Chapter 24

The Buddy System

Venture Compound

After the whole Hatred introduction, along with the party and Naruto hooking up with Vain Gloria for the night, at this moment, Naruto was dressed up as a viking, minus the usual beard and helmet, that people usually use for the stereotypical type of vikings that people are used to.

But Naruto on the other hand, was anything but "typical" since right now he was wearing a set of armor that Brok and Sindri had made for him that actually worked well with his muscular physique, considering he wasn't as large as his father, but his muscles still filled the armor nicely. (A.N. Not gonna describe so look up, World Serpent Set.)

Though at first Rusty had questioned the authenticity of the armor, only for Naruto to state that the guys he knew that made the armor were, "viking enthusiasts," so they knew what they were doing, so Rusty let it off, though both father and son had knowing smirks towards each other about the "enthusiasts" part of what Naruto had said, so right now, Naruto had his own booth at the compound, due to Rusty opening a "day camp" for some children, though really, it's mostly Rusty trying to "earn" a few dollars and everything.

Where at one point, the Monarch had sent Sheila's Moppets to the camp to try and figure out what was happening, which both Brock and Naruto knew straight away who they were, which is more than you can say for Rusty, who had his "fame" in his head and how popular he was during his younger years, so he "missed" the duo and let them in.

After that, Naruto went back to his both, where a few children questioned him about it, since it depicted the Norse Mythology, which confused the children slightly since they're use to the Marvel version, but Naruto quickly pointed out and explained how that version of Thor was actually inspired from the Norse Myth, only the Marvel creators had made Thor more "child-friendly" instead of the actual Thor from myth, though the children became curious about what he meant by that, Naruto quickly pointed out that they'll find out during Highschool, where they can look up what the Norse Thor had done during his time.

"(ahem!) Anyway, let me show you kids something, alright!" Naruto quickly changed the subject, moving away from his both a little, along with grabbing his axe, "This axe is called The Leviathan Axe, it's power base is a powerful blizzard found in Helheim, which is the Norse Version of Hell, this weapon was based on Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir, but as you can guess instead of lightning, this axe's power is over ice, freezing it's enemies and shattering them to pieces." The children were in awe of the weapon.

Naruto smiled at their looks, "But it has another two things based on Thor's Hammer, watch this." "(GRUNT!)" With that said, Naruto throws the axe with all his strength, sending it flying a great distance, "Now, wait for it." He then holds his hand out, where the children soon saw something seeming to be heading for them.

Making them quickly jump away, only it turned out to be Naruto's axe, having returned to his hand with such ease, which caused the children to scream in excitement, jumping up and down at having witnessed a weapon return to their owner just like Thor's hammer.

Seeing the children's excitement, Naruto simply smiles at them, "Alright! Alright now! Everyone calm down, there's still one more thing that you lot need to see as well."

Naruto then stabs the axe into the ground, "Have a go at trying to lift my axe, but fair warning, DO NOT touch the blade, otherwise your fingers will freeze over and snap off!" Naruto states in a serious tone, making the children be weary towards the blade of the axe, so each one decided to keep their hands well away from the blade as they try to lift it, try being the operative word.

Each child gave it their best, but none of them could move it, with Naruto stopping them and taking his axe back, simply explaining that only he could use it, along with the two dwarven blacksmith brothers who made the weapon could move it, though the children wondered why Naruto was "worthy" of using the axe, he just shrugs his shoulders and states,"I'm not sure, after finding it stabbed in an alter, due to certain things that I can't tell you, I was able to use it with ease afterwards." Naruto explained, having left out the part of the two brothers needing his help, otherwise the children would more than likely try to hunt the brothers down to get them to build them weapons, which he wasn't gonna let them, so the brothers were kept a secret.

Though as this was happening, Dean and Hank came across another teenage boy, whom happened to be their age, but was bigger and stronger looking than them, which freaked Dean out, causing him to run and hide, since the reason he didn't have a problem with Naruto is because Dean knew that Naruto was in his 20s, so the boy knew that Naruto was more of a "big brother" type of person.

