Chapter 16 Aftermath and Truth

Ube sat on the floor in a waiting room at Air Temple Island, and Opal sat next to him. There was a certain pressure in the room. Opal and Ube could hear the voices outside, and the arguments between Tenzin and Police Chief Lin erupted.

Behind the paper-thin walls. Ube held his fists down and gripped them tightly. Opal could see the turmoil in her cousin's eyes. She was gently putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sure you're fine Ube, you had only the best intentions. You help save the city," Opal said. Ube glanced down at the floor taking in the events that recently transpired. The Destruction that was caused because of the watch on his wrist.

"But so many died… I wasn't fast enough," Ube said, hanging his head down in shame.

"No Ube don't say that. You are a great person, you still saved the entire city or the world from Vilgax," Opal tried to say. Ube still wasn't able to get over this doubt that filled his heart.

"I saw someone die, Opal, A lot of people were hurt," Ube said in a sad voice. He remembered the site as he was desensitized by the horror. The sliding door to the room opened to show Kanto walking through the door.

"Mr…" Ube had paused before saying his next word. After learning the truth it was hard for him to go back to calling Kanto by his boss's name. When this man took care of him for so long and was his grandpa.

"So Grandpa. Gosh, I'm not going to get used to that," Ube said awkwardly. Kanto still held a calm face and sat across from Ube on the floor.

"It's not your fault what happened Ube, It's a string of events that led to that destruction," Kanto's face softened. He had then bowed and brought his head down to the floor. "It was my idea to take you away from the city, please is there anyone to blame... then blame me."

"Grandpa I could never be angry at you, it's just hard knowing that I could've been there soon," Ube said. Kanto nodded but still didn't like seeing his grandson distressed.

"You know your age, you should be worrying about girls or driving not alien watches," Kanto said. Opal let out a high sigh.

"Yeah but we're Beifongs, I think normal for us is out of the question," Opal jokes, Kanto laughed at the comment. Ube did crack a small smile. Kanto's chuckle slowly faded away when he glanced at Ube.

"I know you're dealing with some stress right now, I think there are some people here that might wanna talk about some important information," Kanto said. Ube nodded in agreement. Then the door slid open and two individuals stepped into the room.

Ube and Opal both froze seeing Fire Lord Zuko, his arm being put into a sling and some white bandages covering his head. The other was Katara who held a gentle smile.

Ube and Opal immediately bowed down to the leader of the fire nation showing their utmost respect. Opal had only heard stories of them from her mother but to see them in person was amazing. Zuko could see how low Ube held his head. It was hard to believe that this was the same person who was masquerading as a spirit. He wanted the child to raise his head and stand up. However, before he could speak he noticed someone in the room.

"Kanto, is that you?" He asked. Katara glanced at the man with a shocked face. Kanto stood up and smiled.

"Well, I don't know any other people who look as good as I do," Kanto said with a cocky smile. Katara let out a gasp.

"It is you," She said in shock. Kanto smiled and scratched the back of his head.

"Well, you've aged, haven't yah!" Kanto jokes. Ube realized if Kanto was Lin's father then that meant he had to have meant the others of team avatar. Opal quickly made her assumption about Kanto. If he was married to Toph how come he looked so young for his age? Opal always guessed Kanto was in his late fifties but when she thought about it, he would have to be eighty years old.

"You look so much younger than us," Katara said. Kanto let out a stiff laugh.

"Let's just say the jobs I took were in different time zones," He said with a smirk. Then he proudly walked behind the Fire Lord and patted his back. "Hey you've seen better days, so what did you think about my Grandson when he fought Vilgax, Let me tell you this kid is a big fan of you guys,"

Ube shot up from his bow having a beat red face, looking irritated at his grandpa.

"Grandpa don't embarrass me In front of the firelord," Ube shouted but realized he was not bowing. He quickly brought his head down.

"Oh forgive me Firelord Zuko," Ube apologized, not wanting to show any disrespect to Fire Lord Zuko. The master of fire walked over to the boy and gently hoisted him up.

"Please there is no need for this, please stand up,"

Ube nodded and gazed up at the man who leads an entire nation. Opal did the same and was awestruck by them. She hoped they noticed her or maybe even heard about her. It was then Katara glanced at her with a warm smile.

