. But I had to restrain myself, I had to act as if I wanted Cassidy.

When we started to play that video game and Ally sat in his lap, I could feel my own blood boiling. I was even thinking of knocking over his TV set. I couldn't contain myself, so I grabbed Cassidy and that's when I just had to get in my god damn jealous mode and ask to play truth or dare.

That's when it all went down hill for all of us.

Somehow Dylan magically appeared at the exact time, finding out that I've had some affair with Cassidy, also on top of that Ally had to find out that we were somewhat sexually active. God it was so embarrassing.

Yet it was strange how Noah was the calmest of us all...

He just sat there anger on his face but I could read Noah like a book, he wasn't actually mad at me, he was obviously pretending to get on Ally's good side, I never knew he could be so slick.

Besides all the drama of course Noah yells for Cassidy to leave, Ally runs out crying, and we all end up chasing after her. Noah was the only one that managed to sneak his way inside. For some strange reason I wanted to punch Noah, he didn't seem surprised about how Ally didn't know or how Dylan didn't know.

Heck I'm not even sure he knew they were dating at the time, but I've always felt like Noah knows more than he's showing me...

And then it came; the big shot gun to the heart.

When I cracked the door open Noah was basically devouring Ally's mouth. I held back the urge to bust the door open and throw Noah against the wall. But then she opened her eyes and we made contact, suddenly I got frightened and closed the door. I honestly didn't know what else to do other than go home and slap myself but thanks to Dylan I couldn't get in the god damn house, let alone sneak inside.

Then there came the day where I met up with Dylan's little hoodlum posse.

Daniel the leader has always been the annoying bastard of the group. He was in charge of everything, he was actually so good that he had connections with other gangs outside of Florida. He's always creeped me out but he's never scared me.

That would be a cold day in hell if I ever let that happen.

Everything just had to collapse on me of course.

I punched Dylan, kissed Ally, and got cut by Daniel. Aren't I just a good luck charm?

But I must say it was all worth it because if I hadn't gotten stabbed I wouldn't have felt Ally's lips upon mine one last time. I wouldn't be able to hear her laugh, her giggle, her voice that filled the empty void in my chest.

I wouldn't have been able to save my last breath that morning to say the things I've wanted to say to Ally for a long time. I remember everything that morning. I remember taking pill after pill after pill. I found myself getting addicted again but that was only because the pills weren't helping fast enough and I was getting impatient.

Before I knew it I was sweating tremendously, my cut was bleeding, my breathing didn't even sound close to normal, and my vision was blurring. I felt like I was dying but I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Because Ally was there, she was there with me.

A confused smile on her face, her cheeks showing a tint of red. It was a memory i wouldn't dare to forget.

But that's all I remember. Now all I can see is Ally.

{Line Break}

My eyes fluttered open and I awoke from my slumber and deep train of thoughts.

"Doctor he's awake!" I heard a familiar voice right through the air. I then realized it was my younger step brother Dylan. I looked over to see him, his eyes were glued to mine.

"W-what the heck i-is g-going on? Where the hell am I?" I demanded angrily.

Dylan smiled a strange smile. It almost looked sympathetic.

I frowned.

I hated sympathy.

"You're in the hospital getting care for some drug overdose." He explained pulling up a chair beside me. My body began to ache all over and I felt sick. My stomach felt all twisted up in knots.

"Hello Mr. Moon, I'm Dr. Iris." A woman said entering the room. She came over and extended a hand, I awkwardly shook it and she smiled. She pulled out a clipboard from the other end of the bed. "Seems here you've had an overdose on your prescription before am I correct?" She asked.

I nodded, "Dr. Iris, I can assure you that I am absolutely stable now. No worries, now if you'll excuse me..." I pulled the covers off of me but Dylan reached over and held me down. "Dylan? What the heck?" I snapped.

"I need to go find Ally!"

Dylan shook his head, "Austin it's been a day and she hasn't came back since yesterday afternoon. I don't know if she's at school, if she's hanging out with Noah or if she's out with Kellyanne or something."

