AN: So I'm pretty sure I had you know what. It was not fun I basically stayed in bed sleeping or reading other fics. So I've been redoing the arcs in the visual novel and I honestly don't think I can dip too far into Heaven's Feel in this Yeah I can treat characters badly at times but all that is on a whole nother level of f*** no. Honestly, Takato already went through a mini version of that with the D-Reaper and Jeri.
Chapter 5
Shirou made his way to the school wondering how he could help Sakura. He remembered he promised to be a hero to someone but he didn't know who. How far was he willing to go to be a hero though? His father had also wanted to be a hero but he crossed too many lines and lost his path in the bloodshed of assassin work. Kiritsugu had confessed to him the night before he passed and warned Shirou about diving too deep into ideals. Shinji was the obvious culprit as he had caught him striking Sakura a few years ago, but why didn't their grandpa stop him? He knew they had some connection to the moonlight world thanks to the notes his father left him but what kind of connection was unknown. Shirou took a breath and let it out, with Guilmon now at the house Shirou had been concerned about how magecraft would be affected or how it would affect the Digimon so he had refrained from practicing. He was bout to use Reinforcement to help him sprint to school but a strange chill rolled down his back.
"You better summon someone soon or you might die Onii chan." A small child looked at him before turning the corner. Shirou ran after her to find that she had vanished.
"Weird kid," Shirou muttered before continuing his walk. Deciding he can just do the training on the way back when it was later in the day. He followed the road and eventually got to the gate and messaged Issei that he was there.
"Excuse me do you go to this school?" Someone asked. Shirou looked and saw the same girl he had helped the other day, a boy with blue hair, and a brown-haired girl with goggles around her neck.
"Uh yeah I do but there's no school at the moment except for clubs. Is there something you need?" Shirou asked.
"I see. Would you perhaps know a Fujimura Taiga? We heard she was a teacher here." The boy asked.
"Ah yeah, she's actually a neighbor of mine, you just missed her," Shirou explained.
"Darn and that was our only lead." The red-haired girl cursed.
"Calm down Rika, It just means we'll have to look harder."
"Are you in some kind of trouble?" Shirou asked.
"No! We were just looking for someone and we were told Fujimura could help us." The boy explained.
"Oh? I might be able to help." Shirou offered. 'Sorry, Guilmon I might be coming home later.'
"We're looking for the person who survived that large fire a few years back, I think his name is Shirou Emiya." Rika? Explained.
"Oh," Shirou wasn't sure what to do. He could say they found him but he had already promised to help Issei, and after the last person, he was on edge. After a second passed he came up with an answer, he figured Taiga would be able to tell if they were safe so he decided to send them to her. So he explained how to get to Taiga's house from here if they were dangerous well he's seen Taiga take down people twice her size with ease and if not, he'll probably have more mouths to feed.
"Thank you so much for the help." The boy bowed.
"Momentai," Shirou said waving them off. The brown-haired girl stopped and stared at him for an uncomfortable amount of time as the others continued on. "Uh, aren't you going to join them?" Shirou felt awkward.
"Oh, sorry." The girl hurried off after them.
"What was that about Jeri?" Rika asked as they walked off.
Shirou shook his head and released the subtle reinforcement on his ears, he had a job to do and he could worry about those three later. They didn't seem to be involved with the girl from earlier. He made his way onto the school grounds and continued on towards the student council room. Upon entering he found Issei messing with the heater.

Taiga stretched as she finished the lunch made by Sakura. As the girl was cleaning the dishes Taiga took a look at the plushie Sakura had been clinging to earlier. Thinking about it the thing kinda looked like one of those what were they called, Digi something that was so popular back in the day. Sakura didn't look like the type of person who would be interested in that sort of thing so it was probably Shirou's but that couldn't be it either, Shirou had amnesia and that stuff was popular before the fire. Her curiosity was getting the better of her when Sakura came running in.
"Fuji-Sensei there are some people walking up to your door." Sakura pointed out the window. Taiga looked and saw three teens walking up to her door, but she had never seen them before so she wondered if it had to do with her grandfather.
