Hello dear readers! It is me, with another chapter of "Out of Reach"! I hope that you are happy as I am!
Before the chapter – just like the tradition demands it – I will answer your comments from the previous chapter.
Kamigake86 – I am glad that you enjoy this story. As to Six and the gods… Well, at this point, I can't say anything without it being a major spoiler, so I am afraid that I cannot answer your question. But you will learn it with the next chapters.
AmethystPone – Quoting fanfiction, right before you post a new story: "Crossover is a story that includes themes or characters from 2 categories." Rules and guidelines do not state how much you have to put themes or characters from different universe to make a crossover – it says, that when you do it – no matter if you just put one character or if you just mixing everything (and no matter how shitty it looks) – it is still a crossover. The end. But I am glad that you want to give this story a try – I promise I will try to not disappoint you and to make this as good as possible.
Janny092 – I am very glad that you like this idea. It's time to show that humans are the true masters of the universe! Glory to the UNSC!
Sm0keyPanda – Thank you very much and I hope to make this story as good as possible for all readers.
Guest – Thank you.
Before the chapter will begin, I would like to say big thank you to my Beta-reader – Rogue-eL! You have no idea how much I appreciate your help!
That is it for now. I hope you are ready for this chapter!

Out of Reach
Chapter 3
Arrival
Maneuvering a space ship while in slip-space is already a very hard job. Maneuvering a space ship while in slip-space, while the engine is almost broken and while every control button is gleaming red is even harder.
Auntie Dot was having a very hard time. The engine was barely working, the ship was on the verge of collapse, and yet they were still flying faster than light through the void of space. If she was a human, then she would describe this whole situation as a miracle or just pure luck. But she wasn't a human, she couldn't just place her faith in luck. She was responsible for a Spartan life.
Right in the hibernation hub, there was the last remaining member of the Noble team. Well, there was still Noble Three, but she was now not aware of what happened to him. As far as she knew, he could be dead as the rest of the Noble Team.
So as of now, Noble Six was the last Spartan she was responsible for. And she was not going to let him die. She swore to herself, that she will bring him to safety, that he will survive. And not even barely working slip-space engine would stop her.
In theory, travel from Reach to Earth should not take longer than four days. But of course, there were a few obstacles that didn't allow Dot to just fly to Earth and bring Six with her.
First was the Cole protocol. They were not allowed to travel straight from Reach to Earth. There was always a chance that the Covenant was tracking them. To be honest, she couldn't travel to any major colony. All of humanity's colonies had to be protected from the covenant.
The second was the engine itself. The calypso class ship was one of the fastest spaceships available for ONI, but it had one major disadvantage – it wasn't created for long jumps. While they could push beyond the speed limits of normal UNSC ship, they couldn't fly in slip-space for long. Four hours was the limit for Calypso class, which made Dot's job even harder.
And to make the situation even worse, the four hours were slowly coming to end. Soon Dot will have to be forced to return to normal space. And with a broken engine, there was no hope for another jump.
In other words, she and Six will be stuck in the void, waiting for anyone's arrival. Lost in the emptiness of space.
For many people, this moment would be perfect to think about many things. Alone, in the void, waiting for something to happen… But not for Dot. She was too busy. Navigate the ship. Make sure her Spartan was safe…
Her Spartan…
It was the only thing outside of her normal work she allowed herself to think about. Noble Six, Sierra Betha 312… She didn't know when she started to think about him as her Spartan, but Dot felt a weird need to protect him. To make sure he was safe. And he couldn't help but wonder why.
Minutes before the slips-space engine should be turned off. Minutes that seemed to run away faster than the spaceship itself. Minutes soon turned into a single minute. Then into seconds.
Three… Two… One…
The Calysto class spaceship soon left the slip-space, but not in the way nor place where Auntie Dot would prefer. Instead of the void of space, or a side of the friendly colony on the space horizon, she noticed that her ship exited the slip-space in the ionosphere of a planet. And to her horror, not just any planet.
Auntie Dot knew the consequences of leaving or entering the slip-space in the atmosphere – it was like detonating a thermonuclear bomb. The entire area of many kilometers could be left in devastation.
And while her ship left the slip-space in the ionosphere, way above the ground, the damage would be also devastating. It would have the same effect as detonating a nuclear bomb the upper atmosphere – a powerful EMP blast, annihilating everything electronic in area of many kilometers.