"Opal it's good to see you again, the last time I saw you, you were a baby," Katara gushed. Opal smiled and gave a caring hug to the master waterbender.

"Does your mother know you're here?" Katara asked. Opal had an awkward smile as both Ube and Mr. Shi slightly moved away from her.

"It's uh complicated," Opal said scratching the back of her head. Katara let out a light chuckle, patting her back.

"It's okay, we all have to journey somewhere," Katara said with a caring voice. Not wanting to put any more stress on the young lady. Lord Zuko glanced at Ube, not forgetting why they were there.

"So it was you who fought alongside me. I have to say the vigilante behavior is grand and heroic but it gets old quickly. This is coming from someone who was the blue spirit," Zuko said. Ube gulped nervously, people knew, there was no point in hiding it.

"Yeah it really can, what would you recommend?" Ube asked.

"Well saying the truth always helps but your predicament might be a little different," Katara said with a bit of uncertainty.

"Hey I get that, not many kids have to deal with an alien watch on their wrist," Ube explained.

"I can't advise what's the right choice but I'm glad this power fell into your hands. You have a good heart and a powerful weapon. However I do notice you lack certain control with your powers," Zuko pointed out. Ube tried to play it off with a light chuckle.

"Sorry, I just haven't gotten used to the whole fire stuff," Ube said with a downward glance. "It's just mostly I go with the flow when I'm in my form. I do sometimes use some bending stances when I fight,"

"That's not always the best choice, you may feel free and do incredible feats but you still need more control," Zuko informed, trying to show some form of teaching to the young man. Ube nodded and understood. With the fight against Vilgax, he got lucky. He needed training; it was only to be better and live up to his standards.

It was then he noticed someone standing in the doorway. Lin stood there crossing her arms and had a stern look on her face. Ube glanced at Opal and Mr. Shi with a bittersweet smile.

"I have to go real quick and face the music," Ube said. Opal and Mr. Shi smiled back hoping he wouldn't get chewed out too much. He slowly walked out of the room and followed his mother out onto the outside balcony. Zuko and Katara glanced at each other, both having a worried front.

"I don't say this often but…" Zuko was trying to find the right words.

"What is it?" Katara asked. Mr. Shi had glanced at the man and couldn't help but see the stress in his eyes. Zuko glanced out a window and saw the statue of Aang lying in ruin.

"It feels strange, There is always an avatar who had any era, who ushered in an era of peace or war… It doesn't feel like it's the avatar age right now,"

"Then who's eras is it?" Mr. Shi asked. Thinking he might have a good guess.

"It's hard to say… Only time will tell," Zuko said. However, Katara couldn't disagree with the power that was displayed in front of her. The beam of ice was so giant that it was only possible for the avatar to achieve such freezing.

Opal couldn't help but think of the person who just left the room. With the most powerful device on his wrist was it truly Ube's time to bring in a new era. Her cousin truly had a great big future ahead of him.

Lin and Ube had a great view of Republic City. Ube stood up straight while Lin leaned against the railing. There was a silence between them. Ube refused to say a word until his mother spoke first.

"I don't blame you for not telling me, Any other would probably not even speak a word to anybody. You gain so much power in just a day and the first thing you do is help people, how could a mother be angry about that," Lin said, taking a deep sigh. Ube was speechless; he was expecting to be chewed out or renounced as a son. Maybe his imagination got the best of him. Sometimes his anxiety and worry would just spiral out of control.

"I should have figured it was you, the first sightings were in the non-bending ghettos. Not to mention picking up a watch out of nowhere. You head there almost every day to check on those people," Lin said, musing at how obvious the answer was. The smile she wore when the emotions of almost losing her only child. Lin held her head in frustration as tears leaked from her.

"I almost lost you, Opal, and even Mr. Shi. I didn't want to lose you to that monster," Ube stood frozen, afraid to move, this was the first time he'd ever seen his mother cry. To him, he always thought the chief of police was invincible and made of the hardest material in the world.

Here she was shedding tears. Ube took a deep breath and glanced down at the floor.

"I'm sorry…" Ube apologized. Lin glanced at him and let out a sniffle.

"Ube, why didn't you tell me you still blamed yourself for what happened that night?" Lin asked. Ube held his arm and looked at the floor.

