Good news everyone – I'm not dead!
All jests aside, sorry about the extended break, I kind of forgot about this story. Whoops. I intended to write more but then my health deteriorated, don't worry I'm doing a lot better now. I was recently reminded of this story by the Railgun S4 announcement – I felt so bad leaving you all hanging for so long.
Giving a brief update on both my life and my writing for this. First of all, I am now nearly 3 years deep into a Japanese uni course. It's given me a lot of information on Japanese culture and how people generally act there. I've also been living there for a little over 6 months, so I've gained some hands-on experience with it. Hopefully it'll improve my character writing.
Now, as for writing, I decided to read what I wrote a long time ago, and my conclusion is that it's got some really solid stuff in there… mixed in with some cringe. My writing has improved over the last few years doing personal stuff, and it will hopefully show. So, the nitty gritty of it is this: I am going to rewrite the story from the start, putting extra effort into pacing and coherency, whilst keeping the focus on the characters. The concept, characters, plot and tone will still be (mostly) the same, just improved. I'm also going to be planning this a lot better. I intend to write a whole bunch of chapters before I publish anything so I can properly pace and write around the story better, so there will be a fairly long wait before the first rewrite is released. Additionally, when I release the first rewrite, I will condense all the previous chapters into chapter 1 and label it as the original draft.
TLDR, I'm back, I'm writing again, I'm rewriting it all, there will be a decent wait for chapter 1.
