Ever since my ex went to jail (Jamie) thanks to Nami, I've slept a bit better at night. At least, I think, she's in jail still. I'm not really sure if she's still in the valley right now or if someone had bailed her out, but it's not really my biggest concern currently. What is, is that... ...
I've noticed that ever since then, that Nami has been a little distant with me these past few days. I go up to her to say hi or to give her a gift, but she'll just give me a little wave muttering 'hey' and then she briskly walks away from me. It makes my heart sink all the time - and I don't know what to do.
Today is the Harvest Festival though, apparently. It's first taking place inside the café with bringing a homemade dish, and then afterwards we all go stand outside of the inn while everyone dumps an ingredient into a big pot or something.
I'm considering using Apollo's golden egg that he laid the other day, and I made mashed sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top to bring to the café. I'm happy that some of my sweet potato crops grew early and I've been trying to give Nami some, but she's... avoiding me, it seems. I guess she's just in her head lately, I don't know.
With a sigh escaping my lips, I walked up to the café with a glass tray containing my heavenly-tasting sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top. Gavin opened the door as he politely greeted me and soon enough I walked inside. Cecelia, Matthew, and Vesta were all there sitting at the counter, while both Gavin and Lou were behind it. Plates of hot food were all scattered on the counter as everyone talked with one another as they ate, except for me really. I was quiet and I couldn't stop thinking about... Nami.
Suddenly I heard the door open from behind and I heard Gavin's voice say, "Sorry Nami, we're closed today because of the Harvest Festival."
My heart skipped a beat when I heard him say Nami's name and ever so slowly, I turned around to look at her.
Nami seemed to glance back at me for a brief moment before returning her gaze towards Gavin; her expression rather stoic. "I just wanted to buy a drink."
Before Gavin could even respond back to her, Matthew then abruptly said to me, "Hey Kayla, pay up when you're done eating by the way. A lot of vegetables from our fields were used in today's dishes."
Almost everyone literally gasped by hearing those words of pure audacity come out of his mouth, my eyes even went wide with shock.
Before I could even say anything, Nami suddenly charged up to the counter and slammed money down in front of Matthew, her icy-sapphire eyes glaringly menacingly at him without saying a word.
Stunned silence filled the room.
Nami looked beyond pissed. "Tch." She huffed bitterly under her breath as she turned around with her hands in her pockets and stormed out of the cafe.
I wanted to call out Nami's name, but I couldn't get any words out.
I hope she saw my mashed sweet potatoes on the table... with marshmallows.
