Chapter 5: The Attack of Doctor Animo

Ube was headed toward work on a bright sunny morning, looking happy. It had been a week since the Jin fight. Ube couldn't help but think to himself. "Now that I'm helping people, what's my end goal? Just keep stopping gangsters? What else should I do? Problem: Stop fires. Heck, maybe get out of this city; other people might need my help."

While walking down the streets, he noticed posters nailed to power poles. He looked at it and saw an awards ceremony in the middle of town. A science award event celebrating great minds and their work for the world.

Ube had made it to his job and noticed the usually bright red, open neon sign outside the front building was off. The window shutters were shut. Ube thought it was strange it was infrequent for that to happen. He wondered if it was late. He walked through the back alley and opened the back door to his job. He noticed the place was quiet. No one else was there in the kitchen.

Walking through a door, he was about to reach for his apron. A light flicked on in the lobby. Ube looked through the kitchen window that led to the dining area. Ube saw Mr. Shi sitting at a table and pouring tea into his white cup. The old man glanced at Ube with a happy look. He walked into the building with a confused look.

"Mr. Shi, is there any work today?" Ube asked. The older man laughed and waved Ube over. Mr. Shi had a cheerful face.

"I'm sorry, no work today; I just want to talk to you." Mr. Shi said, "Come sit and enjoy some tea."

Ube took a seat and took a sip of the tea. It was Jameson tea, one of his favorites. He looked at the table and saw Mr. Shi calmly holding his hands.

"Did I do something wrong?" Ube asked. Mr. Shi shook his head. "Oh, of course not; I just have something to ask. I know times have seen strange."

The young teen gave a calm nod, saying he was fine. "I'm okay if you're wondering."

Mr. Shi took a long sigh, clapping his hands, and looked worried. "You're going to make me say it."

Ube had never seen this side of Mr. Shi; he would always be so calm and passive. Now, he was tensely walking forward. Ube couldn't tell Mr. Shi, who helped him learn to cook. He remembered seeing the man always make wonderful meals every time he passed the shop on his way to school. Not to mention the one time he saw the man eat mealworms. So Ube would lie.

"Say what? I don't know what you're talking about." Ube lied; the watch had to stay a secret. Mr. Shi's eyes softened, and he put his palms together.

"Ube, I saw you transform into something else; in the alleyway, I peeked out the door and saw you." Mr. Shi calmly said, making sure it was not spooking Ube. "You're not in trouble, but please tell me the truth; I know you better than that."

Ube's jaw dropped, but he was more surprised to see the old man's reaction, which was calm. "I-I-I-I…" He stuttered. There was no point in lying; it was all over. Ube laid his head on the table and hung his arms over his head. "You got me."

The young teen faced Mr. Shi, thinking he would see a disappointed face. Though it never came, as Mr. Shi had a stoic look, he could see it was forced.

"Tell me everything." He asked in a calm voice.

Shin, the waterbending gangster, was walking on the city's south side. Shin took a deep breath. It had been a week since Zolts' death. He'd listened to Jin's words and was now the new boss. In truth, Shin was terrified of what happened. The other members of the gang were looking at him. He was the leader, and Shin didn't know how to be a boss; he knew how to hustle but not lead. At this moment, he was going to find Doctor Aloysius Animo. Shin thought it was a bizarre name. Was he some sort of vet? Shin shook it off and remembered why the boss was getting this guy to pay.

"Lead with an example, not fear, and you'll have undying support from your fellow man. Don't worry if you fail."

Shin was snapped out of his thoughts when he came across a rundown pet store; the building above was boarded up. He opened the door unafraid he heard the man was a non-bender, so he didn't have anything to fear. He reached for the door and pushed it open. The smell of wet animal fur and other foul smells enters his nose. And the sound of the radio blasting old music echoed in the room.

The room had rows of cages stacked on each other, full of many different animals from across the element nations. Shin had never seen so many rare animals in one room, though they looked uncared for and skinny. Shin questioned if the man was even there.

"Yes, I did it, the people of the city. No, the world will know of the great Doctor Animo!" The voice of an old man said in a mad ramble. Shin walked to the back of the room. He was trying to find the man, walking to an empty work table. Shin was baffled; he could have sworn he had heard the man was here. He slowly lowered his head to see a frog in its terrarium hopping around.

Behind Shin, a figure slowly walks out of the shadows. He slowly stalked out of the shadows.

"What are you doing here?" The old man yelled. Shin yelped, spinning around to see a thin older man with long, slick-back white hair. He wore a green shirt, brown cargo pants, and black runner boots. The man had fire nation features but a strange, slightly hunched posture, more walking leading with his shoulders than anything else.

Shin backed up but put on his tough guy routine. Now ready for anything, Shin was forced to carry a water jug container by his side. Thanks to Jin's forceful, helping attitude.

"Listen, old man. It seems you forgot to pay us Triple Triads, the loan you took from us," Shin said, trying to give a Threatening voice. Though Doctor Animo simply held his gaze on the gangster.

"All of my funds go into my research. Now get out!" He said coldly. Shin's hand flexes as the water from his jug floats in the air, waiting for his command.

"Well, you better pony up, or else you and your pets will be on the streets. You don't want to mess with the Triple Triads, do you?" Shin asked. Doctor Animo smiled at Shin's response as if his word had triggered a trap.

"Pony up, interesting choice of phrase." Doctor Animo walked to his table, put on a strange harness, and smirked at Shin. Then he pulled the green slimy toad from its terrarium and set it on the ground.

"You must be an animal lover." He then put on a strange metal helmet with headphones on the side. It also had two metal funnels going upward with a red glowing tip at the end. The helmet gave the doctor a strange look, looking almost like horns.

Shin let out a laugh at his strange get-up. "What you dressed up for a saber-tooth moose convention!"

Doctor Animo wasn't even mused at the joke. Instead, he had an extremely stern look, which you would see in a teacher scolding a distracted student.

"This is my Transmodulator observation, phase number one. It creates and accelerates mutations at the genetic level. Observe." Doctor Animo said, twisting a dial, making his two horns glow, and zapping the frog on the floor. Shin watched the frog grow monstrously, its mass almost filling the room. Now, he has six red eyes and two giant red horns. Shin watched in horror as the beast looked at him; before Shin could act, the huge frog swallowed Shin in its large mouth. You could hear the muffled cries of Shin outside the beast.

Doctor Animo laughed at the gangster's predicament. "Aw, what's the matter, frog in your throat, or is it the other way around."

Soon, the muffled cry stopped, and the giant frog spat him out. Shin lay unconscious, coated in green, sickly-looking slime. After a moment passed, Doctor Animo's smile soon vanished as he picked up a flier on the table and had an angry grin. "So close to having what was rightfully mine."

Doctor Animo gripped the paper, crushing it in his hand. His handshakes in anger. "All I need is a few more lousy components."

