Training

A/N: Hey everyone I hope things are going well for you! I have a lot of creative juices going through my brain right now for this story in particular. I am so grateful for the reviews and criticism. No matter how much you learn, you can truly never stop learning so thank you very much, I will mention that in the comment reviews soon.

But previously we seen Bell and Jaune tell Syr about the grimoire, and how no harm came from reading it. As to the reason why Jaune was able to gain magic, well I may say it down the line further.

I was told that it's better to explain things in the story rather than the author's notes, and I will try to do that going forward, I just need to figure out, when and how to do it.

But onto the reviews.

Midnight49: Thank you for what you said about Sparky, and I am getting better. And honestly I didn't have a lot ideas instead of the confrontation with what happened to Bell in canon. Like how Lili just assumed that Bell was going to betray her. But, I wanted to have Jaune truly show what Lili means to him, and having a deeper relationship.

But let's just say, greed and stupidity will come into play later on from a certain greedy racoon.

Blueassassin996: Stupidity and greed is a strong force so we will see what will happen later.

Blakkneko: Yeah your right, I should have revealed it in the story rather than the author notes. I thought I did something that addressed that Jaune can't unlock aura's of others in that world. I thought I did something in story the older chapters but I got to double check to see what I did wrong.

And about the grimoire thing, I agree that I will explain more of that later on, because like I put it in the story the reason for learning magic seemed too simple of how he read the grimoire. I will try to put it in the story properly.

Honestly I have Jaune and others explain a lot because, I just want to put in more words to make the chapter longer. And honestly felt that the more he said to more emotion he had in that situation. Again I wanted to show what Lili truly meant to him.

And Lili does cry a lot right now, she was like that when she realized that Bell was genuinely her friend, and someone who cared for her. So she is in that process right now. The crying will happen but she will get tougher, she became stronger in canon, but here I want her to be able to fight more, so I hope I can do it justice.

So again thank you all for your reviews, and advice, I will try to incorporate it in my stories, and please continue to call out any grammar issues that I messed up on. Reading and writing was never my strong suit growing up, so I hope this will continue to make it better.

So with all that said, let's go!

Eina walked out of the Loki familia's home thinking of what Loki had told her.

'The Soma familia are only there due to his godly wine. From what she told me about it, only beings like the gods could handle it properly, without getting black out drunk. That is truly dangerous.' Eina thought to herself, approaching the guild.

She went to her desk to see any reports about the Soma familia, and she was seeing a lot of them.

Disappearances, questionable practices, prostitution, rare materials turned in not handled properly, etc. It was truly troublesome and shocking.

She was worried about Bell, and Jaune now. This supporter of theirs could be serious trouble for them. She remembered when Bell lost his knife, that was not a coincidence, or a rookie moment as she thought. That supporter must have taken it!

She seen that he got it back thankfully, but she is still skeptical about this. She needs to at least convince goddess Hestia to make sure Bell and Jaune fire her of being their supporter.

Hours later Jaune and Bell were sitting across from Hestia. They were telling her about Lili, and how they met her. And they want to give her shelter for a little while due to her being bullied by other people, and their adventures with her

Hestia was looking at them in some sadness, and deep thought. She felt truly bad for their supporter but she just can't in good conscious allow this girl in her home. Since she knows now that what this girl is going through, she doesn't know if she can trust her to be around her and her familia.

"Hold on you two, it's just that are you absolutely sure we can trust this girl?" Hestia asked making the two of them stop speaking. "I'm sorry if that came out wrong to you two but it's just that I find her really suspicious." Hestia said to them. This made Jaune and Bell sit up straighter.

"How don't we know that she will not try anything bad with all of you?" Hestia questioned again. Bell and Jaune just stared at each other, and they both nodded, they were going to tell her more about Lili.

"Ok goddess, we need to tell you more about Lili, I want to start with my story first but, Jaune will clear some things up about her too." Bell said to her, he then turned his head towards Jaune. "Is that good for you then Jaune?" Bell asked.

Jaune nodded his head at this.

