Hero of Heroes
"Now! The moment you've all been waiting for!" An announcer said proudly "Who will be this years Grand Prix Champion?" Suddenly a large full moon appears with twinkling stars "Who will be our 'Hero of Heroes'?!"
A crowd cheers as we see a set with a stage and see several heroic figures on stage, the first was a purple and silver armoured warrior with some red highlights and a purple scarf around his neck announcer announces "Will it be last year's runner up, Kamen Rider Hibiki?!"
It then pans to the next one a hero in a green and black gi with a white helmet as the announcer says "Or maybe the Great Saiyaman all the way from the lovely Satan City?!" The next were a group of several high school students in hero gear as he said "I see the students of a certain U.A Hero Academy are raring to win!" The last on stage was a hero in a red nuclear themed hero costume as the announcer said "And Radioactive Man doesn't want to go home without the prize!"
"We hope Lady Luck is with all our heroes tonight!" The annoucer said as the drum roll starts "And now! The winner of the 15th annual Hero of Heroes Grand Prix…"
"IS ME!" A voice calls out as the fake moon is sliced in half and coming down from it is a figure in a white ranger outfit with black and gold trim highlights and wielded twin swords all with a dino theme. He lands on the stage and twirls one of his swords and juggles it.
"Whooooooa!" The annoucer calls out "The true hero of the night has appeared in our midst!" The ranger hero holsters the blade he isn't twirling and that opens up a large fan behind him which had on it 'Hall of Heroes Super Hero' much to the shock and in some annoyance of the other heroes "It looks like this year's Grand Prix goes to this fantastic warrior! The White Dino Ranger!"
The audience cheers as confetti falls, the Annoucer goes to Hibiki and placing a hand on his shoulder said "Too bad, Kamen Rider Hibiki. Looks like the title eluded you again this year!" As he goes to the other heroes, no one notices Hibiki glaring at the White Dino Ranger and clenching his fists.
March 20, 7:42 PM. Tipton Hotel, Viola Hall
We wee J, Jaden and Kairi sitting at a table in the hall where the Hero of Heroes Grand Prix was being held, they were sitting with their friend and former client Johnny Bravo the star who portrayed the White Ranger and Red Samurai Ranger who invited them to attend this years Hero of Heroes Grand Prix as Johnny's special guests.
"Alright! Yes!" Jaden cheers happily "Did you hear that, J?! Did you?! The White Dino Ranger! He did it!"
"Yeah, he sure did…" J said and sighs "I'm metaphorically getting too old for this."
"Ah, I'm proud of the guy for doing the series justice." Johnny said smiling.
"U-Um…So the person everyone was cheering for…I guess he got the prize?" Kairi asked smiling.
"Yup!" Jaden said nodding. "You know who we're talking about right Kairily? 'The White Dino Ranger'!"
"No." Kairi said shaking her head "Every Sunday, I only watch the Educational Channel's 'Kids Masterpiece Theatre'."
"Okay, that's it!" Jaden said firmly "From now on, it's 'The White Dino Ranger'! All the kids watch it!"
"Do you like 'The White Dino Ranger' too, Miss. J?" Kairi asked.
"Nah, J is what we call an old fart." Jaden said shaking her head
"Now why would you call me that?" J asked at that. "Though to be honest I also enjoy watching Kids Masterpiece Theatre as well."
"Oh I didn't know you were young at your core, J. Though I shouldn't be too surprised." Jaden said and holds up a familiar black and silver keyring "You did use to carry this around a lot."
"What is that?" Kairi asked curious.
"Well, I'll be a monkey's momma, that's a symbol of one of the Toa Rangers." Johnny said smiling "You know that group actually won the first ever Hero of Heroes Grand Prix. That takes me back."
"She just had it sitting in her desk draw but I think it is time for it to come out again." Jaden explained
"I actually had it in there for a reason." J said sweat dropping, she left it in her draw since Hunter left as it brought painful memories.
"Look doesn't matter, this was like your lucky charm so you got it keep it." Jaden said and taks out from J's check pocket the Logic Solver Keychain and attaches two keychains together "There we go two luck charms."
"I guess…" J said and sighs looking at the Toa Ranger Keychain she will keep it out until Jaden forgets about it, then back in the drawer it goes.
"Well I think Miss. J should act her age and have more adult interests that match instead of childish ones." Kairi said and then said smiling lovingly at J and Jaden "…It's very important."
"Aw, give it a rest, Kairily!" Jaden said sighing.
"Looks like I made the right choice in inviting everyone here." Johnny said smiling. "I'm glad you're all having a good time."
