So in coming up with the character of Maxwell I struck on a few themes I realized I should get back to...That Maxwell getting a job among the humans and presumably living on 'the human side of town' was a mutant who integrated fully into human society rather than staying in Forest because as established earlier Forest was not meant to be a permanent home for the new Mutant Animal Population but rather a 'safe space' (And I loathe having to use that term) where Mutant Animals whom have trauma with humans can safely flit in and out of the interact with humans on their terms however the Turtles were not anticipating the enchanted forest to become so popular with most mutants causing as many mutants as possible to cram in causing overcrowding obviously the Turtles may have to think about how it's just impractical for giant mutant pachyderms to be able to live in a standard New York apartment but for most 'middle-of-the-road' mutants like Maxwell they can adapt reasonably well to big city life like the Turtles themselves have

Leo quickly grabbed the remote to turn on the news…

"A gruesome murder in broad daylight!" Said the news anchor "This afternoon at 3:15, Maxwell a Mutant Berkshire Pig was shot in the back by a masked human while he was carrying groceries…"
The security footage showed a human man concealed by a ski mask, whips out a pistol and shot the mutant pig in the back three times, as Maxwell collapsed, three apples spilled out of his grocery bag and several nearby human pedestrians fled screaming!

Leo turned and looked at Mikey. He could see his orange-banded brother in one of his rare deadly serious moods as Leo could see Mikey's fists were tightly clenched watching this.

Leo realized since that pig was a chef at Mikey's favorite pizza parlor, his baby brother had just lost a friend!

The news footage showed two other masked men jump out of a nearby van and help the gunman load Maxwell's body into the van, while most of the human onlookers could only stare helplessly and scream!

Leo realized if Mikey had been there at the scene of the crime the scumbags at least wouldn't have been able to get away with Maxwell's body! This was the Turtle who relentlessly pursued the Purple Dragons over stolen toys meant for orphans! The Jokester could be a bulldog when he wanted to be!

"If you or anyone you know has any information about these mysterious assailants…" Said the news anchor woman "...Please call this tipline…"
"Man…" Mikey sighed as he rubbed his temples "...And to think when we were kids I thought America's Most Wanted was entertainment!"

Mikey probably scared himself whenever his sneaked some America's Most Wanted and made it hard for his brothers to sleep for weeks after! But I think the story needed this to really hit home how dangerous these hunters are
