The dim glow of the Kraang communication orb pulsed erratically, its colors shifting from blue to a deep, urgent purple. Donatello's eyes widened as he leaned in, his fingers flying over the keyboard.

"Holy Toledo!"

April, standing beside him in the lab, turned at his outburst. "What's with the alarm, Donnie?"

Donnie adjusted his glasses, never taking his eyes off the screen. "The Kraang communication orb's going haywire, which means those little brain-blobs are up to something big."

April frowned, watching the stream of alien text flash across the monitor. "What is this? Some kind of alien language?"

Donnie nodded, already working to decipher the code. "Exactly. If I can translate this, we might figure out what they're planning."

The screen flickered as lines of Kraang script converted into English. Donnie and April leaned in to read the words—and their faces drained of color.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Leo, Raph, Mikey, Mari, and Cat lounged on the couch, completely engrossed in the television.

"And now, the final episode of Space Heroes," the announcer's voice declared.

On-screen, the starship was under siege, alarms blaring as the crew panicked.

"Captain, the destructinators are on our tail! We're lost!" Crankshaw cried.

Ryan, ever the fearless leader, remained composed. "I've got an idea. It's crazy. It defies all logic. It's illegal in sixteen solar systems, and my mother would most assuredly not approve. But it just might work."

He pressed a button dramatically.

Nothing happened.

"Nope! Abandon ship!"

The crew scrambled to escape.

"Captain, aren't you coming?"

Ryan stood tall. "A true captain goes down with his ship."

Crankshaw hesitated. "Sir, it's been a privilege—"

Ryan slapped him across the face. "Just go."

As the doors sealed shut, Ryan turned to his ship, placing a hand on the console.

"Well, old girl, it's just you and me."

Leo sat on the couch, eyes shining with admiration. "What a hero."

Raph rolled his eyes. "More like an idiot."

Mari huffed, stretching her legs out onto the coffee table. "No, Raph's right. Why not just leave with everyone else? No one cares about 'true captain' garbage if you're dead."

"Because it's honorable," Leo argued, as if the answer was obvious.

"Oh, yeah. Super honorable," Mari deadpanned. "Right up until he gets vaporized."

Cat, curled up next to Mikey, gasped. "Wait—does that mean he's actually gonna—?"

Before she could get her answer, the TV clicked off.

Leo whirled around. "What are you doing?! That's the final episode of Space Heroes!"

Standing in the doorway, Donnie crossed his arms. "I've got something a little more important."

In the lab, the turtles gathered around Donnie and April as the translated message played on the screen.

"The final phase of the plan known as Kraang's invasion shall commence in the unit of time that is six hours. The Technodrome shall arrive from Dimension X through the portal."

Mikey frowned. "Are you sure this is the translated version?"

Donnie turned to face them, his expression grim. "They said in six hours, something called the Technodrome is coming through that portal. This is the final phase of the Kraang invasion."

Leo's mind raced. "Wait. But I thought April was the key to the Kraang plot, and they don't have her."

Donnie shook his head. "If that Technodrome comes through, it doesn't matter. It sounds like the end of the world."

The room went silent.

Mari folded her arms. "Well, that's just fantastic."

Cat hugged herself, looking up at Donnie. "So... end of the world? Like, literally?"

"Literally," Donnie confirmed.

Raph cracked his knuckles. "So what do we do?"

Leo set his jaw, determination burning in his eyes. "We have to find a way to shut that portal down. It's up to us."

Mikey blinked. "To save the world?"

A familiar voice echoed from the doorway.

"Leonardo is right."

The turtles turned as Splinter stepped into the room, his presence immediately commanding their full attention.

"When you first went up to the surface, I feared you were not ready. But I have come to realize that you are not only ready to become heroes—it was your destiny. And if the fate of the world must rest in somebody's hands, I am grateful it is yours."

The turtles exchanged looks, their resolve strengthening.

Mari scoffed but nodded. "No pressure or anything."

Cat exhaled shakily. "We—we can do this. Right?"

"Obviously," Raph muttered.

One by one, they nodded.