And right now, her ship was doing exactly this on the ionosphere of planet Earth.
Auntie Dot knew that the damage would be fatal. Entire cities and even ships will be left without anything working in them. Just right when the Covenant was already knocking on Earth's door.
But there was something wrong. When Auntie Dot realized she was on Earth, she expected many signals coming from UNSC or ONI, reporting about EMP bursts in the atmosphere, warnings about possible Covenant or Innsurection attack. And she did pick up many signals, but the problem was, that they were archaic.
Radio signals, primitive satellites, many languages… All was too archaic for UNSC standards.
Auntie Dot couldn't understand what was happening. It all should not be happening. All of it, all the information that she was receiving didn't make any sense.
Meanwhile, the ship was falling from the sky, way faster than sound. Dot was forced to work even faster than before, to prevent the destructive crush. Even though at that moment the ship was doing everything to not cooperate with her, she did all she could to make sure that the ship will fall somewhere where no humans lived.
The closest one? Nevada test site, a place where once a nation called the USA was testing its nuclear weapons. It was the safest – and in this situation – the only place where she could land.
It was perfect. Nobody would get hurt, nobody would also mind another crater. Nevada already had many, so who would notice another crater? So what if it wasn't nuclear?
It was so close, Auntie Dot already stabilized ship so that they could land as safely as possible, with minimum damage to the environment and to the ship itself. But then, something went wrong. By accident, the ship activated its slip-space engine once again, for less than a second. And Dot couldn't do anything to stop it.
"NO!" Was the only thing Auntie Dot said before the slip-space rapture happened again, taking away the ship into the unknown and leaving the explosion comparable to a nuclear bomb.
And then, only silence…
High in the sky, above the clouds, Artemis was flying in her moon chariot. Just like every night, she was doing her duty of driving a moon chariot, serving as a moon for the western world. She wasn't doing it every day – sometimes she would let her roman self – Diana – to drive it, sometimes she would make one of her hunters drive it for her. And sometimes she would just use the automatic mode her half-brother Hephaistos created for her chariot.
But today she decided to do her duty like in ancient times. The old way, just like Selene, the previous greek moon deity was used to.
She decided to do that to take a break. She wanted to relax and think about what all that happened a few days ago. And a lot has happened.
Her uncle Poseidon broke his oath. He sired another demi-god child. A son called Percy Jackson. Accused by her father of stealing Master Bolt, signed with a quest of giving it back at the Summer Solstice.
To be honest, Artemis didn't care about any of it. She always knew that her uncle, just like her father, will not be able to hold to that oath for too long. They were just stupid males after all. It was to be expected of them. And now it would have to deal with a possible child of prophecy.
Artemis already didn't like that new demi-god. She heard that he sent a medusa head to her father. It was a very stupid idea to anger gods like that.
But, as she would always say – stupid males and their ego.
And yet she had to also give him a little credit – he was young, and yet he was already able to defeat her half-brother Ares in a fight.
In the end, the young son of Poseidon reclaimed Master Bolt and gave it back to Zeus just like he was ordered. I guess in the end he did at least one useful thing. And after that, another Summer Solstice party was organized.
Artemis could only roll her eyes at all of this.
And so, she flew in her chariot through the entire United States, the most powerful country of the western gods, current home to all greek mythos. She watched mortal from above, observing and thinking about how much they have changed during all those centuries. From mindless creatures to semi-intelligent people.
Humans were growing and spreading and with every year they were doing it faster. Yes, they came a long way from a caveman to so-called civilized society, yet they were still oblivious to the real world. They were unaware of the real powers ruling the cosmos.
For all their intelligence, they were still pretty stupid and naïve species. They were killing their own world. And Artemis knew that one day they will have to be stoped. Controlled like in the old times.
And so Artemis continued to fly, not caring about the lives of any mortals. That was until Artemis noticed that something was happening to the night sky. It started to change. Where there were once known constellations of the northern hemisphere, now she noticed something different.
Half of the constellations disappeared, and the other half remained but highly distorted. The only constellation that remained in the same place was that cursed Orion constellation. But everything else was just messed up. The whole night sky was in pure chaos.
Soon, some of the stars created a new constellation. Artemis instantly recognized which one – it was Eridanus constellation. But it didn't make any sense to her – that constellation should remain on the southern hemisphere, so what suddenly changed its position?
