Chapter 14 Secrets Part 1

Ube and Opal were currently trying to lift Tertax from the floor and turn him on his back. The alien was made out of solid diamond. They might as well lift a car with the rate they're going with.

Opal glanced at Ube with worry in her eyes. "Where do we take him, he looks hurt!"

Ube began turning the dial to the Omnitrix and stopped until he reached the silhouette he wanted. He slammed down on the faceplate. Being overtaken by a green flash, now the form that stood in his place was a personal favorite form.

"XLR8!" He shouted out loud. Now in his alien form. Opal only held more concern not knowing what her cousin was up to.

"I'll take him to Mr. Shi, just keep calm, I'll be back," He said. In a blur, the two aliens were gone. Opal had a bad feeling in her like something bad was coming. She closed the door and sat down taking a deep breath.

Taking a seat she waited for cousin to come back. This was certainly going to be a long night. Then without warning, she heard a knock at the door. Opal laughed, Ube was back so soon. That form of his was speedy.

"You're back from Mr. Shi already," Opal called out. Instead, a different person came into the room. Her eyes almost popped out of her skull. She immediately stood up straight and began to politely bow.

"Hello Aunt Lin," Opal said in a timid voice. Lin walked by her niece and began to make a cup of tea in her kitchen.

"You can relax, not here for you. I need to speak to my son, do you know where he is?" She asked calmly. Opal was worried, there was no use in lying to a person with seismic sense. She could figure her out in a minute.

"Well, you see… he's… He's," Opal stuttered on her words. She was afraid and didn't know what to do. Lin took a seat in the living room across from the sacred teen. She took a sip from her tea and gently placed her cup on her armrest.

"Opal please you're not in trouble, I see you did what you were told and I'm glad you listened, I need to know where my son is," Lin said in a stern voice. Opal took a calm breath. There was no point in lying but her cousin had a head start.

"He's back at the Happy Dragon restaurant," Opal said. She quickly fiddled with her hands, and timidly looked at her aunt. "Are you mad at him?"

Lin glanced at the photos on the wall, silent like a statue. All those happy years, with her being a mother to a child she never expected to foster.

"No, I'm not, I just need to talk to him," Lin said.

"Is it because of what the spirit said?" Opal asked. The police chief raised an eyebrow at her niece. Opal froze a bit there was a pause in her voice.

"Ube told me about his story, I'm sorry if you didn't want me to know," Opal said. Lin took a tired sigh. Though I gave a low chuckle.

"No, it's fine. May I ask you something, do you think Ube is mad at me, do you think maybe he blames me" Lin said. Opal immediately stood up and gently grabbed Lin's hand.

"Even with my short time here with you, you're son would never hate you," Opal said with a steady gaze. "He may have lost someone important but that doesn't change the fact that you're still his mother, Ube, and the idea of Ube holding a grudge, like that sounds impossible to me, he's such a nice person,"

Opal quickly sat back in her seat and gave an apology bow.

"Sorry for my outburst Aunt Lin," Opal said. Lin blinked in surprise. Yet she let out a small laugh. Making her niece have a surprise front, this was the first time she had ever seen her aunt smile. When she was in the room as the police chief.

"You know, I don't think Ube has a mean bone in his body. Well, he does have a temper if you mess with his family," Opal said. Lin knew that his son picked up that trait from her. Hence living in a strict house life.

"I just hope my son knows what he's doing," Lin said. She rubbed her face and let out a sigh. "Oh, I need to talk with him,"

Opal was glad that she was finally having a calm moment with her aunt. Though there was still that awkward energy in the air.

"Do you hate me?" She asked. Lin was taken aback by the question. No, of course, she didn't hate her. It was just that to Lin, her niece brought back painful reminders.

The police chief took a glance at Opal and took a deep breath.

"I know she is lying about being here, just like her mother but she hasn't gotten into any trouble, maybe she isn't awful like her mother but she still, a chance would be fair," Lin thought. Opal was nervous and fumbled with her fingers. She couldn't bring herself to just reject her existence.

"No, I don't hate you. You seem like a good kid to me, so far," Lin said. She quickly got up from her chair and gazed out the window. The city lights are always a majestic, comforting site.

"Opal I may have come off a bit angry when we first met, that's because me and your mother never really got along. I know Ube probably told you that I don't talk about family that much," Lin said with a sad voice.

"Why? Mom talks about you all the time, I mean you're the legendary police chief of Republic City. I haven't missed a single article that was about you," Opal said, then was quickly embarrassed, realizing she might've sounded like a stalker. Lin wasn't fazed but did crack a small smile. Though it did urk her that her sister never said what she did to her, to anybody else. A little dirty secret, she kept buried.

"I'm not surprised she didn't tell you why we stopped talking, always spoiled," Lin said bitterly.

"What did my mom do to you?" Opal asked. Lin gave a sad case on the floor remembering it all. The betrayal, the hurt, and no one was on her side. The spit in her face and justice. Not to mention the constant reminder when she looked in the mirror. Lin gazed at Opal and pointed at her cheek where her legendary scar was.

"Your mother gave me this," Lin said. Opal gasped at what she heard. This was beyond emotional. This was physical, and she didn't like where this was going. The chief of police soon walked towards the door.

"It's funny I always tell Ube that I got this scar from a very nasty criminal. You are right about Ube having a temper toward anyone who hurts his family, that's why I never told him, he doesn't need to hate your mother, I already do that," Lin said. Opal was stumped and didn't know what to say.

"To be fair you're a lot better than her, just keep it that way," Lin said as she finally walked out of the apartment. Opal felt her legs go numb as she sat back down in stress.

She grabbed her head in frustration.

"Oh, Mom, what did you do?" She asked herself. "What will she do when she finds out about Ube,"

XLR8 was running through the city streets. Holding Tertax, it was hard to carry heavyweight, Though Ube wouldn't be dissuaded from giving up. In a blur, he was already in the back alley of the Happy Dragon. He dropped off Tertax from his back as he landed on the floor with a hard thud. XLR8 winced at his friend.

"Sorry, let me just get to the door," XLR8 began to knock on the door. Then the door was left open. He found that to be strange, Mr. Shi always locked up before night.