Leo turned to leave, but Splinter called him back. "Leonardo. A moment, please."

Leo paused, watching as his siblings and April disappeared down the hall before turning back to his sensei.

"With the world at stake, the only thing of importance is that you complete your mission," Splinter said, his voice calm but firm. "No matter what you have to sacrifice... or who."

Leo's throat tightened.

"Yes, Sensei."

As Splinter walked away, Leo's gaze flickered toward the shadows. Someone was watching them.

Kirby O'Neil stood still, his eyes following Leo's every movement.

Leo narrowed his eyes slightly before turning to join his family.

The turtles moved quickly, preparing for battle. Smoke pellets, knives, extra shuriken—all gathered and strapped into their belts as they formulated a plan.

Donnie worked furiously in the lab, welding and fine-tuning a set of winged gliders, each one designed to help them maneuver through the city undetected.

April lingered near the entrance, her fingers curled into fists.

Mari sat on the arm of the couch, tightening the straps on her tanto holsters, while Cat hesitated near the doorway, twirling a tessen anxiously in her hands.

Donnie turned as April stepped forward.

She hesitated—then, before he could react, she threw her arms around him.

Donnie's face went bright red, his arms awkwardly hovering in the air before slowly returning the hug.

"Be careful," April murmured.

Donnie gulped, nodding mutely.

Mari made a face. "Ugh. Do you have to get all mushy with my brother in front of me?"

April shot her a look.

"Okay, okay, yeesh."

Cat fidgeted, then suddenly lunged forward, throwing her arms around April next. "Ima miss youuuu!"

April stumbled. "Ack—Cat! You're crushing my ribs!"

She pulled back, sniffling. "Sorry."

"Yeah, yeah, keep it moving," Raph muttered, grabbing his sai.

Outside, the Shellraiser roared to life.

Leo stepped into the doorway, looking back at his siblings. His gaze was steady, unwavering.

"Gentlemen—" he glanced at his sisters, "—and ladies," he corrected, gripping the hilt of his katanas.

"Let's save the world."

The turtles piled into the Shellraiser. The doors slid shut.

And with a roar of the engine, they sped off into the night.

The Shellraiser rumbled down the street, its armored frame cutting through the city like a bullet in the night. Inside, the turtles sat tense, each one preparing for the battle ahead.

Leo gripped the steering wheel, his voice steady and commanding. "All right, guys, we're gonna keep it simple. We get to T.C.R.I., use the micro-fission omni-disintegrator, and destroy the portal with a single shot. Donnie calculated that it's powerful enough to shut it down completely."

Mikey perked up from the back. "Well, then, why didn't we use it last time?"

Donnie turned to him with a deadpan expression. "Because we didn't have it last time."

Mikey clicked his tongue. "You always have an answer for everything, don't you, Donnie?"

Donnie smirked. "Yes. Yes, I do."

Raph snorted. "Good one, Donnie." Then, shifting his attention to Leo, his voice grew serious. "Speaking of 'good one,' are you sure this plan will work, fearless leader?"

Mari, adjusting the straps of her tanto, leaned against the side of the Shellraiser. "If it doesn't, we'll all be toast anyway, so let's just get on with it."

Cat shifted uncomfortably in her seat, fiddling with the edge of her tessen. "Could we not talk about 'being toast' before the mission even starts?"

Leo's hands tightened on the wheel. "It has to work."

The towering silhouette of T.C.R.I. loomed against the darkened sky, its cold steel structure buzzing with eerie, otherworldly energy.

Inside, the Kraang patrolled the halls, their movements precise and mechanical. At the building's entrance, a Kraang operative disguised as Dr. Campbell strolled into the main chamber. She moved with calculated precision, flanked by a pair of Norman droids, their hollow eyes scanning the room for any intruders.

A low rumbling vibrated beneath their feet.

The Kraang turned sharply toward the noise, their blank expressions betraying no concern.

Then the walls shook.

The Shellraiser came barreling through the front doors, shattering glass and sending debris flying. Kraang scrambled in all directions as alarms blared. Dr. Campbell barely managed to dodge, her robotic exterior flickering as she twisted out of the way.

