Chapter 34: Galaxy Rangers
1010 BC - Morphing Grid
The Morphing Masters are observing the Land Without Magic
"Scorpius and Captain Mutiny are waging a campaign against Mirinoi" the Red Morphing Master said
"They are putting up a valiant effort for such a primitive society" the Blue Morphing Master said "but they are no match for Scorpius's and Mutiny's technology"
"Then how about we give them something to give them a chance" the Green Morphing Master said
"Yes, let's" the Pink Morphing Master said. The Red, Blue, Green, Gold, and Pink Morphing Masters forge five swords.
"Emissaries" the Red Morphing Master said and the Red, Blue, and Yellow Emissaries appear "deliver the Quasar Sabers to five individuals on Mirinoi to aid them in their battle against Scorpius and Captain Mutiny"
"By your command" the Red Emissary said
Mirinoi - Land Without Magic
Five warriors are all that remain to defend a village against a massive army of Stingwingers and Swabbies.
"We can't let them get to the village" a man in red said
"I don't see how we can defeat them" another man in blue said
"We will give you the tools you need to stop them" a voice said and they turn to see the Emissaries Three
"These are the Quasar Sabers" the Red Emissary said as the Emissaries hand out the swords "they will give you the ability to become Power Rangers and stop Scorpius's and Captain Mutiny's forces"
"And these will allow you to control the transformation" the Blue Emissary said and waves his hands and a pair of devices appear on each warrior's wrists "Call out 'Go Galactic' and insert the key from one device into the other. You will know what to do from there" and the Emissaries vanish
"Well, you heard them, let's do this" Ryouma said "GO GALACTIC!"
"GALAXY GREEN!" Hayate said
"GALAXY YELLOW!" Hikaru said
"GALAXY PINK!" Saya said
"GALAXY BLUE!" Gouki said
"GALAXY RED!" Ryouma said
"Quasar Sabers!" the Red Ranger said and they defend their village from the Stingwingers and Swabbies
Morphing Grid
"So you made them Morphers based off of ours?" the Red Emissary asked the Blue Emissary
"They needed Morphers to control their Powers" the Blue Emissary said "the Morphing Masters didn't create them and the people of Mirinoi don't have the resources to make them themselves, so I had to make them myself.
Mirinoi - Land Without Magic
After several months of fighting Scorpius's and Captain Mutiny's forces, the Galaxy Rangers manage to push them back deep into the forest, away from any of the villages
"We need to find a way to defeat the Galaxy Rangers" Mutiny said "no matter how many monsters we throw at them, they always manage to destroy them"
"If we could get their Quasar Sabers from them, we could both deprive them of their Power and give ourselves even more" Scorpius said
"True" Mutiny said "but how do you suppose we do that?"
"Captain" Mutiny's alchemist, Hexuba said "I have managed to create a potion that should grant us the edge we need. It should allow us to make our monsters grow…"
Later, the Galaxy Rangers use their Quasar Launchers to destroy a monster called Gaaragaara. All of a sudden, a potion falls from the sky and lands on the monster's remains. The monster is revived as a giant
"That's not good" the Yellow Ranger said "… what do we do now?"
All of a sudden, a giant green condor swoops in and attacks the monster. A red lion, a blue gorilla, a yellow wolf, and a pink wildcat, all of them giant" emerge from the forest and attack the monster. Then a giant red rhino emerges from the forest and joins the attack, followed by an aerial attack from a giant blue phoenix. The a giant blue shark emerges from a nearby lake and attacks the monster as well.
"What are those?" the Red Ranger asked
"Those are the Galactabeasts" a voice said and they turn to see the Blue Emissary "there are only nine in existence. They will aid you in protecting Mirinoi. I managed to create five Transdaggers to help you provide them a power boost"
"But there are more than five of them" the Red Ranger said
"I know" the Blue Emissary said "but there are only five of you and you cannot handle more than one at a time. Choose your Galactabeast wisely"
"LION GALACTABEAST!" the Red Ranger said
"GORILLA GALACTABEAST!" the Blue Ranger said
"CONDOR GALACTABEAST!" the Green Ranger said
"WOLF GALACTABEAST!" the Yellow Ranger said
"WILDCAT GALACTABEAST!" the Pink Ranger said as they each jumped on top of their chosen Galactabeast
"ZORD TRANSFORM NOW!" the Red Ranger said as they used their Transdaggers "LION GALACTAZORD!"
