This is the 41st chapter. I don't own the series of One Piece.
Ordeal of Swamp!
While trying to escape, Nami's group was confronted by Eneru who displayed his fearsome power. Meanwhile, the six search team members became separated and Luffy clashed with the leader of the Shandorian warriors, Wyper. Then Nami's team encountered a deadly new pair of enemies. And after becoming hopelessly lost, Chopper came face-to-face with Sky Punk, Gedatsu.
Upper Yard
While the fight between the Shandorians and the Divine Warriors continued at the Upper Yard, the loud explosion is heard and the Divine Soldiers were knocked out, crashing either to the ground or a tree from that impact. The Shandorians continued to advance while using explosions to take down the Divine Soldiers to look for more Eneru's warriors. But at the ruins, Robin and Leon continued to investigate further after being informed from Sareena that she had to go help the Shandorians, because she felt like she'll have to return the favor by helping them out and taking down the Divine Warriors while warning them about Eneru. They can understand that since she's been staying with the Shandorians for a long while.
"You think Sareena knows where we are?" Robin asks, holding the book while reading it. "She should be here by now since we ventured further without her."
"She can take care of herself, it's not the first time she got into this situation." Leon points out. "Besides, it's Sareena we're talking about, and we all know the Shandorians are no match when it comes to Eneru."
"I guess you're right, but we can't worry about them right now. And if we know Luffy, Chopper, and Zoro, they're probably still lost and got into a crossfire." Robin states.
Leon knows that Robin is making a valid point about the rest of their team, mostly because Luffy and Zoro got themselves lost along with getting into fights between the Divine Warriors and the Shandorians which it's already too late for that part, but Chopper, he'll usually try to run away from a fight and getting himself hopelessly lost. Sareena left in order to help the Shandorians fight against the Divine Warriors while try to warn them about Eneru planning to join the fight.
Robin and Leon are currently looking at the ruins around the jungle, walking on the sky cloud river and looking at the book that contains information about the origins of the ruin.
"A memorial to the city itself." Robin said, looking at the book. "Its descendants built it after the great city fell."
Both Robin and Leon then turned their heads to the memorial lies in ruin that's been built by the Shandorians in centuries, but it's more than that.
"Shandora." Leon muttered. "That's the name of this place."
"Yes, but it's dated 402 S.E., the city was at its peak 1100 years ago, but then it toppled around 800 years ago." Robin agrees, looks at the memorial closely with a serious expression when the flock of Southern Birds flew out of the trees. "That time frame almost perfectly matches the 100 years of history that vanish from the rest of the world. Perhaps this island holds the key, the key to a long-forgotten history that was veiled from the world below."
"You might be right." Leon agrees with a nod when Yama quietly walk towards them since he found his next victims to fight. "And if we're right, this is the map to the Shandora. We might be able to learn more about this lost history if we venture further."
"Agreed." Robin nods when the snap of a twig was heard, caught their attention. "Who's there?"
"Well, aren't you a beautiful young lady." Yama said, then glances at Leon. "And you look like a warrior, just a like a certain lady who did this to me."
"Sounds like Sareena did a number on you." Leon states with a smirk, knew that his friend would encounter someone sooner or later which made Yama to scowl while Robin chuckled.
"Still, are you another one of Eneru's henchmen?" Robin inquires.
"Henchmen?! You had better watch your mouth!" Yama warned her. "I am Yama, Divine Commander in the service of God, Eneru himself."
"And what exactly do you want from me, Divine Commander Yama?" Robin questions again.
"If I can take a guess, that big guy here is looking for a fight." Leon assumes which made Yama smirk since the Gunbreaker is right as he let out a war cry, causing the flock of birds to fly out of the trees and into the sky.
While at the ruins, Chopper looks at Gedatsu with his jaws dropped and bloodshot bulging eyes without realizing he'll be fighting against Eneru's priest. Though, Gedatsu's eyes are rolled back which he couldn't see anything, turning his head to find a reindeer.
"Where did you go?!" Gedatsu shouts, causing Chopper to scream with panic, bulging his eyes and shark-like teeth. 'A consume technique no doubt.'