"Hello, Mr. Shi I need you up right now," He slowly walked into the store and glanced into the kitchen seeing it was empty but the dinner lights were on. He pulled Tertax by his arm pulling him in the kitchen.

"Uh, anyone here," He asked out loud.

"This is Plumber Kanto calling for assistance, I know this planet is off business, but the situation has gotten out of hand,"

Ube paused and heard Mr. Shi's voice coming from the dining room. He looked through the kitchen window that led into the dining hall. He could see Mr. Shi sitting at a table in the back talking into a strange device.

"This plumber Kanto Shi, or my married name if you have any problems, it's Be-," Mr. Shi stopped when he heard the door slam because of the wind. Ube covered his mouth. Making sure he didn't give himself away, he knew it was wrong to hide but he needed to know what was going on. The old man quickly shook off this distraction and went back to what he was doing.

"We need help now, the fate of millions is on the line," Mr. Shi grasped his face in frustration. "No, why did it have to be him, here at all times,"

He turned on the strange device again and spoke into the mic.

"Can anyone respond!" He yelled in frustration. Mr. Shi ended up sitting down at another table and grabbing his head in frustration

"I know that this planet is off, Plumber's hands but I need a blockade. If you don't believe me, I demand you contact the magister, Vilgax is here!" Mr. Shi yelled into the mic. Ube walked forward and opened the kitchen door. Mr. Shi without warning pulled out a strange device and pointed it at Ube. However, the old man quickly halted in his actions, realizing who it was.

"Ube what are you doing here?" Mr. Shi's words struck Ube out of his confused daze. He quickly slung Tertax over his shoulder.

"Mr. Shi, my friend needs help, I didn't know where else to bring him," Ube said in a panic. Mr. Shi's eyes latched onto the alien over Ube's shoulder. The old man patted the table before him.

"Get him on the table now," He said. Ube did soon just in time as his watch timed out, reverting the speedy alien into his human form.

"I don't know what happened to him, but he came to my door like this, all beat up," Ube said in panic. There was a worried silence. Filling the room, Mr. Shi walked and glanced at the diamond alien on the table. examine the cracks and the ragged breathing coming from the creature. Yet Ube was surprised, as there was a look of familiarity on the old man like this was normal.

"He'll be fine, just needs some rest, see how his cracks are getting smaller. I think that's normal for whatever he is," He said bringing much relief to Ube. However, the young team couldn't help but look at the strange device that was sitting beside Mr. Shi's hands.

"Uh, Mr. Shi what is all this," Ube asked. Kanto quickly pushed the strange silver gun aside.

"This all-new Equipment for the store, Asami was kind enough to donate it to me, Just a new radio for the guest to listen to some music, and this strange device is used to take down rodents," Mr. Shi said. Ube glanced at them only to see how shiny they were or how differently shaped the items were.

"Opal was right he is acting strange," Ube Thought.

"Uh okay, Mr. Shi are you alright? I don't want to sound mean but you are acting funny," Ube said. Mr. Shi let out a big sigh and had a stoic face. He walked past Ube and into the kitchen.

"Ube grab a seat, preferably one that doesn't have a giant crystal alien on it," Kanto said with a stern voice. Ube never heard of Mr. Shi being so strict before. Though he wouldn't argue with him. He took a seat and glanced at his hand.

"He's acting strange, what's going on with him, what's he hiding, I mean we're practically family," Ube thought. Quickly Mr. Shi came back with a pot of tea and two cups.

"Here it's a white dragon tea, it's from my collection," Mr. Shi said pouring Ube a cup and then himself one. Ube glanced at the cup and gave an awkward cough.

"Are you sure, it's that I do hear stories that you can confuse it for white jade and I hear that stuff is poisonous," Ube said with a tone of caution. Mr. Shi cracked a smile.

"Good thing I know how to tell all three plants apart," The old man admitted. Ube raised an eyebrow at the man.

"Three?" Ube said out loud.

"Yes there's another plant that looks like the white dragon, it's called the sleeping white dragon flower, it's not poisonous whatsoever. It's a very strong melatonin,"

Ube smiled at the fun fact. It's what Mr. Shi always does to share fun facts that no one else would know he was full of strange and unique things. Ube gently blew on his teacup, clearing off the layer of steam.

He took a long sip and found the taste to be quite wonderful. It tasted like lavender mixed with honey, it was very savory with a hint of citrus.

"This is wonderful, but I don't think it answers any of my questions,"

Mr. Shi took a long sigh and gave a tired gaze at him.

"Hey, you got me," Mr. Shi's kind smile faded when he glanced at the Omnitrix on Ube's wrist. "Out of all the places in the universe it had to land on you,"

"Ube do you truly know what is on your wrist?" He asked. Ube glanced at the watch that had changed his life. I knew it was one of the most powerful weapons in the universe, and it landed right into his hands.

"Yeah, I do," He said.

"And you know that powerful people want that weapon, and I know who one those monsters is, the guy on the table used to work for him," Mr. Shi said. Ube glanced a bit shaken. How could his mentor know that?

"How do you know that?" Ube asked. Then his eyes widened seeing the sudden realization.

"Because I fought one of those monsters, and I can tell you that you're not ready. To face him," He said, making Ube flinched at his unwavering voice. Then in a rare moment, he got from the table and slammed his hand into the table.

"I can take him on, whoever this clown is?" Ube yelled. Mr. Shi stood up for the first in ever, that lazy posture that he would always have was gone, standing in front of the young teen was a hardened soldier.

"His name is Vilgax, conqueror of ten worlds, he's a tactical genius, a warrior thousands of years old, who took countless innocent lives, and you're still an inexperienced kid!" He yelled back. Ube snapped after being told he couldn't do something, he wouldn't give up or back down from any roadblock.

"I'm not going to give up, just because of how tough one guy is, and who are you to tell me this? I fought dinosaurs, criminals, and robots. I can handle this," Ube said.

"No, you can't, you're still lacking experience. This monster won't go down with one punch, you need months of training before you can even hope to stand up to him, and don't you dare raise your voice at me!" Mr. Shi growled in anger.

"Why should I? You're just my boss, how do you know what's good for me? You're the one who's been acting secretive, and strange," Ube yelled, then he realized what he said and winced at his words. Mr. Shi also took a step back and took a deep breath. To calm himself down.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to raise my voice like that, but you're hiding things from me and my mom, I don't care what it is but I gotta face this guy, and if he's just dangerous, as you say, I have to face him now," Ube said he got from the table and began to head for the door.