The radio music stopped as an ad started to play. "Come downtown for the new auto mega story where we got it all for the parts of your new automobile~."

He smirked at the news and gave a wicked smile. "Just what the doctor ordered."

Ube sat in his chair across from Mr. Shi, having a long, tired, and shamed face; deception was a very foreign act to him. He was raised in a house of truth. Lying was forbidden in his home. He didn't mind because he never had to hide anything until now. Saying it out loud in front of someone close to him made him feel more guilty.

"So yeah, that's what happened after I chased Jin out of the ghettos," Ube said, finishing the recap. Mr. Shi held his hands and gave Ube a happy glance.

"Okay, as long as you're not having any trouble, that's fine." Mr. Shi said in a relaxed tone. Taking a swig of his hot tea. Ube narrowed his gaze on the old man.

"That's it, you're not freaked or anything!" Ube exclaimed. This was crazy; he had just told Mr. Shi how he could turn into a hero, yet he had a calm face. The old man gestured with his hand to the watch.

"Could I see one?" Mr. Shi asked. Ube had a flabbergasted face thinking about what had happened.

"You wanna see me transform? You're serious?" Ube asked. Mr. Shi looked at the young teen with crossed arms and smiled gently.

"Don't worry, Ube, go ahead," He said. Ube rolled his jaw and shrugged his shoulders.

"All right, you asked for it, like no freaking out. OK, that's my one rule," Ube said. He stood up and walked into the middle of the room, which had the most space in case the worst happened.

"Okay, so I push the button, and the dial pushes up; I twist the dial, and whatever is on it, I just push the dial down," Ube said, doing all the actions. Then, a bright green light flash covers the room. Mr. Shi covered his eyes and slowly looked back at Ube. Now standing in his place, a new being stood, covered in hot magma. His feet had a slight oval, like shape with only two toes in the front and one in the back, and his collarbone resembled a volcano, generating fire that made it look like hair that covered his head, illuminating his mask, like face visible with no ears or nose. Now, with the Omnitrix in the middle of his chest.

Ube gazed down at himself, thinking about what he was; this form's heat and unyielding power felt very different. In truth, even though Ube wanted to be an earthbender. When he was young, he was born from a fire bender. His relationship with fire is always tricky, and it reminds him of his late passing mother. He always tried to think of the best of her, which was why he cooked; he was close to that flame, and making food brought only the best memories of his past with his late mother. However, the idea of controlling fires the way she did gave him a pang of sadness. Almost as if he didn't feel worthy to have it. He was so lost in his form that he forgot about Mr. Shi, who had studied Ube with a hint of surprise. There was no shock or fear, only wanting to understand what he was.

"You're an alien!" Mr. Shi said. Ube gazed at Shi, wondering what he meant. The way he sounded, he knew what he was. Ube would never think of that option ever, being beyond the stars sounded almost like fantasy to him. Also, most aliens he heard of would be tiny green men; technically, they were little gray frog people, but he would not count that.

"What?" Ube said. Mr. Shi could see the confusion in his eyes and quickly pointed out something.

"Look at you; you certainly don't give off a spirit vibe." He said. Ube pondered on his words; maybe he did have a good point, but the conversation was over now. He just wanted to get out and do some patrolling. Each minute he was in these forms was precious time to save lives.

"Well, now you know, please don't tell the cops. All I just wanted to do was help people. This watch makes me feel like I can save the world." Ube said.

The old man took a long breath and gave him a stern glare. "Does your mother know?"

His eyes widened at the question. Though his shoulder slumped as his body answered, Mr. Shi didn't have to hear him say anything.

"She wouldn't understand. I don't want anything bad to happen. I know she's got a lot on her plate already. I don't wanna put on anymore." Ube said. I am trying to make the best of it. Mr. Shi shook his head in disagreement.

"Ube, I know all this lying isn't going to help. I won't say a thing to anybody, but you gotta be careful out there." Mr. Shi said. Ube continued to walk further towards the door. "If you're in trouble or don't know what to do, please, I'm here to talk."

"I know, Mr. Shi," Ube walked out of the door. Now, in the alleyway, shut the door behind him. He opened his hand and let a small flame dance across his fingers. He pointed his finger at a glass bottle. And shot a small blast of fire at it, kicking it off the ground.

"I guess I'll call you Heatblast," He tried to say positively, though he was deeply saddened and a little lost. He slumped his back against the wall. Usually, when he got a new form, he would be excited and do everything he could in it. Though this form hit a little too close to home, he never imagined a fire form. It oddly made him angry. The time he lost someone so near and couldn't do anything about it.

Even against his personal feelings, he still had to try it out. He didn't wanna end up not knowing how to work this form and causing massive damage, for he knew how important fire was.

While fire meant much to one, it could hurt another. A grand mansion that stood on top of a mountain line with an oak forest surrounded the estate. Someone slept in a giant silk bed in one of the many luscious rooms. She slowly stirred in her sleep, rising out of her bed and letting out a tired yawn. She got ready for her day and now wore her usual outfit of a black jumpsuit. It has a red outline, giving the outfit a good flair. She was ready and walked out of the room. This was Asami Sato, the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the city.

She walked down the grand white stairs and into the main dining room, where she saw her father working on many papers. She walked into the room. Hiroshi greeted his daughter.

"Oh, good morning dear, and what are you doing up so early?" he asked playfully. She smiled and gave him a good morning kiss on the forehead.

"You know why. The mega mart opened up, and I wanted to get there early to get some parts for my moped." She said, Hiroshi smiled at his daughter's independent action.

"That's great. Could you take a seat? I wanted to talk to you." Hiroshi asked.

"So, are you ready for your big speech at the award ceremony? You'll probably end up getting that prize for the most success?" She asked.

"Yes, I am, and your father is gonna knock their socks off when they hear it, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about."

Asami took her seat and glanced at her father. "What's up?" She asked. Hiroshi held his hands with a worried look.

"I know you've worked with me at the company, and I know how great you are at it, but I was hoping you could find a job in the city," Hiroshi said. Asami had an honest face, she wasn't against the idea, but she wondered why?

"Uh, sure why?" She asked.

"My dear daughter, I know you are skilled in many things, but I want you to find a simple job before entering the company. I want you to see all the points of work." Hiroshi said. Asami couldn't help but smile at her father. It sounded fun to her, so why shouldn't it make her better in the future? It would also fill her schedule with something to do.

"I think that's all fine. Hey, after I go shopping, I'll go job shopping." She said.

Glancing at the clock on the wall. "Oh, sorry, Dad, I got to go!" She began to walk out of the hall. "Hold on, young lady!"

He picked up yesterday's paper and showed the front picture. He laughed at the image of Shocksquatch flexing. Asami laughed at the paper. When she first saw the paper, she couldn't help but burst out laughing. It was silly, but I smiled at the idea of those people being safe.