"Aaaaah….It's like a dream!" Jaden said happily.
"Too bad for Kamen Rider Hibiki, though." Johnny said looking at the stage. "Last year, he lost to The Red Samurai Ranger: Warrior of Ancient Dynasty Kingdom. I thought this might be his year…"
"Yeah…" Jaden said nodding "Oh, hey, did anyone else think that the Kamen Rider Hibiki looked a bit different today?"
"Different? What do you mean?" Kairi asked.
"Um, well, he wasn't carrying his bight red Ongekibou aka his Sound Attack Clubs." Jaden points out,
"Hey, you're right!" Johnny said nodding "Strange he'd walk around without his signature weapons."
J mentally sighs putting her Keychains in her chest pocket and thinks 'I will never understand these people and their shows these days…' She then said "Anyway, Mr. Bravo, thank you very much for tonight.
"A-Aw, it was nothing…I ow you one, so it's just my way of saying thanks." Johnny said rubbing his head "It was a shame my momma couldn't make it, she really wanted to meet the people who helped me out from back then."
"Hey, J! Come on! It's time to get going to the lobby!" Jaden says happily. "There's a post-ceremony stage show that's supposed to start real soon."
"And then, I heard there's going to be a press conference after that." Johnny added to that.
"A press conference?" J asked confused "Is he going to make a speech about winning this year's prize?"
"Uh, well, not exactly…. Something about the White Dino Ranger confessing something." Johnny said thinking.
"Confessing…? Sounds pretty serious." J said thinking on it.
"Argh! J! COME ON! You don't want us to be the last ones there, do you?!" Jaden asked annoyed.
"Yeah, Miss. J! Do you?!" Kairi added on.
'Why me…? The show doesn't even start for another 20 minutes...' J thinks to that. Before going J said to Johnny "Again, thank you very much for inviting us today."
"Aww, it was nothing really." Johnny said smiling "Guys like us don't get to come to a place like this often, so I thought I'd invite you all."
"Hey, Mr. Bravo! What have you been up to lately?" Jaden asked him.
"Well, since 'The Red Samurai Ranger' successfully wrapped up last month, I've been on a kid's exercise show…" Johnny said proudly then said sweat dropping "…while wearing a rabbit mask over my face…"
"Oh, I see." Jaden said nodding.
"I'm still really sorry about all the headache I caused you that time, Miss. J." Johnny told her.
"Ah, well. What's done is done, so let's forget about it." J told him. In her mental palace she thinks 'This is Johnny Bravo. He's an action star. His popularity exploded when he was the White Ranger. And he was the first case Jaden worked on with me.'
"It's too bad you look kind of scary, or people'd know you're a real softy who's good with kids." Jaden said smiling.
"Um, thanks." Johnny said sweat dropping.
"I can't believe they're going to make a movie based on the White Dino Ranger." J said thinking.
"I can't believe it either, but for a different reason!" Jaden said happily.
J thinks about the White Ranger poster as she said "The White Ranger. An epic story of one hero in a desperate fight against his arch-nemesis, the evil robot Evox, in the city of Network Kingdom." She then thinks of the White Dino Ranger poster which she hads in her backpack that Jaden forced on her to carry "And last year, they started a new series, 'The White Dino Ranger'. The new series seems to be a hit with the kids, too."
"I'm really attached to the White Ranger as a show, so I was hoping that maybe I'd get a chance to do something in this new one…" Johnny admits to them.
"Yeah, it's too bad…" Jaden said sighing "It'd been awesome to see you with the new actor, Goro Akechi. He's super popular right now."
"Mr. Ack-techi...?" Kairi said trying to pronounce the last name.
'Looks like Kairin doesn't know who he is.' J thinks at that smiling.
"This year, it's going to be the White Dino Ranger vs. Kamen Rider Hibiki at the box office!" Jaden said thinking about it.
"….Kamen Rider Hibiki…? Who's that again?" J asked confused she saw him on stage, but she doesn't fully know who this particular Kamen Rider is being familiar with the franchise. "So, who is this 'Kamen Rider Hibiki' again?"
"He's a hero, dug." Jaden said smiling "His signature weapon is the bright red Ongekibou clubs he's always carrying."
'A ninja who's always carrying around bright red clubs…? How does that even work?!' J thinks confused.
Jaden shows the Hibiki poster that standing on a hilltop as he explains "With his scarf around his neck and Ongekibou in his hands, he rises to stardom in an ancient time."