Then, for a little moment, the entire constellation glowed with the power of thousands of stars. The constellation was giving almost as much light as the sun. And then – just as suddenly the constellation started to illuminate everything around, the night sky once again started to shift.
Now, every star of Eridanus seemed to circle around one particular star – Ran. And soon, this entire star was replaced by a massive hole in the sky.
This whole thing happened in less than a second. If Artemis wasn't a goddess, then she would most likely not be able to see most of it. But now, with her divine eyes, she could see and register every bit of this weird cosmic show.
As soon as the great hole replaced what was once known as the Ram, the entire sky was colored with what seemed to look like northern lights. The sky illuminating in all possible colors, flying and dancing around. But out the goddess of the moon could not just simply watch this magnificent spectacle.
Sadly for our goddesses, as soon as the northern lights appeared, she was blasted with an invisible force, that seemed to shock her. For Artemis, it felt as if she was just blaster with the power of her father's Master Bolt. Her entire body, no, her entire being was in pain. She was experiencing something similar to mortals' migraine, electric shock, and concussion at the same time.
For Artemis, it was definitely the most painful experience she felt in her entire immortal life.
Soon, she found herself falling from the sky, without control. She was losing consciousness. Her chariot was also falling to the ground, drifting away from her faster with every second. The last thing she could do was to desperately call her brother for help.
"Apollo…"
And then, the darkness took over.
If she would remain conscious for a little longer, she would notice a weird object falling from the sky, flying straight from the massive hole that appeared just a second ago.
But it didn't matter right now to her. Now she was falling…
When Artemis regained her consciousness, she was laying on a very soft bed. The room around her painted in golden and white color. Next to her, on the table, there was nectar and ambrosia.
She instantly recognized this place. It was one of the medical rooms in Apollo's temple. She was here a few times, but mostly as a guest, not as a patient. Her hunters from time to time were also Apollo's patients.
As Artemis tried to stand up, she heard a voice calling her from another side of the room.
"Sister!"
Artemis could recognize this voice anywhere – it belonged to her brother after all. And as she looked at him, she noticed that he wasn't in his usual good mood. Instead of being in a late teenager or young adult body, he was now fully grown up, with medical clothes on him. He also wasn't smiling as brightly as always. His whole face had written one emotion on it – worry.
"You shouldn't get up so fast you know." Apollo began with a typical for all doctors' voice. "I was scared you know? When you called me like that we all have been worried! Say, what happened out there? Why were you falling unconscious?"
It was the first time in her immortal life when Artemis wasn't sure as to what she should say. She couldn't exactly understand what happened out there. Even from a mythological point of view, none of what she witnessed had any sense. Why the sky would suddenly change like that? What attacked her?
"I… Don't know…" Artemis began, immediately noticing that her voice was weak and quiet.
And before she could say anything else, both she and her brother suddenly felt a shift in the air. They both knew what was happening. Zeus was calling a meeting of the gods.
Artemis only pleadingly looked at her brother. She was still too weak, and she wasn't sure if she would be able to teleport on her own to the throne room. She didn't even need to say a word, just one look was enough for Apollo to understand. She only took her hand and concentrated for a second.
Soon, both of them were enveloped in a golden light. And when the light died out, they found themselves in the Olympian hall of gods.
The Hall of Gods looked as magnificent as always. Twelve massive thrones, all differently looking, to fit any fancy wishes of the owner. And at the very center of the room – a great campfire, burning with eternal greek fire. And right next to the flame, sitting and poking there was Hestia, goddess of home and family.
Within a seconds, all the rest of the Olympian council appeared in the hall, slowly taking their place in their thrones. Artemis took her place on her silver throne with the wolf a wolf-skin cushion, while her brother took place at the other side of the hall, on his golden throne.
When all gods took their places, the council had begun.
"I summoned you all to discuss what happened on yesterday's night. We all felt a sudden shift in the world. Something came to our world and we must know what it was. All we know that it attacked my daughter…" First – as always – to start was Zeus with his booming voice full of authority.
Some gods, on the other hand, were not exactly as excited to discuss this matter. Dionysus was half-asleep, Demeter wasn't paying attention at all, Hermes was on this hall only in body. He was still gloomy after his son betrayed him for Kronos.
"Artemis, my daughter, could you please explain what happened before you were attacked?" Zeus asked Artemis, with the same king-like authority.
