Chapter 15 Secrets Part 2
Lin slowly opened his eyes. She felt her body was sore but found herself surrounded by a crystal dome. A familiar crystal alien was looking down at her.
"Are you alright?" He asked. Lin tried to get up but felt a sharp pain in her right shoulder. She could see a bit of her metal armor was gone as a stone slab was cut deep into her flash along with her badge, which was now gone.
"What happened… WHERES UBE! WHERE MY SON!" Lin said in a panic she tried to get up but winced in pain. Then a stiff hand kept her down.
"You're hurt, we need to take you to someone," Tetrax said sternly.
"What happened?" Lin asked.
"Quickly I buried us before you could make an attack but I pulled you away before Vilgax could smash your body into the ground, you could've died," Tertax pointed out as Lin slowly got up and held her side. Her son had lied to her face, but he didn't do it for evil. The pieces began to paint a picture. Her son wasn't trying to be a criminal, He was just trying to do the right thing. This vigilante behavior made her tighten except she knew why Ube was doing this.
A storm of emotion was going through her mind. Angry, pain, sadness, and pride for her son to see him have a backbone to fight people.
"So you were right… Now how do I get back my son?" She asked. Tetrax took a deep sigh and shook his head.
"I don't know…"
Before Lin could say anything they both could hear someone calling out for them.
"LIN! WHERE ARE YOU? LIN!"
Tenzin was looking at the rubble and tried to find his friend. He had a look of panic across his face. His whole world was coming undone and he didn't know what to do. He couldn't handle the loss of another friend.
"Lin, please, where are you?"
Tenzin fell to the floor in defeat as his knees hit the ground and his head was lowered. He blamed himself for this matter because the truth had been revealed in front of his eyes. That wasn't any spirit that her friend's son turned into a different form. But how was this possible?
In the end, he didn't have an answer. He simply marked it down as one of his failures as a leader and a spiritual man. Now the world was in a panic as a new threat had arisen. He should've been focusing more time on the avatar and not his father's dream city.
"This can't be happening…"
Tenzin's depression was answered by the sound of rising rubble. He turned around to see a big crystal dome start to appear out of the ground. The diamond wall sunk back into the dirt revealing two people. Tertax and Lin who were injured, she was being held by the crystal giant.
Tenzin immediately got into a defensive position, not wanting to hurt her friend, but did not trust this creature.
"Who are you!" He demanded. Lin defensively raised her hand. Making the air-bending master lower his hands.
"Relax he's friendly, A little easy on the eyes but friendly," Lin joked as she fell on the floor, Only to be caught by Tenzin. He felt the blood running down his hand and began to hold up Lin.
"Come on, we have to get you to a hospital!" Tenzin said. Lin smacked his hands away.
"I don't need help, we have to get my son now!" Lin said. The air-bending master paused at her friend.
"Lin you're son he's one of the… He lied to you and all of us," Tenzin said as he tried to hold back his rage. All this time it was just Ube playing them all.
"Worry about your kids, this is my problem," Lin said, trying to get up. The crystal hand helped her while looking at Vilgax's ship while it drifted away.
"Lin your son has been lying to you about what he is! How could you not do something about this, he has not only made a mockery of the spirits but you as well!" Tenzin argued back. Lin in a swift motion. Jolted alive from her weak state.
Gripping the front tunic of Aang's son, staring coldly into his eyes. The Airbender felt a sense of fear, as he had feared the worst to come. He had never Lin this angry before because it wasn't irritation, this was pure murderous intent.
"I said to worry about your damn kids!"
Tenzin felt his words die in his throat only for Lin and him to be pulled apart. Tetrax had a stern expression on his face.
"Enough you two we have to get Ube back and out of Vilgax's hands or else it would be the end of the universe as we know it!" He said, making Tenzin look at him.
"And what are you? Another mockery of a spirit," Tenzin said in spite.
"Listen I know that my presence disturbs your spiritual reality, I'm here to help. Right now Ube has the most powerful device on his wrist and if that mad monster takes it he'll be unstoppable!"
"What!" Tenzin said in shock.
"Right now everybody needs to calm down, we need to plan and have time to heal, none of this bickering won't help any of us," Tetrax said in anger. He needed to make sure they understood who they were dealing with.
Lin took a deep breath and held her side. She grunted in pain and narrowed her eyes at the ground.
"Fine but I want… I want my son to be safe, I don't want him to die!" Lin felt tears running down her face. She hadn't cried in a long time but she was hurt. Tenzin was brought back down from frustration to only see his closest friend was overwhelmed.
"Lin I'm-," Tenzin said but Unfortunately, the air-bending master was too late to comfort her friend when a pair of strong crystal arms prevented her from falling. Lin gazed up at the alien and pulled herself up.
"Thank you," Lin said, avoiding his strong gaze. Tetrax knew the pain of losing family and he wouldn't let another person have to deal with that pain alone.
Tetrax didn't want to see her suffer and there was no possible way Vilgax would leave right now, he probably doubted this planet's technology. Enjoying his victory over this world. It was a good thing he was unaware that his ex-bounty hunter was here.
"He won't leave, right now he's going to enjoy his victory and reap his spoils. We still have time," Tertax said then in a swift motion she hoisted up Lin in his arms. The police chief was taken by surprise by the action but didn't mind it at all. If there were any man she would crush their legs, but this moment was the exception.
"I won't let him take your son, right now we need to take you to the healers of your world," Tetrax said as they needed time to prepare. Lin stared back at him softly.
"You better not,"
Opal was running down the street. She heard the radio had declared a city emergency. The young teen followed the smoke and emergency vehicles that sped toward downtown. Not to mention the floating spaceship that hovered menacingly over the city.
She wanted to make sure her cousin was alright. She ran around the corner only to see the desolate destruction in her area. Covering her gaping mouth from the bodies and blood. She took a step forward and had tears in her eyes.
"What happened here?" She asked, horrified at the site. Walking in the rubble seeing all the crumbled-down buildings.
"Please help me!" A voice called out to her. Opal turned to her right to see a hand sticking out of the rubble. Without hesitation, she dug into the broken earth to make a face drenched in blood. Opal could see a small boy wanting to be pulled from the large debris above him.
"Please help," He weekly whispered.
"It's okay I got you," She then began to pull on his arm, trying to free him, but the moment he budged the collapsed wall above him, started to move. quickly, she stopped her action and realized that he was under unstable debris. Glancing around she found one around.
Opal glanced down at the boy and with a panicked breath looked into his eyes.
