Clark had awoken to the sound of his alarm going off.

Clark was now in his early twenties and had grown significantly, he sported a muscular build and was decently tall, he still often wore his glasses and had the same curly black hair and the same blue eyes he has always had.

In the bunk above him, his roommate and best friend, Jimmy Olsen stirred in his sleep as he muttered something Clark couldn't quite make out, likely due to the alarm going off.

Jimmy Olsen was a dark skinned man around the same age as Clark, unlike Clark he was however he was a little shorter and scrawnier than Clark, along with that he sported dark brown hair and brown eyes

He would get Jimmy up in a moment, he wouldn't let his friend oversleep and miss their first day of work after all.

"Today's the day." Clark said to himself as he got up and got ready, he was admittedly a little nervous, today would be he and Jimmy's first day being interns for the daily planet.

After Clark finished brushing his teeth and putting his clothes on he stepped out the bathroom to find Jimmy already awake and yawning as he walked to get ready himself.

"Morning Jimmy." Clark greeted

"Hey clark! Oh man I can't believe today is finally the day, I'm so excited man!" Jimmy happily exclaimed

"Yeah me too." Clark replied as he put his shoes on.

"Are you going to get donuts again?" Jimmy asked.

"Yep, I won't take long though, I'll meet on the way after I get them."

"Alright Clark, see you in a bit." Jimmy said as he went to get ready himself.

Clark then left the apartment and went out for his morning jog in downtown Chicago. Along the way, he spotted a missing cat poster on a tree, and on one of the tree branches was the seemingly missing cat.

Clark looked around before moving in a blur of speed and grabbing the cat, it did not take him long to find the cat's owner who turned out to be a little girl as she put up her fliers. He quickly reunited her with her cat, the fliers in her hand sent flying by the wind from how fast he moved.

Clark quickly returned to the exact spot he was before returning to jogging, despite helping that girl, Clark was actually quite nervous, not just about his first day of work, but his powers as well, ever since he unlocked this powers, he begun to be more careful with his powers, if he weren't careful he could hurt someone or worse.

However, he also felt a need to help people with his powers whenever he could. Clark often found himself using his gifts for small acts of kindness such as giving that little girl her cat back, despite years of learning how to blend in and not appear as anything other than a regular human, the need to help was still there.

But at the same time, did he really need to? There were others who helped after all, others like the guardians, Omniman, and many other heroes not just in Chicago but the entire world. Did the world really need him? Did the world really need Clark Kent to come and save the day?

It hadn't even been a week since the Guardians and Omniman stopped two villains who launched an attack on the White House while simultaneously saving every civilian present and preventing any fatalities.

It's what made not just the Guardians but Omniman, one of his favorite heroes. He had always been a fan of Omniman since he was a child and when he had first unlocked his powers he thought he could be like Omniman, but then the reality of his situation had set in after that fateful day.

These thoughts were cut short however as Clark found himself at his intended destination, a small bakery he had discovered not long ago and had always visited every time he wanted to buy donuts or any other type of sweets.

It was run by Mr and Ms Ramirez, a nice old couple who had run the bakery in the city for over thirty years. Clark found them pleasant to be around and always got his sweats from this bakery.

Clark went to open the door, as he opened it he noticed someone else looking to enter from the corner of his eye.

He held the door open as he looked at the person. "Hi there, after you.." his voice trails off as he looks at the woman who was entering the store.

Standing before him was a tan skinned young woman around his age, she had golden-brown eyes and short black hair done in a pixie cut and was wearing a cropped white and yellow ringer tee with a baggy green coat over it along with dark blue jeans.

"Thanks." She said as she chucked before lightly tapping Clark on the chest. "See you in there big guy." She said before walking inside.

Clark blushed at this as he watched her walk inside, she was very beautiful to him, despite being nervous, he had a gut feeling that he should try and talk to her, after all, what's the worst that could happen?

He walked up to the girl who was currently looking at the various sweets on display before clearing his throat

"Hey " Clark said in a slightly deeper voice while leaning on the table before he stopped himself and tried again "Uh hi, my name is-" He was about to introduced before it ended up being done for him.

"Clark!" an old lady, Ms Ramirez said in joy as she gave him a hug. "I can't thank you enough for the repairs you did on the back door, oh, I also have the three dozen donuts you asked for. The boy has such a big appetite, one of the best customers we have." The old lady said with a smile.

"Well it's my first day of work, the donuts aren't all for me." Clark tried to explain before the old lady unintentionally spoke over him.

"And everytime he eats he gets the sprinkles all over him and makes a mess, it got so bad we had to make him a bib." The old lady explained before chuckling, causing Lois to laugh and wipe a couple tears from her eyes as Clark picks up the boxes of donuts

"Well uhh, that happened I guess." Clark said nervously as he looked at the woman who's laughing had finally stopped.

"Uh huh." she said, still grinning about the whole situation.

"Im uh, just gonna leave before this gets any worse, goodbye forever!" he quickly said before quickly making his exit out the factory as the old lady waved goodbye to him.

In the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois it was a relatively normal day at Reginald VelJohnson High School.

As students moved about through the hallways socializing with friends and making their way to their lockers and classes.

Among these crowds of students were two boys

One of them was a taller boy with black combed back hair and brown eyes, he wore a simple long sleeve shirt and casual beige pants.

Next to them was a shorter boy who had brown hair and wore a red shirt.

These two boys were Mark Grayson and William Clockwell, and the two were currently making their way down the hall.

As the two walked, William quickly noticed that Mark seemed to be in a bad mood, judging by the expression on his face.

"Geez man, you still mad about that whole Todd thing?" William asked, a bit concerned.

"No it's not that I just.. I have a lot on my mind." Mark replied as the two continued walking.

"Ok because you haven't really looked fine." William remarked.

"Nothing to worry about man, like I said I got a lot on my mind." Mark said.

It was true, Mark did have a lot on his mind. It was only a few days since he had gotten his powers and training to hone them with his father had gone poorly to say the least.

And just when Mark thought this day couldn;t get anywhere else, a voice that was arguably one of the last voices he wanted to hear called out to him.

"Well, if it isn't Mark Grayson." a boy said from behind Mark as he stood in the hallway with his arms crossed.

"Ugh." Mark groaned as he turned around, he was really not in the mood for this bullshit today.

"And I don't see Amber anywhere nearby to protect your sorry ass." The boy said as he approached Mark and cracked his knuckles.

"Todd please, today is not the d-" Mark said before he was cut off as the boy now identified as Todd grabbed Mark by the shirt and pushed him against the lockers, this caused William along with other students in the hallway to focus their attention on the commotion between the two.

"Not the day? Not the day for what? Not kicking your ass again?" Todd asked with a Smirk "or what? You think you're man enough to threaten me now? Or do you need a replay of the last ass kicking I gave you?"

"Hit me." Mark said with an expression close to a scowl on his face.

Todd's facial expression changed ever so slightly to that of slight confusion as he registered what Mark had just told him to do.

"Go on, hit me as hard as you can."

Todd then grit his teeth, believing Mark was trying to insult him, before obliging his request and delivering a blow to Mark's stomach, which caused him to keel over somewhat and widened his eyes before he looked at Todd and stood up straight. "Again." he demanded.

"Once again, Todd struck Mark, this time across the face, and while his head moved from the punch Mark himself did not appear to be hurt by it, if anything Todd could swear it almost hurt him a bit.

"Again, harder." Mark once again demanded as he glared at Todd.

Todd once again threw a punch, this one directed at Mark's chest, however, unlike the previous punches, this one didn't seem to have any effect whatsoever as Mark did not move or so much as flinch from the attack.

Whispers could be heard amongst the crowd as everyone watched what could be considered a very one sided fight, some students held their cellphones and recorded the event while others just watched.

The expressions of people in the crowd varied, some people were shocked and surprised by the way mark tanked all those hits, others looked weirded out by Mark and some were amused and entertained by the whole ordeal.

"What is wrong with him man?" one of the students said.

"He finally grew some fucking balls and stood up to that jack ass." Another said.

"Could've used him on the football team last night that game was fucking atrocious."

"Thats fucking weird, nobody can just take hits like that and not so much as budge."

"Relax, he probably just hit the gym and bulked up a bit."

"Maybe he has powers or something, you know like The Immortal or Omniman, there's this guy I've been watching on youtube called flamebird and he talks about shit like this all the time."

"You actually watch that fucking slop? That guy is a total nutcase, just because he took a punch from someone doesn't make him superhuman."

"Is this guy gonna hit back or what?"

"Nah there is something weird with that dude man."

William just looked on with concern for his best friend, not saying a word.

Mark simply glared down at Todd who held his hand which was throbbing with pain before looking around at the crowd and then back at mark.

"Freak!" Todd shouted before running off.

"Dude what is up with today?" William asked.

"I need something to punch." Mark nearly growled out with a scowl on his face.

"Well you missed your chance because he just walked away." William replied as the crowd began to disperse and speak among themselves about what just happened.

Clark was rushing through a park with his best friend Jimmy Olsen with his donuts still in hand, if the two of them didn't hurry they could potentially be late for their first day of work and that was the last thing Clark wanted to happen.

"Oh crap Jimmy we can't be late on our first day!" Clark said as he ran alongside Jimmy through the park.

"We would have made it on time if someone didn't decide to run across town to get donuts." Jimmy retorted

"I'm sorry Jimmy." Clark apologized with a frown. "I really didn't mean to-"

"No need to apologize Clark, I'm just messing with you." Jimmy said while chuckling slightly.

"O-oh." Clark said before quickly changing the subject. "Sooo it's our first day at the Daily Planet, you nervous?" Clark asked.

"Nervous? Are you kidding? Man, I'm excited! You know how long we've waited for this? It'll be Kent and Olsen, uncovering truths! Like the fact that aliens walk among us." Jimmy said

Clark gave a nervous chuckle. "Well we already know they exist, just look at Martian man and Omniman." Clark commented.

