Dreadwatch: Well I'm continuing.

Guest: To be honest one of the reasons for this delay is because I am very tempted to rewrite this series but every time I start or come up with a game plan I get an idea of how I want the story to continue from the point I am at, I've wasn't enough time hesitating on how I want this story to go, so I've decided I'm not going to hesitate and just keep writing it.

Chapter 50: Hero set up

Shoto Todoroki was walking to school as he kept replaying the night a few days ago when he met his uncle Toshimo. 'He seems like a nice guy, but something about him feels off about him.' His brain flashed back to his uncle's face as they ate food together. 'Was he faking a smile or was he smiling about something else? Either way it did seem mom was happy seeing her brother again after so many years. I should give him a chance.'

"Oh hey Todoroki." Shoto then turned to see Midoriya running towards him. "I didn't know you came here this early."

"It helps beat traffic and it gives me time to think," said Shoto. "Why are you going to class early?"

"Oh I wanted to get here early to help catch up on the days I missed while in the hospital." said Izuku as they made there way to the entrance of UA only to see another student was there waiting for them. "Katsuki!? What are you doing here so early?"

Katsuki looked up at the two. "I have shit I need to catch up with myself and I wanted to speak with you real quick." This surprised Izuku for a moment and Shoto, thinking this was a private conversation, tried to walk into the building without saying a word. "Hold it Icy Hot. I have a few words for you as well."

Shoto looked confused, "Why would you need to speak with me?"

Katsuki looked right at Izuku, "Someone here mentioned wanting to fight us at the tournament."

Izuku knew exactly what Katsuki was talking about. "I know I said that Katsuki but the tournament is over."

"But our issues ain't," said Katsuki before his face turned slightly read, "Don't you ever EVER tell her any of this but the old hag maybe right about this."

"Old hag?" questioned Shoto before remembering the hospital visit. "Oh you mean your mom."

Izuku eyes widened at Katsuki, "You're actually taking advice from your mom?"

"Not exactly," admitted Katsuki, "She says we should just talk things out, so let's fight."

"Fighting is not talking." Pointed out Shoto.

Izuku gave a slight chuckle, "For people you'd be right Shoto," he then looked at Katsuki, "But for some, it's the best option." Izuku thought it over for a moment, "Okay, you got yourself a deal, Katsuki. We'll need to find the right place and time."

"Got that covered." said Katsuki as he began walking , "You both better be there when I tell you."

"Why does it feel like I'm being dragged into your guys' problem?" said Shoto.

"I'm afraid you kind of are," admitted Izuku, "But it will be good having a neutral party with us."

"If you say so." Said Shoto as they walked into the building.

~o~

Soon all the students were in calls 1A as school was about to begin. Including the two new students in class 1A. "Welcome to class 1A Yuki." Shouted Mina and Toru as they welcomed their new classmate.

"Thank you for the warm welcome," said Yuki, a little bashful.

"Sup dude," nearly shouted Kirishima welcoming Shinso. "Welcome to the team.

"Thanks I guess," Said Shinso, not sure how to respond. He wasn't expecting a warm welcome.

"Alright quiet down, all of you." ordered Aizawa as he walked in, instantly causing everyone to quiet down and get to there seats, "Good, now as you can all see we have two new students that will be joining us from now on, due to what they showcased during the sports festival. Though I should remind all of you that while you're currently in the hero course that could change very easily if you screw up or do something stupid." His words caused a shadow of doubt on a few students who knew they didn't do the best during the sports festival. "Now todays lesson is going to be different and unique." This made everyone feel slightly uneasy at the thought of the lesson. "Today you all come up with your hero codenames."

"YEEEAAAAHHHHH!" Shouted a majority of the class.

"Calm Down!" said Aizawa firmly that quickly quieted the class time. Now the reason that today you guys are picking your codenames is because it's time for your first work study."

"Work study?" Yae asked, confused. "What's that?"

"She's kidding right." said Shinso quietly but loud enough for several to hear.

Then to everyone's surprise Melissa also raised her hand. "I'm not familiar sir, what exactly is a work study?"