'His eyes are rolled back in his head...it's really spooky!' Chopper mentally shouts, couldn't move and still staring at Gedatsu, who's still look for him.
Though, the atmosphere is starting to get awkward and it's not getting anywhere since the Divine Soldier had to let him know since Gedatsu rolled his eyes all the way back again.
"Gedatsu, you can't see the enemy with your eyes rolled back like that!"
"So careless!?" Gedatsu exclaims with stunned look, along with his eyes back in its place and his jaws dropped.
'WHAT A DIMWIT!?' Chopper mentally exclaims in shock, dropped his jaws in disbelief as they regained their composures. "An enemy, huh? Oh, I get it now, you must be Eneru's priests."
Gedatsu responds with a growl, while incorrectly crossed his arms that caused him to rub his arms against each other.
'Indeed I am! Let me introduce myself.' Gedatsu mentally thought without saying anything which leaving Chopper confused. 'My name is Gedatsu, priest in the service of almighty Eneru. And I command the Upper Yards Ordeal of the Swamp.'
That left Chopper even more confused, wondering why Gedatsu isn't speaking or introducing himself since he knows that he's Eneru's priest.
"C'mon! Say something, you jerk!" Chopper shouts in annoyance, but the Divine Warrior spares him the trouble as he informed him.
"Gedatsu, he can't hear you unless you start speaking out loud!"
"So careless?!" Gedastu exclaims in shock, placing hands on the side of his head with jaws dropped.
"You don't normally forget that!?" Chopper shouts, annoyed at that as Gedatsu regained his composure and did a pose.
"I'd advise you to watch where you step. See, this entire area is my territory to control." Gedatsu warned him. "All around us are swamp clouds, and once you find yourself trapped by one, there's no hope of escape. The survival rate here is 50%, it's almost tragic. Ordeal of the Swamp!"
"The Swamp?" Chopper repeats, confused.
"Best of luck." Gedatsu said, but starts to sink.
"HEY, YOU'RE SINKING!?" Chopper yelled with bulging eyes, jaws dropped and tongue sticking out, couldn't believe of how stupid and careless Gedatsu is.
"Fool! It has no effect on me! Swamp Cloud: Milky Dial" Gedatsu snapped, using his dials from the bottom of his shoes to get himself out of the swamp clouds while covering the area in clouds, making Chopper shocked when he saw him flying.
"No way!?" Chopper exclaims with his jaws dropped. "He's shooting something out of his feet that makes him fly!"
Then, his expression turns into smile with starry eyes and sparkles around him.
"That's so cool!" Chopper said when purple clouds were coming out from Gedatsu's hands. "Something coming out of his hands."
"One stinkin' bed at raccoon dog is hardly worth my precious time! Take this!" Gedatsu said, making Chopper widen his eyes in dread. "Swamp Cloud Burger"
Gedatsu creates a big blob of swamp cloud as he throws it right at Chopper, who gasps.
"A deadly swamp with the weight of a cloud! Once touched, nothing can survive!" Gedatsu said, but the swamp cloud is heading towards the Divine Warrior.
"Wait! No! Gedatsu! Don't aim it at me! Please! Stop!"
But it's too late, the swamp cloud hits him right in the head and the Divine Soldier tried to get himself out, but it's impossible to get it out and he's starting to suffocate. Chopper is starting to realize about the Ordeal of Swamp and seeing Gedatsu demonstrates how the Swamp Cloud Burger works, it got him shocked with horror.
'He can't escape!' Chopper mentally said, watching the Divine Warrior helplessly trying to move the cloud which passes through. 'I see, it's a cloud! So, if you try to lift it, your hands will pass right through it!'
Watching, the Divine Warrior continued to helplessly move the swamp cloud which made it harder and he's starting to lose conscious.
"The more you struggle to get free, the deeper you're dragged inside of it." Chopper said in terror, seeing the Divine Warrior now lost his consciousness and collapses which made him tremble. 'I have to help him!'
"Here you are, raccoon dog! Swamp Cloud Burger" Gedatsu then conjures another swamp cloud as he throws it down to Chopper.
Chopper screams in panic with bloodshot eyes and shark-like teeth, makes a run for it while dodging the swamp cloud.