Before she could recover—

WHAM!

A fist met her face.

She stumbled back, circuits sparking, as Metalhead rolled forward, its robotic eyes glowing.

"Booyakasha!" Donnie's voice crackled through the intercom.

Metalhead unleashed a storm of laser blasts, cutting down the nearest droids in a barrage of sparks and smoke.

"Meet Metalhead! I see you!" Donnie announced gleefully as the robot advanced, torch in hand, setting Kraang droids ablaze.

Meanwhile, outside—

The turtles soared through the air, gliders strapped to their backs, wind whipping past them as they whooped with exhilaration. Their white eyes gleamed against the night sky.

Raph grinned mid-flight. "Nice work, Donnie!"

Mikey whooped. "You know what it's time for? The world's first-ever midair high-three!"

He stretched his hand toward Raph.

Raph rolled his eyes. "Yeah, no."

Undeterred, Mikey cackled. "Turtles were born to fly!"

Mari, right beside them, was smirking. "You're all a bunch of amateurs." She flipped midair, controlling her glider with ease before landing.

Cat, however, was not having the time of her life. "Turtles were not born to fly!" she yelped, gripping her glider for dear life.

Mari laughed as she smoothly landed beside her. "Try not to scream on the way down, yeah?"

Leo led the charge, eyes locked on the rooftop ahead. "All right, guys. Let's do this."

With expert precision, they maneuvered their gliders and landed onto the T.C.R.I. rooftop, rolling into position.

Raph glanced around, spotting a security camera sweeping the area. A smirk crossed his face.

He knelt, holding out his hand.

A pigeon landed delicately on his palm.

"You're up, buddy," Raph whispered, then launched the bird toward the camera.

The pigeon flapped directly in front of the lens, obscuring the feed.

Leo nodded in approval. "Let's move."

The team crept forward, sticking to the shadows. Two Kraang guards stood near the entrance, their robotic monotone voices filling the silence.

"It is quiet," one Kraang observed.

The second Kraang nodded. "Precisely the correct amount of quiet."

Mikey smirked. "Hey, Kraang. Nah nah nah nah nah!"

The Kraang turned, weapons raised—

But Mikey leapt off the ledge.

Startled, the Kraang peered over the edge, searching for him.

They didn't get the chance to react.

CRACK!

Donnie swung his bo staff, knocking both Kraang off the rooftop.

As they plummeted toward the ground, one muttered, "This is going to leave that which is known as a mark."

The second droid simply replied, "Affirmative."

The impact was punctuated by the distant sound of metal crashing against pavement.

Mari huffed. "These things are way too easy to beat. Where's the challenge?"

"Can we not ask for a challenge?" Cat whispered harshly.

Leo motioned toward the edge of the rooftop. "We're heading down."

The turtles secured their grappling hooks, their ropes taut as they slid silently toward the lower levels of the T.C.R.I. building.

Inside T.C.R.I., the air hummed with an unnatural energy. The Kraang scurried around their control panels, their robotic voices droning as they prepared to open the Technodrome. The massive, spherical war machine loomed above the portal, its metallic surface pulsing with an eerie, neon glow.

From their vantage point on the ceiling, the turtles and their sisters clung to the shadows, eyes locked onto the scene unfolding below.

Donnie adjusted his visor, whispering urgently, "We gotta take out that portal."

Raph, peering past him, tensed. "I forgot about him."

Below them, the monstrous Traag stomped forward, his molten rock form radiating searing heat. The massive creature let out a guttural rumble, his glowing eyes scanning the chamber.

Donnie swallowed hard. "Don't worry. We'll be gone before that rock monster even knows we're here."

Leo crouched, steadying his launcher, his expression set with determination. "Okay, guys. This all ends in three... two... one—"

He pulled the trigger.

BOOM!

The energy blast hurtled toward the portal—

Only to collide against an invisible barrier.

A force field crackled, rippling like an electric wave before rendering the attack useless.

Leo's eyes widened. "What?! There's a force field?! Why didn't you tell me?!"

Donnie whipped around, exasperated. "Oh, because I wanted us to FAIL—OBVIOUSLY, I DIDN'T KNOW!!!"