Aizawa was caught off guard for a second before remembering that Melissa was from the states and Yae didn't really live in Japan. "Work studies are when you study along with a hero whose offered to look after you for a short time so you can some real world experience."

"Oh you mean part time hero work." said Melissa as she understood what was going on.

"Oh so we're going to be part timers." said Yae as she got it. "Why didn't you just say that to begin with."

This left the class confused before Izuku asked, "Is that what you call work studies in America?"

Melissa nodded, "Yes when a student works with a pro hero it's called being a part time hero. I think it's also called that in Europe and South America."

"It is. Back when me and my family were heading through the Amazon a teen stopped us thinking we were poachers. When I asked why a kid like him would be out here, he said he was a part time hero."

"Oh I think I understand," said Tenya. "Since you're a student you can only be a hero part time."

"Well the translation issue aside, here we call them work studies." said Aizawa as he decided to move on. "During your work study you'll be picking a hero to work under, these heroes sent in their nominations after watching you guys in action during the sports festival. Normally each year several heroes would give requests for everyone but this year, it was quite different." Aizawa hit the button as the nominations appeared on the screen clearly showing that Izuku, katsuki and Shoto taking a majority of the nominations with the rest having only a handful of nominations.

"Hey what gives," asked Sero, "How do Izuku and Bakugo have so many? They left in the middle of the sports festival."

"That might actually be why," said Momo before explaining. "Both Midoriya and Bakugo showed that they can handle real hero work while Todoroki won the sports festival. With that in mind it shouldn't be too surprising that they got so many."

"Regardless of whether or not you received any nominations, we'll find some place for all of you." said Aizawa.

"Wait a minute, Mr Aizawa," As Yuki raised her hand. "I just noticed on the board, mine and Shino's names are darkened."

"That's because your guys' work study is going to be a bit different, it's a rule that any student that gets transferred to the hero course after the sports festival, they will spend their first work study with one of the teachers of UA to get caught up."

"Makes sense," said Shinso who was a little disappointed as he could see he had a few nominations under his name but at the moment he was just happy about being in the hero course.

"In any case all of you today will be trying to figure out codenames or at least placeholder names as long as they are appropriate." said Aizawa who clearly didn't care that much. "Just be smart on what you pick."

"Cause if you don't THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY," came a voice from outside the classroom as Midnight strutted in walking in a way that showed off her body. "That names you pick now maybe the names the world knows you by so you must pick carefully."

"It's MIDNIGHT!" shouted the class.

Aizawa brought out his sleeping bag, "In any case I'll leave the rest of class to Midnight."

Midnight quickly handed out white boards and markers to everyone in class. "Alright everyone I want everyone to think carefully about their names, I want to see some good ones in lets say the next 15 minutes. Izuku, you will go first."

"Huh? Why me?" asked Izuku.

"Are you saying you wish to change your name "Demon Slayer"."

"Ah…Point taken." said Izuku as he realized that he had gotten used to being called Demon Slayer and was perfectly fine with the name.

"Hey Midoriya," as Shinso got his attention, "Maybe everyone else here knows but how did you come up with the name Demon Slayer?"

"Oh yeah how did that happen?" asked Jiro.

"Yeah, we don't even know." noted Ojiro as no one in class really knew.

"That big giant guy called you that right." as Kirishima remembered his first meeting with Izuku. "Did you come up with the name before that?"

"Nope, I didn't come up with the name at all." Admitted Izuku. "Villains just started calling me that all on their own."

"WHAT!?" shouted the class.

"Wait, you never came up with the name Demon Slayer?" asked Denki.

"That's right, I kind of just got the name over time. I never came up with it myself." as Izuku remembered, everyone just started calling him that after he ran into Giganto Machia, 'Now that I think about it, Kirishima was the one that told everyone in the press about my name. I guess it's thanks to him that I have the name Demon Slayer.' Izuku shrugged, "In any case I like it, so I'm going to stick with the name."

Midnight smiled, "That good you like the name but let this be a warning to everyone that if you don't come up with a name someone else will." She then locked eyes with Izuku. "Well then how about you come up and introduce yourself to the class."

Izuku smiled and walked up to class showing everyone his board, "I'm Demon Slayer. The hero that will protect everyone and make demons run to the hills." he said with complete confidence.

