Title: Anniversary
Rain, like that night a year ago. Silver cuffs buzzing on his left ear. Reminders of why he sought death that night. Kanan. Humanity. Happiness. All lost to him at once, soaked in blood.
No, not lost. Kanan was taken. His humanity forfeited. Happiness…
A hand on his shoulder roused Hakkai from his somber thoughts.
"No point goin' out," Gojyo said. "How about a game of poker?"
Hakkai turned from the rain to see the red hair of the man who saved his life and, more importantly, taught him that if you tried you could always find a little happiness.