"If one of those things hit me, I'll be dead for sure!" Chopper shouts, running to the Divine Soldier as he wraps his legs around with his hooves. "If you're still alive, hang on!"
And with that, Chopper pulls the Divine Warrior out of the swamp cloud and then using a Heavy Point as he slams his hands down to the stomach, forcing him to cough the swamp cloud water out of his mouth as he coughs. Chopper turns back into his original form, sighed with relief.
"Oh good, you're alive." Chopper said happily as the Divine Warrior sat up with a grunt.
"Thank you. You save my life."
Gedatsu then lands on top of the ruin which it got their attention.
"Being saved by the enemy, pathetic." Gedatsu mocks with a scoff, still incorrectly crossed his arms while rubbing against them. "And you call yourself one of the Divine Warriors?! You are not worthy of such a title!"
"How dare you, Gedatsu?! You're gonna pay! I'll never serve you again!"
Though, Gedatsu doesn't seem to care since he did used the Swamp Cloud Burger on him in the first place for demonstration, which made the Divine Warrior enraged. The Divine Warrior then readied his fighting stance since he'll be going against Gedatsu.
"Watch as my Axe Dial drains a life from you!"
While the Divine Warrior lets out a war cry as Chopper readied his fighting stance.
"Yes! We'll team up! And together we'll defeat him!" Chopper shouts with determination, letting out a war cry. "Bring it on! We're not scared of you!"
Gedatsu is amused at that, seeing that the Divine Warrior betrayed him and Chopper is shown some confidence.
"Very well, this one is called Jet Punch" Gedatsu then raise his fist which made his forearm vibrate, disappeared and pulls out a fast punch right at the Divine Warrior in the face, sending him flying and made him crashed into the ruin which made Chopper's face pale with dread and horror. "The lethal Jet Dial launches acceleration with it that allows you to destroy the enemy before it even realizes the fight has begun. It's only really defective as that it also destroys my clothes."
'This...is a priest!?' Chopper mentally exclaims with his jaws dropped and his eyes rolled back, noticing a dying Divine Warrior and a ruin. 'If I don't get out of here right now, I'll end up like that guy!'
When Gedatsu is about to get ready to fight him, Chopper flinched and screams while making a run for his life as he tries to escape from the Ordeal of Swamp.
'I gotta keep my feet off the clouds, the swamp cloud things are everywhere! If I run on top of the ruins only, I can make it into the forest on solid ground!' Chopper mentally said, tried to make it to the ruin when Gedatsu somehow approached in front of him with his arms rubbing against each other instead of crossing them, making the reindeer scream.
"Just where do you think you're running off to, raccoon?" Gedatsu questions, causing Chopper to scowl. "Here's another Jet Punch"
'Rumble Ball: Jumping Point' Chopper bites the Rumble Ball and turns himself into a Jumping Point to leap and dodge the attack, which Gedatsu took notice as he flies up in the air to pursue with his dials from his shoes. 'Rumble Ball lasts for 3 minutes. If I don't escape in that time, I will be killed!'
"So, you have Zoan-type powers." Gedatsu said from behind, earned his attention when he noticed the priest catching up to him. "Too bad! How about another one!?"
"Oh yeah! Heavy Point" Chopper then leans back while turning himself into a muscular human form, dodging the punch.
"Swamp Cloud Burger" Gedatsu then conjures a swamp cloud, throws down to Chopper.
"That again! Guard Point" Chopper then covers his entire body with fur, blocking the swamp cloud.
"Why that insolent little..."
Gedatsu snarls angrily at Chopper's transformation, flies down to go after him.
"Brain Point" Chopper turns back into his original form and holds his hooves up. "Scope"
He begins to concentrate to find the weakness, but Gedatsu is a little far while getting a little closer which made him panicked.
"A weak point! He's gotta have some weak point!" Chopper said, trying to focus. "Anything will do, I need to find a weakness and escape!"
"Jet Punch: Contact" Gedatsu pulls out a fast punch right at Chopper in the fac, sent him crashing down against the ruin with a hard landing as dust appeared. He looks down with his lower lip bit, seeing Chopper knocked out with blood trickling from his head after pulling out the Guard Point.
