The Power Outage

That night Brad woke up in a sweat. It was clear that all of the power for the city had gone out. He was sweating a puddle in the bed. Now he heard in the distance fighting. It was clear with the power outage that Golbat Man was busy tonight. With his numerous sidekicks Brad knew that he would be okay. So, Brad went back to sleep in a hot sweat. When he awoke the power was still out. It was the point of great concern at the Trainer Club that day. Then Brad overheard that the Voltorb and Electrode had taken over the Power Plant. He heard that they were being led by bully Pokémon. The lead Pokémon was a Electabuzz. The power had gone out because the workers had not been able to get into the Power Plant because of the attacking Pokémon. The reserve had been used up last night when the power went out.

Brad could not get his Pokémon from the Professor. That is when Brad rolled his eyes and walked to the Power Plant. He was still tired, but he said that he was going to fix what had happened to the Power Plant. When Brad got to the Power Plant there was ten Voltorb and five Electrode ready to fight any human that came near the Plant. Then Brad threw out his Charizard and the Voltorb and Electrode started to attack Charizard. The first Voltorb flew at Charizard with a rollout attack. It leaped for an attack on Charizard but got blown back to self-destruct on its allies. They all rallied and used Charge beam on Charizard. Charizard skillfully dodged the barrage of charge beam. Then Brad used Rhydon to help Charizard in the battle. Then Rhydon used bulldoze to knock out another Voltorb. Then Charizard used a pillar of fire to trap three Voltorb. Rhydon followed the attack by using earthquake to knock out all three Voltorb at once. Then a Voltorb rolled up to Rhydon but was taken down quickly with a hammer arm attack. The last got a horn drill attack, and the Voltorb were defeated. Now Brad started to wonder what made the Pokémon act like this. Then the Electrode started to attack.

Then Brad put Rhydon back in its Pokeball. Brad then used his Nidoqueen. Brad had been lucky. He could not get his Pokémon from the professor, but he had been preparing for a steel gym with ground types. The Nidoqueen put its hands in the air and landed a earth power on the first Electrode. The second came speeding towards Nidoqueen. Then Nidoqueen jumped up did a backflip and landed a body slam attack. Then Nidoqueen started to blast through the air because Electrode used explosion. Then Nidoqueen came barreling down out of the air very quick and used a powered up mega punch on the third Electrode. The last two Electrode started to do a rollout attack. Immediately Nidoqueen and the two Electrode go into a dance of punches and dodges. With every punch the tow Electrode were getting quicker and quicker. This made it more dangerous for Nidoqueen to get hit by the rollout attack. They both started speeding toward Nidoqueen. When Nidoqueen leapt towards the sky and landed a backflip. This caused the two Electrode to ram into each other. Then Nidoqueen did a backflip and used body slam on one of the Electrode. This Electrode was knocked out. The other looked at Nidoqueen with hatred. The Electrode used explosion. Then Brad used his Pokeballs to capture all of the Voltorb, and Electrode. Somehow the Pokémon still were sent to Professor Cypress. Now all Brad had to do was find Electabuzz, and then he could head to Stafford. That is when a very big Electabuzz attacked Brad.

Now it was not the size of a Barnabas level event but the Electabuzz was standing about a foot taller than the average. Now Brad called out Rhydon to help with the Electabuzz. The problem was Electabuzz knocked out Nidoqueen and Rhydon with two simultaneous dynamic punches. Brad laughed because he was expecting this. As soon as his two Pokémon had fallen Brad's Nidoking landed a surprise Megahorn attack on Electabuzz. Then Nidoking and Electabuzz stood there swapping blows. Electabuzz would use dynamic punch. Then Nidoking would use mega punch. After both sides had taken about twenty hits that way neither side looked like anything had happened. Then Nidoking used earthquake to knock Electabuzz from his footing. The earthquake was followed up by a Megahorn attack. Then Electabuzz used cross chop attack. Then Nidoking hit Electabuzz in the face with a mega punch. Then jumped up an pounded its feet on the ground for a massive earthquake attack. This was followed up again by a mega horn attack. This caught the Electabuzz off guard, so Nidoking even got to use another mega punch. Electabuzz started to get up, but Nidoking started to attack with a earthquake attack again. Then Electabuzz tried once more, but Nidoking relentlessly use earthquake attack. Finally the Electabuzz fainted, and Brad threw a Pokeball to capture it. Brad had caught three Pokémon today which brought him to a total of one hundred and fifty Pokémon. Now Brad had only one Pokémon left on his Pokédex to catch. He figured that he would talk about it with the Professor when he got the chance.

When Brad was almost in Stafford, he saw a pair of Aerodactyl wings come flying down. Brad said, "Hey we said that we were not going to take on our hero persona anymore!" Tyrus the proclaimed "that is just how I fly on my Aerodactyl now. You and the whole of Manji is just going to have to deal with it. I am here for another reason though. You have not been applying yourself in your goal to be the head trainer in the Trainer Club. I have been steadily going up the ranks since my last loss, but you are nowhere to be found. What even is five hundred and fifteenth place. I would say you are just the first loser, but you are not even that. I am going to tell you this as your friend. Ugh! I even hate calling you that. there is going to be a top sixteen tournament in Griffin soon. I want you to be a part of it. The winner will become the head trainer. I want to see you in the finals. O I can crush your dreams. I do not want you to just give up on them. By the way how is your Pokédex coming. I bet you have not caught another Pokémon for a while." Brad laughed and said with a smile "I have actually caught three Pokémon today. I only need one more to finish the entire Pokédex for Manji." Tyrus said "Well at least you are keeping up with one of your dreams. Hey, get back to the Trainer Club and fight hard to get to the top. That is all I have to say to you." Then brad went to the Trainer Club in Stafford and rested.

Over the Top

Now Brad took what Tyrus had said to heart. He still wanted to become the Head Trainer. Brad went to see what challenges were happening on this day. Brad saw a over the rope challenges. The Pokémon would come out in a number one through thirty and would try to fling the other of the rope. The catch was that every trainer had to use a baby Pokémon. Which meant they were only allowed to use the lowest in an evolution line. If that Pokémon evolved midway through though they would still be able to compete. You could pick any type besides flying types but fighting types usually entered this competition.