"Yeah but think about what else could be here that they aren't telling us about! It's obvious the G.D.A. is hiding a lot of secrets from us." Jimmy said before he began to pick up his pace.

"Aliens, Lockness, Dragons, that one psychic starfish in Germany, secret ninja societies, it's all real Clark i'm telling you." Jimmy said as he began to book it out the park and across the street

"Oh boy." Clark sighed as he began to catch up with Jimmy before he saw something which made his eyes widen.

Barreling down the street at a high rate of speed was a large blue garbage truck, and at the speed it was going it would hit Jimmy in a matter of seconds while he was none the wiser, taking pictures while ranting about his conspiracy theories.

Knowing what he had to do, Clark moved in a blur and managed to get Jimmy out of harm's way without him or anyone else noticing what he had done.

Clark turned back and glared at the garbage truck, he could make out the figure of a tan skinned woman who was driving the truck.

What was her problem? She could have killed Jimmy driving that fast and didn't even so much as make an attempt to stop, he could only hope a police officer or someone else would put a stop to her before she hurt someone or worse.

The two had made their way inside the Daily Planet building, which was the second largest building in Downtown Chicago second only to the Willis Tower which was only a few blocks away

The building itself had a large golden globe structure which had a ring over it that said daily planet on the ring.

The golden globe made the headquarters of the Daily Planet one of the most infamous landmarks in the city of Chicago.

Upon entering the building the two were directed to the office of their new boss and editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet Perry White.

As the two made their way to the office, they could see all sorts of workers running about, talking about different stories to make articles about or run on air.

They discussed recent events such as the Guardians of The Globe stopping an attack on the white house a few days ago and talked about other current events such as the Wayne enterprises and Powers Technology merger that was about to happen and how it would change the game in the tech industry and the effect on the stock market.

After a quick walk the two finally made their way inside of Perry White's office

Perry was an older African American man who appeared to be in his forties or fifties.

The two introduced themselves to Perry as Perry welcomed them on their first day of work.

Clark offered Perry a donut which he happily accepted before instructing the two to sit down while he called in one of the more experienced interns to come and show the two of them alone.

It did not take long for said intern to burst into the room with confidence and excitement.

"Experimental high tech weapons are being smuggled throughout downtown Chicago and I've got the scoop!" the woman declared.

Clark took a good look at the women and his eyes widened in surprise, it was the woman he had met earlier at the bakery, albeit with a different outfit that was more suitable for work.

Perry took a deep sigh, clearly having dealt with this sort of behavior from the woman before. "Lane." He grumbled.

Despite Perry's visible irritation the woman continued, pulling out her phone and pulling up a video that appeared to be a security feed. "Last night there was a shoutout in the industrial district between two gangs. One of the gangs had gone there to try and steal the weapons but it didn't quite work out in their favor.

The video shows what the woman had described, multiple people in black were seen guarding a storage facility, all the men in black wielded sub machine guns, the camera did not show what precisely they were guarding but whatever it was it had to be something important to be guarded the way it was.

Suddenly a dozen blue cars show up and men who appeared to be of asian descent step out the cars, armed with various guns as they begin opening fire, this causes the men in black to return fire as some of the men on both sides drop dead.

As the men in blue began to advance forward they all looked up at something, many of them had faces of shock and utter horror as they looked up and began shooting upward.

As soon as they begin shooting a giant red beam shoots down at them, vaporizing over half of the men in an instant, the other half immediately begin running back to their cars or just running away in general, several of the cars were destroyed by more lasers as more gang members in black come into the frame and we're shooting in the direction the thugs in blue ran before the footage cuts off.

"These dangerous warmachines, whatever they are, are loose in our city streets, we need to warn people about this! So, want me to bust the story wide open?"

Perry sighs and grabs the bridge of his nose. "No. lois you are an intern, the only reason I called you in here was to meet them." Perry said before pointing toward Clark and Jimmy.

Lois turned her head to look at the two before recognizing Clark as the guy she had run into in the bakery earlier.

"It's you." Lois said as she looked at Clark who blushed slightly and waved at her.

"These are the new interns, I need you to-"

"Oh! They could help me with the story!" Lois declared excitedly.

"Have you considered that these weapons may actually be aliens! Or alien technology!" Jimmy asked dramatically

"Uh I doubt it." Lois replied.

"If the weapons are as large as they appeared to be in the video there's only so many places they could be stored." Clark commented.

"Lucky for you two I already have a lead." Lois said with a grin.

"So we follow up." Clark said.

"Find the lead." Lois added.

"Find the robots." Clark said as the words of him and Lois played off each other.

"Get the story!" Lois finished.

"So what are we waiting around here for again?" Jimmy asked before they all looked at Perry who stared at them with an unamused expression before he sighed and stood up.

"New interns, out, old interns, stay." Perry said sternly, causing Clark and Jimmy to quietly exit the room.

"Oh man you don't think we're in trouble or anything do you?" Clark asked Jimmy nervously.

"I don't think he's that mad, I'm sure we'll be fine." Jimmy reassured.

"Because if he is mad then maybe I could apologize and-" Clark started to say but was cut off as the door opened and Lois walked out with a smirk on her face.

"Is everything ok? I can apologize to Mr White if you'd like." Clark said apologetically.

"Pft, are you kidding, he was totally on board with the idea and wants me to take the two of you to help me follow up on our mysterious high tech weapons." Lois said as she began walking with the two of them.

"Really? Because he seemed pretty upset." Clark remarked.

"Oh don't worry Perry can just be like that sometimes." Lois said, brushing off Clark's concerns. "Now come on, that story isn't going to follow up on itself." Lois said before walking ahead of the two.

As Clark kept walking Jimmy looked over at his friend and a teasing smirk grew on his face. "I see the way you look at her." he teased.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about Jimmy." Clark said as he looked away from Jimmy and blushed a bit.

"You like her, and don't tell me you don't Clark because I've known you since the beginning of college and let me be the first to tell you that you are a horrible liar." Jimmy remarked. "Just go for it man it's not like you've got anything to really lose." Jimmy said before he ran forward and caught up to Lois.

Clark was conflicted, on the one hand he would admit that he found the girl attractive, however he had never been in a relationship before, until Jimmy he had kept nearly everyone at arm's length, if anyone were to learn the truth about him who knows how they'd react.

In a warehouse in the industrial district of Chicago, a group of about a dozen or so black armor.

It was then that the door to the warehouse slid open as a dark skinned woman with white hair wearing a black leather jacket with black body armor underneath it and grey pants.

She passed the large crates and towards the back where an older black man was waiting who was wearing a similar outfit to the girl.

The man turned from what he was doing and looked at her.

"What took you so long willis? The crew is starting to get restless." the man said.

"I had to make sure no rival gangs were snooping around, I'd rather not have a repeat of last time. So has there been any word from the boss yet?"

"No, not yet at least, things are still pretty hot right now, it could be days before we hear anything and I don't know about you Willis but I don't want to just sit in a warehouse waiting around for cops to show, or worse, the GDA." the man replied

"Relax, the boss owns like three fourths of the police department, and the GDA only deals with super villain shit, we have nothing to worry about." she replied.

It was then that one of the men approached the two of them with a phone in his hand. "Hey, boss is on the line!" The man called out.

"See, no reason to worry." She said as she grabbed the phone and put it on speaker. "Boss?"

"Well If it isn't my favorite weapons smuggler." a synthesized voice said from the other line. "Those assholes from the triads or yakuza or whatever the fuck haven't been snooping around have they? Because I already got a guy to take care of that as soon as he takes care of some other business for me."

"No, nothing since last night, we scared them off pretty good with these new weapons." Leslie said with a smirk.

"Normally I'd call you a fucking moron for using the weapons willy nilly like that but since I got to see the footage for myself and see how fucking good my new toys are i'll let it slide, don't let that shit happen again though." the man on the other line said.

"Understood boss, it won't happen again." Leslie said.

"Excellent, now, I need you and everyone else to start moving the goods, the smaller stuff will go to various places and the bigger stuff will go to the docks for now, easier to stash that stuff there, and move quickly, I'd rather not have a repeat of yesterday." the synthesized voice on the other line said before the phone hung up.

"Alright people you heard the boss, suit up and load the trucks." Leslie commanded.

"Ok so remind me why we are here again?" Jimmy asked.

"We are here to meet my very important and very legit journalistic source." Lois replied.

"And our source is… a group of kids?" Clark asked, a bit confused.

"Flip Johnson at your service." A dark skinned little girl who looked to be about ten or eleven said.

The girl wore a red shirt, blue shorts, and a backwards Chicago Bulls cap. Behind the girl were three other girls her age.

"Flip is one of the planet's newspaper delivery kids." Lois explained.

"We call ourselves the News Kid Legion, and I'm the leader."

"And because they see everything during their routes they always know what's happening in the city." Lois explained.

"Now flip, please tell me you've got something." Lois said pleadingly.

"Ms Lane, while I appreciate your past English torturing, it's bad business to hand out freebies, I'm gonna need something in return."

'Man this girl sure can bargain.' Clark thought before he asked. "Something like what?"

"I'm glad you asked, we need your help with the newskid news paper, our latest development. Gretchen does the puzzle, Gabby does the op-ed, Patti does the cartoons, but only because mom said we have to be nice to her, and I'm the editor.

"We wan't Perry to let us deliver our paper with his so if you could ask for us and also help me with my next three english essays-"

"One essay." Lois interjected.

"Two, and there will be snacks." Flip bargained.

"Deal." Lois said, agreeing to Flip's terms.

Flip pulled out a notebook. "Ok, in the last twenty four hours, a water main burst in the bank, they got rats over at Bagdanov's dinner, a friend of mine at school said Red Rush found her missing cat and returned it to her, Gabby saw a bunch of trucks running a red light, and I saw a weird pigeon, it was gross." Flip stated, noting everything that the group of kids had noticed.

