This is more just a filler chapter so I'll try and get the next one uploaded soon but life seems to really hate me right now and everything is going wrong.

Maura started her week feeling deflated. It was back to the silence of the morgue, the only conversations would be about work and even those ones would be as quick as possible so people didn't have to spend much time in her presence. The silence felt deafening after a week with Luna in the office. The doctor was very surprised when the door to the lab opened and Jane Rizzoli walked in carrying two coffee cups.

"Thought you'd like a coffee." The detective smiled and held a cup out.

"Thank you." Maura pulled off her gloves and accepted the hot beverage. A coffee with Jane Rizzoli was the last thing she expected today.

"It's quiet down here." Jane glanced around as she realised just how quiet it was. "Nothing like upstairs."

"I don't get many visitors," Maura admitted and took a sip of her coffee. "Did you need something for your case?"

"No, just thought you'd like a coffee." Jane smiled and took a sip of her own coffee before the ding of the phone echoed throughout the lab. She pulled it off her belt with a sigh. "I have to go, I'll see you later, Maura."

The rest of the week was the same. Jane would suddenly appear a few times throughout the day, usually with a coffee in hand and once some lunch. They sat in Maura's office and ate the sandwiches before Jane was called back upstairs. The morgue suddenly didn't feel so lonely anymore and the silence was easier to accept knowing that at any time Jane would appear again. Maura even decided to venture up into the bullpen one day with the lab results that Jane and her team were waiting on. Jane had made the effort to go and see her so it was only fair that Maura took the trip up. Heads turned as the ME walked into the offices and she suddenly felt very self-conscious, she never ventured up here. Her grip tightened on the folder she was holding as she made her way towards Jane's desk.

"Jane, I have the lab results you were waiting on." Maura held out the folder to the curly haired detective who was frowning at her computer and what looked like randomly pressing buttons. However as Jane turned and caught sight of the blonde her face lit up and she smiled, the sight was enough to send a warmth all throughout the blonde's body.

"Thanks, Maura. You didn't need to bring it up, I could have come and gotten it." Jane opened the folder and began to read the paper inside.

"Hey, Dr. Isles," Korsak called cheerfully as he entered the room. "We don't often see you up here. You've brought a bit of class to us." He sat down at his own desk and leaned back.

"We've got him," Jane announced suddenly and stood from her desk as she held the folder out to Korsak to read. "Frost, let's go." Jane grabbed her jacket from her chair and shrugged it on as Frost did the same. "Thanks, Maura." Jane grasped the doctor's elbow before the two detectives headed toward the elevator. The unease that Maura had felt was worth it to see Jane happy to see her.

Friday morning was a surprise for Maura as she heard voices floating down the hallway to the lab and Jane pushed open the door and peeked inside. "Hey, I need a favour."

"Why can't I see?" a voice called from Jane's side and Maura instantly recognised the mini Rizzoli's voice.

"Because there's a dead body in here." Jane looked down at her daughter who was still out of sight. "My mother had to go to the dentist this morning, can my trouble maker hang in your office until she's back?"

"Of course." Maura smiled widely. "Give me a few minutes and I'll meet you there."

"Hey, Maura!" was the greeting the doctor received as she entered her office a few minutes later. Luna was sitting on Maura's chair spinning herself around in a circle.

"Last time I need to ask you this, I promise. She's back to school on Monday. Ma will be here at lunch time." Jane had her hands resting on her belt as she looked at the doctor.

"Of course, it's no problem having Luna here."

"See." Luna called as she began to spin herself the other way.

"Don't make yourself dizzy," Jane warned before she turned to leave the office, her phone buzzing at her hip as she did. Luna grabbed hold of the desk to stop herself spinning before she smiled up at Maura.

"It's been quiet without you this week," Maura spoke fondly.

"Do you have much work to do this morning?"

"Yes, I have a bit. I need to finish in the lab and then I'll be back in, okay?"

"Cool." Luna nodded and reached for her bag to pull a book out.

The morning was over before Maura knew it and the elevator doors opened to reveal Jane and an older woman who could only be her mother. She couldn't help the sadness that washed over her knowing the afternoon would be quiet. How had Jane and Luna managed to creep into her life so quickly and with such affection?

"Hey, Maura, thanks for having Luna again."

"Hey, Lun bug, ready to go?" Angela called to her granddaughter. "Uncle Tommy's going to meet us for lunch."

"Ma this is Dr. Maura Isles, Maura this is my mother, Angela," Jane introduced the two women.

"Thanks for looking after Luna this morning." Angela smiled warmly at the blonde. "Nice office," she commented as she looked around.

"Bye, Maura." Luna wrapped her arms around Maura's waist as a goodbye and slung her bag over her shoulder as she headed towards her grandmother.

"Let me take these two up and then you free for lunch?" Jane asked as Angela and Luna headed towards the elevator.

"Sure." Maura nodded. "I'll meet you upstairs in a minute."

"Great."
