Chapter 21: A Day with Friends
- Silas -
I woke up the next day, surrounded by Lavy and Shuna on both my sides. Last night's party went on longer than I had expected.
Towards the end, several people got drunk and wild.
Rimuru had to carry Shizuka-san away with him because she was too drunk. He took her to Tempest, much to the chagrin of Shion who looked like she had an obvious crush on Rimuru… and he calls me a harem protagonist. It was funny to watch.
At least before I was jumped on by Lucoa who had gone into an old pervert mode after being drunk.
I had never felt so confused in my life about whether to be scared or aroused by what was happening to me. Thankfully, Tohru pulled her back. Even Fafnir helped.
We didn't let her go out in that drunk state. Who knows what might happen if she decided to move the moon in her world or something? Just thinking of that made me shake my head in shock. It was decided that she and Tohru would stay in the Restaurant for the day as I can control her if she has any outbursts in the Restaurant.
She had even tried to make Milim drunk, something which I had fortunately discovered in time and prevented.
One drunk dragon was enough for me. I didn't have the patience or mental capacity to handle a drunken dragonoid on top of that.
Sasaki-san from Ryozanpaku had drunk too much too and was carried away by Akisame-san after he was knocked out by Hayato-san. The old man however said he would be fine.
The most surprising one to drink was Yoruichi. Since when did cats drink? But then again, cats couldn't talk either and yet there we were…
Not everyone was dead drunk though.
Shoko-san who was drinking with those two however was unbothered. She could really hold her liquor well. She was actually talking with Fafnir about Curses while teaching him about games in exchange.
I felt both pride and pity for the fearsome dragon…
Unlike normal, both the girls were in deep sleep and I didn't have the heart to wake them up so I kissed their foreheads and slid out of the bed carefully without waking them up.
I stretched a bit before going down.
Last night the maids and Cid-kun's friends had cleaned the place quite nicely so I only needed to get everything ready for today.
A few minutes later, Sakura entered the kitchen too.
"Good Morning."
"Good morning, Silas-san."
"You are up early. You were tired. You could have slept late, you know?"
"I am okay."
"Did you sleep well? Tohru and Lucoa took your room last night…"
"Hmm, Orihime and I shared the bed. She is a good girl."
They are of similar ages and got along quite well.
While Sakura was quiet, Orihime's naturally bubbly character helped her get closer to Sakura just like Lavy had.
The moment was a bit silent as Sakura helped around the kitchen and I couldn't help but remember yesterday's dance.
And with that I remembered another thing.
The System Update.
But first things first, I quickly whipped up a breakfast.
We had more than enough leftovers and they could stay fresh for an unlimited time. I just made something extra to go with them.
By that time, others woke up one by one.
Shuna was the first and quickly came down and helped serve the breakfast while I checked the System Updates more carefully.
Even Tohru came down soon.
"Good morning, boss." She greeted me as she yawned lightly.
"Good morning. Is Miss Lucoa still asleep?" I asked, looking up.
"Oh yes. She is completely out. She doesn't have a good history with alcohol and she drank a bit too much last night."
"Hmm, I realised that too. She was holding her drink normally before that so I didn't know." I said thinking of how she normally drank. "Maybe last night's alcohol was too strong?" I said thoughtfully.
"Maybe."
"Well, let her sleep." She cannot cause any damage in the Restaurant either way so it's for the best that she stayed here.
A while later, even the two maids came in.
Everyone was here so I decided to announce the changes in the Restaurant. "Since everyone is here, I have an announcement to make. We are going to have some changes in the Restaurant starting today."
"Oh, what changes, Boss?" Tohru asked while the other girls looked at me curiously.
"First things first…" I added them to the employee list and looked at them. "Do you guys feel anything different?" I asked.
They didn't have any reaction and shook their heads.
"I have applied the protection of the Restaurant on all of you. From now on, you all have the same protection as me in the Restaurant, which means you can use the Restaurant's power to kick out any troublemakers."
This function greatly reassured me. Initially, only I was fully protected by the Restaurant. Others could still be harmed. It was not something I knew at first and only realised after a certain incident.
When Kisuke-san had destroyed the finger curse of Sukuna with his spell, Gojo-san had later pointed out that technically that was a life and since he did die that meant the protection of the Restaurant wasn't applied to it.
Obviously I could stop anything from happening inside the Restaurant but I wasn't omnipotent. I could miss things and I didn't want to take such risks with my staff. That's why I felt as if a load was off of my chest after this. With this, all my staff will be protected with me.
"I hope you will use this ability wisely. Don't just start kicking people out if you find them annoying. Patience is key to the service industry. As long as they don't break the rules of the Restaurant, they will be treated as any other customer even if you find them annoying."
