Skylark always hated the deserts, not because they were barren with nothing to look at. No, it was the heat that always got to her, and now that she was in the outback heading to a secret highly secured prison, one holding Tidal the sister of the Quartet.
"You okay?" Shimmer asked
"Just the heat getting to me" Skylark said
"Indeed" Shimmer said "Do you think they'll come here?"
"I'm not sure" Skylark said before they felt the aircraft start to descend. "We're landing" she frowned as she buckled up; but she also felt dread in her system about what was going to happen. The Kangaroo Island facility had been broken into and Tornadus was released. Tidal was the next one on the list and they were making sure she wasn't getting out. Once she had landed and they walked out to see Starlet waiting for them. The head of the Skybound agency got out and nodded. "Everything okay?"
"Yes ma'am Tidal is secured, we're having a unit of Burrunjor suits being delivered as well" Starlet informed her.
"Okay" Skylark nodded as they reached the elevator to go down. "I hope they're preparing the Hooligans for a fight as well"
"So we're getting some new blood?" King Brown asked as he and Captain Lightningbolt were walked to a training centre
"Given what happened with Infernocus and Tornadus" he groaned
"So who are they?" King Brown asked
"I'm not sure, the brass hasn't told me"
"Hey, we getting some rooks?" Feedback asked
"We are, tell me does America know about the Quartet getting loose?"
"Nope, at least not yet, seems they're going for their siblings first, but Ena is up to something involving them" Feedback replied
"Okay" Captain Lightningbolt said as they reached the training centre, the rest of the team was there. "So who do we have?" he asked as he joined the others in an observation room, with Wallaby standing there, a tablet with profiles of the three new members.
"You're going to like this" Wallaby said "First up is Sarah Hindmarsh aka Lady Shadows, formerly worked in intelligence until she was caught manipulating the stock market. Her quirk is perfect for this kind of thing being called Shadow Waltz, meaning she can blend into the shadows"
"Impressive" Captain Lightning-bolt said
"Isn't that similar to knight?" Boomerang asked
"No, Sarah can merge with the shadows while Knight's quirk make it so he makes no noise when he walks in one" Wallaby said
"Ah" Boomerang said
"Next is Gene Stone, he's quirk is called bio-armour: it grants him a organic type of armour" Wallaby said as the man was covering in a type of slime before sections of it harden to be a stone like substance.
"Nice, what's his hero name?" Cruncher asked
"He doesn't have one" Wallaby said
"We'll give him one" Feedback said "And the last guy?"
"Say hello to Connor Bowen aka Conflict" Wallaby said
"You found him?" Sharkfang asked
"We did, as you own his quirk is Rage On, the angrier he gets the stronger he becomes and the more his temperature rises" Wallaby explained
"Well shit!" Captain Lightningbolt smiled before wallaby went over to a loud speaker.
"Good morning recruits, I am Cate Wallaby head of the Hooligan program which is in essence the AHAB'S top secret covert ops unit, that we label as the villain reintegration program. You three were locked up for various crimes and are now here to do some good in the world, this mission will be a simple data retrieval. Get the data and bring it back to the starting point and you'll win." Wallaby told them.
"Sounds easy" Conflict said smirking.
"I wouldn't get too cocky there" Lady Shadows said
"So...what code name am I going to have?" Gene asked making the two look at each other
"Exshellent" they said
"I can live with that" Exshellent said as he formed his armour.
"IN 3 2 1!" Wallaby called out as tee siren went making the three dash off. Lady Shadow quickly found some shadows and merged with them. That way she could she could move around undetected.
"That's so cool" Conflict said before he started to run, building up his adrenaline, making his skin glow bright red before he slapped one of the metal walls, making a hole in it, before a turret activated and aimed at them.
"CONFLICT!" Exshellent shouted as he pulled Conflict back before he tanked the bullets
"Thanks man" Conflict said as he grabbed a massive bullet, heating up the shell before the round went off destroying the turret before pieces went flying
"WHOA!" lady Shaow shouted before she remegered out of the shadws on the catwalk.
"Sorry' Exshellent shouted as he waved.
"At least up here I can see the data point" she said
"Cool" Conflict shouted before he made another hole in the wall. Giving an opening for them to get through.