"Wait, you said you saw trucks running a red light, were they garbage trucks by any chance?" Clark asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"If I had to smuggle weapons through the city."

"I'd find a way to do it in plain sight." Lois said, finishing his sentence for him.

"This isn't anything serious is it? If it is my Uncle Scott may be able to help, he works for the G.D.A. And he also has this cool thing he can do with electricity." One of the girls, Gretchen, if Lois remembered correctly, said.

"Thanks for the offer Gretchen, but you have nothing to worry about, we will be fine. Now Flip, tell us where-" Lois had begun to say before she was cut off by the sudden sound of gunfire.

"What the- are those gunshots?!" Jimmy blurted out.

Lois looked out and saw several Chicago police cruisers pulling up to the scene of what was most definitely a shootout.

Lois ran outside and began to make her way towards the commotion, which seemed to be originating from around the corner.

"Lois!" Clark called out, running after her.

Jimmy saw this and then turned to Flip and her friends. "You guys stay here!" he commanded before he ran outside, following Clark and Lois.

However, as Jimmy ran outside the store to chase after them, he saw something or someone fly in the alleyway in front of him.

Lois had been running toward the situation, but there was a chance it could be connected to the high tech weapons that were being smuggled, she had to check it out and see for herself.

When she rounded the corner however she saw something she hadn't expected.

Before her was a group of police officers in a shootout with two men in a suit and what she could only describe was a man made of concrete.

The concrete man appeared to be only wearing black sweatpants and tan boots, from what Lois could see the man's entire body seemed to be made out of pure concrete.

When the officers shot at the man, the bullets merely bounced off of him, unable to pierce his skin, making time for the two men in suits to make a break for the alleyway before the concrete man followed them.

Clark too had seen the commotion and the exchange of gunfire between the police and the gunmen, as well as the man who seemed to be made of concrete.

For a brief moment he thought about intervening and putting a stop to it, however just as quickly as the thought came up he quickly shoved it back down, the best he could do for now was to make sure Lois didn't get hurt.

Lois was determined to get a closer look at these three men and try to learn more about them and who they were, it would take more than a man made of concrete and two random goons to stop her from pursuing her story.

She watched as the police fired a few more rounds into the alley before radioing for backup and used that chance to run into the alley as she could hear the men arguing about something.

"Shut up and get us over the fence!" she heard one of the men shout at the concrete man.

The concrete man merely let out a grunt before picking both the men up and jumping over a fence in the alley.

As Lois watched this unfold, Clark finally caught up to her.

"Lois what are you thinking?! We have to get out of here!" he said in a whisper, part of him ready to spring into action in a flash in case the two of them were noticed by the three men.

Lois was about to reply before her eyes as well as Clark's widened in shock as something unexpected happened.

A figure had come barreling at the concrete man at a high rate of speed, tackling him through the fence and making him drop the two goons in his hand.

The figure had tumbled across the ground for a bit before skidding to a stop and getting back up on his feet. At the same time the concrete figure had gotten back to his feet as well.

Lois looked at the figure who had stepped in to stop the robbers, he wore an orange long sleeve shirt along with yellow gloves and a yellow bandana around his face with goggles, along with that he also wore blue and yellow sweat pants with orange boots.

"Who is that?" Clark asked in a whisper.

"I'm not sure, new hero from the looks of it." Lois replied, eyes glued to the scene before them.

The concrete man looked at the wannabe hero, while none of them could see his facial expression due to his face being nothing but concrete the man appeared to be glaring at the figure.

"Who the hell are you?" the concrete man asked.

"Uhh, not sure actually I didn't really think of anything before I came out to do this, I am taking suggestions though soo.." he trailed off.

"He sounds like a teenager." Clark noted in a whisper.

"Captain guy with a hole punched through him!" the concrete man said as he ran toward the hero.

"I don't know, it doesn't really roll off the tongue." The hero retorted before the concrete man threw a punch his way and he grabbed it before punching the concrete man across the face and in the stomach, though it didn't appear to hurt the man much as he just stared at the hero.

"Uhh so is this the part where you surren-" the hero had begun to say but was cut off by the concrete man punching him across the face, breaking one of the lenses of his goggles before punching him in the gut and delivering yet another punch to his face, cracking the other lens.

Before the hero could do anything, the concrete man grabbed him by the neck and threw him across the alley into a wall before he hit the ground.

The figure groaned and was breathing heavily before he looked up and glared at the concrete man.

Letting out a roar, he quickly flew toward the concrete man and tackled him, slamming him into the ground leaving damage on the ground and causing the concrete part of the man's back to come off, revealing dark skin under the concrete like exterior.

The hero sent the man into several walls in the alleyway, damaging the parts of the wall he crashed into as well as the concrete parts of the man's skin, revealing more of his actual appearance.

He continued to fly with the man, determined to put a stop to him, as he continued flying however he did not see the ladder that was on one of the buildings and as he flew the concrete man's upper body hit the bottom of the ladder causing his body to jerk forward and forcing the hero to let go.

The two came barreling out another part of the alley, with the man who was once made out of concrete hitting a parked car and causing it to flip over while the new hero skidded to the ground.

On that other side of the alley was none other than Jimmy, who had taken multiple pictures of the battle as it unfolded.

The hero got up and looked down at the once concrete man who turned out to be a dark skinned African American man, who by the looks of it appeared to be out cold.

"Hey man, are you ok?" Jimmy asked the new hero, noticing his goggles with one of the lenses being cracked and the other being missing entirely, showing the hero's brown eye.

The hero looked at Jimmy, a bit surprised at being approached by a civilian. "Uhh shouldn't I be asking you that?"

Before Jimmy could reply, Lois ran up to him with Clark right behind her.

"Wait! Who are you?" Lois asked him, curious as to who this mysterious new hero was.

"Kinda still working on that. Maybe Ass Kicker… no that sounds wilfully childish." the hero said.

Jimmy put his hand to his chin in thought before he snapped his fingers and gained an excited look on his face, clearly with an idea in mind.

"Oh! What about Ultraman?!"

The hero seemed like he was about to object but paused and seemed to think about it for a brief moment.

"That's actually not all that bad but I'm not sure yet, I'll definitely keep it in mind though." The Hero replied.

In the distance, a figure floated in the air, looking down as he had been through the entire duration of the altercation between the new hero and that concrete man.

This figure was none other than Nolan Grayson, also known as Omniman, who was looking down at the scene with an unreadable expression.

Nolan had contemplated going down there and dropping the hero before he could do anything else, in that simple fight alone he had caused an unnecessary amount of property damage.

However, he decided to pull back and let the boy continue to go about it this way, perhaps hands on experience was the only way he'd learn, with that he decided to fly off and leave Mark to his own devices for now.

On the ground, Clark looked up in the sky, feeling like something was watching him, however, when he looked up he did not find anything of note. Quickly dismissing it as nothing, Clark turned back to look at the hero.

"Hey, that was a great suggestion, I'll definitely keep it in mind." the hero said to Jimmy before he blasted off into the city, disappearing behind one of the many skyscrapers in the Chicago skyline.

"Hey wait!" Lois tried calling out but it was already too late by that point and she sighed.

"Was hoping he'd help us find those weapons, I guess we will have to do it on our own. But please tell me you got more photos of that guy."

"Of course I did, I captured dang near the entire thing. You're welcome." Jimmy replied.

"Wait." Clark said before turning and looking where the Concrete man was laying only to see that he was gone. "Where did that stone guy go?" Clark asked, causing Lois and Jimmy to look as they too saw that the man was gone.

"Damn it! That concrete guy got away." Lois said, crossing her arms and frowning.

"He was just knocked out wasn't he? How did he get away that fast?!" Clark exclaimed with a bewildered expression.

"He must've escaped while we were talking to that new hero." Lois said, her frown deepening.

"His accomplices didn't though." Jimmy said, gesturing to the two men in suits being placed in the back of police cars by CPD swat teams.

Clark sighed. "Let's go back to flip and find out where she saw those trucks." He suggested as the three went back to the store they had been in beforehand.

"That. Was. Awesome."

The trio turned to see Flip and her friends standing there in amazement, having seemingly witnessed the entire ordeal.

"What are you doing here? You guys could have gotten hurt being this close to something like that!" Jimmy exclaimed.

"And you think because you're like twelve years older than me that you're immortal or something?" Flip scoffed.

Jimmy had opened his mouth to retort what the girl had said but found he genuinely had no response for that.

"She kinda got you there." Clark admitted, chuckling slightly.

"Alright, Flip, show us where you and your friends saw those trucks." Lois said, still determined to pursue her story, there would be plenty of time to discuss what they had seen later.

The trio had made their way to the general area of where flip said her and her friends had seen the trucks, it didn't take long for the two of them to find a large warehouse in the area, definitely large enough to hold whatever weapons were being smuggled around.

The three had stood across the street and observed the warehouse for a bit, and had noticed no activity in or around the warehouse.

"I think the place is empty." Jimmy said.

"Only one way to find out." Lois stated, getting to her feet about to make her way to the warehouse when Clark gently grabbed her shoulder.

"Lois, this story is already dangerous as it is, are you certain that Mr White is allowing us to go through with a story of this magnitude?" Clark asked with a hint of worry in his voice.

It was then that Lois received a notification on her phone and took a quick look at it before putting it back in her pocket.

"That was him just now, he wants us to go through with it, and he's counting on us to get this story." Lois Reassured before she made her way to the warehouse.

Clark followed behind, taking her word for it, not having a reason to believe that she had lied.

The three approached the front of the warehouse, noticing the large front door of the warehouse was partially open, the three slowly made their way towards it, listening for any sign of anyone being inside, but heard nothing.

