As Izuku walks into Nacrene City that afternoon after battling three more trainers he's a little tired, with the incubator in his hand looking at all the different art painted on the warehouses of the city.
He heads into the Pokémon Center and walks up to Nurse Joy at the counter asking, "Can you take a look at my Pokémon and this egg Nurse Joy? Also I would like to rent a room." "Of course it will only take a few moments," Nurse Joy says while handing him a key. After dropping off his Pokémon and the Pokémon egg for a check up Izuku heads to his room to set things down while removing his coat and hat. He checks out the notes for Litwick and Joltik he's made. After seeing that he should be ok for the Gym battle in strategy and that this Gym uses two Pokémon he looks up wondering what TMs he can buy for his Pokémon since he has a little spending money after winning against the trainers on the way here. "Izuku Kandó please come to the front desk, your Pokémon are ready," Izuku hears over the intercom system.
Grabbing his bag while putting on his hat and coat, Izuku heads out after locking the door. After reaching the front desk Nurse Joy hands back his Pokéballs before setting down the incubator with the egg saying, " The egg is in perfect health and should be hatching soon." After releasing Joltik who crawls on top of his hat Izuku smiles saying, "Thank you Nurse Joy."
He walks out heading to the Pokémart down the street with its iconic blue roof. Entering, he heads to the supplies picking up a few potions, antidotes, and Pokémon food. Before heading over to the case with the TMs to see what they have. Looking he sees the only one on his list he wants is the TM Endure. After getting a worker's attention to help with the TMs Izuku pays for everything before heading back to his room in the Pokémon Center. Organizing everything he pulls out the TMs using it on Litwick and Joltik. Releasing Litwick and Joltik Izuku asks, " How do you feel any discomfort? Do you think you can use Endure ok?" "The two cheer happily, then Izuku chats with them about different strategies to use against Lenora.
Later that afternoon Izuku walks into the Nacrene Gym straight to the information desk saying, " My name is Izuku Kandó and I'm here for a Gym battle." The worker behind the desk replies, " Oh course just let me contact Lenora so she knows she has a challenger." After a few minutes the man leads Izuku back past a few rooms with different displays to the room with the Gym battlefield.
On one end of the field stood Lenora with a smile with a Lillipup standing on the field already, "Ready for your Gym Battle Izuku." "Full speed ahead to victory," Izuku responds while pointing forward with Joltik jumping down onto the field. "This will be a two vs two Pokémon battle between Gym Leader Lenora and challenger Izuku Kandó.Let the battle begin," The worker says. "Lillipup use Take Down," Lenora calls as Lillipup rushes forward with power. "Joltik use Electroweb follow with Fury Cutter.
Now follow all safety checks," Izuku calls. Joltik launches the Electroweb trapping and shocking the Lillipup who was almost on it before jumping forward and hits it with a Fury Cutter knocking it back. "Hm, you're a lot stronger than I thought. Lillipup use Leer than Retaliate," Lenora says. The Lillipup gets up using Leer causing Joltik to tremble before launching forward with incredible speed.
Right as Lillipup is to hit Joltik Izuku yells, "Joltik, use Endure, then Struggle Bug!" Joltik puts up a defense right as Lillipup hits Joltik before Joltik uses Struggle Bug knocking Lillipup out, while Joltik is barely standing, trembling with effort to stand. "I taught Joltik that move to keep us on track and not have to switch tracks," Izuku says while smiling. "Lillipup is unable to battle, Joltik is the winner.
Lenora, send out your next Pokémon." The worker says as Lenora returns Lillipup to send out Watchog. "Battle between Watchog and Joltik begin," worker raises his hand. "Watchog use Crunch," Lenora calls. Watchog zooms forward before Izuku can respond Baring it fangs glowing with dark energy and biting down on Joltik to receive a power shock in return as Joltik shrieks ," Joltik-tik-tik." Joltik lays on the ground out cold while sparks are racing across Watchog fur. Izuku quickly returns Joltik while looking sadly at the Pokéball. "Joltik is unable to battle Challenger please send out your next Pokémon," Worker calls. " Litwick all aboard," Izuku calls out, sending out Litwick who stands tall staring down Watchog. "Let the battle between Watchog and Litwick begin," worker yells. "Watchog use hypnosis and follow it with crunch," Lenora yells. Watchog unleashes a wave of energy at Litwick.
"Litwick counter hypnosis with Clear Smog and full speed ahead with Ember," Izuku yells.
Litwick releases a smog that covers the whole field stopping the effects of hypnosis. Watchog then rushes forward with fangs bared into the smog just as Litwick launches ember attack hitting Watchog sending it flying back only for it to flinch and electricity course over its body. "Watchog hold in there and use Crunch again," Lenore calls. Watchog rushes forward only to stop in pain as the paralysis takes effect. "Litwick quick use ember again let's not let Joltik down," Izuku calls excitedly realizing that Joltik's last move was a thunderwave. Litwick cries out in acknowledgment before launching a big flame that traps Watchog in a circle of flames. "Huh, your Litwick learned Fire Spin it must really care about Joltik. No matter, Watchog stand strong and try to use Retaliate to break out," Lenora says. "Don't give watchog a chance to change tracks, use Ember repeatedly and knock out that Watchog," Izuku says, pointing forward.
Watchog starts charging forward only to be knocked back by embers and being stopped by paralysis again taking more damage from ember and fire spin. Only to charge forward again and breaks through the fire spin with retaliate only to stop and pant afterwards. Litwick launches one last ember sending Watchog flying and knockout on the ground. Litwick panting hard after using so many attacks.
"Watchog is unable to battle Litwick and Izuku are the winners," worker raises his hand. "Well done Izuku you and your Pokémon deserve this badge," Lenora says while handing Izuku the badge which he gladly accepts saying," Thank you but I need to leave this station to get my Pokémon to the Pokémon Center." Izuku rushes out heading to the Pokémon Center as quickly as possible. After running in and telling Nurse Joy he just finished a Gym Battle she takes both of his Pokémon to get healed.
Sitting down in a chair, Izuku waits for his Pokémon. After thirty minutes Nurse Joy calls him up saying, " Your Pokémon are all healed, no lasting damage. I hope you have a good day." Izuku thanks her before heading to his room, releasing both Litwick and Joltik. "You two did amazing and got the badge today, so tomorrow we are taking the day off. We will relax, walk around town, see the art and even visit the museum. Does that sound good?" Izuku tells them while gently petting them, both cry happily nuzzling him. They stay in their room and relax the rest of the evening only leaving for dinner before going to bed.