Midnight and the rest of the class began to clap, "Well then students is their anyone who would like to go next."

"Oui!" as Ayoyama jumped out of his seat. He walked up to the front of the class and showed everyone his board. "I CANNOT STOP TWINKLING!"

'What type of name is that?' Thought the class.

"Very interesting," Said Midnight, "But you should change it to Can't Stop Twinkling to make it easier for others to say."

'Your agreeing with him!'

"Anyone next?"

"My turn," said Mina as she bounced to the front. "I'm the Heroine of Ridley: Alien Queen."

"No." said Midnight, shooting down the name. "Think of another." Mina hung her head as she walked back to her seat.

"May I go next?" asked Tsuyu and with a nod from the teacher went up to the front, "I've thought about this name for a long time. I'm the Rainy Season Hero: Froppy."

"Oh that's adorable, good choice." Said Midnight giving her stamp of approval.

Kirishima then walked up to the front next. "For mine, I wanna be called Red Riot."

"You're naming yourself after the hero Crimson Riot aren't you." Noted Midnight.

"Yep, he's my hero and I will do the name JUSTICE!" said Kirishima with confidence.

"Oooh I love that confidence," said Midnight.

Soon others began stepping up and give their names. "I'm the Hearing hero: Earphone Jack." said Jiro.

"Excellent, fits you well." commented Midnight.

Shoji went up next, "Tentacole."

"Oooh I love the tentacles," said Midnight making Shoji slightly uncomfortable.

Sero was next, "The taping Hero Cellophane."

"Bondage."

Ojiro walked up, "I know it's a little simple but you can call me Tail Man."

"Don't underestimate the action of an extra limb."

"Damn I thought I would be the only simple one here." as Sato went up. "I'm the sweets hero, Sugar Man."

"Mama likes sugar."

"Okay I got a better one." as Mina got to the front again with her board, "PINKY!"

"Now that's a cute name I can get behind."

Denki went up next. "I"m the Stun gun hero: Charge Bolt."

"That made me feel the static in the air."

Without anyone noticing Toru made her way to the front, "The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl."

"Excellent, okay kids keep them coming."

Momo then presented her name, "I hope I can live up to the name Creati."

"Creative."

Shoto then walked up to the stand and showed his board that simply had his name. "Shoto."

"Just your name huh, it's good but I think you can come up with something better eventually."

"The Jet Black Hero: Tsukuyomi." said Tokoyami as dark shadow was giving him a thumbs up behind him.

"Men do look better in black."

Mineta then went next and tried to stand tall but couldn't as he was too short to look over the podium, "The Fresh hero: Grape Juice."

"That's okay but doesn't make me thirsty." Which somehow hurt Mineta's feelings.

Koda then went up to the front and nodded to everyone as he presented his board showing the animal hero Anima.

"I love, it speaks sooner or later you'll bring the beast out."

Iida then went to the front and stood at attention, "The Turbo Hero Jetstream."

"Oh I do love anything with a turbo function."

"Here's mine," said Ochako a little embarrassed. "Uravity"

"Cute I love it."

Yuki the took a deep breath and went up to the front, "I know I haven't been with the hero course for long but I've known the name I wanted to use ever since I realized I could be a hero." She then showed her board. "The snow day hero: Snow Angel."

"Snow Angel, I think that's perfect for you." Midnight then leaned in and whispered, "Good luck hunting after your Demon." causing Yuki to blush.

Katsuki then marched up to the stand and slammed his board on the stand. "KING OF EXPLOSIONS DYNAMIGHT!"

The class went silent as they waited for Midnight response. "Well Dynamight work I suppose but King of Explosions does not."

"Typical Bakugo," said Yuki under her breath.

"Hey wait a minute," said Yae as she looked at the name. "Are you trying to steal from Melissa or something?"

"SHE DOESN'T OWN SHIT!" yelled Katsuki.

"It's fine Yae," said Melissa, a little nervous, "We're just doing something similar is all."

"Oh, is your code name something similar to All Might?" asked Jiro.