"Because maybe I don't deserve to be happy, I need to make sure no one feels like I did, I was powerless and now that I have this, I can finally do some good in the world,"

Lin was bothered by the words, covering her face stressfully. The only thing she could do was stand in silence. Ube had to show what he was fighting for. A calling to save lives, he had to make up for the time you failed.

"I don't want to do this, I have to,"

Ube then was clasped in a tight embrace by Lin. He wanted to fight against the hug, though he failed and hugged her back.

"Son none of that was your fault, you were so young but that doesn't defy who you are. Is it what you do from it now that makes you a better person,"

Ube gritted his teeth and felt his eyes begin to water. He hugged Lin back and let out a muffled cry. Lin smiled relieved to know that her son was okay. Then separated from the hug, Ube still tried to control his waterworks. While Lin still has tears in her eyes.

"So you don't hate me?" Ube asked hesitantly. Lin shook her head.

"No… but you're grounded for a month," Lin sternly expressed. Ube wasn't mad or upset; he nodded his head in agreement and thought that was fair enough. Lin couldn't stop her tears as they kept on coming.

"Mom, what's wrong?" He noticed these weren't tears of sadness, but there was a somber smile on her face. Lin began to sib and hug tighter.

"My baby is a superhero," Lin said with a joyful voice as she was slowly starting to recover from her sadness. Ube and active embarrassment scratched the back of his head and couldn't look at his mother.

"Aw Mom, it's not that major," He said. Lin only gave one more hug wrapping her arms around Ube's torso.

"My baby is a superhero~,"

Ube let out a reluctant sigh and nodded, having a family moment and one that he would never forget. Ube thought how foolish he was back then, that perhaps he should've told her sooner, maybe that way so much drama could've been avoided. Ube glanced over the horizon, seeing all the destruction that had been given. Many buildings were leveled. The great monument was destroyed, and some lives were lost.

Well, whatever it was at least he wasn't alone and had his family.

Around the corner, Kanto had his back to the wall and nodded his head.

"I'm glad you love your son. Let's just hope you can forgive your old man for being so secretive over the years," Kanto thought.

Shiro Shinobi is a man that one would say would have a great speaking voice. Many people would hear his voice on the morning radio program. Usually, we would talk about the weather, certain events that would happen in the city, and especially pro-bending matches. A cheerful announcer who would always give good news but unfortunately today was different. The recent events that had transpired in the city.

He wore his headphones and began to set the paper on his desk. Speaking with a somber voice and saddened eyes.

"Greetings today from the morning Republic City radio station. This is your host Shiro Shinboi, reporting today for you the listener,"

"It's been a heartbreaking tragedy due to recent events, I take a small moment of silence for those that lost their lives or some who didn't make it from their injuries,"

Holding this head down for a brief moment, letting the silence take over. Looking at the microphone he took a deep breath and spoke into it again.

"No one truly knows what happened that day, officials and officers are still trying to wrap their heads around it, seeing a flying ship in the sky. Questions have now been asked throughout the city and possibly the whole world. Do live among us the stars. The council members of Republic City have chosen to remain silent until they have found a more substantial answer,"

Shiro flipped through his page and cleared his throat. Finding it hard to speak.

"We've truly gone through a great endeavor, but it wasn't all grim. Many accounts of reporters have said that the fire Lord himself approached the city to face the situation along with our friendly spirits that kept on defending us. The ship did leave eventually and even crashed into the harbor, my guess is the good old spirits of the city gave. Whatever was on that UFO a good wallop,"

"Stay safe people and please remember to keep those you love safe. Reconstruction has begun in the residential area. Food and shelter have been offered to those who need it. And remember folks we are the greatest city in the world not because of our technological achievement or who we are, it's because deep down we will always help one another. This Shiro Shinboi signing off,"

Jin stood on a Balcony, The Location he was in right now was the middle-class section of the city. It was surely nice but not higher-up rich. He gripped the metal railing with a firm grip and stared out into the construction.

Calmly looking into the work being down, silently watching. The door to the Balcony opened to reveal Shin walking by his boss and looking at the same site.

"It's truly unfortunate what happened here," Shin admitted. Jin nodded and let out a tired sigh.

"You think you've seen it all but somehow the world keeps on surprising you," Jin said, pulling out a smoking pipe from his coat pocket. He grabbed a container on the side, pushing the herd down in the hole and giving a small ember to it with his finger.

