Hey guys, this should be a series of one-shots (more traditional this time) though some may connect (like be told in two or three parts). These should be based mostly off of artwork I found on deviantart.

"Pit Pat, Pit Pat"

Each drop seemed like it was taunting him. The rain knew, it must have known that he had not bathed in glue that morning. Why else would it come at such a force?

Perhaps he should have gir bring the voot? Thought Zim, though he quickly went against the idea. There were too skool children around. He probably could have just run from cover to cover if the rain wasn't pouring so hard.

"Rain! You have thwarted I the mighty…"

Zim stopped his monologue as he noticed two amber eyes well he couldn't actually see them but he knew they were looking at him.

"Forgot to bath in glue?" Asked Gaz as she stood just a few feet away from him.

"This is all your weather people's fault!" Zim replied. "They said fair skies with zero percent chance of precipitation."

"Their human Zim, we all are wrong sometimes." Replied Gaz.

"Yes, ZIm should have never trusted the humans who claim to know so much about earth weather!" Zim shouted back.

"Well see ya later I guess." Said Gaz as she turned to leave.

"Wait!" Zim shouted. "perhaps you wouldn't mind sharing…"

"Zim this umbrella is only big enough for one." Replied Gaz as she knew what he was going to ask.

"Hold on…" He responded. "…Zim wasn't finished."

Well, it was awkward, to say the least, and the looks they were getting weren't making Gaz feel any less awkward. Zim's bright idea was for him to piggyback her all the way home while she held the umbrella. Sure it worked, both she and Zim remained dry, but was she really willing to let everyone on the way home see her and Zim like this?

Well, it was too late now. They were about halfway home, plus it's not like she minded being carried home.

"Is the Gaz human doing okay up there?" Asked Zim.

"I'm fine." She replied. She was actually until she overheard a couple of girls from Dibs class near the crossroad.

"That's so cute." Said one.

"Yup, I knew those two would eventually get together." Said another.

Gaz knew one of those girls was Sarah, but she wasn't sure who the other one was. In truth, she didn't care what they thought at least not much, but she knew this may get back to Dib eventually and she wasn't looking forward to that conversation.

In truth though Zim and Dib's confrontations had been few and far between lately. It had been years since Zim's arrival on earth and he had fewer and fewer plans for taking it over, at least ones he actually carried out. He mostly went to school, came home, and almost never went out, even on weekends. Though occasionally he'd walk Gir, Gaz and Dib barely ever saw him aside from school. Gaz's eyes opened wider as she realized just how much she knew about Zim. She had definitely been spending way too much time watching Dib's cameras.

Then again, she had found herself alone a lot more lately. Their dad with his work and Dib had actually been way more active with the Paranormal investigations. He rarely even asked her to join him anymore. She would most likely say no, but it was nice to be asked.

"Wo!" Said Zim as he avoided a puddle. The shift caused Gaz's body to press against his slightly.

"Is the Gaz hum…"

"I'm fine Zim." She assured him. However, she had yet to readjust herself back to her initial position.

Gaz had actually used her left hand (her right was holding the umbrella) to balance herself and now said hand was wrapped around the alien's neck.

"Well, I guess if you're fine then Zim will continue walking." He told her as he started again.

Gaz remained wrapped tightly around Zim's upper area and in all honesty, her face began feeling hot as she did so. At least Zim didn't stink like Dib often did after long sessions of… well watching Zim. It was actually good to hu… well not hug but be close to someone who put a lot into his hygiene. Then again given his fear of germs he most likely overdid it.

The two stopped at a light near her home. Gaz could tell she was still blushing and she really didn't like that fact, but at the same time, she didn't want to let go of Zim. It was strange.

"Still doing okay there?" Asked Zim as he glanced at her.

"Just keep your eyes front." She told him.

Zim did so, but she couldn't help but notice a smile had made its way to his face.

Eventually, she stopped blushing and they made their way to her house.

"Wouldn't it have made more sense to go to your house since you need the umbrella?" Asked Gaz as she got off him.

"The umbrella is no longer necessary." Replied Zim.

Gaz looked at him as they separated. She then looked up beyond the umbrella.

"Wait when?" Asked Gaz.

"About ten minutes ago." Zim Replied.

"Then why did you carry me all the way home?"

Zim smiled.

"See you tomorrow little Gaz." He said as he turned to go home.

Gaz grunted after realizing why he continued carrying her despite the fact that the rain had stopped.

However, as she entered her house and put up the umbrella…

…A smile made its way to her face as well.

Thank you for all who made it to the end. Don't forget to leave a review.