"Don't worry I'll be back for help, stay here, okay," Opal said. The child was scared and had a tear in her eye.
"Please come back…"
Opal ran around the street corner trying to anybody who would be able to help her. Thankful she found someone who was in awe, staring at the sky. He looked to be Opal's age. He looked to be strong, though she quickly recognized the boy.
It was a bender from the pro-bending fire ferret team.
Bolin was in total shock at what he was seeing. All he was doing today was shopping for groceries. He wasn't expecting to see a flying spaceship right above the city, destroying everybody. He should listen to his older brother today.
"You shouldn't buy any more fire flasks they give you the runs," Bolin said
"Oh Mako, I couldn't help it," He said out loud. It was then a soft pair of hands snapped him out of his trance.
Bolin turned to his right only to see the most beautiful girl he had ever seen right in front of him. He gulped nervously as she had a panicked look on her face.
"You're that earth bender from the pro-bending game, right?" Opal asked.
"Uh yeah? I'm an earthbender! Why do you want to know?" He asked. Opal without question grabbed by the hand and pulled him along.
"No time, please just follow me!" Opal said, taking him to the more ruined part of the city.
Bolin's question was halted when he saw a pile and a small hand sticking out of it. Opal knelt in the hole she made and could still see the boy there. Quickly she turned towards him.
"Could you lift the rock off him, please he's gonna be crushed if we don't do anything!" Opal began to dig more of the rumble out.
"Can you lift that giant wall off him?" Opal asked. Bolin nodded and got into a stance, making sure his legs were firm on the ground as he took a deep breath and pushed his arms up with a bit of resistance.
Then two earth pillars began to move upward, pushing the wall off the boy. Opal then gave one might pull and freed the youth. No sooner when she did that a paramedical vehicle came around the corner as the emergency workers busted through the back door. Opal held the child in her arms.
Watching the two rush over to her.
"We have this taken care of, you folks need to clear the area now," He said, taking the child from Opal's arms and gently putting them in the back of the vehicle and onto an emergency bed. Bolin ran over to the other paramedic with a concerned face.
"Hey, what's happening here, are we under attack," Bolin asked. The emergency worker looked at the teenager with an unshare expression.
"Beats me, we've got emergency calls all over the city right now all I'm about to say is you better find some cover and bunker down until this whole thing blows over!" He said in a frustrated voice looking through the rubble, seeing if there were any more survivors. Opal had to know if she could find anything about Ube or his location.
"What about the spirit? Are they helping people?" Opal asked.
"Yeah, they gotta be kicking butt right now where are they?" Bolin asked.
"I don't know kids, last I heard there was a big firefight in the business district, that's the last place any of you two should go it's incomplete ruin! Now get to safety quickly I've had enough bodies to bury today,"
Opal and Bolin grimly looked at the man. Yet she didn't feel all right. What was she going to do? She had to see her cousin to see if he was all right and there was one place that she could look for them, the happy dragon. Maybe she might find him there.
She then ran off to find the restaurant. Opal could hear the sounds of footsteps following her, turn around she could see Bolin following behind her with a worried expression.
"What are you doing following me, go to an emergency shelter!" Opal protested.
"Are you crazy? Do you wanna explore the city alone when all this chaos is happening? sorry I may be an earth-bending dummy, but I'm not gonna let some innocent person get themselves hurt!" Bolin said. Opal kept running to the happy dragon. He didn't have time to argue she had to find her family.
"Alright fine but don't slow me down!" Opal said keeping a steady pace.
"Okay thank you, can I ask you something? Why are you running towards the chaos?" Bolin asked
"I have to find my cousin," Opal said.
"Oh that's good but uh are you sure you're gonna find him?" Bolin asked not wanting to be the bearer of bad news, but maybe he was at the shelter.
"Listen for the short time that I have known my cousin, he has a knack for getting into trouble, that's how I'm going to find him!"
The two paths were cut off when a familiar black automobile cut both of them off. The window to the vehicle slowly opens to reveal no other than Mr. Shi sitting in the driver's seat with a heart and face he wasn't wearing his usual restaurant attire. It was different and strange, it was this metallic suit.
"Mr. Shi! What are you doing here?" She asked with a suspicious look on her face. after how strange she was acting, and now that he wore such bizarre attire. Made her question who this man was.
"Same thing you are doing, looking for Ube, Right?" Mr. Shi said in a calm tone of voice. "You want to get in or not,"
"Wait Ube went to see you, so shouldn't he be with you here? Did you do something to him?" Opal asked in a panic. She nervously took a step back. Even Bolin kept his guard up in case the worst happened.
"Do you want to help your family or not," He said in an aggressive tone of voice.
"Of course, I want to you but I don't even trust you, you've been acting so strange-," Opal
"I'm a space cop and I know who Vilgax is, I wanted to keep Ube safe and out of harm's way so that's why I was acting weird. So are you going to yap all day and you're gonna be mad at me or do you wanna do some good and save your cousin!" Mr. Shi said in an angry voice, putting any objections to himself. Opal slowly got around to the other side of the vehicle and sat down on the passenger side.
Opal knew there was a time and place for everything right now arguing against each other wasn't going to help save Ube. She glanced at the back and could see a strange large device that had some sort of trigger.
"Space cop?" Opal said out loud. Mr. Shi smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
"I've had a long life,
"Alright, where are we looking?" Opal asked in a hopeful voice. Before Kanto could answer her, the old plumber found himself cut off by another.
"Wait, you're a space cop?"
Opal and Mr. Shi glanced at Bolin who stared at the two in shock. internally, the old plumber commander was mentally slapping himself in the head. He'd completely forgotten. This guy was here. He was more concentrated at Opal.
The old man then shot a serious glare at the young man. Bolin took a step back, frightfully seeing that the man was not playing any games.
"You didn't see anything," Mr. Shi said slowly, cranking up the window with the lever that was on the door. Opal did feel a little bad leaving this nice gentleman in the dark but was sure he would be fine.
"Thank you for helping me, take care," Opal said as the next moment she found herself being pushed back in her seat. Mr. Shi had put the pedal to the metal and zoomed off to the action. Leaving nothing more than a trail of dust.
Bolin stood there unsure what he saw and heard.
"Okay, not the strangest thing to happen to me today," He admitted slowly turning around and heading back home.
"Too bad Mako not going to believe me on this one,"
While at the docks where most of the Republic forces or stations there and setting up a base of operation. Under one of the tarps, an important meeting was going down, deciding the fate of the ship that hovered above the city.