Taking a big whiff of the smoking pipe he blew outward a large cloud of smoke. Shin pulled his out and tried to find a match but Jin offered one of his fingers lit with a flame.

"Huh, thanks," Shin put his pipe to the fire, catching an ember.

"No problem,"

Shin glanced at the construction apparently from his inside resources and the death toll had reached an astounding ten. Yet a hundred people were injured.

"You know Zolt would have taken over the construction team with his own, rent the buildings out for an easy price then the taxes would come, and he would gouge out any of the people living in there," Shin took a big puff of smoke. Jin momentarily shook his head.

"So what are you going to do?" He asked calmly. Shin calmly glanced down at the rubble and destruction.

"Nothing, stuff like that is just to~," Shin tailed off with his words. Trying to find the right description of a deprived act.

"Pathetic," Shin said.

"I was going to say undignified, but let's go with your answer," Shin let out another puff of smoke.

"I understand where you're coming from. I don't wanna rule the rubble. I need to rule over the city. tell any of the gang members that if they try to take advantage of this, there will be heavy consequences. Were criminals, not monsters,"

"It has already been done, I'm not the only gang leader who ordered that there is gonna be a cease-fire for the next week, give us time to get ourselves together," Shin said. Then glanced back at Jin seeing that he wasn't looking at the construction but more towards the large formation of ice that covered an entire building.

"You're still mad about the ice lizard that beat you," Shin said, making Jin irritatiously glance at him. The gangster was unafraid, and he simply shrugged his shoulders.

"What? word gets around. Let's face it, this city is going down the drain. The people are not afraid of us anymore, and those equalist guys have certainly taken up most of the territory. The other gangs are starting to wise up, and I doubt will make it another week before someone takes us out," Shin said. Jin then glanced up at him with a smirk.

"So what's your plan, boss?" He asked mockingly, knowing full well he was in charge. Shin had a serious look on his face. The master fire bender couldn't help but think did this guy grow a spinal all of a sudden

"I'm tired of being laughed at and mocked. I'm tired of ruling with fear. I want to rule with respect and power. So tell me how we're gonna bring back the forever Shogan?" He asked. Jin stood up straight and rolled his shoulder.

"We clean house, ourselves, and the gang members. If we want the people's respect we slay the monsters and we act better than the common thief. I shall learn from the forever Shogun, and we will be better than that. Our strength and numbers shall make the police force bend to their knees when we walk down the streets, people will bow down to us. Not in fear but in appreciation showing their gratitude for our strength. We shall build not the forever Shogan but something better," Jin announced with such pride and unwavering determination that Shin felt inspired.

"We will honor the strong, the loyal, and the honorable. This new organization shall be called the Forever Yakuza," Jin stated into Shin's eyes showing that glint of power in his stare.

"Now come on boss, let's make this city into a kingdom worthy of that title!" Jin said with a prideful smirk. Shin felt sparks of inspiration lit a fire within. Here is a man who was declaring leadership: you had to be crazy or just that darn good. Shin smirked and puffed out a cloud of smoke.

"Then let's do it, boss,"

Tenzin sat patiently in his study trying to meditate. However, the man couldn't even think of a calm thought. The lies of someone pretending to be a spirit, Aliens from other worlds attacking the city and to top it off, a spit in the face. The destruction of the avatar Aang statue. Symbol of community in peace, destroyed.

It took years to build that monument to one of the greatest avatars ever. Now it was gone and it was all thanks to a boy and a watch.

The door opened to his study showing Tetrax and Kanto walking into the room. Right behind them was Ube who had a guilty face. He cleared his throat and bowed his head to the master bender.

"Hello Master Tenzin, I came to apologize for my action," Ube said raising his head, having guilt written all over his face.

"I know I have insulted you and your culture. I apologize for that, but I was doing all this for the right reason. These people in the slums needed someone to protect them. I had just gotten this amazing power out of nowhere and what was I supposed to do? Just leave them," Ube said. Tertax and Mr. Shi both looked at him with surprised looks but understood where was coming from.

Tenzin stressful rubbing his bald head, it was clear he was trying to keep himself calm and collected but things weren't that easy to discuss.

"Ube do you have any idea what just happened? Because when you put on that watch, the destruction that was caused, can you begin to fathom the people's homes that have been destroyed," Tenzin took a deep breath and gripped his hands.