"I know I'm just a kid but I still have to try," Ube said. Then he felt his whole body go numb as he collapsed on the kitchen floor. Mr. Shi pinched the bridge of his nose as tears leaked from his eyes. Ube was trying to fight off this slumber, he glanced at his mentor, wondering what was happening to him.

"The tea," Ube slurred out. Then he passed out and lay on the floor in a deep sleep. Mr. Shi glanced at Ube with watery eyes.

"I know you have to fight, that's what makes you such a great person, it also makes you great-grandson as well," He said as walked over to a closet, pulling out a length of rope.

"I didn't realize a plumber is on this planet, I thought they weren't allowed on level two technology world," A tired voice called out to him. Mr. Shi didn't bat an eye knowing it was Tertax.

"Well technically, if that plumber is from that lower, technology world, they're allowed to retire back there. I don't care what you do but I'm taking him to a safe house and I'm picking up some old equipment, I'm gonna finish what I started," Mr. Shi said. Tertax gave a stern glare at the man.

"I thought I recognized you, Magister Kanto Shi. Oh, my mistake, I forgot you always took your mate's name when you went on missions, especially against the mud puppies," Tertax said. Mr. Shi walked by him and began to tie up Ube's wrist, especially making sure that the Knottwood obscure reached the Omnitrix.

"They aren't standard issue, plumber cuffs, but they'll do for now," Mr. Shi said with a tired voice. He shot one more glance at Tertax and wondered what he would do.

"Are you gonna try and stop me?" He asked.

"If there is any place on this planet that he would be safe, any person that could protect him it's you," Tertax said finally passing out. Mr. Shi cracked a smile.

"You rest up now, I'm sure Vilgax has been tracking Ube, well he's going to be in for quite the surprise," Mr. Shi said with heated anger.

Lin was driving down to the happy dragon, right now she stopped at a red light. She was in her police cruiser. She quickly reminisced. The Happy Dragon and the owner of the restaurant had been a big part of her life. She could remember the first time she took Ube to eat there.

Flashback

A young Lin had opened the door to the Happy Dragon restaurant. The bell on the door loudly rang. She still had her black hair yet it was starting to get gray streaks on the tips.

A late fifth Mr. Shi smiled behind the counter. Seeing a familiar face.

"Well if it isn't Lin or should I say my number one customer," Mr. Shi joked. Lin stopped walking, turned around, and glanced down at someone behind her.

Kanto wondered what was halting Lin.

"Ube you can come in, I'm paying for you," Lin said.

"Okay," A shy meek voice called. A small child had walked from behind. He wore a small school uniform and nervously held his hands. He was small and had black hair. The two walked to a table and sat down. Mr. Shi walked over to the two and shot a curious glance at Ube.

The young boy quickly looked away from the man. With a worried gaze, Lin put a hand on his shoulder. She had a gentle gaze only a mother would have.

"Ube it's okay, he's a close friend," Lin said. With a bright smile, she looked at the shop owner.

"This is my son Ube, and today is a special day because it's his birthday. I wanted to take him somewhere where he would enjoy it," Lin said as she gently nudged his shoulder, getting his attention. Ube looked at her mother with worried eyes. "Ube this is Mr. Shi,"

Finally, the small child glanced at the man. Mr. Shi only had a bright happy smile. Ube took a nervous gulp and bowed towards the man.

"My name is Ube, sir," He said in a polite yet stiff manner. The chief kindly knelt meeting the boy's gaze. Lin was happy because she knew how much of a gentle soul Mr. Shi was.

"It's nice to meet you too. I hear it's your birthday, tell me what you wish for today," Mr. Shi asked in a humble voice. Ube was fiddling with his fingers unsure what to say.

"But it's not a special day, I'll just take the miso soup," Ube said in a sad voice. Lin had a sad frown, it was something she was trying to help. It was Ube's first year of adoption. She wanted to make it special but it appears that Ube didn't like celebrating that day. She wanted him to be out of his painful past. Lin was about

"What do you mean? a birthday is not special," Mr. Shi put a hand on Ube's shoulder. In a kind grip, the young boy didn't feel the touch of a stranger but of family.

"A birthday is a day to celebrate, that is the day when you came here to the universe. A day that should be celebrated because there is only one of you, and that's a special occasion," Mr. Shi said. Ube felt a spark within him. It was a joy and he had wondered in his eyes.

"Really," Ube asked.

"Today is about you. Here I know what to give the birthday boy," Mr. Shi said. He moved towards the kitchen and began to cook. Ube watched the man work the flames and flip his kitchen utensil. There was a certain magic as the man cooked.

Lin could see how lost Ube was watching the chef work. she'd recognized when someone had found their passion, and it was sprawled right in front of her.

After a good two hours had passed, Ube waited patiently, he wasn't bored as he had plenty of entertainment, watching the chef cook. When all was said and done. Mr. Shi had pulled out a lovely plate and set it in front of Ube.

"This is for you," Mr. Shi said, putting a cake roll on the silver platter. It was a purple cake topped off with three vanilla cream dollops. Ube eyes sparked with delight. "Your name gave me a pretty unique cake idea," He slowly reached for his spoon but stopped and looked at the chief.

"Can I have some?" He asked.

"You can't have some," Mr. Shi, Ube lowered his head in disappointment. Only for the cake to be pushed closer to him.

"You can have it all," Mr. Shi said. The young boy let out a gasp and took his first bite. The boy's eyes widened in shock as he gulped.

"It's amazing!" He cried out. Lin could only smile in relief as today was going to be a perfect birthday for her son.

End of Flashback…

Lin had finished remembering that day. She stopped the car in front of the Happy Dragon restaurant. She got out of her car and looked in the window. The lights were on, but the sign said closed.

She found that strange, the front door was locked. Lin looked deeper into the window and could see a broken chair on the floor. While in the corner of the room, was a hulking figure. Her police instinct kicked. She was busting the door wide open.

Slowly Lin walked into the restaurant toward the figure. Her hands were ready to toss a boulder at the person.

"This is the police hands up!" Lin shouted. She heard a loud groan as she could see two crystal hands rise.

