What ? No no no .
Lee yells at Marie in disbelief for what she just heard from her sister .
Marie : Lee , come on . Don't make it sound worse than it already sounds .
Trying to calm her sister down before May or the neighboor caught wind of their conversation.
Lee : No , I;m not gonna let my sister getting herself into a grooming scandal like why , i thought you are the smart one .
Marie : I'm not being groomed like just let me explained .
Lee : How can you even explain this , you are having a crush on your teacher , like don't tell me it's a girl as well . It would make it even weirder .
Marie : What ? No .
Marie feels weird to even think it like that .
Marie : Look , just hold your horses and let me explain . Just please , i will even show you some pics if it would help calm you down . Just please , you are making me feel worse about this by the minutes.
Lee can tells that Marie is dying bit by bit with every ounce of anger and panic she is pouring out onto her sister for simply telling her secret . Lee let out a long sigh then simply just pulls Marie for long hug , letting all the anger out in silence from the comfort of their presence . Marie also hold on tight , almost burst into tears from all the comotion and the emotions flying in the past minute alone .
Lee : You better have a good explanation or i'm calling the cops .
Marie can feels both the compassion and anger in Lee's low tone voice but rather feels imtimidated under her sister tough love , she braces herself to make her point across the giant cavern of confusion and disbelief. They both break then Lee goes upstair to make sure nobody would be snooping ,even her own mother and youngest sister , to protect Marie as these are moment where she has to make tough choices . Lee closes the door as Marie goes to the far corner where no sound would pierce the floor . She puts two old plastic chairs near by for her and Lee to sit down . Both take their seats , Lee look over to her sister who is steadying her nerves then a big sigh follow with .
Marie : He first started working on campus at the start my sophmore year and at first i simply thought , yeah new teacher ,nothing new but as time goes on he starts to grow on me even when i tried not to think about it . Like he never makes any sort of moves towards anybody but girls after girls start flocking to him . I was like , those girls are stupid but i started to think about it cause , i don't know , like am i stupid ?
Marie struggles a bit so Lee nudges her a bit through softness.
Lee : Love can make anyone stupid .
Marie chuckle a bit .
Marie : Yeah , it was so weird but i feels like he could be the one like i'm not falling head over heels like a cheerleader following the jocks like a lapdog . I'm actually thinking logically on how he would be perfect for me . Kind , smart , somewhat oblivious to the female charm which is quite good after you can tie him down . Also the food he cook , i swear i could smell all the female students wetting themselves after tasting his onion soup in homestead class .
Lee laughs as the story and Marie joins in but a bit lighter.
Marie : Like how can i put it , like he is what i want from a man but i know i can't get him because if i do so , it would destroy his life . Like we all heard creep teachers but what about students ruining teacher lives for things that they haven't thought through yet . Like It breaks me to think about it .
Lee : But does he knows about it ?
The big question .
Marie : No, it's just on me like he has been like he always is . Calm , professional , kind with no clue on how the students are looking at him and it appears the staff are noticing it too . Heard some teachers talking about possibly sending him to universities to calm the students down ,also some of teachers are also getting on the action .
Lee : If he get send off to elsewhere , you lose and the school save itself from a potential scandal . If he stays and you want to be with him , you only need to wait till you graduate , i don't know , go to college near the areas to stay with him .
Marie : I thought about that but it doesn't make it any better if they found out a former student is in a relationship with a teacher , how can that not go bad . And to top it all of , I can't tell him how i feel without the risk of making our student - teacher relationship into a nightmare .
Lee : technically you are an adult , you are 1 year younger than me and im 20 so how about slowly peels him off , you know getting to know him bit by bit . Most likely he hasn't told you everything there is about him .
Marie : I can't get close to him without drawing attention to myself while the other girls and staff have some serious backing behind them . Here i even have some pics of them literally wearing tight skirt suits like lawyers with cleavage on top during his lunch break .
Marie pulls out her phone and shows a long list of both young and old teaching staffs getting close with her teacher ,clearly trying to seduce the poor guy .
Marie : I got super angry but i could'nt tell anyone cause he wasn't bother to do anything about it cause he simply thought they were just being friendly . Like he actually told me that when i talked to him just at class about to end .
Lee can see why Marie was so into this guy , he is cute while looking a bit nerdy in the process , the glasses and simply dress up ,also a beanie .
Lee : Odd clothing choices considering the level of prestige of your school , I thought he was some sort of hipster teaching social science the first moment i saw this but what does he do for the school ?
Marie : First he started as an assistant in computer science , you knowing , checking on the PCs and making sure the students don't do anything stupid with them . You know , i guess it all started from there cause there was quite unusal amount of hand raising that day . Usually students don't even raise their hands to avoid teacher coming down to check on them ,for them to play with the computer but the girls were constantly raising their hands .
Lee makes a slight jap and shoot a snarky glare at Marie when she turns to her . Marie knows what the message is , rolling her eyes .
Marie : No , i didn't raise my hand .
Lee does it again and Marie finally relent.
Marie : OK , ok, i did but not more those reasons . I was trying to go online so i tried to bait him into doing it inadvertantly but he caught me and give me silent waving finger . A slight remark in funny way ,not to attack me , more like " nice trying " kind of things .
Lee chuckle at her sister for doing something stupid only to come out falling in love with the guy who busted her and she can tell from the way she talks about it , she slight details and changes in her tone when trying to recall the emotions of the encounter , how she tried to spite it up a bit in her own way now that her heart is much more , rosy .Lee was about to make her words but a sudden heavy sound of footsteps and lights glaring through the small vent and she knows all to well who that might be , she elbow Marie gives him the look and both sisters immediately get into action , clean their scene up to a T as the steps close in on them , both of them walks step by step , pretending to talk casually as Lee unlocks the door to find her mother has her coat which is quite dirty on her shoulders .
Ma : oh , nice timing , mine putting it in the washer for me , Lee . I need a shower and sleep , just finished a 10h ride and not in the mood to do anything . I brought some burgers from the diner , warm it up if you like it hot and keep it down later , ok , ok .
The pure exhaustion in her voice is palpable so both sisters take their chance and do what their mother ask of them . Marie splits with Lee and headover to Nazz with a couple of pillows and blanket after going through her hygene routine ,putting on her pajama then carries her things across the street to Nazz. Marie can see the light in her long time friend still bright as her parents still keep the living room lights on .