"That has to be the worst hoax ever; look at it; I can see the strings." She said while putting on her helmet.

"Just be careful, my dear? And don't let the spirits bite," He joked. Asami put on her goggles and dashed out the door. She had one goal in mind, and that was to head to the mega-mart. She heard about the new parts and wanted to get her hands on them.

Ube, now in his normal form, looked sad. He was glad Mr. Shi was on his side, but he knew not telling his mother about this was eating him up inside. Looking up at the blue sky, he smiled, finding that calling in him that made him want to do this. His head was in the clouds of one dream, and he would never give up.

"I should bring more food to the ghettos for a start. Yeah, that would be good. Heck, maybe I should go to the Megamart," Ube thought. He made his way down the sidewalk. He walked toward the shopping district. While he strode down the path, he felt nervous and sad. Honestly, he just wanted to get on with his day so that he would distract himself with some good charitable acts.

While trudging along, he kept his head down and kicked a can. After walking for a while, he made it to the entrance to a copper arch gate. There was a big sign saying Welcome to the Megamart.

There were dozens of food vendors, clothing stores, and large crowds, and the mechanical auto shop was in the very back for everyone to see. There is no roof to the Grand Shopping District. The weather was perfect, and the wind was still.

Ube smiled at the idea of making mung bean sandwiches, A perfect and fulfilling meal for cheap. He quickly paced around to find the grocery aisle. Though unknown to him, Asami walked just past him. The two lost in their plans.

Ube had found a vegetable stand, seeing so much for not that much. He picked up a basket and started to fill up his basket. Ube could hear the crowd chanting as many people started to leave quickly. Everybody at their head turned at something and promptly backed away or went to find an exit. His head turned at the entrances to see…

"Greetings, people of this market! You may bask in the greatness of Doctor Animo!" He announced to the fleeing people that he rode his giant mutant frog. He is wearing strange headgear and goggles with red lenses on his head.

The creature was a monstrous size. Though worse yet to come, was a koala sheep twice its size. The cute face now had feral wrinkles, its nose shaper, sharp teeth, and thick white fur that looked more like steel wool you used for scrubbing dishes,

A feathered reptile, a large predator lizard-like bird with green feathers, being quadruped and its wings folded in, it was an Iguana parrot now ten feet tall and with a bone club tail. And ready to rip its prey apart. The colors green and blue were gone and replaced with pure white. The mad doctor clicked his teeth, gaining the mutated animal's attention and pointing it at the repair shop.

"Let's move!" He said as the animal listened to his will. The giant frog busted through the gate. At the same time, the Iguana parrot crawled the wall. The sheep followed in front. Ube quickly took cover behind a large can. He peeked his head out to try and figure out how to handle the situation—skimming at his watch and turning the dial. He smiled, seeing the one he wanted. He glanced around to see no one was around; they left in fear or hid.

"How about some Four Arms!" He slammed down. The light green flashed over him. The teen felt his body change and form into something new. The light faded, and he let out a battle cry. He looked at his two arms to see he was not Four Arms. Now in the form of Shock Squatch. He looked down at the Omnitrix on his belt.

"Okay, Eh, Shock Squatch, I can work with that." He said. A loud crash of metal and glass got his attention, seeing how Doctor Animo and his pack of mutant animals ran into the auto shop.

"It's game time," Shock Squatch said, leaping from his spot and running toward the action. He could feel the energy inside him building up.

Asami was having a typical day, just looking through the isles, until a crazy old man leaped through the front of the store with a giant monster frog. She hid behind that record player section and tried to find the exit. She made sure her steps were light and her breath muffled by her hand.

Asami heard a crash and could see the giant frog a couple of feet away. It wasn't looking her away, so she quietly slipped past it. She wanted to just, and she was close to the exit until she saw Doctor Animo standing in her path, not looking at her; his attention was clearly on the little contraption he stuffed in his pockets. Asami couldn't just stand by and let this person take what they wanted from these good people.

"Hey! You can't just take that." Asami called out. He turned his head to face her. His cold eyes looked through his red lenses.

He snapped his fingers as the giant toad jumped and landed behind her. She quickly backed away into a wall of boxes. The toad used its tongue to strike at her. Though she narrowly dodged out of the way. The boxes behind her came down and landed upon her. She slowly got up and could see Doctor Animo smirking at her.

"A little advice: Don't play hero," Animo grinned pridefully. He quickly narrowed his eyes like he recognized something about her.

"You look familiar," He said. Asami's eyes widened if she were recognized. There was no telling of what trouble would have happened for herself and her father.

"Sorry, I never met you," She said, frustrated, slowly getting up and trying to back away. She stopped when she heard the low Grau of the mutated sheep koala glaring right at her.

"I know you!" He said, pointing a finger at her. "You're that fat idiot's daughter!"

She grew in rage, glaring at the mad doctor even in her situation. She would still show her disdain at anyone who tried to hurt her father. "Don't talk about my father, and I'm that."

"I would worry more about yourself, and I'm sure you would make a good snack for my creation." Doctor Animo said. Asami glanced at the creature, seeing how they were mutated beyond normal; it was cruel and disrespected these beautiful creatures.

"You made these monsters. How could you do that to these poor animals?" She yelled. Doctor Animo snickered.

"We call that science only a small price to pay for perfection," Doctor Animo said. Though quickly snapping his fingers. The mutated sheep walked forward. It's maw drooling with hunger. Asami stepped back and got into a stance. The beast leaped at Asami. She prepared for the worst until a lightning bolt struck the east, flinging it back to the wall. The mutated animal fell to the ground and was rendered unconscious. They both turned to see a giant ape-like creature with electricity dancing across its entire body.

"I got to say, Eh, that's not very nice of you to wreck the place. How boot you knock it off and go back to the loony bin, Eh," ShockSquatch said while smirking. Asami was baffled at what she saw. It was one of the spirit. A real-life spirit standing in front of her. Doctor Animo snarled his teeth in annoyance. It still kept a calm composure.

ShockSquatch cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders at the task he finished. "So you like dressing up like saber-tooth moose and destroying places eh, not cool eh."

"Err, never mind you, I already got what I need; time to go." Doctor Animo said, leaping, mounting his mutated frog. Shocksquatch quickly ran at the two.

"I'm not letting you get away that easy, Eh," ShockSquatch said. Then, before he could reach them, the koala sheep tackled him from the side; trying to bite with great strength, he could easily fight it back. Asami quickly took cover and hid behind a pile of rubble. He pushed it off with great strength, flinging it back and tumbling it to the ground. The mutant charged at him again. Ube, thinking, quickly grabbed its neck with both hands and let out a massive discharge of electricity, knocking the beast out as smoke began to come from its back.