"Yes, father. I was on my moon duty. I decided to fly with my chariot across the night sky. At first, all was peaceful, when I noticed that something was wrong. The constellations in the sky… Some of them vanished and some of them were… The night sky was just in pure chaos. Soon, a new constellation appeared, Eridanus constellation."
Artemis took a second for a small inhale. She wanted to give as detailed rapport as possible. But it was hard since she could not fully understand what happened last night.
"Soon, after Eridanus appeared, this and all the remaining constellations begin to shine with incredible light. It was as bright as during a normal day. And then… All the stars started to circle around one star in the Eridanus constellation… All of them, just dancing around the star the mortals call Ran."
Out of all gods, only Athena was truly interested. But it was obvious for a goddess of war and intelligence. She had to know everything. She had to calculate the answers. While others… Ares was just interested in incoming war, Apollo just simply wanted to know who dared to hurt her sister, and Zeus himself only wanted to know who dared to mess with his domain. Nevertheless, Artemis continued her story.
"Soon, where there was once a Ren star, a giant hole appeared in the sky. And then… I remember that the whole sky was full of northern lights and… Then I just remember sudden pain and shock… After that, I just woke up in my brother's palace."
Gods around her didn't know what to say. They expected more details, they wanted to know if the great huntress could describe incoming enemy, and yet, all she gave was a mysterious tale without any answers they were looking for.
"I believe I can say more…"
This time it was Hephaistos who talk the voice. No one in the council expected him to say anything, because mostly he stayed on the council meeting just to fulfill his duty as an Olympian god, but during those meetings, he would often just stay quiet. To say that the council was surprised by his sudden interest (especially in something that had nothing to do with anything related to his beloved automatons) would be like to say nothing.
The god of forges and volcanos snapped his finger and then, a monitor appeared before every god. Then, from those monitors, a series of a few videos started to show.
The first one was a clip showing the northern lights from a mortal perspective. Just when the sky turned into a pallet of colors, all the lights in the city started to go off. Soon, even the camera just died.
"As you can see here, what Artemis felt most likely wasn't aimed at her. It affected everything around. Every electronic device within the range of that 'effect' was simply useless and had to be repaired. Even some of my automatons died. As far as I know, there is only one thing capable of destroying every electronic device on the surface of many miles..."
"An electromagnetic pulse…"
Athena interrupted Hephaistos in a not rude manner. Since the god of vulcanos started to show more pieces of evidence of what happened, Athena started to actually be interested in this whole situation.
Her beautiful face was now lost in thoughts. It was obvious that millions of thoughts are not circling in her head. And she most likely already had millions of theories about this whole phenomenon.
"But the only thing capable of creating such EMP is… A nuclear bomb… And if detonated in the upper atmosphere can create this effect… But still, a nuclear bomb does create northern lights…"
"That is because it was not a nuclear bomb… It wasn't even a weapon. Now please look at this…" Hephaistos once again snapped his fingers and on the monitors, another video appeared. "This one is a compilation of what a few mortal satellites registered. Watch closely…"
At first, the clip showed nothing more than empty space. And then, suddenly, a giant portal appeared out of nowhere and with it… something very similar to a mortal space shuttle. But it looked definitely more futuristic and advanced.
Every god in the hall was just speechless. The shock was just too big.
"Wait… is this what I think it is?" The first to speak was Hermes. Shocked just like the rest of the council.
"Yes… It is a spaceship. More advanced than anything mortals have ever created. I don't know anything about all that weird space-stuff, but I can recognize a spaceship when I see one." Hephaistos only confirmed what Hermes was thinking about.
In other words, the gods were now watching a UFO crash-landing.
Meanwhile Athena, after shaking off the initial shock, could help but grin. She was a goddess of knowledge and here lied a mystery that she heard and saw only on those sci-fi movies and books mortals liked to create.
In secret, Athena was a big nerd. She loved sci-fi literature because for her it was art combined with science – something she definitely loved. That and she also loved how humans – despite their mostly stupid nature – were able to theorize about possible faster-than-light travels throughout the cosmos.
And now, fate itself allowed her to observe an object capable of traveling faster than light, something that was supposed to be impossible. Athena wanted to know everything, every secret and technology behind that object. She wanted to know who created it, how did it work… In other words, everything.
"Interesting…" That was all she allowed herself to say to the council. If she would say anything other than this, other gods would start to think she doesn't know something, that she is excited to learn something new.
Meanwhile, Hephaistos once again snapped his finger, to show a few clips, showing the same object from a different perspective.
