Heyo lads. Been a couple weeks since my last chapter. I'm glad I'm setting a pace of about two chapters per month. I was honestly expecting that I'd be much slower, so this is a pleasant surprise.

There's not too much to say here about the chapter other than it's a plot one. I feel like I'm doing something fairly new for RailDex, so it should be fun.

I'll mention that I'm studying for exams for the next month. After that, I'll have much more free time. That being said, don't get your hopes up, I tend to write in here at about 2am.

Once again, thanks for all the support and criticism, it's very helpful. I WILL get around to rewriting chapter 3 sometime before I finish this book, I'm honestly ashamed of that one.

I am also going to mention how the fanfic updates keep screwing up the formatting when uploading a chapter. Please, leave the format alone, .

Anyways, without further ado...

Outside

Mikoto stirred from her dreamless sleep. She was on what felt like metal, and vibrations could be felt throughout her entire body. She stayed stationary for a moment, trying to think about her situation.

She had just been kidnapped, she was in some kind of moving vehicle, probably on the floor, and her head hurt like hell. She felt like her mind was moving sluggishly, so she couldn't recklessly use her ability without putting herself in danger. So, she very slowly opened one of her eyes.

The first thing she noticed was the size of the room. Despite the fact that she was clearly moving, the room was very large. It had two doors in it, one directly in front of her and one to her left. If there were more, she couldn't see them without moving. There was also a bench next to the door on her left. The sheer size of the room, let alone the connecting rooms, meant that it couldn't be A ground vehicle: they were either in a boat or an airplane. Given that the whole room was metal, rather than composite walls, it was safe to assume the latter. She also noticed that there was nobody she could see in the room with her.

Taking a deep breath, she shot to her feet in a fighting stance, and took a check of the rest of the room. She was completely alone, and she couldn't see any cameras on first glance. She could also see a hangar door behind her, solidifying that she was on an aeroplane of some kind. Cautiously, she started towards the door on her left, when a familiar voice rang through the room. "You're up, Misaka-chan! Hold on, I'll be in there in a second."

A moment later, the door at the front of the shop opened, and the Level 5 immediately groaned. A gold chain. An unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt. Reflective sunglasses paired with a smirk. "Tsuchimikado. Why am I not surprised?" She took a deep breath. "Maybe, just maybe, next time you can simply ask. None of this kidnapping business. Seems like an extremely unnecessary step."

The double spy shrugged, grinning like an idiot. "Now now, where would be the fun in that? Touma doesn't mind it."

Electricity sparked from her bangs. "Maybe. However, unlike me, Touma can't bring down this entire ship with a snap of his fingers, so I suggest being a little more delicate with me."

The grin left his face. "The reality is that it's much easier to get you out of the city by kidnapping you. It's not quite so easy when you're conscious. And I can't just not take you when I'm taking your roommate."

She rolled her eyes. "Right, whatever. I've told you before, and I'll tell you again, the Board can't stop me from leaving. If I went up enough stages, I'd even be able to destroy the Windowless Building, and they know that."

Tsuchimikado turned around, heading back into the cockpit. "We'll be touching down in a little under an hour. There's a spare change of clothes in there for you so I suggest you get yourself cleaned up, you stink..." And with that, the door shut.

Mikoto pulled a face, and started towards the other door, before calling out. "If there's a camera in there, I will tear off your arm and beat you to death with it."

She heard his voice. "Don't worry, there aren't any, but threat taken."

Shaking her head, she opened the door. Touma was stood in front of her, in boxer shorts, staring right back at her. Blood rushed to her cheeks as she froze up, completely unsure of what to say. "I-I d-I didn't..."

Touma doubled over laughing, to which Mikoto pouted, still stumbling over her words. "Oh, I'm so glad this is the other way round for once." He slipped on in to a pair of jeans. "Come on in, I don't mind. I'm not Index, I don't bite."

She nodded, cheeks still red, and shuffled in, getting a look at him. His toned body clearly showed results from his workout that he did almost daily. His chiselled abs caught her eye moments before they were covered by his white shirt, and she felt her face become an even brighter shade of red. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't know you were in here. Tsuchimikado certainly didn't say anything."

"Of course that agent of chaos wouldn't say anything." He slowly shook his head. "I honestly believe he kidnaps me for his own enjoyment at this point." He put on his black jacket and sneakers, and pointed to the door on his right. "There's a shower in there, and a change of clothes for you too. I'll leave you to it." He headed for the door into the hangar. "Hopefully, I'll be able to get a little bit of information out of this psychopath before we land."

