He grips his tool ever so tightly. He glances at his opponent, glaring as he watches her swiftly, and smoothly moving her tool on the surface.

She looks so happy... so confident...

No.This time... THIS time, HE will emerge victorious.

His phone rings, meaning time was up and they both drop their tools.

At the same time, they reveal to each other...

"No!" Nathaniel cries in frustration. Even if his Kwami was shorter and smaller than the paper, she still manages to draw/paint amazing works of art.

Like her painting of Ninja Chat Noir in the style of Vox Machina (2022).

Way better than his painting of anime Robin Hood Chat Noir.

"Cheer up, Nath." Ziggy levitates closer to her Holder, "I just have thousand years of experiencing and witnessing various forms of art developing"

"Lucky you." Nathaniel continues to groan.

For his and Marc's next comic book, they wanted to make it a LadyNoir AU. They listed a bunch of ideas and divided those ideas between themselves. Whatever idea was given to them, they make a story. The best idea with the best story plot becomes the new comic.

Normally Marc was the best in writing the story plots. Nathan, unarguably, couldn't reach his level of writing, but he has his own way of creating stories.

One way to write a story? Art-Off.

And so far, he's been losing to a thousand-year old being smaller than him.

Still... Kwami's got skills in art.

Her Robin Hood Chat painting looks so alive. Once he touches the paper, it feels like he was actually touching the warm rays of the sun shining on Robin Chat's gallant form.

And her Mer-Heroes painting...! You could almost feel the cool water-colored waves splashing out of the paper!

If only his drawing where THAT life-like...!

Now's the time to pick which AU to base the next comic on by choosing the best artwork which conveys the best story.

Mer-Heroes... Ninjas... Robin Hood... or Fairy AU...

Mermaids... beautiful creatures of the deep...

Just because they live in water and have tails for their bottom-half doesn't mean they're weak and useless on land!

Some have the power to turn their tails into legs with feet at will.

Both Holder and Kwami used watercolors for their Mer-Heroes. They really want to give the impression that whoever was looking at the painting would feel as if they were really swimming with the mermaids inside the painting.

He puts down the two paintings and picks up the two papers which both have his two leaders depicted as Ninjas.

Both works were done using pastels and dark colors.

Even if the world turns dark, the hope inside will never fade away. Always shining bright for all...

The Robin Hood paintings were... the, least expressive works they made. While both artists painted their characters in fighting stances to give the impressions that they were about to leap out of the paper, their finished works seem... boring and predictable, compared to the others.

The last pair of paintings: The Fairies.

Such delicate mesmerizing creatures...

Who could turn you into plant fertilizer if you continue to underestimate them.

Insect wings that glimmer with jewel-like colors...

That could slice your fingers off if you're not cautious enough...

Protectors of nature... Defending all life from those filled with ignorance and greed...

And for every evil they vanquish, a part of nature grows into something more beautiful...

Oh. That would look epic in a comic book...!

He finally makes up his mind: His next comic will be in-

"Nathan! The new episode of Star-Years is starting!"

-?!

He almost forgot!

The recently popular Sci-Fi anime show about anthropomorphic zodiac guardians protecting the pure wishes of people was recently Nathan's favourite anime show. And there was absolutely NO WAY was he going to miss a single episode!

He quickly grabs his and Ziggy's favorite anime-viewing snacks, 2 spicy carbonara cup noodles and 2 sodas, and quickly returns to his room, sitting on his bed with his Kwami partner by his side. The little goat had already turned on the TV. The opening theme song was playing, signifying the start of the episode of the week.

30 minutes later...

The week's adventure... was EPIC...!

The epic fight... the powers... the way the animators made them shimmer like crystals...!

The heartwarming drama...! The way they showed the strong bond of the main characters through teamwork...!

If only he could make a comic like that...

...

Why, not...?

It's not in his list... Plus he and Ziggy spent almost the whole afternoon painting his ideas...

He turns to his Kwami, "Hey Ziggy? We had fun-"

"We, HAVE GOT, to make a Sci-Fi comic." Ziggy interrupts him with wide excited eyes, "PRONTO."

Great minds think alike. Plus who is he to ignore those cute VERY BIG,WIDE, Kwami eyes?

Only one problem:

What'll Marc think of this?