"GORILLA GALACTAZORD!" the Blue Ranger said
"CONDOR GALACTAZORD!" the Green Ranger said
"WOLF GALACTAZORD!" the Yellow Ranger said
"WILDCAT GALACTAZORD!" the Pink Ranger said and the Galactabeasts transform into the Galactazords. The five Galactazords fight alongside the three Galactabeasts, but can't quite manage to defeat them
"GALAXY MEGAZORD: ONLINE!" the Red Ranger said and the five Galactazords combine "Galaxy Megazord Saber!" and they fight the monster
"Condor Missile!" the Green Ranger said
"FIRE!" the Galaxy Rangers said and the blast destroyed the monster. The Rangers eject from the Megazord, which separates into the Galactazords, which then transform back into the Galactabeasts.
"You did well in your first Zord fight" the Blue Emissary said "Scorpius and Captain Mutiny will retreat from attacking this planet, as they will find it not worth the trouble"
"Then we won?" the Green Ranger asked
"Partially" the Blue Emissary said "but they will attack another planet. The Galactabeasts can travel through space. Use them to pursue Scorpius and Captain Mutiny. Don't let other planets fall just because yours is safe. Until next time, may the Power protect you…"
"Wait" the Pink Ranger said "you said there were nine Galactabeasts, we only have eight"
"There is another Galactabeast, a giant black bull" the Blue Emissary said "I do not know where it is, but it is not on Mirinoi. If you find it, it will be a great addition to your team" and the Blue Emissary leaves
"Power Down" the Red Ranger said and they demorph.
"I need some paper" Saya said
"What for?" Ryouma asked
"We need to write everything we discover down so we don't forget it" Saya said
"You're writing a book?" Ryouma asked
"Yes" Saya said "and since we're the Galaxy Rangers, I'm gonna call it… the Galaxy Book"
1009 BC - Magna
"Magna should prove an excellent place to attack" Captain Mutiny said to Scorpius "the Galaxy Rangers are distracted with our forces on the other side of the galaxy, they won't be able to get here in time"
"You finally came up with a good plan, Captain" Scorpius said
"Hey!" Mutiny exclaimed
Morphing Grid
"Magna is under attack and the Galaxy Rangers won't make it in time" the Green Morphing Master said
"I will forge another Ranger to aid them" the Black Morphing Master said and he creates another sword, not the same as the Quasar Sabers, but similar "Emissaries"
"Yes" the Emissaries Three said as they appear
"Deliver this to one you deem worthy" the Black Morphing Master said
Magna - Land Without Magic
Only one warrior left stands against the onslaught of Stingwingers and Swabbies
"I will defend Magna until my dying breathe" the warrior said
"This is your dying breathe" a monster said as it appears and the warrior knew the monster was right, he can't defeat a monster
"Not quite" a voice said and they turn to see the Blue Emissary, who sends a blast, destroying many of the foot soldiers and knocking the monster back
"Who are you?" the warrior asked
"No one that matters" the Blue Emissary said "is your name really Magnus… isn't that a little on the nose for someone living on a planet called Magna?"
"It's a family name" Magnus said
"Of course it is" the Blue Emissary said "Magnus, you have been chosen to defend Magna. This sword and this Morpher will help you" and Morphers identical to the Galaxy Ranger's ones appear on his wrists as a sword appears in his hands "say 'Magna Power' and you will know what to do from there"
"MAGNA POWER!" Magnus said "MAGNA DEFENDER!" and he fights off the Stingwingers and Swabbies with his Magna Sword
"A Ranger, no one said anything about there being a Ranger!" the monster exclaimed as he attacked the Magna Defender. The Magna Defender energizes his sword and slashes through the monster, destroying it. A potion falls from the sky and the monster grows
"Ah, it's now time for me to show you my pet" and he summons a giant bull, and rides him, controlling him with chains
"What now?" the Magna Defender asked the Blue Emissary
"That is the Bull Galactabeast!" the Blue Emissary said "he's in rough shape, but if we can free him, he should help you out"
The Magna Defender jumps on the Bull Galactabeast and cuts the chains. The Bull Galactabeast knocks the monster off
"You'll pay for that" the monster said and the Bull Galactabeast charges him. The monster slashes the Bull Galactabeast with his sword, injuring him further
"Can you help him?" the Magna Defender asked the Blue Emissary
"I can…" a voice said as the Black Emissary appears "but he'll never be the same"
"Do it, he'll die otherwise" the Magna Defender said and the Black Emissary shoots Grid Energy directly at the Bull Galactabeast, transforming him into a more robotic form, similar to the Galactazords "he's no longer the Bull Galactabeast, he is now the Torozord"
The Torozord charges the monster and smashes into him with his horns. He then goes over to the Magna Defender and shoots energy at him, making him grow giant. The Mega Defender then rides Torozord and knocks the monster over
"DEFENDER TOROZORD!" the Mega Defender said and he combines with Torozord "Defender Lance!" and he uses the Defender Lance to destroy the monster and he separates from Torozord and shrinks down as the Galaxy Rangers appear
"Who are you?" the Red Galaxy Ranger asked
"I'm the Magna Defender" the Magna Defender said
"What's your name?" the Pink Galaxy Ranger asked
"Magnus" the Magna Defender said
"I'm Saya" the Pink Galaxy Ranger said
Aboard Captain Mutiny's ship, Scorpius and Captain Mutiny look over the situation.