Melissa nodded, she was nervous since her uncle was the number one hero, but then she looked at Izuku, who gave her a reassuring smile and like that all her nerves washed away. She smiled and went up to the front, "I know I'm going to have a lot to live up to but I will do, The Heroine of the Heart, Mighty Heart."

The class clapped and Melissa received nods from Izuku and Yae. "I think that will be perfect for you Melissa and I'm sure your Uncle All Might will agree." said Midnight.

"UNCLE ALL MIGHT!" shouted both Shinso and Yuki shocked.
"Oh yeah, you two don't know," Said Melissa scratching the back of her head, "My uncle is All Might." They both looked around to see several students nodding. "Though I would prefer it if you guys didn't go around shouting it. Honestly I wanted it to be secret before it was slipped out earlier by Nejire."

"Who?" Asked Shinso.

"A third year who helped us on an exercise a while back." explained Momo.

They then heard a clap from Midnight, "We can tell stories later, lets get on with our last names, I believe the only ones we have left are Shinso and Yae."

Shinso looked a little nervous but went to the front, "I'm not a hundred percent sold on the name but at least for now my hero name will be Mentalist."

"Brainy, I like it." commented Midnight, "now then Yae would you like to finish us off."

Yae flinched a little, "Well…" Yae was embarrassed but she couldn't think of anything this entire time her board had been empty as she couldn't think of any name to call herself. 'What should I do? ' she thought.

"HEY YOU CAN'T-" Everyone then froze as they heard Present Mic's voice from down the hall. "STOP, YOU CAN't JUST BARGE IN-"

Suddenly the door to class 1A was hit so hard it flew off its hinges, midnight quickly had to duck to the side as the door hit the wall on the other side causing Aizawa to jump out of his sleeping bag. "What the hell." Said Aizawa as he got his capture weapon ready.

"Alright, where's the damn brat?" asked the Rabbit Hero Miriko as she walked into the room.

"Miriko?!" said Both Midnight and Aizawa as they saw the hero.

"Miriko what the hell!" shouted Present Mic, "You can't just barge in and kick down our doors."

"Put it on my tab." was all Mirkio said ignoring Present Mic shouting that she didn't have a tab for UA. "There you are." she said as she spied her target.

Yae smiled, "Hey Bunny Butt, how ya doing?"

Miriko smiled, "Sup brat, I was just told you guys are starting your work studies and I owe you some pain."

Yae stood up and brought up her fist. "Bring it on Bunny Butt."

"Whoa hold on," said Aizawa as he got between the two. "Miriko, what the hell are you doing here? You didn't put any nominations in to take a student. I made sure to check all the pro heroes that were in the top twenty."

"Nominations?" said Miriko, confused as she had no idea what Aizawa was talking about. "Look I owe this brat for shooting me in the ass."

"WHAT?!" shouted the class as they looked at a smiling Yae.

"YAE!" Yelled Izuku. "WHY DID YOU SHOOT HER?

"Relax, I didn't shoot her, shoot her," said Yae as she brought out some of her metal from her hand. "After she refused to let us go and help you I fired off a small soft metal shot out of frustration and it may have bounced off a wall and hit her right in the ass."

"Yae…" This time it was Melissa.

"What, she didn't even bleed. Those bullets never draw blood, they just stick to ya." Explained Yae.

"True, it didn't draw any blood," Admitted Miriko before pushing Aizawa aside," But when I finally pulled that metal crap off my ass cheek left a big bright red bruise which made Ryuko and several other heroes think that some asshole was brazzen enough to slap me on the ass."

Yae looked unfazed, "I don't exactly see how that's my fault."

"Look here brat, I know you're too good to make a shot like that on accident. You did it on purpose and I've been thinking of so many ways to pay you back for that. So you're going to be my little sidekick for a while so I can work the pain right off you."

Yae gave her a smug smile, "Why should I? I've been given other offers I can go with."

Miriko then smiled back, "Go right ahead, coward."

A vein popped on Yae's head, "Oh ho ho Bring it on Bunny Butt, you're on. I'll kick your ass."

"STOP!" yelled Mic getting between them. "Just stop for a second."

"Miriko," called out Aizawa, "You can't just come here and demand a student, you need to fill out the correct paperwork."