As for Hank, he didn't really care either way, just saw the other teen as a potential friend and thought he looked cool.

Anyway, it wasn't long before the adult, Johnny Quest, starts wigging out, even screaming into his mic about his daddy issues and other such issues, along with his PTSD, with Brock and Rusty talking about how they got Johnny into helping them out, which turns out to be a lot of alcoholic drinks.

Where as they were chatting, Hank ran up to them, wanting to know if he could show his new friend his room, while realising that he never had a new friend at all, but Rusty didn't really care, while telling Hank off for making out that he was a father, since he didn't want to blow the minds of the little children, which also made Hank depressed.

Though seeing this, Brock quickly jumped in, asking Hank to help him out with his Judo Class, which Hank was more than happy to help out, while being a little upset about Rusty's approach towards his children, though Rusty had simply stated, "Wait until you have kids that aren't as responsible as Naruto." Which considering Brock's history, man the agent gulp at the thought.

It wasn't long before Brock started his demonstration, only to have Hank's new friend question and challenge Brock, which didn't sit well with the man, since the teen seemed to be pressing all of Brock's buttons, which catches Naruto's attention cos usually his dad was much calmer than that.

"Okay, I think that's enough Judo lessons for now, how about you kids go visit the stalls while me and my dad have a quick word!" Naruto tells the children there, while Hank and his friend walk off, "Dad come on, you gotta calm down, look, if you need an outlet while I'm busy, I had Brok and Sindri build you a special punching bag that you can workout on in the hanger, just to let off some steam, since the bag won't wear out or rip apart with your strength." Naruto quickly offered, since he can't always be there for his dad when he gets the railed up.

Taking a deep breath, Brock agrees with such a thing, "Also, let me deal with the little punk, okay, I've got my ways of dealing with stuck up little pricks that think they know everything." Naruto states, catching his dad's interest, "No! No! I'm not gonna hit him, but I am gonna humiliate him, which should be just as bad as any punch, after all, a bruised ego and pride can be just as painful as any physical pain, trust me." Naruto quickly finishes, since he didn't want his dad getting the wrong idea, but he did finishes with an evil smirk that would've made his mother proud.

Hearing this and seeing the smirk, Brock decided to let his son deal with the brat, while wanting to cool down with the new punching bag that Naruto had got for him, though Rusty was confused, wondering why Brock was leaving, but Naruto had explained the situation to the man, where he decides to let Naruto take over for now until Brock got his head straight.

Naruto was soon back to his booth, demonstrating his axe once more, only for the familiar brat to start mouthing off again, "Well if you're that confidant, then here, feel free to try and lift my axe, since I'm sure a "strong" and "tough" guy like you can move it(!)" Naruto issued his challenge, though the punk tried to deny it, saying how he was too good for the dumb weapon in his own words, with Naruto simply stating that it wouldn't be a problem for him to lift it then, unfortunately all the children there heard this and started egging the punk on, pretty much wanting to see the teen put his money where his mouth is.

Though it wasn't long before the teen started huffing and puffing having tried to lift it, but the axe was truly planted and not moving an inch from where Naruto had stabbed it, making the teen complain that the axe must've hit a trunk or something under the ground, "That's an interesting thought, but I have another," Naruto states condescendingly, where he then casually grabs the axe and lifts it up easily, flipping it up and catching it with ease, "You're not worthy." He simply finishes.

But the teen then states that Naruto only managed to lift it because the teen loosened it, "Alright, if that's how you feel, then here." Naruto answers back by holding the handle towards the teen, while keeping a hold of it near it's blade, but not touching it, "I'll keep a hold of it until you've got a firm grip on it, then when you're ready, I'll let go of it, but not until you actually state OUTLOUD, that you are ready." Naruto finishes.

With that everyone watches as the teen did just that, along with telling Naruto, for all to hear, that he was ready, only for the obvious outcome to happen, "(THUMB!)" The axe went down, hitting the floor and dragging the teen with it, though luckily the blade went down first, allowing it to stick into the ground, otherwise the teens hands would've been pinned down by the handle, and more than likely broken in more than several places.