"Yes it's fine." Jaune said to Bell. He then faced Hestia. "And please be willing to listen and try to understand Hestia. I promise you will see why we want to help her." Jaune said to her. Hestia just looked on in their eyes, and just nodded.

Bell shared his experience with her. How he "lost" his knife, and how Lili was always helping him. But how weird it was with Bell being kind to her besides being an adventurer.

Hestia was about to stop him right there, and make them not see her again.

But, Jaune told her on why Lili acts the way she does. He told her of how her familia takes advantage of her, bullies her, steals from her, beats her, etc. He even told her on how they first met, he stopped a robbery that was happening to her by her own familia mates.

Hestia's eyes widened on how Jaune told her about Lili. How they met when she and Bell went on that date. That Demeter essentially took Jaune on a date, and he confirmed it that Lili was telling the truth since Demeter was with them at the time. He even told her that he met the captain of the Ganesha familia!

"You met the captain of the Ganesha familia?!" Hestia yelled out to Jaune. Jaune just smiled a little sheepishly.

"Yeah I did, but she was just by the area, and she heard people complaining about loud noises, and she went to investigate." Jaune said to her.

This caused Hestia to calm down slightly. So he didn't actively reach out to her, that was good, she didn't want to have her familia to have be in the lime light just yet at least. At least until they get bigger and stronger!

So Jaune continued with his story with Lili. How he reached out a hand a friendship toward her. How she poured her heart out towards him, Demeter and Shakti. And her confessing about her intentions with them. That caused Hestia to stand in rage.

"She wanted to rob you both blind, and you still want to help her?!" Hestia yelled out in anger. A little anger at them, but majority of that with Lili. But Jaune kept going on defending her.

"There's a reason why she wanted to do that to us, and why she has been doing that with other adventurers she has worked under." Jaune said to her keeping his composure. But Bell was looking down feeling guilty of making his goddess angry. Hestia still standing with her fists on her hips.

"Oh yeah, what is her so called good reason, to steal from my children, whom still want to the help her by the way?!" Hestia said to them, making Bell shrink in on himself, due to the anger Hestia was showing, Jaune started to feel it, but he kept going. He just breathed in and exhaled out, collecting his thoughts.

"She is trying to leave her familia." Jaune said to her.

"Eh?" Hestia questioned raising her eyebrow.

Jaune began to explain why Lili was stealing from others. The humongous fee she had to pay just to leave. She constantly had majority of her loot stolen from her. How the people he stopped were her familia. And how bad they treated her, especially with what Canoe did to her then, and earlier today.

Hestia stood their wide eyed at what has been happening to her. She knows the world is cruel, ugly, and unfair, and she was hearing it right here. But to have your own familia to take advantage of you like that is just sickening! What is with that huge fee just to leave, you don't have to really pay a god just to leave usually, probably do something for them. But, she knows about Soma is not really social with anyone, he doesn't come to meetings really, just making wine, but why the huge amount?

"Jaune something doesn't seem right. Soma never really needed all that valis he get's enough with the wine he makes and sells. Did she tell you the reason why for that amount?" Hestia asked him. This made Jaune gain a dark look, and Bell actually looked a little angry. Jaune looked at her, with a rageful yet serious look.

"She said her captain ordered them to pay him, just to get permission to leave." Jaune said with venom.

Hestia's eyes widened at this. This was worse than she thought! Soma was always not caring about the world around him, but this is ridiculous, actively not caring about anything or anyone, and allowing this kind of corruption is just wrong.

Hestia sat down, crossing her arms in deep thought. She did want to help her, but not yet.

"I see, you two really are serious of helping her huh, especially with all that you have told me?" Hestia asked them. They both nodded at this. She was their friend, and they want to help her.

Hestia just sighed at this and looked at them.

"I agree with wanting to help her, but I'm sorry we can't." Hestia said to them. Bell's eyes widened in shock and sadness. And Jaune stood up in anger.

"What?! So we just stand here and do nothing while knowing and seeing someone suffer?!" Jaune yelled out. Hestia wasn't fazed by his outburst because she can understand his anger.

