Chapter 5 Clothe Chess

On the side of the pool, Poolcheck and Mermando had the chocolate bar sitting on a paper towel and were inspecting it. It was indeed a candy bar that no one had taken a bite out of, which could only mean two things, either someone accidentally dropped the food into the pool or someone had deliberately dropped it or thrown it into the pool to cause some chaos. Poolcheck decided it was the second option. First it was all the incidents of people losing their clothes in the pool now someone was pulling pranks. It would only be a matter of time before fouler deeds and pranks followed.
"Mermando this is a sign of things to come. A great darkness has descended upon our pool and we must find the person or persons responsible for these crimes." Said Poolcheck with a serious tone.
"Yes sir." Said Mermando giving a salute.
The two of them separated and walked around the pool looking for shifty individuals or unusual activity.
Wendy meanwhile was keeping an eye on Dipper. She was curious about the boy who wore more then one swimsuit and had been both very surprised and confused about him throwing the candy bar into the pool. Then she saw all the people react to it believing the piece of food was poo and they all quickly flee the pool. Wendy didn't leave the pool because she didn't want to reveal her mermaid identity, but she realized Dipper had done this to try and get her to leave the pool. A clever trick. Wendy was impressed and saw the boy as a new challenge for herself. She was going to remove his swimsuit, but she had to be a little more crafty about it.
Dipper kept his eyes on the red haired girl as he went over to Ford and Stan and told him what he had figured out and done so far.
"You caused a panic to try and get that girl you believe to be responsible for all the swimsuit incidents out of the pool?" Asked Ford in shock.
"Nice move with the candy bar." Said Stan in approval.
"Stan we shouldn't encourage that kind of behavior!" Said Ford.
"Oh please it was a prank and the boy was using it to collect info on that girl. Got to say she's quite the looker and does look like someone that could be causing trouble." Said Stan glancing over at Wendy.
"Do you know her?" Asked Dipper.
"Nope. Never seen her before." Said Stan.
"Neither have I." Said Ford.
"Well she's definitely up to something." Said Dipper.
"You go get her champ. Go expose her." Said Stan.
"But try no to cause anymore chaos." Said Ford.
"I'll try my best." Said Dipper before walking off.
"So you think there's something up with that girl?" Asked Stan.
"Possibly. Will let Dipper handle it, it'll be a good experience for him." Said Ford.
Mabel meanwhile was fuming over her failed attempts to get with Mermando and was trying to figure out a way to keep Poolcheck distracted and not have Mermando do any of his pool duties.
Poolcheck was at the snack bar interrogating the teen boy that worked there.
"Alright pal tell me who you sold candy bars to in the past ten minutes." Demanded Poolcheck getting into the poor teen's face.
"I don't know man, there's been a lot of customers, I probably sold a dozen candy bars already." Said the teen worker.
"Show me your security cameras!" Demanded Poolcheck.
"We don't have security cameras for the snack bar." Said the teen worker.
"Oh is that it huh? You covering for your friends as they cause more chaos!" Yelled Poolcheck.
"Dude I'm not covering anyone! Chill out!" Said the teen worker.
"Yo buddy you going to buy something or what?" Complained a man standing in line behind Poolcheck.
Poolcheck turned to yell at the man, but realized that there was a fair number of people in line looking fairly annoyed at him and decided that the snack bar was a dead lead and went searching elsewhere.
Wendy meanwhile had snuck away from her float and targeted another teen and stole his trunks. It took a minute for the unlucky teen to notice that his trunks were gone and he panicked a little bit covering himself. He called out to his friends sitting by his bag and quickly called one of them over and quietly told him to get him some spare swim trunks from the bag. The friend did so and the guy, quickly put them before anyone could notice him. Wendy then put the next part of her plan into action.
"Hey I couldn't help but notice something was up. What happened?" Said Wendy in a sweet voice and she batted her eyes at the teen.
"I was just minding my business, when my trunks just went missing." Said the teen.
"Really? That's strange." Said Wendy.