'Even with my guard up, it's useless...' Chopper mentally thought, lands on the cloud.
While in the ruins, Yama made his first move by swinging his fist which both Leon and Robin were able to dodge, making him punch the ruin instead. This made Robin and Leon scowl at the Divine Commanders brute strength and his carelessness as he turns to them.
"You big oaf! Can't you see you're destroying valuable artifacts!?" Robin yelled.
"Don't you even care about the history of this island?!" Leon adds, but Yama laughed at that since he doesn't seem to care about artifacts.
"You should probably consider yourselves with preserving your own lives instead of this crumbling heap of rubble." Yama mocks which made Robin and Leon snarled as he charges after them. "Punch Mountain"
"Falcons Dive" Sareena leaps off of the tree, delivering a downward kick and slamming Yama down to the ground.
"Sorry, tubby! You'll have to get through me first." Sareena said with a smirk, readied her fighting stance as Yama sat up when he notices a monk in front of him.
"What kept you?" Leon asks playfully with a smirk.
"I've been busy dealing with Divine Warriors while saving Genbo from that tub of lard." Sareena told him without looking at the Gunbreaker. "Seems it isn't enough to take him down."
Yama scowls at the monk, felt like he's been mocked after that first encounter as he stood up angrily.
"Listen, I'll deal with fatty here, you two go on ahead to the ancient city without me." Sareena suggested. "Even if we all head out, he'll pursue and try to kill us. So, I'll stay behind and take care of him."
While Sareena made a valid point about Yama since he does have a tendency to fight and destroy the ruins, both Robin and Leon were worried about her not going with them. Robin and Leon decided not to argue as they ran, leaving Sareena and Yama behind.
"You mocked me and humiliated me for the last time!" Yama snarled. "You even let them get away and took my targets away!"
"Go cry a river, they got more priorities than your so-called fight." Sareena remarked. "The only thing I see is a fat mountain walker who's clumsy and always use brute strength instead of using brain that's the size of a snow pea."
That got Yama really mad and it's the last straw as he readies his fighting stance since he'll be fighting against Sareena.
While somewhere inside of the snake's belly, Luffy kept on searching his way to escape which mostly confused and curious about the ruins while looking for an exit.
"Aah! Seems like a stupid cave goes on forever. No matter how far I walk, I can't find a way out." Luffy complains when his stomach growls. "Oh man, I'm getting hungry. I don't see anything to eat around this place. I wonder what Chopper and the others are up to right now. I hope they're not heading to the City of Gold without me."
Luffy continued to venture his way out, which he doesn't even realize that he's inside of the stomach that has stomach acid.
While back in the ruins, Chopper was having trouble fighting against Gedatsu because of the dials from his feet and elbow along with 'Mantra' that predicted his movements. He's in his Jumping Point, bloodied and beaten, and down to the cloudy ground when Gedatsu slowly approaches, which it got the reindeers attention with a grunt, glances at his feet and found the weakness.
"His feet...That's the...weak spot..." Chopper said with a smirk, weakly chuckled as he tried to stand up which he's still heavily wound. "Walk Point"
Chopper then turns into an adult reindeer, but the blood is dripping down while trying to stand.
'Can I escape? I can't even see straight...' Chopper mentally thought as he slowly tried to make his way to Gedatsu, but he's having a hard time.
"Still think you can win?" Gedatsu asks since he notices the reindeer could barely see and even tried to get to him due to the heavy wounds.
'My legs are shaking at best...the Rumble Ball is about to wear off...' Chopper mentally thought, but his body is turning sideways which he was trying to keep his balance, and the body is at its limit as he collapses down with a heavy pant and his vision went blurry.
He then uses Heavy Point to climb up the ruin, barely. Gedatsu just stands, watching him trying to get him while Chopper reminded himself that now it isn't the time to run because he'll be killed and won't be able to rejoin his crew.
'Alright...it's time to stop running...' Chopper thought, slowly grabbing hold of Gedatsu's foot and tighten his grip. 'You can beat him!'
