Chapter 2: Team Rainbow Rocket's Mission

The rangers followed Clevell through the fields of the South Province (Area One). The rangers were enthralled as Clevell caught them up on everything about the world of Pokémon. Keeping their mission a secret, Billy was curious to know what other Pokémon exist in this world. However, as Clevell mentioned, it's a mystery. The path heading to Los Platos was nice. The houses were white with brown and orange roofings. As they headed toward a house, the rangers sat down as Clevell grinned, "So, now that you know about Pokémon and what they do…. What brings you to Paldea?"

Billy placed his hands in his pocket, ready to speak, "So… Team Rainbow Rocket?"

Clevell froze as he turned around silently, "What do you know about them?"

"Well, they did ambush us," said Aisha, "We don't know a lot about them."

Clevell sighed as he turned to the team. He looked at one of the homes. Unlocking the door, Clevell opened it as Billy and the others headed toward the main entrance. Clevell looked over as three Pokémon were looking at them, "They were after these three."

Billy crouched down on one knee as he noticed a white duckling-like Pokémon. It has a yellow beak and blue eyes and a large teal coif-like crest that covers its head, with a feathery tuft in the front and a white curvy line shaped like a wave. It also has teal webbed feet. The Pokémon next to the duckling was a bipedal crocodile with a mostly red body and a white stomach and face. Its body contained a small flame sac, which constantly leaked fire energy due to its size. There were two bright yellow tufts of flame on top of its head. Finally, a cat was looking up at the rangers. Its pink eyes and smiling face were shown, covered in pale green fur. It had green ears with pale green insides, a tuft on the fur on the front of its chest and a green marking around the eyes and nose that resembled leaves.

"These are beautiful Pokémon," said Minh, crouching down to look at them, "They are after these guys?"

"Yes, Team Rainbow Rocket from what I've heard, capture Pokémon to be used for Robo-Zedd's experiments… to create monsters," Clevell responded, "And they have already been attacking this area and other parts of the world."

"What do you mean other parts of the world?" asked Adam.

"Team Rainbow Rocket is a secret organization and now that Robo-Zedd found it… it's only a matter of time until all will fall," he said, looking at the townspeople, "Many don't know about this but it's only a matter of time."

"They think everything is normal," said Kat, looking down at the ground, noticing the cat Pokémon petting her hand.

Minh turned around as she looked at the rangers, "Well, what are we doing standing around? We can beat Team Rainbow Rocket! All we need to do is morph and kick their butts!"

"I wish it were that simple, Minh… but we don't even know our morphers work in this world," said Billy.

"Well, I can tell you for sure that the monsters made by Robo-Zedd are ferocious," said Clevell, sighing as he looked up. He turned around as he noticed Aisha sitting down, seeing her Pawni. Aisha was giving Pawni something that Clevell gave her to feed her Pokémon. It was brown and yellow food, which supported electric types. It made sense as she turned around to look at them, "How about this?"

Clevell grinned as he stood up, looking at the rangers, "These three Pokémon possess powers beyond belief. I don't want Team Rainbow Rocket to also harm anyone. Why don't three of you take them?"

Zack laughed, "We're only here to beat Robo-Zedd, Clevell, not here to raise Pokémon."

"But who knows how long we'll be here," Aisha said, looking at Pawni. Pawni was smiling as its yellow cheeks were rubbing along Aisha's face, "And I'm really attached to this Pokémon."

"Well," said Rocky, looking at Clevell. He then turned around as he saw the crocodile hobble over, staring at him with his mouth open. Rocky grinned as he crouched down, "This Pokémon isn't that bad… well, I mean we don't know how long it will be to take down Robo-Zedd. We can have some fun."

Billy shook his head as he turned to the duckling. The duckling looked at him as it flipped its hair. Looking up, Billy knelt as he shook his head, "I don't understand, but maybe it's logical."