These were some things my father had taught me when I was a kid.
I had picked a fight with a customer who was a bit rude and punched them in the face…
That had obviously caused a huge mess for my father's restaurant and had taken a lot of effort to calm down.
I had felt guilty after that when I realised what my momentary impulsiveness had caused them… and dad was more than just disappointed.
What came next was a several hours long lecture from my father and then two year long training to get me used to the service industry in Japan.
In that time, I had encountered several types of people. Some were rude, some just seemed rude because of how they behaved but were only introverted.
Some might seem nice but were creeps.
How and when to deal with them was all drilled into me in my time of working under my dad. It was both hard and memorable, and something I had come to appreciate even more now that I run a Restaurant of my own.
Especially in my case as the people I deal with now are… not exactly normal. That's why it was even more necessary that the staff of my Restaurant know how to deal with the guests who arrive here.
The two maids nodded carefully while Tohru was happy, the wagging tail making her happiness evident.
I still need to find some people to help in the kitchen.
With the number of guests increasing, I alone couldn't do everything at times. Having at least one or two extra people help out would help a lot.
This is something I had talked about with Setsuno-san and she was kind enough to point out several things to me.
Even Nakiri-san and his family listened and they invited us to his Academy to choose anyone we were interested in.
There was an event at his Academy and he had invited us there.
Both Setsuna-san and Jiro-san were interested in visiting other worlds so they agreed… and just like that, it was decided that we would go to Totsuki Culinary Academy as judges for the event.
These two months were going to be quite busy for us.
We had this event, the settlement of the Oni in the town, the Comiket where we were going to launch our Publishing House and then there was also the Jujutsu Exam.
Things were moving quite fast but once these things are done, I can hope for things to settle down a bit more.
After breakfast, I opened the Restaurant and guests started coming in one after another.
Rimuru, Milim, Saitama, Ainz, the Ryozanpaku masters and Bang-san all have breakfast at my Restaurant nowadays. Cid-kun, Naruto, Kanna, Miu and Touma all not only have breakfast here but also take their lunch from here so mornings are slightly busier. Even Brandish and Dimaria come with August-sensei to eat here.
While August-sensei hasn't been here for a while, having been away on some work with Zeref and Irene-san, the two girls always visited us for the meals and played with Naruto and Kanna.
I took a deep breath and got to work.
- Makarov -
The number of thoughts going on through his mind when he gathered with some of his guild members on Tenroujima island were innumerable.
These thoughts had started when Warrod had contacted him about the topic.
The true history of Fairy Tail.
The teacher of the Founders.
The truth of Black Wizard Zeref.
The information had shaken him completely.
To think that his own father was taught magic by the infamous Black Wizard Zeref who was in a relationship with the first master Mavis. The latter fact was even more surprising than the fact that Zeref, a figure from four hundred years ago, was still alive at this point.
But then he came to know about the truth of the history of Zeref and Makarov couldn't help but feel pity for the guy.
His thoughts had to wait however as he sensed people coming out from the forest. At the forefront of the group was a black haired guy who looked in his early twenties.
Warrod took the lead and greeted the man and then Makarov understood who this person was. Zeref.
The man's eyes however were looking past him, behind him to be precise.
He looked back to see the target of the man's gaze and found it to be Natsu. But the surprises didn't end just there. The Black Wizard's eyes teared up as he looked at the young Dragonslayer, shocking even Warrod.
"Natsu." His whisper was heard through the silence of the island.
"Hah! Do I know you mister?" The boy asked, confused.
The man collected himself and smiled. "I… yes. Let me introduce myself. My name is… Zeref Dragneel. I am… your elder brother."
….
….
The shocked look on his face was shared by everyone in the place, even Warrod.
No one had known the full name of the Black Wizard till then.
"Brother?" Natsu was puzzled but the man didn't look offended or angry in the slightest.
He kneeled on the ground before Natsu but before he could say anything, he stopped and looked towards the sky in the distance as if sensing something. The rest followed his gaze but couldn't sense anything. Some wondered what he was looking for but those questions were answered as soon as they spotted a giant red spot approaching the island at a very high speed.
It took him a moment to realise what it was.
A Dragon!
It was a real life dragon!
Makarov got into a defensive position. Gildarts behind him doing the same.
"She's a friend." Zeref spoke, making them pause.
But someone else was also surprised at the sight of the Dragon, for a completely different reason.
Natsu stood frozen at the sight of the dragon.
The said dragon landed on the beach and several people got down from its back and the dragon… or rather the dragoness changed into a human form. An old man and a group of children and finally one familiar looking man in chains who looked surprisingly similar.
