One day, Luz and Lincoln slowly opened their eyes and groaned. They were lying on the floor and looked to their left and then sat up, finding themselves in a dimly lit corridor. On the walls of both sides, there were multiple huge paintings.
Amity looked to her front and gasped.
"Luz, look.", Amity said in worry.
Then, Luz turned around and gasped from seeing what she saw: a huge painting depicting Emperor Nechros holding his staff while looming over Eda in her Owl Beast form. Below the painting was a plaque which said "TRIUMPH OVER WILD MAGIC". Luz and Lincoln stood up and moved backwards with frightened expressions on their faces.
"Are you all right?", Lincoln' asked.
"Luz, Lincoln, can you read me?", lucy asked.
Hearing her voice surprised both Luz and Lincoln.
"lucy? What happened? Where are we?", Lincoln asked.
Then, a voice spoke up.
"i know where we are.", hunter spoke before Luz and Lincoln turned to see Hunter.
"we're trapped in my father's mind!", Hunter said.
"Huh?!", Luz and Lincoln shouted in unison.
With Hunter, Luz, and Lincoln inside Nechros' mindscape, the latter two looked around incredulously.
"We're actually in Nechros' mind?!", Lincoln asked in shock.
"I know. That's bananas!", Luz agreed.
"I don't know what those are!", Heather snapped and "Remember what happened at the Night Market?", Hunter asked.
Earlier at the night market.
a peddler was trying to sell teeth.
"Teeth! Get your teeth! We got all varieties and qualities!", the peddler spoke before he even put his hand on someones shoulders.
"I even do trades.", the peddler sneered, taking out a pair of pliers as he spoke.
The person he puts his hand on, however, turned out to be hunter wearing his old golden guard mask, who glared at him through her mask as Hunter turned around with her, both in their respective Guard attire.
"I am not interested in your disgusting teeth...!", Heather glared.
This caught the peddler by surprise.
"Oh, I... mean, why would I trade teeth? That's illegal and unsanitary. But, I mean, if you're interested...", the peddler spoke,
"You're lucky we're here for a different reason. So, take those teeth with you and get out of here.", Hunter urged.
"Okay.", the peddler spoke, leaving.as kakashi appeared in front of knocking him out.
Hunter saw ten hooded, suspicious figures walking nearby.
he followed the ten hooded figures into an alley and hid behind a barrel each. Although not outright shown, the ten figures are implied to be Raine,nari,scarlet witch, zecora, Mason, Hettie Cutburn,Melissa, Darius, Eberwolf, and Belos himself.After Eberwolf finished drawing some circles on the ground, Raine started playing their flute while zecora and Darius mixed up some liquid in a test tube he is holding, Melissa placed a small purple flame in the center of the circle and another on Belos, Hettie Cutburn made sure the circles are in place and formed neatly while nari placed one rose at the center not too close to the fire, Eberwolf plucked out a bit of his hair and placed it at the center as well with Darius setting the test tube down and Mason giving Darius a power boost for his abomination goo and making his left hand transform into an Abomination hammer, preparing to break it.
"But just as we were about to stop them...", Hunter began as he and kakashi jumped out from behind the barrel and confronted the 10.
Suddenly, both Lincoln popped up from below and blocked the screen.
"Oh, wait! I remember now!",Lincoln realized.
"Hey!", hunter whined before the flashback rewinded as she ducked back down.
It rewound back to some point of time earlier. And when it stopped, it showed a door with a glass panel, and a sign with the "OPEN" part facing the other side inside the building.
"I remember, too.me, Luz,amity,lucy, Lilith, Eda,Chris, King,deon,Apollo and kim to the Night Market to repair Luz's witch's wool cape. But, we ran into some trouble.", kim spoke as Eda knocked on the glass panel.
"Hello? Prim? Did you get into the Night Juice again? Hello?", Eda asked in a sing-songy voice.
Luz,amity,lucy, Lilith, Eda,Chris, King,deon,Apollo and kim were outside the door when King's voice came up from a walkie-talkie Luz and Amity were holding with Cotton accompanying the two girlfriends.
"Is this thing on? Demon King to Luzura and Hecamity, you copy?", King asked.
Luz and Amity turned to their left as Ghost meowed through King's walkie-talkie before Luz called out to King.
"Sure do!", Luz grinned.
Then, King,deon and Ghost popped out from a tub filled with skulls.
"Oh, uh, right.", Luz spoke before turning around.
"10-4, Demon King. Luzura and Hecamity here with Echo, Delta. What's your 20? Over.", Luz spoke.
"Mew?", ghost added.
"Uh, oh. Uh... Hable más lento, por favor.", King requested as Subtitles appeared below, saying, 'Speak more slowly, please.'.
"Aw, you remembered your lesson. But that wasn't Spanish, buddy. I read you loud and clear! Over.", Luz spoke.
"Do you think they'll be long?", Amity asked to Ghost, who mewed in puzzlement before Eda shouted.
"Hey, Prim!", Eda shouted, banging on the glass panel again.
Then, Prim finally opened the door.
"Ah, there you are. I need more witch's wool. I got a kid with cold shoulders and a knack for gettin' into trouble.", Eda requested as she squatted down.
"The shop is closed, Eda. I've... finally decided to join a coven.", Prim sadly stated, showing Eda and Luz an shadow Oracle Coven sigil on her wrist, much to Eda's dismay.
"Emperor Nechros says wild witches celebrate destruction and... pain.", Prim spoke.
"I mean, I know I can be... abrasive, but-", Eda began.
"He also says that the Titan punishes those who aid wild witches. I can't have you here.", Prim sadly spoke, shutting the door.
Luz glanced over at Eda and then became angry while Amity grew concerned for Luz.
"Well, what does he know?! Nechros is a liar. He just wants power! And I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that he can't speak to the Titan!", Luz berated as she walked towards the door and banged on it, making kim and Amity give concerned looks for her and everyone else nearby gasp.
"Do you think she's right?", the purple-haired witch spoke.
"Don't let the Titan hear you say that. Nechros says he can read minds.", a yellow demon with horns added just as chris,Lincoln, Lilith, and Apollo were on their way with some materials.