"Jaune, please listen." Hestia said calmly. Jaune just crossed his arms, but still listened. "I do want to help her, truly I do. But, as how our familia is right now, we don't have the proper support for her." Hestia said to him. Jaune sat down but still kept a skeptical look.

"You are both level ones, and it's only the three of us. While the Soma familia out numbers us drastically. I know you are stronger than the regular level 1s Bell, and Jaune. But, there are multiple level 2s, and others who would just throw themselves at you two, until we surrender." Hestia said to him making both Bell and Jaune to really think about this.

"Also, some familia's will go as far as to destroy homes just to prove a point, or to get something that they want, we would be harassed, and if we have any side jobs, they will try anything to break us, I know you two can handle it, but, I still don't want to have that pressure on you two, and who's to say they will use your supporter as leverage against you?" Hestia questioned them.

This caused the two to have widened eyes at that. It is true they would probably use Lili as shield for them, and make them do whatever they want.

"But, that's not to say, that I want to leave her alone, I won't you two to continue to support her, in the dungeon, and make sure she keeps her loot." Hestia said giving them a smile. This caused the two to look at her in surprise.

"I know I said we can't help her, but not yet, let's get stronger, and more able to save this girl, ok?" Hestia said to them with a proud and victorious smile. Jaune and Bell looked at each other with slight shock, but turned to a smile, and a determined look. They looked back at Hestia and nodded.

"You got it/ Right!" Bell and Jaune both said. Hestia smiled at them with pride and happiness. She truly has some of the best children ever in her opinion.

It's been a few days, and they haven't seen much of the Soma familia thankfully. But they still kept an eye out. But right now it was time for training with Ais.

Ais told them to meet her on the east farthest wall at twilight. They came in full gear, they will be going to the dungeon later on anyway. And they have a feeling that this training is going to hurt. They got there about the same time Ais arrived. She even gave a small smile.

"Thank you so much for training us miss Walenstien." Bell thanked her while bowing slightly, Jaune bowed too, just to show some respect. He has some training already thanks to Pyrrha, but the rest is just through experience, while on the road. And some at Haven, but he maybe able to learn something new!

Ais tilted her head a little at Bell.

"Ais is just find, everyone just calls me by my first name anyway." Ais said to Bell. Bell just blushed and shook his head to clear the blush and to get his mind back on track.

"Well ok then, Miss Ais." Bell said still blushing slightly. Jaune just laughed slightly at this. He sees that him and Bell are alike. But Bell decided to get to work.

"So what kind of training do you think we should do anyway?" Bell asked her with much eagerness. Jaune was going to say something but he wanted to see what Ais would say and do.

She just gained a thoughtful look, on her normal neutral expression she always has.

"I thought about it, but I'm not entirely sure what's best for you." Ais said to him still thinking, but she looked at Jaune. "I may have an idea for Jaune, since I seen him fight during monsterphelia, but for you Bell, I don't know yet." Ais said to him.

Bell looked on a little perplexed that Ais was willing to train them, but has no idea what to do. But Jaune, was glad that she figured out something for him so Jaune decided to throw her a bone.

"I have a suggestion for Bell." Jaune said making them both look at him. "I have been training him in the more basic movements, and striking, but, he and I use different weapons usually, he uses a knife, while I use a sword and shield usually." Jaune said to her, giving her an idea.

"May I see your knife for a moment Bell?" Ais asked. Bell pulled out the knife he usually uses in his left hand rather than his right, he didn't want Ais to question about the Hestia knife.

"Do you know any martial arts by any chance?" Ais asked, while getting a feel for his knife.

"Well no not really. Jaune taught a few basic throws that he knew, but nothing in particular." Bell said to her. Jaune nodded at this. True he was teaching him some throws and hand to hand combat, but he is no expert, he was going by what Yang was willing to teach him at the time. He got the basics of punches down, from jabs, crosses, a few uppercuts, but nothing advanced.

"So how do you make your stance?" Ais asked. She started to get into a few poses, which looked a little weird, but Jaune found her funny. Bell decided to step forward.

"Well no, it is more like this-" Bell didn't get a chance to finish, or speak up further. Out of nowhere Ais did a spinning round house kick connecting to Bell's cheek. Bell spun a few times in the air then landing on his back.