At first, they observed as the object was quickly falling to Earth, burning away everything around it. The view was magnificent.
"See this?" God of Vulcanos showed a very specific clip. "This object changed its trajectory in order to land as safely as possible. It even flew towards one of the least populated areas. I am talking about Nevada's desert. But suddenly, this happened…"
In the last clip, they saw another footage from a satellite. They saw how this object was falling and how it was supposed to land in the desert. Except it didn't. In the very last second, just before it was supposed to crash on Nevada's empty test field… All the gods could see on their monitors was just an explosion of white.
"Right before the landing, the whole ship just exploded. The power of the explosion can be estimated as one point five megatons, or, to make it easier, ten times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima… Thankfully the explosion didn't kill anyone…"
"Anyway, it means that whatever happened to this thing, it doesn't matter, because it just vaporated, right?"
"I wouldn't be so sure about it…"
At first, it was Ares who spoke first. And to be honest, perhaps the first time in history, most of the gods agreed with the God of war. But it would seem that Apollo could not agree.
"What do you mean by that, Apollo?" Zeus asked with a hint of paranoia in his voice.
Before Apollo could explain himself, his behavior and voice suddenly changed. It was obvious that Apollo was receiving a prophecy. What gods didn't know was that this prophecy would forever change their lives.
And so, with an ancient and powerful voice, Apollo declaimed a new prophecy.
"A child out of time comes back home, by the wish of the goddess who wanted him to go. With the blood of worlds resting on his hands, monsters will hide from this man. The moon in the sky, and the luck on his side, fate will not be able to bind his life. Run and hid oh monster about, but it doesn't matter for the wolf is out."
None of the gods knew what to think about this prophecy. The shock was once again the only emotion that Olympians were able to feel. Someone who couldn't be controlled by fate? Someone who had the blood of worlds on his hands?
And while the Greek gods were busy debating about the meaning of this new prophecy and how it could affect the great prophecy, no one seemed to notice an odd change in a certain moon goddess behavior.
She looked with wide-open, almost terrified eyes at her lap.
'Couldn it be?' She wondered. 'I… I wanted him to go… I wanted him to disappear…' But that wasn't possible. She threw him into chaos and nothing can survive the endless void. He was supposed to be destroyed. So could it be, that by some miracle he survived and returned just to torment her?
Artemis prayed that she was wrong. That it had nothing to do with him.
Oh if she could only know how wrong she was…
Not even a second. The whole slip-space jump didn't even take a second. And yet they found themselves in a very dark and weird place. Dark, because there was barely any light. Weird, because there were endless walls all around them.
Dot tried to answer to herself how and why the slip-space engine even started to work. It shouldn't be possible. Even without all the damage, it just should not be possible. And yet it happened.
She scanned everything on the ship, trying to check if anything on this ship was still working. Some parts of the ship – like life support functions were still working. Anything related to engines or energy core needed heavy repairs. But somehow Auntie Dot doubted they will be able to repair anything any time soon.
But she noticed something else. She used cameras to have a visual as to what was happening outside of the ship. And what she saw really amazed her.
Walls. Stone walls, rooms, corridors. It all seemed to be going endlessly. And something more.
Weird lifeforms. The ones that Dot never saw nor could she recognize it from any UNSC or Forerunner database. It was something new, undiscovered to her. Something that perhaps no one in the galaxy has seen ever yet.
They were all in various forms, but they all seemed to have some kind of intelligence… And some of them wielded weapons. Ancient and primitive-looking swords, bows, and spears… And now they all seemed to march together towards her ship.
Various forms, from weird black dogs, through Cyclops, dragon people, and so on… Auntie Dot could swear that somehow – by a complete and strange accident – they have found themselves in a mythology-themed world.
Still, un-human life forms were charging at her ship, most likely trying to take something that didn't belong to them. Cole Protocol must be activated-
"NO!"
Auntie Dot couldn't follow Cole Protocol. It wasn't an option, not now. She had to protect her Spartan. Following the Cole Protocol now would result in Noble Six's death. And she couldn't let that happen.
Dot materialized her holographic avatar near the hibernation pod where her last Spartan was still frozen. She watched him with nearly motherly affection in his asleep form. Oh, what she would do to just let him sleep a little more, to rest from Reach. But it would seem that the universe had different plans for them.