Lois looked at Clark and nodded as he slid the door of the warehouse open fully. What greeted them inside was a near empty warehouse

"Well this isn't good." Jimmy remarked as he walked in with the others.

"Damn it! The weapons should've been here!" Lois said frustratedly.

"Let's take a look around, we still might find something that could help us find out where they took the weapons." Clark said as the three began to spread around the warehouse and search.

As they looked around, Jimmy found what looked to be some type of card on the floor, and picked it up and observed it. "Hey guys." he called out to the two of them. "Take a look at this."

Both Clark and Lois had gone over to Jimmy to see what he had found, with Jimmy showing them the card he had found.

The card looked to be a keycard of some sort, with the logo of the Chicago port printed on it.

"The Chicago port! That must be where they took the weapons! They could easily store the weapons there and even distribute the weapons easier." Lois deduced, her excitement growing, they now knew where the weapons were being stored and would be able to get the story.

It was then that Clark's phone began to ring, picking it up, he recognized the caller ID as his boss, Perry White, stepping away from Jimmy and Lois as they talked, he answered. "Hello Mr White." Clark greeted

"I know Lane is dodging me so I figured i'd call you instead, I do not know what Lane told you, but all three of you need to get back to the planet right now, or don't bother coming back at all." Perry said sternly on the other line before hanging up.

Clark had a look of disbelief before it morphed into one of disappointment and mild anger.

Lois ran up behind Clark. "Hey what are you doing over here? We need to go to the port before the trail gets cold. Once we get there we can-" she was about to continue as she started walking but stopped as Clark had cut her off.

"Perry just called." Clark had said, causing Lois to let out a short gasp and her eyes to widen a bit.

"You lied Lois, me and Jimmy both put our trust in you and you lied."

"Ok maybe I wasn't all that upfront but come on Clark I needed you and Jimmy's help, I knew if I had told you what Perry said you wouldn't have helped me." Lois explained.

"You didn't even give us the chance!" Clark shot back, his voiced raised slightly.

"Because this was too important to wait, people need to know what's going on out there, these weapons are dangerous, the city is in serious trouble if we don-"

"This isn't about the city Lois, it's about you, you were willing to go after this story at the expense of both me and Jimmy, you put our careers in jeopardy just so you could be the one to 'get the scoop' if you really cared about the city and were truly concerned you would have given that footage and what info you had to the police, or even taken that little girls advice and contacted the GDA, but you didn't." Clark said, his frown deepening slightly.

"Come on Clark, you know that isn't-" She sighed. "Were a team Clark, you, me, Jimmy, all three of us."

"No, we're not a team, we're just two people who were dumb enough to let the ambitions of a wannabe reporter trick us into nearly losing our jobs, but now we know better." Clark shot back.

Lois frowned, the words Clark had said had stung, she didn't know if it was due to the wannabe reporter comment or the fact that she had taken a liking to Clark and was hurt to hear those words from someone she had already considered a friend despite not knowing him for very long.

Lois' frown turned into a fierce look of determination, she had come too far to quit now, and would not be deterred by Clark or anyone else. He thought she was just a wannabe reporter? Fine. he was just another person on a long list who she'd prove wrong.

"Uhh are you two ok?" Jimmy asked, having seen the commotion between the two and had made his way over there to make sure everything was fine.

"Come on Jimmy, let's go." Lois said, grabbing Jimmy by the Strap of his back and dragging him off, which just confused him more as they left Clark in the warehouse by himself.

The now Duo had made their way to the port, along the way Jimmy had quietly listened to Lois vent her frustration with Clark and what he had said to her.

"I'll show him and the others why I'm going to be the best reporter this city has ever seen. Now come on, we can use the keycard to sneak in."

"Look , I've known Clark for years and I don't think he meant to-" Jimmy was about to say but was cut off by Lois.

"Forget about Clark, let's just focus on getting into the port and finding those weapons." Lois remarked as the two made their way to the gate which strangely had no security at the front which was abnormal for the Chicago Port to say the least.

"No guards? A little strange don't you think?" Lois stated more than questioned as she scanned the keycard against a device in front of the gate and it opened, allowing the two of them to make their way inside the port seemingly undetected.

The two could hear what sounded like people talking and machinery being used not too far from them.

"This way." Lois commanded, as she ducked between two shipping containers, with Jimmy quickly following behind her.

Lois glanced from the otherside of the container where she could make out several figures in black combat gear wielding automatic weapons, amongst them was a woman with a black leather jacket and white hair that was cut on the sides who seemed to be commanding the others. These were the same men that she had seen on the CCTV footage that she had recovered.

Lois was also able to make out several large black metal crates that stood out amongst the normal shipping containers. A large crane was currently moving one of the black crates, seemingly preparing to stack them on top of one another alongside the shipping containers.

"This is it! these are the weapons, and the smugglers are here too!" Lois exclaimed in a hushed whisper.

"Ok, so now that we found them, what exactly is the game plan now?" Jimmy asked.

A thoughtful expression appeared on Lois' face as she tried to formulate a plan in her head, however, before she could, she turned her attention back to the men in black uniforms as two of the men came from around the corner dragging two men who were tied up and throwing them to the ground.

Lois took note of the appearance of the men who were tied up and quickly recognized that the two men were the guards of the port; she also noticed one of the guards' heads was bleeding.

"Rounded up these two guards, looks like there was some type of scheduling change because these ain't the ones on the bosses payroll." one of the men explained as Leslie had walked over to the two of them.

"Fucking great, just what we needed, a god damn scheduling conflict."

"Want us to kill them?" the other goon asked.

Leslie sighed. "That depends on them, we could simply put them on the bosses payroll too, would give us more insurance for the future and would be less of a hassle compared to killing them, which could create potential problems, and last thing the boss needs is more problems."

"So what will it be?" She said as she along with the men glanced at the two guards who looked up at them in fear. "Will you play ball? Or are we gonna have to put you down?" She asked, pulling out a desert eagle from within her jacket and pressing it against one of the guards' skulls.

From the containers Lois and Jimmy watched the entire ordeal unfold, both becoming more and more worried with what they were seeing.

Thinking quickly, Jimmy decided it would be best to get some pictures as evidence.

Jimmy quickly snaps a photo of the situation, unfortunately for him and Lois, in his haste to gather evidence against these people and their crimes he had forgotten that the camera let off a flash of light, a flash of light that did not go unnoticed.

"What the hell?" Leslie said, turning her attention to where the flash came from when she spotted the two.

"God damnit! Find those assholes and get rid of them! They could blow the entire operation!" Leslie shouted, as several men opened fire on Lois and Jimmy.

Lois quickly grabbed Jimmy and ducked, most of the bullets hit the containers, while others would have hit them if not for Lois's quick thinking.

Multiple thugs quickly sprint to the containers with the intention of killing whoever those two people were.

Lois quickly sprinted with Jimmy between the various containers as she could hear the sound of the men chasing after them.

"Oh my god! Did they just shoot at us!? They just shot at us!" Jimmy exclaimed in a panic as they ran.

"Keep your voice down Jimmy!" Lois told him in a hushed whisper as they ducked behind another container.

Several men stopped right in front of the container they had hid behind.

"Alright, they couldn't have gone far, four of you go to the exits and the rest of us will split up into smaller groups to track them down, those two do not leave this port alive." One of the men, who like the woman with white hair, also had a black leather jacket.

"You got it Badger." One of the thugs commented as they began splitting up around the area.

Thankfully none of them had noticed Lois or Jimmy as they quickly but quietly moved further into the port and away from the exit that they had almost reached that was now being guarded.

"Damnit, we need another way out of here." Lois commented.

"Like what? They have all the exits covered, and they know what we look like!" Jimmy exclaimed in a hushed whisper.

"Calm down Jimmy, just let me think for a second." Lois said, but not even five seconds later the two heard footsteps approaching them as Lois took Jimmy and dove behind a forklift.

"So one of the people we're supposed to kill was a girl right?" One of the thugs asked.

"Sure looked that way. Why?" The other thug replied with an eyebrow raised.

"Because we may be able to make some extra money that's why, I know a guy up in Gotham who will pay us some good money to hand that girl over." The first thug explained.

"We're supposed to kill her though, aren't we? Won't the boss get pissed off if he finds out we sold her off to Gotham somewhere? Besides don't they got some cluster fuck of a gang war going on over there? Boss would kill us if we got him wrapped up in that shitshow." The second thug argued.

"Relax, my contact is neutral in that whole clusterfuck… I think. Anyway there's no need to worry, we kill the guy, and just tell Leslie he said she got out before we covered the exits, that and the camera should be enough to suffice, no camera no evidence after all." The first thug retorted.

"Maybe that could work, but even if we do, wouldn't we attract the attention of that bat guy down in Gotham?" The second thug said.

"The bat?" The first thug laughed at his colleague. "Ain't nobody seen the bat in like twenty five years or something, hell he probably didn't even exist, only guys I see talking about him are usually older, all those toxins in shit those freaks had in Gotham back in the day probably scrambled their brain."

"I'll tell you what, we can have a little fun with her before we ship her off, if you promise to stop complaining." The first thug proposed.

"Now you're speaking my language." The second thug said, a smirk growing on his face.

For every word that was said, Lois's blood ran more and more cold, her eyes wide in horror as the reality of the situation she was in and the people she was up against finally began to set in.

Jimmy was just as horrified as Lois was, having heard that entire conversation and knowing what they planned to do to him and her if they were found. This was no longer just simple investigative journalism, it was life or death.

"Well we gotta find em first, and they obviously aren't here, c'mon let's get a move on." The first thug said as he began walking.

Just when Lois and Jimmy thought they were in the clear. The other guard said something that made the both of them tense up in fear.

"Wait."

"What is it?"

"I gotta take a piss." The second thug revealed.

"What the hell man, why didn't you go beforehand?"

"Didn't have to go until now, relax, it'll only take a second." The second thug reassured the first as he started to make his way to the forklift, unaware that the two people he and his colleague were looking for were using the forklift as their hiding spot.