"That's…" Makarov exclaimed as he stepped forward.
"Back down Makarov. He…Precht or rather Hades is the Guild Master of Grimoire Heart, one of the three biggest Dark Guilds in Ishgar. He's responsible for many crimes." Warrod spoke, making Makarov freeze on the spot and look at the man in shock.
The second Master was… how?
The dragon turned into a scarlet haired woman and Natsu ran towards her.
"Hey. Do you know Igneel? Do you know where Igneel is?"
The woman took a look at him and then at Zeref and asked, "Is this your brother?" to which he nodded. She then returned her gaze to Natsu. "Ask your brother. He left you with Igneel."
"Do you know where Igneel is? You left me with Igneel?" Natsu threw the questions at Zeref without a moment's delay but the man in question was looking towards the forest.
They followed his gaze and sure enough, someone came out of the forest. A girl with a white dress and long blonde hair walked on the forest ground, barefoot. She looked like a fairy from legends but Makarov had seen her before.
"H-how?"
"Mavis." Zeref whispered.
"Zeref, Warrod and Precht…"
This reunion however was not pleasant for everyone. The second master Precht seemed to have reached his limit and burst.
"WHY? Why do you do this? I have searched for you all this time. To search for the source of magic, the one true magic, dedicated my entire life to finding you and now… you come out of nowhere and treat me like a criminal… you, the one known as the Black Wizard, you who created the entire race of demons… I see. Is it because of him?" He pointed towards another elderly man with a long white beard, confusing everyone in the place. "Did you think I wouldn't recognise your power? I wouldn't forget your power. You were a freak of nature from the very moment you were born. Who would have thought that you would grow up and meet Zeref and who would have thought that Black Wizard Zeref would be so emotional to come and take revenge for his own son?"
….
….
"What did you say?"
Somehow, the tone of Zeref's voice didn't reassure Makarov that this meeting would be a peaceful one anymore.
- Mavis -
She had thought that at her age and with her life experiences, there would be very few things in life which could shock her. She was right to think that, even the news of Zeref finding a cure for the 'Curse of Contradiction' was just happy news for her, not a massive surprise. She had known the man better than anyone else. He was her husband after all and thus she trusted him and his talents more than anyone. She knew that he would one day find a cure for the curse. She was just thankful that he hadn't fallen into madness before he did so.
But… never in her life had she imagined this to be the reason for her surprise.
She was a mother.
Her child…
Was this the punishment for taking away young Makarov's mother, Rita's life with her curse? She was separated from her child as well.
Pain, Sorrow, Anger, she couldn't even understand which emotion she was feeling at the moment or at whom the feelings were aimed at, Precht, the god who cursed them, or even this world. Perhaps the only thought that was keeping her from breaking down at this point was the fact that Zeref must be having it much harder at this point. To stay by his own child's side but not recognise him. The guilt must be killing him. Especially Zeref. For someone like him who had loved and wanted nothing more than a family… this was probably worse than all the centuries he had suffered under the 'Curse of Contradiction'.
Not to mention what her child had been through… to remain and act like a servant to his own father just to avoid the 'Curse of Contradiction' and stay by his side.
"W-what is your name?" She stuttered as she faced him hesitantly. The others had given the three of them some room alone and she was grateful for their consideration.
"I… my name is August. His Maj…" He paused looking at the pained look on Zeref's face and changed his words. "Father named me after the month he spent with you."
"August… hmm, a good name, a very great name." Words were failing her and she looked at Zeref for support but August interrupted before Zeref could say anything.
"Would you come with us, Mother? We have found a way to remove the curse. We… we could live together." He kneeled.
"I…" Her words finally failed her as tears came to her eyes and she could barely nod. She looked at Zeref and he came by her side as the two of them embraced August as tears fell from each of their eyes. "I would love to go with you two."
She didn't pay any attention to what happened or what was discussed. Something about Dragon Slayers, Acnologia and Eclipse. All she did was sit with August and tried to make up for the time they had lost together.
As for Precht, he was taken away for interrogation by the lady who could turn into a dragon. The reason he was attacked was because he had been taking her daughter as a hostage and making them work for something and despite their previous friendship, she didn't have it in her to spare any kindness for him at this point.
God knows the feeling she was experiencing right now. It was only the lack of a body which prevented her from jumping at Percht and punching his head off.
She wouldn't stop the woman who was probably experiencing a similar emotion at this moment. If anything, she would consider her actions to be the extension of her own.
- Silas -
"Still, last night's party was awesome."
"Hmm… did you see the girls who had come after Cid? There were elves among them, you know, real elves!" Rimuru said, still surprised.
It was honestly surprising.