"And now there's another one" Scorpius said
"What do we do now?" Mutiny asked
"Divide and conquer" Scorpius said "I'll leave one my generals here to campaign against Magnus while we attack other planets. See if the Galaxy Rangers and this… Magna Defender can each handle their own"
"They did today" Mutiny pointed out
"Yes, but we didn't send our best forces to attack Magna today, as were weren't expecting any Rangers" Scorpius said "next time we'll send out a powerful monster while the Galaxy Rangers are away and see if the Magna Defender can truly defend Magna… Treacheron prepare to wage war again Magna"
1005 BC - Morphing Grid
The Morphing Masters look over the Land Without Magic
"The Galaxy Rangers have done well" the Red Morphing Master said
"As has the Magna Defender" the Black Morphing Master said "he's taken on the worst Treacheron could throw at him… often on his own"
"It looks like Hades has released another demon" the Green Morphing Master said "the Galaxy Rangers and Magna Defender are going to run straight into it. Even together, their Powers won't be enough"
"What do you suggest, Green?" the Red Morphing Master asked
"Give them an extra boost of energy" the Green Morphing Master said
"We've given them plenty" the Black Morphing Master said
"I haven't" the Gold Morphing Master said and he generates a ball of pure Grid Energy "Emissaries, please deliver this to the Galaxy Rangers. It should give the Galaxy Rangers an extra boost of Power and give the Magna Defender an edge of fighting demons"
Mirinoi - Land Without Magic
"Rangers" the Blue Emissary said as he appears in the middle of a battle between the Galaxy Rangers (including the Magna Defender) and the demon "I have something to give you a boost of energy" and a ball of light appears "these are the Lights of Orion, place your hand inside the Lights" and they do. The five main Galaxy Rangers gain armor while the Magna Defender is completely transformed. They battle the demon, landing powerful blows against it
"Lights of Orion, powered-up mode!" the Red Ranger said and all six Rangers unite into a ball of energy that then rips through the demon, destroying it
Blue fire swirls around the demon's remains as Hades causes the demon to revive and grow. The Magna Defender loses his Lights of Orion mode
"What's going on?" the Magna Defender asked
"I'll explain after the battle" the Blue Emissary said
"GALACTABEASTS, ARISE!" the Red Ranger said
"TOROZORD, CHARGE!" the Magna Defender said
"LION GALACTABEAST!" the Red Ranger said
"GORILLA GALACTABEAST!" the Blue Ranger said
"CONDOR GALACTABEAST!" the Green Ranger said
"WOLF GALACTABEAST!" the Yellow Ranger said
"WILDCAT GALACTABEAST!" the Pink Ranger said as they each jumped on top of their chosen Galactabeast
"ZORD TRANSFORM NOW!" the Red Ranger said as they used their Transdaggers "LION GALACTAZORD!"
"GORILLA GALACTAZORD!" the Blue Ranger said
"CONDOR GALACTAZORD!" the Green Ranger said
"WOLF GALACTAZORD!" the Yellow Ranger said
"WILDCAT GALACTAZORD!" the Pink Ranger said
"MEGA DEFENDER!" the Magna Defender said
"GALAXY MEGAZORD: ONLINE!" the Red Ranger said
"DEFENDER TOROZORD!" the Mega Defender said and the two Megazords were formed
"GALAXY MEGAZORD: POWERED UP MODE!" the Red Ranger said the Galaxy Megazord gained it's own Lights of Orion armor "GALAXY MEGAZORD: SABER!"