Lin was sitting on a crate as a water bender doctor was currently attending to her injuries. The healing technique was tastefully patching up her wound. Tenzin and Bumi were standing across the table from Tetrax who had his arms crossed looking at a map of the city layout.
Bumi was stroking his beard considering the situation.
"Fire Lord Zuko in the hospital and mom looking after him, this is some awful trouble, were in,"
It was only a couple of moments ago when his brother flew into the camp with two very special people, the chief of police and a spirit. Lin took a deep breath and held her hand out. Making the healer stop.
"You're lucky those stitches are holding that gaping wound, anymore just to the left and you would have a hole in your stomach,"
"I feel better, leave us," Lin said. The helper gave a light bow and left the tent. Now that it was only just the four of them there there was an awkward silence.
"So was there a spirit in my tent? I believe I deserve an explanation," Bumi said, crossing his arms. Tenzin gulped nervously as he was in the same boat as his brother. He didn't know what this thing was and previously worshiped these false spirits.
"I think it best he explains," Tenzin said in a weary voice.
"Hello my Tetrax, what I'm about to say might shock you two," He said in a serious tone of voice.
"Phft! We're the kids of the avatar. I think we can handle anything," Bumi said, crossing his arms confidently.
"I am not a spirit, I am an extraterrestrial life form from a different plant. That also goes for the ship that invaded your city. The so-called spirits you've been seeing, are the same individual masquerading as heroic spirits. he's able to change his forms with the most powerful weapon in the universe known as the Omnitricks,"
The two children of Avatar Aang were completely stunned at what they heard. Tenzin had his mouth gaping in surprise, He slowly turned around to Lin who still sat nonchalantly.
"I took the news better than you," She said with a smirk. Tetrax raised one of his crystal eyebrows.
"You arrested me when I suggested your son was participating in vigilantism," He said. Lin let out a stiff huff and shocked her head at the alien. The air nomad was speechless, this was beyond anything he had ever experienced.
"So you are from another planet, a world from the stars. It all makes perfect sense! Why the spirits aren't acting like spirits at all? Your son has masqueraded as a spirit" Tenzin then glared at Tetrax and pointed a finger at the crystal being. "How dare you pretend to be a spirit and mock an entire culture?
"Relax, Mom used to pretend she was the painted lady, to help people. What Lin's son is doing and that's alright in my book," Bumi said, though he thoughtfully stroked his beard. "Great it's not spirits. It's only aliens invading the planet,"
Tenzin was mostly concerned about the most powerful weapon in the universe being attached to Lins's son.
"So what are we going to do to save my son?" The Question Lin asked, cutting the room tension with a knife.
"Lin I know this might be hard for you to hear. We need to look into negotiating with this creature, we don't want to start any tension from another planet," Tenzin asked.
Lin immediately shot up from her injured state and glared at the man.
"You wanna negotiate with that monster after all the destruction it caused!" Lin yelled as the very mention of this negotiation was ridiculous. Tenzin looked at a friend with a sympathetic look. It was true that her son's life was on the line and that many people did lose their lives, but they couldn't just attack.
"Lin I know your son is in danger, but we may not even know the catastrophic effects this will have, if we attack that ship, we don't have any knowledge that he'll retaliate more," Tenzin said trying to reason with the situation.
"His name is Vilgax, conqueror of ten worlds…" Tetrax glared at Tenzin with a stern glare.
"He cannot be reasoned with and only seeks to conquer the universe. I've seen him burn and destroy worlds just because they were an inconvenience to him. I wouldn't worry about any of his allies or planetary negotiations. He's not even supposed to be in a world with such primitive technology,"
Tenzin was silenced, saying how big the situation was. This was a warlord, a threat that could destroy the world and disturb the balance. This moment would've called for the avatar, but Tenzin knew Korra wasn't ready yet for something like this. Bumi was troubled like the rest of the group but was more interested in the technological level of his world.
"What do you mean by primitive?" Tetrax stone cold gaze looked at Bumi.
"There's an intergalactic rating system for each world's technological developments. It goes from one to twelve," He informed, making Bumi a little curious.
"What level are we?" Bumi asked.
"You're barely out of three," Tetrax said. Bumi had felt a little insulted by the remark, but still, it was scary to think that there were races more advanced than them. Lin just wanted to know what the plan was.
"Tetrax what is your strategy for saving my son?" She asked in a stern voice.
"I say we take a hot air balloon battalion and storm the ship. We need a jar of peanut butter and three crates of dynamite" Bumi said.
"That's nonsense," Tetrax said, making the room silent. "Those will be too slow by the time we get there or he's gonna be long gone. We need to use one of these air bison. I believe you called them. They're quick enough that the scanners won't register it as a ship. Will sneak under the ship, that's where I'm hoping you will come in seeing that you have a gift with bending metal," Tetrax said. Lin calmly nodded and liked where this plan was heading. A simple in and out. The only thing that mattered was Tenzin's cooperation.
The Airbender was a bit nervous of course this mission was to save a life by preventing a madman from taking power. However, he couldn't help but feel incredibly outmatched. So asking to go on a suicide mission while also risking his air bison companion.
Thankful it was his duty to help protect the world and keep the balance of it. It's what his father would've always done.
"I'm in but what happens if we encounter? Him," Tenzin said in a fearful tone of voice. you remember looking into the eyes of the world-conquering monster. The one that shrugged off slabs of earth like it was raindrops. He never felt fear like this, and he didn't wanna feel it again.
"You leave him to me but this mission is in and out. We don't risk any confrontation," Tetrax said. "However if we do be prepared," The three adults in the room nodded their heads as they prepared for infiltration and one of the most dangerous ships in the entire galaxy. Lin looked down at the table and grabbed her hand.
"Don't worry Ube I'll be there for you… Like you were there for me"
Mr. Shi was currently driving on a freeway, traffic hadn't hit the area yet, but he quickly turned off the road to a construction site. Opal held on to her seatbelt for dear life as the road began to become more bumpy.
"Where are we going, this road is closed!" Opal shouted.
"Yeah, I'm hoping,"
"WHAT!" Opal yelled in a panic seeing the highway was ending, to be exact the road wasn't even finished being built. However, that didn't stop Mr. Shi as he punched the gas. The car jumped off the road, Opal let out a scream as they plummeted to the ground.
Mr. Shi hit a red button on the dashboard, and then in an instant metal triangle wings sprouted from the side. While the wheels on the vehicle folded under it and began to glow right blue making it hover in the air. The back of the vehicle opens to reveal a big silver thruster. That pushed the car into the sky.
