The Uprising
Ally's POV
"What do you mean the gods can't fix him!?" I yelled as Hannah and I walked through the woods. I pulled out my cell and looked at the time, it was only 10:45 pm at night. Time really does slow down when you're being chased by a crazy power thriving machine of a god.
"Ally I'm sorry but there's nothing they can really do. Olympian gods can't really do anything about this without him dying possibly..." Hannah said with a sigh as we continued our walk through the woods.
"We have to go back for him."
"No we're can't. He could be working for Demeter or the Nyx for all we know!" She said exasperated. "Well we can't just sit and watch him destroy himself." I said pulling my hair back in a small ponytail. I could still hear the soft rhythm of my heart beat speed up, without Austin things weren't going to be the same anymore.
"Ally chill out for the love of gods!" Hannah yelled rapidly shaking my shoulders pulling me out of my present thoughts. "We'll get him back I promise."
"But.." I started. "No buts, we'll save him. We may not get along but I see the way you looked at him even though he was some monster. Don't worry I'll get someone to help."
"Yeah like who there's no other god on this planet that I know right now." I said crossing my arms. Little by little fear was creeping into my mind but I pushed the thoughts away refusing to let them get the better of me.
"Well...I do know this one goddess. She should be able to help." Hannah said with a small but doubtful look on her face. A goddess though? What kind of goddess could help us? There's no other goddess on earth other than...wait no, no, no, no! "Hannah we are not getting help from Artemis!"
"How did you know it was Artemis?" She asked as we jumped over a little pond to get to the other side.
"Because Artemis is trying to win back Austin." I could feel a little tear trickle down my cheek. So I had very crummy and crappy options to get Austin back, either to hand him over to Artemis his ex lover or rip out his heart and let him die...my life is just full of wonders.
"Oh crazy Artemis oh yeah that is the goddess we have to see she's the only one I know that can do something about all of this." She said with a simple wave of the hand. "There has to be another option."
"Yeah we can find his heart and rip it to pieces that'll be a joy." Hannah said sarcastically as we came across a small neighborhood filled with apartments. The neighborhood looked a little run down. Water spewed out of broken down pipe's, paint peeled down on some of the walls and the grass around the buildings needed to be cut down. "Who lives here?" I asked as we zipped through the parking lot.
"We're going to see Artemis."
Oh so this is where Austin goes to see her...
I sighed as we walked up to the front doors of the first apartment building. Hannah's hand glowed a bright color and flashed quickly blinding my eyes for a moment. "Ok we're in." She said pulling brutally on the door as it wouldn't budge. "Are you sure?" I asked as she struggled to open the door.
"Yeah totally sure. It's...just... that I might...need to...work...on...my ugh!" Hannah yelled in anger giving the door one final pull before stumbling back and still the door was closed. "You know what. I think I might know a way to get in."
I slammed on the door rapidly. "I'm coming! I'm coming!" A voice said. Right before I could step back the door swung open and there stood Artemis. "Oh I thought you were Ascelpius. He normally likes to come here this late." She said her voice dripping with sarcasm and competition.
Hannah then spoke up, "Anyways... we need your help."
"No, you want her help." I stated crossing my arms firmly over my chest. Artemis rolled her eyes and leaned against the doorway a casual smirk playing across her lips. "You guys are pathetic, just so you know. Now back to the point, who needs my help for what exactly?" She asked.
"Ascelpius."
Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and I just knew there was no way we were going to get her out of this. Looks like I'm stuck with the crazy ex lover. "Oh Ascelpius," she clapped her hands together and smiled wickedly starring me down, "I would love to help him. After all we do love each other."
That was enough to piss me off. It all happened in a flash. I grabbed her shirt slamming her up against a wall hard. She laughed almost amusingly, "You really think you're one of us don't you? A true goddess of war? Peace? Love? Hades no."
"And what does that make you huh?" I asked tightening my grip on her shirt. "A true goddess A goddess anyone would adore. Although for you, you couldn't even protect Austin from his worst nightmares. He needs someone who's not afraid to gut someone else's throat, he needs me." She said looking me in the eyes.