Noe Brad called Professor Cypress. "Hey I need a Pokémon to win the over the rope challenge. Do you have any suggestions?" said Brad. "Oh yeah you should use a Pokémon that you know well. Maybe a fighting type I know it is a stereotype, but that means they are not going to super effective against you. Do you have a clue on what item you are going to use?" said Professor Cypress. Brad then smiled and said "I think I know what Pokémon I am going to use." Professor Cypress then asked about the Pokédex. "yeah I have one Pokémon left do you know who it is?" said Brad. Professor Cypress laughed and said "Good luck finding that one, but if you do I will be most impressed.

The event started and Brad got the first spot. He was going to have to fight the entire time. The commentary team said that this was the most excited that a trainer has ever been to get that spot. Brad used a male Nidoran to start the battle. The person that started across from Nidoran was Geodude. Nidoran started off with double kick. Then Geodude used mega punch to counter. Then with another double kick Geodude was not looking too good. When the next Pokémon entered a Pikachu. Geodude did a rock throw on Pikachu. Then Pikachu landed on Geodude with an iron tail attack. Nidoran kicked both of them into the air with double kick. Then with the second kick used Geodude as a projectile to get both Pikachu and Geodude out. Then a small little Caterpie cam out of the curtains and into the ring. This was easy for Nidoran because Caterpie was weak to peck. Then Weedle ran out to help Caterpie as the fifth contestant. They covered Nidoran in string shot attack. The tag team boasted on top of the ring about their accomplishment. Then Weedle turned on Caterpie and started to use poison sting on Caterpie. Then Caterpie started to use tackle attack on Weedle then Nidoran broke out. Then Weedle and Caterpie were knocked out by Nidoran peck attack. They were both thrown over the top rope. Then a Machop came out. Nidoran used peck on the Machop. Then Machop would hit back with a mega punch. This went on until the next Pokémon came out Rattata. The Rattata did not enter the ring, but ran around outside of it. Nidoran and Machop were still fighting when a Mankey came out and threw Rattata in, and got in the ring itself. The Rattata was swiftly taken out by Nidoran with a double kick. Then the two fighting types picked on the Nidoran. They started to use karate chop after karate chop. They took a beating as well though through peck attack from Nidoran. Then a second Mankey came out. The two Mankey did a risky maneuverer from the top rope they both used low kick. It was a tag team move. Machop and Nidoran agreed to a truce. That is when Nidoran used peck to shoot the two Mankey up in the air. Then Machop use mega punch to push them out of the ring. Both the Mankey were knocked out. Then another Machop came out. The two Machop were friends and through their hands up. While they were not looking the weaker Machop was thrown over the rope with peck. This made the second Machop mad, but it was thrown out with horn attack in just another second.

Brad's Nidoran was the only Pokémon in the ring. Then a Poliwag run up into the ring. Then Poliwag used a water gun attack. Nidoran used horn attack to cut right through the water gun. The horn attack landed right on the swirl of the Poliwag. Then a Cubone came out. The Cubone jumped into the ring. Brad's Nidoran got towards the corner. Poliwag hit Cubone with a water gun attack. Then Cubone relentlessly whacked Poliwag with a Bone Club attack. Then the next Pokémon came in. It was Rhyhorn barreling towards the ring. All three Pokémon looked at each other. As soon as Rhyhorn was in the ring Poliwag hit it with water gun. Then Cubone jumped in with a boomerang attack. Then Nidoran knocked the Rhyhorn right out the ring with horn attack. Cubone raised its bone in a pose. That is when Nidoran attacked with furry attack, and threw it over the top rope. Then Clefairy came out of the curtains ran up to the ring and did a metronome attack. The attack turned into a thunderbolt that was used on Poliwag. While, Poliwag was writhing with the pain from the attack Nidoran knocked it out of the ring. Then Nidoran used poison sting on Clefairy. Then a Jigglypuff appeared and attacked Nidoran with sing. Before Nidoran could hear the song Nidoran knocked out Jigglypuff with a horn attack. Then Clefairy fainted from the poison and was knocked out fo the match. Then Nidoran started to glow and turned into Nidoran. Brad then said, "That is what I was hoping for!" When Nidoran evolved into Nidorino it started to glow again and evolved into Nidoking. The referee said "That was your one item. Well, played."

Now Nidoking sailed through the rest of the Pokémon that were put up against it. Brad had single handedly defeated every Pokémon in the top of the rope challenge. Scott announced "Brad is the winner. It is the first time anyone has ever taken out every single member of the top of the rope challenge. Winning from the first spot will actually win you more ranks. You are moving from five hundred and fifteen to four hundred and fifty-three. Congratulations!"

The Rental Day

When Brad woke up that day he went into the main room of the Trainer Club. The main room was covered in decorations. Scott said "Happy Rental Day! It is not an official holiday. A travel agency puts on an educational day where trainers can fight with Pokémon from around the world. It is so that people can see what kind of Pokémon that they could catch from around the world. It is to try and muster up more business for the Travel Agency. Are you going to compete in the roulette tournament?" Brad asked "Wait that is the roulette tournament? If it will move up my rank, I will do about anything. I want to compete in the top sixteen tournament in Griffin. I am just a tad bit far away from that. So, I am trying to take on a challenge every day to get there before the tournament." Scott looked with intrigue "Well I can tell you that it is a sixteen-person tournament. Of those sixteen people fourteen of them have all signed up. All of them have the same ambition as you except they are in the top one hundred. So, if you win the tournament t you could rank up rather fast." Brad then said, "Well I am going to give it a try then." Scott said "Be warned it will not be easy. You will rent one Pokémon and have a one-on-one battle with another trainer. That Pokémon could be anything from a Bidoof to a Garchomp. So, it is a risk but have fun today." Brad then registered and then mentally prepared for a battle that he could not control.