"DEFENDER LANCE!" the Defender Torozord said and the two attacks destroy the demon
Later, the Blue Emissary gives the Rangers additional information about the Lights of Orion
"The Lights of Orion will only work when the five Galaxy Rangers are present" the Blue Emissary said
"What about me?" Magnus asked
"You do not need to be present for them to call upon the Lights" the Blue Emissary said "nor do they need to be present for you to call upon the Lights. Concentrate on summoning the Lights" and Magnus does and one his Morphers turns white and a key appears in his hand "if you use this key with your Morpher you will directly enter the Lights of Orion mode. Which, unlike the other Rangers, is not a powered up form of the Magna Defender, but rather another Ranger Power altogether, called the Demon Hunter. As the name implies, it is optimized in fighting demons. The demon you fought today was sent by Hades. He's most likely upset Queen Bansheera was sealed away and is now finally deciding to do something about it, so this won't be the last demon you face. You must no longer just defend Magna, you must also hunt demons"
1000 BC - Mirinoi
The Galaxy Rangers defend Mirinoi from a massive assault by Captain Mutiny. The Lights of Orion Galaxy Megazord and Defender Torozord, along with the Rhino, Phoenix, and Shark Galactabeasts all battle Captain Mutiny's massive monster, Titanisaur, which had Mutiny's castle on it's back
"GALAXY MEGAZORD: SABER!" the Red Ranger said
"DEFENDER LANCE!" the Defender Torozord said and the two Megazords do their finishers, but they simply bounce off the Titanisaur.
"Ryouma" the Defender Torozord said "I don't think we can beat the Titanisaur"
"We can't give up" the Red Ranger said
"Ryouma" the Pink Ranger said "I think I have an idea, the Keonta Spell"
"The spell we found a few years back and you put in your Galaxy Book?" the Red Ranger asked
"That's the one" the Pink Ranger said
"That spell sounded dangerous" the Defender Torozord said "and besides, we're in a Land Without Magic how are you going to cast the spell?"
"We should be able to channel it through our Quasar Sabers" the Pink Ranger said
"I say it's too dangerous" the Defender Torozord said
"It's your call, Ryouma" the Pink Ranger said as the Galaxy Megazord takes another hit
"I don't think we have a choice" the Red Ranger said "do it, Saya"
"Alright, everyone grab onto your Quasar Sabers and concentrate" the Pink Ranger said
Keonta, Karova, Melanite, Hakova
A thousand nightmares will soon come true
Space will twist, then rip in two
Reality ends, time is tossed, as galaxies found become galaxies lost
All of a sudden a massive portal ripped open into reality itself, sucking the Titanisaur, the castle, and Captain Mutiny and his crew in. The portal the collapses on itself and causes a massive explosion the knocks the Megazords apart and sends the Rangers flying
Later, Magnus wakes up, with nothing but his Morpher and Torozord by his side
"What happened?" Magnus asked
"The Pink Ranger channeled a dangerous spell through the Morphing Grid itself" the Blue Emissary said "it successfully trapped Captain Mutiny and his crew in a new dimension… along with most planets in this galaxy, with only Mirinoi and Magna being spared"
"So it worked?" Magnus asked
"Yes, but magic always comes with a price" the Blue Emissary said "the Rangers' Galactabeasts are spread all over the universe. The Rhino, Phoenix, and Shark Galactabeasts were gravely injured from the attack and are now lost. The Ranger's Morphers were destroyed and many of their weapons are scattered throughout the universe, although I managed to save the Quasar Sabers and the Lights of Orion. The Rangers themselves were killed in the explosion"
"No…" Magnus said
"I'm sorry" the Blue Emissary said "I will hide the Quasar Sabers and seal them away so only the chosen few may take them. I give the Lights of Orion to protect as you see fit. May the Power protect you… and I'm sorry" and he vanishes after handing the Lights to Magnus
"These Lights didn't protect my friends" Magnus said "so I'm not going to rely on them to protect me" and he uses the Lights of Orion to draw out the Lights that were still within him "you Lights have always seemed to have some sort of sentience, find someone worthy of your Powers!" and he releases the Lights
Magna
Magnus returns home to find it under complete siege from Scorpius
"MAGNA POWER!" Magnus said "MAGNA DEFENDER!" as he approaches three monsters stealing someone's jewels
"Drop the jewels" the Magna Defender said "you won't need them where you're going"
"Oh look who survived Captain Mutiny's final battle" one monster said "it's the Magna Defender"
"It is you who won't survive" the Magna Defender said "Torozord, charge!" and then he sees Scorpius himself approach
"I've been expecting you Magna Defender" Scorpius said "I have something you may be interested in"
"Let go of me!" a boy yells as he's held by a monster "Father, help me!"