The toad that Doctor Animal rode on quickly jumped towards ShockSquatch—shooting its tongue right into ShockSquatch and punching him in the face.

"It's been fun, spirit, but I have other plans, prehistoric if you don't mind." He announced the giant iguana's parents busted through the roof with a massive wingspan, making a large hole in the ceiling. The store was quiet as everyone who was in had left. Cries and panicked screams could be heard from afar. Asami poked her head to look at the aftermath of the disaster. She kicked a stick on the ground and picked it up. She held it to defend herself in case anything happened. She could see the mutant animal was dead, but it was for the best for the poor thing. To be put out of its misery.

"Uuh, they should put those things on leashes," ShockSquatch said, slowly getting up and holding his head with one hand. Getting to his feet, he patted himself, trying to think about what had just happened.

"Alright, Ube, I turn into an alien, " said Mr. Shi. So this is not the strangest thing to happen today." He thought as he slowly got up.

"I got to catch that guy," ShockSquatch said, then turned around to see Asami holding her stick and pointing her weapon at him. She had a studying gaze with a hint of terror. ShockSquatch took a nervous gulp and stood still, almost afraid to move. He tried not to panic or say anything stupid.

"So, uh, weird weather we having?" ShockSquatch asked, trying to lighten up the mood. Asami still was silent and held her weapon.

"You're a spirit?" She asked.

ShockSquath gave an awkward nod, almost "Yeah, sort of," Sounding like he was telling a lie. Something told him to leave now and give chase to the doctor; hopefully, he could catch up. They were more important matters like stopping a crazed maniac, though he was glad that no one was hurt. He remembered everyone left before the brawl could happen. There was an awkward silence between them again; ShockSquatch coughed in his hand.

"Uh Bye!" He said.

He had to shake off this feeling and leaped out of the hole of the mutated animals. Asami felt dumbfounded, though the distant sound of police sirens echoed close. She fell to the ground, wondering what just happened. Asami ran outside the store and waited for the police. She wanted to go home, hoping that her father wasn't in danger in shape or way. The hatred that man gave to her seemed very personal.

A police car pulled up as Lin exited, seeing the shopping district was defaced and damaged.

Hours had passed, and Ube was sitting on top of an eight-story building roof, trying to think of where that crazed man went. He tried to follow the doctor, but the man left no tracks. Not even a trail of destruction, the man knew what he was doing.

His mind was boggled at what to do; he scratched his chin, wondering how to find Animo. Even though his mother was a cop, Lin was very strict about him going into law enforcement, and to be fair, when he was younger, it never really crossed his mind; he always thought he was going to cook for the rest of his life until the watch came into his life.

"Mom makes this look so easy when she tells me about work." He rubbed his temples, trying to think of what the Doctor said.

"Prehistoric, if you don't mind!" Ube thought, thinking that he had a clue. Prehistoric meant very old or out of date. What's a place that is old and this wacko would go? Then, an Idea popped into his mind.

"The museum, that's it!" He shouted. It may have been a long shot, but it could have been a lead. However, the Republic City museum was across town. The City was on a coast on the east side. While going further past the west side of city limits was grassland land that led into mountains. Any further would lead into the Earth Kingdom estate.

"Alright, time to go XLR8," He turned, and before he could transform, he stopped, only to hear the sound of a person crying from below.

"Don't jump; you got so much to live for!" A firm young teen said from below on the street. Ube looked for the edge to see only one person standing in the empty street.

He had slick back hair, green eyes all on a roundish face, and wore a green shirt with black plants. His shoes are black, and his white socks reach his calves.

"What are you talking about?" Ube shouted.

"Don't worry, my name is Bolin. I know life seems sad, but look on the bright side. Your life is great." He shouted. Ube was utterly lost, thinking that this person thought he was jumping off a building in a suicide attempt.

"What!? I'm not doing anything, and I just came on top of this building to think!" He shouted back.

"Really? I don't know, man, that sounds like you're thinking about it." Bolin asked. Ube smacked his forehead in frustration.

"I'm Bolin. Don't worry if you fall; I can catch you. I'm an earthbender." He said.

"Uh, Hi," Ube said in an awkward voice. Bolin still shouted with his hopes up. "It's okay, man. Sometimes, we feel bad, but it gets better. I just wanted to let you know. I'll catch you with the rocks."

"Wait, you're gonna catch me with rocks? That's extremely dangerous. Tell me your step-by-step plan for how this would go; never mind, I'm leaving; I have other stuff to do!" He shouted while walking and hiding out of sight. Bolin stood their hands on his hips, Clicking his teeth.

"He seems nice," He said. Walking away to do his business. Unknown to him, a green flash brightly flared behind. At the same time, a blue blur zoomed off the building.

Asami uncomfortably held her arms, the police right now, talking to her, asking her for details. She told him that she did see a spirit. Then, a crazy guy was controlling mutated animals. She thought the police wouldn't take her seriously at all, but they listened with very keen ears.

They asked her to wait for a while until Lin walked her away. Asami had heard of the legendary polished-off stories of busts or crime bosses in the ending of illegal underground black markets. Not to mention a master metal bender.

"Hello," Asami meekly said. Lin gazed at Asami and had a calm, cold, steel gaze.

"I understand you're Asami Sato; funny, it was only a couple of days ago I talked to your father," Lin said. The young heiress nervously stood still. "Am I in trouble?"

"Not far from it, I heard you met our new resident spirit. We need to talk about the man riding on the giant frog that crushed a car on West Street," Lin said. Then, in a stressed manner, pinch the bridge of her nose. Asami worried about the police chief's sudden stop of thinking.

"Are you okay?" She asked. Lin took a deep, calm breath, trying to be professional. "I'm sorry. It's just a little much when I have to deal with spirits and now mutated monsters."

Lin pulled a notepad from her side. "Please tell me everything."

Asami did as she was told and recounted the events that happened today. She made sure not to leave a single detail out. After everything, she wrote it down, using it for reference.

"He mentioned your father. Did you know him by any chance?" Lin asked. Asami shrugged her shoulders.

"Well, there should be top security there, correct? Isn't that event being hosted by one of the richest men in the world?" Lin asked.

"Yes, but Mr. Varrick never shows up at his host events." She said. Asami felt scared for her father. Was he in any danger? Lin gave a slight nod.

"I'll send my best men to the job. Don't worry, I doubt he would do such a thing," Lin said. She gestured the talking was done, "If you see anything else, tell us,"

Walking away from Asami, Lin studied the empty, destroyed store seeing the dead animal being marked as evidence; she had to figure something out fast. She would have to organize a huge search for these spirits and this new man controlling animals. Lin could see the scorch marks on the ground in the shape of footprints.

"Why were you here?" She asked. Lin turned to see Asami being anxious just to leave. She walked over to the young teen.

"Take me to your father; I follow behind. I have some questions to ask him; his safety could be on the line."