The screen had sixteen Pokémon from all places in the world on it. First the trainers were chosen by their rank. Brad was the lowest one in the tournament so he had to fight the top ranked trainer in the first match. The roulette table spun and the trainer that Brad would face got a Kingambit. This Pokémon looked pretty fierce, and Brad was worried about what he would get to fight with. There was still a Patrat on the board. Instead of getting a Patrat Brad rolled and got a Blaziken Brad thought that Blaziken was a good option to fight Kingambit. They were all given a moment to study a card that was given to each trainer.

The battle started after the time for study expired. Kingambit started the a flurry of swiping slash attacks. Blaziken dodged the slash attacks. Blaziken then used double kick to counterattack. They were at standoff when Blaziken put everything that it had into a flamethrower attack. The pillar of fire hit Kingambit and burned it. Then Kingambit got close to Blaziken and started to poke a prod Blaziken. This was torment attack and made Blaziken unable to use the same attack twice. Then Blaziken used sky uppercut to get Kingambit to stop tormenting it. Kingambit used swords dance and then did swords dance again. Raising up its attack to levels that were very high. Then Kingambit landed a iron head on Blaziken. With the attack of Kingambit so high it hurt Blaziken greatly. Then Kingambit jumped into the air and attempted a aerial ace attack. Blaziken used double kick to knock the Kingambit to the ground. Now they were standing facing each other. They were waiting for the other to strike. They had both taken some hits. Then Kingambit leaped forward and used slash. Blaziken narrowly dodged and used flamethrower. Then Kingambit turned and used night slash on Blaziken. This left an opportunity for Blaziken to use double kick on the face of Kingambit. Then Kingambit went for a guillotine attack. Blaziken dodged the guillotine attack. Then used flamethrower on Kingambit. Then Kingambit went in for one last final stab to Blaziken. While Blaziken used sky uppercut to knock out Kingambit. Brad had one the battle to advance in the tournament.

Then Brad pulled a Togedemaru. The other trainer pulled a Octillery. Octillery started off the battle with octazooka. This hurt Togedemaru but it kept going. Then Octillery shot a mud shot at Togedemaru. Then Togedemaru used magnet rise that made ground type moves unable to hurt it. Then Togedemaru speedily attacked the Octillery while levitating with a zing zap attack. Then the Octillery did not attack immediately and that was a shocking revelation because it got hit with a discharge. Octillery then hit Togedemaru with another octazooka attack. It was still not able to get a super effective attack on Togedemaru. Then Togedemaru used zing zap again on Octillery. Then Octillery used psybeam on Togedemaru. This attack did not do much damage, but the two Pokémon were starting to weaken. Then Togedemaru fell to the ground very gracefully. Octillery landed a mud shot at that moment Then Togedemaru used discharge and Octillery writhed in pain from the super effective attack. With the opening Togedemaru used zing zap again. Octillery pointed at Togedemaru shot mud shot, but was not in time because Togedemaru used magnet rise in a moment's notice. Then eight Octillery appeared with a double team attack. Hey all did the exact same thing. Togedemaru used its speed and power to knock all of them out with zing zap until it found the real one. Then Octillery got Togedemaru in one of its tentacles. It went to shoot a psybeam attack to finish Togedemaru. Togedemaru then used a discharge attack to finish off Octillery instead. Brad advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.

Now in every roll of the table there was two unfortunate picks. You knew that you were going to have to battle hard if you got stuck with these Pokémon. In this roll of the roulette table Brad got a Bidoof. The other trainer got a Rookidee. It was odd but not unheard of that both of the weak Pokémon were going to fight each other. Bidoof started the battle off with a defense curl. Rookidee started to peck at Bidoof. Rookidee saw that it was not working and flew up and used Hone Claws. Every time this move was used it increased the strength of Rookidee. While Rookidee was doing that Bidoof was using defense curl. Then Rookidee swooped down with a power trip. Then Bidoof hit back with a headbutt attack. Now something unusual happened. Bidoof used a string of sword dance attacks. Most Bidoof would not know that move but brad had figured out that this one did because of its excessive training. Then Bidoof used super fang on Rookidee. The Rookidee flung Bidoof around with drill peck. Then Bidoof let go and hit the ground. The Bidoof looked like it was almost ready give up, but kept fighting. Then Rookidee started to rise higher and higher to the roof of the Trainer Club. Then it started to fall from the roof of the Trainer Club. Then Rookidee pulled up and was about to hit Bidoof with one final brave bird, but Bidoof had dodged. Rookidee ran right into a wall with a great force. This knocked out Rookidee, and Brad advanced to the final round.

The last match Brad was up against one of his old friends. "Tyrus good to see you here. Hope you are doing well." Said Brad. Tyrus snorted "I cannot believe that you made it this far. I am just glad that you have been trying to get to the level where you might be the top rank trainer. Did not want you to give up on your dreams. Well, that is not true. I kind of wanted to smash them myself. I hope you do not cry to much when you lose this match." Then they rolled for their Pokémon. Brad got a Garchomp. While Tyrus got the type advantage with a Shiftry. "Hey I got the type advantage even though I do not even need it."

Then the two were at a standoff in the middle of the arena. Shiftry tried to use razor leaf, but Garchomp used flamethrower to burn the leaves. It was a show of power for Garchomp. It was the statement that it was not going to go down that easily. Then Shiftry jumped close to the Garchomp. While Shiftry was close to Garchomp it used leaf blade attack. For every leaf blade attack that hit Garchomp it gave a dragon claw attack. This show of power went on for minutes on end. They were relentlessly attacking each other. When Garchomp was starting to feel weak from the attacks it used flamethrower to stop Shiftry from attacking. Then Shiftry flew up in the air with a gust of wind and used razor leaf from the air. When it landed Garchomp used a stone edge attack which greatly hurt the Shiftry. Shiftry was caught of guard and Garchomp used poison jab. This knocked out Shiftry. Brad had won a great victory.