Mikoto sauntered into the washroom, looked at herself in the body-length mirror, and stifled a scream. She looked terrifying. She knew she looked bad, but not this bad. She had blood everywhere. On her neck, on her nose, in her hair... all over her clothes. Her legs were more red than they were pink. She immediately stripped, throwing her clothes on top of Touma's, and started washing herself thoroughly, her mind playing the events of the day. She stood there unmoving for a few minutes, before finally turning off the water, and a very quiet mutter could be heard from her. "I'm weak."

As she looked around the room outside, she found another pair of clothes on top of a metal chair in the corner. She recognised the underwear, goggles and pink scarf as hers, but there were clothes there she'd never seen before. She frowned, immediately focusing her full attention to the enigma in front of her. They were the right size. How did they know what size she was? And who handled her underwear? She would kill Tsuchimikado if she found out it was him. However, all her concerns vanished when she took a closer look, and she happily got dressed. Black trousers with cyan marks on them, a black t-shirt with 3 Gekota on the chest area similar to her heart shirt, and a black jacket with a cyan right sleeve, hood, and lightning bolt on the back. She looked over herself in the mirror once again, and a little smirk crept across her face. She had no idea where they had got the outfit from, but she didn't seem to mind too much.

She began to turn towards the door, but suddenly froze up. White scales were creeping onto her body. She looked at her hands; despite the fact that they were clean, they didn't look that way to her. Her mood was becoming more unstable, and she knew it, and her power reflected her mood. The more unstable she was, the more difficult it was to control. Taking a deep breath, she put on a smile, made a little twirl, and practically forced her power down. She couldn't afford to let it show in front of the sorcerers until she was in a situation where she wasn't thousands of feet in the air. She could guarantee her own safety, but she wouldn't be able to save more than one or maybe two people.

She violently shook her head, quickly making her way into the hangar room. Touma was stood by the cockpit, talking to a well-endowed girl with medium length brownish purplish hair. As soon as the door Mikoto entered through closed, Touma turned his head to her, and his eyes widened, before a smile slowly began to appear on his face. "That's a fitting look for you!"

Mikoto glanced to the side for a moment, blushing, before regaining her composure. "Yeah, about that. Who-"

The well-endowed girl in a tank top held out her hand to Mikoto. She'd somehow moved right up to her without her noticing. "Oh, that was me!"

Mikoto thought for a moment, before shaking her hand. "You're... Itsuwa, right? The, uh, the hot towel girl."

Itsuwa raised an eyebrow as Touma began to laugh. "Yes, that's me. You're Miss Misaka, right? It's been quite some time since I last saw you. I, um..." she started fidgeting. "I hope you like the outfit i picked out."

The Level 5 let out a huge sigh of relief. "I'm glad it was you, if it had been Tsuchimikado I would have brought down this entire airplane with everyone in it into the middle of the ocean just to kill him."

"Y-yeah, I found the outfit in a little store in District 15 that specialises in clothing for well-known people, and your style happened to be on the catalogue."

Mikoto glanced at herself one more time. "I mean, I wouldn't wear it unless it was really cold, but it fits me and it's comfy. Say, speaking of it being for cold, are we heading for Siberia again or something?"

Itsuwa beckoned her into the cockpit, where Tsuchimikado and Touma had just began talking. The mage sat down on the co-pilot's seat, and Mikoto sat on a metal chair next to the door.

Tsuchimikado nodded his head. "Okay, let's get this over with. Long story short, somebody or multiple somebodies broke into the vaults of both Buckingham Palace and Necessarius, and got out with some Ancient Greek artefacts. The Roman Catholic Church and the Russian Orthodox Church also reported stolen Greek artefacts at extremely similar times. We found traces of an original cloaking magic when they got in, which makes it very difficult to narrow down who did it. Index is at this very moment trying to identify which sect they come from, but it's going to take some time, if it's even possible. Now then, can either of you tell me something the Ancient Greeks were known for?"

Mikoto immediately answered, putting her advanced education to use. "They were known for being extremely advanced for their time, being a nation of mathematicians, scientists and philosophers. But as for something that you would be looking for... they had a whole load of gods. I would assume they had a lot of sorcerers too."

"That's right. However, unlike Shintoism, the Ancient Greeks also believed that there were demigods. Apparently, the Greek gods had an unreasonably high libido, and would often find humans to satisfy themselves. Zeus was apparently one of the worst for this, despite being married to Hera."