Jaune was just shocked of what he seen. Bell was reaching for his knife that Ais was holding, but her instincts must have told her to fight. He looked back at Ais about to question her, but stopped seeing how shocked she was to herself, for her actions.

They both walked over to Bell to make sure he was awake.

Ais knelt down next to him along with Jaune.

"I'm so sorry for that." Ais apologized to him. Bell got up a little too quickly, but sitting.

"No it's ok, I should have paid attention more." Bell said to her. He started coughing at the hit, it took more out of him than he thought.

Ais just waited a little for Bell to get his bearings.

"Do you need a boost Bell?" Jaune asked him. But Bell just said no.

Ais got up and withdrew her sword.

"Alright I want to see what you got." Ais said to him. Bell got scared in having to spar with her with her sword. But she just put it down to the side. This confused them briefly.

But then she took out her scabbard and held it like her sword. Jaune saw what she was doing, she didn't want to hurt him with her sword just yet, if he was higher ranked then she would have used her sword.

Jaune stood to the side nodding to Bell to get ready. He got in his ready stance. He looked more ready and able to fight than when before he and Jaune started training. Ais looked on slightly pleased.

Bell had potential, and he seemed good so far.

"That was an instinctual move." Ais said, making Bell perk up at that. "A reflex you just made. Seeing danger you acted quickly." Ais said to him, giving slight praise. Jaune nodded at that too. In Beacon he didn't have that kind of reflex, until when Pyrrha started to really train him. It came into fruition when he traveled on the road with Ruby, and the rest of his remaining team. He seen Ais stepping closer slightly, giving instruction.

"You will need to be in tune with everything, when you are in a battle." Ais said to Bell giving more instruction, while inching closer toward him.

"If you can do that then you will learn to fight with your reflexes, rather than just thinking on it." Ais said to him.

"She's right Bell." Jaune said to him. "You had felt that first handedly when she kicked you." Jaune said to him, giving a slight smile. Bell just smiled awkwardly at that.

"He is right Bell." Ais said to him this time. Bell gained his curious look back. "If I wanted you dead I would have used my sword or have hit you harder than that. Granted it was an accident, but that meant my instincts for battle is sharp as ever." Ais said to him, giving herself a slight pat on the back, without sounding prideful. Bell just nodded at this.

Ais stepped forward again, giving him another big lesson.

"Your afraid." Ais said. This caused Bell to gasp slightly, surprised that she could read him like that. Jaune doesn't blame him, fighting others is always scary, but they have to do it anyway.

"But I believe that fear is a good thing. It keeps you clear and on guard of almost everything around you." Ais said.

Jaune nodded at this. His fear kept him on his toes back in his world, so it makes sense. But that fear can also shackle you down. His fear of disappointing everyone, including himself, was always his biggest fear. And when that happened with Pyrrha, he went down a dark path, of self-hatred, and jadedness. It's a slippery slope, and it's not easy to come back from, he was so lucky and blessed that he had his friends, Hestia and Bell, to keep him grounded.

"But, there is something else with you. You fear something else, do you?" Ais asked. This made Bell's eyes to go wide, and he flashbacked to the Minotaur who cornered him. He looked down in shame and sadness with how much fear he felt at that moment, and how scared he is still now, despite of all the battles he had so far.

Jaune saw this. He knows that Bell is still afraid of Minotaurs. When Bell had told him about his experience, and how Ais saved his life, he could see the fear on his face when Bell mentioned that monster. He seen it with Ren and Nora with that Nuckelavee. How they weren't in the battle, the mistakes they made, they were in fear of that thing, and they were also deeply angry.

He let Ren come up with a plan to bring it down so he could make the final blow. He seen how much calmer Ren was when he was dealing the final blows, he was able to stave off his fear, and not with his semblance, but with his natural emotions. After that, they were more sure of themselves, and a lot more calmer, it will take time but Bell will get there.

Bell took a breath, and did a down slash on Ais. Ais quickly hit Bell with her sheath sending him away a little.