"Not bad so far" Captain Lightningbolt smirked watching the test
"But I feel like they're not being fully tested" Sharkfang said
"You guys thinking what I am?" Cruncher asked
"Oh no" Wallaby groaned
"Oh yes" they all said before the rushed out of the observation area and into the testing zone.
"I knew this would happen, but it will be good for them" Wallaby groaned.
"Things are too easy" Lady Shadow smiled before she felt a tingle in the air. "What is?"
"Surprise girlie" Capt Lightingbolt shouted as he landed and unleashed a wave of electricity.
"WHOA!" she shouted before jumping back into the shadows.
"Now let's see what's going on" he said looking around.
"I see her shadow" Huntsman shouted s a shadow was moving through the areas. The shadow paused and disappeared deeper into the larger shadows."Eclipsa!" he called out
"I'm on it" she called out making her quirk active.
"What was that?" Conflict asked
"I'm not sure" Exshellent said looking around.
"G'day mates" Cruncher said as he landed and bit into a brick, shifting his body into a brick like form. Smirking as he punched Conflict in the face, then cracked Exshellent's armour
"Okay my turn" Conflict laughed before a loud cloud of steam was created from his superheated body. "COLD!" he shouted
"Yeah sorry about that" Thredbo said
"NOT!" Perisher added
"Not? Seriously what are you living in the 90's of the pre quirked era?" Thredbo asked
"Oh shut up!" Perisher snapped
"Great ice users" Conflict said before he punched the floor, making it crack underneath forcing the twins out of the way and freezing the floor with their ice ability. Conflict the built up his heat again and punched the air making balls of hot air fly at the twins, who created a barrier of ice.
"I don't think so" Cruncher punched at him, his fist becoming scorched just by landing it a punch
'That was hot, if wasn't made of brick, then my hand would be covered in third degree burns by now" Cruncher though before he saw a car's engine fly at him, "WHOA!" he exclaimed getting out of the way before Conflict rushed over and punched him in the gut, making Cruncher fly into a crate of ammo
"BOO YAH!" Conflict shouted as he walked over, onto to be punched in the face, Cruncher was less rocky and now more metallic. "What the?
"Anything I crunch I become, and thankfully I found a bunch of Tungsten" he smiled.
"Oh crap" Conflict panicked.
"Got to think of something quickly" Lady Shadows worried as she knew several were closing in on her location, namely Huntsman, Boomerang, Eclipsa and King Brown. She smiled as she slid into the shadows, only leaving her ivory leather coat behind.
"I found her coat" Huntsman said a minute later. SPREAD OUT!" he said "And be careful"
"I found her shirt" King Brown frowned holding up a black long sleeve top.
"Pants over here" Eclipsa said from another area.
"Dude, I found her thong!" Feedback shouted
"She was wearing boots" Eclipsa said
"Not that kind of thong" Huntsman told her
"Oh" Eclipsa said
"Wait is she stripping naked in the shadows then randomly appearing and placing the clothing items?" Feedback asked
"I think so" King Brown said
"Great" Eclipsa groaned
"while they're gathering my clothes up, I'll gladly get the data" lady Shadow said before she reemerged a in a dark grey leather catsuit which she got from a small backpack, she then rushed to the data terminal.
"OVER HERE!" Exshellent shouted as he formed his bio armour before a bolt of lightning was fired at him, the shell making him completely unfazed.
"Nice" Captain Lighting-bolt smiled "You'll be a good fit here"
"I heard so much about the legendary Captain Lightningbolt, even his infamous ice cream run" Exshellent chuckled.
"Indeed, but what's your story?" he asked
"Not much to tell, "I'm ex SASR!" Exhsellent shouted before he threw a punched, "I got an honourable discharged. Only I was framed for killing my CO and was thrown in prison. Thankfully Wallaby recruited me before I was labelled a big time villain" Exshellent told them
"She's good like that" Captain Lightningbolt said
"Actually I was a cellmate of your brother" Exshellent said
"Oh?" Captain Lightningbolt smiled. "Good to see he had someone like you there"
"Yeah." Exshellent nodded.