"Take it easy, I come in peace," Tertax said as he slowly got up. Then without hesitation, the alien was snared by a metal cable. Tertax let out a stiff grunt but still held himself steady.

"What is a spirit doing here?" Lin asked in anger. Then her eyes glared around the area, not seeing Mr. Shi or her son. Lin knew it was stupid to try and contain a spirit, though she tightened the wire around the Tertax more.

"Where's my son and the owner of this place," Lin said, holding a stance at Tertax. The crystal alien took a deep sigh and easily broke out of the metal wire. He stood up towering over the chief of police.

Lin didn't know what to do and slowly took a step back.

"Excuse me, ma'am, we're going to talk about your son," Tertax said. Lin gulped in fear and was ready to bury this spirit in an avalanche. Lin knew that these spirits were after Ube. What purpose was beyond her understanding but she wouldn't have it. Her son had been through enough pain.

"Your son is in danger, and I'm not what you think I am," Tertax said. Lin held up her guard and was confused by Tertax's words. Lin wished to run towards her radio to contact Tenzin about this rogue spirit.

"What are you talking about spirit?" Lin yelled.

"I'm not a spirit, and your son is in danger," Tertax said, making Lin gasp.

Ube was slowly reawakening, he felt like he was moving. He tried to move his arms but quickly found that he couldn't. He glanced all around to see he was in the back of a truck container. Ube knew because he had unloaded plenty of these in Mr. Shi's shop.

He raised his head and tried to pull apart the rope but it was on tight. The rope was tied all around his fingers. Making it impossible for him to move his hands. While some of the rope was knotted over his Omnitirix. He struggled against the rope yet to no avail

"Come on, what kind of maniac ties knots like this!" Ube said in a panic. Then Ube could see a sliding window that led to the driver's side. He could see the morning light shine through it. Then a face darkened that light. He stared at the face, who gently glanced back at him.

"Mr. Shi, what are you doing?"

Mr. Shi took a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh. "I just have to get you away from the city, he's not too far behind,"

Ube felt a sword stabbed through his heart, surely his mentor hadn't betrayed him.

"Mr. Shi, please let go, what's happening here? I'll understand! Please let me out," He begged. Though Unr could see that the old man's face had turned into one of discomfort.

"We have to stop right now, just talk back to the restaurant and I'll understand, please just tell me the truth," Ube said trying to reconcile this situation. Mr. Shi shut the window. Ube could hear the steps outside of the vehicle. It sounded like they were outside with a lot of gravel. The back door opened and Ube without hesitation leaped out and was going to attempt to escape. He managed to hop out even with his legs tied. However, those efforts proved to be in vain.

They were no longer in the city but on a dirt road. He could see how elevated they were because they were near the top of a mountain. Across his city was Republic City and the morning son had begun to slowly creep up from the horizon. Ube then heard the truck door slamming behind him.

"You know it's important to get rest, I'm guessing you haven't had a good night's sleep ever since you got that watch. Doing those late-night patrols, it's respectable, but you gotta take care of yourselves," said as he leaned on the back of the truck. Ube hadn't seen a friend who took care of him for years, and now he didn't know what he was looking at.

"Why are you doing this?" Ube asked. Mr. Shi turned around. Instead of expecting a mischievous smirk or smile on the old man's face. It was one of pain.

"I'm just taking you far away, so you don't do anything too stupid," He paused and just looked at the ground, "You're not ready to fight Vilgax,"

"You keep saying his name, as you know him. What are you hiding from me, was all this time just a lie?" Ube asked in a heated voice.

"No! look you wouldn't understand I'm doing this for your good,"

"Try me," Ube said making Mr. Shi pause.

"What?"

"Try explaining it to me right now, I've got all the time in the world. because mom's gonna notice that I'm not home, and we both know how that's going to go, so tell what's wrong, because if not, I'm going to fight you," Ube said. he wanted to know the truth there had to be something that he wasn't understanding. He wanted to give his adoptive grandfather one more chance.

"I don't want my family killed, I don't want to see you be in danger. I want you to be safe," Mr. Shi said, making the boy freeze with hesitation.

"What are you talking about, I can defend my home and family, tell me who this guy is, and I can beat him. This Vilgax doesn't scare me," Ube said. Kanto took a quiet sigh and gripped his hands.

"You wanna know what I'm hiding?"

"Yeah, What is it," He asked in worry.

"Remember when I told you I have experience with law enforcement? Well, I wasn't lying about that. I just worked very far away," Mr. Shi said making Ube very bewildered but he quickly realized what he meant.

"You're a space cop,"

"That's right, but. The correct term is plumber. I know it's strange, but heard me out a long time ago. When I was younger a series of strange events led me to becoming a plumber. I've gone on grand epic adventures that you couldn't even fathom. Not even your books can get it right. you know after a while I decided to retire, settle down make a restaurant," Mr. Shi said seeing that wonder in Ube's eyes.

"But through all my travels of crusading for justice, I have met some savory characters, but none of them stand out, like Vilgax. I fought him a couple of times and almost died," He paused trying to find the right words. "Listen I did this to protect you right now he's tracking your Omnitrix. The farther we're away from the city, the farther from any harm from your friends and family,"

"So that's why? you dragged me out here so we can bait him out," Ube said.

"No, I dragged you out here because I'm gonna take him on, not you, there's a weapons storage I kept on this planet. In case some bad eggs ever came back for revenge," Mr. Shi said with a stern voice. Ube hopped to his mentor and looked him in the eye.

"Seriously, you're gonna take them on. Look how old you are. If this guy was able to take down a crystal alien, what shot would you have?" Ube answered when he found Mr. Shi's finger gently stabbed his finger into his chest. Ube felt his entire body go stiff and couldn't even move his eyes.

"This Venusian Aikido basically, I've paralyzed you with just one touch learned from some Venusian nuns… Ube I have the experience to take him on… you don't," Then he pulled away his finger allowing Ube to move again. The young teen fell on the dirt road with his eyes glued to the floor. Slowly the youth got to his feet.

"Yeah well… it should be me, not you… I put the watch on it's not your trouble," Ube said. It was then he was hugged by Mr. Shi in a tight embrace.