"Don't lose focus." Ais said to him gently. She quickly zoomed to his side and eventually behind him almost 8 feet away. Jaune was somewhat able to keep up with her, but she almost looked like a blur, but he could see her better now that he is stronger, during the fight in monsterphelia, he could somewhat see a blur and her hair color, but now he could see her whole body, he knows that he has a lot of work to do, both him and Bell.

"And don't allow any blind spots, even the smallest mistake could be dangerous." Ais said to him ready to go again. Bell slowly turned toward her, and got prepared again.

"Now stay let's go!" Ais said thrusting her scabbard into Bell's plated chest. This knocked Bell back a couple feet, him groaning at the impact. Bell then got his bearings and charged at Ais.

He thrusted his knife towards Ais' head trying to stab her. Ais simply evaded each thrust with relative ease. She then went forward swung her sheath a few times, hitting Bells side, knife wielding hand, and the back of his thigh. This caused him to drop to one knee. Ais stood up in a relaxed position.

"Your thrusts are sharp, but lack refinement." Ais said to him. "You lack skill, and strategy. Right now you are lacking a little in both, but I could see something in you that tells me you know what to do, combine them." Ais said giving him her final criticism on his attacks, but giving him slightly praise. She notices for a level 1 he is still pretty good.

Jaune just smirked a little watching them train. Him training Bell in regular thrusts truly did help, but he knows that he wasn't a teacher, it was just the regular thrusts that Pyrrha taught him, and what he remembered on that video she left him. But the monsters they fought didn't really allow him to be able to due thrusts, due to their numbers, and because of Bell's reach.

"Can you still stand?" Ais questioned him, in a firm voice. Bell got up easy slightly shaky.

"Yeah, let's keep going." Bell said with conviction. Ais gave a small smile, glad to see that he still has fight in him.

Bell sprang forward, but briefly paused decided to wait. Ais went with a horizontal swing, Bell ducked down able to dodge it, he smiled briefly, and was about to take her eyes off of her, but he seen, her arm spring back, and raised over his head slightly. She was going for a vertical strike, but Bell shielded it with his knife, stopping her briefly. Bell knocked it away, and was about to give thrust toward her head again.

But Ais quickly gave a dodge and a step back. She thrusted her scabbard into his stomach, causing Bell to gasp due to the blow, and then she struck him on top of his head with a vertical strike.

Bell froze a little grunting and straining a little in his throat and he fell on his stomach. Ais blinked once and looked down in slight concern. Jaune walked over and looked with slight concern too.

"Hold on Bell I got you." Jaune said. His arm glowed a little, and he placed a hand on him. Bell glowed a little and he breathed gently. Bell got knocked out from that blow, but they felt that he would be ok.

"I think we should give Bell a quick break, we can talk about how he should improve on what happened more later." Jaune said to Ais. The girl just nodded at him, agreeing on giving him a break.

In truth she was a little impressed Bell. He took her advice quickly and didn't dive straight on in, he was able to dodge, and block her blows. She was glad that Bell was quick on the uptake, he just needs to train and practice more. While she could literally run circles around him for now since she is such a high level, but in time his speed and technique could work nicely.

Jaune placed Bell on the side where he was standing. And decided to get his training in.

"Alright I want to see what I can improve in." Jaune said taking out Crocea Mors. But he took off the scabbard and placed it away. He doesn't want anyone to know about Crocea Mors mechashift as of yet. Hephaestus wanted to show off her creation for him to the public, so to have less eyes, and people knowing about it the better. He shown Lili it already, her eyes widened at what happened at the time, and he requested her not to share this info, she agreed immediately.

Ais tilted her head a little, she remembers him telling her that he also used a shield so why not?

"Where is your shield?" Ais asked him. Jaune just looked at her with smile.

"I want to work on using something with one handed without my shield on me, I also want to work on using a two handed style of fighting." Jaune said to her. While technically not an entire lie, he did want to get better at fighting without a shield, and he needed to learn how to use two handed better.

"And on top of that, you don't use a shield yourself, so I don't know well you could teach with that." Jaune said to her rubbing the back of his sheepishly.