"Now let's see if I got the right terminal" Lady Shadow said before she started to the download and sunk back into the shadows to hide, Boomerang quickly ran over and checked it
"She's not here!" Boomerang called out
"Check for any shadows and use the light to force her out" Eclipsa said
"Finally" Boomerang said before he pulled out a boomerang made out of a pair of glass tubes. He then threw it up in the air before it shone brightly making Lady Shadow appear out of the shadows and kick him in the balls, flipped him over the shoulder and grabbed the data. "This is lady shadow I have the data we need"
"EXERCISE OVER!" Wallaby said
"whoa" Lady Shadow said collapsing.
Soon the three new rookies were standing with the others in the control room with Wallaby
"Well?" she asked
"It would be a shame if they went back, I guess we got three new teammates" Captain Lightningbolt smiled.
"Welcome aboard" King Brown smiled, holding his hand out
"It's good to see you guys will fit in with us really well" Sharkfang said
"Now we have a mission for you, Tilda Storm aka Tidal, she's being imprisoned at the moment but given that Infernocus and Tornadus have escaped they are bound to come with her, and with their access to the Coalition they have a large army" Wallaby started to brief them.
"So you want us to go in there and reinforcements?" Captain Lightningbolt asked
"yes, we would like you to do so" Wallaby said "And with these three it may be an even playing field" Wallaby nodded.
"Question, are we going to be facing them?" Cruncher asked
"We don't know which one of the two it will be" Wallaby answered making them frown/
"Also where's the one they call Quaker" King Brown asked
"I was curious of threat as well" Perisher said
"Classified" Wallaby said making the Hooligans confused. Never before were they told something was classified considering they in turn were classified, though publicly known by the AHAB and pro heroes, given their public missions such as the Atlas attack. So it felt weird to them,
"That's a first" Thredbo muttered
"I know, but those are my orders" Wallaby said
"You're not hiding anything from us are you?" Boomerang asked
"Like I could" Wallaby said.
Soon they were up in the air in a modified V-10 Osprey the group looked at each other
"Since when have we been given the classified bullshit?" Boomerang asked
"We haven't" Cruncher frowned. "We've always been told things about whatever mission we've been given"
"Another way to see it: they're worried about a leak inside the AHAB" King Brown told them.
"Given how Infernocus and Tornadus escaped it wouldn't be hard to see why they would be thinking that" Capt Lightningbolt nodded. "And if they keep the information about where the fourth member of the Quartet quiet then, they can start looking for the leak by telling different people different things." He frowned
"You're serious boss?" Boomerang asked
"I am" Capt Lightningbolt said
"I can hack their servers and find the fourth member, and since we're all technically villains we can go in and kill him, preventing the four of them from coming together" Lady Shadow said making everyone look at her strangely
"Dark" Exshellent commented before the felt the plane going down
"we're desceding" Thredbo said.
"An Osprey?" Starlet asked as the ship can landing on the desert floor. "Skylark an unmarked V-10 Osprey just landed, are we expecting company?" she asked
"Negative" Skylark called back, "It could be them!"
"Roger, I'll move in for a closer look" Starlet responded.
"Be careful" Skylark warned
"You got it" Starlet said as she flew over to the aircraft and watched as it opened up. She got ready to fly in when a familiar figure ran out,
"THIS IS WHY WE TOLD YOU GO BEFORE WE LEFT!" Cruncher shouted before Boomerang who was pissing out in the open swore back at him
"False alarm, it's just the hooligans" Starlet smiled
"The Hooligans?" Skylark asked
"BOOMERANG!" Captian Lightningbolt shouted before he growled. "WE HAVE A LADY PRESENT!" he shouted
"WHAT!" the hooligans said
"Hey James" Satrklet said as she landed smiling
"Starlet, we're here to back you up" Captain Lightningbolt nodded back
"That's good, we don't know when they're coming" Starlet informed them as she lead them down to the prison level.
"Whoa you can feel the coolness" Thredbo said
"Indeed, you think it would be warm" Perisher commented.
"Yeah you would think that" Captain Lightningbolt said "But sometimes the opposite is true"
"They're keeping it at a brisk 18 degrees, so she would build up any sweat" Skylark said as she and Wedgetail walked over to them. Captain Lightningbolt smiled and walked over to his wife "So you're my backup?"
"Appears so" Captain Lightningbolt kissed her
"Cool" Feedback said.
"Now what do we need to know?" Cruncher asked as the team followed the heroes.