As monsters were coming closer, Dot started the procedure. It wouldn't take long before her Spartan will be awake and will be forced to once again fight. And as much as it did pain her AI heart, she had to do it.
Hibernation pod then got warmer and was no longer covered in eyes. Now Dot could see with her own holographic eyes her resting Spartan. And when the pod opened, she could see his first stirs.
"Noble Six? Wake up, I am in great need of your assistance!"
Six meanwhile just very fast – just like any other Spartan – shook off every negative effect hibernation had on him, and within seconds was ready to be in action.
"Auntie Dot? What's the situation."
Always on work… Auntie Dot noticed it. Noble Six didn't even need a moment to fully wake up. He was all ready to be sent to a battlefield. She knew it was normal for all Spartan, but she still couldn't shake off the feeling that it was… just purely wrong.
In her opinion, Six should have taken more time to adjust after the hibernation process. Sadly, right now her opinion didn't matter. After all, they were most likely under an attack.
Meanwhile, Six wasn't wasting any moment, as he grabbed his magnum and DMR. Then he moved to take his knives. The first one was a standard Titanium-A knife, given to every Spartan. The second one belonged to his fallen comrade, Emile A239. He could still remember how he died.
Emile A239, for him, also known as Noble Four… A bane to all that was a Covenant. He could still recall as he volunteered to stay on Reach so that Noble Six could escape. Of course, none of it happened, because he was soon killed by Sangheili warriors.
For a race that says that the honor is the most important thing, they sure quickly also turn into hypocrisy. They call all humans cowards.
And yet, they were the ones who had to backstab Noble Four to stop him. And even at that moment, Emile just stabbed the same Sangheili who dared to end his killing spree.
So what could be a better way to honor your friend, than to take his knife, and kill many more enemies this man's tool? To claim more lives of those bastards out there in your friend's name?
"A few dozens enemy forces are marching towards our ship. Not of Covenant or Innsurection in nature. Not fully human-like, but they have some resemblance to our species. From my perspective, they look like mutants. And judging by their behavior, they did not arrive with friendly terms"
That's all Six needed to know from Dot. That they were attacked. But he was also curious as to what exactly he will need to fight. Not covies' or innies', something that was similar to humans, but also wasn't them?
Mutants… That wasn't exactly what Noble Six expected to hear. Sure, he knew that phrase, sometimes Spartans were called that, but it was the first time anyone describes to him an enemy in that way. In theory, if they were mutants, they still should be treated as humans, at least according to The Mortal Dictata Act.
Obviously, all Spartans were somehow not under the power of that act.
If those mutants were attacking a property of the UNSC, then they should not be treated any better than Insurectioninsts. After all, all terrorists need to be put down.
"Dot, ideas?"
"Their weaponry is rather primitive, and they won't be able to breach the ship. Let's welcome them outside. Maybe they will just run away? Or change their minds?"
And so, Noble Six finished preparing his gear. He was ready to fight.
Soon, the only barrier between the ship and this weird world opened itself with a loud hiss. As soon as Six took his first step into this unknown planet, one of the mutants decided to shot him with an arrow. Said arrow only bounced off from his armor, not giving Spartan any damage.
"They have attacked you. UNSC protocols are clear as to what to do in that situation." Six only nodded his head. He was forced to deal with Insurectioninst many times before.
Six took out both of his knives and then used his enhanced muscle strength and capabilities of Mjolnir, to make a long and high jump. While in the air, he could see shocked faces of those mutants. And he also could now see all different versions of them.
To be honest, Noble Six could swear that he has seen them already somewhere. He couldn't say exactly why, but the felt something familiar within those mutants. Almost as if something was calling him – No.
There was no calling. There was nothing. Now Six knew. While he was still a recruit, he could recall some of the lessons about mythology. But they were mostly focused on strategy and survival. The part about gods and monsters was unimportant. Pure knowledge was all they needed.
Six painfully landed on the first monster. This particular mutant – or maybe, in this case, Six should say, a monster – was a weird combination of a female human and a snake-like creature with two tails working as her legs. Well, now, when the entire Mjolnir equipped Spartan used her as a landing pod, she was nothing more than a pile of meat.
Six didn't wait for another mutant to approach him. With un-human speed, he moved to another mutant on his left, aiming his Spartan knife at the nearest mutant's throat. And just like expected, he sliced a throat of a cyclops-like looking mutant without a hesitation. And then another. And another.