Ais froze a little at that she knew that he was right. When it came to blades, easy, shields, never used them. That was Garret's thing.

"T-that is true, shields aren't my focus, but I can help you with your sword, so let me see your stance if you had a shield." Ais said to him.

Jaune just nodded and did his regular stance with both his weapons.

Ais nodded at his stance it was strong, and sturdy. He wouldn't be knocked down so easily.

"Good, your stance is strong as what I could see. One of the high rankings in my familia uses a shield so I could at least see a good stance. Your well trained, in your stance, it's a good thing, we can work better with this." Ais said to him approaching him.

"Now I want you to make a stance of how you would see someone with using a one handed blade. Yours looks like it could be both a two hand and one handed." Ais said to him. Jaune nodded. Pyrrha did give him a brief lesson in one handed combat, but no near as much with his sword and shield. So he switched his stance, with his right foot forward like how he did with his basic shield stance.

His sword in front of him, trying to copy something like how some holds a rapier.

"Your stance is good, and your sword arm is good, but it's not meant for a fencing style of combat, like mines." Ais said to him. " Have your foot back up slightly, you want to have your legs flexible and nimble for quick movements. Keep your hips slightly rotated towards me, and relax your shoulders slightly, you are focusing on speed mostly in this kind fighting style." Ais instructed. Jaune felt a little weird doing this, it wasn't his style, but it is something to pick up on if he needs it.

"Also you can somewhat have your shield stance with a one handed style, you will need to keep your free arm out of the fray, so you won't lose it." Ais said. Jaune nodded at that. He will need to try that sometime

Ais took up her scabbard and became prepared.

"Now prepare." Ais said firmly. Ais them zoomed forward, about to thrust at Jaune, but Jaune parried her strike. She was going as fast as Ruby currently, but he trained with Ruby many times to understand the speed. And in Beacon and Haven he seen Weiss fight many times, so he knows a fencer when he sees one. She was being direct with him, just taking it easy, testing the waters though.

He wasn't offended, he was a level 1 and she was a level 5 currently. So she feels she needs to take it easy on him.

Ais' eyes widened at Jaune's parry. She underestimated him, even though he survived monsters even her friends struggled with. True she seen him kill other monsters with the sword she lent him. But those monsters are usually found on the 10th floor so it wasn't hard to kill them.

She was surprised and amazed at first, but she found out that Bell beat a Silver back by himself, even level 1s can kill them if their stats are high enough, and she assumed Jaune was the same way.

She stepped back to look at Jaune, with some surprise.

Jaune just smiled sheepishly, and rubbed the back of his head.

"A friend of mine is about as fast as you right now, and another is a fencer. So I was able to know that you were going for a thrust, I seen my friend do it millions of times, so I saw the pattern." Jaune said to her.

Ais….just raised an eyebrow at this. She was surprised at Jaune's experience sure, again she seen him fight, but not with this kind of experience.

But this is good for her, she doesn't need to go through a lot with the basics, it's time to see what else he could do.

She got into her ready stance again, and she did another thrust, and Jaune was about to block and parry again, but with a quick flick of her wrist, she did a feint.

She went to slice at Jaune's left side, and Jaune was barely able to block it. Crocea Mors hit his side due to the force of Ais. He noticed that she started going harder on him. She was also getting faster?

She went for a horizontal slash at his head, and Jaune went up to block it, but was sloppy. She hit him in his cheek, but he wasn't knocked back like Bell did earlier.

Ais kept up the attack, and Jaune kept trying to block and strike. A few hits were landing on him, but some how he was able to fight back. He went the regular thrust he was taught, and Ais leaped back to avoid it. Jaune decided to do one handed swings on her.

Jaune decided on a Zornhaw slice(A/N: that's the basic slice that Jaune does when he was training on that video, I researched what some of the moves were called, specifically for long swords)

Ais quickly blocked the blow and directed away. Jaune then did a diagonal slash trying to slash Ais from her left shoulder, Ais blocked it easy enough.