Asami quickly ran to her moped and hopped on. The event was in a couple of hours. If she rushed across the city, she could make it. She wanted to warn her father or get anything to identify the man.

Ube was posted on the roof waiting for something to happen, no longer in his alien form, yet wanted to stay. The day was setting into nighttime. He was sitting across from the museum. It was a large building that had to hold the world's storied history; its black walls were strong and made of black stone. While the roof had a huge glass dome for the light of day to brighten the day.

Ube had been in the giant history gallery, and he remembered seeing the Airbender artifacts, the tremendous old scrolls that told of great legends like the blue spirit, Koh the face stealer, and The Cave of Two Lovers. However, the most eye-catching was the fossilized creatures of the past. Like Tyrannosauroceratops, the king of its time, and Megaphant, just animals that swam into the cold ocean waters. The animal was said to summon great floods. When he was a child, he could remember seeing their remarkable skeletal remains. They were terrific creatures throughout their time long past.

He waited long and started questioning whether he had made the right choice. He followed his gut but simultaneously questioned whether it was the right decision. He started to mess with the Omnitrixs, looking at his forms. He wondered what that word meant. It sounded so strange: Omni meant everything. What did it mean? Though he would not fail again, he would stop this madman.

"Man, what's a guy like me supposed to do? Aliens are real, and things would get crazier daily; man would be nice if the avatar showed up right now, but nope, you're off somewhere secret, going on an amazing adventure." Ube said in an angry rant. He took a deep breath and realized what he had done.

"Woah, where did that come from." He asked out loud. "Stay focused until trouble shows its face, okay? Just another hour of waiting."

Ube sat on the roof out of sight and fiddled with his hands. He hungrily clicked his tongue and held his stomach. Ube thought he might start bringing lunches when he went on patrols. Now he knew why his mom ate so much takeout. He could hear a loud thud approach the museum. His eyes widened when he saw the giant frog approach the door as Doctor Animal rode on it. He smiled at what was in front of him like his plan was falling into place. A flying parrot beast landed outside the museum. Ube quickly ducked behind the ledge so as not to be seen. Doctor Animo snapped his fingers, and his mutant frog used its tongue to smash open the wooden door. His animals ran through the large frame doors running in, and he could see the security guards run out the back doors. Scared of the situation, they ran for their lives.

He took a deep breath and twisted the dial, and It was now or never.

"Okay, get the doctor, tie him up, and save the day before it gets any worse," Ube said. The watch was set on the silhouette of Four Arms. "Looks like I need some hands on this, so how about four of them?

The green flash took over his body. The Omnitrix was on his chest. He felt his body shift and change. He felt his body being encased in a shell and his lungs filled with water. He now appears as a red, mollusk-like alien with green eyes and a grey mouth that does not move when he speaks. Small grey spikes are behind his legs and on the top of his arms, and black spots are on his shoulders, legs, and hands. His eyes were a bright blue.

Ube looked down at his hands and had an angry stare. "A new guy!" He shouted, his voice sounding like he was underwater.

He calmed down and looked back at the museum. Whether it was a new form or not, he was a quick learner, and with all his forms, he had one thing: they were super durable. All he had to do was go with the flow of this form and use that natural nature to activate his body, like flexing a muscle. He leaped out of the room and gracefully landed on the street.

"Guess I'm more nimble than I think." He said. Without hesitation, Ube ran into the broken doors. In this dark place, he could see Doctor Animo standing by a stuffed Megaphant building something with his hand, its body huge and easily thirty feet tall. Its tusks had serrated shark teeth along its edge. Its fur is mixed with brown fur and under rubber shark skin.

The flier was nowhere to be seen while the frog was posted on the right, watching if anything approached its master. Ube stood in his new form and pointed at the doctor with his sharp claws.

"Animo enough, it's time for you to stop this!" Ube yelled. "Whatever it is you are up to, I don't know. I'm just assuming something bad."

Doctor Animo frowned, seeing the new spirit in front of him. "You are very persistent. I hate persistent," He said.

He read the paper but could never be happier. This could be an excellent opportunity to widen his knowledge. If he captures this spirit, he could be world-famous, but that had to wait; there was a score to settle.

"Capture him, my creature, Capture him!" He ordered. The frog stretched its tongue out and tried to grapple Ube. He quickly dodged out of the way and charged at the frog, his fist ready to pound the giant amphibian.

The frog leaped at Ube with its mouth open, and the alien Ube realized his fatal mistake. "OH, NO!"

The giant frog swallowed him whole. Closing its mouth around Ube, Doctor Animo smiled, seeing how he won. Animo would take his time on the spirit but fiddle around making something for his mutating helmet device.

Ube tried to keep calm but found it very difficult to relax as he was being eaten alive. The inner wall muscle surrounds him and constricts him. His exoskeleton did protect him, but all his attacks were in vain, for it felt like he was hitting a squishy wall. In a moment of panic, Ube took some deep breaths and focused on calming down. Ube found that his exoskeleton was protecting his body.

"Got to think, just use this alien power if it has any. Oh, spirit up above, please tell this one has powers!"

He slowly positioned his arms out with his mind settled on one thing. Then, he felt a great wave of fury boil with him. Then, a great spout of water sprayed from his palms, pushing the frog's stomach out. Ube's eyes widened at what he did, and an idea popped into his head.

"Well, It seems you swallowed one heck of a Water Hazard. Huh, water hazard is not a bad name for this guy," Ube said in amusement. His hands released a large amount of water in seconds, and the water level reached his chest.

Outside of the frog was twitching and started to gawk and cough. The doctor wasn't paying attention, only finishing up on his device. The frog suddenly felt its stomach expand while its back was puffing up. It struggled to keep its mouth closed as water began to leak from the corner of its lips. Its legs started twitching while its eyes slammed shut. It couldn't get oxygen into its lungs, realizing it was drowning.

Then, it collapsed on the ground as water poured from its mouth. Animo slowly was caught out of his inventor's daze. To see something crawl out of his creation.

Water Hazard pulled himself out of the beast's mouth and glared at Animo.

"I just drowned your little science experiment. Drop the helmet and get on your knees!" He said with an authoritative voice. He learned plenty of times from his mom. Doctor Animo didn't listen and finished making his gadget, adding it to his helmet.

"I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. See, I need it—only a few components. To put my work into phase two reviving, dormant cells," He said, explaining it with his very scientific words. His hand caressed the taxidermy animal. Ube scratched his head.

"Yeah, that's nice. Do you come with translation because I don't understand what you're saying?" Ube said, pointing his hands at the doctor.

"Allow me to explain it in dumber terms, breathing life back into things that were long-lifeless," Animo said, turning the dial on his chest and cranking up the static noise from the helmet.