"Read minds?", Lincoln pondered to himself.
"What even is a doughnut?", the purple-haired witch puzzled as the crowd dispersed with Eda noticing their reaction before Belos spoke.
"Oh, please. You're being dramatic.", chris said, getting out one material required to fix the witch's wool cape as Apollo, chris, and Lilith got out the rest.
"Hey. You got every material we need to fix it.", Luz grinned.
"That's perfect!", Lincoln grinned.
Then, Eda called out to Luz.
"Hey, I'll be fine. You're the one who needs to be careful.", Eda warned.
"But people should know who Nechros really is!", Luz snapped.
"And who is he, really?", Eda asked.
Luz was unable to give an answer.
"Well, you have to admit, Luz. We both know that Nechros is evil, but we don't even actually know why, let alone what he's really planning.", Amity stated.
"She's right. It's been awhile since Nechros and the shadow coven attacked the royal family. Everyone is already used to this.", Lilith said.
"And no one's gonna risk any change unless you we have proof that he's up to something.", Chris added.
Then, Eda noticed that Luz was looking dejected.
"Ah, come on. We'll figure something out. But first, let's see if there are any respectable criminals left in this city.", assured Eda, punching Luz's shoulder before she stood up, took out her Owl Staff from her hair, and then walked away.
"I hate seeing people look at Eda that way. But how can I prove he's actually evil? It feels so obvious, but no one believes me! No one answers my letters!", Luz spoke before groaning and scratching her head.
"I don't know what to do!", Luz spoke sadly,
"Are you okay, Luz?", Amity asked.
"King's right. How can I find that something?", Luz asked.
"You mean 'we'? You're not doing this alone, you know.", assured Amity with a grin, making Luz smile sweetly.
"Thanks.", Luz beamed.
Then, Luz suddenly noticed something, or rather someone, and gasped with Lincoln noticing, too. Not far away from her, they saw Hunter and kakashi running into an alley.
Hunter and kakashi were following 10 figures but then felt water from behind then azula shot a small amount of electricity to knock them out.
"Perfect timing.", Luz spoke, rolling up her sleeve.
azula ran past barrels as Luz,Lincoln,stringbean, and bunbun's heads then popped up from behind them. Azula approached unknown to them Raine,nari,scarlet witch, zecora, Mason, Hettie,Melissa,Darius,Eberwolf, and Belos while Luz and Lincoln snuck up on azula from behind.
"Halt!", azula shouted before the 10 figures turned around to see azula as Darius restored his Abomination hammer hand to normal state.
"For crimes against the shadow coven, you are all under arrest!", azula shouted
"You two?!", azula shouted.
"Luz? Lincoln? What are you two doing here?", Belos puzzled to himself in unison before he turned to everyone else.
"Everyone, leave quickly!", Belos urged, surprising Luz and Lincoln .
"Dad?", Luz puzzled.
"Belos?", Lincoln asked in unison.
Then, as instructed, Raine proceeded to start playing their flute and create a smokescreen.
"No, no, no! Stop!"i forbid you to flee!", azula added.But by the time the smoke dispersed, Raine,nari,scarlet witch, zecora, Mason, Hettie Cutburn,Melissa, Darius, and Eberwolf were already gone, leaving Belos behind. Azula groaned in frustration and glared toward Luz and Lincoln angrily
"You two! Do you know what you've just done?!", azula glared as she was about to fire bend.then hunter flash punched her hard into a wall.
That for zapping me and kakashi, hunter said but then accidentally stepped onto something and broke it, causing it to start glowing. Hunter glanced downwards and noticed that she had stepped on a neon yellow vial, which flashed brightly.
"What about what you've done?", Hunter asked worriedly.
"Uh... what's that?", Luz asked.
"What's going on?", Lincoln asked.
Then, the circles Luz,Lincoln and Hunter, were standing in, especially the center with Belos and kakashi in it, started flashing brightly, causing 4 out of 5 to cry out in shock. The light then wrapped them up and shot up into the night sky, creating a firework. Soon after, Hunter's witch staff fell to the ground and then transformed into Flapjack as they landed next to Hunter's mask old mask. They looked down at the broken glass pieces sadly before looking up to Belos and kakashi, a small purple flame now on each of their foreheads and still brightly lit, and chirping.
Then, it went back to Luz,Lincoln and Hunter, in Nechros' mindscape.
"So, that's what happened.", Lincoln responded.
"You said you wanted people to know who Nechros really is, Luz? Maybe this could be your chance.", belos spoke.
"But please, be careful. Neither of us know what lurks in his mind.", Belos' voice stated.
now that we're in his mind, we can learn the truth for ourselves.", Luz glared.
"This is odd, though. Amity's been in Luz's mind once, and it had more trees.", Lincoln said, noticing something.
"Eh, makes sense. Mindscapes reflect the individual. I've read a lot about this subject.", Hunter responded then suddenly noticed something, gasped, and walked towards it."Whoa, look at this memory!", hunter groan, pointing to a painting depicting Nechros liuring people away from a burning town that burn down as Hunter, Lincoln, and Luz approached it.
"You know, i once believed wild magic wiped out our family and said that got themselves hurt. But a couple of things are true like That's why Belos took in the survivors, and dedicated his life to making the Coven System! It's why he's so well-liked!", running towards another painting and stopped next to a painting depicting people happily reaching out their hands towards belos, who was holding a glowing floating orb with his left hand.and freedom make the Titan happy.", Heather added.
"I don't know if I'd go that far.", Lincoln responded just before Hunter noticed another painting to his left and gasped and then walked towards it.
"Oh! This is when we inherited our staffs! You know, me and pride the youngest scouts to become Golden and Platinum Guard. We, uh,never really what happened to the previous one.", Hunter said before Luz and Lincoln looked at the previous golden guard with an uneasy expression on his faces.
"Huh? Wow Darius look really sad here?", hunter said.
"Maybe because Nechros had something to do with what happened to the last guards.", Amity retorted with a glare as Luz started looking around and noticed the painting she and Amity first saw when they woke up.