Touma shook his head. "Don't tell me that we're dealing with an actual demigod here."

"Even if we were, it wouldn't really matter. The bloodline of the gods would be running so thin at this point that it wouldn't make much difference. All it would really do is slightly increase their magic prowess in certain areas. No real super-strength, super-resilience or increased lifespan."

Mikoto chimed in. "So what exactly is the problem then?"

Tsuchimikado hesitated for a moment, clearly choosing his words carefully. "The artefacts they stole... were supposedly items of the gods. For example, the Bolt of Zeus. Apparently he used it to channel lightning, yet none of our sorcerers have managed to use it. We didn't have too much guarding these artefacts, because they only really had traces of magic within them, and nobody could use them. However, do you think a descendent of Zeus would have the same issue?"

Touma put his head in his hands. "Why didn't you lock them up under maximum security if they're artefacts of there gods?"

"We didn't think anybody would take them, since nobody could use them. In hindsight, we should've thought of demigods."

Mikoto shook her head. "You guys are supposed to be the smartest when it comes to magic, but even I know to lock up god-related magical artefacts."

He shrugged. "They were, but someone on the research team said fairly recently that they should be moved to one of the outer wings of the vault, since they're unusable. Now both the artefacts and the researcher are missing. That's what happens when you adopt so many sorcerers I guess."

She sighed. "So you let a rat in. How many did you allow them to get away with? Four? Five? Maybe even six?

Tsuchimikado turned away from them. "...They took over 20 from our-"

Mikoto burst out of her chair. "What?! How could you let that happen?!" Touma waved at her to sit back down, and she complied. "Don't tell me you expect us to go and collect them all."

Itsuwa spoke up. "Of course not. We need all hands on deck right now, and you two would really help us out As it stands, we have no idea how powerful each of these artefacts are, so we're calling in the best of the best. Just reclaiming one would help us out loads."

Touma picked the knife out of his arm guard, and started playing with it. "Do you have any trackers on them?"

"We had few on each," Tsuchimikado confessed, "but they managed to unravel almost all of the magical trackers very quickly, and they used a mini EMP on them to disable all our technological trackers too. The problem is that we have no idea who these people are. Nobody has heard any whispers of a Hellenic organisation, let alone any meetings between demigods. There are barely any leads at all."

"I'm assuming where we're going is one of the few leads then."

"That's right, Kami-yan. We have most of the agency just looking for rumours, so we need everyone we can get to help when it comes to fighting."

"So then, where are we going? You've kept me in the dark this whole time, but it's gotta be somewhere cold, right?"

"Mexico City." The Level 5 threw her scarf onto the floor with a dissatisfied look on her face. "Woah, hold on. There's a freak snowstorm over there right now, and it's freezing. It may even be the work of Khione's artefact."

Mikoto took a deep breath. "May? I hope you didn't abduct us on a hunch."

The sorcerer took out a tablet, and pointed to a red blip on it. "See that? The EMP didn't fry all the trackers. That's what we're following. It's entirely likely that it's Khione's, but it may well be another one too. Unfortunately, we're in the blind here. You two should be able to handle pretty much anything though, with your unstoppable attack and Touma's impenetrable defence."

"So, what exactly do you want us to do? I know you want us to recapture the artefact, but what about its wielder?"

"Capture the artefact, and the demigod in possession of it. If you can't capture the wielder though, I'd rather you let them go than kill them."

"Neither of us kill, Tsuchimikado," Touma sighed.

"Oh, of course. I forgot that I'm not talking to Accelerator for a moment." He walked out into the hangar, and the duo followed him. "We're pretty much there. You'll meet up with the nearest sorcerer when you land." He handed Touma a parachute and walked back into the cockpit, closing the door behind him.

Mikoto looked around. "What about me? How am I supposed to land?"

Tsuchimikado chuckled. "You'll be fine! You don't even remotely need one, you can slow your own fall. Now then..." The hangar door slowly opened. They were moving about half of Mach 1, so the air pressure change didn't throw them out of the jet.

Touma approached the edge, and she followed after him. She could see dark clouds beneath her hovering around Mexico City, but not really expanding out anywhere other than the city. The Level 0 shrugged. "You ready, Firefly?"

She smirked, inching closer to the edge. "Always will be, Dragon."

And with a smile and a nod, they jumped into the rolling clouds.