I knew that Cid-kun had several girls among his friends but I wasn't expecting so many.
They called themselves the Shadow Garden, a group headed by Cid-kun or rather Shadow himself. At first, I thought they were part of his School's Roleplay Club or something but it turns out that they had their lives saved by Cid-kun years ago.
Alpha, the blonde elf, the leader of the group told us about their past. Cid-kun was apparently the son of a noble and helped them when they were abandoned due to some kind of illness, almost on the verge of death, to get on their feet when they were alone and they in turn followed Cid-kun.
Their crush on him was obvious to see when they spoke of him, although the guy's reaction was confusing for several of us when Rimuru asked him about it.
He had just smiled and said nothing.
Rimuru thought he was being smug.
I personally thought he was absolutely clueless.
Ainz however was silent and just looked at the guy with a gaze… which can be described as a mixture of understanding and pity.
"Didn't your world have elves too? I think Ainz has elves too."
"Aura and Mare are Dark Elves." Ainz corrected.
"It's not like that… but elves…"
We shook our heads, knowing quite well of Rimuru's secret elf fetish.
"Eh, enough talking about him. Let's talk about you." I said, smirking as I remembered about last night.
"Hmm?" He asked, quite confused.
"So… how was your night?" I asked with a smirk.
"W-what do you mean by that?" Rimuru asked, defensively.
"Oh… you know… how was your night? After all, Shizuka-san stayed in Tempest last night." I threw in the bait and sure enough.
My words got the attention of Ainz, who immediately zoned on to Rimuru, taking the slime by surprise.
"Hoh! This is new. Why didn't I hear of it before?"
"Because you went back early. Seriously, how do Skeletons even get drunk?" I asked.
"How would I know? Magic, I guess." He shrugged before looking at Rimuru, expectantly. "So, what's up with that?"
"Nothing. Nothing happened. She slept in the guest room." He quickly denied.
"Oh… and Shion?" I smirked, not letting the guy get out of this so easily.
This guy had made me throw a party with a two hundred million budget for getting two girlfriends… As if I would let him shrug this off so easily.
"Heh! Shion? The purple haired Oni who was with Shuna-chan?" Ainz asked, a smirk… or at least I assumed that's what it was, on his bony face.
"What about Shion? I don't know what you are talking about."
"Hmm, well, it looked like Shion was quite reluctant to leave you alone last night… so I was wondering if she followed you to your bed too."
"Really? Such a thing happened?" Ainz asked.
"Oh yeah. You should have seen him. Shizuka-san on one side and Shion on the other… and he calls me a Harem Protagonist."
"Well… he isn't wrong…"
"Concentrate Ainz."
"Ah yes."
"Hah! And what about you? I have come to hear something very interesting about a certain someone called Albedo and a certain Shalltear both fighting over Ainz-sama…" Rimuru bit back, making the skeleton flustered all of a sudden. He wasn't expecting a counter attack.
"Eh, who are these Albedo and Shalltear?" I asked, interested suddenly.
"You didn't know because you were talking with others but Shion told me that she was talking with the Maids of Nazarick and found out that two of the Floor Guardians, a Succubus called Albedo and a vampire called Shalltear both fight over who will have their precious Ainz-sama's babies first."
I looked at Ainz in surprise. I do remember him telling us about some floor guardian but I had forgotten who it was.
"A succubus, you know. A real succubus. You know what kind of demons they are, right? And this bastard is teasing us." Rimuru complained.
"Seriously?" I asked, in wonder.
This time it wasn't to tease him, just genuine curiosity.
"I-i-it's not like that. We don't…" Ainz waved his hands rapidly as a green light shone over him and he calmed down… thrice…
Seeing the two being so flustered I finally burst into a laugh. "Don't worry. I am just teasing you guys. I know you won't do anything like that." Then my smile turned savage. "After all… doing that needs you to have… a certain something."
…
It took them a moment to recover from the blow but when they did, they immediately reacted quickly. "Bastard! You wanna fight, huh!" Rimuru shouted while another flash of green covered Ainz.
"Hmph, you talk as if you have a lot of experience? Big words from someone who doesn't even have the balls to confess to Sakura-chan yet." Ainz retorted.
Even Rimuru who was expectedly agitated paused and zoned back in. "Yeah, pot calling kettle black."
The words caught me off guard. Normally, I would have just shrugged it off but the dance from yesterday came to my mind and I hesitated slightly… a mistake which wouldn't escape from these absurdly high level monsters.
It was as if they were bloodhounds who had caught the scent of blood.
I knew that they would absolutely not let it go if I stayed here so I quickly opened the door to the private room where they always stayed and stepped out… crashing into something soft face first directly…
…
"Oh my!" I recognised the voice and stepped back quickly.