Mari groaned. "Great. This just got worse."

Before anyone could respond, a deafening alarm blared.

The Kraang turned, their dull, robotic voices rising in urgency.

"Intruders detected."

"Engaging defense protocol."

The entire facility exploded into chaos.

Kraang droids raised their weapons, laser fire cutting through the air.

Raph gritted his teeth, deflecting blasts with his sai. "Anyone got a plan B?!"

The ground trembled.

A massive shadow loomed beneath them.

A deep, earth-shaking growl filled the room.

Traag looked up.

His burning, molten eyes locked onto the turtles, and with a guttural roar, he swung a colossal fist.

The ceiling shattered.

The turtles plummeted toward the ground.

Mari flipped mid-air, landing in a roll and instantly springing to her feet, tanto drawn.

Cat, however, landed less gracefully, tumbling forward with a shriek. "Owww!" She scrambled up, gripping her tessen tightly. "This is already a nightmare!"

Leo rolled to his feet, gripping the launcher tightly. Traag lumbered toward them, lava dripping from his jagged jaw.

"Donnie!" Leo barked, struggling to reload. "How's that plan B coming?"

Donnie frantically dodged laser fire, his fingers flying across his wrist console. "I'm thinking!"

Mikey flipped over a Kraang, kicking it in the head. "Think faster, dude!"

Mari sliced through an incoming droid, scowling. "Or stop thinking and just do it!"

Leo barely ducked in time as a stream of molten lava spewed past him, scorching the floor where he had just stood. He raised the launcher, aiming fast—

BOOM!

The blast ripped through Traag's leg.

The rock giant let out a furious bellow, his limb crumbling into molten debris.

Still, he didn't stop.

Traag lunged, swinging his remaining arm toward Leo—

BOOM!

Leo fired again, blasting off Traag's other arm.

The beast staggered, lava bubbling from his wounds.

But still, he didn't fall.

Raph growled. "Oh, come on!"

Cat took an uneasy step back. "Uh, maybe he doesn't need arms?"

Mari scowled. "That's not how this works!"

Leo grit his teeth. "Think faster, Donnie!"

Donnie ducked behind a terminal, typing frantically. "I can probably hack into the Kraang system—if you give me enough time!"

Cat yelped as a Kraang lunged at her. She deflected its attack with her tessen but stumbled back, wide-eyed.

Mari immediately slashed through it, eyes flicking toward her younger sister. "Cat! Focus!"

"I'm trying!" Cat huffed. "But I'm also panicking!"

Raph rolled his eyes, kicking a droid across the room. "Yeah, yeah, welcome to the club!"

Leo deflected another laser blast with his katana. "Great—do that!"

The turtles split up, weaving through the crossfire as Donnie worked.

Kraang droids closed in.

The portal crackled.

Traag let out a deep, guttural growl and swung his massive fist toward Leo.

Leo barely dodged, rolling to the side as the ground shook beneath the impact. He gritted his teeth, glancing at the launcher in his hands. The charge was nearly depleted.

"This thing's running out of juice!" he called.

From across the battlefield, Mikey pointed toward the center of the room, his expression morphing into pure panic.

"And, uh—guys? Look!"

All eyes shot toward the portal.

A deep, electric hum filled the chamber as the energy swirled violently, pulsing with an ominous glow.

Leo's stomach dropped.

"Whatever's coming through that portal is gonna be here soon."

Raph, dodging a Kraang blast, snarled, "When's that force field coming down, Donnie?!"

"I'm working on it!" Donnie barked, fingers flying over the control panel.

Before Raph could snap back, a laser struck him, knocking him off his feet. He rolled, flipping his sai into a defensive position. With a growl, he charged forward, hurling a Kraang droid to the ground and stabbing through its chest.

Mari wasn't far behind, slicing through another Kraang droid with deadly precision. "If this plan doesn't work, I swear—" She ducked a laser blast and stabbed her tanto forward. "—I'm blaming Donnie."

"Excuse me?!" Donnie shouted.