"Okay, you know what, Blight? I am sick and tired of your slander against our father! You're just jealous that you'll never have a life like ours! So, why don't you just-", Heather began as Luz walked up to painting and touched the part where Owl Beast Eda was drawn with a glum look on her face.
Suddenly, before Heather could finish, she, Hunter, Luz, and Amity heard the sound of a child crying. Luz followed the sound with Amity following her and both found a child figure with a wooden mask similar to Belos' sitting behind a pillar sobbing. He noticed Luz and Amity before immediately standing up, frightened by their presence.
"Nechros?", Luz and Amity puzzled together.
"Nechros?", Hunter asked , much to his surprise.
Scared, the child figure turned and ran away.
"Huh?", Luz puzzled.
"Why was he running?", Lincoln puzzled.
Then, as if to answer, Lincoln and Luz turned around and noticed a dark figure resembling Nechros approaching them.
The dark figure stopped in behind of Hunter while the child figure emerged from behind it and shook his head and hands at the 3 desperately. Luz and Lincoln looked at him with a puzzled expression when suddenly, the dark figure roared and started transforming, revealing multiple glowing rinnegan eyes on its body while also screeching.
"hunter! Watch out!", Amity shouted, rushing to the front of both Hunter only for her to trip right into the monster's clawed, gooey hand.
"Lincoln !", Luz shouted.
"Get away from him! Danger! Danger! Run!", the panicked voices spoke.
"Huh? Wha...?", Lincoln puzzled.
"Get your stinking claws off my girlfriend's cousin, you titan-darned, dirty monster!", Luz shouted as she then used her fire spells.
This created an explosion with blasts strong enough to send everyone flying backwards, causing the monster to release Amity, whose eyes turned back to normal. Luz,Lincoln and Hunter rolled on the floor and then crashed through a wall, falling down a dark void. Thankfully, Luz got out a hover glyph from her pocket, grabbed onto Hunter and Lincoln, and then activated it before they hit the ground. They managed to come to a halt near the ground, but the paper then disintegrated, causing them to crash into the ground face-first. The three sat up, as Luz rubbed her head in pain.
"Luz!"hunter!" Are you two okay?", Lincoln asked.
"Are you kidding? I was gonna ask the same thing about you.", Luz responded before she and Lincoln looked up to see the hole they just came through disappear.
"Where are we now?", Hunter asked.
"Good question. Dad, where are we now?", Luz asked.
"You're in Nechros' real mind.", Belos' voice spoke.
Then, the 3 stood up and found themselves in a strange place filled with dead trees. Some paintings can be seen on the tree trunks.
"What do you mean Father's real mind? Hunter began, looking upward.
"Was made of all the lies he tells. He's not who you think he is.", Luz responded as stringbean and bunbun perked up and looked around.
Then, Hunter noticed a couple of abandoned palismen on the ground and picked each one up. But when they did, the palismen then disintegrated in their hands, causing them to tremble with both guards clutching their hands and then standing up.
"Now, we're going to speak with dr.fate. He should be able to help my inner self get where you 3 are, with present company. Until then, make sure you 3 stay alive and in one piece. Understand?", Belos' voice asked.
"Yes, Dad!", Luz saluted.
"Yes, sir!", Lincoln nodded.
"yes,uncle", Hunter said.
"Excellent. Good luck.", Belos' voice said.
then Eda's voice suddenly came out from Luz's walkie-talkie.
"Boo!", Eda shouted.
"Ah!", Hunter shouted, startled.
Then, Luz took out her walkie-talkie.
"Who now?", Heather puzzled before suddenly, Flapjack's chirps came out from Luz's walkie-talkie.
Very quickly, Hunter gasped and immediately grabbed it from Luz's hand.
"Flapjack!", Hunter shouted.
"Are you okay? are hurt you?", hunter asked before Luz snatched the walkie-talkie from hunter's hands.
"Give me that! So, guys. Lincoln and I may kinda sorta be trapped in, uh... Nechros' mind.", Luz responded.
"How in the world did you- No, we don't have time for that. Has the Inner Nechros spotted you yet?", maria gasped.
"Maybe..., but we were able to get away... with help.", Lincoln explained.
"Can there be two inner selves?", Luz asked.
"No. But I have heard of strong emotions materializing. Just stay safe. If you're devoured in his mindscape-", Eda began before Hunter interrupted.
"We could be trapped!", Hunter piped up before Luz and Lincoln turned to see her pacing back and forth around Heather, looking worried.
"Dragged down into his subconscious forever. I... told you I read about this stuff.", Hunter explained.
"Well, we're gonna get you all out! We'll make a return spell as fast as we can!", King assured.
"Just don't lose the walkie-talkie. It's our only connection to you guys.", Eda urged.
"Roger that, Eda. Over and out.", assured Lincoln before hunter called out.
"Wait!", hunter shouted before snatching the walkie-talkie from Luz's hand.
"We'll be home soon, Flapjack, Stay safe.", hunter spoke before Flapjack chirped.
"i love you, too. Over and out.", hunter said before Flapjack chirped.
"Aww!", Eda and King spoke before hunter ended the transmission and gave the walkie-talkie back to Luz.
Suddenly, they heard sounds of leaves rustling.
"What?", Lincoln puzzled before all three looked towards the source of sound and saw the child figure from before emerging from behind a tree.
"It's you! Kid Nechros!", Luz shouted.
"What?", Hunter puzzled before Luz walked towards Kid Nechros and knelt down to talk to him.
"Thank you for helping us before. You don't seem as scary as your inner self.", Luz said to him.
Suddenly, from somewhere above, while it seemed that the Inner Nechros screeched to everyone else, luz, whose eyes briefly flashed bright red, heard it shouting loudly to them, "RUN!", which surprised Luz, Lincoln and Hunter all the same, especially Kid Nechros. He covered his ears, ran toward Luz, and grabbed her arm.
"If strong emotions can take form, maybe he's the Emperor's... I don't know, guilt?", Lincoln asked.