Opal's heart was pounding out of her chest, but she slowly relaxed seeing that they weren't falling flying over the city. She could see it all down below. She awkwardly glanced at him seeing how unfazed he was and focused on the task of flying to the big alien ship.
"So you were a space cop?" Opal asked.
"Yes,"
"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked, The man narrowed his eyes and didn't look to be in the sharing mood.
"No later we are saving Ube now," Mr. Shi said strictly. Opal nodded and kept her eyes on the front glass.
"Oh also I'm your step grunkle," He said in a forgetful tone of voice.
"What does that mean?" Opal didn't know what kind of alien word the driver just said but was still interested in what it was.
"I'm your great uncle," Mr. Shi said. Opal sat in her seat shaking her head, finding that to be interesting. Kanto noticed how calm she was and expected a different reaction.

Then a sudden realization hit her.
"WHAT!"
"Aw, there it is!" Mr. Shi said satisfied, knowing that he predicted Opal's reaction.
Lin was currently sitting in a giant bison saddle. currently, she has a radio set on her hip. The animal companion slowly brings them up to the chimera hammer's belly. Tenzin held onto the lead of his air bison.
They moved in so close that the belly of the ship became their ceiling, Tetrax glanced at Lin and nodded at her.
She took a deep breath but her hands were on the cold metal. Then with one deep breath, taking in the cold air she smacked her palms against the metal. quickly, she felt the vibrations from her strikes spread through the ship and she could see all the rooms, all the strange alien hallways. The moving automatons and finally seeing her son being held up in a strange prison.
She smiled as a tear leaked from her eye in relief,
"I see him! He's okay, thank goodness," Lin said, taking a sigh of solace. Tetrax nodded in approval. It was amazing to see one of these benders use a seismic sense on the entire ship.
"Where are they right now?"
"They're on the bottom level deep in the ship I can get us through and avoid any of those drones," Lin said then with a deep breath, her fingers pressed into the metal. She ripped it apart making a large gap for them to crawl through. Lin and Tetrac clawed in the hole as Tenzin and Bumi stayed behind.
"Remember to contact us when you have your son then will be back here to get you, we meet at the rendezvous point!" Bumi said. Lin nodded while Tenzin had a worried expression. The mission was set now it was time to make sure extraction was a success.
"Lin! Just be careful," Tenzin called. Lin nodded as she closed the hole she made with her bending. Making it look like there was no damage at all. Lin noticed that they were in a very large hallway. With metal pipes leading to the walls. Like a bloodhound following the trail of exactly where her target was. She bent her metal boot footwear away leaving her bare foot. Using her seismic sense and pointed forward as she had a determined glint and her eye.
"If we continue going down this hallway will be able to find him," Running for the hallway. Tetrax quickly followed behind her.
"You're going to run headfirst in danger, if I remember correctly, you didn't exactly stand a chance against Vilgax. That's only going to get you and your son killed!"
Lin halted in her steps and slowly faced Tetrax with a cold demeanor. He stood and was unafraid of her though at the same time it felt like a badger mole was also glaring at him. Then the hall they were in began to shake not from turbulence because the ship hadn't even moved yet.
The hall was shaking and slightly moving like it was alive. Lin's hand gripped so hard but fingernails had stepped into her palm.
"Because he's a fool, he tried to bury me in the ground like a coffin. He already lives in one I just have to get the measurements,"
Tetrax couldn't argue that this entire ship was now under her control, the metal that once so proudly protected the most sadistic conqueror of the universe was now against him.
"Lead the way," Tetrax said.
Ube eyes lazily opened, and he could feel his arms and legs were tight. While a massive headache fell upon him. The air was cold and his back felt no surface he was lying down on. He was being suspended up into the air with silver canisters that held his legs and left arm in place. However, his right arm was trapped by a strange blue energy.
He could still feel the fresh blood on his head. wondering where he was right now.
"Finally awake are we?"
Ube glanced into the darkness seeing a pair of red eyes glare at him. He knew who it was but couldn't utter a word. The only thing on his mind was burning hatred.
"You carry a great burden, allow me to take it away from you," Vilgax stepped into the light of the room. Standing with his hands behind his back. The sad look in his eyes. Then more floating drones hovered in the room.
Vilgax turned his back toward Ube as a green hologram appeared in front of the conqueror. Showing a silhouette of Ube and a DNA helix.
"A child I should've expected as much, the mirror idea of the Omnitrix becoming some sort of play toy," Vilgax said bitterly. Ube glared at Vilgax with resentment in his eyes.
"It's better in my hands than with a twisted monster like you," Ube said. Vilgax walked over to Ube, dwarfing him and the prison that held him.
"You hold the key to a power struggle so ancient, so vast. It is beyond your feeble comprehension," Vilgax with great emphasis, raising his arms wide.
"Picture an entire army each having an Omnitrix under my command. I will be invincible. I will rule the universe," Vilgax explained. Ube could see the chaotic flames in the aliens, red eyes, imagining the destruction and chaos he would cause if his plans came to fruition, how many lives would be lost, and how much freedom would be shackled.
"And the only thing standing between my destiny… is you," Vilgax's words were like a knife. These weren't words from a person but from a madman. The floor around Ube began to open as various sharp, alien tools stood out from the floor.
"Let us begin."
Vilgax grabbed one of the tools as he pushed a button, and then a blue blade of light extended from the handle. We slowly brought the blade down on the arm that wore the Omnitrix. He was going to cut deep into his flesh. Ube felt a pure sense of hopeless dread as he blamed himself for all. The events that happened today.
He lost…. And it hurt.
Vilgax slowly brought the light saw, to his right arm about to cut into it. Ube looked away not wanting to see how his arm would be chopped off but Before the blade could make A giant crumbled-up ball made of drones slammed into Vilgax's head, making the warlord fall to the floor.
He slowly got up only to be smashed into the wall by a giant crystal formation. Ube's jaw hung open seeing the attack happen. Then if a miracle had jumped to life right in front of him. Someone swung in the air with metal wires stabbing the metal ceiling.
"Mom," Ube said, not even believing what he saw. His mother was alive and fighting Vilgax. Tears of joy leaked from his eyes.
"Mom!" He cried out. Lin was hyper-focused on the giant alien warlord but she was joyful to see her son was here. Vilgax dodged another attack of flying metal but did it again with a giant crystal sharding against his back. He glanced up seeing Tetrax holding his arms out which formed into sharp points.
"You. Come back to die at my hands!" Vilgax growled with anger. It was then the warlord's hands and legs were wrapped in metal.