Miriko was getting annoyed, "Fine," she said before quickly turning around and seeing Iida's notebook grabbing it and ripping out a blank page ignoring the boys protest and rant about the rules before quickly writing 'MIRIKO' in large letter before quickly walking over and slapping the page on Yae's face. "There this one's mine."

Aizawa could feel the beginning of a massive headache coming on. "Miriko…"

"Just drop her off at my place when the whole interning bit starts and I'll take it from there." said Miriko as she was about to walk out she jumped in the air dodging a metal knife thrown by Yae. "Nice try metal brat but you got lucky last time, that ain't going to work twice, metal brat."

"I'm a hunter," said Yae as she crushed the piece of paper in her hand. "When I put an eye on my target I don't give up and I know I'm starting to think my next target should be rabbit."

Miriko just chuckled, "Oh you are going to be fun." Before leaving the room.

"Hey!" yelled Mic as he ran out of the doorway. "You need to fix the door!"

"How exactly is she going to fix the door?" asked Midnight as everyone looked at the massive door that was now embedded into the wall.

Aizawa groaned, "Yep I have a headache now, here's hoping that Tomo has some sort of quirk in her arsenal to fix this."

"I don't think she does." mentioned Melissa.

"Don't worry, I'll beat the cash out of the rabbit if necessary." said Yae as she sat down now determined to beat Miriko. "I'll beat her during the work study. I'll show her."

"Um Yae, are you planning on fighting Miriko?" asked Ochako, "She's one of the top ten heroes."
"I don't care, I'll show her I ain't just some brat." Yae blinked for a second before grabbing her white board and started writing on it. "I'm The Hunting Heroine: Metal Huntress." she held up the board with pride, "And my first target is the Rabbit Hero Miriko." Nobody clapped as everyone was still just shocked at her claim of taking down Miriko.

"That's a good name." said Midnight trying to force a smile, "But…."

"This is going to be a problem." Finished Aizawa.

~o~

"Yae I think you should rethink this," suggested a worried Ochako, "Fighting Miriko doesn't sound like a good idea."

Melissa nodded in agreement, "Yae I know you're good but Miriko is world class, I think I overheard some people mentioning that she could be the number 1 hero if she wasn't such a wild card."

Yae ignored this as she kept eating her lunch. "Relax, I'll play this game and win." as she waved it off.

"I don't think, thinking of this as a game is going to help," said Yuki as she sat down at the table. "Going toe to toe with a pro hero like Miriko isn't going to be easy. What do you think Izuku?"

Izuku thought for a moment as he weighed the possibilities, "You know this might be good for Yae," Shocking everyone in earshot. "The more I think about it the more I realize how competitive Yae and Miriko are. Rivals and competition can help people grow and become better. It will be interesting to see how a hero contest between Miriko and Yae might help them both. In any case I have faith," as Izuku gave Yae a warm smile, "I think you'll do great."

Yae froze for a moment as she felt heat in her cheeks as she quickly took a bit from her food and looked away. "Well I won't disappoint." In her head her mind was racing, 'Why am I getting this weird feeling?' She thought to herself as she quickly deflected, "How about you guys, who are you doing your part time work with?"

Ochako smiled, "I'm going to be heading to work with the hero Gunhead, I heard his martial arts he teaches are top notch."

"I am thinking of going with Edgeshot," said Izuku, "He sent me a letter while I was in hospital and was intrigued with my abilities and said he looked forward to working with me someday and I think that day will be sooner than later."

Melissa hummed for a second before sighing, "I guess I'm going with Uncle Might."

"You don't exactly sound happy about that." pointed out Yuki. "Did something happen?"

Melissa nodded, "With recent events my dad called All Might and asked if there was any way he could watch me for a while. I was hoping Uncle Might would turn down the idea, but when he heard about it, he was actually really excited to have some Uncle Niece time. I mean I know we're family and all but…"

"A lot of pressure from being taught by the number one," said Izuku, receiving a nod from Melissa.

"I knew eventually everyone would learn I was related to All Might but I didn't think it would be so soon, I thought it would happen after I would make a name for myself first." said Melissa.

"Just ignore it," they all looked at Shoto who was eating at the next table over. "A lot of people over the years have come to me as the son of Endeavor, my advice is to just simply ignore it."

