Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 30
Kumo arena; In the genin waiting area: With Naruto, Yuui and Lee
"NNNNGGGHHHH…." "RRRGGHHHRRR" Yuui and Lee grunted as they pulled Naruto's wooden cage along the ground towards the railing; upon reaching a spot where Naruto could see the arena down below they both let go and began huffing.
"Oh…my…god" Yuui said huffing and puffing "I can… bench press two-seventy-five no problem; why's this damn thing so heavy?"; she wiped the sweat off her forehead as Mayui came up and gave her a bottle of water which she took and began to drink.
"It felt like I was moving a mountain" Lee said as he popped his back.
"Man, now I feel bad for asking you to drag me over" Naruto said from behind the bars.
"It's because my wood style absorbs and deflects chakra " Tenzo said from behind them "it also reacts to nearby chakra; in this case you two, so it was repelling itself while you were dragging it".
Yuui and Lee both went wide eyed and looked at him "then why the hell didn't you tell us?" Yuui said her temper flaring.
"Because I find it funny for you to struggle" Tenzo said and Yuui lost it.
"LET ME AT HIM, YOU DICK HEAD" Yuui shouted as she lunged towards him but Mayui, Lee, Hinata and Chojuro stopped her.
"Calm down Yuui" Hinata said "it's nothing to get angry about"; Yuui calmed down and they let her go.
"You're lucky buddy" Yuui said and Tenzo stood there stoic and with a smile behind his anbu mask; Yuui turned away in a huff and looked down towards the fight that was about to begin.
Down in the arena: with Koyoi, Neji and Suzui
Koyoi had his hands in his pink hoodie and was rocking on his heels as he waited for the match to begin; Neji meanwhile was looking at him seriously and with annoyance.
"You might as well quit now; you don't have any chance of defeating me" Neji said and Koyoi looked at him with a smile.
"Sorry sweet cheeks, I'm not a quitter; but you can quit right now…" Koyoi said before bringing his hands to his lips "if you do I'll give you a kiss"; Koyoi blew Neji a kiss and Neji got a tic mark and began to growl.
Suzui looked on at this nervously 'oh boy, this is gonna be one hell of a fight' she thought before she spoke up "alright you two; we're about to begin, get into your fighting positions". Neji activated his Byakugan and got into his clans taijutsu stance and Koyoi in one swift movement took off his pink hoodie and tossed it aside; he wore a pink muscle shirt underneath and his hair was done into a pony tail. But what stood out the most was the dozen or so chakra restraining tags on his arms; the tags went from his wrists to his shoulders and Neji got curious.
Koyoi ripped off the seals from his wrists leaving only ten remaining; Koyoi immediately began to feel his chakra began to go into overdrive and his muscles began to bulge and his veins began to pop.
"I'm ready whenever you are" Koyoi said as he got into his boxing stance and Suzui raised up her hand.
"Alright then, lets the fourth match of the chunin exams… BEGIN" Suzui shouted as she dropped her hands and jumped back; Neji charged towards Koyoi who took up a defensive posture.
Neji launched a gentle fist strike towards Koyoi who blocked that attack and parried it to the side before throwing a jab with his left fist towards Neji's face. Neji moved his head to the side and Koyoi's fist shot past, barely missing his head; Neji seeing an opportunity sent a strike with his index and middle finger towards Koyoi's arm.
His fingers connected with Koyoi's flesh and Koyoi felt the pain shoot up his arm as his chakra point was hit; Neji followed up by launching several quick strikes towards Koyoi's body hitting multiple chakra points. Neji finished his assault by slamming his hand into Koyoi's chest sending him flying backwards.
Neji huffed as he stood up straight "hmph…weakling" Neji said "you should've-"; before he could finish his sentence Koyoi jumped back up seemingly fine and began to wipe dust off himself.
"Hooh boy, that kinda stung; felt like bee stings" Koyoi said as the visible marks on his skin began to fade away "YAY, my chakra's back!"
In the stands: With Hiashi and Hanabi
"Father, how is he back up; that should've knocked him out?" Hanabi asked her father as he looked on wide eyed; Hiashi activated his Byakugan and flinched at what he saw.
"Unbelievable" Hiashi said "his chakra… it's amazing"; Hanabi became confused as she never expected her father to say something like that.
With Naruto, Yuui, Mayui, Hinata and Lee
"How's he back up so soon, when I get hit like that from Neji I'm done?" Lee said wide eyed.
