This was another milestone.

We sent two explorers to Deadlight world.

One of them was Petty Officer First Class Vernon Larson of the United States Navy, who was a Navy SEAL assigned as an explorer for Yerba Buena.

the other was Major Maggie Beckett.

The petty officer was sent to Golden Gate Park in Deadlight world, the "default" location for the coordinates that Dr. Diana Davis had gleaned from our attempt to follow this world's Quinn's path three months ago.

Major Beckett was sent to the same dimension, but a different location- the grounds of the California State Capitol in Sacramento.

We felt tension. Would the major make it back to Yerba Buena at all. Probes did.

But there were no warranties in sliding.

The wormhole opened ninety seconds later, and Beckett emerged back in the embarkation chamber. Half a minute later, Petty Officer Larson emerged.

It was a success. Major Beckett even took a picture of the state Capitol.

Of course, returning here form another dimension's version of Sacramento was far different from returning from another dimensions version of New York.

There was of course one more slide to make.

Our explorers would send letters from both Wade's and Rembrandt's families to them via the U.S. Postal Service of Deadlight World.