Though to teen then starts dismissing the whole thing, stating how he'll be a agent for the military and have his hands classed secret weapons, where, hearing this, Naruto's face blanked out, before it starts cracking and he then starts bellowing with laughter at such a dumb thing to say, while walking away from the now embarrassed and humiliated teen, since the children had joined Naruto in laughing at him, which as everyone knows had caused the teen even more embarrassment.

Where Hank walked up to Naruto, questioning why he did all of that to his new friend, "Hank, I did that to him because he was telling lies about all those "moves" he knows, which in reality, he doesn't, if anything, he's pretending to be tough just so others don't try to hurt him, hell, with the way he carries himself, from just one glance, I can tell that even Dean can take him down, when your brother is pushed enough to break from the stress he's no doubt feeling from having that idiot here." Naruto explains for Hank to understand that the teen was just blowing hot air and how it'll bite the teen in the ass at some point.

Naruto soon ushered Hank onto the tram with the other children, with the punk following along, having become somewhat humbled by his humiliation, where Rusty then introduced "the Buddy System" to the children, though it seemed that not even Naruto's "lesson" had stopped the teen from mouthing off to Rusty about the whole thing, along with Hank trying to join in, but that only caused him to get punished by his father, "Word of advice Hank, don't go mouthing off at your father like that, cos a child's own parents are the one person that are capable of punishing their children when they're being bad, right kids!" Naruto gave the boy his advice, while letting the children get involved as well.

With the children agreeing with Naruto, which made Rusty smile since Naruto seemed to be the only one that can help him keep the children in line, though it wasn't long before Rusty showed the children the bio-dome, that his father was working on, but it was obvious that the place hadn't been opened for a really long time.

But while Rusty and Billy were trying to get into the building, Naruto could tell straight away that there was gonna be trouble, so lifting his hand, he called his axe to him, having forgotten about it due to his laughing fit before, "Kids, stand behind me, since it is a biodome by a super scientist, who knows what might be inside the place after 40 years of being undisturbed for so long." Naruto tells them with a serious look on his face, making the children do as he'd requested them to do.

Only when they entered the biodome, they found a skeletal monument, making them slowly back away from the place,that is until a gorilla jumps out and starts roaring at them, "Kids, whatever you do, DO NOT RUN! Since the gorilla will only chase you down, so slowly and quietly walk backwards to the exit, be mindful where you step because any sudden noise could provoke the animal into attack, also DON'T look the gorilla in the eyes, because that will make it think that you're challenging it for dominance, so keep your eyes to your feet and back away to the exit, that way you can watch where you're feet will go." Naruto tells everyone, while keeping the gorilla in his line of sight, having it's attention on him instead of the others.

With Rusty deciding that Naruto's orders would be better than his own, so instead of questioning Naruto he did what he said, along with Billy as well, though just as the punk was gonna shoot a pelt at Billy, Naruto's eyes landed on the teen, with Naruto giving him a death-glare to end all death-glares, which caused the teen to hesitate and not fire his pelt gun, while putting it away in cold fear.

Where Naruto had practically told him and Hank to get to the exit with the others, with his stare, once everyone besides Naruto were outside, Naruto himself slowly started backing away, putting his axe away as well, with the gorilla slowly following him, making sure that the "intruder" would leave it's home, where as soon as Naruto had crossed the threshold, both Billy and Rusty had quickly closed and locked the door, causing everyone to quickly calm down in exhaustion, "Okay sound off, anyone missing their buddy." Naruto ordered, not wanting to go back into the biodome to retrieve any mission children, but would do so in order to get them out.

With each children stating that they were all out and safe, with not a single one of them missing, which was a relief for both Naruto and Rusty, but for obviously different reasons.