"Yeah, just a few of those hits shuts down my chakra and leave me defenseless" Naruto said equally puzzled.
"That's Koyoi's secret" Mayui said gaining everyone's attention "the reason why he's back up so soon and his chakra points were reactivated is simple… he has too much chakra to simply shut it down".
Upon hearing this everyone went slack jawed and Yuui spoke next "Koyoi is basically the exact opposite of Lee; his chakra system is too advanced, which is why he has to wear those seals". "If he didn't then he'd go into overdrive" Yuui said "it took my daddy and Uncle Bee to calm him down last time; that was four years ago, he's forbidden from taking off more than six seals".
"Really?" Hinata asked and both Yuui and Mayui nodded; Hinata looked back down into the arena "Will Neji be ok?"; the looks on Yuui and Mayui's faces said it all as they both shrugged their shoulders.
"As long as he doesn't take off more than six seals… then yeah" Yuui said.
Back with Koyoi and Neji
"Alright then, time to take it up a notch" Koyoi said as he ripped off two more seals; this time chakra began to radiate around him and lighting began to crackle off him. Neji had to squint as Koyoi's muscled began to bulge again and he began to tremble; to Neji's and most of everyone else's surprise, Koyoi grew a little.
Koyoi instead of being at his normal height of five feet two inches was now at five feet seven inches; Koyoi looked at Neji and in a burst of spleen dashed towards him. Neji was barely able to react when he dodged to the side just as Koyoi's kick missed; Neji was still close to Koyoi and quickly began to spin around in place while expelling chakra from his body.
"Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation" Neji shouted as a dome of spinning chakra formed over him and hit Koyoi; Koyoi was sent flying into the distance from the attack and Neji began to slow down. However this was a mistake as Koyoi landed and aimed his hand at Neji.
Koyoi gathered up lightning chakra into his palm in the form of a orb the size of a softball "Lighting Style: Lighting Ball" he said before launching it towards Neji just as he slowed down from his jutsu. The ball of lighting hit Neji in the chest sending him flying backwards this time before the ball exploded and delivered a powerful shock to his body; Neji screamed as he hit the ground several times before stopping.
Neji quickly got up as Koyoi was closing the distance; Neji got into a defensive stance just as Koyoi launched a kick towards him. Neji raised his arm and blocked the kick and felt his arm shake from the impact.
'His strength is the same as Lee' Neji thought as he knocked away the leg sent two quick gentle fist strikes towards Koyoi; Koyoi raised his arms and blocked the attacks as they bounced off his arms, not even deactivating the chakra points.
Koyoi brought down his arms and began to throw a series of punches at Neji who began to dodge with the assistance of his Byakugan; Koyoi threw two quick jabs at Neji who dodged before throwing a hook at him. Neji raised up his arms to block the hook but ended up getting hit with a uppercut knocking his head up; Koyoi threw the hook as a feint and nailed him with an uppercut knocking Neji into the air.
Neji was lifted off the ground and used this opportunity to send a kick towards Koyoi; Neji ironically hit Koyoi in the exact same way, under the chin. Koyoi spat up blood and Neji landed on shaky legs and spat up blood himself.
"I'm ending this" Neji said as he got into a stance that shocked both Hiashi and Hinata in the stands "Eight Trigrams…two palms"; Neji dashed forward before Koyoi could recover and hit him twice in the body. "Four palms" Neji continued as he hit Koyoi four more times "Eight palms… sixteen palms"; Neji continued assaulting Koyoi knocking him further and further back as his chakra points began to rapidly shit down. "Thirty two palms" Neji said as he unleashed thrifty two strikes in quick succession "Eight Trigrams… Sixty four palms"; the last hit sent Koyoi sailing backward and skidding along the ground.
Neji wiped his bloody lip, but stayed on guard; Koyoi struggled back to his feet and stumbled for a moment.
"That was a good attack" Koyoi said as he slowly reached up and grabbed two more seals "but not good enough"; Koyoi ripped off two more seals and immediately a wave of chakra was unleashed kicking up dust and blinding the whole arena.
Neji and everyone else covered their eyes as dust and debris began to fly around all over the place 'what is this?' Neji thought.
With Naruto, Yuui and the others
"HOLY SHIT!" Naruto shouted as he and the others tried to block the dust from their faces.
"And… now we see Koyoi at half power" Yuui said in a strained but calm voice.
"He's such a show off" Mayui said; a few seconds later it died down and everyone looked down towards the arena. Upon seeing what happened Naruto and everyone else went wide eyed at what they saw.
