Over the course of the following months they get into a routine with Izuku, starting with teaching Izuku about the Pokémon world. Izuku absorbs the information like a sponge. Ingo and Emmet find that taking Izuku in was like bringing in the sun with how bright and cheerful he is. They bring him with them to work everyday not wanting to leave him at home or with a stranger. Izuku, Emmet, and Ingo grew closer, cementing them as a family.
A month in, on a night like any other, after work Ingo and Emmet have dinner with Izuku then spend time together in the living room before bed. Whether it's watching tv, reading together, teaching the Unova language, or just playing with Izuku.
After reading a book to Izuku, Ingo and Emmet saw the time and said, "Time to head to bed Izuku. We have another long day tomorrow." They all go upstairs getting ready for bed, Ingo and Emmet tuck Izuku into bed saying, "Good night little passenger." Ingo and Emmet head off to their rooms before going to bed. Later that night around two in the morning terrified screaming starts. Ingo and Emmet rush out and head to Izuku's room, opening the door to see Izuku still asleep, but tossing, turning, and screaming. They rush over and while grabbing his hands gently say, "You're safe Izuku, it's just a nightmare." They keep repeating this until the screaming stops and Izuku slowly opens his eyes. Izuku looks at Ingo and Emmet as they each sit down on the bed. Before either had a chance to say anything Izuku lunges forward hugging Ingo as he cries his heart out. Izuku gently hugs Izuku while Emmet rubs his back trying to calm him down. They are finally able to get Izuku to calm down after about an hour of constant tears and tissues that they used to wipe his face."I'm sorry," Izuku says while looking down at his lap. Emmet takes one hand while Ingo takes Izuku's other hand before saying, "Izuku, can you look at us, please?" Izuku slowly looks up and Ingo says, "There is nothing for you to be sorry about. Everyone has nightmares, even my brother and I get them. I'm glad we heard so that we can come and wake you up and comfort you." Izuku keeps a hold of their hands pondering over what they said. "Please don't leave," Izuku asks quietly while keeping a tighter grip on Ingo and Emmet's hands. "We're not going to leave this station," Emmet says to Izuku gently. Ingo and Emmet lay down on either side of Izuku cuddling him as he slowly falls asleep smiling. "I don't think I can ever give back Izuku to that world that's hurt him so much," Emmet whispers after a moment making sure Izuku was really asleep. "I agree. We are going to make sure he gets all the love and care that his world refused to give him, we can talk more in the morning," Ingo yawns before falling asleep. Emmet hums a yes before falling asleep as well.
Four months after what Emmet and Ingo call the nightmare incident they are at Gear Station. Izuku is walking ahead of them happily when Izuku accidentally bumps into a man in a business suit who drops some papers to the ground. "Stupid brat, look at what you did," the man yells at Izuku pointing to the papers. "I'm sorry, " Izuku says tearfully while looking up at the man. "Sorry isn't good enough," the man yells at Izuku angrily while raising his hand up.
Ingo and Emmet rush forward to step between the man and Izuku. Ingo picks up the papers looking them over for damage while Emmet says in a steady voice, "Now no reason to fire up your engines, the papers are right here. It was an accident and he said he was sorry." "The papers are undamaged, no reason to derail over this," Ingo adds on handing the papers back to the man. Izuku hides behind Emmet while this goes on. "I'm going to make a complaint to Subway bosses about your stupid brat. Children like him should be kept on a tight leash," the man yells while pointing at Izuku. "Well that's going to be difficult because I am Ingo, a Subway Boss," Ingo says boisterously while his eyes gain a hard glint to them. "I am Emmet, a Subway Boss," Emmet adds on with his smile growing into more of a bearing of fangs. He looks at them in shock before running away as Ingo and Emmet look at him with anger and an dark aura surrounding them. "Thank you," Izuku says while still hiding behind Emmet's leg. "No problem little passenger, that man was just on the wrong track with his blame. We will always protect you Izuku no matter what," Ingo and Emmet say while smiling down at Izuku. Izuku looks up at them in awe before smiling happily and saying, "Okay."
