Chapter 1
The stars stretched into lines of light as the Emerald Dawn A customized HWK 290 Light Freighter entered hyperspace. Izuku did one last check to make sure he was still on course to his destination and sighed. After making sure the autopilot was still working his mind turned to the events that led him to this point. He was a Jedi Knight now, not because he passed some trail but because he had assisted with the evacuation of the younglings during the Vong's invasion of Yavin. Even his knighting ceremony was unconventional, normally it was held in the audience chamber of the temple with onlookers, a master reciting the deeds that made you worthy followed by a lightsaber salute. Once they were safely away from Yavin, Jedi Master Kam Solusar simply removed his braid, thanked him for the assistance, and left while Luke gave him his new mission. He was to warn his home world Earth of the impending invasion as scouts seemed to think the Vong were on course to assault the worlds on and around Corellian Run and use it as a staging ground for the next stage of their invasion.
It had been eleven years since he left Earth, and four almost five since his first mission took him to the sol system to deliver high medical grade bacta. He still remembered the day he had left. He had just learned he would not be getting a quirk, his best friend at the time Katsuki Bakugo had taken it upon himself to hurt him whenever he could. One day Izuku intervened when Katsuki was bullying another boy, he saw it as some sort of rebellion from Izuku and decided to teach him a lesson throwing an explosion at him. Izuku could still feel that heat some days. But he wasn't burned when he opened his eyes the explosion had just stopped and disappeared. A man in robes then walked out with a disapproving face.
"Those with power should not use it for a squabble like this." The man spoke up. "You should be protecting those less unfortunate than yourself."
"Who do you think you are freak?" Katsuki yelled.
"I am but a simple man who noticed a disturbance in the air and came to investigate. Now stop me if I'm mistaken, it is illegal to use your powers in such a way without a license yes?" The man pointed out causing Katsuki's friends to step back. "However I believe the saying is kids will be kids, so if you apologize to these boys I think we can all walk away without the need for police."
"Tch, whatever," Katsuki turned to Izuku and the other boy. "I'm sorry you both are so weak, alright let's get out of here." He told his other friends and they left. The boy Izuku was protecting quickly thanked him and ran off as well leaving him with the robed man.
"Th-Thank you, sir, um are you a hero?" Izuku had asked. The man seemed to find something funny as he laughed a bit.
"Some people call me a hero, but I'm just a man who did what he could, similar to you," He paused and nodded. "So that's what brought me here. It's a pleasure to meet you I'm Luke Skywalker Jedi Master of the New Jedi Order."
That was the day Izuku's life had changed. Luke explained how he had felt a strong presence in the force and had come to investigate. He was certain that the presence was Izuku and after meeting his mother Inko and getting her permission to do a test Luke had drawn a bit of blood. He then explained the concept of midichlorians and how they do not necessarily create the force they simply determine how sensitive someone is and how easy or difficult it is to use the force, Similar to a door the lower the count the more shut the door is and the harder it is to use the force and the higher, the more open meaning the person has an easier time with the force. Midichlorians were not the cause of the force just a visual symptom that allowed the Jedi of old to find students. Izukus counts were around his old masters at 13,500.
"I know some old rumors of Jedi forcing families apart might still be floating around ma'am but allow me to assure you that is not the case. The old order had many flaws and I am working to fix them, if you allow young Izuku to come and learn the ways of the Jedi, I promise you will still get to hear from him. I believe that healthy attachment is a key to bringing out one's true potential."Luke had explained.
A beeping from his droid FT-102 a small droid with bipedal legs the size of a small earth dog, pulled Izuku from his reminiscing and he sat up straight checking the console. He was mere minutes away from exiting hyperspace, so he turned off the autopilot and pressed a few controls. The freighter exited hyperspace, and the swirling blue of the stars condensed back into the familiar view of space. Below him was the blue-and-green orb of Earth, as beautiful as he remembered. A few old XQ3 platforms surrounded the planet with a few defense force fighter squadrons stationed on each, FT beeped again.
"What is it Fit? Communications ok, open up comms." Izuku waited as soon as the ding of the communications rang through the air.
"This is Captain Smith of Fire Squadron, please respond." An older male voice spoke up.
"Hello Captian Smith, this is Jedi Knight Izuku Midoriya I come with urgent news about the recent war," Izuku reported.
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line before Captain Smith responded, his voice graver. "Acknowledged, Knight Midoriya. Welcome to Earth. We will need you to dock on Platform Omega it's standard procedure for any incoming traffic. The Hero Commission and Defence Council will want to hear your report."
The docking bay of Platform Omega was a bustling hub of activity, with personnel moving quickly between ships and cargo. As the Emerald Dawn settled onto the landing platform, a hiss of steam and the hum of repulsor lifts filled the air. Izuku took a deep breath before standing, pulling his dark cloak tighter around his shoulders. His lightsaber, hidden beneath the fabric, felt heavier than usual—a reminder of the weight of his mission. Fit beeped in curiosity as Izuku prepared to disembark, the little droid rolling up beside him.
"I'll be fine, Fit," Izuku reassured. "It's likely just a simple scan for illegal substances and a few papers I need to sign. Just run a systems check and stay with the ship." The droid gave a concerned whir but complied, waddling off toward the ship's control panel. As the landing ramp of the Emerald Dawn lowered, revealing the bright lights of Platform Omega's docking bay, Izuku stepped forward, taking in the familiar yet distant sight of Earth's atmosphere. He hadn't been here in nearly five years and hadn't set foot on Earth in eleven.