Then Scott came over the microphone. "I guess not even with type advantage can Tyrus defeat Brad. We have a winner folks. Brad here has won many Trainer Club event, but this is most impressive beating people almost four hundred ranks ahead of him. All that and he was not using his own Pokémon. for this his rank today will go up from four hundred and fifty-three to three hundred and thirty-five. A round of applause for Brad."

The Hunt

Now Brad applied for a Pokémon Catching Challenge through the Trainer Club. Again, he was trying to increase his rank in the Trainer Club standings. The announcer came over the intercom and said "Alright the rules are simple. For every Rattata you get a single point, for Drowzee you get five points, and for Rhydon you get ten points. You must capture the Pokémon in the special Pokeball that we have given you. You will not be allowed to keep any of the Pokémon that you catch. Also, if you catch the one special Pokémon you get one hundred points. Good luck and remember got to catch them all!" Now they were all given thirty Pokeballs with a three-hour time limit.

Then Brad made it to a pasture that was infested with Rattata. He did not want to be shut out by the other trainers so he decided to take a few Rattata. Then Brad used Primeape to knock out the number of Rattata. The Rattata started to use quick attack on the Primeape. Then Primeape got one with a mega punch and Brad caught it. The next jumped up and bit Primeape's hand. Then another one got Primeape's hand. Primeape clapped his hands together with meg punch and both of them were knocked out. Brad caught the two Rattata. Then there was a Rattata with a funny looking set of eyes. Primeape used low kick on the Rattata, and it was captured. It was revealed to be a Ditto. Brad thought about releasing it, but he kept it. He thought it was strange, but it must be there for a reason. Then three more Rattata hit Primeape with a pursuit attack. Primeape then use mega punch to get one of them. The next was captured by using a cross chop attack. The final one was taken down with a karate chop. Now Brad had officially caught six Rattata and a Ditto. Now Brad was not sure about the Ditto but he had six points either way. Now Brad started to look for where the Drowzee where. The Drowzee made Brad fell very uncomfortable because of his past with Drowzee. A Drowzee had kidnaped him earlier in his journey and he had not felt comfortable around them since then.

Now Brad found the area with Drowzee. It was clear that many trainers were getting caught in the hypnosis attack of the Drowzee. The Drowzee seemed very happy because they were feasting on the nightmares that they were giving the children, and adult trainers. Brad quickly used Beedrill. Beedrill used Twineedle attack to defeat a set of five Drowzee really quickly. Brad caught the five Drowzee. The Drowzee surrounded the Beedrill. There were four Beedrill that surrounded the Beedrill. Beedrill then used Twineedle to take down all four. So Brad caught those four Drowzee. Then Brad saw one Drowzee that was hauling one of the children towards a crypt that was in the area. Now Brad knew that was probably where the Drowzee held their victims. So Brad sent Beedrill right for the crypt. Beedrill first took the Drowzee that was dragging the kid out with a Twineedle attack. Then Brad got into the crypt and beat the four Drowzee that were inside. Beedrill took two out with Twineedle. The other tow stopped Beedrill with a confusion attack. Then Beedrill could move just enough to hit both of them with a pin missile attack. Now Brad noticed something strange again. There was another Ditto amongst the Drowzee. He was sure of it now. The Ditto must be the Pokémon that were the secret of the event. If they were not he had just caught two Pokémon not worth anything. He was still doing very well with six Rattata, thirteen Drowzee and two Ditto. This would add up to seventy one points if Ditto was not worth anything.

Now Brad swooped down on Aerodactyl who he was flying on to find Rhydon. He made it to the Rhydon grounds. Brad summoned his Blastoise. Immediately it started to rain because Blastoise used rain dance. Then Blastoise used a gigantic surf attack to take out three of the Rhydon. Then a Rhydon used take down on Blastoise. Now Blastoise did not like that at all, and used a massive hydro pump attack. Now Brad caught all of the Rhydon he had knocked out. Then a Rhydon started to attack Blastoise with a horn drill attack. This attack missed because Rhydon was hit with a wall of a surf attack. This threw the Rhydon of its groove and then it was hit in the back with a water gun attack. The Rhydon fell to the ground with a massive thump because it was much bigger than a regular Rhydon. Then a Rhydon was making a big ruckus. It was smaller than other Rhydon which is probably why it made the ruckus. It was probably trying to show that it was important as well. As one often does when they feel small. Blastoise used one hydro pump and knocked it out, and Brad captured the small one. Then one with weird eyes started to shake the ground with earthquake. Blastoise used withdraw not to take the damage. Then Blastoise started to spin with hydro pump knocking out the one with weird eyes. As Brad thought it was another Ditto. Brad captured it. Finaly a wall of three Rhydon attacked Blastoise and were all taken out by surf. Brad caught all the Rhydon that he could. Now Brad was out of Pokeballs, and was about to head back when he saw Tyrus.

"Hey Brad I bet you did not catch as many as I did. I spent most of my time in the area with Drowzee and Rhydon areas. I actually caught ten Rhydon, ten Drowzee and one Rattata. He really seemed like he wanted to go with me. He most know what real strength is. What about you? Did you come out with a good haul?" Brad responded "I actually got six Rattata, thirteen Drowzee, and seven Rhydon. Oh and three Ditto." Tyrus said "You know they put those Pokémon in this kind of thing to distract you. They probably will not be anything." Brad laughed "Well hopefully they are because the best that you can do is tie." As soon as Brad said that the intercom sounded that time was up. Tyrus screamed profanities because he had tied with Brad.

Now when they had got to the closing ceremony they went by Pokémon to score the competition. "In first place after all the Rattata are calculated is Joey! Now onto the Drowzee Round. After the calculations the leading trainer is Tyrus. He was looking very green because he knew what was about to come. Now for the Rhydon round. After the calculations it seems that we have a tie for first. Now did anyone seem to catch one of the three Dittos that we placed out there." Brad said "I did! I actual caught three of them." The announcer said "Well that was all of them congratulations you win the Catching Competition today. Your rank goes from three hundred and thirty five to two hundred and ninety nine. Congratulations!"