"Yeah." Agreed the teen.
"You know I've seen someone acting suspicious." Said Wendy.
"Really? Who?" Asked the teen.
Wendy pointed at Dipper, who just happened to not be looking at something else.
"I saw that kid with something odd in his hands a little while ago. It looked like a swimsuit." Said Wendy.
"Oh really. Thanks for that, I'm going to get a little payback on him." Said the teen as he got out of the pool and headed towards Dipper.
The teen got to behind Dipper and yanked his trunks down expecting to show the kid's butt and manhood to the pool, but instead of seeing any form of nudity, there was another pair of trunks.
"What the?!" Yelled the teen.
"What are you doing?!" Yelled Dipper in alarm.
"Why is that guy pulling down a kid's swim trunks?" Asked a woman.
"And why does that kid have more then one swimsuit on?" Asked a man.
"That guy pulling the kid's pants must be some kind of sick freak." Said another woman.
"I'm not a freak! This guy took my swim trunks!" Yelled the teen.
"But you're wearing swim trunks." Pointed out an old man.
"Not these trunks, the ones I had on in the pool that got stolen!" Yelled the teen.
"So you we're naked in the pool?" Asked one woman.
"Yes, but...that was because they were stolen by this guy." Said the teen as he took the trunks he had pulled down from Dipper.
"So the guy who wasn't in the pool, magical stole your trunks, while you were in the pool?" Asked Poolcheck as he arrived on the scene.
"Um...ok...I'm really not sure how he did." Admitted the teen.
"Well you can figure that out in pool jail." Said Poolcheck as he grabbed the teen and dragged him away.
"That still doesn't explain why that kid is wearing more then one swimsuit." Muttered a woman casting a look at Dipper before the little crowd broke up.
Dipper glanced over to where Wendy was at and she gave him a little wave. He knew the girl was responsible for the guy pulling down one of his swim trunks. Now Dipper was even more determined to find out what the girl was hiding under the float.
Elsewhere Mabel saw Poolcheck was distracting with putting the teen in the makeshift pool jail which was just a large empty storage shed. Mabel asked a teen girl what happened and she told Mabel that there had been a commotion with the teen and some kid about a stolen swim trunks. This gave Mabel an idea that she could keep Poolcheck distracted by causing a bit of chaos and try spreading rumors about incidents and troublemakers around the pool.
Meanwhile Dipper was trying to figure out how to get rid of Wendy's floaty, when he came across the pool store that sold various items for pool fun. His eyes landed on some tiny remote control boats and that gave him an idea. Dipper purchased a little boat and then he grabbed both a plastic fork and knife from the snack bar. He broke the tip off of both the knife and the fork and managed to attach them to the front of the boat. Dipper carefully placed the boat into the pool and he took the remote to pilot the boat. He maneuvered the boat around the people and headed right towards Wendy's float to pop and deflate it. The little boat got closer and closer to the float and it looked like it was going to succeed in hitting it's mark, but Wendy saw it coming and used her mermaid magic to create a wave that picked up the little boat and tossed it through the air. The boat flew and struck the inner tube of a fat guy. The sharp instruments struck the tube and the tube along with it's unlucky occupant began to fly around the pool striking people and causing chaos!
The fat guy screamed as he flew around battering other pool goers and in the process Wendy snatched some swim trunks of a few people and the tops of a few girls causing more chaos. The tube then crashed into one of the walls and the fat guy landed on top of a teen girl sunbathing. The fat guy pushed himself off the girl and accidentally took the girl's top off exposing her breasts making the girl scream and slap the poor guy.
"To pool jail with you!" Yelled Poolcheck as he dragged the fat guy away.
Dipper was horrified by what just happened and then the toy boat suddenly fell out of the air and the pointy in tore through his waistband causing his trunks to come down.
"Success!" Thought Wendy, but there was another swimsuit under the ones that fell off.
Dipper looked down and sighed in relief that he still had trunks on.
"Come on!" Muttered Wendy under her breath.