"It's not your fault, and I'm not doing this to get you out of trouble. I'm doing this because we're family," Ube hugged him back as the two parted ways. "Sorry for drugging you but you're a stubborn kid,"

Ube laughed a little and was helped up to his feet. Maybe he should start training if he was really out of his league here. Then maybe he should leave it to a pro. I mean everyone was safe if they were so far away.

"Alright, you have a point…Just don't get yourself hurt," Ube said.

"Hey, I wouldn't worry I'm tougher than I look," He said. "Now come on I'll show you the big guns,"

Mr. Shi pulled out a knife and sliced off all the rope in one swift motion, freeing Ube of his binds.

"Thanks so what's the game plan, Mr. Space Cop,"

Before Mr. Shi could speak a loud hum throughout the area and cut him off. A shockwave that rushed over the lands. From the clouds above the Ship of Vilgax had cut through the sky. It hovered above Republic City. Ube and Mr. Shi busted there with gaping faces.

"What is he up to? He could track the Omnitrix, what is he doing in the city?" Mr. Shi thought.

Ube felt his go dry as he looked at the warlord's ship.

"What he's doing,"

Lin was driving her police cruiser with a suspect, currently crushed in the back. As Tetrax's shoulder spikes punched through the roof of her car. She grabs the radio.

"This is police chief Lynn, I'm bringing a suspect into custody. Do you make a note that he is incredibly large and a bit cranky," Lin said with a hint of anger.

"Say the woman who just threw me through a building wall," Tetrax said as wires held his hands together. Lin shot a glare behind her.

"Be quiet you, and my son doesn't have the most powerful weapon in the universe. You're making things up!" Lin yelled in the back. Then an ounce of doubt hit her.

"My son wouldn't lie to me," Lin said. Tetrax gave a heavy sigh.

"Your son is a good guy, it's just he might be in over his head,"

"And what! You think I believe you for a second alien you're insane, especially for a spirit," Lin grumbled.

"You're stubborn for a human," Tetrax said. There is a moment of silence between the two. Then it was interrupted by the sound of her radio.

"Aw chief, I think we have bigger problems, take a look outside," Lin was at a red light and stopped the car. She picked her head out of the window and her jaw dropped seeing the horror up above. Tetrax glared at the ship with an intense gaze.

"Do you believe me now,"

Tenzin and Bumi were both gaping from a warship. Seeing the invading aircraft invade their city air space. They both stood petrified in fear.

A soldier ran behind and saluted General Bumi.

"Sir, what are your orders?"

Tenzin glanced at Bumi who slowly turned into a hard stare. The general quickly recovered his poise and looked at the sergeant.

"Gather the troops for a blockade around this thing and keep any civilians out of the road. Let's move now!" Bumi orders. His troops began to mobilize.

"So what are you going to do big brother," Bumi asked.

"I'm going to see what's happening and I'm guessing our spirit friends are already gonna lend us aid," Tenzin said.

Vilgax was standing over the ship's sky view. He was obscured by the darkness but his red-glowing eyes stared downward. He waved his hands and dropped it down. Then following his command, hundreds of saucer drones. They had mechanical legs and glowing red optics for eyes.

The drones flew downward and began to fire lasers randomly in the streets. destroying buildings and cars while people screamed in terror.

Vilgax smiled at the sight, underneath his new gas mask. An improvement was his decision.

"Come out little hero, come out to play,"

Ube watched the chaos from afar unfold. He didn't like it and quickly raised his hand to strike the Omnitrix. However, Mr. Shi snatched his hand before it could hit the face plate.

"You're not ready!" Mr. Shi yelled as his face turned into fear. His grip was shaking with terror.

"Don't go," Mr. Shi said. "Please… you're not ready,"

Ube could tell that's why Mr. Shi wanted to protect him. Because he was afraid, it was heartbreaking for him to see his family being so worried. Ube then in a swift motion hugged Mr. Shi. The old man was taken back but he gladly returned the affection.

"I know you're only looking out for me, but I can't stand by and do nothing," He said gently. Then Ube activated the Omnitrix and transformed as a bright green light overtook him. Forcing the old man to let go.

Now standing in front of him, was Heatblast as he slowly walked backward from him. Mr. Shi reached out to Ube.

"Ube no!" He cried out only for Ube to fly away like a fiery rocket. Leaving him all alone. He fell to his knees and gripped his legs.

"Oh, Toph what do I do," Mr. Shi asked. He quickly picked himself up and glared at the top of the mountain.

"I know what I'm going to do, I gonna make calamari,"

Heatblast flew as fast as he could. He was already in the city limits. He followed the chaos and noise. While the smoke far above was a dead giveaway to where to go. He glanced down and saw the hundreds of drones shooting lasers at everything.

Heatblast landed on the road. Raising both of his hands, he let out a torrent of fire. Destroying as many drones as he could. Yet he made sure he was careful not to hit some innocent bystander. Then a Drone came from behind him.

"Not so fast," Heatblast leaped over the Drone and blasted it to pieces. Then he realized he was surrounded by the flying machines.

"Alright, it seems like you guys want to turn things up!" Heatblast said as he fired a beam of hot heat, destroying all of them. The smell of smelting metal and smoke filled the area. Heatblast was the only one standing.

Heatblast stood in silence, he could see the damage that was done. It made his blood boil. Why would some do all this destruction? His eyes widened as he could see some were lying on the floor and a bloody puddle was underneath them. He had brown hair and was a larger gentleman.

"Hey, don't worry I'm coming to help you," Heatblast said, kneeling to the man and turning him over. Only to see the man was dead. his lifeless eyes confirmed it. He shook with fear as he slowly got up.

"Oh no," Heatblast said. He gripped his head in anger. "No, No, No, No,"

He repeatedly thought that this was not happening. He was supposed to save everybody. No one was supposed to die on his watch.

BOOM!

Then a loud explosion brushed past him, as it was, from a large object crashing into the ground. The stones were flung into the buildings. While Heatblast covers himself from the oncoming debris. When the dust settled, He could see a large spherical device with sharp spikes all around it. The metal was blood red and there was a large diagonal line across it.

"What is that?" He asked out loud. While looking at the sphere, you could see how it suddenly jolted alive rolling around. Demolishing anything that was in its path. Heatblast let out a wave of fire but the metal sphere stopped.