Meanwhile, Cat yelped as she dodged past a Kraang droid, her tessen barely blocking a strike. She stumbled, panting. "This is officially the worst day of my life."

Raph rolled his eyes, kicking another droid. "Yeah, yeah, you've never said that before."

Leo grabbed a Kraang soldier and threw it toward Traag, using it as an impromptu projectile. The molten rock creature barely reacted—until Leo fired his launcher directly at its head.

BOOM!

Traag's limbs flew apart, the force of the impact tearing him to pieces.

Mikey barely had time to process what happened before the rock monster began pulling himself back together.

Mikey yelped, backpedaling. "Uh, I forgot he could do that!"

Donnie cursed under his breath, hands still working at the controls. "Not good. Guys, I think I got it! Yes! All hail me!"

The force field flickered—

And then came the sound of metal groaning against metal.

Everyone froze.

A massive beacon of light shot upward from the portal, splitting the sky apart.

And then it emerged.

The Technodrome.

A colossal, metallic sphere, covered in towering cannons, laser turrets, and reinforced plating.

It hovered menacingly, blotting out the stars.

Mikey's jaw dropped. "Holy giant floating shippy-ship."

The Kraang droids immediately opened fire, their lasers lighting up the room.

Mikey ducked, scrambling behind cover. "Leo, do the zippy-zappy thing, NOW!"

Leo aimed the launcher, squeezing the trigger. "Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby—"

Click.

A pathetic puff of smoke escaped from the gun's barrel.

The turtles groaned in unison.

Donnie's eye twitched. "What the heck happened?!"

Leo checked the weapon in horror. "I think the batteries died."

Mari threw her hands up. "Are you KIDDING ME?!"

Raph snarled. "And we'll be joining 'em unless someone thinks of something!"

Donnie clutched his head. "What's plan C, Leo?!"

Leo stared at the central power cell at the heart of the facility. His mind raced.

"...Donnie, what would happen if I ruptured the power cell?"

Donnie's blood ran cold. He turned slowly toward Leo, his expression a mixture of horror and disbelief.

"The whole place would go up. With us in it."

Leo tightened his grip on his katana.

"Go."

Donnie's stomach dropped. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Leo—you're not thinking what I think you're thinking!"

Mikey's face paled. "He's thinking it!"

Cat blinked. "Wait—WHAT is he thinking?!"

Mari's eyes widened in horror. "Leo, NO—"

But Leo was already moving.

He charged, dodging Kraang blasts as he sliced through droids, moving toward the power cell with deadly precision.

A Kraang droid lunged—Leo spun, cutting it down.

Another blast whizzed past his head.

He didn't stop.

He reached the core, katana gleaming in the flickering red light.

One strike.

That's all it would take.

Mari was already moving toward him, reaching for his arm. "Leo, WAIT—"

With a final breath, Leo plunged his sword into the power cell.

BOOM!

A shockwave ripped through the entire facility.

Leo was launched backward, flames erupting around him.

Mari and Cat screamed as the explosion tore through the room.

The force sent him hurtling toward the open air—

And just as he was about to plummet—

A strong hand grabbed him.

Raph.

"I gotcha!" Raph yelled, hauling Leo up onto the rooftop.

Leo gasped, clutching onto his brother as the fire raged below them.

Raph grinned. "Yeah! Whoo! In your face, gravity!"

Leo coughed, still catching his breath. "...Thanks, Raph."

Raph smirked, patting his shoulder. "Anytime, buddy."

From the rooftop, they turned back—just in time to see Mari, Donnie, and Mikey dragging Cat up to safety. Cat was trembling, gripping onto Donnie's arm for dear life.

"That was HORRIBLE," she wheezed.

"You're fine," Mari huffed, but the tension in her voice said otherwise.

Donnie stood a few feet away, gawking. "I can't believe it." His voice was almost breathless. "We saved the world."

Mikey threw his hands up. "YEAH! That wasn't so hard, was it?"

Then—

A low rumble shook the earth.

The Technodrome loomed in the distance, its eye glowing an ominous, burning red.

Mikey's shoulders slumped.

"...I gotta stop saying stuff like that."