As he walked up beside the forklift and unzipped his pants, his rifle hanging to his side as he was getting ready to take a leak.

As he was about to do so, he took a glance from the corner of his eye to look down at the other side of the forklift only to see none other than Lois and Jimmy who were both crouched down looking at him with fear present on both of their expressions.

In an instant, Lois's fight or flight kicked in and she sprang up, lunging at the thug and going for his gun.

The thug's eyes widened as he quickly found himself in a fight for his rifle against this girl, and while the girl was giving it all she had, the thug had at least 100 pounds over the girl and more muscle to go with it.

However, as he was about to yank the gun from her, the girl kicked him in the groin, causing the thug to fall to one knee and his grip to loosen on the gun allowing for Lois to grab the gun from him and hit him over the head with the butt of it, knocking the thug out.

The first thug, having witnessed the entire ordeal, aimed his own rifle at the girl and began firing at her, forcing her to take cover behind the forklift with one of the bullets barely grazing her left shoulder which caused her to grit her teeth in pain.

Lois was now pinned down by gunfire, she had to think back, think back to her dads training, the things he showed her, and what he told her to do in a situation like this, trying to find anything that would get her out of this predicament.

She knew she didn't have much time, not only was he firing upon her, but he was also getting closer, she needed a way out of this, and it would need to come sooner rather than later.

That's when she noticed something she hadn't noticed until now.

Where was Jimmy?

The thug had stopped shooting as he made his way closer to the forklift, he wasn't stupid enough to waste all of his ammo, and he also needed to hurry, if he wanted to make any extra cash, he would need the girl alive.

That's when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching him from the side, footsteps that were running straight towards him.

He turned to see Jimmy running to tackle him to the floor.

However, the thug easily stepped out the way and struck Jimmy across the face with his gun. The scrawny bastard was truly a fool if he thought that of all things was going to work.

Jimmy let out a grunt of pain as he hit the floor, his face now bleeding from being hit with the man's gun like that, as he looked up, his eyes widening in fear and horror.

"Was that the best you could think of? You deserve a bullet to the face for that stupid ass decision alone." The thug said as he was about to pull a trigger.

It was right after this was said that the sound of a single gunshot was heard.

Lois stood there momentarily frozen in shock; the barrel of the rifle she held smoking from the shot that had just been fired from it.

She looked at the thug who had slumped to the ground, dead, the life leaving his eyes in an instant as a nearby container was stained with the man's blood and brain matter.

Jimmy too was also in shock, having seen his entire life flash before his eyes before his life was saved thanks to Lois's quick thinking, he looked at the thugs body, which was laying in a pool of blood that had originated from the man's headshot wound with the blood pool extending all the way to Jimmy's shoes before he quickly stood up and turned to Lois, who was still frozen, completely taken aback by what she had done.

"I…I killed him..." was all Lois could say, a look of horror presents on her features as the rifle fell from her hands, clattering onto the floor.

"Oh…oh God what have I done...?"

Jimmy could hear more footsteps coming, the other thugs had clearly heard the gunshots and were now making their way to them.

"Lois! We need to go! Now!" Jimmy almost yelled, causing Lois to snap out of it and to start running with Jimmy.

Mark's first day as a hero was interesting to say the least, when he first started, he was hoping to find an event big enough that would allow him to take out his anger and frustration that had built up ever since unlocking his powers.

His training with his father had not gone the way he hoped, especially the part where his dad punched him in the chest. He wasn't prepared then, but now he was, and he had spent the entire evening proving that to himself.

Throughout the day he had stopped a bank robbery, fought some guy made of stone, stopped some muggings, stopped a car jacking, a break in, and even picked up an ambulance that was stuck in traffic and flew it to the hospital.

Mark wasn't ready when his dad hit him, but now he was more than ready for anything that would come his way.

Currently, Mark was flying through the air, hoping someone would do something stupid that would give him a valid excuse to punch them, not too hard of course, after all he didn't want to accidentally kill anyone.

That is when he heard it, the sound of gunshots. Turning his head, he could hear that the shots were coming from the Chicago Port.

Mark quickly banked in the direction of the port and quickly flew above the port, he could see what looked like two people running as they were being chased by several men wielding rifles and shotguns and wearing black body armor.

Upon closer inspection Mark recognized the two figures as the people he had seen earlier after he beat up that stone guy.

It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who the victims were vs who the aggressors were in this situation.

Lois and Jimmy were running and ducking from one container to the next as the thugs were not far behind them.

As they hit a corner, they were met by a thug who was wielding an automatic shotgun and had it pointed right at the two of them.

However, before the thug could do anything, someone slammed into the man, sending him into a container, putting a giant dent in it and knocking the thug out.

Lois and Jimmy immediately recognized their savior as the hero they had witnessed stop a bank robbery earlier in the day.

"It's you." Lois said with a bit of relief.

"What's going on? Why are these guys trying to kill you?" Mark asked, trying to get a better idea as to what was happening.

"We were following a lead on high tech weapons that were being smuggled around the city, and we tracked them here, but they spotted us and me, and Jimmy had to hide and then there were these two guys and I…" Lois explained before trailing off, remembering what she had done not even five minutes ago.

"Ok, ok, just uhh, find somewhere to hide or get out of here if you can." Mark urged, standing up straight and turning to where more of the thugs should be.

The thugs came around a corner anticipating finding the two targets they were sent to kill but instead were greeted by the sight of someone completely different.

"Who the fuck is that?" One of the thugs asked.

"Does it matter? Shoot him!" The other thug exclaimed as she started shooting at Mark.

Mark's eyes widened as the bullets flew in his direction. Acting quickly, he moved towards the thug and clocked him across the face, sending him into several other thugs before kicking another into a container, denting the container and knocking the thug out.

Mark felt some of the bullets hit his skin, however the bullets usually just got crushed against his skin and Mark could barely feel it, if anything it was way more annoying than it was painful.

Mark made quick work of all the thugs in that area, being careful not to kill them in the process.

Mark looked around at his work, honestly, he had expected a bit more, but he figured it was better than nothing, the only downside was that his clothes were now in complete ruin due to the bullets tearing so many holes in his outfit.

"Is that all of them? That was pretty underwhelming to be honest." Mark commented as he turned his head to where Lois and Jimmy were hiding as he started to float up. "I'll find the rest of these guys and shut down whatever is going on here, you guys just get someplace safe."

However, as he was about to fly off, he was halted by the woman calling out to him.

"Wait!" Lois called out to him, causing him to stop and look back at her.

"You need to be careful; they have two port guards as hostages." Lois informed him.

Mark nodded his head in understanding, thankful for the heads up. "Alright, I'll handle it." Mark said as he began to fly up and fly to the other side of the port he had seen the thugs coming from.

However, as he was making his way over there Mark was hit by a red laser which managed to shoot him out of the sky causing his body to slam into some stacked containers, making them fall over.

Mark groaned as he got back on his feet, unlike the bullets he had been hit with moments ago, whatever he was just hit with was actually painful.

Mark looked up only to see a red flash of light before he was hit again, this time being sent through the container.

Mark was much quicker to get up on his feet this time, now far more alert as he searched for where that blast was coming from

He immediately saw an older African American man with short blonde hair wearing a black leather jacket with black body armor underneath and the man was wielding some type of gun, though he could quickly make out that the gun wasn't ordinary.

The gun looked high tech in nature and Mark quickly came to realize that this was one of the high techs weapons the woman he saved claimed these men were smuggling.

As the man seemed to get ready to shoot him again, Mark moved in a blur, clocking the man across the face a little harder than he had intended, causing the man to hit a container with such force his head along with most of his upper body went through the container, the lower half of his body which was hanging from the container went limp.

Mark winced slightly at what he had just done, he really shouldn't have hit the guy that hard, he was just a normal guy with apparently a really expensive gun.

Mark looked down and noticed that his long-sleeved shirt which he had used for his makeshift outfit was completely gone as a result of being hit by that laser gun or whatever it was.

"Damnit, I really gotta get a real hero costume after this." Mark muttered to himself before he turned his attention to the sound of a voice.

Looking at the ground that the man who shot at him was standing on moments before he was sent into the container Mark saw a walkie talkie, with the voice of a woman coming from it.

"Badger, Badger come in, I heard you fire your weapon, what happened to the men? Was there a complication? Badger? Badger!?"

Mark looked at the walkie for a few seconds before he turned and floated up, quickly making his way to the other side of the port. It was likely that whoever that woman was she would try to escape, potentially with the hostages, and he couldn't let that happen.

Flying above, he could make out a few more thugs standing near some weird black high-tech containers and some smaller black crates, Mark figured that these crates and containers are where the weapons were being stored.

Amongst the thugs was a woman who wore the same outfit as that guy he sent into the container, and she looked rather pissed off.

'Must be the woman who I heard on that walkie talkie.' Mark thought.

Leslie was both pissed off and concerned, she had not heard any word from Badger or any of the other men that were sent to kill those two, she had only heard the sound of gunshots and soon she heard the sound of Badgers weapon being fired along with a few loud crashing noises before things went quiet.

Something was definitely wrong, and she had a hunch that it wasn't those two she had caught snooping around who had anything to do with this.

"The other men haven't returned, and nor has Badger, what do we do? Should we call the boss and ask for-" one of the men tried to say but was cut off by Leslie.

"No! We cannot call the boss, if he finds out we fucked this up and compromised this entire operation its our heads!" Leslie shouted as she emphasized the importance of not telling the boss.

These weapons were very important to the boss, more important to him than any other batch of weapons or drugs she had smuggled for him before, she could not afford for this job to go sideways in the slightest.

"Well, I don't think your boss is about to be too happy because whatever this is, I'm shutting it down." Mark declared as he hovered above the woman and what few thugs remained.