"Lucoa-san. I am sorry, I wasn't watching when I opened the door."
"No no it's nothing. I just wanted to apologise for last night. I… behaved in an unsightly manner…"
"It was nothing. You had too much to drink. I didn't know some drinks were too strong."
"Oh, they were amazing. It has been centuries, perhaps even millennia since I have had such delicious alcohol."
"I am glad you liked it. I hope you didn't have any problems sleeping last night."
"Oh yes. I slept very well. I am just worried that Shuna-chan would be troubled since Tohru and I took her room last night but she said that Lavinia and she were fine in your room, so that's good." She smiled good naturedly.
Her words however made two others in the room freeze.
"Ah… yes. They were slightly tired yesterday so sleeping was no problem."
"Great! Then I must leave now. Thank you for inviting me to such a great party."
"It was my pleasure hosting you. Please have some breakfast before going."
"Oh my, such a sweet guy. Thank you very much." She smiled and walked back.
I was about to leave with her, taking advantage of the situation but unfortunately that was just wishful thinking. I suddenly found a string grabbing my hand.
Looking back, I saw that the string was Rimuru's Steel Thread Skill and on the other end, both the slime and the Lich were staring at me with a blank face.
"Silas… w-what did she mean by Lavinia and Shuna… sleeping in your room. Did you sleep on the couch?" Rimuru asked, slowly. And while Ainz was not speaking anything, the red in his eyes flashed dangerously, making his question clear too.
I snapped my finger, freezing and snapping the thread and just smirked at them.
"What's that smirk about, bastard?" Rimuru asked, taken aback by my smirk.
I didn't say anything, only my smirk widened.
"W-what… what happened"
"Nothing… nothing happened." I smiled back and opened the door of the private room.
I was pretty sure I heard the sound of some glasses crashing in the room.
Phew, that was close.
Thankfully Lucoa arrived at the right time or those two would absolutely not let me go.
- Yuri Alpha -
She gathered with the seven Shadows from the Shadow Garden along with a few more people from their side.
The Oni were mainly led by three people recommended by Shuna, as the top of the Ogre Clan who had decided to follow Silas-sama to this world.
Hiro, a red haired Oni, someone who was a friend and rival of her elder brother and one of the most talented individuals of the younger generation. He was incharge of leading the Oni as a general.
Yuna, the elder sister of another friend of Shuna and her brother, Souei. She was very good at infiltration and stealth based combat and was the one who had taught her younger brother everything.
Lastly, an elderly Oni called Hakurou, who was a master of swordsmanship and had been the trainer of the oni back in the ogre village.
In today's meeting, only Yuna was participating.
After a brief introduction, the meeting started in earnest.
"How is the training on the side of the Oni?" Alpha asked.
Yuna, taking this as a sign, spoke first.
"We have all been trained about the basic knowledge of the world by Lavinia-sama and Sakura-sama. In Silas-sama's world, beings like Gods and Demon Lords as well as many magical races exist. They however keep their identity and existence a secret from normal… non-magical humans. This is an unspoken law followed by everyone in the Supernatural World. If a non-magical human finds out about them, their memories are erased using magic to cover up the traces of any magical events. So it is imperative that we know how to cover up after us."
Honestly she didn't understand the need for such a thing.
Why do Gods and Demon Lords, beings far higher than normal mortal humans hide from them?
Narberal thought it was to avoid being infected by their stupidity. She wasn't very appreciative of humans. It was especially so after they found out about Silas-sama's past.
Being chased and forced to flee by those imbeciles when he was in a weakened state, without his powers and memories.
Even the thought of such a thing made her blood boil in rage.
Silas-sama had given up everything for the sake of his friends and those… lowly…
When they had relayed this information in Nazarick, the Pleiades and Guardians had almost started a crusade against the so-called yakuza responsible for such a thing.
It was only after a slight investigation, they found out that all of them had already been taken care of in Zeref-sama's spell. The incident just made Yuri sigh at her foolishness.
How could she not think about that?
If even she was angry at his treatment, how would the other Supreme Beings take such an offence. How could they not act already?
Truly, they had too much to learn.
But despite her personal feelings for the non-magical humans in Silas-sama's world, she knew that Silas-sama himself didn't hate them. In fact, he had a very good relationship with many of them.
That's why they kept their personal feelings aside, deciding to respect his feelings.
"Hmm, we unfortunately don't have any such magic." Alpha said. "The magic in our world… isn't that versatile in many areas." She said with some regret.