"Well, it seems that the Pokémon have already chosen their partner," said Clevell, pushing his glasses up, grinning with a smile. Clevell looked up as he noticed the cat already on top of Kat's shoulder. Kat turned around as she looked at Clevell, "Yeah, it's beautiful."

"She's beautiful. This is Sprigatito. The Grass Cat Pokémon. The Pokémon functions best when she is in the sun. It is a wonderful grass type!"

"Sprigatito?" asked Rocky, laughing, "You should call it PC."

The rangers turned to him as Rocky chuckled. Before Kat was a ranger, she was one of Rita's henchmen by turning into a cat named PC. Kat never wanted it mentioned. The rangers didn't find it that funny. As Rocky was silent, he turned around as he saw the crocodile laughing at him, rolling on the floor.

"You think I'm funny, don't ya?" he said, touching his belly. The crocodile looked up as he released a burst of flames, touching his face. Rocky grinned as he looked up, "Never mind."

"That's Fuecoco. The Fire Croc Pokémon. He's a lot of fun, can be rambunctious."

Billy turned around as he noticed the duckling. As he picked it up, the duckling was smiling as it was looking at him. It then turned around as it started walking away. Flipping its hair, it started running off.

"What the -?" asked Billy.

"Quaxly. He is the Duckling Pokémon. He is very careful about his hair… and he's very scared of humans."

"Let me guess… Team Rainbow Rocket?" asked Adam.

"Correct," Clevell said, "He was captured by them before I can stop them. Now, he will never look at a human again."

Clevell turned around as he knelt, looking at Quaxly. Quaxly stumbled as he walked away from Clevell, then turned to Billy. Billy nodded as he crouched down, "Hey, I think together we can be an incredible team."

Quaxly turned his head away. As Billy went to reach his hand, Quaxly jumped up as it flipped its arms, releasing blue bubbles. Billy was hit as Quaxly started running away from the area. Clevell turned around as he looked at Quaxly, heading out the door.

"Quaxly!"

"We'll go get him!" said Billy, "Let's go, guys."

The rangers nodded as they were heading toward the exit. As the doors slammed, Clevell sighed as he reached for his pocket, pulling out a red phone shaped like a Rotom. He placed the Rotom Phone to his ear, "Hey, can you meet me in Los Platos?"

Outside…

Quaxly was heading through the streets of Los Platos. The lights were shining on the white sidewalk as he was running away. Billy was leading the group, chasing after him. As Quaxly was crying up a storm, it was heading up the hill, only to smack into a shadow figure. Quaxly rolled down the hill as Billy picked him up. Quaxly looked up, horrified as the seven rangers looked up.

"What is that?" asked Minh.

The rangers looked up, noticing a Team Rainbow Rocket grunt. As he walked down the hill, there was a mutated monster that stood in front of them.

"What is that?" asked Aisha.

"I would rather not know," said Minh, turning to Zack. Zack said nothing as the monster jumped up, landing on the pavement. Zack grumbled as he fell, feeling the impact. It was a Charizard with Bisharp armor. The blades were also metallic as it turned to them. The grunt laughed as he turned to them, "We've heard about you… Power Rangers, right?"

"Team Rainbow Rocket…," said Kat. Sprigatito freaked out as it hid behind Kat. Fuecoco gulped, hiding behind Rocky. Rocky turned around as he looked at Fuecoco, "Don't worry. We'll handle him."

Aisha and Adam rushed over as he looked at the five of them. Billy nodded as he turned to them, "Well… let's see what happens."

The rangers nodded as Zack stepped forward, "Let's do it guys! It's Morphin' Time!"

A/N: So, like I said, winging it. I wanted to add starters for now, belonging to Kat, Rocky and Billy. I also hope to give Zack, Adam and Minh new Pokémon partners as well, but in Paldea, it is going to be interesting, so they will have to wait a while. Maybe after they get to Uva Academy... well, I have to figure out that arc when I get there.

So, they brought their morphers. The question is will their morphers work? Well, you are going to have to find out the next chapter, which I am editing right now. Hopefully, I will have a better direction on where to go next. We will see…