Gedatsu took notice, trying to move his foot which Chopper kept his grip firm.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Gedatsu snarled, kicks him away which he didn't realize that Chopper took his shoe. "Swamp Cloud Burger"
While Gedatsu conjures a swamp cloud, Chopper makes every last Rumble Ball count by using a Jumping Point while remembering his time as a pirate.
'I'm always the first to run away, so everyone thinks they have to protect me...and I know Ventus wanted me to fight in case things got worse and I know he's counting on me. That's why they can't rely on me...I'm going to raise a pirate flag right here!' Chopper mentally thought with determination, leaps and dodge the swamp cloud while Gedatsu notices him in the air.
"Don't you know when you've lost?! Even the air is my territory to control! You can't escape!" Gedatsu shouts.
'Come on!' Chopper mentally shouts as Gedatsu uses his Milky Dial to fly after him, but it got him spinning and shouting when he finally realizes why he couldn't fly right, seeing that he's missing his shoe.
"Oh no! He took it off! That raccoon dog took my shoe! So careless!" Gedatsu exclaims in shock, trying to fly straight with a grunt. "I'm coming...raccoon dog!"
Chopper is waiting for him to strike as Gedatsu flies closer.
"I'm a monster! I'M STRONG!" Chopper yelled, using Heavy Point while Gedatsu chuckled.
"The weakest beast roars the loudest. One last Jet Punch" Gedatsu then uses his Jet Dial, readying his fist as he delivers a straight jab which Chopper was barely able to dodge, but only grazed him. 'I let myself carried away and nearly lose control of my 'Mantra'.'
'He only grazed me. That was close! Arm Point' Chopper then turns into an Arm Point as he readied his hooves. "I'm alive! My turn! Cloven Cross"
Chopper then delivers a double palm strike right into the center of the chest with the insane amount of force, leaving an imprint of an 'X' and Gedatsu coughs in pain and knocked out. But once the time limit of Rumble Ball is up, Chopper turns back into his original form as he screams in teary eyes and shark-like teeth, falls and lands on top of the ruin.
"FINALLY, I'M ONE OF THOSE PIRATES TOO!" Chopper yelled with his hooves in the air while Gedatsu took a plunge into the swamp clouds, which it got his attention when he notices him sinking. "It looks like he fell into a swamp cloud. Good. Now if would just stay there, you hear me! Don't come up! Just keep on sinking you jerk!"
Then, his foot twitched which made Chopper flinched a bit and watches Gedatsu helpless tried to get himself out of the swamp cloud, making him scream with shark-like teeth.
"He's moving!" Chopper screams with his face pale since he already at his limit, helplessly watches Gedatsu struggle. "He's still alive!"
'I can't believe I've lost to a raccoon dog! Of all the things, I can never let down! And how did I get stuck in my own swamp cloud?! This isn't supposed to happen to me!?' Gedatsu mentally yelled while struggling which made Chopper screams.
"Please, oh please, just stay down!" Chopper yelled. "SINK! SINK!"
'I can escape with the Milky Dial!' Gedatsu mentally thought as use his Milky Dial, which apparently made him sink even faster.
"Wow! He really sank!" Chopper exclaims with bulging eyes and shark-like teeth, couldn't believe how stupid Gedatsu could really be.
"So careless!" Gedatsu shouts in a muffled tone, meaning that Chopper was able to defeat him.
"Did I...I did! I really beat him!" Chopper shouts happily with a laugh, though he won by technicality.
Outside of the Upper Yard
Meanwhile, Aisa was driving a vehicle while trying to get to the Upper Yard, but it made her gasp when her 'Mantra' is activated and hearing of Gedatsu's defeat with his carelessness and stupidity which Chopper was able to beat him.
"Another one of the priests' voices have just disappeared! Something terrible must've happened! This is bad! I have to get to the others!" Aisa said with terrified look when the waver stops and breaks down. "Oh no! Of course, you just had to break down at a time like this, didn't you?! No! Work!"
While trying to get it to work, Aisa turns to the motor by slamming it with her hand.
"I barely know how to ride this thing! How could I fix it?! There's no way!" Aisa whines when a sky-shark swam towards her, which made her gasp with her face pale.