"We have already been taught such a spell by Lavinia-sama and Tohru-sama. Such spells are a necessity in Silas-sama's world and something the Supernatural Beings of Tohru-sama's world use too. We have trained a squad of people who will be responsible for erasing memories of anyone who gets accidentally involved." Yuna said before adding. "We can share the magic with you if you need. It is slightly complicated so not many might be able to learn it so easily as it needs a certain talent in magic."
Alpha nodded. "Thank you. That would make Shadow Garden's operations in our world very easy."
The other members of Shadow Garden looked happy too.
Yuri saw this and added. "We can also contribute a set of Tier Magic and offer teaching to the members of both Shadow Garden and Tempest."
"Thank you. From our side, Shadow Garden will provide knowledge and training on how to run a business. We will also provide our Drill Master, Lambda to train people in espionage and counter espionage. Covert Operations is the specialty of Shadow Garden." She said quite proudly.
"Yes, we are Shadow Garden. We live in the darkness and hunt from the Shadows."
And with that planning began. At the end of the day, they had divided themselves into groups, each responsible for their own tasks.
One group would investigate the material they would publish. It was headed by Beta.
Another group would be responsible for buying properties. Narberal and she were responsible for this.
Third group would be doing market research. Tanya and Gamma were responsible for this group.
Lambda, Lavinia, Tohru and Sakura would oversee the training of the Oni's magic.
Over the next few weeks they started working in earnest.
Beta from Shadow Garden had started collecting manga and light novels from several worlds after getting suggestions from Ainz-sama and Rimuru-sama.
Gamma from the Shadow Garden began working with her to buy the properties in Miyama town.
Initially, the process was going slowly. That was until Gamma found something interesting in one of her investigations.
They had encountered a large building, absolutely suitable for the location of their new Publishing House. It was a property which cost eighty four million yen originally but was being sold for a much lower price due to some rumours about the property.
Apparently… it was haunted.
Yuri had looked blankly at the man when he had told her this.
… were these idiots really giving up three fourth of a price over a mere ghost?
Ghosts?
They were not even suitable as servants in Nazarick… could those formless shades save them so much money?
But since they were being so benevolent, who was she to deny?
She negotiated the price even lower and after some persuasion the price was reduced to six million.
That was when Tanya came up with a glitch.
What if other places were haunted too?
And with this, a plan was formed. They just chased the ghost away from the building, not purifying it completely.
It in turn went to another building and within just three days, that building was up for sale… Plan Successful.
In just three weeks, they had managed to buy the entire residential area. Although several buildings were empty, the talks of ghosts reduced the price a lot, allowing her to buy everything in a single go. It was easy.
Truly, as Silas-sama had said, killing and violence was never the answer. Sometimes, letting others go and forgiving can be rewarding too. So this is what he meant.
Did he already know of this?
As expected of Supreme Beings.
Tanya was truly a talent deserving of the recognition of the Supreme Beings.
With the property bought, they proceeded to the second phase of their plan. Step by step, they will get this world and offer it to Silas-sama.
- Silas -
"Is this the place?" I asked, looking around the area.
"Yes, Silas-sama." Yuri answered with a bow.
"It's huge." Rimuru said, looking out of the window. "And you got this for just six million? You girls must be amazing at bargaining." He said, looking at her in wonder.
Rimuru wasn't kidding.
The price of this building was at least eighty million or so and they had obtained it for a mere six million.
Yuri had asked us to visit the place and check it out before they established the Publishing House here.
Rimuru and I came here as Ainz was busy playing with Saitama, Milim and Fafnir.
"It was Tanya-chan and Gamma-chan who made the deal." Yuri replied.
Gamma was one of the girls who were friends with Cid-kun.
I had asked him about them and he told us that those girls ran a successful business in their world. In fact, they had created more or less a business empire in less than half a decade and Gamma was the one incharge of the business affairs.
Yuri had met them in the Restaurant and had asked them for advice in managing the business as they had experience on their side. Those girls had given their all to assist us with everything.
They have been a great help.
I knew almost nothing about this business and had only provided the money. Any progress that was made later was all the credit of these girls.
They had bought this property and several others at a very low cost. I was apprehensive at first about how they would do and if they would harm anyone. Ainz had told me that the people of Nazarick have a slightly different way of thinking from ordinary people and while Yuri and Narberal were fine, I didn't want to take any chances. That's why I had even reminded them not to use violence to get any property.
I am glad that they worked it out properly.
"We have ordered the equipment and they will be arriving by tomorrow. The staff has already been more or less trained. Right now, we lack a place for them to stay so they can only move through the Restaurant. We plan to complete building the residence and barriers for them in a month after which they will be able to settle here." She reported.
In this world, Supernatural beings did stay in the human world but they generally lived in areas covered by barriers or under disguises so as to keep their identities hidden.