Though while that was happening, it turns out Brock hadn't cooled down from the punk's words, where he ended up getting the wrong idea in his head about teaching the teen a lesson, where at first he thought Dean could help him, but that was a bust, followed by requesting some help from the "disguised" moppets, but that just made Brock regret even asking them, since the two seemed really fixated in dealing with everything by using a knife in some way, which even creeped Brock out to the point that he realised what he was planning might've been a stupid idea, while thinking that Naruto's option may have been the better idea than what he was thinking, having cool down during his whole "toughen up" Dean thing, as well as having the creepy twins creep him out.

In the end he grabbed the camera on the hat, pretty much telling the Monarch that he already knew who the moppets were, wanting them to leave either by themselves or by "his way" of making them leave, along with telling Monarch that Rusty misses the guy, to the point of crying himself to sleep at night.

Anyway, right now everyone was getting ready to put on a show for the children, though thankfully, Naruto was sitting in the audience due to his "skills" at getting everyone away from the gorilla and no one was left behind, so as a reward, Rusty allowed him to bow-out of the show, with Dean sitting next to him, "Boo-! WHOA!" "ARGH!" Only for Triana to come up behind Naruto, trying to make him jump, but due to his training, Naruto had managed to grab Triana and brought her into his lap with ease, but also unknowingly scaring Dean with her slight "jumpscare" towards Naruto.

Though when Dean tried to explain about the punk that was mouthing off about everything and everyone, he pretty much appeared like Candyman, with Hank following him, but when he tried to mouth off once more, Naruto quickly grabbed his axe, which he had placed between himself and Dean, "(Thud!)" And had slammed it into the ground next to the punk and himself, "I'm sorry, were you saying something(?)" Naruto then asked in a sarcastic way, which made Triana smile into Naruto's shoulder at the sight of the idiot trying to look tough.

With said idiot grumbling a "Nothing." In reply and simply sat down, with Triana quietly giggling at the sight, thankfully no one could hear her but Naruto, so everyone got comfortable, though Triana did wiggle in Naruto's lap, "Triana, stop that, there's little kids everywhere." Naruto quietly whispered into her ear, where she reluctantly agreed to, since the thought of little children seeing them had put her off of doing anything to Naruto while being on his lap.

Only for Dr. Z to appear on the stage, which unfortunately caused Johnny to have a mental breakdown from his old nemesis visiting, where Brock had no choice but to carry the poor guy away, where Dr. Z then questions Rusty about it, while making a "show" of it for the children that were there, while asking if he could shoot at Johnny or drop scorpions on him, but due to Johnny's fragile state, Rusty denied such a thing.

But as this was happening, the teen punk had to run his mouth off about Naruto's dad, "Easy there White Precious, it takes an awful lot to set my buttons off, and if you continue to bad mouth my dad and my girlfriend, you'll come to understand that during my time training with my mother, I hold the title, The Devil Prince Of Pranks, for a reason." Naruto quickly states, his eyes hardening towards the punk, cos don't get Naruto wrong, he's a very mellow person, but if you start bad mouthing his friends and family, well, you best pray to whatever god you worship for mercy, cos Naruto won't have any after he's through with you.

Where Dr. Z, after hearing that familiar title, became terrified, "My god, Doctor Venture, I had no idea you would have such a villainous menace in your compound, everyone in the villain community heard about The Devil Prince of Pranks, he had practically made waves all over the world, in both hero and villain community!" Hearing this, Rusty was surprised to hear how infamous Naruto was, but then again, who knew what he got up to during his training trip with his mother.

Though as it turned out, Dean had finally snapped at the teen's rudeness and started beating on the punk, though as Dean was beating on the punk, Brock was well pleased at the sight, Naruto then rolled his eyes at the sight, "Alright Dean, that's enough." Naruto then states, easily picking Dean up by the back of his outfit, where he sees all the snot and tears, "Look, how about you go clean yourself up alright, maybe try and wash your head in some cold water to cool down." With Dean hiccuping at his emotions getting the best of him, where he agreed with Naruto and went to do just that, "Hon, could you go and help the boy, I think he needs someone to talk to about this episode of his." Naruto asked Triana, which she agrees to, since she's never seen Dean react in such a way.