Tetrax smirked and jumped at Vilgax stabbing him I'm the shoulder. Vilgax only let out a small grunt of discomfort. He leaped off the giant and sent a wave of crystals at him that collided with Vilgax's face. The line was forced to look away while more metal from the ship warped around his body, trapping him under the ship's floor.
"I'm smiling because I'm not alone this time,"
He fell through the floor while on top were many large heavy metal objects. That fell above him, Vilgax gazed up from his metal tomb in anger at
Lin wasn't finished as she stepped forward and slammed her foot down on the metal floor making the surface slightly cave in as she brought her hands up and slammed them down, collapsing the ceiling right above the trapped Vilgax.
He fell through the floor while on top were many large heavy metal objects. That fell above him, Vilgax gazed up from his metal tomb in anger at the person who did this. From the small hole in his metal prison, he could see the hateful glare in Lin's eyes. He recognized that glare a mile away. It was the same type that a wretched plumber would always give him.
Lin quickly ran over to Ube's restraints and bent the metal away, then suddenly the lights in the room began to flicker as a bolt of electricity shot into the Omnitrix making Ube scream in pain.
"Warning! Hull breach! Power surge!" A robotic voice warned. The Ship began to shake and move. Something had crashed into the haul and the ship began to move. A loud crash noise shook the ship.
The last electric restraint was shut off as he fell to the floor to be caught by Lin in a tight embrace.
He glanced at her with a worried look. All this time he had been lying to her, taking advantage of her trust, living under the same roof, and pretending everything was okay. Now Ube would face the truth, scoring to come in the great disown mensch he would endure.
His eyes began to water with tears. he hadn't lied about his situation. Then his mother would have been completely fine.
"Mom I'm so sorry. I betrayed your trust and -," Ube wasn't able to finish as he was cut off by a tight hug. That made him feel safe. Lin quickly let go of her son and had a worried face.
"Will talk about this later, Are you alright!" Lin said. Ube was overwhelmed with emotions. He had only seen that face once from her. The day she found him and saved him. Lin was here for him and there to protect him. What any good parents should do. Most importantly it was his parent. Ube nodded and had a bothered smile, from all the weeping it was hard for him to make a normal face.
"I'm fine, Mom," Ube cried. Lin nodded and smiled at her son. Everything was okay now, they just needed to get out of here now. Ube glanced at another certain individual who walked towards the side.
"Tetrax! You're okay!"
"Yes, but we won't be for long when Vilgax gets out of there. Let's move now!" He said. Ube nodded and followed behind though he felt different. Then he felt his body morph and change. It was out of his control as he turned. Lin and Tetrax turned around to see that Ube's place was XLR8.
He fell to the floor as his mother knelt by his side.
"Ube what's wrong?" Lin asked even though she knew her son had just transformed. It was clear that it wasn't intentional.
"I…don't… know!" Ube said, trying to fight off what was happening. Quickly he turned into Goop, then into Shocksquatch, and after another bright white flash was now Four Arms. Tetrax held Ube to his feet. He was stable in the alien form and happy to at least be armed with such serious power.
"The power surge must have affected the watch! We have to get out of here now!" Tetrax then tried to race the two out of the laboratory. However, it was in vain as Vilgax leaped out of the pit and with great speed smacked Tetrax before he could react. Lin and Four-Arms jumped at him ready to attack him. Ube was cocky about his strength and Lin was hesitant saying that her son was fighting along with her.
Unfortunately, these were fatal mistakes that allowed the more experienced combat to snatch them in the air by their throat and pin them in his iron-tight grasp. He stared at them with his red eyes. His overwhelming strength was enough to make the two fight against the simple grip.
"I've had enough of you two!" Vilgax yelled before he could even tighten his fingers. A loud crash from the right while the smoke and debris from the crash. There is a visible ginormous breach that leads outside of the ship. All of them turned to see a black with a smooth exterior while the glass was tinned.
The car had stopped while the driver-side door was kicked open, stepping out into the light. Ube and Lin's eyes widened in surprise. Even Vilgax had a shocked expression.
holding a black cylindrical weapon attached to his chest with a harness. Both sides had two cylindrical devices on them. While he wore a strange blue visor connected with tubes to the weapon. All were held by Mr. Shi, who had anger written all across his complexion.
"Beifong!" Vilgax yelled in frustration.
"Hands off my grandson and daughter, Vilgax!" He yelled, firing a bright blue laser at Vilgax. Pushing him through hundreds of walls. The weapon's barrel was still smoking from the blast.
Then he held his stance pointing his blaster at the hole that Vilgax was in. He walked over to Lin and Ube, his expression was a slight relief, but quick to tense his guard up.
"We gotta get out here!" Mr. Shi said. Tetrax got up and glanced at the man who had just put a hole in Vilgax. Getting up the crystal alien sturdily stands up.
"You know this guy!" Lin asked. "And what was all that stuff you were spitting about!"
"It's a long story! Right now we have to get out of here fast!" He said in a stoic voice. The passenger side of the door opened as Opal fell out of the truck holding her stomach, and looking a bit queasy.
"Oh, that's the last time I'm doing that!" Opal said. Lin and Ube both were surprised.
Ube was happy to see his cousin was all right but wished she wasn't here right now. Lin was more confused than happy. Opal looked up seeing everyone was staring at her.
"Uh hey," She waved at them. "Hey, Ube nice look, and Aunt Lin… you look good, I'm in trouble aren't I,"
Lin glared at Mr. Shi who awkwardly pulled on his shirt collar. Four Arms was glad that heated glare wasn't on him right now. Opal's hand quickly pointed out behind the group.
"Lookout!"
Everyone saw a group of drones approaching them, and of course, took a heavy stance and brought down the first two with her bending. Tetrax and Mr. Shi began to fire at the others.
Three had passed them by heading for Opal, who let out a startled cry. Four Arms leaped in front of the Drones and pulled his fist back ready to punch the frost one. so when he threw his hand, it began to change and shift to a slimy green substance.
Goop had taken over and the Drone simply crashed into the slimy alien as the first drone was corroded in Goop.
"Aw come one man!"
Goop's gelatinous body was holding on tight to the drone quickly he thought about frustrating thoughts. Anger was the key to the acid of this form. Then the drone began to fall to the ground and melt into a puddle as slowly pulled himself out of the liquid and into his green slime form.
"Ube Help!" Opal shouted as two drones began to slowly approach her with their weapons extended outward to her.