Trying to stay low while looking for it, the sky-shark merges out of the White-White Sea from behind. It got her attention as it opens its mouth, making her scream and quickly jumps away while making the sky-shark bites half of the boat, splashing down and causing the half-eaten boat and her pushed away while she holds on, crying for help. Then, the sound of a horn was heard as Aisa cries for help which it gotten the attention of Pagaya, who's driving a waver, and Conis when they noticed her in trouble and the sky-shark swimming towards the Shandorian.
"Please hurry, father!" Conis said seriously as Paguya nods.
"I'm trying, but I don't know if we'll make it at this speed." Pagaya points out. "I'm about to get it! So, hang on!"
"Right!" Conis replied as Su agrees, and Pagaya driving it faster.
Aisa screams when the sky-shark is about to get closer, but Pagaya and Conis were able to get close enough to get to her.
"Now, Conis!" Pagaya shouts.
"Right!" Conis replied, earned her attention as she extends her hand. "Grab on! Reach out and take my hand!"
And without hesitation, Aisa desperately reaches out her hand and grabs hold of her, causing Conis to pull her into the waver while the sky-shark bites the rest of the waver and swims away. Pagaya and Conis were relieved that they're able to save her from that sky-shark.
"That was a risky move." Pagaya said.
"Don't worry, you're safe now." Conis assures her warmly, who's lying her hand on her lap. "You're a Shandorian child, are you?"
That got her attention as Aisa stood up, putting a brave face while points a Burn Blade of her, but her body trembles.
"You don't have to be afraid, little girl. We're friendly." Conis said.
"I'm not afraid!" Aisa retorted, trying to stay brave. "I'm one of the brave warriors of Shandora! I'm not afraid of you Skypieans!"
Though neither of them was convinced because of her trembling after the attack from the sky-shark, Su decided to get closer to her while rubbing her leg, which made her flinch a little.
"Her name is Su, and she seems to like you quite a bit." Conis told her with a smile, which left Aisa confused as she looks down and sees Su really does take a liking to her, felt relieved. "You can call me Conis."
"I'm Pagaya. Conis' father. Please to meet you, little girl." Pagaya introduces himself politely. "We're very glad you're alright."
"So, can you tell us your name?" Conis suggests.
"Everyone calls me Aisa." Aisa replied, then turns to Pagaya. "Look, I know you just saved me, and I hate to ask anymore favors, but I need to go to the Upper Yard and I was wondering if you would take me."
It got them confused as to why would she want to go to the Upper Yard as she speaks.
"Because right now, there all kinds of people's voices disappearing more and more, it's the truth." Aisa explains tearfully. "I can hear their voices even from very far away, and they're gone."
"Actually, we're already on our way to Upper Yard. So, you can ride with us." Conis said.
"Yeah?" Aisa said, turning to her.
"We're trying to find a pirates from the Blue Sea World, because we thought we should guide them safely out of Skypiea and get them where they need to go." Conis explains.
"You mean all those people on the ship?" Aisa questions which made Conis shocked.
"Yes." Conis answered.
"They're probably still trying to escape from the Upper Yard." Aisa told her which made Conis placed her hands on her shoulders.
"Do you know their ship could be? It's very important." Conis said with a serious look and a question, earned a nod from a Shandorian. "Father!"
"I understand. All we need is for you to lead us there, little one." Pagaya suggests with an agreement.
"Sure." Aisa replied as Pagaya drives the waver to the Upper Yard.
Upper Yard
Back in the ruin, Chopper decided to take a break from a fight against Gedatsu by drinking water since he's finally able to beat him on his own without help.
'I'm finally a pirate! I think instead of looking for the others, I'll just look for the gold. That will shock everybody.' Chopper mentally thought with a suggestion, getting the canteen out of his mouth as he looks around. "That place over there seems like a good spot for a gold to hide. Who knows, maybe the others will end up there too."
While Chopper thought about his crew, some of them are having trouble on their own since the priests and the Shandorians are still fighting. Robin and Leon were still venturing further to the ruins while Sareena fights Yama, Luffy is still inside of the digestion system, Zoro is still lost as usual, and Gan Fall, Nami, Ventus, and Caius are about to go up against the twins who wanted revenge on them for killing Satori.