"But that doesn't make any sense. He doesn't have any guilt over what he's done whatsoever.", Lincoln said.
"yeah, I think that's his dark side.", Hunter admitted.
I think he can help us stay safe. And maybe you can show us who Nechros really is.", Luz responded, whispering back to Kid Nechros before he nodded.
"What was that?", Hunter asked.
From somewhere above, Inner Nechros screeched again, causing her's eyes to glow blue as she gasped, hearing, "GET OUT!" in a panic before the glow on her eyes faded again. Then, Kid Nechros grabbed Luz's arm and dragged her away.
"No time! Let's go, go, go!", Luz urged.
"Wait!", Lincoln urged as he and hunter ran after them.
Eventually, Kid Nechros led Luz to a painting and jumped through it with Luz preparing to follow suit.
"Wait! We don't know what we'd find in there!", Lincoln warned.
"if i was the golden guard I would say invade his memories? That's sacrilege!", hunter shouted before somewhere above, Inner Nechros screeched again, making luz's eyes flash red.
"Luz!", Lincoln shouted.
"luz!", Hunter shouted in unison before the two followed after them and all three fell into the painting together.
Meanwhile at the tower of fate
Belos walked over to the kent nelson, the purple flame still lit on her forehead, but with no damage on her head at all.
"Whoa, Belos, hey, are you gonna enter Nechros' mind?", kent nelson.
"Yes. It has to be done.", Belos responded.
"The Coven Heads are inside, right?", kent nelson asked.
"No. They were going to be, but then, some complications came up when Luz,Lincoln and Hunter, showed up. Now, they're the ones trapped inside.", Belos explained.
"What? Oh, jeez, man! That's not cool, like, seriously not cool. So, you're gonna go in there, find them, and get them out?", kent nelson asked.
"That is the general plan, yes.", Belos said.
"Well, in that case, i just needs to use the millennium key and with my magic, you'll be taken to where you feel you need to go. Also, we're gonna be keeping an eye on you and hearing everything that's going on so that we'd know when to send you right back if things get too dicey.", kent responded. As he puts on his helmet and turns into dr.fate
"I appreciate that. Thank you.", Belos assured.
"No problem, if you would?", dr.fate asked before he cleared his throat and then chanted with wide eyes.
"a golden beam came from the millennium key and the from dr.fate chest before the flame on Belos' head lit up, seemingly burning them completely before the flames doused away and flew into the sky with Belos having disappeared.
"Good luck!", dr.fate wished.
Meanwhile outside the owl house.
Eda and the others arrived back on then, they flung the door open.
"Hootsifer, I need you to lock down the house. Windows shut, curtains drawn, absolutely zero distractions.", Lilith urged.
As she spoke, she grabbed some stuff from the ledge above the fireplace. Flapjack hovered nearby, also grabbing an object.
"King,deon,apollo,lucy go grab all the textbooks you can find.", Chris urged before King and his siblings ran off.
Eda just groaned.
"This is gonna be tough sine didn't cast the spell. Hooty! Chop-chop!", Eda urged.
"Ma'am!", Hooty agreed before proceeding to barricade all the windows, summon some spiky plants from the ground to surround the house, and latch the front door shut with multiple locks.
He then hung a sign outside the front door which said: "BRB!". Not far away, Raine,nari,scarlet witch, zecora, Mason, Hettie Cutburn,Melissa, Darius, Eberwolf were hiding in the bushes. Raine intended to go near the house, but was stopped by Darius.
"Oh, hey, your buddy trapped too, right? Hunter?", Hooty guessed.
At the mention of Hunter, Darius immediately rushed forward, but Raine halted him.
"Eda's smart next to Lulu, but... since you didn't cast the spell, I'm afraid they can't do much.", Hooty said sadly as he shook his head.
Raine crossed their arms as Darius scratched his head. Eberwolf popped out from a bush beside them. Raine then proceeded to write on the ground to communicate with the duo. They wrote: "I KNOW HOW TO GET PAST THE BIRD", "OWL?", "TUBE?", "HIM!", pointing to a sketch of Hooty with arrows pointing at it.
Back at nechros mindscape
Luz,Lincoln and hunter fell out of the painting Luz previously pulled them into. Kid Nechros appeared out of thin air in front of them, and ran away while laughing. The four followed him to an area depicting one of Nechros' memories - which took place during the Deadwardian Era somewhere in Bonesborough. In fact, back then, multiple townspeople have gathered in front of an empty platform. Kid Nechros vanished as he approached the crowd while Luz,Lincoln and hunter ran toward the platform and stopped in front of it, especially with a few witches, one of which was a purple witch with ram horns.
"He says he can talk to the Titan.", the male townsperson said.
"The Titan's dead, how is that possible?", the female townspeople spoke.
Then, nechros stepped onto the platform, the townspeople gasping.
"Fellow citizens, we here. Our lives anger the Titan. Our own family has been hurt by the darkness of wild magic.", Nechros spoke as he bowed down before a past version of his artificial staff sparked and smoke came out of it, obscuring everything around him save for his red eyes.
Just then, explosions suddenly started to go off everywhere nearby.
"The wild witches! They have found us! Run!", the black-masked man urged.
"You heard him! Run!", a citizen urged as everyone. Just then a young rj and princess celestia help with the evacuation.
I think nechros was here rj said.
"Let's follow them.", Lincoln urged before he, Luz,and Hunter ran to an alleyway nearby, and saw another part of Nechros' memory where he was standing in front of a previous Golden Guard scolding him.
"You incompetent fools. You nearly took my head off with that blast!", Nechros ridiculed.
"Apologies, sir.", the Golden Guard said.
"We'll be more careful next time father.", envy added.
"I'm off to the next town.", Nechros spoke as he opened the door inside.
"Uh, what about... the rest of these?", the previous Golden Guard asked, taking off a blanket revealing various boxes of unused explosives.
"Put on a bigger show.", Nechros responded,
The old Golden and envy ignited the fuse and then followed Nechros into a building. But before they could, Hunter suddenly saw the same area in a new light with Belos having coronation
"This place is so beautiful,", rj spoke to Belos.