"So, you're the one who's been causing me trouble, and just who the hell are you supposed to be?" Leslie asked with a sneer.

"Oh well it's funny you should ask, I'm kinda still working on that part, though I'm open to suggestions." Mark quipped which seemed to have the intended effect as the woman's facial expression became even more pissed off.

"You picked the wrong day to cross me, kid." Leslie stated before yelling. "Do it!"

One of the men who was standing near the large black container hit some sort of button on one of the containers causing the button to go from red to green.

The top of the container flew off and landed behind it. What emerged from the container made Mark's eyes go wide; he wasn't quite sure what he was expecting but it definitely wasn't this.

Standing before him was a large humanoid robot, its head had a large red censor on the front of it that acted as its eye, along with that it also had a large red core on its chest. Mark could also make out some kind of marking or label on it that read xt-00.

Mark didn't have time to ponder on what that meant as the robot wasted no time as it threw a punch at Mark which was rather quick for the robot's size.

The punch struck Mark and sent him into the ground hard, causing it to crack a bit.

The robot began hammering punches down on Mark with both of its metallic fists, on the robots fifth swing Mark grabbed the fist of the robot before letting out a roar and throwing the robot off of him, sending it back first onto the ground as it slid a couple of feet before picking itself right back up.

Mark could feel blood dripping from his head, that robot packed a punch, and it was actually hurting him, he could feel pain in his chest and stomach as well.

Mark held his side and groaned. "What the hell kind of robot is that?" He asked mostly to himself.

Both of the lenses of his goggles were destroyed, he ripped them off his face and threw them to the ground, surprisingly his bandana was still decently intact.

As the robot closed the distance between itself and Mark, Mark flew at the robot with both fists extended out before flying straight into the core on the robot's chest, causing it to crack and making the robot stagger back.

Mark noticed the cracked core and immediately knew where its weak spot was and quickly made to hit it in the same spot again, however, unlike the previous time, the robot aimed its palm at Mark, a red light emerging from it before it fired a red laser at Mark.

The laser encompassed Mark's entire body the laser was much more powerful than the one that thug had hit him with earlier, however, Mark pushed through it, moving through the laser blast all the way to the robot, letting out a scream of pain as he did so, before he reached striking distance and hit the robot with such force in its core that his entire arm went through it, causing the light in the robot's censor and core to go out as the robot fell onto the ground.

Mark breathed heavily as he hovered over the now defeated robot, while he managed to end the fight quickly, that didn't change the fact that the robot he just fought packed a punch and had lasers powerful enough to seriously hurt him.

As Mark began to ponder just who the hell made robots this powerful and where they came from, he heard a series of sounds that made his heart sink.

Looking over, he could see the remaining containers had been opened, and the robots emerged from each of them.

One was already bad enough but now there were seven, seven robots who were capable of hurting him.

"Oh shit…" Mark muttered as six of the robots began to encircle him, while the seventh went off in a different direction, the direction those two civilians were.

Now this was serious, Mark needed to stop that robot, along with these others. Thinking quickly, he made a move to go for the one who was going for the two civilians, however, as he had attempted to fly to that robot, one of the six others grabbed him by the leg and slammed him into the concrete, causing a crater to form and causing Mark to cough up a bit of blood.

Another robot wasted no time in trying to stomp on him and crush him, Mark had just barely avoided being stomped on as he quickly flew out the way.

Mark looked at the 6 robots, knowing that he was about to have a difficult time, but also highly concerned for the wellbeing of those two civilians. He could only hope they could hold out long enough until he handled the current six, which was much easier said than done.

Clark walked down the streets of Chicago, he had a sullen look on his face as he walked with his hands in his pockets, he had felt really terrible about what he had said to Lois, and while he still believed she should have told him and Jimmy about her true intentions it didn't make what he said any less right.

As he continued walking, he noticed someone coming towards him on a small bike, upon closer inspection he noticed the person on the bike was the little girl from earlier, Flip if he remembered correctly and from the look on her face she appeared to be distressed.

"Clark! It's lois! She was right!" Flip yelled out of breath as she stopped her bike in front of Clark as she took a moment to catch her breath.

"Flip? What do you mean? What was Lois right about?" Clark asked, his face taking on a look of concern.

"I saw her and Jimmy go into the port and then I started hearing gunshots! I think they might be in trouble! What are we going to do?! Should we call Perry? Gretchen's uncle? My mom!?" Flip said as she looked down and reached in her pocket fumbling for her phone before feeling a strong gust of wind and looking up, only to find Clark was no longer there.

"Clark?" she called out as she looked around.

Lois and Jimmy had been hiding on the other side of the port, they could hear loud banging and crashing sounds and were becoming more and more concerned on what was going on and if the hero that saved them was all right, she could tell from his voice that he was younger than them, probably still in high school if she had to guess and that made her only more anxious to know if he was ok.

Her thoughts were caught off as she and Jimmy felt the ground shake and the sound of something large and heavy approaching their direction.

"Uhhh Lois… what is that?" Jimmy asked, a tinge of fear present in his voice as he spoke.

"I…i'm not sure Jimmy." Lois said clearly, just as worried as he was.

The two glanced at each other with wide eyes, both wondering just what the hell that could be, that was until the two saw a shadow looming over them.

Both Lois and Jimmy looked up only to be shocked and horrified at what they saw, peering over the containers was the robot Mark failed to stop, prepared to complete its mission of terminating both Lois and Jimmy before returning to the rest to aid them in dealing with Mark.

The two of them looked for only a second longer before they both began to run, the robot simply used its laser to melt its way through the containers to pursue the two of them.

The two of them were being chased down by this robot which seemed to possess lasers and was running on all fours to chase them both down.

As Lois continued moving from one corner to the next she eventually found that Jimmy was no longer running with her, likely having turned a different direction than her at some point.

As Lois backed up and looked around frantically she felt herself back into someone and quickly whirled around and was prepared to fight whoever she had bumped into.

Her look of panic and fear quickly turned into one of relief however as she saw who it was that she bumped into.

"Clark? Clark your back! We need to hurry and get Jimmy Clark! That hero from earlier is here and he saved us but I think there may be more of-" Lois started to explain but before she could she saw Jimmy turn a corner and run toward the three of them.

"Guys! Run!" Jimmy called out as he ran as turning the corner in pursuit of him was none other than the robot.

Clark's eyes widened in shock as he saw the Robot barreling in their direction, he knew Flip had said that they were in trouble and honestly he wasn't sure what to expect when he arrived, but it certainly wasn't this.

Seeing that the robot was gaining on Jimmy, he knew Jimmy only had seconds before the robot would get within striking range and Clark knew he couldn't let that happen.

Moving quickly, Clark ran toward Jimmy who developed a look of shock and surprise but before either him or Lois could protest Clark pushed Jimmy out the way of the robots half before the robot could swat Jimmy into a container.

With Jimmy now out of its field of vision the robot set its sights on the best next thing and swatted Clark with force into a container sending him through it completely.

"Clark no!" Lois shouted in horror as she watched Clark get batted through a container before the robot set its sights back on her and Jimmy who had gotten back up and rushed to Lois's side.

As Lois and Jimmy ran once again, Clark got up, that robot was powerful, and he knew he needed to help Lois and Jimmy, and from what he could gather, the hero from earlier was also here and was potentially fighting more of these robots.

Clark always used his powers for minor acts of kindness, but never felt he would have to use them to their fullest, but now he had to, he had the power to do something in his situation, to save those he cared about.

As Lois and Jimmy turned another corner they found themselves in a dead end, turning around the two of them came face to face with the robot, who finally had them cornered.

As the robot thrusted its massive fist forward intending to crush the two of them. Both Lois and Jimmy closed their eyes, bracing themselves for what they believed would be their final moments.

However, as they stood there with their eyes closed, nothing happened.

The two of them opened their eyes at the same time only to be greeted by a sight they hadn't anticipated.

Floating before them was a man who was holding back the fist of the robot with both hands, the man was hovering above the air and he appeared to be wearing a port workers jacket with a hoodie over his face that obscured his face.

The figure wasted no time in quickly flying at the robot and delivering consecutive blows to the robot's face causing it to stagger back.

Giving the robot no time to recover, the figure struck the robot right in the core cracking it and sending the robot to the ground.

The figure quickly landed on the robot's chest and began to rip the core out with all his strength until he eventually pulled the core from out of its chest, causing the robot to go limp.

Clark breathed out a heavy sigh as he looked at the now destroyed robot, he had quickly snagged up this port workers jacket and wore it in order to conceal his identity, now he just needed to find a way to shut the rest of these robots down and put a stop to this.

He jetted off in the direction he could hear some sort of skirmish taking place between the robots and that hero they had spotted earlier, he knew that if there were more of these robots that he may be in serious trouble.

As Clark approached, he could see that it looked like a tornado had swept through this side of the port, containers were scattered about, some of them torn open with the items inside spilling out of them.

He noticed that there were two robots that were down, one had a hole in its core and the other looked like it had a container smashed down on its head.

Clark continued to draw nearer to the fight until he eventually came upon the fight which was appearing to become more and more one sided.

Five of the robots had remained, and Mark was not faring so well against the five of them.

Currently, Mark was tackling one through a series of crates, destroying the crates and making the robot land on its back.

Mark attempted to punch through the robot's core but before he could do so the robot swatted him off its chest and into the air where it was met with a laser blast from another robot which sent him flying into one of the cranes of the port.

Mark landed on his back and let out a groan of pain, his head and face were far more bloody now and he had blood and bruises on his arms and torso.

However, despite this, Mark was unwilling to give up. If these robots weren't destroyed and were kept in the hands of whoever these people were, it could cause serious problems.

As Mark groaned and began to float back up, he saw one of the robots charging at him again, ready to swat Mark back into the ground.

However, before the robot could land a hit, its hand was grabbed by Clark, who held the robot's fist before swinging the robot around and throwing it back into the other four robots, knocking them all over.