He then did a horizontal slash going for her head, Ais then parried the blow, and did a spin kick, hitting Jaune in his stomach, knocking him away. Jaune gasped slightly at Ais' hit, it hurt.

Ais stopped and decided to give her verdict so far.

"You have more skill, and strategy, than Bell." Ais said bluntly. Bell was awake again and watched how Jaune was able to fight back better than he could so far.

"You have enough knowledge so far to not lose focus, and you stay on your toes." Ais gave her praise. Jaune rubbed his head a little.

"But your are still stiff." Ais said to him. Jaune perked up at this.

"Your blows are powerful, but it still needs refinement, and are too straight forward. Smarter opponents could see through it, and will be able to easily get through your blows." Ais said to Jaune.

He just flinched at that. His mind went back to Cinder. She was just toying with him with that whole battle. He trained, but, he was no where near his friends still. They all got stronger than him, no matter how much he trained. He wants to be better dang it!

"Also, I could tell of course this isn't your style really. Your so used to using a shield, it's probably like second nature. But, you have a foundation to work with." Ais said. She then looked at Bell.

"Both of you do. Jaune you just seem to have more experience." Ais said. Jaune nodded at that. He was fighting longer than Bell technically, but, he absorbed combat up like a sponge almost like he does.

"You said you want to practice two hand, show me a stance where you think it would be good." Ais instructed him. Jaune went into his normal stance like how he would with his great sword mode.

"Don't put too much weight on your sword end, that is if your blade has a lot of weight, and reach. While your sword is fairly long, but not long , or heavy enough for that." Ais instructed him.

Jaune adjusted it slightly, which brought his arms a little more up. Ais nodded at this.

"Alright let's go!" Ais said rushing towards Jaune.

Ais did an over head strike, which Jaune blocked. Jaune felt the his boots dig into the stone he is standing on. His arms shaking a little, Ais is very strong and he can't hold out for very long.

Jaune moved to the side, and did his own vertical strike on Ais, she blocked the blow briefly and glided off the blade and hit Jaune in the side. Jaune took the hit and did a zornhaw slash. Ais just dodged, moving backward, but Jaune quickly went for a thrust, almost getting her, but Ais did another diagonal slash hitting the top of Jaune's head.

Jaune just stood there a bit, and rubbed his head painfully.

"We have work to do. You both need more technique, and Jaune you need more speed, with two hands you have a lot of power, but you still lack the speed, it's faster than your one handed strikes, but not enough." Ais said. They both nodded.

In all honesty Ais was impressed with Jaune and Bell, Jaune has skill, but it still needs to be polished. Jaune was able to make her use more force and speed, that truly got her surprised, she needs to know how a level 1 is able to be this strong already. Bell has speed, quick on the uptake, but needs to be more aware of battle currently. But he is quick learner, she needs to know how he gets stronger so quickly.

But, she also feels joy being around them, and training so far, so there is that.

"Both of you let's really get started." Ais said to them. Both of them stood side by side and nodded.

A few days have passed and the training was going smoothly. Bell was able to counter her so far, his awareness had improved greatly. She noticed it, after each time he came out of the dungeon he kept getting stronger and stronger.

Jaune was getting better with his sword. She told him to continue to practice swings, and mix up slices and thrusts, to keep others on their toes. But to much mixing up, can be a pattern, so he was learning how to be faster.

Jaune knew he was never as fast as his friends. Heck even Nora was faster than him, and she used a hammer!

So he will continue to use a two handed style to make himself faster.

He continued with one handed to get a feel of it. He is able to be at least more balanced and able to swing better, due to always using a shield, but now he feels that he can at least take out small fry even easier now without a shield, and not be too sloppy. He even started using his normal stance without his shield, purposely limiting himself to get better. But he noticed something, that he was better with two handed fighting, and fighting with a shield. He knows he isn't ambidextrous like Bell, but he will continue to be better.

As time went on, he noticed something about Ais. She was something else. Even Pyrrha would struggle against her. Pyrrha had technique, but Ais had that in spades, and speed. He was knocked down so often it wasn't even funny.

Bell kept getting knocked due to her kicks.