I scoffed.

Ally going out with Noah and not me? That's absurd and almost hard to believe. Ally wouldn't choose Noah over me, I'm absolutely positively sure that can't be the truth to the matter. "Mr. Moon right now you're in a bad condition. We are trying to get the poison out of your system before it moves to your heart and automatically kills you." Dr. Iris explained gently.

I blinked back the shock, "What do you mean kill me? My pills aren't made to kill me or much less poison me!"

She stepped back probably afraid of my tone of voice and cleared her throat.

"As I was saying, you could go into critical condition any minute now judging on how fast the poison is spreading throughout your system. I assure you our doctors are trying our hardest to keep the poison from spreading." She gave me a reassuring smile but I could see past her facade.

I could see there was more to the story then just some simple treatment that's keeping me alive. I knew I had a time limit on my life left and she just didn't have the guts to say it to my face.

She sighed and put the clipboard on the end table, "Now Mr. Moon no physical movement, anything like that can make the poison spread even quicker." She said with a serious look gleaming in her green orbs. She waved Dylan goodbye and left us alone.

I sat up now fully aware of my surroundings.

"I'm dying Dylan..."

I could feel an unwanted tear slip down my cheek and onto my blanket.

"Come on Austin don't give up hope, the doctors said they are trying their hardest." Dylan explained.

I rolled my eyes at his stupidity, as if a doctor could fix the problem. Suddenly I asked a question, "What was I poisoned with?"

"Miditori."

I glared at Dylan and my hands clenched tightly around the bed sheets. I felt my blood boil with anger.

"Miditori!?" I growled in anger. Dylan cocked an eyebrow, "Yes, why are you getting so worked up?" He asked.

"You mean the Miditori Daniel sells to drug dealers off the streets?!" I yelled. Dylan ran his fingers through his hair as reality finally hit him. "No, you can't possibly think he found out about your pills and swapped them with Miditori!"

I nodded. No matter how many times Dylan was against it I truly believed that Daniel was the little punk that switched my pills. "Maybe it was an accident!" Dylan retorted.

My hands dropped to my sides and I gave Dylan a cold stare.

"...Okay, maybe not so much of an accident."

"You're an idiot." I muttered. He rolled his eyes and stood up. "Well we've got to do something about it. He's probably the only one with the antidote.!" Dylan grabbed his wallet and stuffed it in his pocket as he headed for the door.

I cleared my throat, "Where the hell do you think you're going?" I snapped.

Dylan cocked an eyebrow, "What does it look like? I'm going to go convict Daniel of poisoning you!"

I sighed and hung my head.

Him and Ally were really something...

"Well if you're going to convict him I'm coming with you."

"Oh no you're not." He argued. "Excuse me Dylan but you are not the boss of me here." I snapped. "Oh I'm sorry Austin I didn't know you wanted to be setting yourself up for your own demise." He yelled.

I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to stay under bed rest. But who gives a damn about bed rest? I was going to give Daniel a piece of my mind and then I'm going to go find Ally.

There problem solved.

"Look Dylan you have to do this for me. I need some answers and the only way you're going to get them is if I beat them out of Daniel so we're getting out of here." I said pulling the sheets off of me.

He laughed, "Don't tell me I have to break you out of a freaking hospital for crying out loud!"

I gave him a bland stare and his eyes went wide. "I'll be okay for today don't you worry. Miditori works faster on kids than adults or teenagers." I explained. Dylan groaned and ran some fingers through his hair. "We're going to get in some much fucking trouble." He muttered as he went over to help me get out of the bed.

"Well at least we can tell mom and Derek that we did some sibling bonding over the week when they get back." I smiled and he glared. "We will have to sneak out through that window. We're only on the first floor so it should be safe." Dylan spoke as we struggled to walk over to the window.

My knee's felt numb so it was getting harder and harder to walk with each passing moment.

He opened up the glass window.

"Oh no oh no Austin we can't go any further." He whined.

My hands dropped to my side. "What are you whining about now?" I snapped.

