sword dragon and the phoenix -chapter 29- wins and stars
this chapter will close out the Uraotogi match and set up Yusuke and his team for the to face team Toguro
this chapter will cover episodes 49-54[first part] a few different twists of my own ideas
Ravel pov
As she came in, nobody left on our team wasn't sure the masked fighter was the same one from the last few rounds. Then as she went on to fight Shishi, the masked fighter clearly didn't fight as hard as during the fight against the modified humans. Then soon enough the Yokai samurai ripped off the mask to reveal Genkai. But as Shishi tried to get her disqualified. The crowd then jeered until the committee approved of her and that made the crowds of yokai angrier still until Toguro revealed how she could change her age and that she was Genkai. That only made Shishi want to kill her even more as he changed his sword's form to something like a living being and Kurama even said it was something Shishi shouldn't use.
Shirou pov
It wasn't long until the girl and Kuwabara found me guarding over the resting Yusuke. I said to them "Yusuke has completed his final test and claimed Genkai's spirit wave. He will need to sleep off the absorption process. according to Genkai he should be ready in the morning." After that I asked Kuwabara "what are you doing here?" he only told me that he got caught in a strange cape and that he got dropped at the old arena for some reason."
Ravel pov
As the fight moved to its next stage, I wasn't sure Genkai could win this fight at her current level. But as the yokai released the screams of the blade as its nightmarish screams, it soon began to drain the spirit power of the audience and then he tried to release its power at Genkai only for her to escape it with ease. But the released evil spirits did attack nearly every enemy Yokai in the arena, but I was able to use a fire barrier to keep Hiei and Kurama safe from the attack. Before the next attack, I extended my shield to the fox girl announcer as many yokai fled from the arena but more insane yokai stayed behind.
It wasn't much longer that Kuwabara and Shirou arrived at the arena to see Shishi unleash a new attack in a cage form as the yokai revealed his motive to become famous. But Genkai revealed she was never in for fame as she took in his spirit power, became young again and used it to take him down. but Shishi still had a little bit of fight left and once again tied to use his blade to kill her only for the old woman turned young to once again turn the spirit power on its owner, destroy his blade and win the fight.
Shirou pov
After that the last fighter Onji came out prepared for Kuwabara only for the boy to reveal he made it back to the arena and prepared to fight the aged Yokai. It was as I got back inside and as the fight was about to start, Ichigo texted me and said "I am sending some normal humans your way to get them out of harm's way and I got my powers back. if you meet any yokai willing to work with demigods and other supernatural beings I may be able to provide work." I just texted him with "I will have Rias, and her peerage receive the people you need me to as for the yokai. I will give them my number and connect them to you later on."
As the fight started, the aged Yokai used the a strange move to send red haired boy back to the old arena and as he did, I detected some Yokai about to attack the recovering Yusuke and Keiko. But the ones that ended up saving him were our former opponents that were still friendly Riku, Chu, Jin and Toya. All four scared off the evil yokai and I gave them summoning papers and asked "would you four be willing to work for my brother and I? we are starting a company soon to support supernatural beings willing to work with normal humans. If you want to take the deal, use one of these to summon me and we can work out details." Chu replied to me as he looked over the flier "are you some kind of devil, if so, I would like to try some otherworldly booze. I heard lots of good things about Aegir's mead. If you can hook me up with a lot of that I will take any job given.
I then said back, "I can't get any of that now. but I can get some hell beer very soon. I will pay in full if you keep Yusuke alive until this battle is over." He replied "never had hell beer. If you give me a case of that and a case of Aegir's mead later, you have a deal." I replied to him "as I said I will have the case delivered to your room tonight and the mead in a few weeks."
After that, I left him and called Jan to say, "get me a case of hell beer, the strongest stuff you can find delivered to in a few hours and save any receipt." She just asked, "what kind of contract did you make?" I just said, "it was to keep Yusuke safe for an hour and it more a business investment than anything." with that in hung up the phone and knew Jan would be dead tired after making a trip like that."
I then returned to the arena to Genkai fighting a weird clown. said clown started by spreading blustery only to get stomped into the ground and have his face beaten in my Genkai. With that we won the match, and I had to tell Genkai the price I paid to keep Yusuke protected and got "I have heard Aegir likes stuff from other factions. if you could convince Dionysus to grow a batch of fruit that should be enough for now." after that the old lady left to deal with some business.
After the match was over, I had the rest of the team take Yusuke to a seat to sit in with Chu still watching over Yusuke. The match was team Toguro against a team that fashioned themselves after power rangers. But only the older brother and the other two members of the team showed up for the match. But the younger brother was likely doing something more dangerous.
The first match was the green rangers against the thin pretty boy with a mask named Karasu. It started with green using a toxic acid attack, but the masked man dodged with ease as the attack took out part of the arena. But after a second acid attack Karasu revealed his power over explosions, and he took out green's arms one by one. Then soon completely blew Green to pieces. I could tell Kurama was going to need something to help fight on the same level as the explosive man.
As for Hiei he was training in a way to master both his sacred gear and the dragon of the darkness flame. The next fight was the yellow ranger against the armored giant Bui. Yellow talked about his large sword but silent giant in turn summoned an even larger axe. But the real shock was how fast the man used said axe to smash and destroy the rangers in one attack.
