Chapter 3: Welcome to Hazbin Hotel

Along the way, Anya observed her surroundings and other people. She also pointed out and asked Angel Dust some questions about things thatcaught her attention, who in turn answered her in a way that she could easily understand.

The child could see in his mind that he seemed uncomfortable approaching certain places she pointed out and thought of a way to dodge some of these questions.

Out of nowhere, Anya's stomach began to growl, indicating that she was starting to get hungry. Angel noticed this, and commented with a slight smile. - "Hungry? Relax, they should be preparing dinner by now."

Anya smiled at the answer, and lightly licked her lips, thinking about what she could eat. But then, she asked:

"Will Anya have to do anything before eating?"

Dust looked at her quickly, confused, until he understood the context of the question. - "Like, wash your hands or take a shower? Probably, yes. After all, you were in the alleys or in the trash. It's important to be clean so we can eat, isn't it, girl?"

Anya chuckled lightly at his answer, as she thought of another question. - "Mr. Dust, who else lives in this hotel?" -"Just wait and see, kid." - he replied.

Minutes into the walk, Anya heard Angel Dust announce to her. - "And here we are, Anya. Welcome to Hazbin Hotel."

Anya looked at the hotel before her, fascinated. - "It looks like a giant castle..." - she muttered, still in awe. Dust smiled at her comment and continued. - "Ready to see what it's like inside?"

Anya looked at him and nodded, a wide smile on her face.

After that, they both entered the hotel, making Anya's eyes shine even brighter. Dust let go of Anya's hand, allowing her to run down the hallway ahead and look around more.

While running without paying attention, the little child ended up bumping into something, making her fall to the looked up to see a woman looking at her with brief anger, before her expression changed to surprise. - "Who the hell let that thing in here?!" - she asked in disbelief.

Anya was frightened not only by the woman but also by the frightening thoughts she read in her mind. Quickly, Angel Dust ran towards them and tried to calm things down.

"Wow, wow, wow! Calm down, it's okay, Vaggie! She's just a kid! Okay? Just call Charlie, and I'll explain everything, okay?"

The woman, named Vaggie, raised an eyebrow at him, but then she sighed and nodded. - "Okay, just keep an eye on her until we get back." - then she left.

With that, Angel helped Anya get up from the floor, who was still in a state of fear and shock. - "Shhh, it's okay now. Vaggie can be hot-headed from time to time, but she won't hurt you, okay?"

The girl regained her senses and looked at him, embarrassed. - "S-sorry. Anya didn't seethat there was a person standing here." - Anya felt like she was going to cry at that moment.

"It's okay, no need to cry. We'll just sort this out, and everything will be okay." - he assured the little girl, making her calm down a little.

Moments later, another woman appeared, accompanied by Vaggie. She glanced briefly at Anya and sighed in surprise.

"Oh my, look how cute you are, kid!" - she exclaimed, leaning down and pinching Anya's cheeks, who was taken aback. From the thoughts she could read, this other woman seemed to be good and trustworthy, making Anya feel relaxed in her presence.

Then the other woman freed her cheeks and began to ask. - "Tell me, what is your name and how did you end up here, child?"

Anya thought for a moment and replied. - "My name is Anya, and well... I don't really know how I ended up here. Anya remembers that was followed by some bad guys who wanted to sell me or something. But then Mr. Dust found me and brought me here." - As much as she wanted to say that she came through a portal, she didn't feel confident enough to tell anyone about it, for now.

"Do you have parents or something? They must be looking for you right now, right?" - the woman asked her again, in a worried tone of voice.

Anya looked down briefly and replied sadly. - "Anya actually lived in an orphanage."

That answer took the three of them by surprise. Not only did that girl not know where her parents were, but she also lived in an orphanage, which meant that she was either an orphan or had been abandoned.

They noticed some tears starting to stream down Anya's face, as she seemed to be briefly in shock or something.

"Hey, calm down. It's okay. You don't have to be like this, okay? We're just going to take care of you, now." - declared the woman, trying to reassure the child.

"But Charlie, we can't let a child live in a hotel. We don't even have experience with one." - Vaggie exclaimed nervously.

"I know, Vaggie. But we can't leave her alone either. This is Hell, where they can do horrible things to her. She herself said that she was followed and almost sold by a group of bad guys." - the woman, named Charlie, explained.

That took Anya by surprise. She had ended up in Hell? She then understood what Angel Dust had meant by "this is the place where people who have made a lot of mistakes end up". So did that mean they had also done something wrong to end up here?!

"You three did something wrong too, didn't you?" - she asked, scared and sad. She didn't want to believe that Charlie and Angel Dust had done something wrong, especially since they had been kind to her.

The three of them didn't know what to say to her, especially since she was a child. So Charlie decided to explain the basics of things to her.

"Well, Anya. Yes, but it's not what you think. I was born here, and I'm practically the princess of Hell. But don't worry, we don't plan on hurting you or anything like that. Not everyone here is completely evil, they just did wrong things. But I can't say for the rest. And long story short, I decided to open this hotel with the intention of helping some people here redeem themselves and go to heaven. For that, we need at least one soul to redeem themselves to prove that this can work. Do you understand?"

Anya looked at each of them, and then pointed and questioned Angel Dust, curiously and sadly. - "What did you do wrong, Mr. Dust?"

Angel was taken aback by the question, but he regained his composure and cleared his throat. - "How can I put it... I got myself into trouble that made me... end up here." - He answered, in a way that she couldn't explicitly understand.

But despite this, Anya read his thoughts, and understood that it was a very complicated matter even for him. So she nodded at his explanation, before looking back at Charlie and Vaggie.

"Anya understands. And Anya believes in the potential of this hotel." - she exclaimed, raising her arms up.

Charlie smiled at the child's response and declared. - "Thank you for understanding, Anya. And don't worry, you'll be safe here and have a place to stay without paying anything. We'll take care of you."

Anya smiled at her, touched by her answer. Vaggie just sighed. - "I'm not responsible for what she does around here."

"As if you could be responsible for anything, Vaggie." - Angel teased, smirking at her. Vaggie just rolled her eyes and then smiled darkly. - "Okay, so you're responsible for her. You brought her in, so you will be her legal guardian."

"What the...?! Me?!" - Angel Dust felt completely caught off guard, while Anya started celebrating and running around him. - "Yay, Anya will also be able to stay with Mr. Dust!"

Charlie just laughed and then commented. - "Anyway, dinner will be ready soon, so let's just get ready to go eat. And Anya can take the opportunity to clean up herself, too."

As soon as she left the room, Anya began to follow her, still celebrating. In the end, Vaggie and Angel Dust found themselves alone in the two stared at each other briefly, and Dust growled.

"Can you tell me what the fuck was that, Vaggie?! Me, her legal guardian?! I don't even know her well and I have a lot of things to deal with, and I can't have a child included in all of this!"

Vaggie just shrugged and replied. - "Maybe this can teach you to get your life in order and take more responsibility, Angel. And not to mention that you already seemed attached to her when you brought her, so it doesn't matter." - With that, she left immediately, smiling darkly again, leaving Dust alone in the room to acknowledge his new responsibility thrown on his shoulders.

01/10/2025: As I had predicted, the third chapter was really complicated to write. But I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of things. And once again, I apologize for any mistakes in the lines and characters, as I'm still watching the series and trying to better capture the essence of each one. But there's always a first time for everyone. I hope you like it and look forward to the next chapter. Any reviews and comments will be welcome to help me improve the next chapters.