"There's a thorn bush." He complained.

What a girl.

I rolled my eyes and suddenly pushed him out the window. I heard a loud thump along with a groan of pain.

"You're welcome!" I teased as I stepped outside. It was warm and I embraced the feeling for as long as I could knowing I would end up back in the hospital after this. Dylan moaned and got up from the bush as he plucked thorn's from his shirt.

"You know I'm breaking you out of a hospital, I can send you right back if I want."

I smirked, "But you won't, I know you want to kick Daniel's ass just as much as I do right now."

He growled and we walked through the lawn discreetly sneaking our way into the parking lot. As badly as my body was aching right now I had bigger issues I had to take car of before it was too late. My hand clamped around my side, I could feel the blood dripping down my side as I continued to move.

"What's wrong?" Dylan asked suddenly.

I groaned, "Just get me to your car."

He nodded and we found his car, he unlocked it and I got into the passengers seat. I lifted up my shirt and saw that the bandage was soaked in blood. "Aye Dylan you got bandages?" I asked.

"Yeah." He reached into the back of his car and pulled out a package of bandages. I sighed in relief as I opened it and started to wrap the bandage around my side. I hissed in pain but managed to finish in no time.

"Hey isn't that Kellyanne?" Dylan pointed to a girl with dark brown hair. My eyes went wide and I rolled down the window, "Kellyanne!" I yelled. She turned around and I waved my hand for her to come over. She cocked an eyebrow but ran over to us.

"Austin what are you doing? I thought you were in the hospital!" She yelled.

I rolled my eyes, "Wait Ally's not with you?" I asked. She shook her head, "No, actually I haven't seen Ally since yesterday when school ended."

"So Ally never showed up at school?" Dylan snapped. Kellyanne nodded, "Yeah, I guess she's sick." She said sadly. "Kellyanne you live my neighborhood right?"

"Yeah so?"

"Did you see a black Jeep in the Ryder's driveway on the way out of there?"

She pouted her lip and tapped her fingers against the car trying to remember, "Actually now that you mention it, there was no black Jeep at all."

I groaned and ran my fingers through my hair, this was going to be a lot harder than I thought. "Kellyanne come with us we're going to need you." I ordered. She sighed and hopped inside the backseat. "You so owe me for this later."

I rolled my eyes, "There's always a catch to you."

She smiled at me and Dylan started the car backing out of the parking space.

{Line Break}

Dylan backed up into the parking space and the car died out.

We were at Toronto beach. Dylan knew that Daniel was here he could just feel it.

We all got out of the car, Kellyanne right by my side. I saw Daniel and his posse skateboarding down the boardwalk. Suddenly Daniel appeared out of nowhere, he jumped off his skateboard and picked it up as he walked over to us.

A smirk tugging at his lips, "Austin Moon? You're still alive? I'm surprised I'd thought you'd be dead by now."

I grabbed his shirt pushing him against a nearby palm tree. "You're the one who did this to me now give me the antidote and maybe I won't report you to the cops for having an illegal drug in your possession!" I barked angrily.

He laughed, a venomous look in his eyes.

"He wasn't the one." Kellyanne spoke. I looked back at her in confusion, "Kelly? What the hell are you talking about? This punk is the little culprit!" Dylan snapped in anger. "Someone paid him for the drug, he's a drug dealer, he only provides the drug he doesn't do the dirty work for them with the risk of getting caught by the police." She explained.

"And how do you know all this?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes, "My dad's a policeman at the sheriff's department down in Michigan, after my parents got divorced I've had to go down there every summer to spend time with him, there are a lot of drug dealers and one troublesome gang there."

My grip loosened on Daniel and he smirked.

"Thanks gorgeous." He walked over to her and patted her shoulder. She smacked his hand away and he sighed, "Feisty one."

"I'll literally punch you if you don't walk away right now." She snapped. "Walk away? Alright." Daniel turned on his heel and started walking away.