"A ninja Kamen Rider…Who becomes a star?" J asked surprised.
"Yeah! A ninja Kamen Rider who becomes a star!" Jaden said nodding.
"There's a strong rivalry between the two of them." Johnny tells the two. "Vox Studios' White Dino Ranger and Desire Grand Studios' Kamen Rider Hibiki. They even air at the same time."
"You know what I heard? I heard those two don't get along at all." Jaden said thinking. "The White Dino Ranger's Akechi and the guy who plays the Kamen Rider Hibiki, I mean."
'The White Dino Ranger speaks Japanese? Oh, you mean Goro Akechi, the actor…' J thinks and then says "I guess even the world of heroes isn't a sparkling, happy place."
"Y-Yeah…" Johnny said nodding.
J then move to the hallway while Johnny, Jaden and Kairi stay behind.
March 20, Tipton Hotel, Hallway
They arrive in the hallway and find it full of flowers by two room doors. J said "Wow, what is with this place? Looks like I've stumbled into Narnia or something. Way in the back, there's a sign for the bathroom. Maybe I should vist it while I can, to make sure my hair is right before the show starts…"
She looks at the purple disc and sees a label and read 'To Mr. Akechi. From the Vox Studios Staff' Ah, it's be nice if lawyers got flowers too. Something like, 'To Miss. J. From All Your Grateful Clients'." She then looks at the door by the disk and said "There's a piece of paper taped to the door that says 'Goro Akechi's Room'. 'Goro Akechi'…I've hear that name before. Oh yeah, Jaden's always yammering about him like the bossed fan he is…"
She looks at the other door which had a lot more impressive display of flowers from different companies, also some Ursaring toys and looks at the door. "'Alejandro's Room'. 'Alejandro'…His name just sounds like a star's name. I've heard it before, but I don't know anything about him at all."
After making sure her hair was right she head back to the Viola Hall.
As soon as she arrives Johnny greets her and said "Sounds like the post-ceremony show is about to start."
"Alright! I'm so pumped!" Jaden cheers "I wonder if he's going to show off his special move today? 'White Dino Slash!'"
"Actually, what I'm interested in most is the press conference." Johnny said thinking
"You mean the 'big confession' the White Dino Ranger's going to make after the show?" Jaden asked. "So, what is it? Don't you know what it's about, Mr. Bravo?"
"Um, well, I'm not the White Ranger anymore, so I don't have any idea." Johnny admits.
"Bah." Jaden said looking down.
"S-Sorry…" Johnny tells him. "Ah, so I guess you are all going to the press conference then?"
"Yeah, of course!" Jaden said determined.
"If that's the case, then here, take these tickets so you can get itn." Johnny said smiling handing them some tickets. J takes her Press Conference Ticket that had 16 on it and logs it into the court record. She said "Thank you very much. Well, let's get going to the lobby."
"It looks like it's over this way, Miss. J!" Kairi said excited.
"Okay! For great justice!" Jaden said firmly.
The group then head for the lobby.
March 20, Tipton Hotel, Hotel Lobby
As they enter the lobby J looking on it said "Hmmm…Only a really gaudy hotel would have such a large, gaudy lobby to match."
"Ah, I think they're going to have the post-ceremony show over there." Kairi said happily pointing at a small stage that was set up.
"They're using a compact stage, I see." J said thinking.
"Ooh…I'm, all ready to use my special 'Ranger Power'." Jaden said looking serious.
'Jaden looks like he's ready to start a fight…' J thinks
"Your attention please, your attention please." A PA system said. "The White Dino Ranger's Post-Ceremony Stage Show will not be held tonight due to unforeseen circumstances."
"WHAAAT?! WHYYYYY?!" Jaden asked shocked and annoyed and he pinches J's cheek
"Oww! You didn't have to punch me! Pinch yourself if you don't believe it!" J said annoyed.
"We are asking for everyone's cooperation at this time." The PA system added "So please stay where you are…This is a special request from the police troopers."
That surprised everyone as J said "P-Police Troopers? Did they just say the police troopers?"
"D-Do you want me to go check out what's going on?" Johnny asked them.
"Um, wait, I'll come with you…" J said to him.
"Freeze!" A familiar voice called out "You two! Didn't you hear the announcement just now?! It just finished telling you not to move!"
"Th-That voice…I've heard that voice somewhere before…" Jaden said eyes wide.
They are then created by a figure in a cheesy space suit in a bubble glass helmet that made it hard to tell who the helmet was underneath. The figure also had a toy raygun.