Battle Royale

Now on the same day Brad was looking for something to raise his rank in the afternoon. When three guys approached him. "Hi I am Chandler! This is Grant and Mitch. Are you Pokémon Trainer? We are looking for a fourth for a Battle Royale! Of course this is for ranks. I am the twenty fifth in the ranks so this could be worth your while to participate in. Grant is number ninety-five. Mitch is number three thousand six hundred and forty-nine, but he has ambition and jokes so we keep him around. Now what rank are you?" said Chandler. Brad responded with pride "I am rank two hundred ninety nine." Chandler said that is not going to help me get into the number sixteen spot, but I think I will let you participate anyways for the fun of battle." Brad responded sarcastically "Thank for letting me battle with you." Then Chandler said "You are welcome! You do not stand a chance in this battle anyways. This is a battle royale match. We all throw in one Pokémon the last one standing wins the match. Sometimes we do a full team battle royale but we are not going to do that today."

Now Chandler chose his Arcanine. Mitch chose his Arbok. Grant chose his Alakzam. Brad chose his Gengar. The first thing that happens is that Arcanine used fire blast on Arbok. This damaged it greatly. Alakzam then took Arbok and used psychic. Then while Arbok was hanging there in the air via the psychic Arcanine used fire blast again. Arbok break out and immediately hits Alakzam with toxic. Gengar followed suit and hit Arcanine with toxic. Chandler was not happy with that and fired a fire blast attack at Gengar. Gengar used phantom force to dodge the attack. They started to attack Arbok again. Arbok did get one good crunch attack on Alakzam though. Arcanine relentlessly used fire blast on Arbok. Then Arcanine used flamethrower and roasted Arbok many times over. Alakzam picked up Arbok with psychic and held it there. Chandler got the joy of torturing the Arbok of his friend. Mitch seemed like it was a regular day and that this happened all of the time. He did look a little sad though. Then Gengar appeared from the shadows and used it phantom force on Alakzam. Then Arcanine went after Gengar with extreme speed and crunch but it was to late. Every time it tried to attack Gengar would disappear and attack Alakzam. Chandler was outraged that his friend was getting attacked. In the background Arbok had been building a stockpile up. Arbok had used stockpile about five times. Then Gengar used shadow ball on Alakzam and it was knocked out. Arbok then healed using swallow. It was restored to full health. "Losing to a three thousand and a two hundred how embarrassing." Screamed Mitch.

Brad and Grant met a gaze with one another. It was clear what they were going to do. They wanted to attack Arcanine for being a jerk to Arbok. Arcanine goes for a bite attack on Gengar. Obviously all this got Arcanine was a shadow ball to the back. Then Arbok used mud shot Arcanine in the eyes. It was a super effective hit. Then Arcanine used flare blitz on Arbok. Then Arbok slipped away from Arcanine. Then Arcanine got pelted with mud shot. Then Gengar used shadow ball on Arcanine as well. Then Arcanine sped up to Gengar with extreme speed. Then this ended in a shocking way because Gengar used thunderbolt on Arcanine. Then Gengar disappeared into the shadows of Arcanine. Then Gengar attacked Arcanine with a phantom force. Then Arbok got Arcanine with a mud shot again. Then Arbok bit on the backside of Arcanine. Arcanine started sprinting around in pain. Then Gengar did something that was not expected. Gengar used ice beam on Arbok. Arbok was froze solid. Then Arcanine used fire blitz on the block of ice with Arbok. Then Arcanine used crunch on Gengar. It hurt but it was not something that was going to cause any consequences because Gengar was so healthy still. Then Arcanine was shocked with thunderbolt from Gengar. Then Arcanine started to slow down. Arcanine had been poisoned the entire time. It hurt Arcanine one final time, and Arcanine fell over knocked out. "Ugh my rank is going to go way down losing to you two. You do not deserve to be in this battle anyways Brad. You are such a loser. I guess we will have to see who wins this battle." Said Chandler.

Then Gengar used phantom force on Arbok. Then Gengar used ice beam on the Arbok. It was a super effective move. Then Arbok got a crunch attack on Gengar. Then Gengar grabbed Arbok and shocked it with a thunderbolt. Then Arbok gave Gengar a glare attack which slowed down Gengar. Then Arbok used crunch, and it hurt Gengar badly. Then Arbok landed another crunch in the time it took Gengar to use ice bema once. The ice beam froze the tail of Arbok. Now both of the Pokémon were incredibly slow. Gengar used thunderbolt. This made Arbok have a full body reaction. Arbok bit into Gengar, nut the attack did not get the full effect because Gengar whisked away. This led Arbok to bite its own tongue which hurt it even more. Then Gengar reappeared a hit Arbok with ice beam attack. Then te end of Arbok tail just fell off. It was like it was some sort of precaution. Arbok kept battling and actually grew in back in the matter of seconds. Then Grant said "You see Arbok had regenerative properties to make it grow its own body back. I have done horrendous things to make its ability that powerful. My friend's love to see it through. That I why they attack my Arbok so hard." Then Chandler mocked "that is why they attack my Arbok so hard. No, you are just a loser three thousand." This regenerative ability did not affect the outcome of the battle because Gengar then used thunderbolt, and Arbok passed out from the damage. Brad won the battle.

"Well, you just go lucky. If I was on the top of my game, I would have won. Oh no my rank went all the way down to three hundred. It must be because Mitch got second place." Siad Chandler. Then Grant said "Yeah, I am back in the five hundreds because of this. I can't believe I went back that far." Brad then looked at his rank and moved up from two hundred and ninety-nine to two hundred and forty-four.

Bounty Hunter Squad?

Now Brad signed up for something that would raise his rank. The people of Stafford got together and made a trial of fake Bounty Hunter Squad setup. Every person that would compete would fly on their Pokémon like one of the heroes from other cities. They would take out the Bounty Hunter Squad member that they meet up with then they would go to the next one. When they finished all the "grunts" they would face a Barnabas rip off. Whoever did this the fastest would win the competition. Now did Brad think that this was a bit unsensitive after the death of Kimber, yes. Did he really need his rank to go up, yes. He knew that he could go up really fast doing this because he was who the competition was based on. He knew that he could win this one. The participants would have to fly from area to area. They were meant to look like the heroes of the other towns. Brad thought that people might catch on that he actually was one of those heroes, but no one actually seemed to care.