"I've arranged for the white lotus to guard and escort you constantly, I've argued that we should take that thing off your wrist but seeing that it is attached to you, this is the best option for everyone," Tenzin said. Ube flinched at his words. Looking away nervously, Kanto and Tetrax both narrow their eyes at the air master. This was overly harsh behavior and was childish.

"Well I mean it's not that bad," Ube said awkwardly. Tenzin flushed with red anger.

"Not bad… One of the wonders of the world has been destroyed and you say it's NOT BAD!" Tenzin yelled in a bloody rage. Ube shrugged his shoulder and tried to play it off.

"Well, I technically didn't destroy it. The big alien warlord did," He clarified. Tenzin's frustration was about to go through the roof.

"This all happened because you put that thing on, you have to stop this now," Tenzin ordered. Ube shyness and timid front suddenly washed away. Replaced now with a stern hardened expression.

"I thought I told you at the banquet, I am never gonna stop trying to save people ever. If you hate me, that's fine, but I'm gonna keep doing what I need to do," Ube said making the Airbender pause. Ube steps forward facing the councilmember.

"And don't act like this entire thing was personal. This is all a matter of circumstances that I am doing the best I can in. I still hate you when you broke my mom's heart, but I've learned to push those feelings aside to move forward, you should do that too. I hear air nomads are detached for a reason," Ube said, making Tenzin silent.

"Dang, you could've put it in nicer terms, but I think he gets the point," Kanto said.

"I wouldn't worry about any training, We talked it over with Lin and I wish to help Ube use his powers more efficiently, While also teaching him more about his alien forms," Tetrax said. Ube eyes widened in joy, this was the first time he had even heard about this. It was something he wanted to do, have a master who knew how to help him.

He would have screamed in joy but knew that now probably wasn't the right time. Tenzin was at a loss for words, things were changing greatly and the avatar had nothing to do with it. Ube gave a lazy smile at the man.

"Well I know it going to be hard but listen, I won't use this power for evil or anything like that, I'm just trying to do the right thing and at the end of the day that's all that matters, I might not always be there... That doesn't mean I won't try." Ube let out a loud sigh and smiled. "Listen I've said everything I need you to hear but my answer is simple, I'm never going to stop. So I'll see you out there tomorrow."

Ube walked out of the room as Tetrax followed along. Leaving only Kanto and Tenzin behind. The Airbender was stunned but couldn't say anything. Ube's answer wasn't that of a reckless child but a determined man who was willing to protect others whatever it took. Tenzin sighed in defeat not remembering the shy boy all those years ago, who hid behind his mother's leg when he was sacred. Kanto laughed a bit making Tenzin bring his attention towards him.

"And who are you?" Tenzin asked. Kanto laughed and boldly put a hand on his shoulder. Tenzin raised an eyebrow at the man, they botched faced the door.

"Oh sorry I'm Kanto, I own that little restaurant the happy dragon. Also the proud father of Lin and Grandfather to Ube,"

Tenzin eyes widened in shock this was Lin long long-lost father, the one Toph would never mention a word about.

"Hello sir it's honor-"

"Let me stop you right there, Mr. I dumped my girlfriend for a younger woman who wanted children and almost sold out my grandson to a warlord. You and I are going to have a couple of words, I think you might want to close the door," Kanto said in a calm tone of voice. Making Tenzin gulp. Seeing a fake smile on the man's face.

Opal was sitting alone in a room she was staring at the full moon tonight from the open window. She couldn't help but think about all the events that happened. While also wondering what they would do to her now that the truth was out. The door opened to reveal Ube who had a smile on his face.

"Hey cousin, are you doing alright?" Ube asked. Opal had crossed her arms and sulked on her knees. Ube watched his cousin turn into a sad mess.

"Hey, it's alright. I know all this Vilgax stuff-,"

"No, it's not that," Opal quickly interjected, She loved the adventure it brought some form of excitement to her life. "It's just now that Aunt Lin knows the truth, What's going to happen to me,"

Ube knew how strict his mother was and yet he knew what the outcome would be.

"How about you ask me?"

Opal and Ube froze in fear both slowly turning towards the door and seeing Lin leaning on the paper door. Opal was uncomfortable and slowly moved to her knees trying to get into an apologetic bow however Lin raised her hand, stopping her from speaking.