"Come on Athena. Kill me. You know you want to so just do it. Your jealousy is getting in the way so just end me right here right now prove to me you're a true goddess!"
A deep growl arose from my throat and I threw her to the ground. She started to laugh and rose to her feet. "You're weak Athena, you were born of the most powerful god and you choose to not be like him?"
I turned on my heels walking up to her. "Be like him? Be like my biological father who chose power over me? The one who put a curse on the world?"
She chuckled, "You're pathetic, you're nothing but pathetic Ascelpius was right."
"Artemis stop it this instant." Hannah said in a firm voice. "Not until I set little miss princess straight!" Artemis yelled as her hands began to glow a dark blood red. Her eyes started to light up a vibrant yellow color.
I could feel my blood start to boil, an unknown anger welled up inside of me and I felt more power surge through my body like a river. "Ally don't you're not trained for this!" Hannah yelled trying to keep us apart but I couldn't help but ignore her pleas.
My hands started to glow a fiery orange, the power surging through my body mad me feel indestructible.
Artemis then ran towards me ready to strike but I easily dodged it switching over to the other side. She glared at me and soon flashes of light came out from her hand coming directly towards me. I focused all my energy on them and they froze in mid air, I turned them around so they aimed at Artemis. "O-oh o-ok A-ally I'm sorry...please don't hurt me I-i'm sorry!" She begged. But I couldn't help myself I wanted to end her, I wanted her to feel my pain. With a wave of my hand the dark blood red light came hurdling at her.
But out of nowhere it stopped. "Stop!" She screamed. Her hands were glowing a bright purple. "Why did you do that!?" I yelled at her. "Because," pause, "Killing each other isn't the answer so either suck up your crappy mood or Ascelpius dies!"
I took a deep breath and let down my guard. The surge of power that once coursed through my body was slowly draining me inside and out. "Fine but I am not working with her."
"And I'm not working with her!" Artemis argued back.
Nyx Headquarters (3rd person)
"Ah, Ascelpius what brings you here?" Victoria said with a greedy smile.
Ascelpius sat down in an empty chair, droplets of rain slid down the side of his cheek. "I want in."
Victoria knew why he had come here in the first place, this was all part of her devious plan. Get the wild mast mind on her team and break into Mount Olympus there was no improvising in her line of work. Everything had to be placed to perfection.
"And you want in why?" She asked with poise.
Ascelpius stood up and slammed his fist on the desk, "To god damn put Poseidon in his freaking place! That son of a bitch sentenced me to this god forsaken place! I want in and I want in now!" He demanded with fury.
"Ascelpius calm down. I would say I'm lucky to have you on the team but you have to prove yourself." Victoria said with ease. Somehow his demeanor wasn't intimidating her one bit. His anger to her was somewhat amusing...
"Prove myself? Ha, I'm out of here." Ascelpius said with a wave of his hand. He turned on his heels and headed for the door.
Victoria sat there still remaining cool, calm and collected. "Now wait right here young man I'm not finished with you yet. I said you have to prove yourself yet you don't know how."
Ascelpius stopped in his tracks and turned back around to face the young lady.
"How." he said in annoyance. "Kill Athena."
"Kill Athena? You mean Ally? Kill the person I've been after for a couple days now? I don't think so. That war is on my own terms. When I snap the little brats neck in half I'll do that on my own time and own place."
"So I'm taking you don't want to join?" Victoria was getting anxious and her patience was slowly melting away. His attitude brought out the worst in her or as some would say...
"No, I'm doing it my way." Ascelpius said. Heading for the door. Victoria cleared her throat, standing up from her chair.
"You do know that I want Athena first."
"Well no dip Sherlock." Ascelpius said sarcastically. "Then you know that we'll have to destroy you, actually...I will destroy you. I have worked too hard for this and Athena may be the final key to our answer."
"No she's the key to my Titan's curse with her heart I'll have the power to rule over anything. Even the insignificant things... like you." Ascelpius said with a smirk. He loved the way he could get under people's skin it made him feel powerful.
"Then it's a race, I presume."
Ascelpius nodded and walked out of the room slamming the door shut, "Let the games begin."