When the contest Brad got on his Dragonite and sped off to the first area to defeat the Bounty Hunter Squad grunt. He flew low in front of the trainer. "Hey don't you want to get off the Dragonite to fight me?" said the grunt. "That is not how the heroes did it. I will fight like I am one of them. Watch this I trust my Dragonite." Said Brad. Then the trainer used his Heracross. The Heracross was bigger than an average Heracross, but not the size of a building. The Heracross started with a Megahorn attack. Dragonite used flamethrower to counter the attack. Now Dragonite sped down for a wing attack on Heracross. This did massive damage to Heracross. The Heracross used seismic toss on Dragonite. Now this hurt Brad as well as Dragonite. Since Brad was riding Dragonite. Brad knew that they were going to need to finish the battle quickly. Then Dragonite used wing attack over and over again. Heracross did not like this but could not get a move in. Then Dragonite froze the wings of the Heracross with ice beam attack. This made Heracross much slower, and Dragonite was able to get many more wing attacks in on Heracross. This led to Heracross not being able to battle anymore. Brad was the first to defeat the grunt. He still had to hurry to the next grunt so that no one could get ahead of him. He thought that he would be able to win this with a quick defeat of the next grunt.

Then Brad made it to the second area. The grunt used a massive Skarmory. Now this Pokémon was a very powerful Pokémon in Mersonia. The steel typing meant that it could not be taken down easily. Brad flew along with Dragonite in this fight. Dragonite started the battle off with thunderbolt. The Skarmory used Swift to get closer to Dragonite. Then Skarmory scratched down the back of Dragonite. Then Skarmory used Air Slash to slowly take down the health of Dragonite. Then Dragonite used flamethrower. It was hot enough to melt steel. Which means the flames where much hotter than jet fuel. Then Skarmory started to descend in a falling fashion. That is when Dragonite shot another bolt of electricity at Skarmory. Then Skarmory recovered and started flying back towards Dragonite. Skarmory landed a steel wing attack to the head of the Dragonite. Then when Skarmory was above Dragonite it used air slash. This caused Dragonite to flinch and not be able to attack. Then Skarmory used swift attack. Then Dragonite used a shocking amount of electricity with thunderbolt to hurt Skarmory. Then the Skarmory was paralyzed. This stop in the fight let Dragonite breathe fire, hotter than the beach in July, with flamethrower. Then Skarmory screeched in pain which made a metal sound move. This brought down the defense of Dragonite. Then Skarmory hit Dragonite with multiple air slash attack. Then Dragonite faced Skarmory then aimed its thunderbolt at Skarmory. Skarmory started to fall down towards the ground. Then with a great clank and hit the ground. Then Brad quickly soared towards the next grunt. There were some trainers that got close to finishing of the second grunt.

Then Brad flew upon the next grunt. "You have to beat all six of my Pokémon in this trial. After this you get to have a six-on-six battle with Barnabas." Said the grunt. Then the grunt summoned all six of his Pokémon. It was a Spinarak, a Hoothoot, a Ledian, a Sentret, a Xatu, and a Electrode. Ledian and Hoothoot immediately got into the face of Dragonite. This was not a smart decision because they were both taken out with a single ice beam attack. Then Xatu saw the future with a future sight attack. Then Spinarak tied Dragonite's wings together and they crashed on the ground. Dragonite jumped and smacked Dragonite with a pound attack to the face. Then Electrode used rollout on the back of Dragonite. Xatu used me first to use flamethrower burning of the web from the wings of Dragonite. Then Dragonite finally got an attack off, and used flamethrower to defeat Spinarak. Then Sentret used tail whip attack to lower the defense of Dragonite. Then Electrode walloped Dragonite with a rollout attack. Then Dragonite got hit by the future sight attack that Xatu had predicted. For this Dragonite enveloped Xatu in a pillar of electricity with thunderbolt. Then Xatu was knocked out of the battle. Then Sentret jumped up and used pound on Dragonite again. Then Electrode did a devastating rollout attack. Then Dragonite used ice beam on the ground and caused Electrode to speed out of control. Then Electrode hit a rock went flying to through the air and used explosion. Now Dragonite quickly ascended to dodge this attack, but Sentret was not as lucky. "Well congrats you get to fight Barnabas. You look like you are the first one as well good luck."

Then Brad made it to the Barnabas impersonator. "Aren't you the kid they said had to swear to stop being a hero after they caught this guy. I am about to get beat into the ground aren't I? Well lets have this battle. This is a six on six battle. Good Luck!"

The first Pokémon that he used was a Slowking. Brad used his Venasaur and gave Dragonite the well-deserved rest that it needed. Venasaur started the battle by shooting a leech seed. Slowking kind of looked at Venasaur and slowly used a psychic attack. Then Venasaur used a toxic attack. Slowking slowly comes up with a nasty plot to raise its special attack. Then Slowking had its energy drained quickly. Then Venasaur relentlessly beat Slowking down with vine whip attack. Then Slowking used psychic to obliterate Venasaur with a strong attack, but Venasaur still stood. Then when Slowking got its energy zapped it gave Venasaur health. Then Venasaur again started to attack Slowking with Vine whip. Slowking did not get a attack off before it got its energy zapped to heal Venasaur. Venasaur was basically at full health but Slowking was looking worse and worse when it slowly used nasty plot again. Then Venasaur slapped the head of Slowking with vine whip. Slowking attacked with psychic this did a lot of damage but Venasaur got all of its health back from leech seed. On the battle went until Venasaur unleashed a razor leaf attack.. It cut up all the vines, but it did not matter in the end. The Slowking was to slow and the poison was slow getting to Slowking. Slowking raised it arms to use psychic but Slowking fell down from the poison, and was knocked out.