"Allow me to demonstrate." Then, a massive beam of energy struck the taxidermy Megaphant. Ube watched as the still stuffed beast slowly moved its eyes, blinking now. The glowing red malice was for real, and its tusks looked razor sharp. The mammoth soon stepped forward and gazed at Water Hazard. Animo saw this as his chance and ran further into the museum, screaming in a prideful manner.

"Behold the genius of Doctor Animo!" He yelled.

Ube was at a loss for words as this creature of the past was now alive and standing right in front of him, Though he did wish the prehistoric monster wasn't looking at him. The cry of an elephant echoed out into the building. Water Hazard stood his ground as the living tank strode at him. Water Hazard quickly pointed his hands at Megaphant and unleashed a powerful gazer of water that pushed Megaphant back.

This wasn't a normal pushing of water like a regular water bender; it was a blast of water. It took all he had not to launch himself off the ground when the water blasted from his hands. He could see the explosion of water force the Megaphant to the wall. The wall was starting to crack. This was more than shooting water. Ube realized It was high enough water pressure to punch through steel. The Megaphant was still forcing itself and slowly punching through the endless wave of water.

Water Hazard could see his attack slowly becoming ineffective. The animal could survive in giant typhoons. He knew this animal would flatten him if he dropped his hands for a minute. He tried to think of a new plan as the Megaphant stepped forward.

"Use my head, Use my head, wait a second! My head!" With a swift action, he stopped his flow of water and brought his arm behind his back. Water Hazard then blasted a tilde wave of water behind himself, shooting him off like a rocket straight at the Megaphant's forehead, smashing into the animal with the force of a missile. Water Hazard tumbled on the ground, crashing into a glass case, but the Megaphant fell unconscious and hit the ground with a great thud.

Water Hazard gets up on his feet and rubs his head. He felt a little shaken up, but he had accomplished his goal. Shaking off his dizzy head, he rushed off in the same direction Doctor Animo went.

Ube ran towards another exhibit that held a giant skeleton of a Tyrannosauroceratop. The large body of the T-Rex also has the head crown and horns of the mighty Triceratops. It was bigger than the Megaphant; he could see Animo already using his mutation device before he could shoot a stream of water. The red energy covered the skeleton. Ube was too late as flesh and muscle began to grow from the bones. While the scaly red skin covered its body, its hollow skull was filled with flesh and glowing red eyes. It was alive again, letting out a mighty cry. That shocked the room.

The Tyrannosauroceratop gazed down at its master and lowered itself to the ground so Animo could mount its back. He turned his head to face Water Hazard.

"Sorry, I'd love to stay, but I need to claim the reward that I so richly deserve," Then the Tyrannosauroceratop crashed through the wall and busted outside into the city. Water Hazard was stunned at the giant hole in the priceless museum that took years to make. The Iguana parrot flew over Water Hazard's head, following its master.

Water Hazard was about to give chase until he noticed a particular piece of paper on the ground; his blue eyes widened in horror. It was the special event tonight paper. He realized this guy was heading towards the award ceremony. He raised his palms to shoot down the Iguana parrot.

Then, a horrible familiar noise Ube heard in his ears. Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

"No, not now!" Water Hazard yelled as a red flash covered his body, turning him back into Ube. The young teen could complain later. He ran after Animo, knowing he would not catch up, but could follow Animo's tracks of destruction. While running, he kept trying to activate Omnitrixs. He felt so angered, being in his normal form.

Animo fode on the Tyrannosauroceratop as it crushed a kiosk below its feet, causing people to run in terror. He laughed at the destruction he caused. "I love my work."

Ube frustratingly fidgeted with the watch, still showing a red light that showed it was timed out. He slapped his forehand, wanting this thing to work.

"I can't fail!" Ube repeated in his mind. His legs work in overdrive, and his blood pumps for action. A heated gaze fell in his direction with no fear in his steps.

Then, with the light turned green, ready for action. Ube turned the dial, and the silhouette of goop showed on the face. He needed his flier, and having an acid slime seemed the best way to take down a dinosaur. He slammed down on the watch. The green light flashed over him, and his body changed yet again.

"Four Arms!" Ube shouted, not knowing yet he had picked the wrong alien. "Aw, come on, I was on the option, Whatever! I can make this work!"

Four Arms ran faster than before, a pace he could catch up to them with this pace. He hoped he could make it before Animo made it to the ceremony. The sound of an automobile was rolling up next to him. Four Arms turned his head to see a black car driving by him. Mr. Shi, who was driving the vehicle, rolled down the window.

"Mr. Shi!" Four Arms said in shock.

"Hop on Ube, I can get you there faster !" He said. Many questions needed to be asked, but stopping Animo was more important. Four Arms got on the top of the car and held still. Then, it dawned on Four Arms.

"Wait, you had a car; I didn't have to do all deliveries on foot!" He yelled at Mr. Shi from the top of the car. The old man stuck his head out the window and gazed at the alien.

"With gas prices these days, I think not!" Mr. Shi said. "Also, you need the exercise!"

One of Four Arms, extra limbs slapped his head.

At the Grand Republic city event center, many of the wealthier upper class were here, and many of them were benders. Even most Republic City council members, though councilman Tenzin was absent doing his research in spirits.

The floor tiles are a bright white, and the large, clean glass wall shows the beautiful park outside. Fancy music played through the space while golden light illuminated the room with a warm glow. Food of the highest quality was ready for the guests. The reporters all had their cameras and questions for Hiroshi.

Hiroshi was going through his cards and reading what he wrote. A tall man who organized the event whispered to Hiroshi.

"You're on, sir." He said. Hiroshi gave a happy nod and slowly walked to the stage. He cleared his throat, getting closer to the microphone.

"Hello, I'm glad to see so many faces at this gathering; I know many of you are here to help me get this award." He said, making the crowd laugh. "Though in truth, we are here to celebrate the progress of humanity, we take this time to look back at our achievements. Even though this award goes to me, it should go to all of us for the people's hard work, and I hope one day we can all be here together."

The main doors opened as Asami rushed through the door; Lin closely followed behind her detective instinct, leading her to this possible lead. Any security that tried to stop the too was swiftly stopped by Lin's authority. Asami could see her father giving his speech as much as she wanted to ask him something. Lin thought the same but could see how Asami wanted to rush up there. Hiroshi held a small golden trophy that was shaped like a beaker. His eyes could see Asami, and it warmed his heart, giving him a happy smile.

"We work for children's futures-" Hiroshi was cut off when a large thud shocked the room; they all looked around, trying to find where the noise was coming from. Lin let her metal shoes retract onto her shin, a simple metal behind the technique.

Hiroshi slowly turned around to look into the glass wall behind himself.

Crash!