A bright disorientating flas happened behind the two drones as they looked behind them, they found nothing. Opal's eyes widened seeing Gray Matter crawling on the drone.
Gray matter put his finger over his mouth, making a shushing noise. Then in a matter of seconds, the drone's blaster pointed at the other one and shot a red laser beam exploding its target. Then the drone that Gray Matter hot-wired fell to the floor. Opal watched as the small frog-like alien crawled its way out.
"Hey dork, miss me?" he said with a cocky smile. Opal let out a sigh of relief.
"Yes, jerkface I missed you," Opal said. The ship started to shake as everyone began to try and find their stable footing. Mr. Shi who was currently using a drill to take down one of the drones had it pinned to the ground if the ship started to shake and tilt and the mechanical device slid across the room, he looked at the control panel and narrowed his eyes.
"Someone got to get control of this ship, Ube go help your mother!"
Gray Matter nodded then without warning he just heard what the man said, "Wait you can fly a spaceship?"
At this point nothing surprises me," Opal said.
It was then Ube felt his body transformed again this time it was now Heatblast. Opal was stunned at what happened.
"Wow, what happened? I had never seen you change like this before!"
"The power surge messed up my watch," Their brief little family moment was soon cut short by the sound of someone getting pinned to the ground.
"AW!"
Ube turned around to see Mr. Shi being thrown by the breach that led outside to a sky-height plunge. Mr. Shi was pinned under Vilgax's foot. Surprisingly for the man's age and height, he was pushing back the foot that was trying to stomp on him. However, it looked like the warlord was intentionally holding back. Lin and Tetrax were bushing fighting waves of drones.
"Mr. Shi!" yelled both Ube and Opal.
"Your weapon won't help Kanto, I've grown much stronger than our last encounter," Vilgax then put slightly more pressure on his foot making the old man yell out in pain.
Ube felt his heartbeat panic. He wouldn't lose anybody else. He had already felt that pain was almost losing his mother. He wouldn't feel that ever again.
"NO!" He yelled running right towards Vilgax at full speed and tackling him through the ship's breach. They began to fall out of the ship and were falling below. Opal gasped as Lin shot one of her metal cables at Heatblast, in the hope of trying to catch him.
Though the metal wire came so close only to grace, the fire alien Maga skin.
"UBE!" Shouted Lin and Kanto who both gazed in horror at what had happened.
Heatblast looked down below and felt his stomach drop. We didn't realize how high they truly were in the sky. He could see that the ship had moved since his capture.
They were falling downward toward Avatar Aang's monumental statue. That glorious memorial was surrounded by great bodies of water. It was only a couple miles away from a republican city and into the ocean.
Vilgax was falling way faster than he was. He was grateful to know that this form could at least fly. However, The moment he began to descend closer to the surface. Ube felt his body morph and change again as now he was the walking crustacean water hazard.
"This is the worst time!" He yelled out loud frustrated by the watch.
Vilgax crashed into the hard water surface away from the statue. Water Hazard was falling too fast. Ube had to act fast or else he would be a splat on the concrete floor. Using his hands and positioning them below his body. He concentrated on the right moment. He was still too high up so he had to wait. That window of opportunity was slowly closing in. Falling while knowing that he wouldn't be able to fly made his stomach drop but his resolve was iron.
Plummeting right before passing the statue face of Avatar Aang. The moment to act was now, Water Hazard blasts a powerful stream of water, pushing him toward the nose of the giant Statue. His body slammed against the statue's face. He struggled, trying to find any grip on the smooth surface his body slowly began to drag down. Then he stabbed his claws into the metal, thankfully it was enough to keep him from falling. He slowly began to climb his way up the surface.
"Sorry Avatar Aang but I don't want to fall," Water Hazard was able to reach the top of the statue's head and lay down on top of it. Ube was tired and didn't want to get up.
He just wanted to lie down for a little bit.
"I'm sure he's down. I mean after a fall like that there's no way he's getting back up!" Ube thought this was a time for rest. The battle was over and he had won. His eyes slowly closed as he was going to rest.
Then a large boom echoed from afar. Water Hazard's eyes widened in irritation as he saw a figure falling toward him.
"Ah, you gotta be kidding me!"
Water Hazard rolled out of the way as Vilgax smashed into the metal, where Ube had just lied. The entire metal statue was shaking just from that attack alone. Water Hazard got up from his spot and blasted a small powerful stream of water at Vilgax.
However, he didn't move from his spot as the water simply did nothing. Vilgax slammed his fist downward at the alien. Ube having the foresight to dodge the attack glared at Vilgax.
"My water needs to push through him. I know the water comes out of my hands but I need to go all out!" Water Hazard thought as Vilgax brought his fist down again.
Water Hazard points his palms to push out water to move away from Vilgax; however, the warlord is already looming over him.
Water Hazard panicked as he fumbled with his hands and brought them together, he unintentionally fired water from his palms instead of a great big wave that Wood created from his hands a very thin, high-pressured water stream that sliced Vilgax's face.
He screamed in agony as he fell backward, his face was bleeding blue from his forehead. The water stream didn't stop there as the accidental attack had cut off the right arm of the Avatar Aang statue, Water Hazard removed his hands and realized what he had done.
He was able to damage this invincible alien. He had the perfect form to put up a fight. Carelessly trying to attack that he just came up on the spot again was incredibly reckless.
Vilgax stood up and ran towards his hands ready to shred him apart. Ube ran towards Vilgax and prepared another shot. Then before he could take another shot he transformed before he couldn't even attempt his attack.
He glanced down at his yellow fury chest and groaned in anger.
"Come on, Shock Squatch!" Ube would have complained more if weren't grabbed by his face and thrown in the air only to be slammed back down into the statue's surface. Vilgax raised his claw about to stab him in the chest.
Ube watched as the arm shot downward to his chest, He wouldn't be able to catch it or avoid it. He covered his eyes not wanting to see the blood that would be spilled.
Slam!
Shock Squatch looked down at his body, however, instead of seeing an ape chest, Vil's arm was covered in a green slime. Ube glanced down at himself seeing he was Goop.
"I love this watch!" Ube shouted as the UFO above him pulled his body away from Vilgax's fist. Then in a great flash changed again this time, in a more speedy form.
"I can still give you a run for your money!" He said running in the opposite direction of Vilgax.
"Run as much as you like boy I will still find you," Vilgax shouted. spiral unaware that the speedster was right behind him running at fast speeds.
"I wasn't planning on it!" XLR8 then crashed into the warlord, creating a great shockwave unfortunately, his opponent didn't even move an inch as XLR8 was wobbly, fell to the floor, and gripped his head.