Then the Barnabas impersonator used his Ampharos. Venasaur started the battle with a quick leech seed an toxic attacks. Ampharos then used signal beam. Brad knew this was not a favorable match up so he switched out. Then Brad changed Venasaur out for Nidoqueen. Nidoqueen immediately threw her hands up and then put them down. This was Nidoqueen's signature earth power attack. Then Ampharos used its power gem attack. This did not really affect Nidoqueen all that much. Then Nidoqueen did a backflip and landed on Ampharos with a body slam attack. Then the face of a dragon came out of the mouth of Ampharos with a dragon pulse attack. Then Nidoqueen raised its hands. Instead of dropping her hands Nidoqueen dropped her foot and started to stomp with both feet. Ampharos was trying to prepare for a earth power attack, but instead got a earthquake attack. Then Ampharos used dragon pulse to hit Nidoqueen for a massive attack. Then Nidoqueen raised its hands and dropped her hands for a massive earth power attack. Then Ampharos shot a power gem attack towards Nidoqueen. The attack missed because Nidoqueen was doing a backflip to land on Ampharos for a crushing body slam attack. Then Nidoqueen took a Signal beam to the back because it was appealing to the crowd that had come to watch the competition. The crowd started to yell when Nidoqueen rose her hands. Then when Nidoqueen dropped its hands a mighty earth power hit Ampharos. Nidoqueen did not even look to aim, but Ampharos fell and was knocked out.

Then the impersonator used Typhlosion. Nidoqueen stomped the ground and beat the earth for a might earthquake attack. Then Typhlosion started to sprint towards Nidoqueen with a ring of fire around it. This was a flame wheel attack something that that Typhlosion line was known for. The flame wheel attack made contact and the crowd started to boo the Typhlosion. Then Nidoqueen did a backflip and landed on Typhlosion. Then Typhlosion used flamethrower. Then Nidoqueen jumped through the flamethrower and then did a body slam that seemed to miss. Instead Nidoqueen hit the ground, and it shook massively with a mighty earthquake attack. Then Typhlosion hit Nidoqueen with a eruption attack. This stalled out Brad from giving the orders because the lava remind him of Kimber. Typhlosion used flamethrower on Nidoqueen again. Nidoqueen was getting frustrated with Brad for not ordering. Then a order finally came for a earthquake attack. Nidoqueen stomped and raged at the ground. The earth shook with terrific power and an earthquake attack happened. That move got Typhlosion off its momentum. Nidoqueen raised its hands up and then down. Typhlosion got another earth power attack. Then Typhlosion ran up on Nidoqueen with flame wheel. Then Nidoqueen did a backflip and hit Typhlosion. Then Nidoqueen stomped the ground and raged for a earthquake attack. Then Typhlosion got one more flame wheel attacked and Nidoqueen was knocked out. The crowd went hysterical with sadness when this happened. Brad then used his Venasaur. The type was not a good match up but he wanted to get one more shot off. Venasaur used leech seed and toxic. Typhlosion used flamethrower and Venasaur barely hung on. The sun was high in the sky at this point and Venasaur shot a Solar beam as the same time as Typhlosion used flamethrower. They were both considered knocked out.

Next Brad threw out his Golduck. Now Brad had not fought with this Golduck all that much, but he was glad to get the opportunity to use it. Then the impersonator used Magcargo. Then Golduck hit Magcargo with water gun as quickly as it could. Then Magcargo winced with the pain. Then Magcargo shot an ancient power attack back at Golduck. Magcargo had a great stat boost from the attack. Then Magcargo sped up enough to use lava plume. Golduck stopped the lava with a confusion attack. Then Golduck dropped the lava on the head of the Magcargo. Then Golduck used hydro pump on the Magcargo. Then Magcargo used rock slide on Golduck. This pinned Golduck down to the ground. Then Magcargo got really close to Golduck to attack. Magcargo was about to use lava plume. Golduck used hydro pump to cool down the lava coming towards it. This let Golduck escape the pin of the rocks but then Magcargo used ancient power again. All of Magcargo's stats were greatly increased. This made Magcargo go so fast that it got attack again with a lava plume that hurt Golduck. Then Golduck used confusion to stop Magcargo. Magcargo struggled to used lava plume which just fell back on it. Then Magcargo tried to use flamethrower but it failed in the hold of confusion. Then Golduck hit Magcargo with a pillar of water with a hydro pump. Then Magcargo was wincing with the pain. It could not attack when Golduck used one more water gun attack to defeat Magcargo.

The impersonator used Murkrow in the battle. Then Golduck used ice beam to start the battle off. This slowed Murkrow down because of a frozen wing. Then Golduck used hydro pump to cover Murkrow with water. Murkrow attacked with assurance that greatly hurt Golduck. The Golduck used ice beam attack that froze Murkrow all over its body because it was wet. Then Golduck used hydro pump on the frozen Murkrow. Then Murkrow started to move in the ice, but it had not dethawed yet. Golduck used water gun on the Murkrow. Then the Murkrow was dethawed and raised from the frozen body, and attacked Golduck with foul play. Then Golduck used ice beam to attack Murkrow. Murkrow countered the attack with assurance. Then Golduck did ice bam once again landing a frozen toe on Murkrow. Then Murkrow used wing attack on Golduck. The frozen toe weighted down the Murkrow. Now Golduck hit Murkrow with a hydro pump attack. Then Murkrow used foul play on Golduck, and Golduck was knocked out. Then Brad used his Dragonite for the battle. Both Pokémon soared into the air. They were both very high up when Dragonite use thunderbolt. This made Murkrow fall out of the air. Then Dragonite flew down and froze Murkrow with ice beam attack. Then Dragonite caught the ice cube and defrosted it with a flamethrower attack. This caught the Murkrow off guard which was a opportunity for Dragonite to use thunderbolt. Now Murkrow was knocked out because of the thunderbolt attack.