The figure said "Honestly, youth these days can't be bothered to listen to other people when they talk!" They then begin to start a long winded complaining ramble that was very familiar for most of the group.
"This non-stop chatter…" Johnny said concerned.
"I-It can't be…Mr. Pines?" Jaden said in shock.
The figure looks at them then removes his helmet revealing he was an old man with glasses and grey hair, indeed it was Stanly Pines, former security guard for Vox Studios confuse the man asked "What is it, you young ones?! Do I know you?!" He then looks at Johnny and glares "…Wait. YOU! You're Bravo, aren't you?!"
"Y-Yeah." Johnny said sweat dropping "Um, about what happened back then…"
"You didn't even get nominated this year, did you?" Stan said with a smirk. "Oh, that's right. You're doing that children's exercise program, trying to play nice."
"Ah, yeah, that's me." Johnny said nodding "Thankfully I still have a job…" Stan then goes on a ramble complementing the show and admiring Johnny's character in it.
"Um…What are you doing here?" J asked Stan cutting off his ramble.
"Look at my uniform and tell me you can't tell I'm a member of security!" Stan tells J.
"But that outfit…" Jaden said surprised.
"Annoying, noisy brats get the blaster!" Stan said annoyed and puts his helmet back on and open fires with his ray gun, of course all it does is make noise of shooting and doesn't actually shoot anything.
"Mr. Pines, what are you doing here?" J asked again. "What happened to your position at Vox Studios…?"
"Oh, that old place?" Stan said removing his helmet "Well, since 'that' incident, they've been letting people go. When they cut the security team, I got the pink slip."
"What incident? What did you do?" Jaden asked.
"I didn't do anything, you young brats!" Stan yells out. "Don't you remember? That incident a year ago…When this guy got on the witness stand and testified."
"Y-Yeah…" J said knowing he was referring to the White Ranger case
"And you!" Stan said pointing at J glaring "Weren't you the one who was bullying me, this one fragile old man?!"
"Um….I please the fifth." J said to that.
Stan calms down and said "But you know, I think maybe I rubbed the upper management the wrong way by testifying…. Yes, that has to be it! Everything is all your fault!" He glares again.
"M-Me?!" J said shocked.
"I thought about being a bodyguard at first, after being handed ol'pinky." Stan said thinking.
"You? A bodyguard?" Jaden asked in disbelief.
"For your friend!" Stan said smiling "That cool blond haired guy in the golden armour and white cape."
"M-Mr. Deamonne?" Jaden asked sadly.
"But…" Stan said
The flashback of Hunter then said to Stan "That sort of arrangement would be entirely too troublesome for me."
"That's what he said to me." Stan said shrugging. The cross added "What did I ever do to deserve that?!" He puts the helmet back on and open fires.
"Um...So, did something happen?" Jaden asked.
Stan removes his helmet and said "I don't have all the details, but, it looks like another one of those 'incidents' happened again."
"A-An 'incident'? Like a 'murder' kind of 'incidnet'?" Johnny asked concerned.
"Maybe. You see, I'm a bit of a devilish man." Stan said grinning "So wherever I go, showers of blood are sure to follow. Bet you didn't know that!"
"Um, then shouldn't you quit being a security guard, at least for other people's sake?" J suggested to him.
"Silenece, drone snapper!" Stan said annoyed and puts the helmet back on and open fires.
Jaden thinks and says smiling "…Hey, J."
"Wh-What is it?" J said and saw the smile "I don't like that devilish smile playing on your lips…"
"Let's make like we're going to the bathroom, and check things out!" Jaden suggested.
"N-No way." J told him "The police troopers told us not to go anywhere, remember?"
"Huh?! How B-O-R-I-N-G!" Jaden complained. "You're sure a boring drone! You've got no motivation! No spirit!"
"Huh? What? What's going on?" Kairi asked confused "Are you giving Master Jaden trouble again, Miss. J?"
'Not you too, Karin…Please don't stick your little nose into this one…' J thinks face screening.
"So listen to this, Kairily." Jaden said smirking "This one time at lawyer camp, J…"
"O-Okay! I get it!" J said sighing "Let's go take a look."
"Yay! I knew you oculdn't say no to me, J!" Jaden said smiling.
"That's right." Kairi said excited. The added looking lovingly "You'd walk over miles of hot coals for Master Jaden, wouldn't you Miss. J?"
'That would be EVERY time we work a case together…' J thinks sweatdropping.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Jaden said smiling "Let's go already! You can come along too, Kairily."
"Goody! I get to come! I get to come!" Kairi cheers happily.