"I'm going to feel that tomorrow!" Ube shouted.
Vilgax started down at the Alien with an intense stare.
"For you, there is no tomorrow!" Vilgax Shouted as he lifted his two arms. They quickly enlarged as the metal cylinders in his arms began to enlarge his muscles.
With his colossal strength, he slammed down at XLR8, though Ube dashed out of the attack in a blur. The surface of the statue head wasn't even damaged, Ube Thought Vilgax didn't put all of his strength into that punch.
Crack!
A large crack appeared on the green bronze, then that crack had started to spread.
"Oh no, no, no, no!" XLR8 cried out in panic. He gripped his head and glanced back at Vilgax. "YOU IDIOT!"
The statue had begun to shake as the very island that held this giant statue began to crumble. XLR8 ran as fast as he could down the statue avoiding any cracks. He leaped from the falling rumble only to land on more. His feet bolted downward until he was finally at the bottom. He watched as years of hard work went down the drain.
The metal statue was split in two as the face of the great avatar was completely desecrated and destroyed. Leaving only the legs of this metal structure.
XLR8 had escaped the carnage and quickly ran down to the base of the statue, dodging any large debris. He stated in horror as the great monument of a true hero was gone. Then from the dust and destruction arises Vilgax standing above his handy work.
Vilgax began to charge the fast alien. XLR8 had dodged many of the attacks but some of them were too close to his liking. Running backward to make some distance from him.
"You'll never escape me, do you understand child!"
XLR8 slowly glared at Vilgax; he was about to put the hurt on this monster. Then before he could charge a large shadow loomed over the entire area. Vilgax looked up as well and wasn't pleased. His mighty vessel was beginning to fall to the sea as it crashed in the far shallow part of Republic City Bay. This area of the bay is ten miles out, but its shallow water was equivalent to five feet due to the rock formations under it and the waves. crazy enough it would look like you would be standing in the middle of the ocean. It was called the Water Walk, nobody knows why the rock formation was there. Some people joked around saying a couple of earthbenders were messing around and decided to pull a joke. However, that proved to be incorrect because the size of the land was so large only the avatar could do that.
XLR8 knew that the others were still on the ship, so he used to speed run across the water and towards the sinking ship. Leaving Vilgax behind, his family's safety was on top priority. Then he felt his body change for fins and began to replace his regular limbs as he flew high in the sky. His body turned into terraspin. His fins had propelled him into the sky.
Inside Vilgax ship was utter madness as were many of the mechanical workers. Then the truck that Mr. Shi pushed through the barricades of the walls.
Inside his old rust bucket, Mr. Shi was driving. Lin sat on the passenger side unfazed by the destruction she watched. Tetrax stood sturdy and unfazed in the back while Opal was holding on for dear life.
"Uh, sometimes I wish I never ran away from home!" Opal cried out. A bump had thrown her into the air thankfully she was caught by Tetrax.
"Oh thank you!" Opal said in relief. Unfortunately, her cry for regret wasn't unheard. Lin and Mr. Shi both glared in the mirror.
"You what from home!" Both of them shouted.
Opal gave an awkward chuckle. "Now I wish I never said that out loud,"
However, both of them were more concentrated on getting out of there. They had driven through another wall and broken out of the ship making another giant hole in the spaceship.
The vehicle lands on the outside of the ship on the water walk. They landed with a thud and Mr. Shi had last control of the wheel slightly making the entire truck drift through the waterwalk. Thankfully I was able to stop the car. The smoke from the ship had blinded them from the outside. Everyone except for Tetrax, took deep breaths, trying to calm themselves.
"Is everyone alright?" Mr. Shi asked. Opal looked nauseous as she groggily got up.
"I don't think I do well with cars," Opal gawked slightly. Lin who pinched the bridge of her nose, today's events were more than stressful. but she needs to find her son right now. His safety mattered more than hers. Then a loud thud was heard from behind the vehicle. Everyone turned their heads at the sound of the thud.
"Ube?" Lin questioned out loud. Though unknown to them all a large shadowy figure with red glowing eyes, looked at them through the front side of the vehicle.
Ube flew over the ship and on the other side of the ship, where the waterwalk began. He could see Mr. Shi's truck was on the other side. He flew over the truck investigating it seeing that the driver's glass was broken and the truck had seen better days. Then he could make out large crystals and Tetrax lying on his stomach. Terraspin quickly flew downward and landed on the shallow ground.
"Tetrax!" Ube called out. He ran to the aliens' side and flipped them on his back. He gasped and horror, seeing that both of his arms were completely gone.
"Beh, y," Tetrax said
Terraspin didn't understand. "What?"
"Behind you!" Tetrax said. Ube slowly turned around to see Vilgax standing they were triumphant as in his right hand he held Opal and Mr. Shi being held by the scruff of their collars. In his left hand was Lin being held by her torso.
"Let them go now!" Ube shouted. Vilgax is unfazed as he holds them like a Hunter returns with its prey.
"I think not, surrender now or else they shall suffer your consequences!" Vilgax said. Lin looked at her son and had a worried face.
"Ube it's okay my life doesn't matter right now you need to get out of here!" Mr. Shi said.
"If he gets his claws on the watch it's over for all of us!" Opal said, trying to free herself.
"Ube don't listen to him just run!" Lin yelled. quickly she found the claw that held her torso and began to crush her slowly. A gasp of life escaped her mouth.
"It's your choice... you or them," Vilgax said threatening to crush the human in his hand.
"Stop!"
Vilgax turned his head towards Ube seeing Terraspin was terrified. An expression that the warlord internally reveled in.
Terraspin gritted his teeth, knelt to Vilgax, and held his head down. He didn't want any more bloodshed; it was over. Vilgax had Ube's world right in his hands and a small tense grip would destroy it. He felt utterly defeated as he had no other options and he never wanted to see another person die again. He kept repeating that in his mind over and over again, not wanting to repeat that night.
"I give up, I surrender, YOU UNDERSTAND ME I GAVE UP! Just let my family go…" Terraspin said in a desperate cry. Vilgax snorted and easily tossed the others aside. Ube you're better than just attacking him right then and there he was already fast enough to catch up with his XLR8. What was stopping him right now from just snapping everyone's neck? Vilgax walked over to Terraspin and tapped on the Omnitrix on his chest. A red light glow came from Vilgax's finger and the device flashed red. The watch was not going to be active for a while but Ube didn't care it was all over.