Back in the arena: With Koyoi and Neji
Neji moved his hands down and looked at Koyoi and he immediately went wide eyed "you've got to be kidding me" he said.
Koyoi grew from his previous height to a staggering six feet tall; his long blonde hair floated behind himself as it crackled with lightning, his eyes were now completely white and his muscles were nearly on the same level as A.
Koyoi looked towards Neji with a dark smirk and spoke "you impressed?" Koyoi said no longer having his high pitch almost feminine tone but a deep baritone voice.
In the stands: With Anko, Kurenai and the others sensei
"Oh yeah, mama likes" Anko said with hearts in her eyes "he went from a little squirt to Mr.Olympia and I'm all for it".
Kurenai looked towards her with a look of shock "ANKO, he's eighteen years old!" Kurenai scolded and Anko looked at her with a smile.
"So…he's legal" Anko said before looking back down at the arena "good to know"; Kurenai slapped her forehead at this.
In the Kage box: With Hiruzen, A, Uzui, Mei and Zabuza
"Ooohhh, I never expected to see some eye candy today" Mei said as she looked down at Koyoi nearly drooling "those muscles, that hair… where've you been hiding this hunk Lord Raikage?"
"Oh for the love of Kami" A groaned as he rubbed his temples "I gotta deal with this crap again".
"I'm always caught off guard when he does this; I'm so used to seeing him in his smaller form" Uzui said with a chuckle.
"This is surprising" Hiruzen said impressed 'taking off those seals not only unleashes his chakra but also changes his form… much like the eight gates'; Hiruzen looked closer and tried to gauge the power. 'If I was to give and estimate; I'd say he's on par as to someone who opened up the first three gates' Hiruzen thought.
Zabuza meanwhile was looking at his arms and chest 'I need to work out more' he thought.
Back down in the arena: With Koyoi and Neji
Koyoi's smirk vanished and he widened his stance as he got ready to attack Neji; Neji got into a deeper defensive stance and spoke up.
"You think that scares me?" Neji said "you're sorely mistaken"; Koyoi didn't say anything and Neji could see with his Byakugan that he was gathering chakra in his feet.
Koyoi launched himself forward as fast as he could closing the distance before Neji could even blink; Koyoi cocked back his fist and drove it into Neji's stomach so hard that the force of the hit caused a bulge in his back.
Neji vomited blood as he fell to the ground holding his stomach showing that he had at best broken bones and internal bleeding; Koyoi stood over him and Suzui came back down and landed next to Koyoi and the wounded Neji.
"Neji Hyuga is unable to continue; winner is Koyoi" Suzui announced and a cheer went through the arena; Koyoi smiled and looked down at Neji.
"Good fight cutie, maybe we can have a rematch later" Koyoi said and Neji looked up to him with a glare.
"This isn't over" Neji said and Koyoi chuckled as he walked over to his discarded hoodie and picked it up.
"You're right about that" Koyoi said as he made a hand sign and vanished.
With Naruto and the others
Koyoi landed back inside the genin waiting area and smiled at Naruto, Yuui and Mayui "looks like our team is two for three" he said.
"Holy crap Koyoi; I had no idea you could do that" Naruto said from inside his cage "we have to spar later on; me using my cloak and you using your super jacked form".
"Same here" Lee announced raising his hand up "your physical form is quite amazing; I wish to test my Eight Gates against it, it'll be a legendary match". Koyoi smiled and nodded.
"Sounds like a plan boys" Koyoi said before extending both of his arms "girls…do you mind?"; Yuui and Mayui walked up and pulled out three seals each from their pouches and placed them onto Koyoi. Koyoi groaned as the seals activated and his chakra began to dissipate; after about a minute his muscles and his height began to revert until he was back to his normal size.
Suddenly Koyoi collapsed onto the ground and began to groan "Koyoi; are you ok?" Naruto asked concerned and Koyoi looked to him.
"Yeah, I'm fine… my body just needs to readjust" Koyoi said "the down side of unleashing my chakra is that it takes time for my body to recover from the large output; give me like ten minutes". Koyoi moved his head to the side and looked at Hinata from the ground "what'd you think Hinata, enjoy the show?" Koyoi said with a wink and Hinata blushed before looking away.
"T-Thanks for not harming Neji… too much" Hinata said as she began to poke her fingers together.
"Geez Koyoi, hitting on a pair of cousins?" Mayui said"that's kinda messed up"; Koyoi looked at her and stuck his tongue out.