Mark had a look of surprise, he hadn't expected to be saved by this newcomer, he wondered who he could be, there were a couple people with skill sets similar to him and his dad such as the immortal but they were few and far between.

Was this guy a new hero like he was? It didn't seem like it, if anything Mark believed he may have been a port worker judging by his outfit but Mark still wasn't certain, he hadn't seen any port workers other than the two security guards who were tied up.

However he pushed those thoughts to the side for the time being, he could figure out who this guy was later, right now he needed to take care of these robots.

"Great! There's two of them! Just fucking great!" Leslie growled as she turned to the other remaining thugs only to find that they had long since run off, realizing that this was something that they couldn't handle.

Leslie quickly realized that the situation was now a total failure, she no longer had enough men to smuggle the robots somewhere else and even if the robots killed these two wannabe heroes more would show up along with police and even the G.D.A. And no matter how this situation ended up she would end up on her bosses shit list, and nobody wanted to end up on this bosses shit list.

This was supposed to be her chance to truly move up, the boss was highly enthusiastic about attaining the high tech weapons but especially the robots, and while he'd still have plenty of high tech weapons left the loss of the robots would be sure to piss him off.

Leslie decided to simply cut her losses and flee, she would need to go underground, find a way to make this right by any means necessary, but she wouldn't leave without some form of insurance.

She took one of the smaller crates and put it in the trunk of one of the cars and drove off in it, leaving the port and the ongoing battle behind so she could live to fight another day.

Mark quickly flew beside the new figure. "Hey, thanks for the save." Mark thanked the newcomer.

Clark took a glance at Mark and nodded, noting Mark's numerous injuries before turning his attention back to the five robots who were getting back up.

"Oh shit! Hey man! I need you to get out of here! There were two civilians here and one of those robots chased them, they could be in trouble!" Mark told the newcomer with urgency, not knowing the situation had already been dealt with.

"I already took care of it, and I'm here to help you take the rest of these things down." Clark reassured while he kept his eyes fixated on the robots.

Mark let out a sigh of relief. "Good, now we only have five of these things left to go."

"Alright, I'll take on three of them and you take the other two."

"Wait, are you sure that's a good idea?" Mark asked.

"You're more hurt than me, I can take the load off your shoulders!" Clark shouted before rushing at three of the robots while Mark settled for the other two.

Clark uppercutted one of the robots before delivering several consecutive blows to the robots face. He managed to avoid a swipe from another robot and flew into its core with both fists sending it into the ground and cracking its core.

The third robot aimed both its palms at Clark and fired its lasers at him, Clark attempted to go under the lasers but one of them hit him on his shoulder causing Clark to grit his teeth in pain as he pushed through and hit the robot on the sensor on its head, cracking it.

As Clark moved for the robots core, he was grabbed by the other robot he had knocked down earlier which had since gotten back up, and was promptly slammed into the ground the three robots now loomed over him and all began to take turns punching down on him, each punch cracking the ground and injuring Clark more and more.

Mark glanced over to see Clark's current predicament but found no time to help as his momentary distraction led to him being struck across the face by one of the two robots he was facing off against, making him spin in the air briefly before he steadied himself and glared at the two robots.

He needed to end this quickly, he watched as one of the robots charged at him while the other stayed back and fired lasers at him.

The days events flashed in Mark's mind, the training with his dad, getting hit in the chest by his dad, the anger he felt afterward, the moment he told Todd to hit him and the anger he felt then, the moment he flew into the city and fought that stone guy and beat him, he knew he could do this, he had to do this, he was Viltrumite, he had to be strong, he had to be invincible.

Mark let out a roar as he flew toward the robot at a higher speed then he ever had up until that point, he flew at the robots lower abdomen, punching through it completely and breaking the robot into two as he flew straight for the one who was firing lasers at him and avoided every laser shot before he flew into the second robots core with both fists and went right through it.

Lois and Jimmy got closer to the scene and watched the new hero along with the mysterious port worker fight against the robots.

As the fight happened Lois looked over at the black containers that the robots had seemingly emerged from and got an idea.

Lois quickly sprinted to the black containers while the robots were occupied, if her theory was correct then she could put a stop to this.

Clark meanwhile managed to find an opening between the punches the robots threw at him and moved out the way before grabbing one of the robots by the leg and slamming it into another robot.

As the third one aimed its palm at Clark to fire a laser it was stopped by Mark slamming a garbage truck onto the robot's head, causing it to fall over.

"You good?" Mark asked as he caught his breath, looking at Clark who seemed to be pretty winded as well.

He could see the guys face a bit better and could also see he had some injuries of his own notably a black eye, not as bad as his was but still pretty rough, he could also see the man had black hair and blue eyes, he seemed familiar to Mark though Mark couldn't figure out where he had seen him before.

"I'll be ok." Clark breathed out as he turned to see two of the robots getting back up while the third threw the garbage truck off of him and stood back up.

Mark and Clark flew beside each other again, ready to take on the remaining three robots when something unexpected happened.

One of the robots simply fell over and appeared to be deactivated.

This caused both Mark and Clark to develop looks of surprise as the two remaining robots turned their heads towards the containers where Lois was standing, having pressed a button on one of the containers.

The two robots forgot about both Clark and Mark as they charged for Lois, self preservation taking top priority for the remaining robots.

"Lois!" Clark cried out as Mark began to fly after the two robots.

However, as Mark began racing towards the robots he was hit in the back by a laser blast and sent into the ground.

Both Clark and Mark looked back in shock only to find that the robot Mark had ripped in half earlier was still functioning even without its lower half and had fired at mark before turning its sights on Clark.

However before it could fire again its body also went limp and seemed to deactivate as Lois had pressed a button on another container.

"Shit." Mark cursed as he saw the other two robots closing the distance between themselves and Lois.

Just what was it with this girl and getting herself in dangerous situations that he had to continuously save her from.

"I take the one on the left and you take the one on the right!" Mark said as he sprang into action.

Mark came at the robot on the left from the side and tackled it into one of the warehouses in the port, sending it crashing through the warehouse and into all sorts of crates and other items that were inside the warehouse.

Clark, seeing that the robot on the right was about to reach Lois, felt a surge of energy around him as his eyes glowed blue and blue energy surged around him.

Lois stared wide eyed as the robot was preparing to fire its laser at her and annihilate her.

Clark flew toward the robot faster than the eye could see, closing the distance between himself and the robot in under a second, clocking his fist back, Clark struck the robot right in the sensor that acted as its eye and the robot was sent flying out sight, the robot would most likely land in Lake Michigan somewhere.

Clark looked down at his hands, wondering just how powerful he really was, he always knew he was strong, but he had never done something like that before, what was that sensation he felt? That spark? It was hard for him to wrap his head around let alone describe.

In the warehouse Mark had managed to rip the core out of the robot, making it the final robot to be defeated and putting an end to the grueling fight.

The port was in shambles, shipping containers destroyed or knocked over, destroyed cranes, and destroyed or deactivated robots littered the area.

Mark fell on his back inside the warehouse and breathed heavily, the fight had heavily exhausted him and with the fight over he could finally begin to feel just how much damage his body had taken.

Mark could make out a figure floating toward him from the opening in the warehouse, upon closer inspection he found it to be the same person who had helped him fight off the robots.

"Are you alright? If you need me to, I can get you to a hospital." Clark offered

"No, I'll be fine… just gotta sleep it off." Mark groaned as he got back onto his feet.

"Are you sure? You don't look all that fine." Clark said with genuine concern.

"Yeah this should heal relatively fast… I think."

Clark frowned a bit, not totally buying that part but decided to just let it go as the two began to float up out of the warehouse.

"Hey, I don't know who you are, but thanks for the help back there, don't think I would have been able to take on all of those robots by myself without you, and I guess that woman deserves credit too." Mark thanked, even if he still had his questions about this guy and thought that the girl's actions were pretty dumb on her part, unless she had powers he didn't know about.

Clark nodded. "I saw you fighting those robots alone and couldn't just leave you to fend for yourself against overwhelming odds like that."

Mark nodded before looking at the setting sun. "Well I should get going, don't know if I'll ever see you again but if I do I'll owe you for this."

Clark looked at Mark and nodded before preparing to fly away when he and Mark heard a voice call out to them.

"Wait!" Lois called out getting the two's attention.

Both Mark and Clark stop, Mark turning his head to look at her while Clark doesn't glance at her at all.

"Who are you? Both of you." The woman couldn't help but asked.

"Like I said, kinda still figuring that out but uhh hopefully I'll have something soon, look I really need to go but thanks for shutting down the robots." Mark replied before flying off into the city skyline and disappearing.

"And what about you?" Lois asked, turning her attention to the man who she didn't know was actually Clark Kent.

Clark paused for a moment, not saying anything before he flew into the clouds and disappeared.

Lois sighed before she remembered something and her eyes widened with concern and a tinge of fear. "Clark!"

Clark floated in the sky as he pondered the events of the day, there was a lot of strange things that happened today which posed a lot of questions but one question in particular ran louder in his head than anyone else, a question he had asked himself a long time ago but had now bubbled back up to the surface again.

"What am I?" Was all Clark could say before he could hear the sound of Lois calling his name.

He needed to get back to her and play it off, he couldn't tell her, he couldn't tell anyone.

Lois ran as fast as she could back to the Container where Clark had been knocked through, rushing past the knocked out thugs from earlier as she reached the shipping container which was in ruins.

She looked around desperately for Clark but only found his tie. "Oh God… Clark." Lois muttered, her hand going to her mouth as she feared the worse.

However, she turned to the sound of footsteps as she saw Clark stumble from around the corner. Lois could immediately tell that Clark had bruises on his face and other parts of his body from being hit by that robot.

"Clark!" Lois exclaimed, joyful that he was still alive if just a little banged up as she rushed over and hugged him without thinking.