But Jaune did a few headbutts to do something unexpected. Ais nodded at that. He is tank, so hard hits help. Bell even took up doing more kicks, with martial arts he could handle the blind spots better. Jaune took up some basic kicks he usually did, usually regular front kicks, and spartan kicks. The blows are devastating, so he will continue to train with that.

Lili asked them why they were so beat up before even going in the dungeon. She was even more surprised and concerned for Jaune. All they said was harder training. They even felt pain and strain from some areas.

Jaune said he could heal them, but Bell said no, they need to know what this pain is, to learn where, and what to work on. Jaune agreed. Sure he heals faster than Bell, almost like a small healing factor but, he won't tell.

They stayed on the 10th floor usually, just to get a feel of everything, and because they don't have permission to go even deeper yet.

They even seen Lili still have that hatchet Jaune gave her. But they also seen her with a short sword. She said she felt right using a short sword, and hatchet than other weapons. She even showed them on the first few floors what she has been learning.

She took out a kobold, by stabbing it in it's heart by using he small size as and advantage. She cut a goblin's head in half easily enough. She said she is still working on it. Jaune and Bell said they help her get better.

On the 10th floor. Jaune decided to go two sword style with his great sword mode. He was slicing through orcs with ease. He noticed how much faster he was getting with swinging. He was getting stronger, and he knows that he can and will be stronger than before.

Bell was surrounded by Imp's and sliced the head off of one. Another was coming behind him, and he did a round house kick breaking it's neck. Bell was surprised how well that worked. He tripped a little trying to right himself after the kick. He needed to practice that more. Bell sliced the others in half quickly. Lili was firing off small arrows from he crossbow on her wrist. This caused the monsters to scatter and allowed Bell and Jaune to kill them easily.

"The monsters are getting easier, and easier. Leveling up is going to happen soon, hopefully." Jaune said with a small smile. Bell nodded at this.

"Your right, but, I am wondering though, what are the other ways to level up?" Bell asked out loud.

"Even I don't know how to level up, I heard we had to impress the gods, I guess getting bigger stats helps with that." Lili said to them.

They were leaving the up to the 7th floor, and decided to talk to Lili about her combat.

"Your thrust with your sword is pretty good, but you need to learn how to swing it better along with your hatchet. You have a great start, but I believe you can do it." Jaune said to Lili. Bell nodded in agreement.

"He's right, I can help you in getting faster, I am pretty good with my thrusts, your sword is light, so I can help with that." Bell said to her with a smile.

"Yeah, and I can help you with your chops in both the your sword and hatchet, sound good?" said Jaune giving a smile to her too.

Lili blushed a deep red, at Jaune's smile, and looked away a little.

"I-I-I will like that." Lili said quietly, but Bell and Jaune heard her. Everything was going great so far, but they heard a….scheming voice.

"Heh, heh, I was waiting for all of you." Said the man who tried to Bell a few days ago. Bell and Jaune got into fighting positions. Even Lili pulled out her sword, shaking a little, nervous of actually fighting back against a person. Jaune stood in front of the two a little, instinct kicking in, wanting to protect them.

"Now, your all going to drop your loot, or we will make things ugly for you." The man said in cruel and greedy smile.

All three just raised their brow at that.

"We?" Bell asked out. They heard multiple people laughing, almost 12 people came out. One of them being Canoe. This time smirking cocky smile. He was holding something over his shoulder, it looked like sac but, of what?

They started to get a little closer.

"So, what do you say, what's your move?" The man asked. The three didn't change their look, and readiness to fight, they could handle them.

What they didn't see was red eyes glowing far in the distance of the 7th floor entrance.

Red eyes, with wolf like snout, with what looks like a wolf skull on it.

A/N: Everyone I want to say I am so sorry, this chapter was so much more longer than I thought and I truly milked it terribly. Again when it comes to writing I am not as creative as others, and I didn't want it to seem so lazy, like saying "oh this person can do this now, and she likes him now out of nowhere." So I thought explaining more of the training could make it more interesting, and to make Jaune and Bell not so over powered.

It was hard writing sword strike names and directions.

So if you know what particular blows are please tell me.