I don't know who could have possibly done this to me, now I felt like I wouldn't find any justice for myself. Daniel suddenly yelled, "Oh and Austin, don't you have somewhere to be tonight? After all it is the full moon, you wouldn't break a promise to a best friend now would you?"

My eyes opened wide and my fist clenched.

I could hear Daniel's wicked laughter as I swallowed back some fear. Dylan looked at me, shock piercing through his eyes. "No way...it couldn't have been him. He's been an angel ever since he's gotten here." Dylan tried to explain.

"Wait who are we talking about?" Kellyanne asked. I leaned against the palm tree, "We're talking about Noah." Dylan snapped.

Kellyanne laughed and slapped her knee, "You mean the bad ass Seven Devil from Michigan?" She questioned. Both Dylan and I cocked an eyebrow at her. "What do you mean Seven Devil?" I asked.

"You've seriously never heard of that gang?"

We both shook our heads and she sighed and took a seat on the bench across from us. "Well Ms. Know-It-All why don't you enlighten us on the subject?" Dylan sneered. She glared at him and crossed her legs.

"Okay well one day when my father brought me to the office for bring your daughter to work day I saw a bunch of these girls just entering the room one by one. They were all handcuffed and crap, they looked totally innocent to me." She said nonchalantly.

Dylan rolled his eyes, "What does that have to do with the Seven Devils?" He snapped. She glared at him, "So I remember all of them saying that they all belonged to a group called the Seven Devils. They were girlfriends of six of the Seven Devils."

"Yeah okay but that still didn't say what the Seven Devils-"

"God damn it can you shut up and let me talk Dylan!" Kellyanne screeched at him. He stepped back and crossed his arms over his chest. "Well after they were taken in one got to go home and I talked to her. We became friends as strange as it sounded but she told me everything about the Seven Devils. They are basically a group of seducers, drug dealers, and perverts. They practically seduced woman into thinking everything they say or do is right. Later I then found out more about them, they were also people who used women just so they could stick up for them and they wouldn't get caught for their crimes and they wouldn't get locked up. The girls were brainwashed if you ask me!" She explained.

Womanizer's...

"The girls name was Clarissa and boy was she a mess. She had to go to therapy for two years just because of what her "boyfriend" did to her. The men were awful and cruel, they turned all the innocent girls into some sex addict's!" She snapped angrily.

Dylan shook his head, "So let me get this straight, they seduce women and then claim them as their's, the women take the blame for their crimes, they get caught, they lose use for them, and then the cycle starts all over again?"

Kellyanne nodded in agreement.

"That's sickening." I spat.

"So there's no doubt Noah has Ally." Dylan said. Pain struck through me like lighting, but it wasn't because of the physical pain it was because of the emotional pain surging through me. The thought of Ally becoming a sex addict, some slave to Noah's every will.

"But Noah was recently kicked out of their group because he came back here to Miami. Apparently the rumors say he was looking for some angel he could love on." Kellyanne said nonchalantly.

Don't be afraid to tell the truth angel.

Noah's voice rang through my mind. I remember those words he said to Ally while we were playing truth or dare.

I shook Kellyanne's shoulders and kissed her cheek, "What the...?" She asked.

"You're a genius Kelly! She solved it all for us!" I cheered. "What are you talking about?" Dylan asked. "Noah has been behind all of this all along, he invited Ally over just so she could find out about Cassidy and I, I bet Noah even messaged you for you to come over to his house, and he paid Daniel to stab me and he also paid him for the poison! He's been trying to ruin me because he knows I lo- like Ally!" I said nervously.

I ran towards Dylan's car and grabbed two extra shirts in the back.

They both came up to me weird expression's clear upon their features. I handed them the shirts and Dylan cocked an eyebrow, "What the hell is this for?" He asked. "Just put it around your eyes." I ordered.

We all got inside the car.

I started the engine and backed up out of the parking space. I only had an hour before it eight o'clock... only an hour before the full moon.

"Austin where are we going?" Kelly asked as she tied the shirt around eyes.

I chuckled and smirked, "Now what kind of best friend would I be to Noah if I broke my own promise?"