His family and the city were safe.
Now kneeling in front of the conqueror of ten worlds. Was Ube who had a miserable expression. Vilgax grabbed Ube by the back of his shirt carrying them off like it was just luggage. "How Noble," Vilgax sinkers.
Ube, while being carried away, looked at his mother who didn't know what to do.
"I'm sorry for being a bad son," Ube said. Lin wanted to reach out and stop Vilgax but before she could make a reckless attack, somebody spoke out.
"Vilgax no! Don't get on your ship!" Mr. Shi yelled.
Vilgax snorted at the comment and entered the spaceship through one of the holes. Then the moment he stepped foot on his vessel. It began to levitate off the ground and wastefully moved up into the sky.
Opal glared at Mr. Shi. "Why would you warn him to not get on his ship?"
"Because I activated the self-destruct sequence before we left!" Mr. Shi yelled. Lin's eyes shrinking in fear.
Vilgax tossed Ube in the ship and walked towards the lab. He was ready to get off this planet not before he destroyed it, of course. He tossed Ube on the floor as he skidded along.
Taking a deep breath it was hopeless that everything he did wouldn't stop Vilgax. Seeing all those faces that he made sad broke him. He slowly got up to see a familiar weapon lying on the ground only a couple of feet away from him.
He still bothered why his arch-nemesis would even warn him not to get on the ship. Then the realization hit him as he ran over to the control panels. The ship began to violently shake.
"The auto-destruct launch sequence has been initiated, why did I even have this installed!" Vilgax shouted as he tried to disarm it. He pushed every command he entered but did nothing as the screen went black. The keyboard began to electrify, shutting off the device completely.
Vilgax, enraged at what happened, raised his fist in the air.
"Kanto! You are the thorn in my side!" He yelled.
Blam! Was the sound of a blue laser that hit his back. He collapsed on his back as a giant electrical pillar pinned him to the floor. Ube glared at Vilgax as he slowly approached the down alien warlord. Ube could see Vilgax was almost about to lift off the weight that held them down. Except he stopped when he noticed the barrel of the weapon was pointed right towards his head. Vilgax could see the look of utter disdain on the young boy's face.
Vilgax wouldn't show any fear or cowardice; he would look death in the face and laugh. He hadn't even known his adversary's name.
"Here to finish me off, boy!" Vilgax said with a mocking tone. Ube raised his weapon right in the middle of Vilgax's forehead. He wanted to pull the trigger so badly to end this monster.
.
.
.
.
Though he never would, after everything that had happened to him his past was full of pain, though that's not what defined him. It was his choices that led him to this moment; he was not a monster. He wouldn't take a life, even one so vile and horrible as Vilgax can do good.
There was too much evil in the world already he didn't need to add to it.
"I won't stop fighting ever but if you somehow survive this and come back and attack my family again I will end your destiny," Ube said, dropping his weapon far from Vilgax's reach and running towards the hole in the ship. He glanced down at his Omnitrix seeing that familiar comfortable green light. He picked the silhouette that he wanted.
He jumped out as the explosion erupted from behind him. The green flash had taken over his body, finally felt in control again. Used his flames to fly out of the explosion surfing on the flames that consumed most of Vilgax's ship. He wasn't able to stop but he knew where to land.
Lin, Opal, Mr. Shi, and Tetrax looked up at the destruction above them. The ship's flaming debris started to fall across the city and safely into the ocean. Opal couldn't help but think of shooting stars but it was not right knowing Ube wasn't here. Lin didn't know what to think because her son was gone. He had died. She wanted to fall and cry but she couldn't, she stood there motionless. Tetrax put a hand on her shoulder and was ready to catch her. This woman had done so much and it was inspiring. Right now he had to protect this family. Mr. Shi was completely crying at what he did. He caused the death of his grandchild. This pain was so unbearable he just wished his grandson was here.
"Ube is…" Lin couldn't bring herself to say the word.
"ALIVE!" Opal shouted.
everyone looked up to see heat, blast, surfing downwards towards them. Lin and Mr. Shi we're so pleased to know he was alive. Heatblast crashed a couple of feet away from them crashing into Waterwalk.
The steam from the heat had blinded them. Lin ran through the steam wanting to see her child. Opal and the rest followed behind.
Lin stopped when she could see a figure slowly approach out of the fading steam. When the final stream of condensation had settled. Ube stood in front of them all with a sad expression on his face. He didn't know what they would say or what they would do to him.
Ube found himself being hugged by Lin, Opal, and Kanto. All he could do was hug back as he let his tears of relief roll down his cheek. Lin was so happy to see her child was alive.
Ube let out a muffled joyful cry as the battle was over. He was here being held by his family
Opal was happy this was all over. However, Tetrax and Kanto both knew that this was far from over. Ube gave a glance at Mr. Shi making a hooking smile.
"Hey, Mr. Shi we need to have a serious talk," Ube said in a joking manner.
Mr. Shi smiled and nodded at the boy.
"Yeah we do but how about instead of calling me Mr. Shi. how would you feel about Grandpa Kanto?"
Lin rad rolled her eyes and huffed at the comment.
"Stop saying you're my dad, you're a good friend to the family. I don't know why you even see me as a daughter?" Lin said not taking the man seriously at all. Opal's jaw dropped as she slowly backed away from the hug. Lin noticed her reaction and didn't understand. Unless what he said back on the ship was true. Lin let go of her son and looked at the man who had always been there in early adult life. A person who was always watching her from afar. Kanto smiled and gave a soft chuckle.
"Because I am your father," Kanto said. Ube looked at the two and couldn't help but see how weirdly similar they were. Then the realization hit Ube like a lightning bolt from the heavens. Lin's eyes slowly watered from some form of unknown joy. Grandpa Kanto smiled at Lin as tears leaked from his eyes.
"Hey sweetie pie, Sorry for taking so long to come home,"
End of Book One: Change

Also, I just wanted to answer some questions from the reviews.
Will Professor Paradox be in this fic... YES!
Are aliens living under the city... Not yet but will get there soon!
IS the alien tech going to push avatar world technology more... Yes but don't expect anything too crazy so soon. no hover cars or TV.
Opal Magic or air bending... I know the answer but I'm not telling.
I'm happy you guys love this and just relieved to get to write at this point in the fic. The graduate I have for you guys is more than words can express. So you guys at least can enjoy book one, while I work on my other stuff. I have looked into some fan-made aliens and some 5 years later how would guys feel about that? I don't want to lean too much into it but I've decided to pick three fanmde aliens for the new roster.
