Harry Potter: The Missing Keys

Final chapter of my Harry Potter story, a short little epilogue to tie off loose ends, enjoy.

BTW, I made a mistake in the last chapter with the name of the woman who attacked Professor Bennett, the name given in this chapter is the correct one.

Reviews:

Boris Yeltsin: Thanks and yes he is, in fact he is the Dark Wizard but more importantly, we've heard this before, earlier in this series as you'll recall...especially in The Soulmate Bond.
Wolfgirl2013: Thanks :)

Now onto the story.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or its characters.

Chapter 18

The five of them walked in silence, they had been healed of their injuries but had not had time to change out of their ripped clothing. But that was the least of their concerns right now as they still were in shock from witnessing the death of Thaddeus. Still they did as requested by Professor Bennett and, now done in the Hospital Wing, they headed for Professor Dumbledore's office. They all wondered what he'd have to say about their little 'excursion'. But those thoughts were put on pause just as they were about to knock on the door.

"Wait." Jamie said quietly. "Listen."

They paused and then did so, noting that it sounded like Professor Dumbledore was talking to someone.

"Jane confirmed it." He was saying. "This medallion was worn by Thaddeus, just like Solomon and that woman Adelaide who attacked her."

"As well as Ezekiel and Angelo...presumably others too." A voice replied. "So...they are back it seems."

There was a moment of silence before Dumbledore sighed. "I fear so."

Jamie bit his lip, that second voice, it was certainly very, very familiar.

"Well, I just hope the Pact stands...I'll be in touch Albus, please, take care."

"You as well, my old friend." Professor Dumbledore replied softly.

There was a pause before the group collected themselves and knocked on the door.

Being ushered in they entered and saw the flames of Professor Dumbledore's fireplace turning back to their normal colour, having been originally green. Since they had not heard anyone leaving via Floo it seemed the person had been simply communicating that way, with just their head being used.

"Ah welcome, I am glad to see you are well...physically at least." Professor Dumbledore greeted them gently. "I can only imagine this ordeal has been hard on all of you...you especially Miss Howells?"

Jennifer bit her lip but nodded. "I...I will be alright Professor, thank you."

Professor Dumbledore observed her closely for a moment but nodded.

"Very well...Do not worry about your friends belongings." He said, pointing at the necklaces laid out on his desk. "I will ensure they are returned to their proper owners. I wish it did not have to come to this, but nonetheless allow me to express gratitude to you all for your bravery in tackling this issue."

They all shared hopeful smiles at that and Dumbledore nodded.

"You do not understand just how serious this situation is...not yet. But there may come a time when you will. When that time comes, rest assured, you will learn the whole story. For now, suffiice to say you stopped a grave threat from coming to fruition." Professor Dumbledore explained. "You need to understand that it is very important that this is kept out of the wrong hands…"

He directed their attention to what appeared to be an ordinary wooden box on his desk.

He shook his head. "So please, do not speak of this to anyone yet...with the exception of Mr. Lee, Miss Egebe, Mr. Iwashiro and Miss Luna...they already know."

This startled them but they agreed and, after making sure things were okay, he allowed them to leave.

The rest of the school year, a few days, passed by in a haze with things returning to mostly normal, the four refugees who had the necklaces stolen were overjoyed to have them returned and Pixie remained in a sour mood for the whole rest of the year, especially during the end of year feast where it was revealed that Slytherin won the House Cup too. It was a sombre farewell to the refugee students who would be staying in Hogsmeade, but they all held on to hope, looking forward to seeing each other again next year as the main four headed home, Jamie in a much better place than when he had started and them all having hopes that whatever the next year would bring, they would face it together, with the new friendships they had formed with those from the other schools.

End of chapter and of story, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