As that chaos ended Mabel spread a rumor that the guy who stole a swimsuit was responsible for the fat guy on the runaway tube not knowing that there was a person responsible for that chaos and it was Dipper. Mabel managed to spen a bit of time with Mermando and they talked about the recent chaos that happened and who could have been responsible. She shared some stuff about herself and Mermando shared some stuff about himself. Some people began to shoot brief glares at Dipper, who was unaware of this as he tried to think up a new plan to get at Wendy's floaty.
Dipper's next plan was a bit more simpler. He got a cup full of ice from the snack bar. Dipper's new plan was to casually walk over to where Wendy was and dump the ice either on her or close to her and the cold would force her up and out of the water. He carefully walked over making it look like he was minding his own business as he reached the area where Wendy was and then he dumped the ice in the water besides her. Now if Wendy was a human she would have jumped up from the cold, but she was a mermaid and her race were very going at adapting to temperatures and environmental changes. Wendy had swam in the waters around the Noth and South Pole, so a little ice water wasn't going to bother her.
It did get her attention and she looked over at Dipper who was walking away with a look of confusion on his face. The mermaid quickly realized she had made a bit of a mistake by not reacting to the cold water, which made the boy more suspicious of her. Dipper got another cup of ice and attempted to dump it on Wendy, but she was ready for him. Wendy had splashed some water on the ground where Dipper was going to walk and she used her mermaid magic to make it icy and slippery. As soon as Dipper stepped on the ice he slipped and splashed his ice on a group of girls, who screamed in surprise. Dipper got up to apologize and he was close to the edge of the pool allowing Wendy to pull his trunks down only to reveal some more trunks underneath.
"How many trunks do you have on?" Asked Wendy to herself.
Dipper saw he lost some more trunks and got annoyed by this and his lack of success. He decided to try the straight forward approach and dove into the pool and went under to get a look at Wendy's lower half. Dipper saw the floaty, but no sign of Wendy. Then he felt a presence behind him as something pulled off another pair of trunks and then something slammed into him from below and he was knocked out of the water and to another area of the pool splashing some people in the process. Wendy appeared back by her float and watched Dipper swim to the edge of the pool to climb out to see he had another pair of shorts on.
"Darn it!" Thought Wendy.
Dipper felt himself get annoyed as he tried to think of a new plan. He headed over to the snack bar and thought about his next move. Robbie was also at the snack bar and took notice of the kid and had witnessed his previous odd behavior.
"Sup loser, what's your deal?" Asked Robbie.
Dipper looked at the teen in annoyance and then he decided to share what he knew.
"There's been some strange stuff going on in the pool with people losing their clothes. I think I know whose responsible, but they're hiding something about themselves and I've been trying to expose them with no real luck." Said Dipper.
"Who are you trying to expose?" Asked Robbie.
"That girl with red hair by the float. Every time she goes under the water someone's clothes goes missing. I don't know how she moves around so fast, but she's hiding something about herself under her float." Said Dipper.
"Well that girl has a nice rack. Let me see if I can get her to show more of herself." Said Robbie before walking over to Wendy.
"Sup." Said Wendy as Robbie stopped by her.
"Hey girl you want to have a chicken fight?" Asked Robbie.
"Nah. I'm cool." Said Wendy.
Robbie just shrugged his shoulders and went back to Dipper.
"Didn't work, but I have another way to get her out of the pool. Follow me." Said Robbie.
Dipper followed Robbie to a little building that looked like it was housed for machinery. There was a door with a keypad and Robbie typed in a code and the door opened. Inside there was a large machine with pipes.
"What is all this?" Asked Dipper eyeballing the machine.
"This here machine controls the pool. I can drain it or fill it up. I used to work here, so I know how it works. Also know the code to the door since my old boss never bothered to change it." Said Robbie.
"So you're going to drain the pool?" Asked Dipper.
"Yep. Don't worry about the people there's a voice recording to tell them to leave the pool that comes over the loudspeakers. You're girl will surly get out." Said Robbie.