"Yes. It's quite beautiful, isn't it? Perhaps just lively enough for a Child to grow up in.", Belos grinned.
then Kid Nechros appeared, picked up a bag filled with what sounds to be glass bottles, and jumped through another painting. Luz, Lincoln and Hunter followed suit, and landed outside the memory.
"Nechros was lying! Wild witches weren't attacking him.", Luz scolded.
"How could my ancestors help someone like that?!", hunter said.
"What is going on here?!", Belos' voice called, surprising the 3 before Belos appeared, albeit glowing in a blue color and with the latter in her true form.
"Dad!", Luz shouted.
"uncle!", hunter shouted.
"Belos!!", Lincoln said in unison.
"What's going on?", Belos asked.
"I don't know. We just came out of a memory and all of a sudden, they started writhing in pain.", Luz responded.
"Let us hope we don't have to deal with that again.", Belos said.
Suddenly, the inner Nechros started to creep out of a memory, reaching towards Luz and hunter, the latter gasping as their eyes flashed red.
"Get out while you still can!", the voices spoke to luz.
"Ah! He found us!", hunter shouted before kid Nechros laughed and jumped into another memory.
Luz, Lincoln and Hunter, followed them in while Belos however, stayed behind.
"This is odd. I've never seen this phenomenon before.", Belos stated.
"Me neither. And I think it's my first time having to go in someone's mind like this. One thing's certain, though: something's very wrong here...", belos agreed before then going in the memory.
This memory took place at the top of the Knee, where Nechros was standing in front of a group of nine witches and demons. Kid Nechros jumped up and grabbed a loose rope hanging off one of them before running away.
"What's the kid doing?", Hunter asked.
"And why would he need rope for?", Heather asked.
"Shh!", Luz and Lincoln shushed.
Then, Nechros gestured towards a burning city in front of the crowd as Belos realized what the memory is.
"Of all the memories..., why did it have to be this one?", Belos asked with disdain.
"dad, do you know what's going on?", luz asked.
"About what?", Belos asked.
"Ever since the monster caught me, I started hearing voices, begging us to get out of here.", luz responded.
"What monster?", Belos asked.
"The Inner Nechros.", luz responded.
This shocked Belos as his widened eyes.
But before he could even speak again, Nechros spoke out first.
"Look at what wild magic has done to your city. Now imagine what it's doing to you. A city can rise from the ashes, but a soul...", Nechros began before he shook his head slowly, making the crowd uneasy and murmur among themselves.
"What does that mean?", a citizen asked.
"Wait, what?", the green-eyed witch puzzled.
"I can make your magic pure again, as the Titan intended!", Nechros preached before a previous Golden Guard and a previous Platinum Guard, presumably different ones from the last, appeared next to Nechros, a yellow glow emitting from their fingers.
The crowd extended their arms outwards, and the previous guards used their fingers to brand a coven sigil onto each of them, representing all nine covens.
"Welcome, to your new covens!", Nechros spoke.
The horned witch looked down at the sigil branded onto her wrist with pride. But suddenly, lines started to come out of it, spreading throughout her entire body as she exclaimed in pain and panic. Her eyes glowed, and soon, the other eight group members suffered the same effect as they all dropped one by one to the ground, becoming unconscious. This whole scene left Lincoln gasping in horror for them. The previous guards knelt down next to the horned witch and checked her pulse.
"They're... still alive.", the previous golden guard said.
"The sigils didn't work.", the previous platinum guard added.
"Then we still have some work to do. Gather the Palismen.", Nechros ordered before the two previous guards brought two staffs to Nechros, who snatched one of the Palisman off its staff and crushed it before walking away.
The horned witch gasped softly and the previous guards turned around to look at her writhing in pain.
"I'm so sorry...", the previous golden guard apologized.before they walked away.
Luz, Lincoln and Hunter were standing behind large bolder, Hunter was having a tense expression on his faces, and Belos looking at the of the witches and then Hunter in sadness and concern just as the group of 9's children arrived only to be horrified and scared of what was happening to them.
"Mommy...? Are you okay?", one child asked, but she got no response.
"Mommy...? Mommy...! Mommy, please wake up...!", the child said, starting to get distressed.
"So, this is how it happened...", Belos said sadly.
"That was... horrible.", luz gasped.
Then, outside the memory, Kid Nechros jumped out of the painting while laughing with Hunter then coming out from it and running off as Belos, Luz, and Lincoln emerged from the painting shortly after.
Just then, hunter noticed Kid Nechros emerging from behind a tree while laughing as did Luz,Lincoln,and Belos.
"There he is again!", Lincoln shouted, pointing to him.
"You! Get back here!", Hunter shouted to Kid Nechros.
He rushed towards Kid Nechros, but before they could catch him, Kid Nechros suddenly stopped and turned around. The sound of Inner Nechros screeching was then heard from behind Hunter, prompting them to turn around.
"Huh?", Luz puzzled as she and Amity turned around to see a tall, lanky, skeletal Inner Nechros approaching her, Lincoln, and Hunter.
It then screeched at the four, causing half of the group to scream in fear and immediately start running away, before it can catch them, especially while following Kid Nechros to another painting.
"Guys, wait! The monster doesn't want to hurt us!", Lincoln urged before the monster's shadow loomed over Lincoln, who turned around to see the monster slowly approaching him, and Belos, who were horrified by the sight of the monster as some of it resembled Palismen.
"Could it be...?",What has Nechros done...?!", belos asked, shocked.
"Dad! Lincoln !", Luz shouted before Belos, and Lincoln looked to Luz, who extended her hand to Lincoln, who took it and extended it to Belos, who took it.
Luz then dragged the two into another memory of Nechros'. Part of Inner Nechros' skull came through the painting, sniffed around, and then left. Both Luz, and Hunter let out a sigh of relief. Then, Kid Nechros pushed Luz's arm away and then ran forward to pick up empty glass bottles from the ground and put them into his sack. Lincoln spoke to Luz.
"Luz, that monster wasn't trying to get us. It was trying to warn us.", Lincoln said.