"Barriers?" Rimuru asked.
"We talked to Tohru-chan and Lucoa-sama. Even Fafnir-sama and Shouko-sama were able to lend us some help in this regard. Their worlds have similar places and thus their magic can easily be used to ward off the residential area in a way that normal humans wouldn't be able to see them. Apart from this, each Oni has been trained in disguise to blend in perfectly with the humans of this world. They have been taught the basic knowledge of this world by Lavinia and Sakura."
They have really thought a lot about this project.
Rimuru nodded. "Yeah, our story for the Oni is that they are from an isolated dimension near an abandoned island and have come here to see the world on the orders of their leader. It is only normal for them to be ignorant about the world since they haven't been in contact with anyone for centuries, probably even millenia. How about the Publishing House?" He asked.
"Since we already have prepared material on our side, we can start publishing our manga in less than a week." She replied.
"Oh! That's awesome. Are you all publishing the manga and novels Beta-san asked about?" Rimuru asked, happily.
They had discussed the list of manga overnight and decided on some famous names.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fist of the North Star, Black Clover, Slam Dunk, Yu Yu Hakusho, Code Geass, Death Note and Inuyasha. Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura were the compulsory magical girl manga. There was also To Love Ru and Mahou Sensei Negima were also added for the Harem genre, Rimuru making some personal changes in them. The list looked amazing if I was being honest.
Apart from this, they were publishing some famous Light Novels like Irregular at Magic High, Sword Art Online and Campione.
I had never seen both Rimuru and Ainz be so focused on something… not even wars.
"Yes. Apart from that, we are planning on publishing the Yu-Gi-Oh manga and then expand towards the Card Games. Tanya-chan suggested that they can be a very big business avenue, especially with something called the Gacha."
Both Rimuru and I looked at each other and then shivered internally.
Yeah… that girl was evil.
"O-oh. Good work." stuttered Rimuru.
Even I could only nod.
"We are planning to prepare around fifty thousand copies of the first release for the Comiket. Along with that, we plan to make posters and collectibles. Finally, we have a plan to present a music show to promote our Publishing House in front of the world although we are still working on that. We plan to expand towards the Visual Novel markets too. To test out the market, we are planning to launch some Visual Novels too. We are starting with the Clannad and Touhou Project." She reported.
"That's great. Just tell us if you need anything. You all have done an amazing job. I have no words good enough to praise you all." It was a genuine feeling from me. I really couldn't imagine someone arranging all this in just a few months and even training appropriate staff and starting a whole industry. These girls did this, despite not knowing anything about this world just a few months ago.
"Yup. Awesome work, Yuri-san." Rimuru nodded too.
"We will. Thank you so much for your praise." She smiled and gave us a bow.
Really, these girls are very hard working.
- Sona Sitri -
Sona was awakened at night and wanted to drink some water. Normally, it would be something a maid would do but Sona had asked the maids to leave this side of the house unattended as she wanted to get used to it.
They were planning to go to the human world at the end of the year to study and she didn't want to take maids there.
It would only be her and her peerage.
On the way towards the kitchen, however, she was distracted by another sound in the distance. It was quite faint and it might have been impossible to hear for a normal person during the day but it was night and Sona wasn't some normal person.
She walked in the direction and the sounds became louder. On reaching closer, she was able to identify the voices.
Mother and Father?
Was Father back?
She hadn't seen him much in the past few months. He always seemed to be busy, always out for work. She knew that a part of it was because of her breaking up the engagement but her sister and mother had assured her that that was not the case.
The voices became much clearer when she reached closer to the door.
"...what exactly are you doing, Desmond?"
"It's work."
"Don't give me that useless reason. What kind of work involves you being away for so long. And what kind of work can't you share with us? Have you taken a look at yourself? You look all messed up. Your clothes are disheveled completely unlike your normal self, your eyes look tired and you have dark circles under your eyes. You are an Ultimate Class Devil. What kind of work can make someone like you… this… this tired? If there is anything wrong, please tell us. We can solve it together."
…
There was a period of silence in the room and she heard her father breath deeply and sit down.
"It's… nothing. You all don't need to worry. I will make everything right. Just… just give me some time."
Sona had never heard her father's voice sounding so… defeated.
"What will you make right?" Her mother asked, worried and by now even she was worried. What exactly was going on?
"Please…" He said again but didn't say anything further.
Her mother sighed too.
Sona waited but there was no other voice from the room so she quietly went back to her own room.
This time however her mind was whirling with many thoughts.
After thinking for a while, she decided to meet her sister and discuss it with her.