The giant window shattered as millions of glass pieces headed toward the crowd of the wealthy. In incredible action, Lin raised two giant earth walls, destroying the tiled floor and protecting the people. Unfortunately, Hiroshi was too far away, but his arms covered his head. Luckily, no glass stabbed him. The Tyrannosauroceratop had smashed through the window and let out a mighty roar, making the rich run to the exit doors, guided by security.

"DAD!" Asami cried out. Tyrannosauroceratop glared at Hiroshi with a feral growl. Animo got off his creation and landed on the stage.

"Hello Hiroshi, I see you holding my award. Would you be so kind as to give it to me," Animo said with hateful venom. Hiroshi stood up with a gaped mouth, seeing the person standing before him as if staring at a ghost.

"Animo?" Hiroshi said like he was questioning his reality. "I thought you died in the fire."

"Oh, I got better. Now I'm here to take what's mine, my trophy, and the life you stole from me!" Animo shouted as he hopped back on his Tyrannosauroceratop; Hiroshi shook his head.

"You were the one who got yourself kicked out of the university, and I took nothing!" Hiroshi pleaded. Animo grinned angrily.

"After you reported me to the university about experiments, I was a laughing stock after that!" Anime yelled, but now his greed was forced on the trophy in his hand. He held it in triumph.

"Now it seems like I can cross this off my list, and now it is time for me to end you," Animo yelled. The Tyrannosauroceratops opened its jaw. Asami quickly ran towards her father and held him close.

"No, stop, please don't hurt him!" Asami begged with all her heart, already knowing the loss of a parent, she wouldn't lose her father. Animo didn't care as the Tyrannosauroceratop was about to slam its jaws on the two, only for it to miss. The Tyrannosauroceratop was pulled back as Four Arms grabbed its tail and yanked the beast back. Animo turned around and glared at the alien.

"Didn't anyone tell you to keep your pets on a leash?" Four Arm said. Lins's eyes widened at the spirit who had stopped this tragic fate.

"You again, MY CREATION KILL HIM!" Animo commanded, and the dinosaur followed its order and switched attention to Four Arms. Lin used her metal ropes to pull Asami and Hiroshi out of the danger. Four Arms narrows his four eyes at them.

"Let's rumble," Four Arm said cooly as the two charged each other. The Tyrannosauroceratops tried to use its powerful jaws to bite Four Arms; he threw his two right

arms right at the Tyrannosauroceratop's lower jaw, making it run head-first into the wall. Animo was also wobbling from the crash, trying to understand what happened.

Four Arms cracked his knuckles and rolled his neck. He was happy he made it in time; the worst could have happened if Mr. Shi wasn't there to pick him up. Four Arms had to take down Animo; he was sure the rest would follow.

Four Arm lept in the air and dived at Animo with his arms out. Then, the Iguana-Parrot tackled him to the ground, trying to use its peak to stab Four Arm's eyes. He threw the bird off, jumped on it, and sledgehammered all four fists down upon this mutated monstrosity, embedding the creature in the ground. It quickly removed itself from the ground and jumped on Four Arms' back.

Lin had almost evacuated almost everyone except Sato, who stayed behind the wall. Asami watched as Four Arms tried to pry the attacker off him. This was the same type of spirit that saved her. She would stand by and allow this creature to hurt anybody else. Asami, in the heat of the moment, grabbed a piece of rebar that had some concrete stuck to the end of it. She quickly grabbed the metal like a sword. Hiroshi tried to stop her but failed as she quickly evaded his grip before he could give chase. Lin pulled him away with her metal rope and tossed him to security, who easily caught him.

"No, please, my daughter, she's all I have!" He cried out. Lin ran after her and boosted herself with an Earth platform that shot her up as Four Arms scrambled to get the Iguana parrot off his back.

Asami took her chance. "Heads up!" She called out. Four Arms turned around and faced his back toward her. She swung mighty at the thing's head, knocking it off his back. Four Arms grabbed it before it hit the floor and threw it at the wall. Four Arms could see Asami trying to lift her weapon again. Her perfect hair now had a few strands over her face. She gazed at the spirit with a tried breath.

"Are you okay?" She asked. Four Arm and felt a bright red blush appear on his face.

"Yeah, Thank you!" Ube said. He felt shy seeing how one of the most beautiful girls he had met jumped in and fought a mutant monster.

The moment would be cut short when the Tyrannosauroceratops charged at them with its jaw wide open again. In the heat of the moment, he lightly pushed Asami out of the way and jumped with his fist cocked back. Then, with a tremendous almighty uppercut, the Tyrannosauroceratops jaw. The impact of his fist punching the scaly skin made of shockwave. Tossing Animo off the dinosaur's back as he landed on the ground. The trophy he held bounced off the ground and shattered. Animo looked at the ground to see two black boots.

"You're going to tell me now how to stop this!" She yelled. Animo laughed at the heiress's threat but thought she was standing on hollow ground.

"Ah, and why would I tell you!" He yelled back.

Asami glared at the man down on the floor and kicked the helmet off his head.

"Well, starting with the fact you try to kill my father, let's try and use our imagination," She said. Four Arms, who had the dinosaur in a firm headlock, could still hear and see what she was doing. After seeing her do that action inside, Ube felt awed.

"That's badass." Four Arms said, making her glance at him briefly, almost giving him a humorous look. Animo screamed for his helmet.

"No!" He shouted. Four Arms assumed it was necessary; his only assumption was to destroy it. Throwing the Trannosauroceratops away from himself, ran towards the helmet on the ground, and stomped on it, shattering it into a million pieces. A red wave of energy flashed over the mutations. The Tyrannosauroceratops stopped moving, feeling its body slowly decay and rot back to a skeleton. While the iguana parrot slowly returns to the normal size of a house pet. Animo stood up and let out a frustrated yell. His plans have been stopped. The mutation ray destroyed years of hard work down the drain. Then he felt a tap on his shoulder. Animo turned around to see a fist punch his face, knocking him out cold. Asami's soft hand was irritating, probably bruising if something cold wasn't put on it soon. Though she thought it was worth it. Four Arms walked over to her and smiled. She wasn't scared at all. Seeing this outworldly creature approach in such a calm manner was terrific.

"Hey, thanks for that, it was cool," Four Arm then slowly stumbled over his words. "I give it four thumbs up!"

He said, raising his arms and giving four thumbs up. He still had a clumsy smile. Asami could help but notice the behavior and found it amusing. She let out a giggle.

"I'm- I'm Four Arms!" He said. She turned her head at the creature and looked at his body.

"Really?" She asked. "Your name is Four Arms,"

He awkwardly coughed in one of his hands. "Yep, that's right. Just your good spirit, Four Arms, is here to save the day, or it will technically be that you saved the day when you knocked off his helmet and made it easier for me to smash. I guess you can say we both save the day,"

Asami smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I like that!"

"You freeze, all hands in the air!" Lin shouted, getting her hands up, ready to throw big stones at the spirit. Four Arms quickly did as she said and raised just to upper arms up. Lin narrowed her eyes.