The metal spare split into two, revealing a cynical silver part of the strange ship. To Ube it looked like an egg was cracking. Then he could see a small glass window on the front of it.

Without warning four silver cylinders shot past him. Heatblast believed the attack was a miss. However, he was wrong as he was pulled by an electric net.

Silver cylinder stabbed into the wall, pulling along Heatblast. Now he was pinned against the wall. He tried to struggle out of the electric chains but found that to be extremely difficult. He was completely immobile.

The hissing of the alien pod finally opening brought Heatblast attention to it. The red eyes pierced through the darkness. Made Ube tense up, The being who walked out made the floor shake.

Ube felt his jaw drop at the site. The being that stood in front of him was 15 feet tall. A humanoid creature with a face resembling that of an octopus. He has tentacles dangling in the front of his face, like a beard. His skin is pale green with yellowish spots on his face and tentacles. He lacks any sort of visible ears or nose.

He wore a black and red-brownish armored suit and gloves. His armor was spiked at the shoulder and arm pads. He had green sacs on the sides of his head. His mouth was visible to show his gnarly, sharp teeth.

It was like something was pulled out of his nightmares and given form.

"At last I meet the being that caused me so much trouble," Vilgax said.

Heatblast gave a nervous gulp and shrugged his shoulders, "Okay, I think we've met before, was it at the local supermarket, because I'm kind of drawing a blank here," Ube choked in a sarcastic tone of voice. "So who are you? because I'm starting to guess who you might be,"

"I am Vilgax and I've come for the Omnitrix!" He said with a hateful voice. Ube knew how bad this was, he was warned time and time again but he wouldn't give up so easily he would fight until the end.

"You did this, just to draw me out you know how many people probably got hurt!" Heatblast yelled out. This only made Vilgax cross his arms and narrow his eyes.

"That is of little consequence to me," Vilgax said. Heatblast glowed in anger as the heat emanating from his body began to melt the four metal cylinders that restricted him with electric energy. He leaps into the air, raising both of his hands, summoning a fiery Inferno. Then slammed it down on Vilgax. Then he threw a multitude of hard punches at his metal leg.

The punches were backed up by intense heat. Yet he began to slowly stop seeing that his hits did little to no damage.

"Well… had enough," Heatblast said in anger. Vilgax responded with an air-stealing punch. In Heatblast gut flinging him away.

Heatblast was sent crashing through a building. Then crashed through a skyscraper. Finally, he was knocked towards the road five blocks away. He landed on the road so hard that he made a crater. Heatblast slowly got up

"Aw man, how did Mr. Shi take this guy down," Ube mutters. Then with a distant, loud thud. Heatblast turned his eyes up to the sky only to see a very big figure falling down a block away from him.

Vilgax landed on the road making a shockwave and breaking all the windows in the small radius. Heatblast watched as the galactic conquer was slowly approaching him.

"I got to slow you down," Heatblast said. With sudden realization, he was going to try and use a fire-bending technique. It was something that his mother would use to scare off thieves. Yet he memorized the moments to heart. Slowly he brought his fist out and stood in a wide-leg stance. Using all his strength to throw a punch in the air.

A massive beam of fire at Vilgax. The Warlord quickly held his arms up to shield his body from the attack. The flames were hotter and he felt his legs were starting to buckle.

Vilgax only smiled, it looked like this human. wasn't some sort of novice. with the limited time that he had, he used it to prepare himself. Too bad it wasn't enough for he was still holding his arms blocking the attack.

Heatblast was deeply concentrating on his task, pushing back this monster until he dropped.

"Come on! Just go down!" Heatblast thought as his hand started to shake, as he wasn't experiencing prolonged moments with his power. Vilgax could feel the attack start to weaken as began to approach him.

Without any reason to stop, Heatblast continues trying to subdue this tyrant. It was then Ube quickly realized that Vilgax was only a foot away.

Ube had to make a new plan of attack or else he would be dead. So wastefully, he stopped the torrent of flame and tried to distance himself. Vilgax raised his arms getting ready to slam his fist down on him. When suddenly another gist of fire pushed the mad conqueror back. While his feet skid on the ground.

"Sorry to barge into your fight but I'm assuming that you might need a hand,"

Heatblast eyes widened as that was the voice of Fire Lord Zuko. He glanced up to see the master of fire walking towards him. Heatblast got up and walked over to his side.

"Fire Lord Zuko, you should go it's not safe here," Heatblast said.

"Oh don't worry about me, I'm more than capable of taking on this one," Zuko said. Vilgax narrowed his eyes at him.

"This is one of your champions on this planet, how lackluster," He said, insulting him. Vilgax was aware of the people of this world and their control over the elements. It was an amazing skill but he didn't care. Besides, the most powerful device in the universe was right in front of him.

"Well, I was hoping to settle this argument with a nice cup of tea but seeing how you're more than willing to fight! allow me to do the honor," Zuko said, getting into a fighting stance. It was strange for him, being close to this Heatblast made him feel like he was standing right next to the Sozin comet again.

"I have no time for this!" Vilgax rowed and sprinted towards them. Fire Lord Zuko kicked a wave of fire at Vilgax who dodged under it. The attack was so big that Heatblast took this time to get the upper hand.

"SNEAK ATTACK!" Heatblast yelled as he brought his hands up and blasted a stream of fire at Vilgax who leaped out of the way.

Zuko threw a couple of punches that made an onslaught of fire and simply stepped out of the way. Heatblast soon approached him with another fireball. However, Heatblast made a mistake as he was closer now than before.

The swift-clawed hand of Vilgax reached past the fire and grabbed Heatblast by the head. The next thing Ube knew was that he was tossed into another building. His back was dug into the rubble. This block was completely dismantled as even the fire hydrants were even broken.

"Heatblast!" Zuko cried out. Seeing his friend being tossed aside. So the Firelord took a deep breath and let out a giant fire from his breath. Vilgax was pushed back but he felt hotter flames from more dangerous beings, than this.

"Enough of this childish game!"

The Firelord watched the giant alien raise both his hands high above and in a flash clapped them together making a shock wave that pushed Zuko away.

He felt his body fly in the air, but quickly stopped himself by making fire appear under his feet. Pushing him forward right towards the Vilgax who was still on the ground. Zuko did a spin kick and shot a powerful gust of fire from his foot at the titan. In a lightning-fast reaction, Vilgax jumped in the air meeting him eye to eye with the fire lord.