"Warn us about whaaaaaaaaaa?!", Luz exclaimed, shocked as she turned to see a copy of the gate of truth has been built with luz just as shocked, letting out a gasp.
the gate of truth luz said horrified.
"I can hear you.", Nechros spoke up, making Luz, Lincoln, and hunter gasp in worry from hearing this while Belos glared.
Not far away, Nechros walked towards the portal, but then stopped and looked back. From somewhere behind the four, someone started laughing mischievously, prompting them to turn around and look up at a tree behind them. A pair of glowing eyes then appeared from the darkness within the tree branches. It was the overlord.
"the Overlord?!", Luz spoke.
"You know him? When and how?!", Lincoln asked.
"he was in a vision i had.", Luz responded.
"I know!", the overlord spoke, emerging from behind a tree branch in abstract form, moving around the room until eventually reaching the portal.
"What can I do for you, overlord?", Nechros asked..
"Contact the krang.", Nechros spoke.
Nechros was working the controls for a new portal to act more as a communicator while the image started appearing on the eye on the portal door.
"here?", Nechros said before a holographic image of krang prime popped up.
"hello one known as Nechros?!", krang prime said.
"Hello, krang Prime.", Nechros greeted.
"You know, I gotta ask. Is the Draining Spell ready yet? I want to mutant all life on the Boiling Isles so we can then start an invasion of Earth already krang prime said.
Then a projection of sinestro and cyborg Superman flew, much to the 4's surprise. Nechros turned to krang prime.
"I'll have to call you back.", Nechros spoke before the image on the eye disappeared with sinestro and cyborg superman going up the stairs toward Nechros, who was standing in front of the portal.
"nechros, We did it.", Heather pleaded.
"we got the dark energon from megatron, sinestro said lifting ten large cube of dark energon.
Very quickly, Nechros immediately snatched the key away from Hunter's hand. He then held up the key to take a closer look, and saw some Titan's Blood leaking out of it.
"it can neutralize magic-", Past cyborg superman began.
But Nechros didn't seem to be in the mood to listen.
"thanks for accomplished your mission Leave. Now.", Nechros ordered sternly.As they left, the sounds of their footsteps became further away.
then they left the memory.Luz,Lincoln, Belos, and hunter could only watch in worry. And what's worse, they became horrified as to where the mask landed. It was near one of Nechros' memories, except this one had multiple broken Golden Guard masks on the ground. There were also some paintings on the trees depicting what happened to the previous Golden Guards. A moment afterward.
Luz,Lincoln, Belos, and hunter overheard the golden Guard mask getting broken and turning around to see him before seeing the source of sound. Behind them, Kid Nechros was standing in a circle made out of rope and surrounded by multiple arrows and bottles of liquids. He laid down hunter's old fractured mask into the fire.
"Hey! Stop that!", Luz shouted, running towards Kid Nechros and dragging him away from the fire while Amity then proceeded to stomp out the fire.
"Why would he do that?", Luz puzzled.
Lincoln gasped in horrific realization before something floated past hunter's feet,
Then, multiple strands of this unknown substance floated towards the rope circle and then formed into Inner Nechros, who proceeded to start screeching loudly. Luz, Lincoln, Belos and hunter looked at it in shock as it stomped on the ground, its body appearing to be made of dozens of small, screaming, animal-like and Shiwen figures with rinnegan.
"I never knew he consumed this many...", Belos spoke in horror.
"Get away from him! Danger! Danger! Run!", the "Inner Nechros" pleaded.
"Oh, no...!", Lincoln gasped, shocked.
"Are those... Palismen and Apollo's people...?!", Luz asked in horrific realization.
"We weren't running from the Inner Nechros...!"He was with us, the whole time.", hunter realized. looking back at Kid Nechros, whose cries turned into a maniacal laughter as he took out a wooden sword and struck the rope on the ground, transferring some sort of energy into the circle where the monster figure was.
This activated it and launched the bottles onto the figure. The rope then tightened around the figure, causing it to crash to the ground. Luz,Lincoln, Belos, and hunter turned around to look at Kid Nechros, who proceeded to transform himself into Adult Inner Nechros.
"I should've known it was you all along, Nechros...!", Belos glared.
"Hello, Hunter, Hello, Luz,Lincoln, And, of course, hello to you..., brother.", the real Inner Nechros greeted, making Belos glare at him further.
Luz, Lincoln, Belos and hunter were looking at Inner Nechros angrily.
"Ah. I was finally able to catch it. This thing's been a thorn in my side for years. All these weepy Palismen and alien souls... Their voices constantly nagging me. Vile. But without them, I wouldn't be able to do this.", Inner Nechros spoke as he walked toward the figure, put his hand on it, turned it to dust, grabbed a Palisman from the pile, transformed his left arm into some sort of goo, and then crushed the Palisman and took out a rinnegan out a Shiwen headed.
hunter became shocked and angry as Inner Nechros did this in front of them.
"Ah... I'm feeling better already. Thank you for distracting it.", Inner Nechros spoke.
"What did you do to the other guards...? To our family?!", hunter shouted, on the verge of crying.
you may have my son soul and memories, but you just another copy.", Inner Nechros exhaled as he flicked hunter's hair.
"What...?", Hunter puzzled.
Just then, hunter suddenly began getting dragged down into the ground.
"hunter!", luz and Lincoln shouted.
Then, Luz took off her jacket and tossed it toward hunter for hunter to grab on, but they still got dragged downwards.
"No, no, no!", Luz shouted in worry before she and Lincoln grabbed onto her jacket trying to pull hunter out, but she and Lincoln got dragged towards them instead.
This urged Belos to latch his gooey arm toward Luz's waist to help her and Lincoln lift up hunter
"You're going to make it. You'll both make it out of this. Just... hang on!", Belos grunted.
However, despite Belos, Luz, and Lincoln's best efforts, hunter still got sucked into the ground along with Luz's jacket. Luz and Lincoln fell towards the ground and landed on their knees and elbows with Leif forced to let go of the wall and land on Amity.
i want to show you something nechros said. Then, the picture frame showed the moment when ego taught Philip, the shadow clone justsy.
