After several hours of trekking through the dense forest, Ash and his companions stopped in a small clearing. The sun filtered through the canopy, casting dappled light on the ground where they settled to eat a quick lunch.

"This should be safe," Ash said, looking around cautiously. May nodded, grateful for the break, and sat down to rest her tired feet. Ash walked over to her, concern etched on his face. May glanced up at him, sensing his unease.

"Something wrong?" she asked as he rested a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"Just looking out for my girl," Ash replied with a soft smile. May's lips curved into a small smile.

"You're sweet."

"I try," Ash said modestly. He then reached for the canteen hanging from his belt. "We don't have much water left, but there's enough for a sip." He handed it to her.

"Thanks. I don't need a lot," May said, accepting the canteen. She took a small sip, then another. Suddenly, she winced and held her head in her hands.

"May, what's wrong?" N asked, his voice tinged with concern.

"Transferred pain... Kyurem is hurting," she murmured, her voice strained.

"How bad?" Ash looked at her worriedly. May closed her eyes, trying to gauge the pain.

"Not like last time... If I had to guess, they found one of the totems... but it's not Reshiram's."

"Then we still have time," N said, his tone reassuring. May panted lightly, the pain starting to subside.

"I just... need a minute to let it pass." Zinnia tapped her foot impatiently nearby. May clutched Ash's hand, focusing on her breathing. He held her hand tightly.

"Easy..." Ash murmured, his voice a soothing presence. Taking deep breaths, May felt the pain finally begin to fade.

"I'm fine... Just tell me something interesting for a minute," she requested, hoping to distract herself.

"Something interesting?" Ash repeated, trying to think quickly. May nodded, squeezing his hand as another wave of pain hit her. "Uh... Interesting. Got it..." Ash said, searching for a topic. "Glaceon is certainly starting to take after you. I mean... Have you seen her and Pikachu?"

"Sometimes. Why, what've you seen?" May chuckled softly.

"A mini you, that's what," Ash said with a grin. May laughed softly.

"And now Pikachu knows what it's like to deal with me?" Ash nudged her playfully.

"Do you want agreement or the truth?" he teased.

"Ouch..." May said, giving him a mock hurt look.

"I looooooove yooooou," Ash sang, drawing out the words.

"I love you too, my Aura Boy," May replied, leaning in to kiss him. Their lips met, the kiss a brief respite from their worries. Ash moaned softly, matching May's quiet sounds. When she finally pulled away, the last of the pain had faded. "Thanks, honey," she whispered. Ash smiled, though there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. "We need to keep moving," May said, getting to her feet. Zinnia immediately began walking, her impatience evident. N nodded in agreement and followed. May held Ash's hand as they trailed behind. As they walked, Ash glanced at May, his eyes filled with concern.

"You okay?" he asked gently.

"The pain has faded for now..." May nodded, offering a small smile.

"Good," Ash said, relief evident in his voice. May looked up at him, gratitude shining in her eyes.

"Thank you for helping me through it." Ash nodded, squeezing her hand in response. She smiled softly, her eyes twinkling with affection. "I knew I'd need you on this trip..." she said, squeezing his hand again for emphasis.

"Heh..." Ash chuckled softly.

Soon, after the sun had set for the day, the group found themselves pushing through dense overgrowth. The twilight made the forest seem even more mystical.

"This is it," N said, parting some thick vines to reveal their destination. Ash looked up and saw a worn but refined monastery, its ancient architecture standing proudly despite the ravages of time.

"Wow," he breathed. May stepped forward, her eyes widening.

"You're right. I can feel a lot of latent power in this place..."

"As you ought to," Zinnia remarked, her tone carrying a hint of reverence. N pointed towards the heart of the structure.

"If you head to the center altar, you should find enough power to make the connection." May nodded, determination in her eyes, and headed towards the central hall. Ash followed closely, his eyes scanning the surroundings, ever watchful. Inside the central hall, May walked over to a large spiral pattern etched into the floor. She sat in the center of the spiral, her posture straight and calm.

"This was built on top of his birthplace..." Zinnia's voice echoed in the quiet hall.

"He was born here...?" May asked, awe in her voice.

"That's what I said," Zinnia confirmed.

"Wow..." May murmured, her eyes reflecting the ancient wisdom of the place. Ash remained silent, sensing the gravity of the moment. He watched as May took a deep breath and closed her eyes, focusing her energy.

"Be careful…" he silently prayed for her. She reached out, seeking a connection with Kyurem. The air around them seemed to hum with energy, the latent power of the monastery awakening in response to May's call. May's heart reached out across the void, seeking Kyurem. In the silence of the ancient monastery, the connection began to form. She could feel Kyurem's presence, weak and frail.

"Kyurem, if you can hear me, please say something..." May whispered, her voice filled with desperation. Kyurem remained still, his immense form barely stirring. "Kyurem..." she called again, her heart aching. A faint, tired voice responded.

"May..."

"I'm so sorry I got you into this mess... but I promise I'm going to get you out of it. Please, if you know, tell me where Reshiram's totem is."

"Reshiram... Totem..?" Kyurem's voice was a mere whisper.

"Yes," May urged. "The last remnants of your mother... I can use that power to save you."

"Mother..." Kyurem echoed, his voice filled with a deep, ancient sorrow.