"They're keeping Tidal in an area where water is hard to gather, only problem is that we have to knock her out to hydrate and clean her, otherwise she can use her quirk Wildwater to control water and make it into a wave" Skylark explained.
"They also have some special anti-UV filters over the large hold they have her under so she doesn't get sunburnt" Starlet told them
"What about her minions" King Brown asked
"We're not sure, so far we only have an account of two: Blackfang and Aquos" Starlet said
"Aqous?" Eclipsa asked
"The person she considers her best friend, thankfully she hasn't escaped from the women's detention centre we put her in" Skylark growled.
Leah Wave was busy attending a garden bed at the woman's prison she was kept in. She was missing her friend who was in a secret place, but she knew she had to get out of her because of her babysister.
"Leah Wave?" a voice asked as a woman joined her
'Who are you?" Leah asked
"I'm Pamela Sinclair" she smiled
"Poisona" Leah realised. "What are you doing here?" she whispered.
"Isn't it obvious, I'm getting you out of here so you can help us break Tilda out" Posiona said
"How, I mean?" Leaha sked
"You haven't heard. Her brothers were freed" Piosna said
"Really, how?" Leah asked shocked "I mean I would liek to see her again, but I'm here for my sister" Leah said added nervously
"Come on Aquos" Poisona said "You're needed"
"Okay, but once she's out, I'm back here" Leah said
"Fine, SPOT!" Poisona called out as a hole appeared in mid air.
"Miladies" Spot called out as Leah looked around, seeing no guards
"I put them to sleep with my pollen" Poisona told her as she got into the hole. Leah sighed and quickly got in before the hole closed.
"WHOA!" Leah shouted as she was dumped in the desert
"Well done" Infernocus said as he walked up to them.
"Thank you, oh by the way this is Leah Wave aka Aquos" Poisona said
"G'Day Aquos" Infernocus smiled
"Infernocus, I heard you heard escaped, but still seeing it" Leah gasped.
"Just give us what I gave you so I can get out of this shit" Poisona griped already stripping off, a wall wind obscuring them
"Brother, please we should be gentlemen in front of such ladies" Tornadus smiled
"Okay okay, but still we need to get ready to break our sister out, And then find Quentin" Infernocus said
"You ever wonder why we have odd names, but Tidal and Quaker don't?" Tornadus asked
"Now that you mention in" Infernocus frowned.
"HEY!" Poisona said as he walked out wearing her villain costume, Aquos doing the same which was a white sparkly bandeau top under a powder blue vest, a black choker around her neck, her left leg was clad in a sheer blue stocking while her right was bare and a pair of gloves on her hands
"You two look great" Tornadus said
"Indeed" Infernocus said
"Thanks" Leah blushed
"It was this way" Brisbane growled.
"So that's her huh, Big Bad Tidal" Boomerang said as they walked into the chamber holding her.
"Watch it Boomerang, she's not like your other prisoners, we've got her tied up like that so she can get any unsanctioned water" the warden said
"Good" Captain Lightningbolt said as he looked at the UV Filter that was in the large hole, pouring sunlight down on Tidal.
"How strong is that?" he asked
"Fairly strong" a guard said, Captain Lightningbolt nodded before he looked closer at it. He's eyes suddenly opened wider, acting quickly he threw a lightning bolt at the wall just under it, a small puff of steam appearing
"Someone is trying to get them out" Captain Lightningbolt shouted
"How can you tell?" Skylark asked
"There's water dripping in" Capt Lightningbolt told them
"But how?" the warden asked before a humanoid Lion and a pop idol walked over the filter
"BRISBANE AND AQUOS!" Skylark shouted,
"Greetings ladies and gentlemen" Spot taunted them, opening up a hole right behind Capt Lightningbolt, who shoved his hand in the hole and lit it up making the hole shimmer.
"WE HAVE INCOMING!" the warden shouted.
G'Day Guys Grizz, so the first Hooligans chapter up and it is just a recruitment test for three new characters. Now most of the Hooligans are based off of characters in the Suicide Squad and Thunderbolts. So these three new characters are based on Venom, Black Widow and Red Hulk! Plus who I have as Leah's sister will be revealed later after Tidal is release which will be next time and hopefully like the other two breakouts it will not disappoint. Alos to clarify that thong joke. In Australia what Americans call Flip-Flops we call thongs, not sure why I had to add that joke in, just did.