"Astounding!", Philip grinned excitedly.
Then, it showed the moment when Philip summoned the overlord after putting on the oni mask.
"I just need to live long enough to see this through.", philip/Nechros spoke.
Belos, seeing this, only turned his head sadly in shame before Luz fell into complete denial about this.
"No, no, no! You're Nechros! You're just Nechros!", Luz shouted, breaking down in tears, grabbing onto her hair, and then dropping to her knees.
"Neither of you deserve any forgiveness. Not from the other witches should they find out.", the overlord discouraged.
"Please, do me a kindness, and call me by my real name.", Inner Nechros stated.
"i... can't.", Luz spoke weakly.
"I know why. Because if you do, you'll only confirm what you both fear the most. All of this would never have happened were it not for you two. The promise day would've been nothing more than the day of the eclipse, every single witch wouldn't have to die, and your worlds surely would've been spared our wrath.", Overlord discouraged.
luz her head and looked up at Inner Nechros with a morose expression on their faces, blocking the view of the picture frame.
"Ah... So, it's finally sinking in for you. Everywhere you go, people only end up suffering. You two were just pawns in our game and neither of you were smart enough to realize this. At this point if anyone ever found out the truth, they will despise, curse, chastise, and exile you from your home. Some of them might even have half a mind to ensure you never existed in the first place.", overlord sneered as he stepped closer toward Luz, who fearfully backed away from him and Nechros, who was stepping closer to them before they slid down a slope and landed on their faces.
Luz and Lincoln stood up as Inner Nechros approached them and morphed into Philip .
"Perhaps we were destined to meet.", Philip said before walking away.
"And what about hunter? Lincoln asked.
Then, Philip morphed back into Inner Nechros.
"They're... descendants of a couple of old friends. But, thanks to you, I'll have to make more Grimwalkers.", Inner Nechros responded.
"Was that what those other guards were? Dead clones of me that you killed?!", Belos asked angrily.
"But... why? Why go through all this?", Lincoln asked before the Inner Nechros held the two halves of Sophia's mask, holding them triumphantly.
"I'll do anything to save humanity from evil.", Nechros smirked.
But Luz and Lincoln only slowly shook their heads.
"No. YOU'RE evil!", Luz argued.
"I am The End. And we have come for you, Luz. Isn't that right,my new daughter?", overlord asked.
"What? New Daughter? What does that me...?", Luz puzzled as the Obsidian Guard walked up from behind Luz and Lincoln right before grabbing them and lurching them away to the side.
From there, the Obsidian Guard fired multiple blasts from her staff, which ricocheted off every possible area, although none of them hit Luz and Lincoln nor the paintings as Luz and Lincoln only snaked past them, the latter even using an abomination shield to guard against them and deflect one of them away with the Obsidian Guard reappearing behind Luz and Lincoln and then flicking them away.
This prompted Lincoln to coat their abomination-like hands with more layers to bulk it up, even adding spiked claws to his knuckles while Luz transformed into her super sayian and tailed beast chakra cloak form before punching her back and then making a big spell circle and maneuvering it behind the Obsidian Guard, who turned around in time to see a big ghost-like abomination, although she only stood her ground firmly before she was trapped by said abomination as Luz and Lincoln then made their egress only for the abomination to fail to keep the obsidian guard contained.
However, the ground spiked up from behind, knocking both Luz and Lincoln into the air before out burst a giant, green worm monster with a sort of man-like face before it swallowed them. They only responded by summoning ice spikes with a grunt, encasing it into ice and breaking it, allowing them to escape and slide down into the ground safely.
But then, the Obsidian Guard reappeared and then summoned arms from below, binding and trapping Luz and Lincoln while the Obsidian Guard stepped forward to them.
"I thought you would've asked by now. Don't you want to know the identity of the Obsidian Guard?", Overlord asked.
"What?", Luz puzzled.
"What have you done to her, overlord?! Answer me!", belos demanded.
"Why bother telling you when I can show you?", overlord replied.
Then, right on cue, another picture frame turned up, only it showed her walking up to Camila, who was just regaining consciousness to see Nechros.
"Ah, Camila. Good to see you're up and about. We need you awake for what we have in mind.", Past Nechros spoke.
"What are you going to do with me?", Camila asked.
"Actually, it's not just me. I have someone very special with me. In fact, this could be the most opportune time for a family reunion.", Past Nechros spoke before stepping back to show the dark energem, who had materialized in his corporeal form, much to her horror.
"the dark energem!", Past Camila shouted in shock.
"As much as I would like to destroy you, I found it better to break you.", Past nechros sneered before levitating the dark energem to Camila's forehead making her scream in agony, much to Luz's, Lincoln's, and Belos' horror.
"Mama! No!", Luz shouted before Nechros spoke up next as the frame then showed Camila's transformation into the Obsidian Guard via plates of armor being magnetized to her due to the lightning.
"You see, there are ancient races that have perfected the art of torture over the centuries. We simply enhanced it with more...sophisticated methods. We tortured her physically day in and day out for weeks, just like you're seeing right now. As we broke down her body, we went to work on the mind. When her mind broke, we went to work on her soul.", Nechros spoke.
"We rebuilt what was left of her, twisting her to our purposes. The perfect weapon to use against all of life.", the overlord sneered.
Hearing this, Luz teared up and broke down in sobs, Luz even more so as she fell on her knees, much to Lincoln and Belos' sadness for her.
"Luz...!", belos spoke sadly.
Meanwhile in the in-between realm.
Camila was there, bound in chains and forced to watch as her cherished daughter cried her heart out.
"Please,..., luz... Run! There's no time to cry for me!", Camila urged, shedding a tear.
"I know the truth hurts...", nechros said, making luz, Belos, and Lincoln glare angrily at him as the latter even growled.
"...but the sting from the truth will not hurt for much longer. Because now, it's time for your education.", Melkor threatened, the Obsidian Guard holding out her index finger, which gave off a black and red lightning, making Lincoln gasp in worry as Luz looked up with a whimpering face.