"Please... if you know where those remnants are, tell me," May pleaded, her voice breaking with emotion. Kyurem shut his eyes, searching his ancient memories. May held her breath, praying for an answer. The connection deepened, and a vision began to form in her mind. She took a deep breath, focusing on the images that emerged. A vast desert came into view, its sands stretching endlessly under a scorching sun. In the distance, an enormous Kyurem skull was mounted on a pike, an eerie marker in the barren landscape.

"Mother..."

"I see it..." May whispered, her mind capturing every detail of the vision. The location was clear now. "Thank you, Kyurem," she said softly as the vision faded. Exhausted, Kyurem fell into a deep sleep. May could still feel his presence, but it was faint and distant. "Just hang in there... I'll save you, I promise," she vowed, her voice filled with determination. She opened her eyes and looked at Ash, who had been watching over her protectively.

"You ok…?" he asked. She faced him and nodded.

"I know where we need to go," she said, her voice steady despite the gravity of their mission.

"Where?" N asked, his curiosity piqued.

"A desert," May replied. "There's a cave at the base of a nearby mountain."

"Dangerously close to her territory..." Zinnia frowned.

"Her territory?" May echoed, concern evident in her voice.

"Her main stronghold is a place called Relic Castle. An entire castle hidden under the sand." N explained.

"Then how is it possible she never found it?" May wondered.

"It's most likely protected," Zinnia suggested.

"Kyurem must have put some kind of special protection over it," N added.

"Buys us some time at least..." Ash nodded thoughtfully.

"We still have to hurry. He's so weak…" May said, her voice trembling with urgency.

"Then it's time your training began properly." Zinnia straightened, a steely resolve in her eyes.

"I agree." May nodded in agreement.

"We'll have to try and do it en route," N suggested, practicality in his tone.

"I respectfully disagree," Zinnia countered. "May needs to master at least the basics of all four magics in record time, and as of now, she can't even conjure one. The best place to train is here, in Kyurem's birthplace."

"We can't run the risk of Iris finding that totem," N argued.

"And we don't stand a chance at stopping her without more preparation, something we can't get as efficiently on the road," Zinnia replied firmly. May looked down, her mind racing as she considered their options. Ash stepped closer, his voice gentle.

"I don't want to see you getting hurt again..."

"Unfortunately, we run that risk either way... Iris or the totem," May said, her eyes meeting his.

"I feel more comfortable following Zinnia's idea," Ash admitted.

"That's a first." Zinnia raised an eyebrow.

"Indeed it is," N agreed, slightly amused.

"My two cents..." Ash shrugged. May took a deep breath.

"...Alright. We'll stay here to train for a bit."

"...Very well." N sighed. Ash leaned in and kissed May's cheek. "We should at least rest for tonight here. No sense tiring ourselves out for the night." Ash saw May yawn and smiled.

"I think she agrees."

"Yeah..." May nodded, exhaustion creeping into her voice. Ash kissed her cheek again, feeling the tension ease slightly.

"Let's crash."

"All for it," May agreed, getting up off the ground.

"I'll trust you to find the comfy place," Ash teased.

"Can do," May said with a small smile.

"Great," Ash said, watching as May ran off to find a suitable spot. He followed behind as May jumped into a tree, her eyes scanning the surroundings.

"Bingo!" she exclaimed.

"Hm?"

"This way!" May called, bounding off into the underbrush. Ash followed her, watching as she leaped into a patch of grass, plush with leaves and flowers.

"Ever the naturalist, eh?" he teased, catching up to her.

"Beats stone floors," May replied with a smile, laying on her back.

"Fair enough," Ash agreed, lying down beside her. May snuggled into his side, feeling his warmth against her. Ash chuckled softly, wrapping an arm around her. May tenderly kissed his cheek, making him blush.

"I love you so much," she whispered.

"I love you too," Ash replied, his voice sincere.

"Tell me the first thing you want to do when we get home," May asked, looking up at him.

"Plan a proper honeymoon location," Ash said thoughtfully.

"I like it so far..." May smiled.

"And place a do not disturb sign on our door," Ash added with a grin. May's smile widened.

"I hope there's a strict no clothes policy in such a room."

"It's implied..." Ash blushed softly.

"I am a very strict rule follower, you know..." she teased, stroking his chest. Ash shuddered under her touch.

"Liar."

"I'd never lie to you, my love..." May whispered, moving her hand down his chest.

"Uh huh," Ash replied, smiling back at her. May kissed him lovingly, and Ash kissed her back with equal fervor. Her hand stroked his waist as she invaded his mouth, their tongues battling passionately. Ash moaned loudly, and May moaned back, her hand finding his pantline. He ran his hand along her skirt, feeling the fabric beneath his fingers. She moaned loudly and pressed closer to him as he tugged her skirt down. May unlooped his belt, her fingers deft and eager. Ash moaned loudly, their breaths mingling in the cool night air. She finally pulled away for air, keeping her hand at his waist. Ash shuddered, looking into her eyes.

"You know... I never did get a chance to thank you for saving me..."

"Your smile is enough," Ash said, blushing.

"Not for me though..." May replied, smiling softly.

"May..." Ash murmured.

"Hm?" she asked, her eyes locked onto his.

"You're too good to me..." Ash said, his voice filled with emotion.

"Well, you know..." May stroked his waist gently. "I know you pretty well and all..."

"Yeah, you do." Ash smiled, pulling her closer. They lay together in the soft grass, their love for one another pushing them to continue their hungry actions. For a moment, the weight of their mission was lifted, and they found solace in each other's arms