"Is this safe?" Asked Dipper.
"Safeish." Said Robbie as he began to push a few buttons on the machine.
"Attention everyone the pool is about to drain. Please leave the pool at once." Said a automatic voice.
The people left the pool all except Mabel who was showing off her swimming skills to Mermando and Wendy who refused to leave the pool and expose her mermaid nature. A drain opened up in the bottom of the pool and began to strongly suck down the water. Mabel and Wendy both screamed in surprise as they felt the powerful suction pull on them.
"Help!" Cried Mabel as she tried to swim away from the suction and get out of the pool.
Mermando came to her rescue and threw her a life preserver with a rope that Mabel caught. The little lifeguard began to pull Mabel in, when there was a loud ripping sound, but it wasn't the rope on the life preserver it was Mabel's swimsuit getting ripped off by the suction! Mabel's face turned bright red in embarrassment as she was pulled out of the pool naked for all to see. Mermando quickly grabbed Mabel a towel to cover up.
Dipper who had gone outside to see the show gasped in horror at the sight of Wendy getting pulled down towards the suction. He may have been investigating her, but he didn't want her to get hurt. Dipper grabbed another life preserver with a rope and dove into the water after Wendy getting pulled down as he sped towards Wendy. Under the water Dipper could see Wendy's lower half and was startled to see she was a mermaid. Wendy swam with all her might, but she couldn't escape the suction. Dipper headed her way and a look of surprise appeared on Wendy's face as Dipper grabbed him and they both abruptly stopped thanks to the rope. Dipper held onto Wendy as he began to run out of breath and then Wendy kissed him right on the mouth and he could suddenly breath underwater.
"What the?!" Cried Dipper in surprise.
"I used my mermaid magic to let you breath underwater! I can't believe you just jumped in to rescue me!" Said Wendy over the roar of the suction.
"Well I couldn't just let you get sucked down the drain!" Said Dipper.
The rope on the life preserver began to tear a bit freaking both Dipper and Wendy out.
"What do we do?!" Asked Wendy.
"We need to clog that drain up!" Said Dipper.
Wendy watched in amazement as Dipper began to remove trunk after trunks and they got sucked into the drain. Dipper removed several pair of trunks, until he was just left with nothing, but a loincloth and he removed that too. The drain was mostly clogged, but still going. Dipper was out of clothes, but Wendy had her top. Wendy quickly removed her top exposing her large breasts to Dipper. The bikini top was sucked into the drain and the suction finally stopped. Both Wendy and Dipper let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm Dipper by the way." Said Dipper trying to not look at Wendy's breasts.
"I'm Wendy. Thanks for coming to my rescue. I appreciate it." Said Wendy.
"How long have you been struck in the pool?" Asked Dipper.
"A few days. Been keeping myself entertained by stealing people's clothes." Said Wendy.
"And I guess a guy who wears multiple swim trunks would be extra fun." Said Dipper.
"You were, so why so many?" Said Wendy.
"Some previous bad experiences." Said Dipper.
"I see." Said Wendy.
"So I guess we better resurface." Said Dipper.
"I guess we do, don't worry I have some spare swim ware stashed around for us to wear." Said Wendy.
"Thanks you want me to see about getting you out of this pool?" Said Dipper.
"I would appreciate that." Said Wendy win smile.
"I'll do my best." Said Dipper.
Wendy went over to an old pool filter and produced some swim trunks for Dipper and strapped another bikini top to herself. The two resurfaced and Wendy found her floaty to hide her tail as Dipper got out of the pool to rejoin his family.
Poolcheck had found out Robbie was the one responsible for the pool draining and had thrown the teen into the pool jail and then he filled the pool back up.
The rest of the day went on as Dipper filled Stan, Ford, and Mabel on his discovery and they began to make plans to help Wendy out of the pool. Dipper said goodbye to Wendy promising that he would return to help get her out of the pool and Wendy kissed him on the lips in appreciation. The Pines family headed back to the Mystery Shack to make plans to help Wendy out.