Meanwhile
at the living room of the Owl House, kim had the same whimpering face, as did amity and Apollo as Eda used a dropper to put a drop of liquid into another liquid inside a flask, but the reaction caused an eruption of gas.
"Bones, dirt, and muck! I don't have time to fail!", Eda shouted as she frustratedly threw her flask onto the ground and broke it, knocking over her book stand afterwards.
Someone suddenly knocked on the door, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Who's that?", maria asked.
She peeped outside and saw dr.fate.
"Pardon the interruption, but there are some strange hooded figures just outside the house. Or rather, there were. They left something behind on the porch.", Daggertail reported.
"Inopportune interruption, eh? I'll handle this.", Hooty spoke, deepening his voice as he lowered his shades to the point his eyes are covered before retracting outside with Eda picking up the book stand she just knocked over.
"Guys? Tell me it's... gonna be okay.", King said worriedly.
However, neither Eda, Lilith, rj,chris, Melissa,Emily, lucy replied and only looked at him with a worried expression.
"Fellas!", Hooty called.
"What is it, Hootsifer?", Lilith asked before Hooty came back in with a bouquet of flowers in his mouth.
"Special delivery from a secret admirer!", Hooty spoke before putting the flowers inside a glass vase.
"Hooty, that thing could be booby-trapped. Get it outta here.", Eda urged.
But before he could, the flowers suddenly started floating and glowing, surprising Hooty. The flowers then wilted, causing the petals to drop and the contents wrapped inside it to dissolve in the vase, creating a yellow liquid.
"Wait a minute... Mom, can you check the note?", maria asked before Eda picked up the note that came with the flowers and read it, making her gasp.
"It's the teleportation potion into the mindscape! But who would...", Eda began before walking over to the window and looking outside in time to see someone disappear behind a rock.
"Figure it out later. Now we can save Luz,hunter and Lincoln!", deon urged.
"Hold up. It says it still needs a power source. And a big one.", Eda stated, reading the note.

Back inside the mindscape.
Luz and Lincoln were wailing, too, but in extreme agony as they were being zapped with black and red lightning by the Obsidian Guard as Melkor laughed victoriously just as Luz inadvertently dropped her walkie-talkie.
"Stop this, my love! Please!", "This isn't you! Fight, Camila! Fight!", belos pleaded.
the Obsidian Guard finished torturing Luz and Amity as Melkor chuckled.
"Finally broken, aren't you, child?", Overlord asked as Luz could only look up weakly, shedding tears.
"Please, Luz! Get away from me! I beg you!", Camila pleaded helplessly.
"Good. Now, we can put you out of your misery. Camila, prepare to strike.", overlord sneered before the Obsidian Guard prepared an chakra blade, much to Luz's despair.
"Luz, if you and Lincoln are still alive, we're gonna start the countdown. Are you ready?", Nathan asked.
"Mama..., No...!", Luz sobbed.
"Please, Mija! Run away from me while you still can!", Camila shouted with a sob.
"Remember this as your last living thought: everything that has transpired is all your fault. Kill!", nechros demanded before the Obsidian Guard began lowering her spike towards Luz.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", Luz shouted, not only knocking the Obsidian Guard back before she could kill her and Lincoln , but also causing overlord to spazz and make bizarre noises as he is convulsing in pain.When the former opened her eyes, she was shocked to find the Obsidian Guard knocked back and nechros convulsing in agony, much to Amity and Belos' surprise.
"Luz... Did you do that?", Lincoln asked.
"Uh, I think so...? I don't even know how I did it.", Luz puzzled.
However, the Obsidian Guard recovered and was about to strike again. Before she could, though, a black -clawed hand burst from the ground and clutched onto the ground before, much to Luz,Lincoln, and Belos' amazement, hunter rose from the ground, but not on her own. As soon as she got up, along with Eda's letterman jacket, out as well.
"hunter!", Luz shouted in unison, morphing back into her witch form.
Eda's voice spoke through the walkie talkie. "They're not answering! Luz? Lincoln!"Hunter!"
Lincoln then put on the mask.
"Luz,Lincoln ,hunter we're gonna start the countdown. Are you ready?"
Philip shook his head. "Can't reason with crazy."
He turned his arm into a scythe and was about to cut Luz in half when Lincoln suddenly fired the bazooka. Philip smirked. "You missed."
"I didn't."Lincoln said as The rocket hit some of the paintings, destroying them. Philip let out a scream as he grabbed his head and his form began to flicker between Philip and nechros and the palisman monster. "DIE! DIE! DIE!"
"Five...
Lincoln tore the Mask off, and hunter spread black carbon wings and grabbed Luz and Lincoln.
"...four..."
belos then vanished.
"...three..."
The kids flew above the rampaging Phillip/nechros monster as the place began to burn. It let out a roar of unbridled hatred, "URRRRRYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
"...two..."
They crash landed to the ground a safe distance away from the monster.
"...one."
Luz grabbed the walkie talkie and screamed, "NOW, Eda! PLEASE NOW! PLEASE NOW!"
MEANWHILE
Meanwhile, a burst of light enveloped Luz,Lincoln , and hunter emerged in a puff of smoke while Belos appeared near them the same way they did before.
"Luz! Hunter! Lincoln You're both okay!", Eda shouted, dashing toward them before hugging them.
then Flapjack flew over to hunter.
Im okay buddy hunter said.
"What the heck happened in there?", King asked before Luz and Lincoln's expression worsened as they looked back toward the others regretfully, tears forming in their eyes.
"Kids, what did you see?", Eda asked.
Luz tried to give an answer, but she couldn't, too guilty to answer, especially thanks to what nechros said to her and Lincoln . So, instead, she only broke down and sobbed on her knees and hands with everyone going to comfort her.
"Poor Luz...", hunter spoke sadly.
"We'll help comfort her.", kim urged to hunter, who nodded.
"And take this with you. It will help you feel better.", rj spoke, handing some tea to hunter .
"Thank you.", hunter thanked as he drinked the tea that his aunt gave him.
Eda saw Luz's expression worsened as she looked back toward the others regretfully, tears forming in her eyes.