"Clark, I'm so sorry! I should have never lied to you and I should have been upfront with you and Jimmy from the beginning and it's because of me that me and Jimmy almost died and I… I…" Lois trailed off, her face turning into a grim expression as she pulled away from Clark and looked at her hands.

"Lois..? Are you ok? What happened?" Clark asked, concerned about Lois and her sudden grim expression.

"I…I killed someone Clark… one of the smugglers was going to kill Jimmy and I… he talked about me like I was some kind of object… talked about wanting to sell me like I was some kind of piece of Merchandise… but even still I…" Lois said as she stared at her hands and noticed tears falling onto her hands.

And just like that Lois fell to her knees and began sobbing, the reality of the day's events finally hitting her like a freight train.

Clark just kneeled to Lois and hugged her, with her quickly returning the hug and sobbing into Clark's shoulder.

Clark didn't know what Lois had been through, and it made him feel even worse for leaving, had he'd come with, he could have likely prevented all of this from happening.

He could never allow the people he cares about to be put in danger like this again, perhaps it was finally time to do more with his abilities then minor acts of kindness from the shadows, and more importantly, perhaps it was time to finally get answers to questions he's had since he was child.

Mark had gotten home as it started to get dark outside and flew in his room and sat on his bed, pulling off what remained of his bandana which now had a few blood stains on it.

Mark briefly stood up and looked at himself in the mirror, he had a bloody nose and a cut on his head, along with some bruises on his body, but no broken bones or anything crazy, overall he was just very sore.

Mark laid back down on his beds and pondered the day's events, specifically those robots and the man who had helped save him, just who was he? Of course he knew there were more people out there with powers like himself and his father but they were few and far between.

Slowly Mark stopped thinking about it and just figured he'd think about it more tomorrow and before he knew it, he had drifted off into sleep.

In Detroit Michigan, a family was packing their belongings from a house into a moving truck.

"I just don't get it. Why do we need to move? Why can't dad just keep doing what he does here?"

"Because Victor, your dads new job requires us to move to Chicago."

"It's not fair! I have to leave everything behind so he can have his 'career', I have to leave everything I know, my friends, my team, but who am I kidding it's not like he ever cares about me or you and what we think, he can't even be bothered to show up to my game." Victor Stone said as he looked at his mom with a slight scowl on his face.

Victor Stone was a young dark skinned teenager with short black hair and an athletic build.

His mother, Elinore Stone, looked at her son with a sad expression, she too was dark skinned and had shoulder length black hair. "Now you know your father doesn't mean anything by it, he does everything he can to provide for this family, he may not show it but I'm sure he's just as sad to leave as you are." His mother said, trying to comfort her son and prevent him from being upset at his father.

"He's not even here to help us move, just left us to deal with it, like he does with everything." Victor remarked.

As Victor was about to go get some more boxes to put into the truck he saw a car pull up to his next door neighbor's house and instantly knew it was Sharon and her family. Victor looked to his mom for her approval to take a quick break to say his goodbyes and she nodded.

Victor approached the car as three people exited from the car.

The first was a dark skinned man man who appeared to be in his late thirties or early forties with a buzz cut and glasses, the second was a dark skinned boy a couple years younger than him with dreadlocks, and the third was a dark skinned girl who was about the same age as Victor with two pigtails.

Victor approached the three of them with a soft smile as they all went to greet him.

"Hey Victor." The older man greeted extending his hand out as he and Victor shook hands.

"Hello Mr Hawkins, it's good to see you again." Victor greeted as Mr Hawkins nodded.

"It's good to see you too Victor." Mr Hawkins replied with a soft smile.

"I am sad to see you go, but I know that wherever you go you have a bright future ahead of you. I know it may be frustrating to have to leave your home like this but me and Silas go way back, he may not show it, but he's going what he thinks is best for you, and moving is just as sad for him as it is for you." Mr Hawkins said, placing a hand on Victor's shoulder.

"I know…" was all Victor could mutter, deep down he knew his dad cared for him but it was hard to know when his dad was…well his dad.

It was then that the boy with dreadlocks spoke.

"Aw man I don't want you to leave, I needed you to stay so you could teach me how to play football like you."

Victor chuckled. "Well I knew you'd be disappointed Virgil so I got something to make it up to you." he said before running to the moving truck and coming back with a football with a signature on it and handing it to Virgil.

Virgil's eyes lit up with excitement as he stared at the football and the signature on it. "No way.. is this-"

"Yep, a football signed by the legend Calvin Johnson himself." Victor told him with a grin watching as Virgil's face lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Thank you so much Victor! I'll cherish this football for the rest of my life." Virgil said with a wide grin.

Victor then turned his attention to the girl. A sad smile grew on her face as she looked at him.

Mr Hawkins stared at the two before looking at Virgil. "Come on Virgil, let's give Victor and your sister some space.

"Ok!" Virgil said enthusiastically as he began to follow his father, normally he'd tease his sister for having a crush on Victor but he was too ecstatic about getting the signed football to even care.

Victor watched as Mr Hawkins and Virgil walked away before he turned to the girl. He knew he'd have to do this eventually but now that he was here he wasn't sure what to say.

"Sharon I…" he started but Sharon cut him off.

"It's ok Vic, it's not your fault, I just… you and I both wish you could stay." Sharon said, a sad look on her face.

"You'll come visit right? You won't forget about us… about me will you?" Sharon asked pleadingly.

"Of course, I'll visit whenever I can Sharon, I promise." Victor reassured.

"And promise me you'll call and text me everyday ok." She pleaded.

"I will, I will." Victor said, taking both her hands into his gently making her blush slightly.

The two stared at each other for a moment as they leaned into one another.

However before anything could happen Victor spotted something from the corner of his eye making them widen in shock.

"SHARON GET DOWN!" Victor yelled as he tackled Sharon to the ground as something came down from the sky and crashed right on top of Mr Hawkins car.

Caving in the roof and sending glass flying in all directions.

Victor laid on top of Sharon for a moment before he got off of her and checked her for any injuries "are you ok Sharon?" He asked with worry and even a tinge of fear present in his voice.

"I-I think I'm ok Victor." Sharon spoke, clearly shaken up by what had just happened.

"What's going on!" Mr Hawkins said as he and Elinore rushed to the scene and looked at the car and both of their eyes widened in shock.

Sharon and Victor both turned around to see what their parents were looking at only to be equally as stunned as they were.

Laying on top of their car was what looked to be a giant mangled up robot of some sort, there was no indication on where it had come from or how it had gotten there as it simply laid on the remains of the car unmoving.

As the four of them stared in disbelief Virgil came outside to see what it was and when he could only say one word.

"Cool!"

AN: Well, this certainly took a while, I knew my chapters for this fic would probably be long, but this must be the longest chapter I've ever written ever, as I'm typing this author's note I'm 43 pages in so that's something. If you guys like these longer chapters or want them to be shorter, please let me know.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, I really hope I did Mark and Clark meeting and teaming up to fight the robots well, also I hope you guys like some of the seeds I planted in this story for both current and future characters, I have a lot planned for this fic so I'm really looking forward to showing you guys what my plans are soon, I would love to see your guys predictions on certain things and what you think will happen, i'd also like to hear any suggestions any of you may have as well as any criticism, please don't be afraid to criticize me, I've been writing for a little under a year and i'm still nowhere close to perfection and I want to improve with my writing, anything helps.

Now with this out of the way I need to talk about these last couple of episodes because boy oh boy. Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't watched them yet especially the finale.

When I say that those last couple of episodes were peak I mean it from the absolute bottom of my heart, first off the Invincible war was just fantastic and while I did wish we saw just a bit more of some of the Mark variants that doesn't make me any less happy at what we did see. By far one of my favorite invincible episodes, and my favorite Invincible variants have to be Sinister Mark, Mohawk Mark, and Omni Mark. I can't wait for when we get to this part of the fic because I can Guarantee we may get a little more than just alternate invincibles, don't forget Angstrom Levy isn't the only one with the ability to travel throughout the multiverse.

Now lets talk about the conquest fight and that was by far one of the best pieces of fiction ive seen in a long time, I would argue that episode was better than The Penguin as a show and I fucking loved The Penguin, when conquest delivers that line about how he was lonely and the other Viltrumites think he is unstable that truly hit me, to hear an utter monster like conquest talk like that is both sad and terrifying and I fucking love it. And the fight itself was absolutely amazing and I don't want all the people who shit talked the animation to shut the fuck up forever, same goes for the voice acting because Jeffery Dean Morgan was perfect for conquest, and Jeffery Dean Morgan voicing conquest while Steven Yeun voices Invincible is just so poetic.

Overall this season of invincible was a 100/10 for the finale alone, and I absolutely can't wait for season four.

Other than that we recently got the news that My Adventures with Superman is getting a spinoff, My adventures with Green Lantern which will see Jessica Cruz as the main character, as I stated in my last author note I intend to add other DC characters into this fic which I have already done or at the least hinted at to an extent and Jessica Cruz is one of the characters I intended to bring in, it was going to be either her, Kyle Rayner, or both of them, given that I am aiming for a younger Justice League lineup things will be slightly different than the normal Justice League everyone is used to seeing.

And lastly I just want to thank you guys for how fast this fic has grown of course this isn't my first fic or my highest rated, that title goes to threat of the Unknown, but this story has grown was faster than that one did and as of the making of this Author note it has 62 favorites and 67 follows, almost 5000 views, and 33 reviews, this may not seem like much but to me the fact that there are over 60 people who find my story entertaining enough to read and keep up with means a lot to me, thank you guys so much.

Now with that out of the way that is pretty much it, remember to favorite, follow, and review, or even pm me, I yearn for the day I can look at my pms and not see some type of bot. Hopefully I can get future chapters out quicker but no promises as my schedule is an ever-changing mess.

until next time.