If Father was really in some kind of problem then maybe her sister could help? She was a Satan after all. There were very few things she couldn't do.
With that in mind she fell asleep.

"Mother and Father were arguing?" Serafall asked, surprised.
It wasn't normal as her parents had a very good relationship and almost never argued so hearing this could be surprising for everyone, especially her sister and her who knew them so closely.
She nodded her head.
"What exactly were they talking about?" Serafall asked.
Sona explained everything briefly.
When the explanation ended, Serafall was frowning too.
"Do you think someone is troubling Father?" She asked, worriedly.
Serafall broke out of her thoughts and looked at her.
"Don't worry." She reassured her.
"Could… could it be due to the engagement?" She asked, feeling guilty.
- Serafall -
She looked at the depressed face of her sister and sighed internally. To be honest, her father had decided on the engagement when she was very young and Serafall hadn't even known about it. She hadn't said much as Zephyrdor was Falbium's brother. Both Falbium and his brother were quite good devils so they hadn't expected Zephyrdor would turn out like… that. Even though Lord Glaysa-Labolas had been disappointed by the breaking of the engagement, he hadn't taken it to heart as the man himself knew what kind of a jerk his youngest was.
Sona's decision wasn't questioned by many except the hardocre traditionalists but those jerks were always looking for a reason to poke a nose where it didn't belong. Even more so if it can annoy the Satans in any way possible.
"No. That matter has already been settled. There was no problem on that side so don't make that face. Father is also the Head of the Sitri House. He has many responsibilities. Although, this… is indeed a bit unusual. I have a meeting with the Japanese Supernatural factions soon. I will have a talk after I return."
The matter of the mysterious Lucifer has calmed down a bit after there were no more actions from either side. Well it was understandable for the Utsusemi Agency and Wizards of Oz as they were… well, uprooted from Japan. Sure the Wizards of Oz were still mostly intact as their zone of operations were not in Japan but in European countries mainly. In fact, most of their bases were in pocket dimensions in the Dimensional Gap so finishing them off in one attack was near impossible.
Those people were very good at hiding. Still, there were no sightings of any members of the Wizards of Oz… or any of their associates in Japan… or any other place after the attack months ago.
He had single-handedly freaked everyone out from the idea of even leaving their pocket dimension in fear of being nuked and dropping dead in the middle of a road.
This wasn't a bad thing as it had reduced several crimes they were involved in. In fact, in Japan, the crime rate had gone down almost drastically in the last few months after the attack.
Supernaturals were worried about any action gaining the ire of the mysterious Lucifer and the normal humans, yakuza and gang members were worried about the sudden disappearance of several yazuka gangs related to the Utsusemi Agency.
It was only now that the leaders of the Japanese Supernatural factions had opened up for talks again.
They had accepted her request for a meeting and she and Sirzechs were going to Japan to attend.
It could have been faster had Azazel agreed to mediate but this time, the Governor General of the Fallen Angels was being stubborn in his decision. It wasn't like usual either where he just wants to increase the price for his services. This time he was seriously backing out… which was a telling from what she knew about the man.
But then again, it was understandable.
The news hadn't spread in the Underworld yet due to their efforts or it would have caused a mess here too.
If anything, the bright spot in all this was the Mysterious Lucifer himself who hadn't made any other moves after that, letting everything go back to normal.
Her attention went back to Sona and she suddenly remembered something, her face brightening up. "Actually, you know what? You can come with us. Ria-tan is going there too. There is a giant bi-annual Comiket in Japan and there will be many events there. You can go there with Ria-tan. Later on, we can both participate in the Cosplay Event as Super Duper Magical Girl Sisters, So-tan and Levia-tan!"
Sona's eyes twitched at the words. "No."
"But So-tan!"
"No means no."
"But… but… you two can even check out the territory you will be managing and the schools you will be attending later on. Won't it be good to know the country a bit better before going there?"
The point made her sister pause.
Taking the signal she pushed the idea a bit more and finally got her to agree.
Perhaps a trip to Japan and a holiday with her peerage members will help her chill out.
With Sirzechs and her there, there won't be any problem about their safety either.
"Great! Then it's agreed. We are all going to Japan for the Comiket."

Author's Note:
I am back with another chapter of 'Isekai Restaurant'.
This was mostly the aftermath of the party and casual talks between friends.
We also got to see the plans of Silas' subordinates starting to take root in Silas' world.
There are so many things to do.
Jujutsu Exam, Soul Society Arc, Totsuki Arc, Holy Grail War, maybe something from Shadow's shenanigans, a Toriko visit, Comiket and even Ikki's world might come next.
The next chapters are going to be fun.
Enjoy the new chapter.
Good Day, Peace Out.