"I said all hands!" Lin said. Then Four Arm raised his lower pair as well. Lin couldn't believe what she was about to say, but times got strange.

"You are under arrest for the destruction of public property," She said. Four Arms felt his heart sink, but he understood why he was getting better control of his powers; he was saving people. Why couldn't she see that? Four Arms planned to hurry out of there, the people that could have still been saved when he was out there. Asami quickly stood in Lin's way and held her arms up in a protective manner.

"You can't arrest him; he saved us from that wacko!" She pointed at Animo and glared at the Chief. Four Arms was shocked at how kind she was to step up for him. Asami glanced over her shoulder and mouthed to run away. Four Arms had a plan and was ninety-nine % sure it would fail, but he would still give it a chance.

Four Arms gasped and pointed at the other side of the space.

"What's that!" Lin turned around to see nothing. Four Arms saw this as his chance and, with great haste, used all his legs and leaped out of the building with great force. With great focus, the sky rocked outside; Lin raised a stone wall in front of Four Arms, but it didn't stop him as he crashed through the stone. He felt nothing as all he wanted to do was get away; he ran into a thick forest out of sight, though feeling a sense of pain in his heart. Lin was about to give chase, but there was still a criminal to be taken care of.

Animo tried to walk away but found his body encased in earth, unable to move. Lin slowly walked to Animo and narrowed her eyes at him. "Where do you think you're going."

"Nowhere important." He said.

Four Arms kept running no matter what, and he had to keep helping people.

Four Arms was now on the side of the road as Mr. Shi's car slowly pulled around. The Omnitrix timed out as Ube returned to normal and entered the vehicle. Mr. Shi slowly drove away back to the restaurant. The young teen had a sad face, and Mr. Shi could see it, though he could ask about it later.

Many people waited outside the building, wanting to see what happened. Reporters swarmed to get this new story. Police flooded the streets, holding back the crowd. Vehicles blocked the road to cut off other automobiles. The block cades up to stop the people, though Hiroshi is hanging off the edge and trying to get back in.

"Please let me in. My daughter is in there!" He begged. The officer held him back then the doors opened as Lin and Asami walked out of the doors. Hiroshi saw his daughter was fine and rushed past the police to hug her.

"I'm glad you're okay!" He mumbled in the deep hug. Asami smiled back and let go. "I'm Fine dad, sorry about the award."

"It's nothing to worry about. You are my greatest achievement." He mumbled. Asami hugged him tighter. "I'm sorry, Dad, that spirit was in trouble, and I had to help him."

"I won't blame you. And I'd be more surprised if you didn't," Hiroshi said. Lin pushed Animo to her fellow police officers, who held him steady. She couldn't help but overhear their conversation and couldn't help but compare Asami to her son.

"No, it's my award. It belongs to me!" Animo shouted. Animo is being held in metal shackles. He struggles like an animal as he thrashes wildly around in his cuffs.

"Get. It out of here!" Lin orders her fellow officers to detain him and throw them in the back of a police cruiser. Even then, he still thrashes and screams for what is owed to him. Hiroshi's had a sad look

"Poor Animo, I'm sorry it turned out this way, my friend." He said out loud, gaining Lins and Asami's attention.

"Dad, you know this guy?" She asked. Lin crossed her arms and tilted her head.

"That's the same thing I wanted to know," Lin said. Hiroshi removed his glasses, pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, and cleaned them, letting out a deep sadness-filled sigh.

"Animo, me and your mother were all colleagues. We were a great group of friends. We were all at the University to learn to be better and help others. Unfortunately, I learned of his experiments one day, wanting to change the human body to make us better than bending. I had to tell on his unethical work at the University and had him kicked out one day. In a desperate attempt, Animo tried to take over the science department. A fire broke out, and I thought he was dead. I never forgave myself." Hiroshi said in a sad, somber voice. Asami had a tragic look at the tale hearing that his former friend had become a monster. Lin watched the police cruiser carrying him drive off.

"Well, he won't bother you guys for a long while," Lin said. Though she still had a spirit problem, she questioned if she was making the right choice: a noble protector or a destructive spirit. Were they here to save lives? Lin had to see Tenzin; there were more of them.

A couple of days had passed since the Animo incident. The city was in lockdown, and the council members had an important meeting today. It was an emergency called by Councilman Tarlock. One was curtly walking down the street with his head down; honestly, he was feeling mixed feelings about keeping his secret. However, he had to work today, and things needed to die down before he could go on patrol again. Making his route to the happy dragon, he opened the backdoor to see Mr. Shi, who was opening the store.

"Good morning, Ube!" He said. The young teen awkwardly scratches the back of his head.

"Good morning, Mr. Shi. So, about the museum, thanks for doing that; you didn't have to do that," Ube said. The old man let out a laugh, seeing how humble he was. He approached the teen and put a hand on Ube's shoulder.

"Ube, I know how crazy things are turning out crazy, but I want you to know how proud I am of you. I want to help and support you; I've known you since you were a little boy. This power you have couldn't be in any better hands." Mr. Shi said. Ube had tears in his eyes at Mr. Shi's words. "And I have a surprise for you,"

Mr. Shi picked up a sign that leaned on the wall. He spun around and showed it to Ube. His eyes widened at what was written on it.

'Help wanted,' Mr. Shi smiled at the sigh. "This way, while you go, stop crime, and I can get someone to run the restaurant."

Ube was taken aback; Mr. Shi rarely hired anyone, but now, this was the exception.

"Mr. Shi, you didn't have to do that," Ube said.

"Nonsense, anything for you, my boy. I already have an interview today." Mr. Shi said.

"Really, with whom?" He asked. The bell rang as the door opened. Ube turned to the door to see Asami walk in with her résumé in hand. Ube's jaw dropped as she was here.

"Uh, hi, I'm here for the interview," She said.

"Aw, you must be Mrs. Asami. Please sit; I'll be with you shortly; get to know your coworker Ube."

"Wait, what!" Ube said. Shi and I immediately left the room. Asami walked up and beamed with joy. "Hi, we met before. I'm Asami."

Ube took a deep breath and tried to put on a kind smile.

"Hey, it's nice to meet you again," Ube said. He said, trying to hide his blush. "I hope we get to know each other better."

Asami gave a nod and let go of his hand. "Same here!"

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, Anyway, I love Doctor Animo, and man I tell you the number of prehistoric avatar animals I came up with was astonishing. Anyway, I want Ube to work over his personal feelings with Heat Blast before he's field-ready. Anyway, Animo is such a fun villain and I had a lot of fun writing him in this world. The next chapter shall be a fun one. Now the city known as Ube is here and in The next chapter, you're going to be seeing a lot of the council. Anyway please follow, review, and favorite. Also, we got two more aliens left wondering what they could be.