"You know my sister can be a handful at times, just didn't think she drove her kids crazy," Lin joked slowly sitting down across from her. Opal felt tears leak from those amber eyes and gritted her teeth.

"Aunt Lin I'm so sorry that I lie-,"

"Opal I'm not mad at you," Lin calmly said. "You're safe that's all that matters,"

Opal wiped away her tears and took a nervous gulp. Lin then offered her hand to Opal, and the young girl was confused by the gesture. She accepted it, but the moment she touched the hand, it was grasped in a firm grip, only to be brought in by a hug. Lin smiled and deepened the hug more.

"Opal I'm sorry for my hostile suspicions towards you, please. I know you're not your mother. Just promise me you'll do good for others and won't hurt this family," Lin said. Opal felt a sense of relief wash over her. Lynn was more than just the chief police from all the stories she heard. This woman was her hero. The two soon departed from the hug.

"You're not going tell my mother?" She asked innocently.

"Unfortunately yes I do have to inform her you're here. You're still her baby girl and if there are any issues, you have to work it out. Trust me you don't wanna resent your whole life," Lin said learning from experience. Opal held their head down in shame. She was gonna go back to that mansion back to the metal clan where she would just be locked in her room, watching the world go by.

"But… I unfortunately do have to ground you. So your mother would perfectly understand why you would have to stay," Lin said with a stern voice. Opal gasped and glanced at Lin, this wasn't just about a punishment. Her aunt had finally accepted her and was letting her stay at her house.

"You mean it, Mom she can stay?" Ube asked with excitement. Lin silently nodded.

"Yes, she can stay but you're going to expect a visit from your aunt," Lin said with a hint of regret in voice. Ube and Opal jumped in the air with excitement.

"Summer fun here we come!" Ube shouted. Opal let out a giggle and shook her head at the bombastic nature of Ube.

"Dork," Opal giggled. Ube smirked and bent forward looking down at Opal.

"At Least I'm not a dweeb like you!" Ube remarked only for a cushion pillow to knock into his face, Ube fell onto his butt. "Oh, it is on!" Ube shouted as she grabbed a pillow and tossed it at Opal colliding with her face.

Lin had to hold in her laugh as she should begin to leave the two to their pillow fight. Outside the door, Kanto quickly stuttered and greeted her.

"Uh, hey, could I talk to you?" Kanto set awkwardly. He had been in his daughter's life for such a long time, but never admitted he was the Her father. Lin wanted to be angry at the man, but she couldn't for the longest time in her life. Lin thought her father had abandoned her but he hid in front of her the entire time.

Watching making sure she was safe, always lending a hand when he could what she would always thought was just a friendly stranger was the love of her father. Now that this man had revealed himself, she wasn't sure what to think. Lin felt uncomfortable and held her arms. She didn't wanna look at Kanto.

"I just need some space, you can see Ube and Opal but I need time," Lin said. Kanto smiled and nodded at her daughter.

"I know no apologies gonna cut for all the shit I put you through but whenever you're ready, my door is open to you anytime, and... you can ask any question you want," Kanto said as he was trying to hold back his tears. For the first time in Kanto's long career. He was able to finally say hello to his little shooting star. Lin gave a gentle glance behind her shoulder and looked at the two youths laughing and messing around in the other room. All Lin everyone it was a family, a true one that would be honest with her. Now she had it and it was amazing to be part of it.

"I wouldn't mind stopping by the happy dragon for a bite to eat one day," Lin said then finally left the man alone in the hallway. Kanto looked down and felt a tear leak from his eyes.

"I'm so proud of you," He quietly said to himself.

Many across the world had heard of what had transpired in Republic City, Many thought it was a hoax others were stunned. However, one thing was for certain the stories of a heroic spirit spread like wildfire. This was a new age not of an avatar, but of a kind young man who changed the world.

Though deep in the heart of the spirit world, it crawled on many legs and smiled with its many faces. In a cave where no one dared enter. One being moved and wiggled in joy. A long centipede of unimaginable length. A horror that crawled throughout the cave.

"It's been a long time since an invader came to this world, I think it's about time to add to my collation," His voice flickered with a glee like no other.

"I know it's been a rather long time since I was in the human world, I think it's time I should drop by,"

Koh the Face stealer. The last spirit you ever want to see.