Time flies by after the incident in Gear Station with months going by quickly including Izuku's ninth birthday which was three months after the incident. Ingo and Emmet took the day off to spend time with Izuku on his birthday. They decorate after Izuku was asleep the night before. As they are finishing making breakfast they see Izuku slowly make his way downstairs while rubbing his eyes."Happy Birthday Izuku," Ingo and Emmet say happily. Izuku looks startled for a moment before smiling brightly and replies, " Thank you." They start to eat breakfast before Ingo says," We took the day off to spend your birthday together." "You took the day off to spend time with me on my birthday?" Izuku questions in shock enough to drop his fork. "Yes you deserve to have this day be special and we want to give you that," Ingo replies. Then Emmet asks quietly, "Did your mom ever take your birthday off to celebrate with you?" Izuku shakes his head no while saying, "No she had to work every day and never took a day off work because we needed the money." "Well that is going to change. We are spending the whole day together, taking you to Nimbasa City Amusement Park and shopping for presents." Ingo and Emmet speak together. Izuku's smile grows larger and exclaims boisterously,"Thank you this is going to be the best birthday ever!" They finish up their breakfast and get dressed and ready before heading out. They take the Subway to the amusement park stop. They spend the day between the Big Stadium and the Musical Theater, watching different games and Pokémon performing. After that they take Izuku to get ice cream and go shopping for his presents. Buying him lots of Pokemon figurines, plushies, and posters. Along with some new tracks and trains for his set at home. It's already dark by the time they get back. Izuku is half asleep in Emmet's arms while Ingo carries the bags and unlocks the door. They walk in, setting the bags down before going upstairs to get Izuku ready for bed. As they tuck him in and close the door Izuku mutters while almost asleep, "Goodnight papa and dad." Izuku falls asleep leaving Ingo and Emmet shocked but smiling happily before saying," Goodnight Izuku."
A few weeks after Izuku birthday he is sitting in the train car watching Ingo and Emmet finish battling the challenger using Galvantula and Klinklang. While the challenger uses Stoutland and a Simisage. "Stoutland fire fang. Simisage energy ball," the challenger calls. The stoutland jumps at galvantula with fangs lit ablaze. Simisage launches the energy ball at klinklang. "Klinklang full speed ahead, use thunderbolt," Ingo calls While Emmet yells, " Galvantula dodge keep smiling. Use a thunder wave." Galvantula dodges by jumping to the side as stoutland lands across where it was before launching a thunder wave hitting Stoutland. Klinklang launches a full powered thunderbolt breaking through the energy ball hitting the shocked Simisage. Simisage lands on the field, unable to battle. "Simisage return," challenger calls, recalling it into its Pokéball. Stoutland is still standing but unable to move because of the paralysis. "Galvantula use cross poison," Emmet calls ending the battle as Galvantula hits the paralyzed Stoutland knocking it out.
Everyone recalls their Pokémon but before Ingo and Emmet can say anything Izuku runs up to them after and hugs their legs saying, "Bravo, Mr Ingo and Mr. Emmet you two are perfect two car train when battling." Ingo and Emmet freeze in shock while Izuku, turning towards the challenger, smiles and says, "They won but this is not the end. Your skills are impressive. I'm sure you'll be back to challenge them." The young challenger laughs happily and replies, " I will, this was a lot of fun. Bye, you have an adorable little boy Mr. Ingo and Mr. Emmet." No one has a chance to respond before the challenger leaves the car. Ingo and Emmet snap out of their shock before Emmet picks up Izuku hugging him close. "That was absolutely wonderful Izuku, thank you for the compliment," Emmet says. "Bravo, indeed it's not everyday we get compliments on our wins," Ingo adds on while patting Izuku on the head. "Well you're the best. I want to be just as strong a trainer and Subway Boss when I grow up," Izuku says while smiling at them. "You want to be a Subway boss like us?" Ingo and Emmet ask in shock. "Yeah, that's the track I'm going to be following," Izuku says in determination. Ingo and Emmet look at Izuku and say, "We will support you all the way Izuku if that's the track you want to be on. All aboard ," Ingo replies with Emmet nodding in agreement.