Then for the final round it was older Toguro against red, blue and Pink for winner takes all. The trio started by making copies of themselves to face the sickly-looking brother, but he soon spears all three with extended fingers and killed pink instantly with blue and red left alive. The older soon toyed with the other two rangers and killed both as he explained how they recruited the other two members of their team. It turned out the two beat Bui and Karasu but left them alive to join their team and grow stronger. But it also turned out the older brother had much less sense of honor than the older brother.
With that the match was done but neither Kurama nor I were sure how the team could win against those three. But on the way out of the arena, Karasu taunted Kurama and hinted something was about to happen to Genkai. I could tell both men wanted to fight me but would settle for the members of the team instead. It was a few moments later, I figured out what was going on with a massive power surge in the forest. I then started to think about the Toguro brothers as I remembered what I could tell from the scan of the older brother's body. he almost seemed like a reincarnated devil but not.
Yusuke pov
I soon woke up to a massive power surge in the area and knew I had to run to find Genkai before it was too late. But with that surge I knew it was likely already too late. It was after running in the right direction, I saw Toguro kill Genkai and then she passed a memory orb to me that showed her connection to the younger brother and that his original name was Dan, and the older brother used to be known as Kura. Then she revealed the group behind the dark tournament was backed by Triumvirate holdings. Then she revealed the last thing was that she used to be friends with the Toguro brothers until they were forced into the dark tournament fifty years ago and after winning both were turned into Yokai via a method that she wasn't completely sure of.
I then tried to settle things with the man I knew as Dan here and now but right away he punched me down and after that Ravel arrived to issue an older to wait for the match to fight him. I knew I couldn't fight now. Shirou then came to me and said "you have one final trial to overcome before you will be ready to face Toguro. I can't tell you how to pass but you have to surpass your grief to do so. now go back to the hotel and sleep."
Shirou pov
I could tell each member of the group was doing their own training to prepare for the battle. Hiei needed to bond further with his sacred gear to overcome the armored giant and Kurama needed the power of his Yokai to overcome the explosion master. I knew all of this due to a skill my brother taught me to use that used the moon to see long distances. It was when Kurama met Kuwabara, and a bandaged man came to meet them that I came out. soon enough the man revealed himself as Suzuka and he gave Kurama and Kuwabara items. Kurama got the fruit of the previous life in a red liquid and Kuwabara got a sword hilt.
After that a man in a strange helmet flew to me and asked "are you Shirou Emiya? If so, your mother wanted me to give this to you." He then had me sign a phone and hand over a package. Then flew off." After that all around look stunned as the Yokai said "who are you boy for Hermes to come to drop off package?" I replied "my mother is Artemis. "I then asked "it is possible we could save the seed from that fruit and grow more of it." Suzuka replied "yes, and it would still have the same potency. But you would need extremely spirit dense spoil to grow it, like soil from the Seireitei or Mount Olympus or other spirit rich places."
He then told us about the sword hilt and how it was made from a life sucking tree. He then said "a skilled sword maker could turn it into something that surpasses the banshee shriek. But you might be able to get other uses out of it." I then asked, "why are you helping us?" he replied, "to get revenge of Toguro." I then said, "I may have a job opportunity for you in the future." Then handed him a summon sheet and said, "in June I will have a company needing special employees." He replied, "if your team wins, I will consider it."
I then checked my package to find a bad of silver powder with a note saying "I meant for you to craft a new blade for your brother but since he no longer needs it make something for you friends with this. Its my special silver, just as good if not better than imperial gold or celestial bronze." I then took the hilt for Kuwabara and said to the boy "give me a few hours and I will make you a sword better than that crappy blade Shishi had. it might even be a sacred gear." Then I made a small knife and took the fruit for Kurama and quickly seeded it and then said "I will find a source of the soil you need as well."
Yusuke pov
As I was beating myself up in guilt, Koenma came to me and said "you must get over this last test and if do you will only get stronger. Those two have always had passion, if I didn't know better more than one deity loves to screw around with them. You need to figure yourself out." after that I waited and trained a few more hours until Koenma told me about Genkai and how I helped her just as much as she helped me. After that power flooded me and I fired a massive spirit blast into the sky. Then after that a teenage girl appeared before me and said, "I will use this power to make a new constellation to remember Genkai by, she was a fine warrior maiden." Then Shirou came and said, "my mother left you with a massive gift. Now I have to give Kuwabara his gift."
it ended up taking less than an hour to make a sword from the hilt and silver dust. I knew It would make a weapon that could change shape when spirit energy was applied but the full ability would require Kuwabara to see and seeing if it would turn into a sacred gear was a thing I wouldn't know until later. After that I found Jan on a bed in my room asleep and I soon woke her up to ask about Hakufu only to learn the girl was too tired to make a trip and back in time. But I was able to get the beer to Chu and he didn't even notice a few cans were missing.
I knew at the time each member of the team was training with their new toys and powers. I also learned that Genkai's body was sealed in the cave while her soul was mostly in the spirit world. After that everybody spent the next day training while we prepared for the final round. After everyone came out, we learned that each team needed another fighter, and those spots were taken by the team owners Sakiyo and Koenma with the condition that would kill themselves if the team leader died. With that the first fight was about to begin with Kurama against Karasu and the red-haired boy needing to pull out his inner fox to really fight back.

Due to all the filler I highly condensed the final part of the chapter.
Next chapter will start the final and be the next to last chapter before my break until late may