"Sakura, Stay out of sight I'll see what they want." Taiga stood up and went to the door and moved to the fence separating the two houses. "Heya!~ Whatcha doing over there?~" The teens jumped as if they were caught.
"Oh uh, we're just looking for Taiga Fujimura," The only boy in the group answered.
"~Why's that?~ Not looking for a date are you?~" Taiga couldn't help but tease the poor kid.
"D-d-date? NO! I uh already have a girlfriend." The boy blushed. "We just wanted to ask her some questions."
"Oh is that all?~" Taiga hopped the fence. "~One sec I'll see if she's in.~" Taiga made her way to her door unlocked it and closed it as she went in. ~Taiga you here? Oh, there you are~" She suppressed the urge to laugh. If they were from her grandfather they should have known what she look like. She turned and opened the door.
"~What do you want to know? I'll answer anything except my sizes.~" She grinned.
"Wha-but." The boy looked so lost and the red-haired girl sighed.
"I'm guessing your Fujimura-san correct?" The girl asked.
"~Bingo! You'd get a gold star if I had any with me.~" Taiga shook from amusement seeing the annoyance on the red-heads face and the other girl using a sock puppet to calm the boy down.
"W… Well I'm Rika Nonaka and we're looking for an old fired but he hasn't answered our calls or anything in the past few years," Rika explained.
"Ah," Taiga had a feeling she knew why but who knows. "So you want to know if I know them because I'm a teacher?" The three nodded. "Anything you can tell me about them?"
"He's got brownish-red hair, and red eyes but on occasion, they look more like red amber. He loves to help people in danger and he loves the old show Digimon." Rika explained. To Taiga, it sounded like Shirou but the eyes were different and she wasn't one hundred percent on the Digimon thing. "We know there was a fire and lots of people lost their lives but we never saw his name on the list of casualties. We know at least one person lived and I know it sounds like a long shot but we'd like to meet this Shirou Emiya just to give us some kind of closure."
Taiga thought about it, if they knew she was a teacher they probably tried the school but couldn't find her, and her address wasn't public knowledge. So they must have run into Shirou and he sent them to her. So likely they asked about him and since he didn't know them this was his way of feeling them out. Overall they seemed like good kids, the boy reminded her of a more level-headed Shirou who wasn't used to teasing, and Rika reminded her a bit of her younger self. The other girl worried her, she didn't seem dangerous but she had that same look that Sakura tried to hide from her from time to time. She nodded to herself, who knows maybe Shirou is who they are looking for, memories aren't always correct.
"Well, you just missed him. If you aren't busy he'll be back in a few hours, There's some leftover food at his place next door let me just hop over and grab some." Taiga not waiting for an answer jumped the fence and entered Shirou's house. The Plushie was gone and Sakura was heating some food. "So you heard all that huh? Well, you did stay out of sight but that was dangerous, if they had been there for me then you could have been hurt."

The repairs took longer than he thought they would but Shirou was finally done. He started making his way off campus but he heard something odd, metal hitting metal and the sound was coming from the sports field and not the dojo. Curiosity getting the better of him he made his way closer and focused on seeing better. It was an odd talent but it sometimes came in handy. He saw a man in red with two swords attacking a man wearing blue with a red spear, Filling he saw something he shouldn't have he took a step back.
"Who's there?!" One of the two yelled. Shirou cursed his luck and ran back inside hoping he could put enough distance between himself and the two fighters but he heard footsteps behind him, as he got to the top floor he felt a rush of air and skidded to a stop. He started pumping reinforcement into his limbs but before he could see anything he felt something pierce his chest and he fell down the last image he saw was the man in blue.
"Blame your poor luck kid. You saw something you shouldn't have but I'm merciful your death was quick." With those words, everything went black. Something odd happened and it was like a damaged file opened and images of a past, his past played, they were damaged but he saw himself with Guilmon fighting against other Digimon and three people helping them.
AN: Digimon was a thing during the holy grail war but Tamers and Zero happened at the same time so while the fire damaged most of his memories beyond repair he remembers bits and pieces of his past now just not the whole thing. If you are wondering why it's because of the time he spent fused as Gallantmon so a small portion of his mind is digital and the fire couldn't harm it.