"Yeah Koyoi, me and Hinata went out on a date; not cool dude" Naruto said and Koyoi looked sheepish.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm just naturally flirty" Koyoi said as he sat up put on his jacket with several groans of soreness "oh man… I'm going to feel this tomorrow".
"Well good job anyway Koyoi" Yuui said giving him a thumbs up "and at least your match lasted more than two minutes; now things'll probably ramp up now".
In the Kage box
"About damn time an actual fight took place; I was getting bored" A said as he looked to his guests "that Hyuga boy sure got the shit end of the stick in this match". Hiruzen nodded at this and spoke.
"The Hyuga's main fighting style is to shut down the chakra network and damage organs with their gentle fist" Hiruzen said smoking his pipe "looks like we saw that major flaw in that philosophy; what happens if you can't shut down the system". 'Any other opponent may have had a chance; Naruto, Sasuke, Lee or Choji would've made this match more even' Hiruzen thought 'strategy and tactics may be good, but sometimes all you have to rely on is strength alone'.
"Alright then people; time to announce the next set of fighters" A spoke into a microphone breaking Hiruzen from his thoughts as the board lit up and began to go through names once more.
1 hour later
Naruto was nodding off inside his cage as more and more matches went by; so far the matches haven't been anything too exciting as six matches have happened so far.
Shino, Shikamaru, Choji, Sai and Misumi won their matches against five random jobbers that Naruto couldn't even remember; three of them were from Kumo and two were from Konoha. The most recent match was Oboro vs a Iwa genin in which Oboro won using his mud clones to trap and beat him.
As of right now the board was once more going through the names off all of the remaining genin; Naruto meanwhile was still sitting inside the wooden cage made my Tenzo.
"Ughhhh… I'm so damn bored" Naruto groaned as he slammed his head on the wooden bars of his cage "please… for the love of Kami… let me be next". Naruto looked at the electronic board just as the names stopped and A announced the next two fighters.
"Mayui vs Hinata Hyuga" A announced over the speakers.
"Crap" Naruto groaned as he began to shake the bars.
"Oh yeah, my time to shine" Mayui said with a fist pump as she went over to the rails and turned around "wish me luck"; Mayui did a back flip over the rails and landed in the arena below.
"Good luck Hinata; I'll be rooting for you" Naruto cheered from inside his cage; Hinata looked at him and gave him a small smile and a nod.
"I-I'll try my best" Hinata said as she jumped to the arena below.
In the arena with Hinata, Mayui and Suzui
Hinata landed on the ground and stood in front of Mayui who was giving her a wide smile "may the best girl win" Mayui said as she extended her hand; Hinata smiled and nodded.
"I wish you luck" Hinata said as both girls shook hands.
In the stands: With Hiashi and Hanabi
Hiashi looked on impassively at his daughter down below; felt a simmering hatred boiling inside his heart as he saw this. His malice towards Kumo was building up inside him; the pain of his brother dying for him as his replacement was an ever present thought inside his mind.
If it wasn't for the cowardice of the Hokage, they Hyuga elders and nearly everyone else in Konoha, Hizashi would still be alive; in his eyes the excuse of not wanting to reignite the war was a flimsy excuse.
Now the best revenge he could get was his daughter and nephew in the exams; to prove the Hyuga's might by defeating the Kumo genin in their own village. Neji however lost his match to a Kumo ninja and brought some dishonor to the clan; now he could only hope Hinata could bring some of it back, although his hopes were not high.
"Pay close attention Hanabi" Hiashi said to his youngest daughter beside him "this is not only a battle between genin and villages; it is now a battle of our clans pride".
Hanabi said nothing as she looked at her father before looking down in the arena at Hinata 'good luck elder sister' Hanabi thought as she clasped her hands.
Back in the arena
"Alright you two get ready" Suzui said and both Hinata and Mayui took a step back; Hinata got into her taijutsu stance and activated her Byakugan and Mayui got into her fighting stance. "Alright then; next match, Hinata Hyuga vs Mayui" Suzui announced as she raised her hand into the air "Get ready". Suzui let a pause happen before she brought down her hand "BEGIN" Suzui shouted as she jumped away and the fight began.
Ok another chapter done; I hope you all enjoyed it. So yeah Koyoi's power is revealed, I kinda based him off of Brody from the Original DBZ Movie; he can go from scrawny girly boy to Hercules by removing his tags, I just thought it'd be kinda cool idea.