For an outsider, this whole thing would be beyond comprehension. It looked like the monsters were simply killed by a barely visible blur. As for monsters – or mutants for Six – they were soon, one by one, turned into a bloody mush.
Some of them tried to stop him, but it was pointless. He was too fast and too strong. All they could really do was just await their deaths.
Of course, there were some monsters, who had enough self-preservation instinct to know that they should run. But even they have soon found out that there was no escape from a Spartan. They were his target, and he would do anything to eliminate them.
As soon as Six noticed that some of the mutants were trying to escape, he started to run in their direction. Sure, he could use any of his weapons, but he had to assume that for a long time he will be forced to stay on a very limited amount of ammunition.
Besides, those mutants were easy to kill. There was no reason to waste even a single bullet on them.
As soon as he reached them, he showed them no mercy. He cut off their spine, twisted their necks, simply grabbed them be their leg or hand, and just throw them with all strength at the nearest wall. Soon, there was only one monster remaining.
"No… He must know about this… He must know!"
Noble Six stopped just for a second. This mutant could have important information. He could not just die, not yet.
"Who?" It was the only thing he said. A simple question with one word. But it was more than enough during interrogation.
"He… He sensed your arrival. He must be told about you-aaaagh!" Before this mutant could end his sentence, his skull was suddenly crashed with just one armored hand.
Some of you might say that this was reckless and stupid, but trust me, Noble Six learned more than you think. Now he knew that someone knew he would come here. He knew that someone was watching him. Someone was trying to lure him out.
But that would never work on a lone wolf such as Six. The hunt was his territory. He was the ultimate predator. Not even the entire alien planet full of enemies would stop him from achieving victory. In other words, the hunt was on.
Noble Six, after scouting around, decided to go back to the crashed ship to give a full report to Auntie Dot. He knew it wasn't over, and most likely more mutants will come to get them. Time was working against them.
Before he re-entered his own ship, he felt that someone else was watching him from afar. Noble Six only turned around, immediately noticing the new guest. Within a moment he noticed that this new person wasn't enemy – at least for now, but was simply curious as to what have just appeared. Still, if it will be necessary, then Noble Six will not hesitate to hunt this person down.
"I can also see him, Noble Six. Out of all people here, he is the most human-ish."
"Human-ish?"
"He looks like a human, but I never said he was one. I would be able to tell more if I was closer."
Noble Six wasn't exactly sure as to what to think about this place. During his whole Spartan life, he never encountered such a weird world as this one. World of stone labyrinths, mutants looking exactly like the mythical beast from old fairy tales.
Mutants… Some that look almost like humans, others barely resembling anything human-like… This world was definitely a weird one. And as of now, they have proven to be hostile. From Six's perspective, they were not better than any other insurrectionist.
Perhaps ONI already knew about this world. After all, ONI had many secrets. Perhaps this planet was one of the worlds that were closed and contained within? Was this world some kind of prison?
Either way, the priority, for now, would be contacting the ONI or UNSC forces. And if that was not an option, then the Cole Protocol would be placed into action.
As he entered the ship, he gazed upon Dot's avatar. She looked at him, with the same expression as before. Six couldn't exactly understand that. Why Dot was worried about him? He was a Spartan, one from the third generation. He was created for missions like these. He was a weapon for UNSC and ONI, nothing else than that.
And yet his AI companion seemed to have a different opinion.
But none of it mattered now. All Six needed to know, was where they were and how they could get out of here to known space…
"Dot. Status report."
And that is it for this chapter. I really hope that you liked it!
Anyway, a few pieces of information before we will part our ways. Sadly I cannot guarantee any form of the frequency of updates, and that is because I am very busy with my work. I have limited time as to when I can write, but I will do anything to create as best chapters as possible and as soon as possible.
Second thing – I will like to say a big thank you to all readers – this story just made a quick boom and gained follows and favorites faster than I anticipated. Which, once again, I am very thankful for. 54 favorites and 81 follows with just two chapters? You guys are awesome.
Another thing – I have a discord for fans of my work. Go and check it out if you want. Anything related to my projects will be posted there – so in other words, if you want to know about the progress of the story, possible ideas, or just want to be a part of said making progress – that place is definitely for you

So... I guess that is it for now. I really want to write another chapter ASAP and I have plenty of ideas as to what Noble Six should do now. And I want to share them with you. And not even my job will stop me from writing it down for you.
Anyway, see you in the next chapter!
Czechus says bye-bye!