"Knight Midoriya it's a pleasure to see you again though back then you were just a padawan am I correct?" A strong yet friendly woman stepped forward. Alasin Avery Commander of XQ3 station Amaterasu. She wore a black uniform with a military patch on her left shoulder, her dark violet hair in a bun showing more grey than it had five years ago. Her piercing blue eyes to in his every movement.
"Indeed Madam I wish this reunion were under better circumstances." Izuku bowed an old customary greeting to one of higher rank than you.
Commander Avery's smile faded slightly, replaced by a serious expression as she motioned for Izuku to follow. "Understood, Knight Midoriya. We've been hearing rumors about the Vong, but nothing concrete has reached us. If you're here, that means it's far worse than we thought."
Izuku nodded, keeping pace beside her as they walked through the bustling docking bay. The clamor of engineers, soldiers, and various personnel filled the air. "Yes. The Yuuzhan Vong are unlike anything the galaxy has faced before. They view all as lesser until shown differently, and races that rely on technology greatly infuriate them. I've seen firsthand what they can do, and we believe Earth is in their path. I fear if we don't act soon, it may be too late."
Avery's brow furrowed, and her pace quickened as they approached the security checkpoint. "We've been trying to stay out of galactic conflicts for so long, but if they're heading toward us, that changes things. The Hero Commission and the Defense Council will want to hear every detail." Once they reached the security station, a guard scanned Izuku's lightsaber and other belongings before gesturing them through. As they stepped into the lift that would take them to the upper levels of the platform, Avery glanced at Izuku.
"If I remember correctly you told me you had originally come from Earth, Japan if I am correct?" Avery asked trying to lighten the mood.
"Indeed, I'm from Musutafu Japan. This might be my first time on my homeworld in over eleven years." Izuku looked off through a viewport towards his home.
Commander Avery gave him a sidelong glance. "Musutafu, huh? I've heard it's still mostly kept its traditional look. A strange contrast, considering the tech upgrades all around the city."
Izuku nodded. "Yeah, Musutafu has always been resistant to adopting the same levels of modernization as other cities. They like to maintain the old while incorporating just enough of the new to stay relevant. I wonder if anything's changed since I left."
Avery crossed her arms. "If the Yuuzhan Vong are heading this way, things are bound to change whether they like it or not." Her voice turned grim, and the weight of the situation settled back into the air. The lift came to a gentle stop, and the doors slid open with a soft hiss. Izuku followed Avery through the brightly lit hallways, their footsteps echoing on the polished floor. They eventually reached a rather large office with a viewport overlooking the rest of the station. Avery took her seat at her desk and motioned for Izuku to take the one opposite her to which he took.
"As you know we pride ourselves on our self-sufficient lifestyle and many of our councilors will see you coming here as an attempt to bind them to New Republic politics." Avery typed a few things into her computer.
Izuku leaned forward, his expression serious. "I understand their concerns. Earth has worked hard to maintain its independence, and I'm not here to bring you into New Republic politics. But the Yuuzhan Vong don't care about borders or alliances—they're a threat to every world they encounter. I'm not asking Earth to choose sides in a galactic war, just to prepare for what's coming."
Avery studied him for a moment before nodding. "That's a reasonable stance. You'll have to explain it carefully when you meet with the Hero Commission and Defense Council. They don't take kindly to anything that smells like entanglement with the galaxy's larger powers. It seems like the director of our forces in space would like to speak to you before allowing you to go to the surface." Izuku was stunned he hadn't expected to get one of the council member's attention so soon. A few moments later, the door to the office slid open, and a figure in formal military attire flanked by two soldiers entered. Izuku immediately recognized him—Director Nakamura of the Earth Defense Force. He was an older man, his hair graying at the temples, but his posture and the sharpness in his eyes showed that he hadn't lost a step.
Director Nakamura studied him before speaking up. "Ah so you are the Jedi from Earth, Avery told me about you after your first visit. It seems like you have news on the Vong Invasion Force."
"Yes sir!" Izuku got up and bowed. "It is an honor to meet you I am Jedi Knight Izuku Midoriya, and I was sent to warn you that the Vong seem to be preparing for a strike on the core words, and to do that they…"
"Will likely take to worlds along the Corellian Run, it makes sense it is one of the major hyper lanes. Do you have proof?" Nakamura interjected.
"Proof? Ah yes!" Izuku pulled out a data pad with the recent sightings of Vong scouts. "Here it is all the New Republic and Jedi could discover about the recent sightings." One of the soldiers took the pad from him and scanned it before handing it to Nakamura. The old Veteran ran over the report once and then again his face darkening as he realized what was heading their way. Director Nakamura's eyes narrowed as he studied the datapad a third time, his face reflecting the weight of the information. The silence in the room was thick with tension as the implications of the data sank in.
"This confirms our worst fears," Nakamura said gravely, handing the pad back to Izuku. "The Vong's aggression is real and imminent. Our defenses will need to be strengthened, and we must prepare our people for the possibility of conflict."
"You believe me, sir?" Izuku was shocked he had heard how difficult some council members could be.
Nakamura looked at him and spoke up again. "Boy, I have been a soldier since the reign of the Empire if these scout reports are fake then they are real good fakes. Either way, I can not just sit by and watch as those other fools debate. Avery, give him a Diplomatic Visa under my name." The Commander nodded and started typing. "Knight Midoriya I'll support you as I can but I must warn you some of my colleagues are too set in their ways, I hope you can convince the majority of the younger ones to side with you if you can, then we might just save this world or at least hold out long enough for evacuation or reinforcements."
Izuku felt a glimmer of hope from the old man's declaration. "Of course, I want to do whatever I can to assist."
An ID Chip exited the computer and Avery handed it to him along with a communicator. "You are free to land on Earth Midoriya. Someone will contact you when the council convenes until then rest and catch up with family."