The red eyes that Zuko looked into could only scream death. Was this how it would end for Fire Lord Zuko?

Then before Vilgax could bring his earth-shattering fist down upon him. A ring of water had wrapped around his waist and slammed him down on the floor. Zuko glanced at the streets to see Katara bending a rope of water, bringing down Vilgax.

He landed on the ground and held out his hands ready for combat. The two began to hold their stances I said, were preparing for more to come. Zuko's eyes glanced at Katara with a surprised glance.

"I thought you were going to stay neutral," Zuko said.

"If this was any other situation, I would probably take a step back, but seeing the giant monster that you're fighting, I had to lend a hand, I'm not Toph." Katara joked. Vilgax slowly got up and narrowed his eyes at the two.

It was then he could feel a cold chill on the back of his neck. From the hole that Heatblast was knocked into, a new being came out. Katara and Zukos eyes widen, seeing a new spirit in them. Vilgax spun around only to be hit by a white beam of cold light.

Then in a matter of seconds, his body was encased in ice. The conquer of ten worlds was frozen solid.

"You should cool off man! I would hate to see you lose your cool!" Arctiguana said. Zuko gave a curious glance at his friend.

"Are you positive? That's not your brother reincarnated? Zuko asked. Katara shrugged her shoulders honestly.

"I do not know but his humor certainly matches his," Katara said. The moment was broken when the ice encasing Vilgax started to break from his containment.

Arctiguana ran over to the two master benders and stood with them.

"So anyone got a plan Mon because I've been running out of ideas," He said, making the other two both shutter.

"Well, I guess it's starting to feel like old times," Katara said.

"You can say that again," Zuko said.

"Well, I think I have an idea!" Arctiguana said. Then without hesitation, he ran toward the frozen Vilgax. Smashing his head into the block of ice head butting Vilgax.

The warlord fell backward holding his head in anguish. Arctiguana smiled thinking he got one over him. It was then that Vilgax swiftly grabbed both of Arctiguana's arms and head-butted him so hard. That blue blood leaked from his face and sent him hurling down the road. Katara and Zuko stepped out of the way as Ube rolled down the street eating a car.

Zuko and Katara charged at Vilgax.

The warlord cocked back his fist, only for it to be encased in water, which froze into ice. Katara slides elegantly across an icy slide. She then began to launch hundreds of ice spikes using the water that was pulled from the broken fire hydrants. Zuko then kicked a blast of fire at Vilgax. Even though Heatblast was gone and his firepower was back to normal. He was still the fire lord.

Vilgax was stronger but also a clever individual. He used the hand that was frozen, using the ice to block the attack and smack Zuko away.

The Fire Lord felt some of his rib bones break as he was thrown away and eventually collapsed. Katara let out a gasp and quickly tried to run toward her friend but Vilgax was already by her side and was about to bring one of his colossus-sized hands down upon her. Katara's life flashed before her eyes.

.

.

.

.

Then the air had begun to nip at her nose.

.

.

.

.

.

.

BLAFM!

Then without warning a beam of cold smashed into Vilgax's chest and froze him, and so much ice that the building behind him was frozen. She had only heard of such a feat from her past husband. Avatar Aang was the only one she knew who could do something like this.

Katara marveled at the frozen structure as Vilgax was trapped and couldn't move. Though she could hear the sound of footsteps approaching her. Arctiguana limped his way to her, the ice that came from his mouth coded his lips, and his breath was ragged. The mist that came out of his mouth could show he was weary. Not to mention the wound on his head dripping blood.

"Go help your friend and get out of here," Arctiguana said as he stood his ground at Vilgax. Katara had a silent pause. It was then she realized this wasn't another worldly entity, but something of flesh and blood.

"You're not spirit… are you?" She asked gently. Arctiguana didn't look at her direction but heard the question.

"No, I'm just trying to do the right thing," Arctiguana said. Katara nodded and slung Zuko over her shoulder.

"You know you hurt more people when you lie, even if you're protecting them," Katara said, helping her friend away from the battle. Arctiguana let out a raspy voice.

"I know,"

Crack!

Arctiguana spun his head toward the frozen alien. The ice walls that held Vilgax were shattered, even after all that, there was not even a single scratch on him. Vilgax slowly walked towards Ube and stood triumphantly.

"You have a warrior spirit but your efforts are hopeless!" Vilgax said with an irritated tone of voice. Arctiguana narrowed his eyes and gripped the ruble underneath his limps.

"I don't care how tough you are, I'm not letting you win!" He said. Taking a deep breath and firing another beam of cold. Vilgax quickly ran to the sides. Arctiguana followed suit breathing all over the area and covering every building with a thick layer of ice. However, he didn't hit Vilgax as he completely evaded the attack.

Then Vilgax leaped in the air and came back down slamming into the earth making a shock wave, where Arctiguana stood near.

The impact of the jump made the earth push up Arctiguana in the air. He fell but was quickly punched by Vilgax. He flew towards another building but Ube was a fast learner as he breathed a beam of ice making a curved barrier of ice.

Arctiguana sled his body across the ice and was sent back to Vilgax. Shooting another beam of cold at the Vilgax feet. However, he dodged out of the way. Now running towards Ube with a punch ready.

Arctiguana could see the hit coming and used an ice beam to push himself out of the attack, while also freezing Vilgax again. His large body slammed into the wall, almost breaking it.

He shakily got up to his feet, taking deep and greedy breaths.

"Uh, I'm getting a little tired here…" Arctiguana wheezed out. He was becoming strained. He hadn't gone all out like this well… in ever. The battle was taking its toll on him and the destruction that was caused so far. Was awful. It needed to stop now. He glanced up seeing that Vilgax was immobilized but you didn't know how long that was going to last.

"I guess I got keep him on ice until more people show up," Arctiguana said. Slowly got up and prepared for another attack. Then without warning two red lasers hit his side pushing him down. He bellowed in pain and tried to get up but the drones shot rapid-fire blasts at Arctiguana.

He couldn't even stand up. Vilgax busted out of his icy restraints. He then glared at Arctiguana.

Arctiguana tried to get up but the red energy blasts were keeping him down. Vilgax marched ever closer with his hand extended outward, wanting to clasp his destiny. Arctiguana quickly shot two ice beams at the drone taking them down.