Then Brad withdrew his Dragonite and used his Clefable. The impersonator used Umbreon. Umbreon used double edge attack on Clefable. This attack did some great damage, but it hurt Umbreon as well. Clefable then used a great light to attack Umbreon with dazzling gleam attack. Then Umbreon used a swift attack on Clefable. Clefable then used metronome attack on Umbreon. It was a confused time it seemed like time slowed down. Then speed up at a real quick pace. Then Clefable used roar of time on Umbreon. Now the levels made it where Umbreon survived roar of time just barely. Then Umbreon used quick attack on Clefable. Clefable used metronome. The metronome did not go in the favor of Clefable though it did a heal pulse on Umbreon. Then Umbreon used double edge on Clefable. Clefable then used dazzling gleam on Umbreon which blinded it for a second. At this time Clefable used Moon blast on Umbreon. Then Umbreon used a mean look on Clefable. Brad yelled "Hey it is not that I am trapped in here with you. You are trapped in here with me." That is when Brad ordered Clefable to use dazzling gleam. This was of course a super effective attack against Umbreon. Then Umbreon did last resort on Clefable. This left Clefable really weak. Then Clefable used moon light and gained its health back. Then Clefable used Moon blast on Umbreon. That is when Umbreon used one last double-edge attack. Unfortunately for Umbreon it did not have enough health and fainted.

Now Brad was the first to get through the battle with the Barnabas impersonator. So Brad won the Bounty Hunter Squad event. Scott proclaimed "We have a winner! Brad has won the event, and his rank will go up from two hundred ninety nine to two hundred and one. We are glad that you all participated in this event. Remember if you see something say something," Then a blonde man with very loose looking clothing walked up to Brad. He was dressed in all yellow and orange. He has a wire in his hand and did not look really bright. "Hey are you the kid that just won the event? I am Sparky! Oh I am the gym leader of Stafford. You should come and battle the gym. What uh? How many badges do you have?" said Sparky. Then Brad said "I actually have fifteen badges. I know that is a lot. I am trying to get all eighteen in Manji to battle the Elite Four. I was already planning on coming to see you. I have to get them all." Then Sparky said "I guess you do have to get them all little dude. Look I will be more than glad to battle you. Do not forget come by tomorrow."

A Sparky Battle

Now the next day Brad met up with Sparky at the gym. "Hey you are the dude that won the event." Brad said "Uh yeah you told me to come tomorrow. I need to get my badge so I could head to Griffin to see Wingstead and go to the top sixteen tournament. Wait do you not remember saying all that." Then Sparky said "Uh yeah I might remember something like that. We have triple battles at this gym. Can you handle all three of my shocking Pokémon at once? This battle will be a six on six. For every Pokémon that faints you have to replace it. Are you ready for this?" brad looked with a grin and said "I have talked and planned with Pokémon for a battle like this. I think that you do not even stand a chance for this."

Brad used Aerodactyl, Charizard and Rhydon. Parky used two Magneton and a Raichu. "You used two flying types in a. an electric gym. Like how did you even get this far without knowing type advantages. How are you even going to win this battle?" Then Aerodactyl grabbed Rhydon and started ascending into the air. Then both of the Magneton used lock on towards Charizard. Then Charizard roasted one of the Magneton with fire blast. Aerodactyl and Rhydon keep riding up higher in the air. Then Raichu shot a thunder attack at Charizard but it did not land. Then Charizard took two thunderbolt attack from the Magneton. Then Aerodactyl and Rhydon kept flying higher into the sky. Then Raichu used thunder again but while it was close Charizard skillfully dodged. Then the two Magneton sent a slew of zap canon attacks towards Charizard but all of them missed. Then Charizard hit the same Magneton with a flaming fire blast. Aerodactyl and Rhydon kept soaring higher even in the air. Then Charizard swooped in and used flamethrower on the one Magneton. Then the Magneton was defeated. That Pokémon was replaced by Electabuzz. Charizard then dodged a thunderbolt by Raichu. After Charizard dodged a massive zap canon from Magneton. Aerodactyl and Rhydon were still flying even higher. Then Electabuzz and Raichu both shot thunder attack at Charizard one hit and another missed. While swooping down Charizard shot. Overheat attack at the other Magneton. The Magneton was very weak and only was able to hit one more zap canon on Charizard. Then Charizard hit Magneton with one last flamethrower to knock out Magneton. Then Magneton was replaced by Jolteon. That is when Aerodactyl and Rhydon did a little headbutt to show friendship. Brad then screamed "It's time for mega super earthquake attack." Then Rhydon was drooped to the ground from the great distance in the air, and did earth quake with the force of the drop. This made Raichu, Jolteon and Electabuzz faint all at the same time. Then Sparky sent his last Pokémon Electrode out. Aerodactyl shot ancient power which hurt Electrode. Now Aerodactyl got a stat boost in all of its stats. Then Charizard used flamethrower on Electrode. Then Rhydon used earth power attack. Then Electrode used charge beam on Charizard. Charizard used fire blast to get revenge on Electrode. Then Electrode was knocked out.

"Hey you did not even defeat one of those flying type Pokémon! It sounds like you have not mastered any type match ups!" said Brad. Then Sparky said "Hey little dude gloating is not cool. I guess I was a little bit mean at the beginning of this battle I was totally not expecting a mega super earthquake attack. Here is your Volt Badge!" Then from the air Brad heard a shout. "Hey Brad! It's me Wingstead I am coming down. Hey Brad, I need your help with a raging Dragonite. It is in the Dragon Den area that is right in between here and Griffin. You are coming to Griffin next, aren't you? I am extra excited for our battle. I have been since we trained on the day of my engagement. You are coming to my wedding. Right? I sent your invitation to your mom. I also invited her and that boyfriend of hers. How did she and Oliver Wayne come to know each other? No matter I am just really glad to get to see you my friend." Brad said "Gym leaders do not usually come and met me in a town over. How bad is this Dragonite situation? I will definitely come to your wedding! I just hope you are not late to it like you were to the date you got engaged on." Wingstead said "Yes the Dragonite has been on a rampage for a couple days. Go heal your Pokémon then we can be off for the Dragonite. Then after the Dragonite we can get onto Griffin. Thanks for the help by the way."