"That works?"

"Mostly."

"How about you Todoroki, where are you going to spend your work study?" asked Izuku.

"I've chosen to go with my father." said Shoto, "I'm not going to miss the opportunity to see his power ranger costume early."

The cafeteria went silent, "Power Ranger Costume?" asked everyone, but Shoto didn't respond as he gave a rare smile and walked away with the thought of his dad's embarrassment on stage in mind.

"What the fuck was that about?" asked Bakugo who was sitting with Kirishima, Mina and Momo.

"I have no idea?" said Kirishima.

"Maybe Endeavor's doing some sort of charity event?" guessed Momo.

"I don't know," said Mina, "Endeavor doesn't seem like the type of guy to dress up for a charity event."

Katsuki was curious but went back to the topic at the table, "Anyway back to what I was saying, I've been thinking quite a bit about your quirk Momo and I think what you need to cover is something more destructive, something that can break him." as he jabbed a thumb at a confused Kirishima.

Momo was slightly disappointed at that advice, "Explosives are good and all but-"

"I wasn't finished," said Katsuki cutting her off, "Explosions are nice but if you want to top Yae, you need to have power and your not going to get that if you keep popping simple things out like a staff, you need to widen your range to support gear."

"Support gear?"

"There's a lot of support gear out there. When I went to the support department I saw quite a few different equipment that were small but could do a lot of things. You need to add those to your arsenal if you want to win. Get good offensive and defensive equipment and test them out on Kirishima. If you can break through his defenses you got a winner, but make sure it's something you can produce reliably and quickly. You should also work on producing complex objects at a rapid rate. So nothing simple like dolls, when you're practicing I want to see complex machinery. You get that down and you should be able to make the simple stuff at lightning speed."

Halfway through Momo brought out a notebook and quickly began to write down notes as she realized what Katsuki was saying was useful. "I see, that can work, it would help out my quirk and the increase in item size should also give me a good workout."

"Hold on, Momo, you're seriously not considering using Kirishima as a test dummy are you?" asked Mina as she was uncomfortable about the idea of using ehr friend for target practice.

"You bet she is," said Katsuki as he gave Kirishima a serious side glare. "Kirishima better not break."

Kirishima got the challenge and smiled, "Of course not, Red Riot is unbreakable."

Katsuki turned back to Momo, "That's what I got, what do you have for me?"

Momo then passed a different notebook over to Katsuki. "Here are some notes I made about your quirk. From the chemical compound I believe you use and the reactions that result from them."

Katsuki then began to flip through the notebook only skimming the pages as he kept turning and turning pages before realizing how detailed and numerous the notes were, "Holy shit you filled the entire notebook."

Momo smiled, "I gave it a lot of thought. I hope it will be enough for you."

Katsuki stopped at some pages and smiled, "Oh I can definitely use this."

Mina frowned, "I thought lunch was going to be relaxing today but it ended up being more work."

"Maybe we should switch subjects," offered Momo, which did annoy Katsuki a little, "We can work on the notes later and keep the notebook I have plenty." That seemed to help a little. "Is there something you wanted to add, Mina."

"Well I was just curious if you guys were going to watch the interview tonight?"

"Interview?" said Both Katsuki and Kirihsima not knowing what she was talking about.

Momo then remembered. "Oh you mean Yushiro sensei's interview."

Momo's words echoed across the hall, "Oh yeah the old man is going on tv tonight isn't he." said Yae as she remembered.

"Oh yeah I heard from Iida it's going to be some big time reporter." said Ochako.

"That sounds like it's going to be big." said Yuki. "I wonder if he's excited about being on tv."

"Not exactly," said Melissa with a weak smile.

Izuku nodded, "He's going to hate it."

~o~

(Later that night)

Yushiro took a step out of the car as he looked at the massive building in front of him. "I really don't want to do this."

"Sir, if you want I can teleport us back to the house." offered Tomo.

"No Tomo that's quite alright, this is for the best, but it does go against all those years I spent trying to hide from the public." Yushiro took a deep breath and began to walk into the building, "Come on Tomo lets get this Interview over with."