"Drop your weapon or your son is doomed!" the monster said
"Zika!" the Magna Defender exclaimed "Let him go, Fishface"
"Drop your weapon, do it now, and call off Torozord" Fishface said and the Magna Defender drops his sword
"Torozord, retreat" the Magna Defender said and the Torozord leaves as monsters attack the Magna Defender
"You leave my Father alone, you big ugly meanie" Zika said
"Zika!" the Magna Defender shouted as he is blasted by Scorpius
"No!" Zika yelled as the Magna Defender falls to the ground
"You won't stop me" Scorpius said "I'll rule the universe"
"Scorpius" the Magna Defender said "leave Zika alone"
"Release the boy" Scorpius said and Fishface releases him
"Don't worry Father, I'll save you" Zika said as he draws a knife and charges Scorpius. Scorpius blasts him and Zika collapses to the ground, dead
"Zika, no!" the Magna Defender screams "get up!" And he cradles his son's body
"Leave him" Scorpius said "there's nothing left of this planet and I don't want him to put him out of his misery" and they teleport away
Hall of Legends
"Rookie mistake" Simultaneous said as the Original Powers watch the events unfolding in the Land Without Magic, who then look at him "look I'm not saying I want the Magna Defender dead… but leaving someone alive right after killing their young son in front of them… that's going to bite you in the butt sooner or later"
"What happened after the Galaxy Rangers cast the Keonta Spell?" Zeus asked
"Most of the galaxy that Mirinoi and Magna are in was sucked away into another dimension" Simultaneous said "it's not necessarily an entirely new realm though… it is still connected to the Land Without Magic in a way. In many ways it is a very large pocket dimension rather than being a realm unto itself. The Quasar Sabers have been sealed into a stone on Mirinoi, using the same spell that Merlin used to seal Excalibur into the Stone in Camelot… I wonder who did that, how they knew the spell, or how they managed to cast it in a Land Without Magic"
"Zordon" Poseidon said
"That's possible" Simultaneous said "no idea how he learned the spell… but he's done lots of things that baffle me"
Mirinoi - Land Without Magic
The Magna Defender returns looking for the Lights of Orion
"They couldn't have gone far" the Magna Defender said "I should have never released them. If I had had them with me I could've save Zika. I will use them to destroy Scorpius once and for all!"
"Not if I find them first" a voice said and he turns to see Treacheron
"Out of the way, Treacheron" the Magna Defender said "my beef is with Scorpius, not you. Leave now and I will spare you"
"Spare me?" Treacheron said "it would be a close match on your best day, but you've been zapped by Scorpius, beaten by several monsters, and just lost your son… you're no match for me"
"We shall see" the Magna Defender said as he draws his sword and they duel. Treacheron manages to injure the Magna Defender and then stabs the ground, causing it to split open and the Magna Defender falls inside. Treacheron then seals the ground
"Goodbye, Magna Defender" Treacheron said
Underworld
Zika wakes up
"What happened?" Zika asked
"You died" a voice said and he turns to see a small group of people
"What about my Father?" Zika asked
"He's not here yet, so he must still be alive" one of the people said
"Who are you?" Zika asked
"We were friends of your Father" the man said "we will take care of you, my name is Ryouma" and Zika went off with his four new guardians
Morphing Grid
"That… could've gone better" the Black Morphing Master said
"Have faith, Black" the Green Morphing Master said "the Galaxy Rangers will rise again, when the time is right, and will defeat Scorpius and Captain Mutiny, once and for all. When the time is right, and the Galaxy Book is found by the chosen ones, we will awake the Guardian and she can guide them to the Lost Galaxy" and they look at the young woman that the Green Morphing Master was preserving…