Are young hero then turned towards Vilgax and opened his maw to let out another ice blast. Then Arctiguana found his mouth was shut by the sharp claws of Vilgax as he kept his mouth from opening with one hand.

Arctiguana struggled and tried to pull away, but the grip was iron-tight. The fingers stabbed down in his upper and lower mouth. He let out a painful scream, muffled by his closed mouth. Vilgax let out a slow chuckle.

"While I was mildly entertained, I grew weary of games," Vilgax said. His other claw slowly reached for the Omnitrix.

Yet before the tip of his claw could touch the faceplate of the most powerful device in the universe—a voice called out to him.

"Freeze this the police, you're under arrest,"

Arctiguana's eyes widened in horror as he realized that was his mother's voice. Lin was standing with her arms ready to attack him. Vilgax's red eyes glared at the Human, with intense irritation.

"Drop the spirit now!" Lin said, getting ready to apprehend this villain. Vilgax was confused. Did this female call this Polar Manzardill a spirit? The warlord chuckled and that small humor turned into full-blown laughter.

"So that's what you were doing with the Omnitrix playing hero and pretending to be an apparition from the heavens. My, my, my I know I'm a conquering Word, but at least I never lied," Vilgax said with an amused tone of voice.

"What are you talking about he's a spirit," Lin shouted. She didn't wanna believe anything else, but the truth. That this was not her son. The police chief refused to let Tetraxs words bend her reality. That her son lied to her and put himself in danger.

"Then allow me to liberate the truth for you," Vilgax clicked the faceplate on the Omnitrix, then in a green flash. Arctiguana was gone and replaced in Vilgax's grasp was Ube. The son of the police chief, and the one person whom Lin saw as family.

The police chief tensed up as her world was broken, and she didn't know what to think of the reality, but she was looking at it.

"Ube!" Lin said in a broken voice. While one was suffering in sadness. Ube felt his heartbreaking, Lin sad tone of voice. He wanted to say 'I'm sorry' he tried to apologize to her, but his mouth was currently shot by a stiff hand.

"The most powerful device in the universe is in the hands of a foolish youth," Vilgax said in anger. All of this inconvenience was because of a child. He would have his prize now, no more waiting. He reached for the Omnitrix on his wrist. Having the goal to rip it off.

"Get away from my baby!" Lin yelled.

Then the moment his finger touched the Omnitrix, he was flung away by a bright green energy, throwing him toward a building. Ube fell on the ground while Vilgax quickly got up and shrugged off the attack.

"It looks like the Omnitrix has bound itself with your DNA matrix," Vilgad said, narrowing his eyes at Ube.

"That means you're gonna let me go right?" He asked in a joking manner.

"Hardly!"

Vilgax felt his feet were enveloped by the ground, yet they did nothing as he simply pulled his foot out of the earth and counties to walk towards Ube. Lin quickly bent a slap of earth right at Vilgax who simply caught the earth and broke it.

Lin could see her attack did nothing. She kept throwing stone shards to try and puncture his thick skin. Yet the sharp stones did not even leave a scratch. Vilgax grew tired of these elements and with great haste slammed his fist down on Lin.

The police watched as the hands of death were slowly brought down on his mother. Everything happened in a blur as he reached his hand out to her.

"Mom-," He was caught when a great force pushed him back, while a cloud of dust swept over him. He tumbled away and felt his head hit a rock. Ube was taking deep breaths and tried to get up, but his feet wobbled as a red liquid ran down the right side of his face.

He coughed a mist of blood. He was hurt badly, yet he didn't care he had to know if she was okay. He wanted to step forward to look into the crater, but when his foot moved it hit something.

Ube looked down to see a shiny gold police badge, on the edge of it was blood.

.

.

.

.

"Mom..."

.

.

.

.

Something in Ube broke as his eyes glared at the symbol of honor now stained with blood. His eyes looked to see a giant crater in the place where his mother once stood. Vilgax slowly walked out of the hole he made. Those red eyes never left Ube.

"Now then where were we," Vilgax said. Ube grabbed his side in anger, his eyes showing nothing but a lifeless daze. She was gone and this monster took them away.

"Mom…" Ube said. There was cold silence in the air

Then without warning, he ran toward Vilgax wanting nothing but blood. The Omnitrix was out of power. He would kill Vilgax without mercy.

"I'll kill you!" Ube yelled as he ran toward Vilgax. however, the Titans swiftly grabbed a hold of his neck. The young teen riled up and in a berserker rage yelled at him with bloody rage. The warlord was amused at the site and gave a slow chuckle.

"I'm glad you'll see what comes next, for you have caused me an equal amount of pain by withholding me from my destiny," Vilgax said as he tightened the grip around Ube's neck, limiting his source of air.

Vilgax raised his hand and psychically summoned his spiked ball ship. The ship rolled through the rubble and opened for his lord.

"I'll.. kill… you," Ube choked out. Vilgax threw him into the ship. The warlord quickly walked in as the doors closed.

He smirked as he was victorious. Ube felt his body slowly go into an unconscious state. The red orb was then picked up by the ship.

The Chimeran Hammer then began to move away high in the sky. Someone watched this all unfold and was lost in his mind. While next to him was his sky bison. He watched the last minutes of the battle and he was shocked.

"Ube.." Tenzin said in shock.

Hey guys I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Sorry, it took so long I had to work on some other projects. Also, the next Keigo Phantom chapter will be posted later today or tomorrow. Alright, Let's get this out of the way. It's a fact we need to all face Vilgax on another level. I know Katara and Zuko are masters of elements. Yet Vilgaax is just built differently he going to outmatch them. Ben aliens are capable of amazing things but when Vilgax showed up. He threw him through three budlings. Also, we all know the truth. Mr. Shi was married to Toph, which means he's Lin's father. Toph's first husband's name was Kanto. Boom and not to mention we still have part 2 coming up. Sorry for the cliffhanger.

Also, I have heard some of the reviews just want to say thank you. I have plans for Opal maybe magic ones and Bolin. Also is Heatblast possibly connected to Sozin Comet? Maybe who knows?

Anyway, I hope you all liked this chapter, and you guys have a good. So thank you and have a good day.