Unfortunately that was when Sergeant Hatred had made his appearance, where Brock then starts his usual rampage, but Rusty quickly calls it off, but when the children tried helping by kicking Hatred, Rusty had also called them off too, seeing as Hatred had a court order to stay away from children, though it turns out that Hatred had the time mixed up, thinking that his arching was at 5:30pm, but due to a fancy-looking 'a', it turned he was suppose to have arched the Venture Compound at 5:30AM.

After getting that mess cleaned up, along with meeting Dr. Z, everything was now running smoothly, though Dr. Z did warn Hatred about Naruto and his title, stating not to bad mouth anyone that the young man cares about, but that just made the man even more excited, though obviously Hatred would stoop to such a level, such as insulting Naruto in such a way, but he was still excited that he started having his men take pictures of the fun activities that were going on.

Where in one photo, Hank had placed a sleeping Billy's hand in some warm water, since after the gorilla experience, Billy ended up with mental exhaustion from such an experience, though in one of the photos was a picture of Naruto and Triana kissing, with their eyes widening at getting their picture taken during an intimate moment, though the next picture of them had cracks in it, with Triana hugging a huffed Naruto with a smile on her face, showing that Naruto had punched the lense and broke the camera after their moment.

As for the punk, in another photo, him and Brock had made up, becoming good friends now, since it turned out that having someone like Dean beat you up was a good way of getting some humility into a person.

It wasn't long before night came around, with the parents arriving to pick up their children, with a few of them thanking both Naruto and Brock for their lessons, along with some rubber imitations for Naruto's Leviathan Axe in the children's hands, "Well dad, it wasn't a "bad" day, I mean, we may have had a few hiccups here and there, but in the end, it was still a nice day." Naruto states, standing next to Brock.

Brock pats Naruto on the shoulder, "(laughs!) Yeah, it's certainly been an interesting day Naruto, I'll give you that, now come on, time to clean up, or at least put some things away and cover them up in case of rain, that way we can clean them up tomorrow." With that both went about their mission of doing as such, where after woulds Naruto had went to visit the blacksmith brothers, telling them about the success of the event, though it was pretty obvious why both didn't visit to see how things went, but Naruto had basically gave them a quick rundown, with Brok laughing at Dean's exploding anger.

After that, Naruto had got a text from Triana, telling him that apparently she had a surprise for him in her room, where he goes to the girl's room, but when he enters after she calls him in, he was shocked at what he saw, since it turned out Triana had got in touch with the twins, where Nancy and Drew had somehow managed to get to the Venture Compound under, along with getting to Triana's room without anyone noticing, but not only that, the three girls were now wearing sexy viking outfits for him, but as he was taking in the sight at the entrance to Triana's room, one of the girl's hand had reached out and grabbed the leather strap that covered Naruto's chest, where the girls then locked the door and all you could hear was giggling on the other side.

With Triana being thankful towards the Huldra Brothers for making her room soundproof for her, and magic proof so her dad can't get into her room while she was in said room, though the brothers had left the girl's closet alone, where she first thought that they were being considerate, since it was a girl's closet and everything, but that was only a partial reason, the other reason was because of the magic behind the door that the Huldra Brothers could sense, so they left it well enough alone.

Anyway, right now Naruto was having fun with his girls, though while that was happening, it turned out that Sheila had made her Moppets "fail" in their mission, just to try and get her husband, The Monarch, off of the whole Venture hatred thing, though it did get a little weird when the crazy little creeps began rubbing the women inappropriately.

There you go, hope everyone enjoyed this chapter, since I figured that with Naruto around, there wouldn't be any children being "disemboweled" like in the canon episode, with Naruto also trying to keep Hank's new friend in line, but obviously he'll have some "relapse" now and again.

I also figured that Dr. Z would've heard of Naruto's "antics" during his travel with his mother, before meeting his dad the first time, since it's Naruto, he's bound to have caused some trouble during his training. lol
